WATCH: Kanye West Interview On The Breakfast Club

kanye west breakfast club

Kanye West visited “The Breakfast Club” for his second interview and–regardless of how you feel about the rapper–it’s must listen radio. He touches on all sorts of subjects, including his new shoes, Amber Rose, and whooooole lot of other sh*t.

Our favorite quotes:

Kanye: Humbly, I would say I’m the most influential person in footwear right now.

Charlamagne: There’s no way to say that humbly.

My daughter has a chance of being shaped like my wife.

I went to dinner with Taylor Swift and ironically they were playing the Beck album. Maybe they did it on purpose so I could finally listen to it. And I was like, man, this is kind of good. I ain’t gonna lie.

After Amber Rose… “I had to take 30 showers before Kim would touch me.

In response to his interruption. “The person that won the most was Beck. If I hadn’t done that, his album of the year would never have been mentioned.

Jay Z Has an Alleged Love Child, Faces Paternity Suit

Jay Z
Jay-Z and ridiculously hot wife Beyonce got their world rocked when allegations surfaced that the rapper has an alleged 21-year-old love child.

Rymir Satterthwaite, who bears a striking resemblance to the rap mogul, is now taking legal action to try and make his supposed father take a paternity test, alleging he had an affair with his mother in the early ’90s.  A similar incident occurred nearly five years ago, in which Hova successfully fought off taking a DNA test.

Looks like this time, he won’t be as lucky.

A street artist named Plastic Jesus constructed and left a fake Oscar statue bent over doing lines of cocaine, one year after he constructed an eight-foot Oscar with a heroin needle in it.

The “piece” was left at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on Thursday morning, right near where streets will be closed in anticipation of the Academy Awards.

Hollywood's best party

“The piece is intended to draw attention to Hollywood’s hidden problem of drug addiction that effects hundreds of people in the showbiz industry and is largely ignored until the death of a high profile A list celebrity,” photographer Nick Stern, who works with Plastic Jesus, offered up in a statement on behalf of Plastic Jesus.

So if you’re a fan of music or looking to impress a special bae in your life, pick up a Pepsi and follow the instructions here.

So what does any of that have to do with Fall Out Boy? The band shot a commercial with Pepsi that aired during The Grammys, announcing the “100 days” sweepstakes. And during that shoot, the guys took some time to discuss their most “Out of the Blue” moment. Watch it below.

2015 Oscar Nominated Movies: Synopsis, Plots & Trailers

Oscars 2015

The 2015 Oscars are just around the corner and we’re making our predictions (and placing some bets). In case you haven’t sat through every nominated film out there, we’re dishing out the details on the eight Best Picture nominees. Who’s snagging that little gold trophy? You decide.

American Sniper

Bradley Cooper straps on a military uniform in American Sniper, where he plays Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle. Kyle earned a legendary reputation as the most lethal sniper in the world with 160 confirmed deaths. The film follows his four tours of duty, life with his wife and three children, and ultimate demise.

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)

Michael Keaton makes an ironic comeback in Birdman playing Riggan, a washed-up actor who once played iconic superhero. Attempting to revive his career – and ultimately, his ego – Riggan decides to adapt Raymond Carver’s What We Talk About When We Talk About Love into a broadway show. Naturally, chaos ensues. But the coolest thing about this film is it’s shot to make it look like one continuous scene.

Boyhood

Director Richard Linklater is garnering a ton of attention for his experimental film project Boyhood, which follows the life of Mason and his family over a twelve year time span. To be honest, not much happens – boy goes to school, boy’s parents divorce, boy gets first kiss, boy goes to college – so maybe don’t see it in theaters. Two and a half hours of nothing happening can be strenuous.

The Grand Budapest Hotel

Wes Anderson fans know what to expect: a quirky piece of theatric gold. The Grand Budapest Hotel is no exception. The film focuses around Gustave H, a concierge from a popular hotel in Republic of Zubrowka, and his best friend, lobby boy Zero Moustafa. If you’re not a fan of Anderson’s style, or hate The Royal Tenenbaums and Moonrise Kingdom, skip out on this one.

The Imitation Game

The gorgeous Kiera Knightley stars alongside fellow Brit Benedict Cumberbatch in this biopic about mathematician Alan Turing, who helped solve the Enigma code during WWII and was later persecuted for his sexuality. It’s basically a history lesson, but hey, Kiera Knightley is in it! So who really cares?

Selma

Selma revives Martin Luther King Jr. and gives an inside look at the Civil Rights Movement, specifically the epic 1965 walk from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama. Another history lesson, but fascinating nonetheless.

The Theory of Everything

Stephen Hawking brilliance and personal life with with Jane take center stage in this biopic. Kind of a snoozefest, considering their love story is the main plot point, but hearing Hawking’s musings on space is pretty dope.

Whiplash

This one’s for the rock fans. Andrew, a talented young drummer, enrolls at a crazy music conservatory where he’s mentored by this awesome dude named Fletcher. Whiplash is an all-around great flick, and the music is awesome.

Model Karlie Kloss is shedding her angel wings and leaving Victoria’s Secret. The 22-year-old model, whose been an official angel since 2013 and walked in the brand’s last four runway shows, is said to be stepping down to “[focus] on her modeling career, new business opportunities and NYU starting in the fall.”

The gorgeous blonde earned the attention of red-blooded males from around the country with her “girl next door” appeal, and obviously, when she first stepped into the limelight wearing lingerie. While we’ll miss her walking down the runways in next-to-nothing, rest assured knowing that she’ll still be around.

Robert Myers NFL Combine

Usually men’s legs aren’t something that I’d bring up on COED, but hot d*mn we need to talk about Robert Myers, offensive lineman from Tennessee State who just stole the show at the NFL Combine. The 6’5″ 310-pound Robert is like what would happen if Groot and a woman had sex, only Rob gets a human upper body and tree trunks in his lower-half.

No other way to explain this.

I mean if you got it, flaunt it. No sense in waking up and putting on pants the one day everyone’s looking at you.

And +1 for the “Quadzilla” line.

Penn State University‘s Pi Kappa Phi is facing possible sanctions from it’s national chapter after hazing allegations surfaced in late December. The PSU chapter allegedly violated management policy and and standards of conduct, and will therefore remain on suspension until the end of the month.

Despite their site clearly stating that they are “opposed to all acts of hazing,” Penn State IFC is launching their own investigation once the national chapter’s investigation is completed. Hazing stories were not specifically reported.

Spring break chicks

Girls on Spring Break are a special kind of woman. Back at home they’re just as much fun as everyone else, but once they hit the beach or wherever they’re going for Spring Break things just unload. Mob mentality kicks in. One second they’re singing T-Swift songs with their friends and the next they’re twerking up on strangers to OT Genasis.

And that’s not to say we don’t love our girlfriends at school when they’re in class, but they’re a lot crazier and a lot more fun when they’re on Spring Break. That’s why we love following @SB_Chicks on Instagram–they know what we’re talking about. Take a look at these ladies on vacation and tell us we’re wrong.

Long Trail Brewing Company’s Sick Day IPA Is What’s On Tap

Long Trail Brewing Sick Day IPA

I get it, it’s cold. Chances are wherever you’re at there are single digit temperatures and wind chills. But as cold as it is, I know of no better way to overcome weather than to drink a delicious craft beer. This weekend’s beer review is aimed right at those of you called out of work–Long Trail Brewing Company’s Sick Day IPA is What’s on Tap!

Brewing solid year round and seasonal beers Long Trail Brewing is one of the most consistent breweries in the New England states. Though I was a huge fan of their Scotch Ale Hibernator, which has been retired, its replacement, Sick Day, is a very drinkable IPA, regardless of season or weather!

What intrigues me about Sick Day is that it is a true IPA with its hoppy notes but there are other tasting notes that make it uniquely Long Trail and a “New England” IPA. Sick Day’s color is darker / redder than I was expecting. The brew gives off a subtle sweetness that makes me think this brew is not a true IPA. However after drinking the first sip it is clear that this brew is an IPA. There is a definite hop presence but the brew’s malt presence is not overpowered. Instead it provides a nice foundation for the brew while limiting the “hop impact.”

This brew is perfect after a in the bitter cold; the color, the sweet malt, and the hop kick provide all the warming-up you will ever need from a beer. This weekend I am pairing Sick Day with one of my favorite snow day meals grilled cheese. But this is not your middle school cafeteria’s grilled cheese. No, on a two slices of sourdough bread I am grilling bacon, tomatoes, and sharp cheddar cheese. Hopefully this weekend and maybe one day next week you are able to take a Sick Day and drink a few!

Cheers!

COED’s Mardi Gras Tales with Bud Light MIXX TAIL [PHOTOS + VIDEO]

$

You’ve all heard about the Mardi Gras parties that New Orleans is famous for so we decided to get a first hand look at one of the planet’s biggest party cities. Let me start by saying that there’s a very good reason we put New Orleans at #3 in our annual Trashiest Spring Break Destinations ranking.

New Orleans Mardi Gras

Panorama of Bourbon Street, New Orleans

One of the most noticeable things was the weather, normally around this time in ‘Nawlins the temperature is a comfortable 60°F but revelers were forced to endure a downright unacceptable 35°F. That being the case, there wasn’t as much skin on display as expected – in fact, most people decided to bundle up in jackets and even scarves/gloves.

This minor setback wasn’t enough to quell the masses and their almost frightening obsession with beads. Bud Light rented out a few balconies along Bourbon Street so we could participate in the “throws”. The unsuspecting party-goers went nuts when we broke out the Mixx Tail merchandise (hats, long-sleeved shirts, even a few napkins – yes napkins).

Pat O’Brien’s Bar is the birthplace of the Hurricane Cocktail which is why Bud Light chose Mardi Gras to roll out their new line of cocktails – current flavors are Long Island Iced Tea, Firewalker and of course, the Hurricane.

Walking around during Mardi Gras is a challenge in itself, not only have you been drinking all day (maybe even all week) but the beads are a bitch. We saw countless people take a tumble and, boy was it funny.

Everything on Bourbon Street, and I mean everything is shut down at midnight. A convoy of mounted police, hundreds of officers and several police cars were followed by a tanker spraying literally the entire street in white foam – the next morning everything was back to (almost) normal, except of course for the beads that were too high for workers.

Check below for pictures from Mardi Gras 2015.

David Letterman Kid Scientists Gun Powder Video

David Letterman brought out the kid scientists on last night’s episode of The Late Show, and this is the year where we have to start worrying that we’re watching David Letterman do the last version of every one of his classic bits. We guess that it’s not likely that The Late Show is wrapping up the Kid Scientists segment this early before Dave’s retirement–but this would not be a bad one to go out on.

That’s because there was more mayhem than usual, with a Kid Scientist named Kate Burritt showing up to demonstrate what happens when gunpowder is lit by flame. We already had a pretty good idea, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the CBS lawyers actually insisted that Dave light the gunpowder.

We also like the two other Kid Scientists hiding in the back behind the couch. It’s funny, but we also wouldn’t be surprised if the kids didn’t come up with that idea instead of the writers. Kid scientists are usually smarter than comedy writers. Anyway, check it out, and see why it’ll be fun to pay a little more attention to Letterman this year…

Lauren Cohan stopped by her home city to have Walking Dead costar Steven Yeun interview her for Philadelphia Style. We know that Philadelphia Style isn’t the kind of magazine where you’d really expect to go to find hot pics of Lauren Cohan, but–as seen in the pic above–the photographers did a really nice job of getting Lauren to show off her sexier side.  [photo via…]

Lauren doesn’t really get to do that very often on the AMC series. The folks at Philadelphia Style made a video, too, which is really thoughtful. We’re not sure why more Walking Dead (and Lauren Cohan) fans haven’t glommed onto this…

It all makes for a great reminder of why The Walking Dead is still bringing in the viewers even during a pretty boring season–and why the zombie series can still dare to put a new episode up against the Oscars this Sunday. Take a look at the pics below, and see why we might be tuning away ourselves. The show allows Lauren to look hot occasionally…

Draven Rodriguez suicide h

It’s a rough week for people who made us happy on the internet. First we lost Humblebrag creator Harris Wittels, and now we learn that high-school student (and all-around cool kid) Draven Rodriguez has committed suicide.  [photos: Vincent Giordano/Trinacria Photo]

Draven Rodriguez suicide

Draven first made headlines when the above picture was rejected as his senior picture for the Schenectady High School annual. Fortunately, that wasn’t the development that would lead Draven to take his life. The whole thing worked out pretty well., Draven and his principal both had rescue pets–meaning Draven’s Main Coon (who, it turns out, is named Mr. Bigglesworth), and Principal Wilkerson’s own Vivian the Dog. The two resolved their differences, and the result was this rockin’ pic for the annual…

Draven Rodriguez suicide RIP

Yeah, that was all pretty cool. Now Draven’s page in the annual will have a message about the importance of adopting pets through shelters and rescue organizations.

Sadly, we didn’t know Draven well enough to even speculate about what was going on in his young life. We’re just very sorry to see it end. Damn. The cool die young.
