New Movie Trailers: ‘The Night Before’ Red Band, And More… [VIDEOS]

The Night Before Red Band Trailer Video

Yeah, it was a slow week for trailers–unless you were really excited about that one for Finding Dory, in which case you’ll be disappointed in this week’s roundup. We’re not disappointed, though. We have a promising holiday comedy, a snippet more of Star Wars, some bizarre imagery in a sci-fi franchise we’d almost forgotten about, and a quirky indie. Get a sneak peek for yourself…

The Night Before [New Red Band Trailer]

Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie get a new trailer for their Christmas comedy about pals who do all kinds of decadent things on Christmas Ev–including lots of drugs, which might partly be why this is a red-band trailer that’s not SFW. All three of these guys are coming off box-office disappointments, so you can expect to see them running around like maniacs promoting this one. We’re kind of sold…

Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV Spot

This is why nobody’s in a hurry to release trailers this week. A mere TV spot for the next Star Wars–with the commercial grandly titled “Every Generation Has a Story”–is now an official big deal just because it has a few more new images. Well, there might be something interesting there, and it’s news just because Luke Skywalker still isn’t to be seen. We have a few theories about that we’d like to share with you…

The Divergent Series: Allegiant

Shailene Woodley and her Divergent series is back–but we’re a little confused, because now Tris escapes Chicago with Four and seemingly finds out that all the other Divergent movies suddenly don’t make any sense. We do, however, like giant weaponry floating in the air, so don’t be surprised to see us at a screening…

Landmine Goes Click

And here’s one that we’re going to be watching tonight at the New York City Horror Film Festival. A happy American tourist couple get their vacation screwed up when the guy steps on a landmine in a former war zone and then gets the worst kind of help coming along. We’re looking forward to this one as an offbeat revenge film. Take a look for yourself…

2nd Quarter- 14:06 left: The Bulldogs try a 50-yard field goal and it falls short. The game remains scoreless.

End of 1st Quarter: Yards have been hard to come by so far in this one. Mississippi State has 132 yards while Alabama has 35 through the first 15 minutes of play. The Bulldogs though will start in Crimson Tide territory to begin the second quarter.

1st Quarter- 1:40 left: The first big mistake comes on a Bulldogs fumble. Alabama ball near midfield.

1st Quarter- 1:51 left: A scoreless first quarter continues as the two teams trade punts. Mississippi State will have the ball at their own 42.

1st Quarter- 5:49 left: Jake Coker tries to go deep for Alabama and gets intercepted by Brandon Bryant.

Pregame

Saturday afternoon brings a very important Southeastern Conference game as the Alabama Crimson Tide face the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Davis Wade Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for just after 3:30 p.m. Eastern.

The Ohio State Buckeyes went into Saturday’s game on the road against the Illinois Fighting Illini knowing that their last two games were going to be very difficult in facing Michigan State and Michigan. Ohio State took care of business behind Ezekiel Elliott’s two touchdown runs and returned to Columbus with a 28-3 win to improve to 10-0 for the season and 6-0 in the Big Ten Conference. Illinois dropped to 5-5 and 2-4 in the conference and is still one win short of clinching a bowl berth.

It took a little bit of time for the Buckeyes to get started but with 3:43 left in the first quarter, J.T. Barrett found Michael Thomas for a 24-yard touchdown. After an Illinois field goal in the second quarter, Barrett stuck again with a six-yard touchdown run with just 50 seconds left in the first half to give Ohio State a 14-3 halftime lead. Elliott would take over in the second half with a one-yard plunge in the third quarter but adding a ten-yard run early in the fourth as he finished with 181 yards rushing for the afternoon.

Barrett finished 15-for-23 for 150 yards while Illini quarterback Wes Lunt went 23-for-47 for 241 yards. Desmond Cain has ten catches for Illinois for 102 yards while Thomas ended up with six catches for 76 yards and the receiving touchdown. The Buckeyes go home to host Michigan State next Saturday in a key East Division showdown while Illinois will hit the road to face Minnesota in a game that could decide which team makes a bowl game.

On paper, it would have appeared that the Florida State Seminoles would have an easy time with the NC State Wolfpack. However, the Wolfpack showed that they were a force to be reckoned with as they jumped all over the Seminoles early as Everett Golson kept turning the ball over. Sean Maguire took over and Florida State took off, scoring 17 straight points to pull away for a 27-17 that moved Florida State to 8-2 for the season and 6-2 in the ACC. NC State drops to 6-4 and 2-4 in conference play.

The Seminoles did take an early lead on a Dalvin Cook 13-yard touchdown run but Jacoby Brissett would throw a two-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Samuels and followed that up by rushing for a two-yard score of his own to give NC State a 17-7 lead after the first 15 minutes of action. Cook scored from 30 yards out with 5:17 to play in the half and after a Roberto Aguayo 40-yard field goal, the game was tied at 17 by the half.

Aguayo gave the Seminoles the lead for good midway through the third quarter on a 26-yard field goal before Maguire found Kermit Whitfield for a 27-yard touchdown score to make it a two-possession game. In the fourth quarter, Maguire found Whitfield again on a 45-yard connection to put the game out of reach. Whitfield had six catches for 117 yards and the two touchdowns. Cook broke the Florida State single-season rush record during the game as he finished with 138 yards on the ground. Maguire went 18-for-28 for 231 yards, two touchdowns and a touchdown. Brissett would end his day 27-for-47 for 209 yards.

Florida State will play a non-conference game against Chattanooga next week while NC State will host Syracuse.

Harvard Marching Band Spells Out ‘Penis’ During Game Against Penn [PHOTO]

Harvard Penis Marching Band

Army played Tulane today and took to the field while also waving the French flag as a show of solidarity in the wake of the terrorist attacks on Paris. Harvard took to the field today and had their marching band spell out the word “penis.” We do not know why. “Penis” isn’t French for “bravery” or “courage” or anything else.

But, damn. There it is—as caught on Jacob Adler’s Twitter account. One big penis on the field while Harvard was playing the University of Pennsylvania.

It didn’t work, though. The Penn Quakers–whose name can’t even be reasonably shorted to “PenIs”–still broke Harvard’s 22-game winning streak with a 35-25 victory.

This is, of course, the most noteworthy penis incident from a marching band since Kansas State tried to form a view of a Jayhawk (that being the mascot of their rivals at the University of Kansas) being attacked by the U.S.S. Enterprise from Star Trek, and the Enterprise came out looking like a giant penis. (Yeah, video’s here.)

Actually, it took us a few days to think that maybe it wasn’t an accident, and the band was really trying to make it look like the Jayhawk was trying to sexually service the giant penis. Is that really possible? It is, right? We’re thinking that playing on college football teams might just be for people who don’t have the bloodthirsty competitive spirit to make it onto a marching band…

It came out looking a little less specific. In fact, a lot of people commented, “Goodness, that seems to be a large penis attacking a Jayhawk.” Not everyone in the stands phrased it so politely. Also, we’re pretty sure that the accidental imagery violated some kind of Title VI sexual harassment rule.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish knew that they would have to win out to have any chance at the college football playoff. The Irish hosted the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday at home in South Bend and behind a huge day from Josh Adams in the run game, Notre Dame improved to 9-1 for the season with a 28-7 win. Wake Forest fell to 3-7 with the loss but the Fighting Irish are well on their way to moving up the playoff rankings if they can keep on winning.

DeShone Kizer had a game-management kind of day, going just 13-for-19 passing for 111 yards but did rush for a 12-yard score late in the first quarter to open the scoring. Under a minute later, Notre Dame would score again when Andrew Trumbetti intercepted John Wolford’s pass and returned it 28 yards for a touchdown and it was 14-0. In the second quarter after Wake pinned the Irish back to their own 1-yard line, Adams went off on a 98-yard touchdown run to electrify the capacity crowd. He would finish with 141 yards on 17 carries.

Wolford would rush in for a one-yard score of his own for the lone Wake Forest score before Kizer had his second rushing touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter. Wolford would finish 19-for-30 passing for 219 yards and the critical interception. Notre Dame will host Boston College next week under the lights while Wake Forest will have the pleasure of going to No. 1-ranked Clemson. Clemson is the only team to beat Notre Dame this season.

Clemson vs. Syracuse: Game Recap, Stats & Highlights

There was going to be a lot of pressure on the Clemson Tigers as the season wound down with their perfect record and chance to make the college football playoff. The Tigers hit the road on Saturday as they went to the Carrier Dome to play the Syracuse Orange. Syracuse would give Clemson everything they could handle but there was simply too much Deshaun Watson at the end of the day as the Tigers improved to 10-0 on the year with a 37-27 win. Syracuse would fall to 3-7 with the defeat.

The two teams combined for 35 points during a wild first quarter. Wayne Gallman scored from 11 yards out and Watson added a three-yard score shortly after that to give Clemson a 14-0 lead just two minutes into the game. Syracuse though would respond with two touchdowns of their own to tie the game when Ervin Philips rushed for a 28-yard score and Zack Mahoney would score from ten yards out. Watson hit Charone Peake on a four-yard score with five seconds left in the quarter though to end the scoring spree. Peake finished with seven catches for 120 yards while Artavis Scott had 11 catches for 72 yards.

Watson threw a 40-yard pass to Deon Cain early in the second quarter which would give the Tigers a lead that they wouldn’t give up. Watson finished 34-for-46 for 360 yards through the air while rushing 14 times for 105 yards on the ground during a complete Heisman Trophy-like effort. Mahoney went 8-for-21 at the quarterback position for the Orange while George Morris II rushed for 80 yards. Clemson will host Wake Forest next week while Syracuse will hit the road to face NC State.

Final: Oklahoma 44, Baylor 34

Baker Mayfield boosted himself into Heisman Trophy consideration with a night for the ages in Waco to lead the Sooners to the win as they moved to 9-1 for the season and 6-1 in the Big 12. Mayfield went 24-for-34 for 270 yards through the air with three touchdowns. Samaje Perine rushed for 166 yards on 28 carries while Sterling Shepard had 14 catches for 177 yards for Oklahoma. Jarrett Stidham was 16-for-27 for 257 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for Baylor, who falls to 8-1 overall for the season and likely out of college football playoff consideration. Shock Linwood added 103 yards rushing for the Bears but it wasn’t enough. Oklahoma will face TCU next week while Baylor will travel to Oklahoma State.

4th Quarter- 2:09 left: Oklahoma converts twice on 3rd down to keep the clock running and is going to end Baylor’s perfect season.

4th Quarter- 4:35 left: On Baylor’s first play, Stidham is intercepted by Ahmed Thomas and that could be the defining moment for the Sooners in this one.

4th Quarter- Oklahoma 44, Baylor 34: Baker Mayfield finds Dimitri Flowers after scrambling around for a huge touchdown with 4:47 left to play from seven yards out. It’s going to take some very quick scoring from the Bears now to win this one.

4th Quarter- 6:58 left: The Sooners are driving and are deep in Baylor territory looking to extend their lead late. Sterling Shepard has 13 catches for 161 yards for Oklahoma.

4th Quarter- Oklahoma 37, Baylor 34: Stidham connects with Jay Lee for a 17-yard touchdown and it is a tight one with 10:29 to play. Stidham is now 16-for-26 for 257 yards.

4th Quarter- 12:38 left: The Bears get a huge kickoff return but go backwards after that and can’t capitalize but pin the Sooners deep in their own territory after a punt.

4th Quarter- Oklahoma 37, Baylor 27: Austin Siebert hits a 33-yard field goal and it is two-possession game for the Sooners with 14:47 to play in regulation. This looks like a game that will come down to the final seconds.

End of 3rd Quarter: Oklahoma gets an interception of Stidham and is in scoring range yet again as the final 15 minutes of the game begin. Samaje Perine has 143 yards rushing through three quarters for Oklahoma while Baker Mayfield has thrown for 220 yards. Storm Linwood has rushed for 108 yards for Baylor while Jarrett Stidham has 213 passing yards.

3rd Quarter- 1:32 left: Baylor gets the ball back and has a chance to tie the game now.

3rd Quarter- Oklahoma 34, Baylor 27: Stidham hits his big 400-pound target in LaQuan McGowan on a five-yard touchdown and the Oklahoma lead is cut in half with 2:49 left in the third quarter.

3rd Quarter- 3:12 left: Baylor converts on 4th down after a touchdown pass was dropped in the end zone and look ready to cut the Oklahoma lead in half.

3rd Quarter- 4:47 left: Oklahoma goes for it on 4th down looking for the dagger but the Bears defense stands up and holds to give their offense a chance to respond.

3rd Quarter- 6:49 left: The Baylor offense can’t seem to get going again after the touchdown to open the half and has to punt it away. Another Sooners touchdown and this game may be quickly out of reach.

3rd Quarter- Oklahoma 34, Baylor 20: Perine finds a hole and goes 55 yards for another Sooners touchdown which gives Oklahoma a big two-touchdown lead with 8:53 left in the period.

3rd Quarter- Oklahoma 27, Baylor 20: Mayfield finds Shepard on a seven-yard touchdown pass and the Sooners retake the lead with 9:52 left in the quarter. This looks a lot like Big 12 Conference football at its best now. Shepard has ten catches already for the game.

3rd Quarter- Baylor 20, Oklahoma 20: Devin Chafin has done all the damage getting in the endzone, his third touchdown of the night ties the game up for the Bears. A 6-yard run and it is a brand new game again early in the second half.

Halftime: Oklahoma 20, Baylor 13

Mayfield has been a one-man wrecking crew for Oklahoma in the first half going 15-for-20 through the air for 182 yards. Samaje Perine has 47 yards on the ground for the Sooners. Sterling Shepard has nine catches for 118 yards and a touchdown in the pass game. Storm Linwood had 72 rushing yards on 12 carries while Jarrett Stidham went 9-for-13 for 103 yards for Baylor.

2nd Quarter- Oklahoma 20, Baylor 13: Baker Mayfield runs it in himself from two yards out to give the Sooners the lead with 28 seconds to go in the first half.

2nd Quarter- Baylor 13, Oklahoma 13: Chafin scores his second touchdown of the night after a personal foul penalty on the Sooners allowed the drive to continue with 2:58 left.

2nd Quarter- 3:23 left: The Bears down inside the Oklahoma 10-yard line looking to score before halftime.

2nd Quarter- 6:25 left: A huge turnover as Mayfield gets intercepted looking for Shepard. Baylor is in business with a chance to tie the game before the intermission.

2nd Quarter- Oklahoma 13, Baylor 6: Sterling Shepard gets loose and scores on a 38-yard pass from Mayfield with 8:53 before halftime. Baylor must be hoping the rain slows down soon so their pass game can be functional.

2nd Quarter- 13:37 left: Baylor gets the ball back after an Oklahoma punt. Will their offense finally begin to break out?

End of 1st Quarter: Storm Linwood has 56 yards rushing on seven carries for Baylor through the first 15 minutes while Jarrett Stidham is 5-for-7 for 52 yards. Paraje has five carries for 27 yards for a touchdown for the Sooners. Baker Mayfield is 6-for-8 for 48 yards so far.

1st Quarter- 1:52 left: Rain is pouring down. How will this change the pass game for both teams?

1st Quarter- 6:05 left: An early turnover by Baylor and Oklahoma has great field possession looking to add to their lead.

1st Quarter- Oklahoma 7, Baylor 6: Samaje Perine takes it in from six yards out and the Sooners take the lead with 6:38 left in the first quarter of play.

1st Quarter- 9:00 left: Oklahoma is racing down the field themselves on a wet night with rain coming down on and off.

1st Quarter- Baylor 6, Oklahoma 0: Devin Chafin scores from five yards out and the Bears are on the board early on in what could easily be a shootout in Waco.

LSU vs. Arkansas: Game Recap, Stats & Highlights

The LSU Tigers wanted to get back on the winning track after losing to Alabama last week. The Arkansas Razorbacks however had different idea. Arkansas jumped all over LSU early on in Death Valley and scored a 31-14 win on the road in SEC play. LSU falls to 7-2 for the season while Arkansas improves to 6-4 as the Razorbacks continue their rebound from an early rough start to the season.

Arkansas got on the board midway through the first quarter when Brandon Allen found Dominique Reed for a 52-yard touchdown.  In the second quarter, it was all about Alex Collins and the Razorbacks running game. Collins scored an 80-yard touchdown on the ground and added a five-yard run later in the quarter to give Arkansas a 21-0 lead which would be more than enough. Collins would finish the night with 141 yards rushing on 16 carries while Allen had 141 yards passing while going 9-for-16.

Leonard Fournette had another rough night with 91 yards rushing on 19 carries. Malachi Dupre had eight catches for 109 yards and a touchdown for LSU, who will play at Ole Miss next week now with a two-game losing streak. Arkansas will host Mississippi State next week and will look to build on their four-game winning streak.

Packers vs. Lions: What Time, TV Channel & Preview

0

Packers vs Lions tv channel time date

The last few seasons have seen some great battles between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. Recently, the two teams have hit some hard times during the 2015 season. The 6-2 Packers have lost two straight games while the Lions are 1-7 and have basically fired their whole coaching staff and front office. The two teams will play on Sunday at Lambeau Field with one team getting into the much-needed win column for their confidence moving forward.

Green Bay has dropped games to Denver and Carolina on the road and returns home now looking to rebound. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 1,937 yards, 19 touchdowns and three interceptions this season and has looked the way of James Jones a lot with Jordy Nelson out for the year. Jones has 24 catches for 483 yards and six touchdowns. In the run game, the big story is that James Starks is now at the top of the depth chart over Eddie Lacy. Starks has rushed for 334 yards and a touchdown this season. This is a big game for the Packers to win especially after the last two weeks.

Detroit is just hoping to play the second half of the season as a complete opposite of the first half. Matthew Stafford has had his struggles with 13 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions to go with 2,083 passing yards. Calvin Johnson has been solid with 48 catches for 659 yards and three touchdowns but is finding himself being Stafford’s only true target. Ameer Abdullah is leading the running game with 225 rushing yards and a touchdown but the Lions have struggled running the ball all season long. Steelers vs Browns tv channel time date
The Pittsburgh Steelers have found themselves struggling with injuries to key players in recent weeks. First it was Le’Veon Bell getting hurt and will miss the rest of the season and last week, it was Ben Roethlisberger with a foot injury that will likely sideline him for a week or two. Pittsburgh however will take their 5-4 record into an AFC North battle on Sunday against the 2-7 Cleveland Browns looking to improve on their chances to make the playoffs in 2015.

The Steelers won 38-35 last week against the Raiders and will need Landry Jones to play great at quarterback this week. Jones is 28-for-47 this season for 456 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. With Bell out, De’Angelo Williams has revitalized his career and has 480 rushing yards and four touchdowns as Bell’s replacement due to injury and suspension. It is clear however who the Pittsburgh quarterbacks are going to throw to. Antonio Brown has 69 catches for 1,002 yards and three touchdowns which puts him on pace to get very close to 2,000 yards for the season.

The Browns lost 31-10 to the Bengals last week and have a few extra days to prepare for this game. If Josh McCown is healthy, he will start for Cleveland. McCown has 1,897 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions this season so far. Travis Benjamin has been the leading target for Browns signal callers with 41 catches for 623 yards and four touchdowns while on the ground, it has been Isaiah Crowell leading the way. Crowell has 333 rushing yards and a touchdown. Cleveland is in desperate need of some positive play as they attempt to be competitive in the division.

Giants vs Patriots tv channel time date
Sunday afternoon will bring the next chapter in a saga between two teams that didn’t look likely a decade ago. The New England Patriots and New York Giants now a rich history now after playing each other in two Super Bowls with the Giants winning both including ending the Patriots’ perfect season. The two teams will play at MetLife Stadium as the Patriots are once again undefeated at 8-0 while the Giants bring a 5-4 record into the game.

New England beat Washington 27-10 last week at home in playing their third straight home game. Tom Brady has played like he has a chip on his shoulder all season long with 2,709 passing yards, 22 touchdowns and two interceptions. Rob Gronkowski is playing his normal role as Brady’s favorite receiver with 44 catches for 693 yards and seven touchdowns while LeGarrette Blount will handle the bulk of the carries now with Dion Lewis out for the season. Blount has 447 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Brady would like to beat the Giants more than any other team right now probably.

The Giants scored a 32-18 road win against the Buccaneers last week as they come into this game. Eli Manning has 2,339 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions for the season. Odell Beckham Jr. is playing like a Pro Bowler again with 59 catches, 759 yards and seven touchdowns while the run game has had some issues but Rashad Jennings has 364 yards on the ground and a touchdown. This is likely going to come down to a Brady vs. Manning showdown which is what every fan wants to see anyway. The Giants would love to have a chance to play New England a third time in the Super Bowl.

Broncos vs Chiefs tv channel time date
There has been a fierce rivalry between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos for a very long time now with AFC West title hopes usually on the line. It has been a rough season for Kansas City with injuries but they will go to Denver on Sunday looking to improve on their 3-5 record as they face the 7-1 Broncos, who are coming off their first loss of the season. It is a game that Denver will be looking forward to as a stepping stone looking to regain a bye for the playoffs.

The Chiefs had last week off after pounding Detroit 45-10 in London two weeks ago. Alex Smith has always been a game manager and continues to do a fine job at that with 1,969 passing yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions this season. The rushing game is all on Charcandrick West these days with Jamaal Charles out for the season with a torn ACL. West has 288 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Smith has finally found a wide receiver to target this season in Jeremy Maclin, who has 42 catches for 566 yards and two touchdowns. The Chiefs have won two straight and are gaining momentum.

Denver is coming off of a 27-24 loss at Indianapolis where Peyton Manning fell three yards short of becoming the NFL’s all-time passing yards leader. He will get that mark in this game to add to his 2,145 passing yards, nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions for the season. It has been a struggle for the future Hall of Famer. The run game has been a combination of Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson. Hillman leads the team in rushing yards with 384 to go with four touchdowns. Demaryius Thomas is clearly Manning’s favorite target with 61 catches for 745 yards and a touchdown. Records will be broken by Manning in this one.

Seahawks vs Cardinals tv channel time date
The Seattle Seahawks have been the NFC’s team in the Super Bowl the last two seasons. The 2015 season hasn’t been as kind to Seattle with a 4-4 record. On Sunday, the Seahawks will try to use their 12th man at home to their advantage as they face the 6-2 Arizona Cardinals under the lights at CenturyLink Field. Arizona is flying high and wants to make a statement in this game to Seattle that they will be the team to beat in the NFC West.

Arizona won at Cleveland their last time out 34-20 and has won two straight. Carson Palmer has turned his career around since going to the desert and has 2,386 passing yards this season along with 20 touchdowns and six interceptions. Larry Fitzgerald may be getting older but is still very productive with 55 catches for 706 yards and four touchdowns while Chris Johnson has taken over the lead running back role from Andre Ellington. Johnson has 676 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The Cardinals realize that this is a game that could be a turning point to the season good or bad depending on the outcome.

The Seahawks had last week off after winning 13-12 over the Cowboys. Russell Wilson has had to run all over the place to avoid sacks through the first half of the season and has 1,878 passing yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions when he can throw it. Wilson has discovered his new, big target in Jimmy Graham a lot recently. Graham has 450 receiving yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, it is all about Beast Mode and Marshawn Lynch, who has 375 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. Seattle would be in great shape to win the division again if they can win this one at home.

What time is the Seahawks vs. Cardinals game?

The Seahawks vs. Cardinals game will begin at 8:30 p.m. Eastern/5:30 p.m. Pacific.

Ronda Rousey Knock Out KO

Ronda Rousey is no longer the UFC bantamweight champion—after Holly Holm scored a surprising second-round knockout in a really amazing battle of the blondes during UFC 193 in Melbourne.

Ronda hadn’t seen an opponent make it past the first round since Miesha Tate in 2013, so she might’ve known that she was in trouble. Holm managed to get past Rousey’s notorious armbar, and showed off some seriously superior footwork.

We’ll probably hear some talk from Rousey in the next few days about being overconfident. It won’t help her previous fine reputation that she refused to touch gloves with Holm. Maybe that tense weigh-in footage from yesterday really wasn’t just hype.

For now, though, check out the UFC’s latest champ–who isn’t shy about showing off her happiness in the ring….

SNL Highlight: Tribute To Paris And ‘First Got Horny 2 U’ [VIDEO]

SNL Saturday Night Live Paris Tribute Video

Elizabeth Banks hosted Saturday Night Live last night–and, sadly, it was one of those shows that required a more somber cold opening. SNL couldn’t just launch with the funny in the wake of the terrorism attacks in Paris on Friday night. Instead, Cecily Strong came out to deliver a somber salute to the City of Lights before the opening credits ran.

That’s always a somber sight for viewers, too, with the show previously having to handle the first SNL after 9/11, and a Christmas episode that began with a children’s choir in the wake of the Newton school shootings. Here’s the classy way SNL handled things last night…

Yeah, that was the highlight. The show sure didn’t get any better. It was another lousy show in what’s now even painful to analyze as a rebuilding year. The comic high point, also sadly, was a reliable gimmick with Infinity + 5 (with Elizabeth Banks joining Cecily Strong, Vanessa Bayer, Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon) performing “First Got Horny 2 U.”

Yeah, it’s another pop-band look back at awkward adolescence. We’ll probably get another one with a Thanksgiving theme next week, just like last year’s pop parody. Anyway, this kind of thing always works. It can’t even count as a pleasant surprise, though…

Baylor OU Fake Injury Video

Baylor went up against Oklahoma University last night on ESPN Saturday Night Football—and we goof on ESPN a lot, but let’s give credit to the announcers refusing to go along when Baylor safety Terrell Burk seemingly decided to fake an injury.

Actually, it looks more like Terrell’s teammate Ryan Reid decided to tell the safety that he was injured, and then down went Terrell in a very dramatic fashion. Well, not too dramatic. Terrell’s wimpy writhing has us reconsidering the acting career of Rob Gronkowksi. We don’t take these charges lightly, but we’re happy to join in after even ESPN commentators felt compelled to call Terrell a fake.

Ryan Reid, incidentally, disagrees. Here’s a Tweet where he offers a rebuttal…

Here’s the tale of the tape. Marvel for yourself at why we don’t think Terrell is likely to miss another game. Glad to see the Sooners win this one…
