As part of it’s new Bolder Than Bold campaign, Butterfinger is offering pro football players up to $50,000 to pay for the fines they may incur for excessively celebrating in the final three games of the season. Sounds like a win for everyone involved, including the NFL. Despite it’s relentless efforts to make the league as little fun as possible, everyone still loves a good celebration.

To launch this campaign, Butterfinger recruited famous mad man comedian Billy Eichner to do what he does best: unsuspectingly berate people on the streets of New York. They paired him up with legendary NFL diva receiver Terrell Owens, and sent them to the streets of New York to ask unsuspecting commuters and tourists to share their own touchdown celebrations. As is anything with Billy Eichner, the results are hilarious.

Whether any players actually take Butterfinger up on their offer has yet to be seen. I can tell you one thing, if a player does do it, he certainly won’t be a Patriots player, I can guarantee you that. If I had to bet, my money would be on a Carolina Panther. Those dudes love clowning around. As if I wasn’t already excited for the Conference Championship weekend already, Butterfinger has somehow doubled my anticipation.

The study, which was published in JAMA Oncology, is the first study to show conclusive evidence that HPV-16’S presence in the mouth leads to the the development of ‘oropharyngeal’ cancer.

Reactions To The Viral Video

The video caused a range of reactions, but NYC’s First Lady Chirlane McCray managed to put those in support to rest.

“Earlier this week a video emerged that depicted intimate partner violence on a sidewalk in our city. The video displayed verbal abuse, forced humiliation, and harassment by the alleged offender, directed at his wife,” McCray said. “Posting that video online perpetuated the abuse, which New York City does not tolerate. We are steadfast in our efforts to make sure all victims of abuse are aware of the many resources available as we strive to make New York City’s public and private spaces safe for all women and girls.”

Melo was arrested at 5 p.m. Wednesday and was awaiting arraignment on charges of choking, child abuse, coercion and assault.

According to the New York Daily News,

Videos show him yucking it up with his friends and singing a song about a man betrayed by a woman. He even posted a video of a man satirizing the public punishment.

But in the final series of videos Melo, filming himself, asks for forgiveness.

“Jason Melo here. I want to ask all women for forgiveness. I want them to know, that really, I didn’t want this to – I didn’t think this would – get to this point,” he says.

Renowned graphic artist Kevin Lyons has teamed up with Truth and Vans to promote a tobacco-free Raleigh, North Carolina. Sounds ambitious, but that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to rid the world of smoking.

Last month the artist went to the city – which is particularly afflicted by youth tobacco use – and painted an inspirational mural that spread uplifting words from teens across the country. Phrases like “Let’s Make History!” and “We that generation” can be found all over the wall from teens who wanted to share what it means to live in a tobacco-free world.

Art can solve a lot of the world’s problems – do I sound too much like John Lennon right now? – and Lyons’ painting is one step towards making a difference. Otto Frederick Warmbier, a University of Virginia student, was recently arrested in North Korea for what is being called a “hostile act.”

China-based tourism agency Young Pioneer Tours confirmed that Warmbier was one of their clients in a statement made earlier this morning on their website.

We can confirm that the reports that one of our clients is being detained in Pyongyang are true. Their family have been informed and we are in contact with the Swedish Embassy, (who act as the protecting interest for U.S citizens), who are working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address the case. We are also assisting the U.S Department of State closely with regards to the situation. In the meantime we would appreciate Otto’s and his family’s privacy being respected and we hope his release can be secured as soon as possible.

Warmbier was arrested four days before North Korea conducted its fourth nuclear test, which violated UN sanctions and drew disapproval from the U.S. and surrounding countries.

What Happened to Otto Warmbier?

The 21-year-old Theta Chi fraternity brother was in North Korea for a short, five-day New Year trip and was detained at Pyongyang airport on Jan. 2 before boarding a flight back to China. He was part of Young Pioneer’s “New Year’s Party Tour”, which, according to the itinerary on the company’s website, included watching fireworks in Kim Il Sung Square. The area is in the heart of Pyongyang. A helicopter ride was also offered.

According to a man on the same flight, Warmbier and his travel group were out until 5am that morning getting drunk on Vodka. From Independent:

According to Darragh [an Irish national who was on the same flight], Warmbier – a 21-year-old Virginia student – was yelled at by armed officials at Pyongyang airport terminal before being dragged away:

“We were told there were only 100 tourists in the country at the time and there were 100 people on my flight,” he said. “When we were leaving one of the other tour group’s [the Young Pioneers] tour leader said ‘we’re missing Otto’.

“The tour operator eventually got through to Otto on the phone. He said to her that he didn’t want to leave and had a headache and that he wanted to go to hospital. She preferred him to get on the plane and go to a hospital in China….He hung up the phone and that was the last they heard of him. There was a frantic search when they landed in China.

“There was another person sitting next to me on the plane. This person said he [Otto] had said something to the guard. At the gate for the plane there was a woman collecting tickets and an armed soldier. According to the person next to me he [Otto] said something to the soldier and then the soldier started yelling at him and dragged him off.

His family has already been informed as well as the university, and the State department is aware of “media reports” surrounding the boy’s arrest. However, spokesman Mark Toner said that he had no other details to share due to privacy considerations.

The arrest was also announced on a North Korean news station.

KCNA announced that “Warmbier was under investigation for ‘perpetrating a hostile act against the DPRK after entering it under the guise of tourist for the purpose of bringing down the foundation of its single-minded unity at the tacit connivance of the U.S. government and under its manipulation.”

Gareth Johnson of Young Pioneer Tours – the program responsible for Warmbier’s initaly trip – told Reuters that they’re doing everything they can to help. “We are in touch with Otto’s family, the U.S. State Department and the Embassy of Sweden in Pyongyang and doing all we can to secure his release.”

This is not the first time in the past year that North Korea has arrested a student. In October the DPRK released NYU student Joo Won-Moon after claims they discovered him crossing into the country from China.

Who Is Otto Frederick Warmbier?

Otto is a first and foremost an American, an Ohio native, who has been illegally arrested and detained by an evil dictatorship that relies on childish acts such as these to get the world’s attention. But you probably already knew that.

Otto graduated from from a Wyoming High School, which is actually a high school in Cincinnati, OH. He is now currently studying commerce at the University of Virginia and is on the Dean’s List. Otto’s social media accounts show that he’s interested in finance, rap, and travel.

He is a member of the Theta Chi fraternity, who have had a tough year so far. Seven months ago, a fourth-year student and their President, Quentin Alcorn, died.

Understandably, most Americans are upset about Frederick’s arrest.

Some are blaming Obama’s deal with Iran as the reason for Otto’s arrest.

According to the New York Daily News, “the U.S. State Department said it could not confirm the CNN report. It declined to discuss the issue further or confirm whether the U.S. was consulting with Sweden, which handles U.S. consular issues in North Korea because Washington and Pyongyang do not have diplomatic relations.”

CBS News correspondent Seth Doane said that Warmbier was visiting North Korea for a short five day trip and was detained at Pyongyang’s airport ahead of a flight back to China. The tour company said that Warmbier’s family has been informed and is currently”in contact with the Swedish Embassy, (who act as the protecting interest for U.S citizens), who are working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address the case. We are also assisting the U.S. Department of State closely with regards to the situation.”

Warmbier was a graduate of Wyoming High School in Cincinnati and is currently a commerce student at University of Virginia. Cincinnati-area lawmakers announced that they are closely monitoring the situation.

Sunday’s first championship game will be in the NFC as the 14-3 Arizona Cardinals go on the road to face the 16-1 Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. The top two seeds in the conference have shown some great offenses and solid defenses all season long. The question though is which team will have enough on both sides of the ball to move on to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara on February 7. Here are five predictions for the NFC Championship Game.

The Arizona defense is the star of the game. Even without Tyrann Mathieu, this is a very key portion of the game with how good the Cardinals defense is. They have scored on two fumble recoveries and four interceptions this season. They are ball hawks and in this game even with an improved Cam Newton under center for the Panthers, Arizona’s defense is going to take the ball away four times and score at least once on defense. In a game where people may believe it will be all offense, the defenses are going to shine.

Cam Newton has 350 all-purpose yards. It is very hard to slow down Newton with his 6-5 frame in the passing game and in the run game as well as he had 636 rushing yards in the regular season. While the Cardinals are going to have a great day against Newton, this won’t stop him from having 270 passing yards and 80 more on the ground. It is simply too difficult to slow down Newton for an entire game. He is going to be the lone piece of the Carolina offense that is going to work out well on Sunday afternoon.

David Johnson rushes for over 160 yards. One of the biggest stars of the regular season was Johnson and his breakout game in Week 15. The Panthers have a very good defense but can be exposed at times. Johnson will make sure that happens and will run wild through the Carolina secondary. He did average 4.6 yards per carry in the regular season and should average about that in this game as well. It will take some pressure off of Carson Palmer in the pass game on the road looking for a Super Bowl appearance.

Carolina’s defense scores twice. Here is the x-factor for this game. Will the Panthers make Palmer’s life miserable when he does pass the ball? The answer to that is yes. Palmer did throw 11 interceptions in the regular season and the Panthers are going to find a way to pick off two of his passes and return both for touchdowns. It is a very bold prediction but if the Panthers play anywhere close to the way they did in the first half against the Seahawks, they are going to make this happen early in the game.

It comes down to a late touchdown….In a game that is going to feature three defensive scores; it is going to come down to an offensive touchdown to win this game. Carson Palmer will lead his Cardinals down the field in the closing minutes and will find John Brown for the winning touchdown with under a minute to go which gives Arizona a 28-24 win and a berth in Super Bowl 50. It is bound to be a disappointing conclusion to a great season for the Panthers but the Cardinals are simply the better team.

Brady and Manning have seen a ton of each other over the last 15 years with this being their 17^th matchup. Here are five predictions for the AFC Championship Game in Denver.

This will be the final Brady-Manning meeting. We are reaching that point where these two legends are going to find their way into the sunset sooner than later with Manning likely being the first as soon as this season. Brady will be 39 when next season begins and Manning will be 40. The Broncos seemed to be happy with Brock Osweiler at quarterback when he replaced an injured Manning earlier in the season. This is a game that should be remembered as this is going to be the last time these two see the field together.

James White takes over the New England run game. This may come as a surprise to some people as White hasn’t been the lead rusher all season long for the Patriots but he is a favorite target for Brady out of the backfield and with a very ineffective running game right now, White and his elusiveness may be perfect for New England to change things up on the Denver defense. White finishes with 65 yards on the ground and six catches for 98 yards in the pass game but it will be a changeup the Broncos never saw coming.

Peyton Manning throws for under 200 yards. Manning didn’t turn the ball over in the AFC Divisional Round win over the Steelers and his receivers dropped a ton of passes but this is not the same Manning from earlier in his career. The Patriots defense isn’t one to slow down the passing game to a point to make it a non-factor but there is going to be enough pressure on Manning that he isn’t going to be as effective as he needs to be to get the Broncos a blowout victory in this one.

Tom Brady passes for over 400 yards. While Manning isn’t going to do well through the air, Brady on the other hand is going to light up the Denver defense because he won’t have a running game to do anything of substance with even if White takes over the run game. Brady is over 5,000 passing yards for the season now after throwing for 302 in the Divisional Round. The Patriots will be looking to go to their seventh Super Bowl with Brady at the controls and their leader will have a Hall of Fame-like day in his tenth AFC Championship Game appearance.

The game goes into overtime. With all the previous things said, this is a game that is going to go past the 60 minutes of regulation. New England will have their yards but the Denver defense will do just enough to keep Brady and company away from piling on touchdowns. Ronnie Hillman will be key to Denver staying in the game but when all is said and done, it will be a Stephen Gostkowski field goal midway through overtime that will send the Patriots to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara as New England goes on the road and gets a 23-20 win. 

I think it’s safe to say that Nicole is the total package. She’s only a freshman at the University of Nevada- Reno, but she’s done more with her college experience in one year than most people do in four years. The biology major plans to specialize in pediatric oncology and loves helping children so much that she went to Rwanda to volunteer. Just call her the next Angelina Jolie.

The California native is on the Division 1 cheerleading team at UNR and hopes to be a mentor when she graduates. She may have struggled to find herself in high school, but it seems like she doesn’t have to look any further.

Think she has what it takes to be Miss COED 2016? My guess is that she has a damn good shot. Voting for the final round of begins January 27!

You went to Africa to volunteer at an orphanage for a few weeks. How was that experience?
The experience in Rwanda was unreal. The beautiful people there were so happy without having a thing. The trip humbled me, and I hope to go back someday for long term.

You said that one of your goals was to travel to every continent. How many have you visited so far?
I have been to four out of the seven continents: Europe, Africa, North America and South America.

How long have you been cheerleading for? Is this something that you hope to continue after college as a coach or mentor?
I have been cheering from the age of 12. I have considered cheering professionally, but I will definitely participate in our Nevada Cheer mentorship program when I am an alumni.

Have you always wanted to be a doctor?
I have not always wanted to be a doctor; however, I have always wanted to work with children. Pediatric oncology would give me an opportunity to give back to children going through more struggles than most of us could understand.

Where are you originally from?
I am originally from a little community right outside of Napa, California called Green Valley.

What’s your favorite late night study snack?
My favorite late night study snack would definitely be sour gummy worms. Those are my weakness.

If your high school self could talk to you now, what do you think she would say?
My high school self would tell me that I can do anything that I set my mind to. There are always going to be people that tell you your’e not good enough, but the truth is that anything is possible.

Did you ever picture yourself being a part of a Division 1 team?
I never believed it would be possible to make a Division 1 cheer team, but years of hard work proved to pay off. I am extremely grateful for my spot on Nevada’s amazing team.

What’s your favorite class you’ve taken so far in college?
My favorite class in college so far has been my composition 2 class, where I participated in a semester-long research project on the effects of dietary supplements.

Has a coach/professor/parent given you a piece of advice that really resonated with you? If so, what was it?
One of my coaches once told me to “ have the courage to live a life true to yourself, not the life others expect of you.” This was so important for me to hear, as I struggled in high school to find who I really was.

We’re excited for the commercial for a number of reasons, but mostly because TJ Miller has been on such a tear recently.

Macklemore’s new track “White Privilege II” is guaranteed to start some sh*t. The nine minute song targets his own white privilege guilt, and a helpless Iggy Azalea, who he calls a fascist. Harsh.

Before we get into it, take a listen. Hopefully you have the spare time.

So… that was long.

In case you missed it, he name-checks Elvis Presley, Miley Cyrus, and Iggy Azalea, whose music he calls “fascist and backwards.”

Naturally, it doesn’t stop here – Azalea takes a true beating: “Fake and so plastic, you’ve heisted the magic / You’ve taken the drums and the accent you rapped in / You’re branded ‘hip-hop,’ it’s so fascist and backwards / That Grandmaster Flash’d go slap it, you bastard / All the money that you made / All the watered-down pop bullsh*t version of the culture, pal,” he raps.

Yikes. Azalea has since responded:

Looks like we have the latest Twitter fight on our hands.
Obviously the song isn’t really about Iggy Azalea or any of the artists he mentions as shams, but the reactions will come nonetheless. According to TMZ, the rapper is just as hard on himself.

It seems he’s lumping himself in with both [Iggy and Miley] — and the criticisms they all hear about their music — but Iggy’s taken it very personally.

But the song isn’t really about Iggy — you really have to hear the whole thing — Macklemore goes on to rap more about his own guilt for joining protests. Last November, he marched in a Michael Brown protest in Seattle.
