We have to give Jimmy Fallon credit for making his “Thank You Notes” segment a big thing on The Tonight Show. We’re not going to stay home on a Friday night just to watch the bit, which began back in his Late Night days. We’re just saying that “Thank You Notes” is the first Tonight Show segment since Johnny Carson’s days to become a regular thing that people look forward to every week.

And we don’t have to stay home because Jimmy’s thoughtful notes of appreciation are quickly preserved for prosperity. Last night included Jimmy saying “thank you” to Pope Francis, people who have garage sales, and Get Hard–which looks set to have a really good weekend at the box office. We’re not sure what kind of audience the movie will pick up from Jimmy’s thoughtful “thank you,” but it was a good way for The Tonight Show to wrap up the week…

We’re still heading into peak trailer season–with this week starting with Mission: Impossible–Rogue Nation, and then a look at the big-screen Entourage, plus Arnold Schwarzenegger’s touching zombie family drama Maggie. It was also fun to see Jake Gyllenhaal getting all pumped up as a boxer for Southpaw.

And now we’re starting the weekend with a teaser for the new James Bond film Spectre, and a look back at even more fun stuff. Of course, the shot above isn’t from that Spectre trailer. Let’s start off by explaining that…

Spectre

Man, this is one dark teaser trailer–and we’re comfortable calling it a teaser trailer instead of a trailer because it has absolutely no action footage. Instead, we’re mostly being assured that this continues the Daniel Craig tradition of intensely personal James Bond movies. We’re hoping this isn’t going to end up being about James Bond having an evil lost brother, though. Austin Powers already did that with Goldmember…

Terminator: Genisys

Somebody noticed that J.K. Simmons won an Oscar for Whiplash, so here he is featured prominently in the upcoming Terminator reboot/remake/reimagining. It’s very cool to have Simmons around, but this trailer just has us more confused than ever about where the Terminator series is going here…

Dope

This is supposed to be a real hot indie property that’s (literally) a throwback to ’90s fun and mayhem–but we’re not convinced. This teaser is kind of promising, but the plot still doesn’t seem to be any more inventive than 1999’s underrated Go. Also, it’s kind of lame to use the Randy’s Donuts sign as cheap cool imagery. That should’ve been retired after Iron Man 2…

Absolution

Wasn’t this originally called The Mercenary: Absolution? Or maybe it was The Ninja: Absolution. Anyway, the title used to be longer, and Steven Segal used to be slimmer, but we’re still paying attention to his new movies. The promise of a Steven Segal/Vinnie Jones brawl isn’t what it used to be, of course, but make your VOD plans, anyway…

Spring

And here’s an intriguing horror indie that has some serious buzz–mostly because it combines subtle Euro horror with the quiet pace of Richard Linklater’s Before… trilogy. You know: Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight. Your girlfriend made you watch them, but it turned out not to be so bad to watch a guy and gal talking a lot. Same here, but the gal becomes a monster. From what we’re hearing, your girlfriend might still like it, and she owes you…

The doctor for a certain Brazilian soccer team in the regional league from Goiás, Brazil, is really dedicated–to the point that he jumped in and blocked two goals during a match. That’s not really allowed, though. In fact, the video here shows the goalie leaving the net clear before the team doc (marked by his white vest) jumps in from behind to block two goals.

Then he remembers that he’s in freakin’ Brazil and runs for his life because half a futbol stadium and the guys on the field just decided that they wanted him dead.

A few thoughts here: It’s admirable that the guy doesn’t use his hands. At least he’s showing that much respect for not being, you know, a goalie. Also, all of the gutsy real-life sports books that we’ve ever read says that team doctors are usually just glorified groupies who pump up players on drugs while trying to nail cheerleaders. This doc is showing some real dedication.

Also, it turns out that the refs decided that the blocked goals still didn’t count, and the doctor’s team won the match. That’s some crazy rules there in Brazilian soccer. We’d congratulate the doctor, but we doubt that we’d be able to find him…

We’re not sure if this counts as Spring Break Follies, since Amber Morgan is 25 years old–but she could have very well been partying pretty hard before she got arrested last night for being allegedly passed out drunk in the middle of a highway. But being unconsious still didn’t keep Amber from leading the cops on a daring (if short-lived) chase.

Check out the video to see the poor officer who had to save Amber from probably getting rear-ended into oblivion. She was taking a nap (or, you know, was allegedly passed out) on the the 805 Freeway near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in San Diego. That was around 1 am. Engine was running, car was locked, and we doubt that Amber even knew her car was rolling down the freeway after the officer tapped on her window.

The daring officer then broke Amber’s window, dived into the car, and–well, you can see for yourself. Officers claim that there was some alcohol in the back seat, and we’re really doubting that they planted anything back there. Take a look for yourself. Especially if you’re Amber, and you’re wondering what happened last night while you were sleeping, and before you were arrested…

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have been busy in Cancun all week for their annual calendar shoot–which we proudly began following last week, but that was just the beginning. Yesterday, for example, we  carefully documented the dress rehearsals for their upcoming fashion show. And we’re very happy to see that the cheerleaders have also been very busy today doing very important work as fashion models.

We’re very indebted to the awesome Ashley Nicole, who reported via her own Twitter account that she’d taken over the Dallas Cheerleaders’ Instagram account–and she did a lot to document today’s hot shots via the Dallas Cheerleaders’ official Twitter account, too. Take a look for yourself as the ladies run all around Cancun and manage to make the party capital look even more wild. And there’s some token video, too, that’ll make you wish you were tokin’ in Cancun–or something else…

Dwayne Johnson hosted Saturday Night Live last night, and we knew that SNL would give us The Rock returning in his role as The Rock Obama–that being the hulking alter-ego of our mild-mannered Commander-in-Chief. It’s a great idea, but the SNL staff only had three weeks to come up with a new way of doing something fun with the idea, so they pretty much rehashed the first time they did the sketch. Because, you know, it’s not like there’s anything in the news about Barack Obama being weak in negotiating with Iran.

Anyway, the writers probably knew they had a crappy show and figured it was a good idea to get the return of The Rock Obama out of the way early to score some good will. That’s why this got used as the weekly cold open. Things went downhill from there, except for a good opening monologue that NBC is being slow in posting. We’ll update if we can.

The main thing we’re really learning about recent SNL is that these are the years that Lorne Michaels discovered Google stats, and started announcing things like, “We need a Robert Durst sketch STAT!” And then some writer says, “Well, I have this improv sketch that got rejected five weeks ago…”

We kind of already said all this about the crappy Jim Carrey Halloween Party sketch, but we’re still not hacking it out like the SNL writers this season. Anyway, here’s that highlight, so to speak…

An alleged “frat boy” from Florida State University is the subject of yet another internet manhunt after video has emerged of him seemingly biting off the head of an innocent hamster–which we know can make you a fraternity legend, but we’re thinking animal-rights activists have a point in saying the guy’s kind of a bad human being.

Also, we’re stressing the “alleged” in the “frat boy,” because it’s gotten way too easy to simply accuse fraternities of bad behavior nowadays. (Thanks, SAE and Ole Miss’ SigEp.) Nobody’s saying that we’d be too surprised, though. Anyway, take a look at the video, and you’ll probably agree that it’s just plain wrong to bring an innocent hamster to a Spring Break party with the intent of killing it for your friends….

Bad, right? We know that it’s difficult to stand out as a partying maniac even if you’re just an alleged FSU student, but that’s still not right. So here’s a better look at the guy, in case you want to turn his head in on a stick to your local PETA chapter. We don’t think they mind cruelty against this kind of human…

Also, Tom Brady is the kind of guy who can hook up with Michael Jordan for a little golf, and maybe some pick-up basketball with the NBA legend, because that’s how these people live, and it gets documented via social media by the folks who live with those kinds of folks…

And it seems Tom Brady is also happy to share his own adventures. A guy like Tom isn’t just going to jump off a balcony to get into the pool. That’s for crazy college kids. Instead, Tom went to his Facebook page to post footage of himself jumping off a cliff. We guess that worked out pretty well, because we have this video instead of a Tom Brady Memorial Tribute. Now check it out, and then wait for us to do something crazy like eating an entire plate of nachos…

Damn, they’re really in need of Spring Break over at Rutgers University, where student Kevin Huang has allegedly provided college campuses with decades more of stories about deranged LSD killers. Read this one like a movie, starting with 23-year-old Rutgers student Andrew Kim being found bleeding on Saturday morning around 1:20 am–with an added stinger of the cops then finding 22-year-old student Huang on the second floor of his off-campus apartment, pacing excitedly and completely naked.

Now try to reconstruct the evening. A witness has already told police that Huang and Kim had taken LSD together earlier. The witness added that Huang then took off his clothes in his apartment and got agitated. Probably not in that order.

The witness took off after Huang began trashing his own place. That turned out to be a pretty good idea, because the person returned to find Kim bleeding from the neck. The cops are saying that Kim is recovering from his injuries.

We don’t know how he’ll recover from his bad trip, but it could’ve been a lot tripper. That’s because cops searched Huang’s apartment and found (approximately) 15 pounds of marijuana, (approximately) 500 bars of Xanax, (approximately) a lot of cocaine, plus some other unidentified pills and crystals, in addition to plenty of cash and some odds and ends that you might possibly find in the home of a drug dealer.

And that’s how Huang has ended up facing charges of Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and a whole bunch of narcotic-related offenses. Those include possession, distribution, and distribution in a school zone. That might mean Rutgers.

Also, that isn’t a picture of Huang up above. It’s from a really cool movie called Blue Sunshine–about a bunch of college students in the ’60s who drop a special kind of acid that makes them go crazy after they lose all their hair several years later. It might be some kind of metaphor.

After weeks of exciting college basketball play, the teams for the 2015 Final Four are finally set.  The Midwest Champion Kentucky Wildcats are to take on the East Champion Wisconsin Badgers and the West Champion Michigan State Spartans are to take on the South Champion Duke Blue Devils. And regardless of how you feel about the top four teams in the tournament, there (*cough Kentucky cough*) you can’t deny the talent of the Final Four cheerleaders.

Taylor looked good on the red carpet, too, as captured alongside other beauties, like Aubrey O’Day and partner Shannon Bex out to push their new band Dumb Blonde.

Metta World Peace, the NBA player formerly known as Ron Artest, has shown a strong interest in coaching at his alma mater.

St. John’s currently has an open position after parting ways with Steve Lavin. Metta World Peace said during an appearance on ESPN Radio Sunday night that he has contacted the school to let them know that his interest in the job is genuine.

World Peace played at St. John’s during his college career and is willing to take a hiatus from his professional basketball career to coach the Red Storm. It should be noted that the school is closing in on hiring another former St. John’s player, Chris Mullin to actually take the position. This didn’t stop World Peace from trying, though.

He obviously knows the school and the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of everything there. It would have made Madison Square Garden a very interesting place to be, especially with people seeing him on the sidelines and not on the court. World Peace is just 35 years old, however, and is going to start playing for an Italian League club on Monday.

Maybe in a few years the job will open up again and he can take another chance at it.

NFL players have been arrested for many different things over the years. New Orleans Saints cornerback, Brian Dixon, may have found a new one that can be put down and placed into the ‘odd’ file. Dixon was arrested on Sunday morning for resisting an officer after he was pulled over riding a moped, according to the Times-Picayune.

Mopeds aren’t permitted on the streets, and when Dixon questioned the officers about why he couldn’t ride the moped, he was arrested. Dixon was charged with resisting arrested and released from the Miami-Dade County jail on Sunday morning after posting $1,000 bond.

The Saints, along with NFL security, are investigating what happened.

Two Halo 5 Guardians trailers were unveiled last night during the Walking Dead‘s Season 5 finale, as was the Halo 5 release date. Both trailers are live action and continue the theme of whether or not Master Chief is a traitor or not. They feature Master Chief and Spartan Locke, both of whom tell opposite sides of the story in different videos.

Finally we have a first person shooter with a solid storyline.

StubHub has proven over the last few years to be one of the biggest websites in the game for fans looking to unload tickets. On Sunday, StubHub filed a lawsuit against the Golden State Warriors and Ticketmaster by claiming that the two parties were creating an illegal resale market, telling season-ticket holders that they could only resell tickets through Ticketmaster.

The lawsuit states that fans who don’t resell their tickets through Ticketmaster’s exchange would have their ticket privileges revoked, according to ESPN.com. This also involved playoff tickets for this season and the season tickets for next season. This has the potential to get really ugly really fast because it would appear that Ticketmaster and the Warriors have found some sort of monopoly on the market.

StubHub has every right to be selling the tickets just as much as Ticketmaster does. However, the threats have made many fans stay with Ticketmaster so they don’t lose their tickets to the hottest team in the NBA. Fans of the Warriors should have every opportunity they can to go to a game if it is possible and not have to depend on just one source.

Super Mario 64, the first game for the Nintendo 64 has been completely remastered for your browser courtesy of developer Roystan Ross. OK, well not fully remastered. It’s just the first level right now, but it’s still pretty awesome.

The goal of the game was to show off Super Character Controller, a Unity developed character controller. Yes that means that you’ll have to download the Unity plugin to your computer but don’t complain. This is a pretty good use of your free period or lunch break.

The Halo 5 Guardians release date was announced during the Season 5 finale of The Walking Dead. Halo 5 will come out on October 27th, 2015.

In addition to the release date, Microsoft released two Halo 5 trailers that explore the question of whether Master Chief is a traitor or not. One video depicts Master Chief blaming Spartan Locke for the destruction of a city, while the second live action video shows Spartan Locke doing the same to Master Chief.
