The LSU football team is getting into the Christmas spirit with their kicker Colby Delahoussaye posing as the iconic Bobby Boucher from the Adam Sandler flick The Waterboy.

Reading aloud the heartwarming tale Cajun Night Before Christmas, Delahoussaye sounds (and kinda looks) exactly like Boucher himself. Based on the looks of his fellow players, everyone seems to be enjoying themselves, so much so that they fall asleep with big fat smiles on their faces. Now that’s camaraderie.

Are they dreaming of Boucher’s calming voice? Being part of the cajun night before christmas? Or just really enjoy some warm cuddling? The world may never know.

Christmas Day has turned into the day where the NBA has the main stage in the professional sports world. This year, there are five games on the schedule that each have their own meaning or reason to be played on the holiday while families are together opening gifts and enjoying each other’s company. Here is a look at each game.

New Orleans at Miami, Noon, ESPN: The Pelicans have been suffering through a very bad season but still have Anthony Davis on their roster who is leading the team in both points and rebounds per game. New Orleans isn’t a team to take lightly for the Heat even with their poor record. Miami still has Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh and appear to be on track again this season to produce a winning campaign. If Davis goes off in front of a national TV audience though, watch out for the Pelicans.

Chicago at New Orleans, 2:30 p.m., ABC: The Bulls and Thunder both have new coaches this season with Fred Hoiberg and Billy Donovan. Chicago has been leaning on Jimmy Butler a lot this year with Derrick Rose still not looking like his old self. New Orleans is getting another huge season out of Kevin Durant, who is averaging over 26 points a game while Russell Westbrook is averaging over nine assists per contest. This could turn into a Thunder runaway.

Cleveland at Golden State, 5 p.m., ABC: This game may have had even more meaning if the Warriors were still undefeated coming into it. However, this rematch of last season’s NBA Finals will be worth watching every second of. LeBron James and Stephen Curry are arguably the top two players in the NBA today with Curry hitting three-pointers all day and averaging over 30 points per game while James scores and passes the ball like Magic Johnson did back in the 1980s.

San Antonio at Houston, 8 p.m., ESPN: A battle of Western Conference teams from Texas begins the night sessions as the red-hot Spurs behind Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge hit the road to face a struggling Rockets team that is barely above the .500 mark for the year. The Spurs look like the one team that could give the Warriors a challenge in the West while James Harden may be averaging nearly 29 points a game but Houston can’t seem to keep up their winning ways.

L.A. Clippers at L.A. Lakers, 10:30 p.m., ESPN: The final game of the day features the two Staples Center occupants and a final Christmas showcase for Kobe Bryant. Bryant is leading the Lakers in points and assists per game but has struggled in his final year. The Clippers aren’t setting the Western Conference on fire but are doing much better than the Lakers, who appear to be on their way to another lottery pick after this season hoping to improve their team moving forward.

It is getting to the end of the NFL season which means that the Pro Bowl selections were ready to come out which they did on Tuesday night. To the surprise of none, the undefeated Carolina Panthers ended up with ten players making the rosters. The Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots each finished with seven selections apiece. It would appear that it will be a top-loaded NFC group of Pro Bowlers when the game is played on January 31 in Honolulu on ESPN at 8 p.m. Eastern. There will be a fantasy-style draft on January 27 with the teams divided between Jerry Rice’s team and Michael Irvin’s team. Here is a look at the full rosters.

When the New Year’s Six bowl games were announced, there was some question about how competitive the Peach Bowl would really be as the 12-1 Houston Cougars face the 10-2 Florida State Seminoles at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. This is a game that actually features two teams that are very similar and it could make for a much better game than many are expecting as the appetizer before the playoff semifinals later in the day on New Year’s Eve.

Houston won the American Athletic Conference title with a 24-13 win over Temple and their only loss came on November 21 to Connecticut. Greg Ward Jr. has been a dual threat worthy of any power conference quarterback position. Ward has thrown for 2,590 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in the pass game while rushing for another 1,041 yards and 19 touchdowns. Demarcus Ayers has been a monster catching the ball from Ward with 89 receptions for 1,140 yards and six touchdowns. The Cougars aren’t a team to just look past as they average 40.6 points a game.

Florida State finished their regular season on a three-game winning streak including a 27-2 win over Florida on the road. This has turned into Sean Maguire’s team in recent games and Maguire has thrown for 1,128 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions for the year. Dalvin Cook is a beast rushing the ball with 1,658 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground for the Seminoles. Florida State features three receivers with between 50 and 53 catches led by Kermit Whitfield’s 53 catches for 742 yards and six touchdowns. If the Seminoles come to play for the early start, it could run away with this game.

The Northwestern Wildcats came into the 2015 season with a lot of questions. Northwestern would prove many critics wrong by winning ten games for the first time since 1995 when they went to the Rose Bowl. The 10-2 Wildcats have a challenge in front of them in the Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa however on New Year’s Day as they face the 8-4 Tennessee Volunteers. The two teams met on New Year’s Day after the 1996 season as well with Peyton Manning torching the Northwestern defense during a Tennessee win.

Northwestern won their final five games of the regular season to get to that elusive ten-win mark but don’t score a lot of points doing it, averaging just 20.7 points and 332.6 yards per game. Clayton Thorson has thrown for 1,465 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions while finding ultra-back Dan Vitale 33 times for 355 yards and four touchdowns. Justin Jackson has carried the Wildcats literally with 1,344 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The Wildcats only allow 16.4 points and 310.5 yards a game on defense. If Northwestern gets behind big, they will be in trouble.

Tennessee is on a five-game winning streak themselves and finished that off with a 53-28 win over Vanderbilt to end the regular season. Joshua Dobbs has passed for 2,125 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions this year and likes looking for Josh Malone with his 29 catches for 388 yards and two touchdowns. Jalen Hurd has rushed for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns to lead the ground game for the Volunteers. This is a case where the tough SEC schedule may help out Tennessee in a big way against a tough Northwestern defense. The Volunteers average 34.3 points and 422.5 yards per game on offense.

New Year’s Day has always been the day for the biggest college football games and while this year will feature its share of great games, it is overshadowed by the playoff semifinals on New Year’s Eve. One game on January 1 that should spark the appetite of fans however is the Citrus Bowl at the Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando as the 9-3 Michigan Wolverines face the 10-3 Florida Gators. The two teams are about as well-matched as any two teams this bowl season.

Michigan comes in after a 42-13 loss to Ohio State to finish the regular season while averaging 30.6 points and 387 yards a game on offense. Jake Rudock has passed for 2,739 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season and likes looking deep for Amara Darboh. Darboh has 56 catches for 703 yards and five touchdowns. De’Veon Smith has been effective running the ball with 644 rushing yards and six touchdowns. The Wolverines have a chip on their shoulder after the way they lost to Ohio State and have something to prove in this game.

Florida lost their final two games of the season including the SEC Championship to Alabama and average 24.5 points and 338.7 yards a game on offense. Treon Harris has 1,530 passing yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions for the season. Antonio Callaway is the leading receiver yardage-wise with 603 receiving yards on 30 catches with four touchdowns. Kelvin Taylor will likely go over the 1,000-yard mark in this game as he comes in with 985 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. The two defenses give up less than 300 yards a game. This has the potential of being very low-scoring and physical to say the least.

The Fiesta Bowl has featured some of the greatest games in college football history over the past decade. This year’s contest on New Year’s Day should be no different and will feature two of the biggest schools in the entire college spectrum as the 10-2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish face the 11-1 Ohio State Buckeyes at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. If fans want to see two legendary schools get together, they will be ready to be up by midday to start the New Year with this game at 11 a.m. local time in Arizona.

Notre Dame lost their season finale 38-36 to Stanford and their two losses came by a combined four points. DeShone Kizer has passed for 2,600 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions on the year and loves looking for Will Fuller in the pass game. Fuller has 56 catches for 1,145 yards and 13 touchdowns. C.J. Prosise has dealt with some injuries but still has 1,032 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns for the season. The Irish are averaging 34.8 points and 471.5 yards per game on offense and may need to score that much in this game to win it.

Ohio State pounded Michigan 42-13 to end the regular season on a good note. J.T. Barrett has regained the starting quarterback slot and has passed for 781 yards, ten touchdowns and three interceptions for the season while also rushing for 586 yards and 11 touchdowns. Michael Thomas has 49 catches for 709 yards and eight touchdowns as the big play target for the Buckeye quarterbacks while Ezekiel Elliott has shown that he could be a first-round NFL draft pick. Elliott has 1,672 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns for the year. Ohio State averages 35 points and 428.9 yards a game on offense in a potential shootout.

The granddaddy of them all is always the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. It is the game that fans have always looked forward to seeing to begin the New Year. This season’s version features two teams that have had great seasons and one that shocked many casual fans as the 11-2 Stanford Cardinal face the 12-1 Iowa Hawkeyes. The two teams finished No. 5 and 6 in the final college football playoff rankings and each will want to prove that they deserved a playoff spot.

Stanford is on a three-game winning streak after winning the Pac-12 title with a 41-22 win over USC. Christian McCaffrey is one of the best players in the whole country and leads the Cardinal in rushing and receiving yards. McCaffrey has rushed for 1,847 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 41 catches for 540 yards and four touchdowns. McCaffrey is also the team’s kick returner and seems to be on the field all the time. Kevin Hogan has paced the passing game with 2,644 yards through the air, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Stanford averages 37.2 points and 436 yards a game on offense.

Iowa went into the Big Ten title game undefeated but would fall in the closing seconds 17-14 to Michigan State. C.J. Beathard has passed for 2,570 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions this season and loves to find Matt VandeBerg deep. VandeBerg has 61 catches for 639 yards and three touchdowns. Jordan Canzeri should play after getting injured late in the season and has rushed for 976 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Hawkeyes haven’t been in the Rose Bowl since 1991 and average 32.1 points and 393.8 yards per game. Will the pressure get to them on the biggest stage?

The final game of the night on New Year’s Day is the Sugar Bowl at the Superdome in New Orleans. While the 10-2 Oklahoma State Cowboys and 9-3 Ole Miss Rebels have each had great seasons, there are plenty of people who wonder why these two teams are in a high-profile game like this on a national stage when they didn’t win their respective conferences. However, it is a game that is going to feature a ton of offense.

Oklahoma State lost their final two games of the regular season while giving up 103 points in the process. Mason Rudolph has passed for 3,591 yards, 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions but may not play due to injury which would open the door for J.W. Walsh to step in. James Washington leads the receivers with 52 catches for 1,077 yards and ten touchdowns while Chris Carson has 504 rushing yards and four touchdowns to pace the run game. The Cowboys average 41.2 points and 489.5 yards per game while giving up 429.5 yards a game. This could be a scoreboard operator’s nightmare.

Ole Miss won their final two games of the season with a 38-27 win over Mississippi State capping that off. The Rebels will be without star defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, who was suspended for the game and will declare for the NFL Draft. Chad Kelly has thrown for 3,740 yards, 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for the regular season and has Laquon Treadwell to catch his many passes. Treadwell has 76 receptions for 1,082 yards and eight touchdowns for the season. Jaylen Walton rushed for 690 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Rebels on the ground, which average 40.3 points and 514.8 yards a game but give up just 387.5 yards per contest.

When two traditional college football programs get together, it is a very big deal. It is an even bigger deal when it is in a bowl game and the TaxSlayer Bowl at EverBank Field in Jacksonville will feature a traditional matchup between the 7-5 Penn State Nittany Lions and the 9-3 Georgia Bulldogs. It is a game with two different styles that will make this game one worth watching early in the day on January 2.

Penn State lost their final three games of the season and got hammered 55-16 by Michigan State to end the regular season. Christian Hackenberg passed for 2,386 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions this year and had a 1,000-yard receiver in Chris Godwin. Godwin will pass the century mark in all likelihood during this game with his 63 catches for 968 yards and five touchdowns. On the ground, Saquon Barkley has run for 1,007 yards and seven touchdowns. Can the Nittany Lions break their losing streak in this game against a very difficult SEC opponent?

Georgia won four straight games to end the year which included a 13-7 win over Georgia Tech to finish the year strong. Greyson Lambert threw for 1,844 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions during the regular season and has a solid receiver in Malcolm Mitchell. Mitchell finished the regular season with 53 catches for 751 yards and four touchdowns. Sony Michel rushed for 1,076 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the run game. The Bulldogs are a favorite in this game because of the competition they played during the regular season. Will they get to that elusive ten-win mark with a win here?

There will be many bowl games that happen this holiday season that will see two teams play that don’t have the best records. The Liberty Bowl in Memphis may have a classic example of that but also will feature two very hot teams at the end of the season. The 6-6 Kansas State Wildcats will face the 7-5 Arkansas Razorbacks at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium on January 2 with both teams riding strong finishes to their regular seasons.

Kansas State won their final three games to get back to the .500 mark including a 24-23 win over West Virginia to end the regular season. Joe Hubener has passed for a team-high 1,837 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions this year. Deante Burton leads the pass game with 477 receiving yards on 34 catches with four touchdowns while Charles Jones has 656 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Can the Wildcats overcome the fact that they give up over 100 yards a game more than they accomplish on offense on average per game?

Arkansas won their season finale 28-3 over Missouri to get their seventh win of the year. Brandon Allen leads the Razorbacks passing attack with 3,125 yards through the air, 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Drew Morgan has 55 catches, 751 yards, ten touchdowns to lead the Arkansas receivers while Alex Collins has 1,392 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. Arkansas averages 35.2 points and 456.8 yards per game. The Kansas State defense has struggled all season. Will the Razorbacks just run away with this game and leave the Wildcats in the dust?

Football fans everywhere love seeing high-scoring games. The Alamo Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio has a matchup that is sure to involve a ton of points being scored as the 9-3 Oregon Ducks face off against the 10-2 TCU Horned Frogs on January 2. The two teams combined to average nearly 85 points a game this season. This game shouldn’t be any different.

Oregon is on a six-game winning streak going into this game and seems to have hit their stride again. Vernon Adams Jr. has passed for 2,446 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions this year and has found Bralon Addison quite a bit in the process. Addison has 58 catches for 775 yards and ten touchdowns. Royce Freeman has been a yardage magnet all year long with 1,706 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. The Ducks look unstoppable again and while TCU only gives up 26.1 points a game, Oregon averages 43.2 points and 548.2 yards per contest. It will be a big piece of the battle for victory.

TCU finished their regular season with a 27-21 double overtime win against Baylor. Doctson had 79 catches for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. Aaron Green rushed for 1,171 yards and ten touchdowns during the regular season and may need to take on a bigger role in this game. The Horned Frogs average 41.7 points and 564.3 yards per game but also only give up 396.7 yards a game.

There has been a trend of college football bowl games that are played in baseball stadiums. That trend will continue with the final bowl game outside of the national championship game in the Cactus Bowl which will be played at Chase Field in Phoenix on January 2. The 7-5 West Virginia Mountaineers will attempt to beat up on the home state and 6-6 Arizona State Sun Devils. The home of the Arizona Diamondbacks should be rocking and rolling for this one.

West Virginia had their winning streak snapped in a 24-23 loss to Kansas State to finish the regular season. Skyler Howard has thrown for 2,613 yards, 21 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while finding Shelton Gibson 33 times for 744 yards and eight touchdowns. The ground game has been controlled by Wendell Smallwood and his 1,447 rushing yards along with nine touchdowns. The Mountaineers average 33.3 points and 463.3 yards a game but only allow 386.2 yards per contest. This is a great chance to show the country that the losses were all due to a solid Big 12 Conference.

Arizona State had a two-game winning streak ended with a 48-46 loss to California as their regular season finale. Mike Bercovici threw for 3,442 yards, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions during the year. Devin Lucien was a very solid target for Bercovici with 57 catches for 930 yards and seven touchdowns while Demario Richard rushed for 1,050 yards and seven touchdowns. The Sun Devils average 33.8 points a game but give up 32.7 while averaging 473.8 yards on offense. Arizona State gives up 446.1 yards though which should bode well for West Virginia’s chances.

As Week 16 of the NFL season kicks off, there are several high-profile games on the slate. The Saturday night matchup between the 7-7 Washington Redskins and 6-8 Philadelphia Eagles should probably top that list as the NFC East lead and playoff berth is on the line. A Washington win along with a Giants loss on Sunday would clinch the division for the Redskins so this becomes a huge game for both sides as a Philadelphia win and Giants win would allow for a three-way tie going into Week 17.

Washington has won three of their last four games including two in a row with a 35-25 win over Buffalo last week. Kirk Cousins has passed for 3,625 yards, 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions for the season while hooking up with Jordan Reed on 74 occasions through the air for 778 yards and nine touchdowns. Alfred Morris has been splitting time with Matt Jones in the backfield but still leads the team in rushing yards with 602 along with a touchdown. The Redskins average 22.6 points and 355.6 yards a game but give up on average 23.7 points and 385.3 yards.

Philadelphia had a two-game winning streak snapped during a 40-17 loss to Arizona last weekend. Sam Bradford has thrown for 3,025 yards, 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions this season so far and likes looking the direction of Jordan Matthews. Matthews has 72 catches for 839 yards and five touchdowns. DeMarco Murray’s usage has gone down in recent weeks but leads the team with 606 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Look for more work out of Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles. The Eagles average 22.7 points and 372.8 yards per game but also give up 25.9 points and 409.1 yards. This will be one interesting game.

When the New York Jets switched coaches after last season and hired Todd Boyles, fans may have thought that there would be a long transition period. The Jets however are 9-5 going into Week 16 and will be at home at MetLife Stadium in a must-win game against the 12-2 New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon. The Jets are tied with the Chiefs and Steelers at 9-5 but each of those teams has a much easier schedule to finish the year so New York must win out to make the postseason probably.

New York has won four straight games and beat Dallas 19-16 on the road last week. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been a great leader for this Jets team with 3,428 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on the year. Brandon Marshall is quickly approaching 100 catches with 93 for the season to go with 1,261 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Chris Ivory has 951 rushing yards and seven touchdowns to lead the Jets on the ground and likely gets over the 1,000-yard mark in this game. The Jets score just 24.6 points per game on average but only give up 19.4 points and 341.9 yards per contest.

New England has won two straight and beat Tennessee 33-16 last week. Tom Brady has passed for 4,405 yards, 35 touchdowns and six interceptions and loves looking for Rob Gronkowski. Gronk has 66 catches for 1,072 yards and 11 touchdowns. The run game has been non-existent for the most part with Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount out for the season. James White has been a force out of the backfield with Brandon Bolden getting some carries. The Patriots are averaging 31.1 points and 408 yards per game on offense while giving up 19.2 points and 350.3 yards on defense. Which offense will come out on top against these top defenses?

The Carolina Panthers are on a crash course for history. Carolina allowed a 35-7 lead to slip away last week before winning 38-35 to keep their undefeated record for the 2015 season. The 14-0 Panthers will now look for win No. 15 as they hit the road to face the 7-7 Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome on Sunday afternoon. The question will be how much the Carolina starters play or will Coach Ron Rivera want to try to make history and continue on their quest to be the first 19-0 team ever?

Carolina’s 38-35 win over the Giants on the road allowed the team to keep the No. 1 seed in the NFC and they are just one win away from clinching homefield advantage throughout the entire playoffs. Cam Newton has thrown for 3,402 yards, 33 touchdowns and ten interceptions this season and looks the way of his tight end Greg Olsen early and often. Olsen has 71 catches for 1,048 yards and seven touchdowns. Jonathan Stewart has led the run game all season and has 989 rushing yards and six touchdowns but may not play due to injury. The Panthers are averaging 32.1 points and 389.6 yards a game on offense and only give up 334.6 yards a game on defense and just 19.9 points.

Atlanta broke a long six-game losing streak last week with a 23-17 win at Jacksonville and need to win out and get plenty of help to make the playoffs. Matt Ryan has passed for 3,951 yards, 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions this season so far while hitting Julio Jones 118 times for 1,544 yards and seven touchdowns. Devonta Freeman has become a top-flight running back and has 907 rushing yards and ten touchdowns for the season. The Falcons average 21.6 points and 386 yards a game on offense while giving up 22.3 points and 355.6 yards on defense. Atlanta would love to be the team to end Carolina’s perfect year.
