Summer hit “Blurred Lines” was accused of being a ripoff of Marvin Gaye’s 1977 hit “Got to Give it Up,” and his family sought $25 million in damages. After Gaye passed away in 1984, his family was granted the rights to his music.

After the verdict was announced, Gaye’s daughter immediately spoke out: “Right now, I feel free… Free from … Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke’s chains and what they tried to keep on us and the lies that were told.”

Needless to say, it got messy. “Blurred Lines” put Thicke on the map, earning nearly $17 million in profits since its initial debut. Looks like his reign is over – but regardless of the verdict, we’re still rocking out to the 2013 summer anthem.

The former member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon released a lengthy statement expressing his deep disregard for his comments made on Saturday. To me, it sounds like a load of bs most likely written by his lawyer because he was receiving death threats. But I’ll let you decide for yourself:

          “I am deeply sorry for what I did Saturday night. It was wrong and reckless. I made a horrible mistake by joining into the singing and encouraging others to do the same. On Monday, I withdrew from the university, and sadly, at this moment our family is not able to be in our home because of threatening calls as well as frightening talk on social media.

          I know everyone wants to know why or how this happened. I admit it likely was fueled by alcohol consumed at the house before the bus trip, but that’s not an excuse. Yes, the song was taught to us, but that too doesn’t work as an explanation. It’s more important to acknowledge what I did and what I didn’t do. I didn’t say no, and I clearly dismissed an important value I learned at my beloved high school, Dallas Jesuit. We were taught to be ‘Men for Others.’ I failed in that regard, and in those moments, I also completely ignored the core values and ethics I learned from my parents and others.

          At this point, all I can do is be thoughtful and prayerful about my next steps, but I am also concerned about the fraternity friends still on campus. Apparently, they are feeling unsafe and some have been harassed by others. Hopefully, the university will protect them.

          Thank you for your consideration of my deepest apologies for what I did.”

Ciara stuns as a badass ballerina in her new music video ‘I Bet,’ calling out her ex-fiancé and father of her child, Future, for his unfaithfulness. The usually private singer, takes a rare moment to express her feelings in her recent single about how he only showed her love after she had moved on.

I applaud Ciara for not feeling sorry for herself and drowning her sorrows into pints of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Instead, she used her breakup as fuel for her newest album, Jackie (named after her mom), that will be released in May.

If her mission was to create a sultry ballad and make her ex miss her enviable figure, then she certainly accomplished that and then some. Bravo, Ciara.

You squint up at the sun, rub your eyes a bit, and feel the familiar warmth on your face as you realize you’re waking from a deep winter hibernation of studying, exams, Pasta Roni, and running marathons….on Netflix.

Suns out, guns out – it’s time to work and make all the money you can this summer for the rising costs of tuition, books, housing, food, and whatever adventures you have in mind.

Even if you’re planning on summer school or some internship, these jobs might make you reconsider.

#5: Construction

Build some muscle and get a fresh tan doing some of the hardest labor known to man. You can average anywhere from $20 – $25 an hour doing construction this summer.

#4: Golf Caddie

If you have some golf game then you might be able to caddie. These jobs go fast, but golf caddies usually average $200 – $240 a day plus tips! Which can push you up over $300 a day or about $30 an hour. Not bad for walking around the golf course all day.

#3: Photography/Videography

If you have a creative eye and all the gear then you can shoot weddings, events, family portraits, etc. Depending on the demand and your skill level, you can make anywhere from $20 to $35.00+ an hour.

#2: Coding

This is one of the hottest growing demands. Programmers who know what they are doing and “wire in” can easily make $30 an hour. It seems everyone wants to make a website or an app and they are willing to pay for it.

#1: Sales

Nothing compares to the earning potential of sales. We found a booming tech company – Vivint – who has about 4,000 college aged sales reps that sell either home security, home automation, wireless internet, or solar during the summer – their rookie reps make anywhere from $15,000 to $150,000 a summer! What! That’s no typo – some of their 1st year reps have made six figures in 4 months of work. We called Vivint to verify the earnings and we were impressed! They also told us their reps earn prizes and trips along the way.

If only I were a dude…and still in college…and went to the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB)…and could rush Sigma Phi Epsilon (Sig Ep). If I were, it looks like I ‘d be having the time of my life, based on this awesome video that the fraternity recently released.

According to TMZ, police rushed to Lil Wayne’s Miami home after receiving a phone call from someone saying they intended to start a firefight with officers, and that shots were already fired.

Miami PD have arrived at the ritzy residence and set up a perimeter. Eleven days prior, police arrived at the home after reports of a suspicious stranger lurking outside were made. After approaching him, the man was released because he was on public property.

Wayne was not currently home during the alleged events.

In a highly educational article from the Daily Mail, we learned what foods to avoid when trying to bone. Basically it’s the best thing we’ve learned all day. Check out the full list below, and prepare to clean out your fridge.

Black Licorice – Linked to lower testosterone levels, which obviously contributes to libido. You’re an animal.

Cheese – It produces mucus… not much else needs to be explained here.

Beans – Will increase sluggishness, bloat, and gas. Delicious!

Chocolate – Apparently all chocolate is bad except for the dark kind – which produces a ton of serotonin – so go for that!

Hot Dogs – Allegedly, “the high saturated content of hot dogs can clog up the vaginal and penile arteries.” We have no idea what that means, but we do know that we don’t want it.

Peppermint – Will lower testosterone levels, and thus kill your sex drive. Don’t worry, breath mints are allllll good (don’t go in without one).

Tonic Water – Will decrease sexual function, which is totally cool, considering we’re not 40-year-old moms from Beverly Hills.

French Fries – A prime cause of sluggishness. Goodbye salty goodness, you can wait one day.

Red Meat – Will sit heavily in your stomach, causing lethargy. This is kind of great – no expensive dinners pre-banging. Chicks love that.

Tofu – Will decrease your testosterone levels. Luckily we have nothing to worry about, since that s**t is f**king disgusting.

Canned Food – It’s an energy sucker. Save the cans for another ten years.

Red Wine – Downing a bottle will lower your inhibitions, something we’ve witnessed first hand and see zero issue with.

Oatmeal – Uncontrollable flatulence, yikes. No one likes that.

Energy Drinks – Made to provide a short-lived energy kick that will lower your stamina that you’re going to need later, so steer clear.

Broccoli -Gas. Lots and lots of gas.

The highly anticipated trailer for Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck has finally been released. The upcoming HBO documentary follows the life of the legendary grunge musician and includes tons of rare footage, interviews, home videos and even some of Kurt Cobain‘s unreleased music.

Unlike previous Nirvana memorabilia, Montage of Heck was made with full cooperation from Courtney Love and Frances Bean Cobain, who also served as an executive producer. Take a look at the full trailer below.

In 2010, a trailer went viral appearing to be an Eli Roth-produced horror film called “Clown.” Although it ended up being a hoax created by directors Jon Watts and Christopher D. Ford, a real trailer has now been released.

The film was written by Watts and Ford and produced by Roth (who also makes an appearance as Frowny the Clown). The plot centers around a father who transforms into a terrifying clown after dressing up as one for his son’s birthday. “Clown” has already been released in Italy as well as the U.K., though there is still no set date for when it will hit American theaters.

We’d never be caught dead watching The Bachelor, but what we can stand for is two gorgeous women fighting over one lucky schmuck. In this case, neither Britt Nilsson or Kaitlyn Bristowe got the end proposal, but both got the last laugh. The two women will be on next season’s The Bachelorettes, in which a handful of men will grovel at their feet in hopes of being the chosen one.

The Myakka Pines Golf Course has marketed the fact that players could see alligators in the past but a gator the size of this one is shocking. It is $75 to play the course and there is no doubt going to be plenty of people who want to play now just hoping to see this same alligator again who has been estimated to be around 12 or 13 feet. Who knows if it is actually a real thing or not but the people who took the pictures claim it is all real.

The problem for golfers is that when an alligator shows up on the golf course, they can’t just play around the gator. It is a wait and see game that golfers need to play until the alligator moves on. This gator however would probably scare many people off the course entirely. It will come back again at some point and hopefully more people get a picture of the massive gator.
