The dangerous rush attack from the Midshipmen was simply too much for the Panthers to handle. Reynolds finished his Navy career with 142 yards rushing and 126 yards passing in his final game while Chris Swain added 110 yards on the ground. Peterman was pressured all day for Pittsburgh and had just 137 yards passing with a touchdown and three interceptions. Tyler Boyd had 55 yards rushing and 52 yards receiving for the Panthers. Navy finishes with an 11-2 record while Pittsburgh finishes 8-5 for the 2015 year.

4th Quarter- 3:30 left: A third Peterman interception should seal this game for Navy.

4th Quarter- Navy 44, Pittsburgh 28: The Keenan Reynolds show continues with his third rushing touchdown of the game, this time from nine yards out and he has 132 yards rushing for the afternoon with 4:19 left.

4th Quarter- 4:24 left: A key third down coming for Navy.

4th Quarter- 6:30 left: Navy is deep in Pittsburgh territory looking to ice this game.

4th Quarter- Navy 38, Pittsburgh 28: Ollison finds a hole and goes 45 yards for a Panthers touchdown with 9:35 left. This one isn’t over yet but Pittsburgh needs some defensive stops.

4th Quarter- Navy 38, Pittsburgh 21: A huge touchdown from Toneo Gulley from 15 yards out with 10:58 to play in the game gives the Midshipmen a bigger lead late.

4th Quarter- 14:00 left: Navy gets a key first down on fourth down to keep their drive alive.

End of 3rd Quarter: The Midshipmen have a ten-point lead but it feels like it is closer than that as the final 15 minutes of this bowl game arrives. Keenan Reynolds has 107 yards passing and 105 yards rushing for Navy from the quarterback position. Chris Swain has added 86 yards for Navy to help Reynolds out. Nathan Peterman has thrown for 107 yards as well but has two interceptions to go with his third quarter touchdown pass. A very exciting final quarter to come.

3rd Quarter- 2:52 left: Navy needs to run some clock with Pittsburgh having all the momentum at this point.

3rd Quarter- Navy 31, Pittsburgh 21: Here comes the Panthers as Jordan Whitehead takes in a fumble from 22 yards out for a big defensive score to cut the Navy lead down to just ten points with 2:57 to play in the third.

3rd Quarter- Navy 31, Pittsburgh 14: A touchdown for Qadree Ollison on a four-yard touchdown pass from Peterman but it remains a three-score game with 3:14 left in the quarter.

3rd Quarter- Navy 31, Pittsburgh 7: Austin Grebe hits a 35-yard field goal and the lead is up to 24 points with 8:11 left in the quarter.

3rd Quarter- 8:16 left: Navy has driven again deep into Pittsburgh territory with Reynolds breaking rushing records along the way.

3rd Quarter- 10:53 left: The Panthers go quietly on their first possession of the second half and have to hope their defense can finally stop Navy’s offense to have any chance to rally.

3rd Quarter- Navy 28, Pittsburgh 7: The Midshipmen extend their lead on a 26-yard touchdown run by Demond Brown with 12:28 left in the quarter and the rout is on in Annapolis. There was even a halfback pass to Reynolds on the drive.

Halftime: Navy 21, Pittsburgh 7

It has been all Navy for most of the first half. Keenan Reynolds is making a statement in his final game for the Midshipmen. Reynolds is 7-for-12 passing for 107 yards and a touchdown and has added two rushing touchdowns to go with 57 yards on the ground. Chris Swain is leading Navy in rushing with 63 yards on 12 carries. Nathan Peterman is 5-for-11 for 72 yards and two interceptions for the Panthers as Navy is more than doubling time of possession on Pittsburgh so far. Navy held the ball for 20:50 while the Panthers had it just 9:10. It is a recipe for Navy success.

2nd Quarter- :36 left: Peterman is intercepted for the second time as Boyd slips and falls down in the endzone. A huge turn of events in the closing seconds.

2nd Quarter- Navy 21, Pittsburgh 7: Reynolds goes to the air and finds Tyler Carmona on an 11-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead with 1:41 to play in the first half. A big score late in the half.

2nd Quarter- 3:10 left: Pittsburgh needs to find a way to slow down the Navy rush game or this game is going to get away from them before halftime as the Midshipmen are down to the Panthers’ 31-yard line.

2nd Quarter- 6:04 left: Nathan Peterman’s pass is intercepted as he went deep for Tyler Boyd and Navy gets the ball back on the Lorentez Barbour pick.

2nd Quarter- 7:59 left: Pittsburgh gets a very big stop to stop Navy from making it a two-touchdown lead and with their offense, that may have been enough.

2nd Quarter- 11:43 left: Chris Blewitt misses a chip-shot 28-yard field goal for the Panthers and the Midshipmen keep their seven-point lead.

2nd Quarter- 12:29 left: Pittsburgh has driven deep into Navy territory early in this second quarter looking to tie the game up.

End of 1st Quarter: Navy is running all over Pittsburgh with 107 rushing yards through the first 15 minutes. Reynolds is 3-for-4 passing for 54 yards and has 23 more yards rushing with the two touchdowns. The Panthers have the kickoff return but not much else with Navy taking tons of time off the clock with their run game. Tyler Boyd has 21 rushing yards and 12 receiving yards to lead Pittsburgh.

1st Quarter- Navy 14, Pittsburgh 7: Reynolds is at it again, this time with a five-yard touchdown run for his second score of the game with 41 seconds left in the opening quarter of play.

1st Quarter- 4:29 left: Navy is running their offense to perfection and are driving.

1st Quarter- 7:28 left: The first stop of the game comes from Navy as Pittsburgh is forced to punt from near midfield.

1st Quarter- Navy 7, Pittsburgh 7: The Midshipmen march right down the field and get a one-yard touchdown run from Reynolds to tie the game with 9:26 to play in the opening quarter. The triple option is hard to stop.

1st Quarter- Pittsburgh 7, Navy 0: What a way to start for the Panthers on a 99-yard kickoff return by Quadree Henderson just 14 seconds into the game.

Pregame

The biggest week of the college football bowl season kicks off Monday afternoon with the Military Bowl as the 10-2 Navy Midshipmen host the 8-4 Pittsburgh Panthers in Annapolis. Keenan Reynolds will play one final game in front of the home fans and will look to finish his career with a flourish. Reynolds threw for 1,077 yards and rushed for 1,229 more this year. Kickoff is scheduled for just past 2:30 p.m. Eastern time.

TMZ reports:

According to Columbus Police Department, the accident occurred around 1:30 PM Sunday on State Route 315. Elliott told police he hit a puddle, hydroplaned, and lost control of the vehicle … hitting another car.

Police say the other driver had minor injuries and was not hospitalized.

Ezekiel was cited for driving without an operator’s license, failure to control (an Ohio specific traffic violation), and driving under a suspended license.

Meet Samara Rose Ingraffia, a 25-year-old housebound woman who constantly feels like she is being burned alive from the inside out.

Somehow, it’s even more terrifying than it sounds.

Ingraffia suffers from erythromelalgia – also known as Man on Fire Syndrome – a rare genetic condition that makes her feel like she has second degree burns all over her body. She was only 9-years-old when she started experiencing symptoms, but it took years for doctors to diagnose her.

“I don’t know what the worst part of this condition would be. It affects everything in my life,” she says in an interview with The Mirror. “It’s all consuming and it’s just maddening to be constantly burning alive – it’s Hell on Earth.”

Ingraffia also suffers from Renauld’s Syndrome, another rare condition that causes her body to dramatically react to the slightest of temperature drops. In order for her to lead a relatively normal life, Ingraffia can only be exposed to temperatures of 62.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

Her father – an ex-professor who is conducting his own research on the condition – suffers from erythromelalgia and Renauld’s Syndrome, as well.

“Whenever there’s a slight increase in warmth, the body massively overreacts and floods blood to the skin,” he explains. “The blood then gets stuck in the skin which leads to horrific nerve pain. Whenever someone with Renaulds is exposed to cooler temperatures, the blood withdraws from the skin, causing a sort of numb kind of burning. When I get into temperatures above 62, 63 degrees Fahrenheit, especially if I do any sort of movement, it feels like I’m in an oven.”

We’re officially never complaining about the weather again.

Daniel Drill-Mellum, a former University of Minnesota student, has been arrested and accused of raping two women, both of whom are Minnesota students. Daniel is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The police arrested Daniel on Christmas Eve, as he was traveling back to the United States for his sister’s wedding.

It’s been a rough year for gun violence, and the Washington Post just released a cruel reality to its readers: policemen have shot and killed nearly 1,000 people in this year alone.

With numerous Black Lives Matter protests erupting across the country in hopes of fighting police brutality and finding justice for those wrongfully murdered at the hands of authority figures, the findings manage to hit you square in the gut despite lacking that shock factor.

According to the newspaper’s extensive study, out of the 965 people fatally shot by police in the United States this year, 564 were armed with a gun, 281 had some other type of weapon on their body, and 90 weren’t carrying anything.

The study also found that despite only making up six percent of the U.S. population, around 40% of those shot and killed while unarmed were black men. Another disturbing statistic showed that roughly a quarter of those killed were deemed mentally ill; 75 of the victims were confirmed to be suicidal while 168 had some kind of history of mental health problems.

According to Elite Daily, the stats are even worse than they already sound.

According to FBI data, US police kill an average of around 400 people per year, which means they’ve shot and killed more than twice that number in 2015.

It’s also problematic [that] many police departments don’t provide the FBI with reports on the use of lethal force by their officers, so we don’t really have a full picture of how often police kill people.

Daniel Drill-Mellum, a 21-year-old student, was arrested on Christmas Eve after flying back to the United States for his sister’s wedding. Daniel has been charged and accused of raping two University of Minnesota female students last year. The full list of charges is as follows:

• Two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct
• Two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct
• One count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

He was arrested by University of Minnesota police and is being held on $10,000 bail. He has also been forced to surrender his passport.

According to police, Daniel is accused of raping two women on back-to-back weekends, beginning with Halloween 2014 when he met an 18-year-old at a fraternity party. Here’s the story from Fox9:

An 18-year-old U student told police she met Drill-Mellum at a party at Sigma Phi at 400 10th Street SE on Oct. 31, 2014. He led her into the laundry room where they began to kiss. She tried to stop him while he pushed her against a wall then he tried to force her to perform oral sex. When she turned away and tried to get off her knees, he pushed her to the floor and said “I know you want this” and “You’re so turned on right now” and raped her. She told her roommate what happened the following morning and was treated at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. She did not report the rape to police a the time.

Exactly one week later, Daniel was at another party (this time at off-campus housing). This time he invited a 19-year-old female back to his apartment so that they could get more alcohol. Instead, he was interested in something else entirely. After the female refused to take off her clothes and asked to be taken back to the party, Daniel was having none of it.

She said she eventually performed oral sex on Drill-Mellum, “hoping that it would only take a few minutes and then the Defendant would allow her to return to the party,” according to the criminal complaint.

But the victim said he instead forced her onto a bed and raped her as she cried. [source]

So why did it take so long for Daniel to be taken into custody? Partly because the first rape victim didn’t report that she actually was raped until a year later (when she learned of a third sexual assault victim), and partly because Daniel was in Australia where he was interning at a hotel and studying at the Queensland University of Technology.

Daniel was returning to the United States for his sisters’ wedding. Today was his first day in court.

It was a change that was bound to happen: slowly but surely NCAA schools are lessening the punishments for student athletes testing positive for THC, the Associated Press reports. There wasn’t an immediate change, and there wasn’t one particular amendment from the NCAA to reduce the punishments–it’s just sort of happened.

The AP analyzed policies for 57 of the 65 schools in the Southeastern, Atlantic Coast, Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences, plus Notre Dame.

Of the 57 schools, 23 since 2005 have either reduced penalties or allowed an athlete to test positive more times before being suspended or dismissed. Ten schools have separate, less stringent policies addressing only marijuana infractions.

The idea is that the new testing programs are supposed to give these student-athletes more opportunity for rehabilitation, rather than dismissing them from school and allowing them to fend for themselves.

While the NCAA doesn’t test student-athletes for recreational drugs during the season, they do test student-athletes before championship games. Last year, those punishments were reduced from a suspension of a full season to just a half a season. But that’s not enough, says the NCAA’s medical chief Brian Hainline says.

Dr. Brian Hainline said his organization should concentrate on busting athletes who use PEDs and leave it to the schools to deal with the rest, preferably through treatment rather than punishment.

“The most important thing that I can’t emphasize enough is that as a society, we have to make a clear distinction between recreational drug use and cheating,” Hainline said. “I really believe that they require two different approaches. One is more nuanced, and one is hard core. [source]”

It’s fantastic to see actual thought and sensibility start to make its way into the way that the NCAA punishes student-athletes. Students who are partying shouldn’t be put into the same basket as students caught knowingly cheating.

Steph Curry is in the middle on a historic tear this season–there’s no other way to put it.

Omar Casspi, a three-point specialist on the Sacramento Kings, is a role player on a team struggling to stay relevant and seven games behind .500.

But last night, the two of them entered into a duel that was a hell of a lot of fun to watch. In the last 3:15 of the second quarter, the two combined for 10-10 from behind the three point line. With the exception of one layup from Darren Collison, Casspi and Curry were the only two people to score.

Casspi went 4-4 from 3-point land on his way to a total of 13-18 night (9-12 on threes), giving him a total of 36 points. Curry went 6-6 (5-5 from 3-point land) on his way to a total of 23 points and a triple-double.

Couple things I’d like to point out:

Believe it or not, that step back three from Curry was his first points of the game.

At 2:20 left in the quarter, Casspi and Gay try to save the ball under their own basket. Never do this, even on a lost rebound. You leave the offense an opportunity to score with a defender out of position.

Of course Seth Curry (on the Kings) bricked a corner three with :30 to go, only to give his older brother the rebound and a pull-up 3 opportunity.

Guys! We have some great news. Despite what you’ve heard about marijuana (namely these crazy propaganda ads about how awful it is to be high), it was one of the few drugs that didn’t cause any overdose deaths in 2014.

According to recent findings from the U.S. Center of Disease Control, no one died from smoking too much weed in 2014, and to make matters even better, it’s also one of the few drugs that’s never shown up in their data sets since the CDC started tracking fatal overdoses.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for pretty much every other drug out there. Here’s what they found:

Facebook: Utopian Raspberry – Modern Oasis Machine

The Internet is going CRAZY over how dogs would wear pants thanks to Facebook page Utopian Raspberry – Modern Oasis Machine (AKA UR-MOM), and we’re jumping on the bandwagon. HOW WOULD THEY WEAR PANTS, PEOPLE?!

After posing the question to their Facebook followers Monday night, the image quickly went viral, and EVERYONE had something to say about it.

According to a recent interview with Maxim, the photo was created by a 19-year-old Belgian student named Norbert, who made the image after spotting a dog wearing pants in his neighborhood.

“I created it last night at about 2 or 3 am (it’s 4:30 pm now my time),” Norbert told Maxim over Facebook Messenger. “I saw some dogs wearing pants, and I thought about how they don’t really have arms so their pants should technically go on every leg. I just tried both versions.”

“Personally, I think the second one looks better.”

Norbert isn’t alone.

After writer Jared Keller posed the question to his Twitter followers, a sh*tstorm of answers – and thankfully, photos – came in, most of which agreed with Norbert’s two-legged pants preference.
