This isn’t the first Focus trailer, but the Will Smith/Margot Robbie con caper sure looks a lot improved. In fact, we’re going to start thinking of Focus as a Margot Robbie/Will Smith movie. After all, we’ve seen Will Smith playing all kinds of confident hucksters. It’s a lot more impressive to see Margot Robbie being just as charming and fun.
Focus suddenly seems a lot more like a sign of serious stardom for Margot–who, of course, is also joining up with Will Smith for the upcoming DC Comics movie Suicide Squad. We’re thinking that Margot’s Harley Quinn has a much better chance of stealing the movie than Will Smith’s homicidal Deadshot. Memphis football player Alan Cross–Alex Cross’s somewhat concussed cousin–demonstrated to everyone watching the Miami Beach Bowl game exactly how Mondays feel to him.

Anger Management, the Charlie Sheen sitcom that arose from his supremely public post-Two and a Half Men “tiger blood” freak-out comes to a close Monday night after two seasons. That might sound like an unsuccessful run, but consider that Anger Management has produced 98 episodes since 2012. That’s normally about five years’ worth of shows. Perhaps there really was something to all that “Vatican assassin” talk.

Quentin Tarantino’s Los Angeles revival theater the New Beverly Cinema presents “A Grindhouse Christmas” with a double feature of these two holiday horror hair-raisers. Black Christmas (1974) is a terrifying proto-slasher flick set in a sorority house on Christmas Eve, and it’s made all the more freaky once you realize it was directed by Bob Clark, who also made A Christmas Story (as well as Porky’s). Christmas Evil (1980) is psycho-on-the-loose lunacy at its most enjoyably insane. In fact, John Waters has long championed Christmas Evil as his favorite holiday film

Skidoo, the single most insane motion picture ever made finally makes it to Blu-ray. You don’t have to be a fan or even remotely familiar with old Hollywood to be entertainingly dumbstruck by this all-star 1968 LSD musical disaster. You don’t even have to be stoned—because you’ll feel like you are no matter what. Just imagine Jackie Gleason tripping on acid in prison, Carol Channing stripping out of George Washington costume while singing the title song, and Groucho Marx ruling over all things as a gangster named God. You don’t have to imagine that, though; just see Skidoo.

It begins with the classic Big Jake at 6pm, followed by Rio Bravo; Cahill, US Marshall; Chisum; The Horse Soldiers; The Quiet Man; The Cowboys; True Grit; The Sons of Katie Elder; and the Duke’s all-time masterwork, The Searchers. Worth noting: there’s a half-hour break at 4:30am for a Three Stooges short.

TBS launches its annual 24-hour marathon of the 1983 coming-of-age nostalgia classic at 8pm. Adapted from stories told by legendary radio monologist Jean Shepard (who narrates), A Christmas Story chronicles the heroic quest of young Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) to acquire a Red Rider BB gun under the tree in 1940s Indiana. It is relentlessly charming and best enjoyed with Chinese turkey.

Mythbusters fans can tune into the Science Channel at 6am on Christmas Eve to enjoy 220 consecutive episodes of the beloved series over the course of the next ten days straight,. That wraps things up on January 2, 2015. FXX’s “Every. Simpsons. Ever.” event still holds the record for TV’s longest marathon at twelve days straight. A week-and-a-half of uninterrupted Jamie and Adam is still the stuff of myth itself.

After you’ve opened your presents and silently plotted tomorrow’s returns and exchange strategies, settle in among the crumpled wrapping paper with an entire afternoon and evening of pro basketball to ease you toward Boxing Day. Action tips off at 12 noon EST with the Wizards at Knicks, followed by Thunder at Spurs, Cavaliers at Heat, Lakers at Bulls, and–at the late start time of 10:30 pm–Warriors at Clippers.
This weekend the NYPD lost two officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, when gunman Ismaaiyl Brinsley snuck up on them and executed them in broad daylight in the streets of Brooklyn. It’s awful.
But Bowdoin College, the school that one of Rafael’s sons attends, just stepped up to the plate and helped the Ramos family with one of the many burdens they’ll face in the future by waiving tuition for Justin Ramos. This news follows the offer of George Steinbrenner’s charity, The Silver Shield Foundation, to pay for all of the Ramos’ schooling.
Here’s their official statement:
“We are eager to welcome Justin back to campus for the start of our second semester in January, or whenever he is ready to return, and we will do everything we can to support him through this period. In the meantime, we will respect his privacy and that of his family as they deal with this terrible loss.
At President Mills’s direction, Dean of Student Affairs Tim Foster informed Justin early Sunday morning that the College will provide full financial aid to enable him to complete his Bowdoin education.
This is in keeping with Bowdoin’s practice of meeting the full financial need of each of our students for all four years. We are grateful for the Yankee Silver Shield Foundation’s offer to assist, but Bowdoin has it covered.”

It was nearly 30 years old when the New York Mets and Darryl Strawberry agreed to a contract where some of his 1990 salary would be put into an annuity. Well, with Strawberry’s legal issues in the past several years, the IRS has had to seize the rest of the annuity. Fans can now be involved in an auction to get the nearly $1.28 million that Strawberry was supposed to get. [lead image via Harry How / Getty Images]
Strawberry was forced to give part of the deferred money to his wife as part of a divorce settlement in 2006 but never made the payments and then he filed for bankruptcy. The auction is being held on Jan. 20 in Fairview Heights, IL with the minimum bid being $550,000 according to ESPN.com and a filing on the Department of Treasury website.
The winner will receive the money in 223 monthly payments meaning that there would be a paycheck coming in every month for almost 11 years. There are surely going to be a lot of people who make an effort to win the remaining payments. The way things are going for Strawberry, he may want to go back to Springfield and play for Mr. Burns’ softball team again.
Candice Swanepoel did a bathing suit shoot for Victoria’s Secret Swim back in July, and we sure thought that was a big deal. We stand by that fine reporting, too. Now we’re even more excited to see Candice has been brought up to wrap up a fine year of Victoria’s Secret with a return to VS Swim territory.

Many people sit in their homes playing video games all day long and believe that their experience running a football team in a game qualifies them for a real head coaching job. A story on the ESPN website from last Monday night says that 46 people applied for the open University of Wisconsin football job with many of them citing in their resumes that they had years of video game experience. Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez decided to go the route of former assistant coach Paul Chryst at the end of the day but some of the other applicants were really out there. When people are writing in their resumes that they are “ridiculously good” at NCAA football for Xbox 360, that’s going over a line where someone may want to go out more often.
Chryst was an actual college head coach at Pittsburgh before he got the job at Wisconsin. That probably beats out any person who applied with their video game experience or someone who wanted $10 million to do the job. It just shows once again what people believe can happen if they just try really hard at a video game or at life and want to make it to the big time.
The inaugural Miami Beach Bowl ended in spectacular fashion–double OT with a massive fight between BYU and Memphis to end the game.
The brawl started after the Memphis defense picked off a BYU pass in the 2nd OT and immediately started celebrating, some players choosing to do so in front of the BYU bench.
As you can see in the video below, that didn’t sit very well with BYU players. You can understand why tempers might flare, especially after such a back-and-forth game.
Easily the guy who got the worst of the fight was #12 Kai Nacua. He can be seen throwing real, actual punches in the clip below (on the left he comes in).
But wait, it gets worse. Keep your eye on Kai at the end of that clip, and then watch this. Homeboy gets knocked to the ground, giving Kai what we’re guessing what his first appearance on the BYU Instagram meme @SleepOnTheField.
Unhappy with getting embarassed on national television, Kai then goes and does something cowardly like this.
More than likely, that sucker punch will be the last action that Kai sees in a BYU uniform. I’m guessing a religious school won’t stand for that kind of behavior.
Expect serious penalties to come down on both teams.
Verily ’tis the most boobalicious Christmas season of all time, guys, as we celebrate the holiday with the most rockin’ jingle boobs of all time. Yes, it’s a bouncing and beautiful Yuletide scene as we look at Christmas-bedecked boobies that are hoppin’ around in cheerful scenes that get our eyeball poppin’.

This morning, ESPN published a really interesting piece on Oregon’s ball boy Kwame Mitchell.
Ever since the introduction of FSU’s own ball boy Frankie “Red Lightning” Grizzle-Malgrat, the media has been paying close attention to the importance of ball boys and their impact on the game.
Part of it is for fun, but part of it is the fact that a competent, quick ball boy is key for college football offenses who want to move the ball with pace.
That’s why Oregon–arguably the fastest offense in all of college football–held seriously difficult tryouts for their own ball boy. As ESPN reports, Kwame Mitchell successfully completed the Spring season and was named one of the teams managers.
But here’s the craziest (and best) part: Oregon put Kwame on scholarship. That just goes to show you how important teams think their ball boys are.
Look for Kwame and his hair in the Rose Bowl when the Oregon Ducks take on Red Lightning and the FSU Seminoles.

Today it was announced that Sony would allow a limited number of independent movie theaters (rumored around 20) to screen The Interview on Christmas Day. Here is a list of theaters who have confirmed they will screen the controversial movie.

It should be noted that both The Alamo and The Plaza have been seriously pushing for The Interview since the controversy originally started. They were also the ones who wanted to air Team America in its place. Good on Sony for giving these independent theaters some good news.
If you’re not trying to be all American and watch this movie in theaters, Sony has also announced that The Interview will be available via a streaming service. We’ll have more information on that as time comes. Check back for updates.
Although famously set “a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away,” the unmistakably earthbound phenomenon of Christmas came fast and early to the Star Wars universe—at least in terms of pumping out highly marketable commercial material for the holidays.
Most often, this set-up has led to endless Star Wars delights delivered under countless Christmas trees. Occasionally, though, the same Lucasfilm impulse that once barfed forth Jar Jar Binks has also laid its share of cosmically stinky Yule stools.
Here are five Star Wars Christmas items that never should have been pulled out of that trash compactor on the Death Star…
No matter how many times you watch it, 1978’s CBS primetime debacle defies belief. Chewbacca’s family simply cannot be. The guest star lineup of Bea Arthur, Art Carney, Harvey Corman, and Jefferson Starship is too confounding for existence to allow. Carrie Fisher singing the “Life Day” lyrics to the Star Wars theme is beyond what is possible. The Boba Fett cartoon is still pretty cool, but the rest of it… go ahead. Watch again. You still won’t believe this could have ever happened.
Record producer Meco Monardo–who scored a huge pop hit with a disco version of the Star Wars theme–followed up with this 1980 holiday cash-in LP. Anthony Daniels narrates as C-3PO and there’s no lack of droid bleeps and Chewbacca howls. The worst part? The songs really, powerfully stick in your head. So listen with caution lest you spend the entire holiday humming numbers such as “What Do You Get a Wookiee for Christmas (When He Already Owns a Comb)?” Extra embarrassing trivia: young Jon Bon Jovi sings lead on “R2-D2, We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
If there is one quality not easily associated with Jedi master Yoda, it’s the state of being “merry.” Regardless, Lucasfilm has licensed the little green font of wisdom dressed up as Santa Claus in a variety of formats, including an inflatable lawn decoration and something called a “peekbuster.” Lame they are.
By its very nature, an Advent Calendar is specifically religious, as it’s a device for the faithful to count down to the birthday of their savior. The Star Wars Lego Advent Calendar is a twenty-five goofy little toys in numerically marked boxes. May the Force help us all.

The first Entourage movie trailer was released today, as our boy Turtle promised us yesterday…
Did you spot Gronk, Edelman and the rest of the Patriots players on the same yacht as Nina Agdal? No? That’ll give you another reason to watch it again. If you’re looking to see whether or not there’s a plot in Entourage, your guess is as good as ours.
In addition to the trailer, a few still photos were leaked/released by Jeremy Piven on his app Spin My Planet. These pictures were our first hint that Calvin Harris would be appearing alongside Vinny Chase in the movie Hyde which looks like a DJ/superhero flick. That hint has since been confirmed.
They also revealed that Nina Agdal would be appearing in the movie, but we already knew that. Expect to see Emily Ratajkowsi in the Entourage Movie as well.

The trailer Entourage: The Movie trailer was released today and we learned the release date will be Summer 2015, July 5th.
The plot of the Entourage movie is that Vinny is the director of a new movie Hyde, where he plays what looks to be a super-villain DJ. Surprisingly enough, Calvin Harris seems to be playing a policeman.
Also, we learn that Turtle has a love interest in UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, Ari is having anger issues (maybe stemming from the fact that Hyde looks like garbage), Vinny might be emotionally invested in Emily Ratajkowski, and Drama is busy being Drama.
We’ve got a full list of celebrity cameos spotted in the trailer if you’re interested, chances are that you might have missed some serious NFL bros bonging beers.

Here’s a weird holiday treat from Hollywood–an 11-hour long video to promote Exodus: Gods and Kings, with a single shot of the movie’s burning bush as the entire book of Exodus scrolls along the screen. It’s pretty cool. Also, don’t forget that Hanukkah is still rocking along right up to the night of December 24th. You could start reading the Biblical triumph of the Jews right now, and still have time for last-minute holiday shopping.
We’ve watched it very carefully, and can confirm that the bush keeps burning for 11 whole hours. That might be even longer than it burns in the Bible. We’re not sure. As we recall, Moses kind of just finds the bush already burning when it starts speaking as the voice of God. We bet that it could’ve easily burned for as long as in a Youtube video, though.
