Think summer camp is just for the kiddies? You’re wrong. These five camps are specifically for adults and they’re way more badass than the awkward ones your parents forced you to endure during your 8th grade summer. Check out our favorites below. Do it for the late night hook-ups by the river.
Camp Grounded: Anderson Valley, California
This west coast getaway is the epitome of childhood nostalgia. It’s like Wet Hot American Summer without the debauchery… but not, because the opportunity to create some is totally there. Campfires, archery, playing kickball, and participating in talent shows are all programs offered throughout your stay. Playing kid is way more fun when you’re a grown-up – mostly because you can now factor alcohol into all of those events.
Space Camp: Huntsville, Alabama
We spent most of our childhood dreaming of becoming astronauts, so you could imagine our surprise and unbearable disappointment when we entered adulthood and realized dreams were for suckers. Cue the manly crying. But Alabama’s Space Camp is reviving our youthful hopes. Camp attendees will spend their days learning about space history, interacting with astronaut simulators, and experiencing the feeling of four Gs. It’s like our favorite kind of roleplay.
Becoming a rockstar would be the f*cking bomb. Learn from the dudes who lived the dream at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp, where your counselors are legit rockstars. When they’re not strung out and tangled in lady garments, they can be pretty wise.
Wine Camp: Long Island, New York
It may not be beer, but wine will do. Imagine spending your days drinking bottle after bottle of wine that you made. Pretty badass. Plus they’re providing munchies, tours through the vineyards (b*tches love vineyards!), and an entire case to take home with you, so this is pretty much a win-win.
Ok now stay with us here. We get it – yoga? Really? How much fun could be had when you’re hanging out in downward dog? This isn’t prison – we’re not into it. But let us remind you of one golden element this magnificent camp has to offer: women. Lots and lots of women. Spending their days wearing yoga pants. Yeah. Suddenly the inspirational talks, sweat breakouts, and Kumbaya chants all seem worth it.
