Tequila Herradura

Tequila Herradura along with Thrillist, celebrated the “Barrel Art Collection” competition, at Villain in Brooklyn. The Villain is a great event space which Herradura completely took advantage of that night. The place was full of colorful and amazing art work from all the talented artists who participated. Herradura not only provided great visuals but but equally great drinks.

One drink in particular was the 2014 Tequila Herradura Colección de la Casa, which features a limited time tequila from a scotch cask. During the event Herradura gave a toast to the Barrel collection and the artist with Scotch cask infused tequila. At the end, Phoenix Lindsey-Hall won $10,000 as first place prize, while Julien Gardair and Kate Fauvell won second and third place, receiving $3,000 and $1,000 respectively.

The event included the artist, influencers and media who enjoyed the artwork and crafted cocktails. Herradura, in support of the arts, donated $70,000 to Creative Capital, an organization that supports innovative and adventurous artists nationwide through funding, counsel and career development services.

Here’s a quote from the winner, Phoenix Lindsey-Hall:

“Winning this competition is definitely a game changer. It’s absolutely amazing, said Phoenix. “I am excited to have been recognized by a brand such as Herradura that is 145 years old and still manages to keep it fresh in supporting local artists.”  The judges for the night had to base their decisions off on originality, creativity, overall quality and the inclusion of elements and values that represent Tequila Herradura.

New York was one of the final stops in the Herradura Art Collection tour, to see and learn more about the “Herradura Barrel Art Collection,” visit www.herradurabarrelart.com.

1/2 pound blunt bong

We don’t have much to add to this photo of a half-pound blunt shaped like a bong, except that it’s fully functional, amazing, and making us jealous.

It’s rolled by Nature’s Lab Extracts.

As you can see in the video below, some guy even took a dab hit from it.

This is easily the best waste of marijuana we’ve ever seen in our entire lives… that we can remember. We’ve seen some impressive sh*t but this takes the cake. Guess we’re adding something to our list of “The Ten Biggest Blunts We’ve Ever Seen Smoked On Camera.”

We are not spending Christmas in Hawaii, but it’s sure looking like Paradise as we work through the holidays with a parade of intimate Instagram pics.

Johnny Manziel Says This Year Has Been “A Year Of Growing Up”

Cleveland Browns v Carolina Panthers

No one thought Johnny Manziel would have it easy when he started his pro career with the Cleveland Browns. Manziel got hurt during last week’s game and will miss the season finale–but not after passing for just 175 yards in two games as a starter. Manziel’s looking back at the season now, and told ESPN that he “doesn’t think it’d be fair to give up on somebody after seven quarters of football.” [photo: Grant Halverson/Getty]

It’s been quite the learning curve for Manziel as he tries to adjust to the NFL game and he has admitted that he needs to go into this offseason with a different mindset. It is going to be a very important offseason for Manziel if he plans to be the starting quarterback for the Browns when next season begins. Cleveland fans aren’t going to put up with another few games like Manziel had again next season.

Manziel added that “it’s been a year of growing up for me. It’s a job for me now. I have to take it a lot more seriously than maybe I did at first.” That would be very true and maybe he will learn that the pro game is completely different than playing at Texas A&M. The 2015 season can’t come soon enough for Manziel to prove any naysayers he may have differently.

Alessandra Ambrosio and her sexy strip tease is looking to be the biggest hit of this year’s Advent Calendar of hot models from the UK’s Love magazine–and there’s been some serious competition. We’ve taken the time to salute some serious Xmas video from the likes of Lizzy Jagger and Emily Ratajkowski. We were a little less excited about two(!) appearances by Kris Jenner, and that day with Beth Ditto. There are a lot of sexy big girls in the world, but we’re not sure Beth is one of them.

Anyway, the calendar is still in action (with Adriana Lima bringing Christmas Eve in hot)–but we keep going back to Alessandra Ambrosio’s sexy striptease. Take a look at these sexy stills of the Victoria’s Secret supermodel struggling to get intimate, and start feeling a lot of Yuletide cheer (and the video is here)…

The Knicks are 5-25–just one game ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers who are tanking at a historic level–but what I’m most upset about is the fact Iman Shumpert has gotten rid of his spectacular flattop haircut.

This coming just a few weeks after Shumpert revealed his new personal logo. A flattop.

Nothing’s going right for the Knicks right now.

I came across this video on Break this morning titled “Atheist Dog Hates Christmas and Everything It Stands For”.  So naturally I clicked through.   As it turns out, this dog is neither an Atheist, nor a Christmas hater, he’s just a really f**king smart dog.  His owner’s voice is so revolting, it’s amazing the pooch showed so much restraint.

Heavy Metal Christmas Carols: 15 Headbangin’ Holiday Hits [VIDEOS]

Heavy Metal Christmas Carols

Being born of Black Sabbath, heavy metal often boasts about being the devil’s music. However, the seductive power of Christmastime has beguiled plenty of hell-bent headbangers into channeling the Yuletide spirit. Of course, that’s been done through stacked Marshall amps, down-tuned power chords, and soaring vocal acrobatics that prefer to sing out for unholy occasions.

The icons of mixing heavy metal and holiday merriment remain Trans-Siberian Orchestra. That’s the multi-platinum brainchild of Paul O’Neill–former Savatage collaborator and a producer/manager who’s worked with AC/DC, Aerosmith, Joan Jett, and Scorpions.

But other metal musicians take a more stripped-down approach to bringing out the carnality in Christmas carols. Either way, hard-rock covers of traditional holiday songs have become yet another staple of the season. There are enough that we had to narrow things down to get to the 15 Best Heavy Metal Christmas Carols–but we’re feeling pretty good about these new takes on beloved Christmas anthems…

Twisted Sister – “O Come, All Ye Faithful”

Dee Snider has explained the formula for his signature hit “We’re Not Gonna Take It” as such: “Slade plus the Sex Pistols plus ‘O Come All Ye Faithful.'” On this hit cover, he drops Slade and the Pistols, but he does add a bit of “Hava Nagila.”

Ronnie James Dio & Tony Iommi – “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”

Leave it to Black Sabbath’s second vocalist and founding guitarist to cover the only Christmas carol that explicitly invokes Satan by name.

Manowar – “Silent Night”

Metal’s most muscular band go all delicate with their “Silent Night,” saving the bombast for last–indicating that this “Silent Night” is followed by a deafening day ahead.

Queensryche – “White Christmas”

Seattle’s prog royalty adds complex layers to the Bing Crosby standard. Had he lived a few more decades, maybe Der Bingle would have invited Geoff Tate to duet with him on a Christmas TV special–a la Bing’s duet with David Bowie.

Lemmy, Billy Gibbons, Dave Grohl – “Run, Run Rudolph”

Motörhead’s fire-breathing frontman sings lead, ZZ Top’s head beard jams on guitar, and Dave Grohl mans the drum kit on a rollicking run through Chuck Berry’s classic chestnut.

Rob Halford – We Three Kings

Judas Priest’s always operatic lead singer escalates “We Three Kings” to a fiery journey where you’ll feel every field and fountain, Moor and mountain.

Austrian Death Machine – “Jingle Bells”

Gag band Austrian Death Machine sings exclusively about Arnold Schwarzenegger movies—except here, and it’s beautiful.

Christopher Lee – “Little Drummer Boy”

92-year-old screen legend Christopher Lee is beloved for playing pure evil as Dracula, along with his work in the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars movies. He’s also currently kicking ass in the final installment of The Hobbit. Furthermore, Mr. Lee has become quite the heavy metal vocalist of late. Check out his baritone bringing booming gravitas to every “ba-rum-pa-pum-pum.”

August Burns Red – “Sleigh Ride”

The velocity of this forward-charging instrumental has this tune sounding more like “Sleigh Ride the Lightning.”

Chuck Billy and Scott Ian – “Silent Night”

Testament’s frontman and Anthrax’s lead guitarist make a whole lot of racket out of this “Silent Night.”

Korn – “Kidnap the Sandy Claws”

Nü-metal marauders Korn sound both menacing and merry revving up this toe-tapper from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Warrant – “Father Christmas”

Hair-metal madmen Warrant play it pretty straight on the Kinks’ classic about Satna getting mugged.

Black Label Society – “O Little Town of Bethlehem”

Zakk Wylde slows down, eases up, and utterly enchants as his guitar leads us all to the titular “Little Town.”

Gilby Clarke – “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke goes almost pop-punk recounting his mom’s extra-marital mistletoe activity.

Girlschool – “Auld Lang Syne”

Subtitled “A Headbanging New Year,” England’s all-female metal coven ring it with proper horn-hailing style.

Hot Games of the Week Reviewed: December 24

hottest games of the week

Although many of the games in this week’s roundup are either expansions or offbeat, indie downloads, one of gaming’s biggest icons — Sonic the Hedgehog — is turning back the clock with a pair of old-fashioned boxed releases. The Blue Blur may not be what he used to be, but for the true believers who have stuck with the character through the good times and the bad, the new Wii U and 3DS releases are a reason to celebrate.

Another blast from the past hits the 3DS in the form of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, which rounds up three legendary DS games in a single download. Those looking to squeeze more out of Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and Skylanders Trap Team are in luck, because strong new expansions have hit the market.

Reviews by Phil Villarreal. Phil is an authorblogger and Twitterer. Publishers provided review copies.

Jackbox
The Jackbox Party Pack

(PS4, Xbox One, PS3, $25, Teen)

Cleverly avoiding the need for extra controllers by allowing players to use smartphones, tablets or laptopos, The Jackbox Party Pack rounds up a slew of funny, inventive board game-style party games. You Don’t Know Jack, Fibbage XL, Drawful, Word Spud, and Lie Swatter are all included. Most are variations on the basic formula of You Don’t Know Jack with various twists. Drawful, for instance, is something like Pictionary and Draw Something, while Word Spud is a distant cousin of Boggle.

Games allow anywhere from two to 100 players to take part, and the focus is on the living room. Online play between distant friends just doesn’t work, and it’s too bad there’s not a mode that allows that. Still, the games work well for the purpose for which they were designed, and the $5-a-pop value you get for diversions that could conceivably give you months of entertainment is tough to beat. Although it’s easy to burn out on any one of the offerings, you’ll best appreciate them if you keep them in a steady and equal rotation.

Squad

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham: The Squad DLC

(Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, $3, Everyone 10+)

Included in the $15 season pass — which also includes Man of Steel, Dark Knight, Batman 75th, Arrow and Bizarro World add-on packs, The Squad is also available alone for $3. Set in the Belle Reve Penitentiary, you bash your way through a prison by playing as the likes of Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang and Deathstroke in order to ferret out an enemy that has infiltrated the supervillain collective.

In addition to the new playable characters, there is also a slate of vehicles to try out and achievements to go for. Lego Batman 3 isn’t exactly short on the content, but The Squad is a lively contribution to the sprawling, sometimes lackadaisical package.

Phoenix Wright

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy

(3DS, $30, Teen)

One of the franchises that helped the original Nintendo DS hit its stride was the Phoenix Wright series, which brought an oddball Japanese take on coutroom drama and applied it to a point-and-click adventure game format. Although the series has fallen off as of late, making it onto the 3DS only as occasional downloads, the original games hold up as well as any from the DS days. The formula puts your memory and logical skills to the test, giving your twitch reflexes and button-pounding skills a test.

Remastered versions of the 2001 original, as well as its sequels Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations, fill out the set. You can play the games in any order you like, hopping among save files from any, but they’re best enjoyed chronologically. The trilogy is filled with dozens of hours of often ridiculous but always entertaining court drama, but it’s too bad Capcom didn’t toss in the Apollo Justice and Miles Edgeworth spin-offs to further strengthen the set’s case.

Skylanders

Skylanders Trap Team: Light and Dark Expansions

($30 each)

Two new elements — Light and Dark — shake up the Skylanders Trap Team world with new quest packs, as well as characters and items to explore them. The two packs of action figures, sold separately, introduce the characters Knight Light and Knight Mare, angelic and demonic warriors you can toss into your rotation of characters, bumping up their levels as you plow through enemies.

While Skylanders games have always been liberal with maps and mini-expansions, those have always been confined to short bursts. The introduction of new elements, which give characters representing the element special advantages and powers in areas conducive to their skills, turns the game on its side and adds potential hours of new gameplay for any character in your repertoire. If you’ve blown through the main game and are looking for realms in which to flex your heroes’ muscles, you might find need to drop another $60 on these expansions.

Rise of Lyric

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric

(Wii U, $50, Everyone 10+)

Decent Sonic games are few and far between these days, but you can’t knock Sega for failing to take chances with the character. In recent years, Sonic has transformed into a werewolf, reverted back to his side-scrolling ways, taken to the skies and teamed up with a neverending parade of supporting characters. Rise of Lyric doesn’t take as many chances as previous Sonic games, but it nor does it do anything to distinguish itself from others in the series. A drab and boring adventure, sloppy controls and a strange sense of slowness stifles what could have been an above-average entry, and another reason to pick up a Wii U.

A game about Sonic that so thoroughly fails to capture the hero’s sense of speed is a missed opportunity. Sonic plods rather than motors, and whenever he gets a sense of momentum it’s too easy to lose control of his spastic antics and find yourself a victim of a cheap death. There’s little of the sense of joy that the games from Sonic’s glory days thrived on, and whatever energy the game picks up flops when it comes to unimaginative boss battles.

Sonic Boom

Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal

(3DS, $40, Everyone)

While a better overall effort than its Wii U counterpart, Shattered Crystal also suffers plenty of the same drawbacks as its big brother. The portable Sonic Boom is too slow and slipshod for its own good, but its handheld-friendly, small-bite levels don’t wear as thin as some of Rise of Lyric‘s more agonizing moments. The puzzle-platforming is entertaining in small bites, but extended play yields the same sense of disappointment as Rise of Lyric.

Boss battles are lackluster and too easy but tolerable, and the flimsy level design at least lacks the frustrations of the Wii U version. While you can do a lot better, even with recent Sonic entries, this isn’t a total flop. If you must choose between the two new Sonic games, go with this one.

Jingle Bells

The year is 1949, and people are going to the movies to see a double feature with some newsreels and a cartoon because America has beaten the Nazis and life is good again. People were even ready for a singalong Christmas cartoon about getting laid. Which, it turns out, is “Jingle Bells.”

We did not know this–until, that is, the fine folks at Youtube channel Xmas Flix posted the cartoon “Snow Foolin’,” which ends with that “Jingle Bells” singalong. Check it out and learn that there’s an entire extra verse where a guy is riding along in a sleigh and picks up a gal for a little action. “She didn’t seem to mind,” say the lyrics, so that’s good to know. Now we feel a lot better about using “Jingle Boobs” as the title for some sexy Christmas GIFs.

Take a look for yourself this fine Christmas morning. You can probably win a few bar bets with this, or baffle your friends by continuing to sing after they’re finished with their clearly inferior version of “Jingle Bells” during next year’s SantaCon. Consider this a morning Christmas gift from your pals at COED. Yeah, we’re cheap…

It’s a beautiful Christmas morning–except for the fact that Christmas means the Jingle Ball season is over. We’re always happy to see the different hot showcases in major cities of the year’s biggest pop stars. A lot of those stars are also plenty hot. [photo: Mike Coppola/Getty]

We’ve checked out all of them as they came together, but the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2014–hosted by Z100 New York and presented by Goldfish Puffs(!)–featured a lot of our favorite pop divas. Coincidentally enough, that also includes a lot of the year’s sexiest pop divas.

So check out pictures of beauties like Taylor Swift, Charlie XCX, and Ariana Grande–not to mention our favorite pop duo of Rita Ora and Iggy Azalea, who also put on a hot display of lesbianic yearning earlier this year. They kept it cleaner for the Jingle Ball tweener audience, but we still got plenty excited seeing those two on stage. Now get excited this Christmas morning with a few of our favorite pics–and we guess it’s only 355 days until they start again…

Doug Fister

Washington Nationals’ Doug Fister was feeling the Christmas spirit on Xmas Eve.  The pitcher offered up a Starbucks gift card to his twitter followers to have a cup of joe on him. Anticipating that some might take advantage of such a generous offer, he asked his fans not to be a Grinch and only use the barcode once.

Fister is definitely not hurting for cash, pulling in 7.2 million in 2014.  Regardless of his wealth, he showed himself to be a real class act. Way to go Doug.

Update:  Word about Fister’s generosity spread quick and the card was emptied within three hours of his tweet.  He followed up saying the gift card was meant to be on a first come, first served basis.

Here’s a fantastic gift you never asked for, a Christmas version of Yeezus titled Kreezus. It’s brilliant. LA group Local Business Comedy wrote entirely new lyrics over every single Yeezus track to give them a holiday theme.

On their Facebook page they claim that they’re a comedy trio first, but there’s something to be said for the quality of these rhymes. Stream the whole album below, but if you listen to one song make sure it’s “Wrapped 2.”

New Sleighs: “Mrs. Claus was raised in the era when/ Clean snow was only rode by Jack Skellington/ Ridin snow you woulda thought I had help/ But they wasn’t satisfied unless I shoveled snow myself.”

Monkey Saves Life of Monkey Bro in Christmas Miracle [VIDEO]

Monkey Bro Saves Monkey

A monkey in India was hanging out with his monkey pals over by the railroad tracks, and one of the monkeys went walking on an electrical wire and got a serious shock. It looked fatal, in fact. Fortunately, that monkey had a true bro who was like, all, “Damn, my bro is down! I must help!”

And that’s what the monkey did, as seen in one of about 300 videos shot by people standing on the train tracks in India. That’s a lot of people going to work on Christmas.

Anyway, we chose this video because it’s always funny to hear a crisp British accent intoning about monkeys. This is a real Christmas miracle, too. We tried to cross the subway tracks once, and one of our bros accidentally touched the third rail, and we said, “Bro, are you okay?” Then we just ran away because the body was smoldering. This video is what happens when God is one of us. Or a monkey…

And here’s another angle. We told you that there were a lot of people filming this…

Irina Shayk is ready to keep your Christmas spirit going by unwrapping herself for Boxing Day as part of this year’s Advent Calendar of hot models from the UK’s Love magazine. We’ve never been happier to see a celebration of Boxing Day, either. That’s the British tradition where the rich English people would put their servants in boxing rings on the day after Christmas and watch them beat up each other. It was kind of like Fight Club.

Anyway, we have our favorite video stills from the very sexy video of Irina Shayk unboxing herself for Boxing Day. It’s a great comeback from when Love celebrated Christmas Day with Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevinge. Well, it was kind of cute to see Kendall and Cara cavorting around for Christmas. You should probably still watch the video, but your imagination will have to fill in a lot of blanks.

And you’ll also want to check out Alessandra Ambrosio and her sexy strip tease, plus Love‘s fine work this year with Lizzy Jagger and Emily Ratajkowski.
