New Orleans’ Mardi Gras is without a doubt the biggest annual party in the country.  And like any big party, it’s bound to get sloppy for some(most) people. New Orleans is already a huge party city, so hosting an event like Mardi Gras is basically the equivelant to filling Las Vegas with every spring breaker in the country. You know it’s going to get weird.

If you weren’t able to make it down to The Big Easy this year, the gallery below will give you a little taste of the sloppier side of Mardi Gras, which makes the NYC subway feel like Sunday School class.

Benjamin Miller, a 20-year-old American college student, found out what it’s like to get his ass kicked by a bull when he jumped into a parade with the aggressive animal yesterday afternoon. Needless to say, this was a really poor decision.

The Georgia  native was in Spain celebrating the Carnaval del Toro in Ciudad Rodrigo when he decided to get into the middle of the action, hop a fence, and set out running alongside the prized bull. Unfortunately for Miller, a skilled photographer was there to document the incident, which left him with injuries to his thighs,  sphincter and back muscles.

After a three hour surgery – which the doctor concluded was the “biggest goring wound [he’s] ever had to operate on – Miller is reportedly in intensive care.

Note to self: don’t ever do this. Ever.

Jimmy Fallon faces a nightly challenge of trying to turn The Tonight Show into a hip Buzzfeed kind of internet thing, and the “Do Not Play” segment is when he just gives up and shows you some funny album covers. (At least COED tries to liven things up by collecting sexy album covers, right? Weird Christmas albums, too.)

Anyway, “Do Not Play” is just Fallon holding up funny old album covers and making a snide comment in the time-honored internet tradition. Nothing wrong with that. There’s a reason that it’s a popular segment. We’re still thinking that same music geek on the Tonight Show staff (possibly Steve Higgins himself) had to watch one of his own LPs get ridiculed last night.

A lot of guys bought The Orchids’ self-titled LP that came out in 1980 on the MCA label. That’s because it was the latest all-girl project from weird musical mastermind Kim Fowley (RIP just recently, damn it.) We guess they looked kind of dopey, and Kim was in the midst of playing around with mixing lite new-wave sounds with disco, so the album isn’t any kind of real classic, but it’s no disaster, either.

The clip played last night wasn’t typical of the LP, either. Fallon looks kind of square wincing at the rocking sounds, though. Kind of weird that’s how The Orchids end up on The Tonight Show, but that’s showbiz. And the rest of the segment is fun, too, when you get past how it feels like Jimmy Fallon is reading you something off his iPhone…

And here’s a song by The Orchids. We’re not saying that they were as good as The Runaways, or even The Go-Go’s–but not so bad. They seem like nice girls, too…

Television viewers had a ton of choices on Sunday night to choose from with the two biggest ones being the NBA All-Star Game on TNT and TBS against the Saturday Night Live 40^th Anniversary Special on NBC. While one was on network television and the other one was on cable, it was assumed that it would end up being close in the ratings.

That was far from the case as Nielsen announced on Monday that the SNL special got a 14.2 rating while the All-Star Game got a 5.5 rating. The 5.5 rating was still up 12 percent from last year’s game though. Another key thing was that the SNL show wasn’t shown live on the West Coast so fans there could watch the entire basketball game before SNL.

It is going to be hard for any event on cable to beat out a network telecast especially one with so many A-list celebrities involved in it even if the All-Star Game is played at Madison Square Garden. Maybe the league needs to hope no network decides on a big show against them again next year when the game is in Toronto. It may mean even more viewers along the way.

We now know the 25 most dangerous college campuses, thanks to a study from StartClass. Being from the Northeast, I always imagined that Trinity (located in the heart of Hartford, CT) would be high on this list but that’s not the case. In fact, I think you’ll be surprised to see big names like Wake Forest and Dartmouth mucking it up with the likes of Grambling State. [lead image via Getty Staff/ Scott Olson]

Of course, with any study or reports it’s important to know where the numbers come from. The statistics themselves represent violent and non-violent crimes reported to campus security and local law enforcement officials in 2012-2013. Last night’s episode of Better Call Saul has me officially hooked on the show, so if you haven’t started watching the new AMC series I suggest you get on that ASAP. It’s not as dark as Breaking Bad (in fact I think the shows are completely different) but the writing is top-notch.

Here in New York City you might think that the selection on Tinder is top-notch, but you’d be wrong.

I mean, in all fairness how can you compete with Sweden–a nation that churns out tall, skinny blondes like Russia churns out weirdos? You can’t. Model Zoe Cross is the subject of an amazing on-air dispute between Danny Clayton, host of an Australian show on Channel V, and American surfer Kolohe Andino. Danny flat-out accused Kolohe of creeping out his girlfriend after sliding into her texts a little too often.

A lot of people are claiming that the only creepy thing is that Danny is himself 28 and dating an 18-year-old. But those people probably haven’t seen what Zoe, who made her debut in the South African Swimsuit Issue, looks like.

Either way, we can’t imagine Kolohe really cares all that much. He’s one of the world’s best surfers and just alerted every dime on that side of the globe that his text game is savage.

A celebrity feud broke out on Twitter last night between Khloe Kardashian and Amber Rose after the hip hop singer slung some shade towards Kylie Jenner and boyfriend Tyga.

After calling the couple out in a radio interview, Khloe Kardashian came to her sister’s aide, reminding the Twiiter world that Amber Rose has been a stripper since she was 15. Yikes. A lengthy, low-blow fueled fight ensued.

In short: don’t mess with the baby Kardashians unless you’re Amber Rose and can handle it. Chick is nuts. Check it out below:

For a dating app, Tinder can be hard, unreliable, and downright creepy (unless you’re Swedish, then carry on). But for 89-year-old Joe, somehow it’s not that bad.

The old man made a profile (or more accurately, stood by and watched in awe at how progressive technology is these days) to help out his grandson Ethan Cole, who had little luck on the popular dating app. The two used photos from Joe’s younger days and set up five dates. Conversations about pegging, skydiving, and “rapper music” ensued.

While the initial meet-up was painfully awkward, it was also totally accurate: you never get what you see on the web. Check it out below for a laugh.

What would you do if you found a kilo of cocaine on the beach? Take it? Sell it? Return it? Ignore it? Go wild?

Hopefully this isn’t one of the weird hypotheticals you thought about when you were a kid, but one dude on Reddit got to answer that same question in real life when he and his bros came across a very large amount of cocaine.

Here’s the full story from Reddit:

Maybe I should elaborate: This happened in 2013 my freshman year of college when a group of friends and myself decided to go surfing. As we were heading out a friend came across a black saran wrapped square of substance. They figured it was trash, but I knew due to the fact that my father is a federal agent for ATF that this was most likely something more.

We unwrapped the black saran wrap to find this white material, that smelled like ether, and had a “Lexus” symbol on it. (The drug cartels use these symbols to organize batches / trace origins.) The guys I was with were absolutely clueless what to do, and thought the best Idea would be to bury it for now, go surf, and deal with it after… I explained to them that they were idiots and we needed to take it to the police right this second.

Once I convinced them this was cocaine we went back to the car, and I called my father to find out what we should do. (we got it to the car by sticking it in one of the guys swim trucks…)

He then called the local police station who was alerted that a group of surfers were driving to them with a kilo.

We dropped off the cocaine to the police who ignorantly responded: “Wow I’ve never seen one of these before. I bet you could of sold this for like $100,000.” (going rate for a kilo in FL is more like $25,000)

Then we asked if we were going to receive a reward? He told us we could call crime stoppers but we probably wouldn’t get a reward. He said “I bet our chief will take you to McDonalds if you want?“

When we were leaving I asked if he would take a photo of us with it which he did, and these photos, and the look on peoples face when we tell them we found a kilo of cocaine are about the only reward we received so far.

The craziest part isn’t what he did with it, but that he had the balls to post a photo of it on the internet with his real face and identifying marks about the cocaine. Don’t you know that dealers have killed for less?

If you’re going to Cancun on Spring Break, don’t watch this documentary called “Uncovering Spring Break’s Hidden Underbelly” that shows how mass tourism is actually killing the city. Or do watch it and reaffirm the fact that you’re a horrible human being.

 

I’m totally kidding about the whole thing, there’s no way we’d actually expect you to watch any video that’s 40+ minutes long. Cancun is totally fine, just don’t do anything sketchy in the bathroom because they’re definitely watching you. And by “they,” we mean the Mexican cartels who 100% run the city. Also, taxi drivers are usually good people to ask for drugs.

We didn’t expect to start the day talking about Afroman in the news–but he is, and for a really sucky reason. He hit a girl onstage, and we live in a world where people have been known to be videotaping people during concerts nowadays. That means the world is seeing Afroman hitting a girl onstage.

Some people are saying “slapped” instead of “hit,” but we’re thinking this gets close to being a proper punch. Afroman also gets close to recreating a scene from Million Dollar Baby, if you know what we mean. And even if you don’t, this is a serious damn incident–even if the girl getting hit is really a grown woman who, yes, might have had too much to drink, and was acting like an idiot. This GIF still isn’t presented for entertainment value…

And yet there are plenty of people willing to find this funny and make some rationalizations. We admit that we found it fairly humorous when Justin Bieber got whacked by a water bottle onstage, and maybe that time when a guy fell from the rafters at an A$AP Rocky show. But this is a really bad scene from Afroman here.

Check out this longer video from the Biloxi, Mississippi show, too. Afroman is going to have a hard time supporting his initial claim that he was just surprised by an intruder on stage. That’s what he told the cops. Yeah, Afroman was arrested, thankfully. We also think he’s about to lose a big chunk of whatever’s left of his dwindling one-hit fortune…
