Angie Vu, the hot model/DJ and former Miss COED, has a lot of time on her hands now that she’s behind bars. But the majority of her days are apparently spent reading the bible and fighting off lesbian temptations.

Things could be worse.

The Vietnamese starlet is currently doing time in a Brooklyn jail after trying to flee the country with her 9-year-old daughter instead of “returning her” to her biological father. Vu was busted by U.S. marshals at Kennedy Airport while trying to board a flight to China. According to court papers, the social media sensation allegedly broke an agreement with Richard Froger, the child’s father, who agreed to let their daughter stay in New York for part of her summer vacation. She was supposed to return to France – where Froger lives – on August 29.

She now faces extradition on parental abduction charges.

It goes without saying that the 32-year-old has had a rough time, but she credits her eventual strength to Jesus.

In a recent interview with New York Daily News, Vu says she’s spent the last three months behind bars fighting off the constant attention from fellow inmates. “A lot of lesbians around here and a few blondies are hitting on me,” she explains. “But I prefer to read my bible for now.”

Emphasis on for now.

She continues: “I tried my best not to get in any fight. I thought prison could be much worse, though. Only saw prison on TV, I was ready for gang rape, getting beaten up and vowed to protect my face at all cost. So my social skill became handy.”

What is National Signing Day? It is the first day that a high school senior is eligible to sign a National Letter of Intent for college football. The idea is to protect these young athletes from being preyed on by colleges and universities too soon, allowing them to fully develop opinions and relationships to the programs and coaches before they commit. As a high school football player, you’re not required to announce your decision on National Signing Day, but it’s become a fun day that the media loves to cover–so why not?

When did millennials start getting such a bad rep? I get we’re a generation defined by social media notifications, raging tuition debt, and the ubiquitous selfie, but are we really that bad?

According to Twitter, the answer to that question is hell yes.

The hashtag #MillennialBillOfRights is currently trending on Twitter, and like everything unleashed on the popular social media platform, tweeters are going hard with the hate.

What started as a harmless Twitter game with the help of @ICanHash has since turned into a clusterf*ck. “I just thought it would be funny to see what ppl in the hashtag ‘community’ would come up with. Criticism and Defense of Millennials is a huge vein, in social media, ironically lol,” said Jonathan Xavier, one of the people behind @iCanHash to Forbes. “I think a lot of the hashtag game players are millennials themselves so there wasn’t any hate we desired to express towards them.”

Little did they know they were going to spawn an all-out war.

Beezow Doo-doo Zopittybop-bop-bop, a man who somewhat famously changed his name from Jeffrey Wilschke in 2011, has been arrested for assaulting a police officer and Washington State sheriff at Evergreen State College.

The 34-year-old man is no stranger to police or jail, as he was arrested previously on drug and weapons charges in Wisconsin. That’s when late night talk shows got wind of the insane name.

But that’s in the past. Let’s recap what just happened with Beezow. According to police reports, Beezow was tearing down flyers in the library. When the police arrived, he first tried to flee. The officer gave chase and tackled Beezow. Then this happened:

The officer chased the suspect and eventually took him down to the ground, but the suspect thrashed around and tried to grab the officer’s gun. During the struggle, the suspect bit the officer’s ring finger several times and also tried to stab the officer with an ink pen.

The officer was unable to control the suspect — who kept grabbing for his gun — and ended up stepping away. The suspect retrieved a handcuff case, then swung it like a hammer, causing a laceration on the officer’s head.

The officer punched the suspect in the jaw, but the strike didn’t faze him. The officer then used a taser twice, causing the suspect to fall to the ground on the second taser deployment. However, the suspect got up and fled on foot. [source]

How about the cojones on Beezow to withstand all that punishment? There’s no way the police are chasing him after that, right? Wrong. The story continues.

A Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw the suspect running along Evergreen Parkway and chased him into a wooded area. At one point, the suspect threw a rock at the deputy. The deputy used his taser on the suspect, who broke the electrical lines and kept running.

The suspect again threw rocks at the officer, striking him at least once. The deputy caught up to the suspect and struck him several times with a metal baton. The deputy noted that the baton strikes didn’t have much of an effect on the suspect, who was able to grab a brick and throw it at the deputy before running off into the woods again.

At this point, another deputy joined the pursuit and deployed a taser on the suspect. The suspect was eventually tackled, handcuffed and arrested. [source]

It’s almost understood that if your name is Beezow Doo-doo Zopittybop-bop-bop your arrest story will include multiple failed tasering attempts, bites, and rock throwing.

Brown University

Brown University is one of the few colleges making moves when it comes to welcoming trans students into Greek life. The college just announced that they will be changing their Panhellenic system to include transgender and transitioning students into campus sororities.

The Panhellenic Council at Brown University only represents three sororities on campus – Kappa Delta, Alpha Chi Omega, and Kappa Alpha Theta – it’s still a pretty big step for change. According to Total Sorority Move, the changes had to be approved by all sororities before the council made a final decision last week.

Two Kappa Delta sorority sisters NBC 10 News they think the change is a positive one. “This is the next great step we’re taking,” said sophomore Allie Greenberg. Her KD sister Nicole Kaufmann added, “I think it’s just mirroring the movement that’s been going on. It’s like the civil rights movement. It’s like the gay rights movement. I think this is the next frontier.”

Sophie Blistein, a Brown University Senior and the member of the Panhellenic Council who initially brought the issue to light, elaborates. “Even people who are born one way, however they want to present themselves to the world, they deserve to do that and to enjoy every privilege of the people that they really are.”

One fraternity at the University of Chicago, Alpha Epsilon Pi, has gotten themselves into some deep sh*t after a bunch of racist emails they sent amongst themselves leaked. Buzzfeed obtained the AEPi emails from a current AEPi brother who became tired of the “toxic culture” within the fraternity and then published them on their site today.

As is the case with pretty much anything racist, it is not a good look for the brothers or the national fraternity as a whole. That’s probably why AEPi’s Nationals are in the middle of an official investigation regarding the issue. Here’s what their national spokesman Jonathan Pierce had to say after Buzzfeed reached out to them:

As a Jewish fraternity, Alpha Epsilon Pi is especially sensitive to hate speech and behavior towards any minorities,” Pierce said. “Especially during these troubling times of increased anti-Semitism on college campuses, we are very aware of the harm that negative speech towards minority groups can do. We will investigate and, if necessary, work to educate the individual members about this issue.

As a reader of this site, you’re probably familiar with AEPi and the fact that it’s traditionally a Jewish fraternity. That might help to explain their constant references to Palestine.

The emails you’ll read below were sent between 2011-2015, and do everything from call Muslim students terrorists to drop n-bombs and talk about celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day with 40s, fried chicken, and Black Dynamite.

As you may have noticed in the photo at the top of this article (it’s a Google Maps picture of their actual house), there’s a large and vacant lot next to the house. This lot is referred to as “Palestine” by the AEPi brothers.

Admittedly, the Palestine reference isn’t as inflammatory as, say, the brothers referring to Muslims as “Towel heads” or “terrorists.” It’s not like the emails didn’t contain those words or sentiments, we just didn’t include them in our article because Buzzfeed should get the credit for publishing the story. There are some things that would make watching Super Bowl 50 even better. One of those things would be watching the big game at one of the players’ houses. According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Carolina Panthers safety Roman Harper is offering up his apartment for viewing the game while he is playing in the game itself on Sunday night in Santa Clara, California.

The listing, which is on Airbnb.com, gives a fan and one of their friends a chance to rent the apartment and watch the game for the slim price of only $5,000 with the money going to Harper’s Home 41 Foundation. There will also be a signed football included along with Airbnb matching the donation for a total of $10,000.

The one big stipulation is that it is just for two guest and no parties are allowed in the apartment with a 70-inch television. This sounds like the perfect thing for a Panthers fan that can’t get to the game itself and wants to be part of the team at least for the day.

There aren’t very many opportunities like this that will ever come along but the team is good for Panthers fans to jump all over this as soon as they can before the weekend and the offer is off the board. Roman Harper is going to be some fan’s favorite player forever after this offer is used up.

Everyone loves a good ol’ viral marriage proposal, right? Good, cause this one’s as good as they come.

On February 3, Brooklyn residents (of course this happened in Brooklyn) Erika and her boyfriend Alex went to see a movie at the Nitehawk Cinema in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. But when they got to the theater, it was empty, and instead of the usual rom-com or comic book movie trailers, a different video came on the screen.

Early candidate for Bro Of The Year, Alex turned their 17 year long relationship into an epic movie trailer.

The two met in elementary school and then reconnected 17 years later. They dated for three years, and now after last night, they’re getting married. Stories like this are almost exclusively plot lines for cheesy romantic comedies, so it’s great to see something like this happen in real life.

I only have one minor issue with the video. Alex, bro, Valentine’s Day is two weeks away, how are you possibly going to top this? I mean, I get you’re excited to begin the rest of your life with your beautiful wife, but waiting another two weeks wouldn’t have killed you. Two birds with one stone, bro, two birds with one stone. Also, I wonder if they actually stayed for a movie, or hightailed it home to, uh, celebrate.

What? No … I’m not crying. Pshhh. Love is for suckers man.

Super Bowl 50 memes are running wild like old white people to the dab. Without even talking about the actual X’s and O’s we’ll see on the field, Super Bowl 2016 is already getting a ton of coverage because of the fact that this game will feature the new school quarterback in Cam Newton going head-to-head with Peyton Manning, the de-facto leader of the old school QBs.

Kids are a delight, aren’t they? They’re always snotty, yelling, peeing wherever they want to, and asking inappropriate questions because hey, they’re kids! What do they know, right?

Well, according to National Geographic, they know a sh*t ton more than you do. The company featured the following riddle as part of their “Brain Games TV” series and found that 80% of children under the age of 10 were able to give an instant answer, while I (26) sat here for about 15 minutes wondering what the f*ck I was even looking at.

The question is as follows:

Which way is this yellow bus going, left or right?

Ok, now think about this one, long and hard.

Are you ripping your hair out yet? Daydreaming about food? Cursing the day you got that liberal arts degree? If you’re not, you’re probably about to.

According to the Daily Mail, the answer is actually really simple:

The correct answer is that – if you’re in the UK – the bus is travelling to the right. And the key to solving the puzzle is the fact that you can’t see the passenger doors.

This means they must be on the other side of the bus, and if you’re in the UK where people drive on the left side of the road this means the bus is going right. The opposite applies in the US and other countries where people drive on the right – and the bus would be travelling on the left.

Yeah, I think it’s dumb too. Luckily I’m not from the UK, so I’m taking that as justification for not knowing the answer and running with it. F*ck you, kids!

We knew that Southern Illinois University’s Polar Bear 2016 party was nuts, but we never know for sure until we see actual footage from the event. Thankfully our dude Rashad was on the scene–just like he is for everything worthwhile in Carbondale–to get some dope stuff on his GoPro.

Despite waking up early with the party animals, somehow Rashad managed to capture everything from kegs and eggs all the way to the last call at Saluki Bar & Grill and Levels.

And shoutout to those girls taking selfies at the beginning of the video–always a good idea to capture what you look like before you get hammered.

On January 30th at around 1 a.m., three black students from University of Albany said they were attacked by roughly a dozen white UAlbany students on a CDTA bus. In the midst of getting punched and kicked, the students also allegedly screamed racial slurs while bystanders cheered and videotaped the incident.

Here’s what happened, according to one of the victims:

According to Times Union, the victims left the bus at a campus bus stop, and two of them – who had minor scrapes on their faces – went to Albany Medical Center to get checked out.

The incident caused public outrage and multiple protests on campus, the first being that Monday night when junior Asha Burwell, one of the women who said she was attacked, spoke to several hundred students about what happened.

“We are shocked, upset, but we will remain unbroken,” Burwell said. “We stand here with strength because we value our worth as black women and as human beings in general.”

But like everything that involves racial tensions on campus, the incident has been called into question – as in several news reports questioned if the fight actually happened the way the victims are claiming it did. Initial news reports claimed that the video was “damaging” to the victim’s claims, but after seeing the video in full, we’re not so sure. Here’s what happened:

The video has since circulated online and caused various responses. According to Times Union, the three victims also claimed that “they were called racial slurs during a verbal argument with what they describe as 10 to 12 white men and women before a physical fight broke out. One woman told university police that several men kicked her after she fell to the floor.” However, several witnesses claim the fight was only between two girls, rather than a big group, which the victim initially referred to.

As for whether or not the fight was racially motivated, students have mixed feelings.

“I want to see the video when it comes out,” said Kemi Mosaku, a UAlbany junior from Nigeria. “Part of it could be a race thing, but part of it could be aggressiveness. (The bus) is always rowdy, even during the day.”

“Fights happen every weekend,” a white UAlbany football player said. “I’m more concerned about a man putting his hands on a woman.”

“I feel like the bigger situation is the bus,” one black UAlbany football player stated. “Those things get wild.”

A more thorough investigation is currently underway.
