BGSU had a pretty amazing win over Purdue yesterday, rallying in the final 44 seconds to a 33-28 victory. That was also Bowling Green’s second win over a Big Ten team this season, after they beat Maryland in an impressive 48-27 win.
And so we get the only t-shirt that we can imagine actually being acceptable as a big celebration of two winning games. We’d say the Falcons have earned the right to do a little trolling. We also think it’s a fine idea to support these scrappy l’il underdogs by buying one of these shirts, which the BGSU Bookstores are selling right now. Fortunately, the fine folks at the NPR Skunk Bear science blog have put together the graphic below to let you know exactly when to start mooning over the moon. The “penumbra,” incidentally, indicates when you’ll see the Earth’s first faint shadow. The “Umbra” is when you’ll see the shadow that’s all dark and red and bloody. We think that’s right. Science is hard.
And if you need something even more specific, your tax dollars are also at work at the U.S. Naval Observatory, where they have an online calculator where you can enter your location. This’ll still give you a ballpark figure, though, which is good enough for the scientists here at COED…
NASA is expected to reveal a major scientific finding on Mars at a press conference today at 11:30 a.m. EDT at the James Webb Auditorium at NASA Headquarters in Washington D.C.
Participating in the news conference will be Jim Green, NASA director of planetary science; Michael Meyer, lead scientist for the Mars Exploration Program; Lujendra Ojha of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta; Mary Beth Wilhelm of NASA’s Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif. and the Georgia Institute of Technology and Alfred McEwen, principal investigator for the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
So what the hell is this all about? Well, late last week NASA tweeted out this ambiguous message:
Naturally fellow tweeters went wild, mostly hoping it has something to do with aliens (duh, us too):
Sadly, we doubt this has anything to do with little green people trying to take over Earth, but hey, who knows right?!
According to USA Today,
The revelation will more likely deal with water on the Red Planet, since Ojha, Wilhelm and McEwen are among the authors of a paper asserting that images captured by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter show the existence of flowing water on the planet’s surface.
Such a discovery could have an important impact on NASA’s quest to send a manned mission to Mars by the 2030s.

Bryce Harper and Jonathan Papelbon’s fight was caught on video last night after the two started yelling in the dugout. Papelbon was upset that Bryce didn’t run out a play at first, and let him know about it. Harper, who’s actually the only bright spot on an abysmal Nationals squad, wasn’t having that.
So he shouted “let’s f*cking go” to Papelbon aka the craziest, worst player on the roster who then proceeded to toss Harper around. Went straight for the throat.

Samsung Pay will not be available for download via the Samsung Store or the Google Play Store.
Instead, turn on your wifi and go to settings, then search, type “software update,” and update your system software. This should install Samsung Pay on your phone. The update is 660.90 MB on our phone.
On future devices, Samsung Pay will be automatically uploaded to Samsung devices.

Apparently pulling tightly on the hairline can cause traction alopecia, or gradual hair loss. According to dermatologist Sabra Sullivan, “They’re putting traction on the hair follicles that the hair is not really meant to take.”
The condition is typically seen more with women who wear tight hairstyles, but thanks to the man bun fad, traction alopecia is now more common among men.
But for those who just can’t get away from the idea of wanting to look like Jared Leto, Sullivan suggests to make it a bit looser. “The idea is not to pull so tight… You don’t want to have to go for hair transplants later.”
Just make it stop, please.

Fetty Wap seemingly came out of nowhere this past year, bursting on to the scene with hit single after hit single, but how much could he have earned in just one year, and what is Fetty Wap’s net worth right now?
Fetty Wap, born Willie Maxwell, is an American rapper from Paterson, New Jersey. He is best known for his 2014 hit single “Trap Queen”, which peaked at number 2 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 in May 2015, followed by the top 10 singles “679” and “My Way”. Initially starting off as only a rapper, he later decided to start singing, simply because he “wanted to do something different”. As for his unique stage name, the nickname “Fetty” which is slang for money, was given to him as he was known in Paterson for making money. As for the “Wap” in Fetty Wap, it serves as a tribute to his favorite rapper, Gucci Mane. Famously, when he was a child, Fetty Wap developed glaucoma in both eyes. He revealed in a 2015 interview that doctors were unable to save his left eye and instead fitted him with an ocular prosthesis. On top of everything, when asked how long he has been rapping, Fetty Wap has said it’s only been “a couple of years now”.

With such a meteoric rise in such a short span of time, it will be hard for Fetty Wap to continue to have this level of success. Today NASA announced a pretty huge scientific finding about Mars, and sadly it had nothing to do with aliens. Well, not directly.
In a press conference today in Washington D.C., scientists announced that liquid water has been found on the red planet, making past and present life a viable possibility.
“We now know Mars was once a planet very much like Earth with warm salty seas and fresh water lakes,” Jim Green, planetary science director at NASA, said at a news conference. “But something has happened to Mars, it lost its water.”
The agency called a news conference for Monday to discuss what was referred to as “a major science finding.” Prior to the announcement, little was revealed regarding what the finding might be.
Imagery taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter confirmed that salty water flowing down various slopes is responsible for seasonal dark streaks seen in spots on the planet’s surface.

Researchers don’t yet know where the water is coming from.
“Something is hydrating these salts, and it appears to be these streaks that come and go with the seasons,” Lujendra Ojha, a researcher from Georgia Tech said in a statement “This means the water on Mars is briny, rather than pure. It makes sense because salts lower the freezing point of water.”

The brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon just capped off their first annual Paddy Murphy Philanthropy Week at Michigan State University. As one of the first philanthropy events of the year at MSU, it’s good to see Greek Life getting back to doing something positive.
The campaign is currently at currently at $4,500+ and well on its way to the goal of $10,000. While the fraternity competes and is involved in many philanthropy events around campus every year, the recently reestablished house hadn’t had an event of its own until now. But thanks to the inspiring story of one MSU SAE brother’s recent cancer diagnosis, the SAE brothers took action.
The week centered around the legend of Paddy Murphy, a decorated member of SAE who became part of Al Capone’s bootlegging ring. One day Murphy was given the order to take out one of the FBI officers investigating Capone, but Paddy refused because he knew the FBI agent was a fellow SAE brother. When he refused Capone’s wishes, Murphy was killed by another member in Capone’s ring; sacrificing his own life in order to protect his brother.
Many chapters across nation participate in Paddy Murphy Week but all are unique in their own way. The week at MSU featured several events, highlighted by a relay race event which took place around MSU’s campus. Several sororities competed in the day long event and the race was won narrowly by Kappa Kappa Gamma.
The sororities who participated also created team banners, which is a tradition of the event that happens at many chapters. Points were awarded to the winners.
And as a show of their appreciation to the sororities for their hard work, the SAE brothers had a special get together.
Another highlight was a performance by SAE alumnus Quinn, an up-and-coming artist who’s latest EP Change of Scenery can be found on Sound Cloud.
All the weeks’ proceeds will be donated to The Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, in addition to a $1,000 prize from SAE to Alpha Phi, the winning sorority of the week’s activities, who are free to donate to whatever organization they choose.
The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is an organization specializing in cancer research and treatment. Memorial Sloan Ketter recently helped save SAE alumnus Alex Berlin’s leg after he was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer in his calf. Since his diagnosis his senior year, Alex has been battling the cancer and as of now is, thankfully, completely cancer free.
The Sigma Alpha Epsilon brothers at Michigan State University couldn’t be happier with the way their inaugural Paddy Murphy Week went, and would like to thank all those who contributed or participated. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
Rudimental is a band that likes to put the world in a good mood, so if you’re not up for smiles and infectious head bounces then We The Generation is not for you. But if you’re down for feeling good and positive about life, you’re in for a real treat. We the Generation is an 11 track album that focuses on the bands’ message to spread love, something their drum and bass sound is built to do.
We The Generation is Rudimental’s second album and thankfully doesn’t depart from their big band sounding drum and bass hooks or backbone they owned with Home. Instead, they seemed to increase their focus more in the uptempo nature of WTG. That’s something they let you know with the first song “I Will Love You (feat. Will Heard).” Not only does the song title seem to embody the entire idea of WTG, it’s my favorite song on the album.
Sure, you’ve got a couple of slower, mellower tracks like “Common Emotion (feat. MNEK)” and even “Go Far (feat. Will Heard)” but even those get a little funky.
The biggest track on the album is without a doubt “Bloodstream,” a single they made with the oh so hot now Ed Sheeran. Its subject matter might be a little more melancholy than the rest of WTG, but even this cut will get your blood pumping. Big band, big drums, big horns–they’re all there along with the haunting voice of Ed.
If the theme of “Bloodstream” talks about the dangers of what can happen when someone doesn’t find love, WTG spends the rest of the time talking about why positivity and friends are so important. Even Dizee Rascal, who unfortunately phoned in a less than impressive verse on “Love Ain’t Just a Word,” raps about how people need to stop having so much hate in their hearts. Thankfully that one feature is the only complaint I have with the album, and that’s mostly because “Love Ain’t Just a Word” is one of the better cuts on the album.
The truth is that positive messages becomes a lot easier to do when the music itself sounds fun. In fact, the group finished recording the album in Jamaica–a place that knows a thing or two about spreading love.
With We The Generation, you get the feeling that Rudimental asks its listeners and audience to help be the change they want to be in the world, simply by finding someone and letting them know they care. But rather than doing it with acoustic guitars and tambourines, they’re proving that you can spread the love on the dance floor.
Rudimental is in NYC for two nights this week, Webster Hall on Tuesday and Warsaw on Wednesday. Do yourself a favor and buy two tickets then bring someone you care about.
Rutgers University announced Monday it was fending off a distributed denial-of-service attack that crippled its Internet and Wi-Fi access. The latest cyberattack on a major U.S. research institution comes after a number of similar hacks against Rutgers, a school of approximately 65,000 undergraduate students. “We are currently experiencing a denial-of-service event affecting Internet connectivity and Wi-Fi access,” Rutgers said on its Facebook page. “OIT is working to resolve the issue, and we will inform the Rutgers community as soon as we have more information.”
The hack also affected Sakai and eCollege, two online learning tools used to administer homework, tests and other communication. So, to my Creative Non Fiction and Soul Psychology teachers, that’s why my homework’s late.
It is the first attack on Rutgers since the university invested $3 million (?!?!?!??!?!?!) to better protect its computer networks after at least four attacks during the past school year. That upgrade was the primary reason Rutgers raised tuition and fees by 2.3 percent for the 2015-16 school year, NJ.com reported in August, with a hacker known as Exfocus claiming responsibility for the problems.
“Honestly, I am sitting here dumbfounded at the amount of incompetence displayed once again by the Rutgers IT department,” Exfocus wrote in a post on Pastebin in April. “I could run circles around all of you with my eyes closed, and one leg amputated.”
Exfocus just perfectly summed up the way everyone feels about Rutgers.
Like, the worst part is that Rutgers is actually an incredible school (top 50 in the world) and the degree I receive from there is going to take me very far in life (already got a sweeeeeeet gig at this place), but our publicity is just so damn bad that it makes you wonder if maybe Rutgers is actually just f*cking with everybody? Maybe? No? Alright.
How many more absolutely bananas Fast and Furious movies should we expect to see in our lifetime? Not one, not two, but three new Fast and Furious sequels are apparently on the horizon, at least according to franchise star/world’s low-key worst actor Vin Diesel.
That’s right folks, there is going to be a Fast & Furious 10, which will most likely be titled Furious X: Why Are You People Still Paying To See This Sh*t.
Diesel made the announcement on his Facebook page:
First, however, Universal needs to get Furious 8 off the ground, as the latest rumor claims that director Justin Lin, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth entries in the franchise, turned down “life altering money” to direct the eighth installment. Also of note, Furious 7 director James Wan declined to come back because the demands of making 7 compromised his health.
Regardless, Diesel remains as confident as ever that The Fast And Furious franchise is going to remain as highly productive and profitable as ever.
They only problem this franchise ever really faces is thinking up crazier stunts then the last movie had.
Any college student knows the beauty of forming a good relationship with the bartenders at their local hangout can change your entire collegiate career. Mad props if you’ve perfected this, and even bigger props if you’ve done so without pissing them off first. An angry bartender can make for a seriously crappy night out – a fact that we’ve all experienced firsthand at least once in our lives – but the vast majority of us still don’t know what pisses them off in the first place. Luckily, we’ve got your back.
To put it simply, what pisses bartenders off more than anything is being disrespected. For those of you who need it, here’s a few quick pointers on how to be respectful: don’t interrupt a bartender when they’re speaking to another customers; don’t touch them regardless of what your intention is; don’t send back the drink they made after you instructed them exactly what you wanted; don’t order more than one drink at a time; don’t ask for free booze; don’t act like a drunken a-hole (we know that one can be hard sometimes).
Now that we’ve got the bases covered, the video below serves as one incredible guide of what NOT to do at the bar. Although we’d love to venture into the realm of all of the other things you shouldn’t be doing at the bar, this will have to do for now.

According to a study by mattress company Naturalmat, found that millions of people get five or less hours of sleep a night. The reason? Because it 2015 and we are literally glued to our technology. Man, the future sucks. [lead image via Shutterstock]
The study suggests checking phones, tablets, and laptops in bed delays sleep for 75 minutes. Sleep expert Christabel Majendie of Bristol Univeristy said: “Working, eating, talking on the phone and using the computer or mobile phones are daytime activities, which will weaken your associations with the bedroom and sleep and cause you to have a more disturbed night.”
So when you’re on your way to work tomorrow morning wondering why you’re so damn tired, remember its because you just hadddddddd to put up a SnapChat of the movie you were watching before bed, just so EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT YOU’RE DOING EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY.
Like I said, the future sucks. According to The Termintor, we’re about 15 years away from our war with the machines.
