After being hacked and threatened by the despotic nation of North Korea, Sony Pictures canceled its huge Christmas release comedy The Interview last week. As 2014 marches to a close, it seems few news stories have blown up bigger (no pun intended, and hopefully never applicable).

Reaction has varied worldwide. President Barack Obama says he thought the studio was wrong–and got the name of The Interview‘s star wrong himself. That was funny. Perpetual white knight George Clooney claims he attempted to tough-talk his fellow stars and studio heads to show just how brave Hollywood truly is. That was even funnier.

Dr. Evil has also checked in. That should’ve been funnier.

Amidst it all, witty Internet users have been reliably rushing to mock up some fine mockery. They don’t seem afraid of North Korea for some reason. Anyway, as we head into a Jong-approved Christmas movie season, let’s at least enjoy some big laughs courtesy of a few fun memes and Photoshop gags…

Yes, it’s the last roundup of the daily COED Instagram feed before Christmas–and we’ll admit to not having a lot of Christmas cheer over the past few weeks. To be honest, we get plenty of cheer just checking out the assorted bikini’d babes and lingerie’d ladies who make our work day worth living. We’re also really happy to get worked up over the weekend with this look at the Spirit of Babes Past.

But in the holiday spirit, let’s start with holiday hottie Terran Hilow. She’s getting our spirits up really high. Same goes for ladies in red like Valeria Orsini and Chantel Zales–who get together in lingerie for a double dose of Yuletide euphoria. Superstar rocker Paul Stanley is best known as the lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and anti-laser-pointer activist of KISS. Back in 2000, however, Stanley attempted to add supermarket coffee pitchman to his storied body of work by belting out an original anthem for a circus-themed Folger’s commercial.

The ad never aired, but the internet has finally gotten a copy. Folger’s has never had so much free publicity, and Stanley–a man proudly associated with KISS coffins and KISS condoms–has never looked so lovably mercenary. Clad in a collarless button-up white shirt and clutching a hot mug as his black mane is frozen motionless in full Tommy Wiseau coif, the erstwhile Starchild steps into a big top tent and serenades trapeze artists…

This is your wake-up call
Time to reach, go for it all
Folger’s stirs inside of me
And I know what I can be

The limit is the sky
Hey, world–watch me…fly!

Stanley ends the ad with an especially enthusiastic spin on Folger’s “best part of waking up” jingle, followed by an abracadabra maneuver that feels appropriately pulled from the Vegas illusionist vibe he gives off the whole time. We’re not spoiling anything. Words cannot do this justice.

No official reason has surfaced as to why the commercial never aired, but just look at it. The best part of waking up today will be watching and re-watching this fantastically terrible (and terribly fantastic) advertising debacle…

This year’s Mysteryland music festival in Chile sure got some unexpected publicity, courtesy of a Chilean shock jock who got a female music fiend to win some tickets by…um, doing something kind of obscene on the air. We like how the proper Brits described it best. Anyway, we wouldn’t do what that lady did for tickets. We wouldn’t have made out with that lady afterward for tickets, either. We would, however, compile some hot Instagram moments from the festival featuring other female fans. And we did.

Of course, it’s been a great 2014 for hot babes at music festivals. Just consider the beauties at gatherings like the Ultra Music Festival, and the cuties of Coachella, or the babes of Bonnaroo. There were also lots of festival hotties at events like Electric Zoo and Tomorrowland and Electric Daisy. You’ll really want to check out all of those galleries, since the ladies of Mysteryland weren’t quite as quick to take off their clothes. It was kind of cold over the weekend, and definitely gets chilly there at night–but there were still enough spirited EDM dolls to give us a Hot 40 (or so) of memorable sightings. And since they all already had their tickets, nothing obscene happened…

Iggy Azalea has a history of “beef’ with Azalea Banks, but now it looks like online hacktivists Anonymous have tagged up with Azalea Banks. This weekend the online activists threatened to release stills of an Iggy sex tape they claim to have in response to comments the Australian rapper made about protestors in NYC.

**@AnonMessage–the twitter handle where the threat was originally posted–has been suspended. But here are screenshots of what they said.**

This is the first time we’ve really heard about the possibility of an Iggy Azalea sex tape. If the tape actually exists (and there’s a very good chance it doesn’t) there’s a possibility that it was made with Swaggy P. TerezOwens claims to have a screenshot of that video here, but it looks fake to us.

Florida State University has given the green light Jameis Winston to play in the 2014 College Football Playoffs after he was cleared of any potential violations following his code of conduct hearing.

Update: Chad Kelly’s Twitter account, recently updated to read “Ole Miss Quarterback,” has since been deleted. His last Tweet was on December 20th, reading “Someone please tell me there is a chipotle in Oxford.”

Chad Kelly is a mediocre at best Division I QB who calls himself “Swag.” That’s not the worst thing about him, though. This past weekend he was arrested in Buffalo after a fight at a club, Encore, where he got his a** kicked and then threatened to shoot up the club with an AK-47.

Buffalo? Kelly? Yes, Chad is Jim Kelly’s nephew.

Here’s how the Buffalo News reports what happened:

“Kelly, 20, of Niagara Falls, refused to leave Encore at 492 Pearl St. about 3:15 a.m. and punched a bouncer in the face, Buffalo police said. Kelly’s companion, Brandon Hickey, 21, of Clarence, had been thrown out of the bar earlier and tried to re-enter, police said.

Kelly continued to fight with two bouncers and stated “I’m going to go to my car and get my AK-47 and spray this place,” according to a report.

Buffalo police officers responding to that alleged threat stopped a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck in which Kelly was a passenger at 458 Pearl.” [source]

Chad Kelly used to be the QB for the Clemson Tigers, but was thrown off the team after he allegedly threatened to beat up a woman he and a friend hit while driving drunk in a parking lot. He’s currently signed on to play with Ole Miss next year.

The Detroit Pistons have announced that they’ve waived forward Josh Smith. Literally everyone in the world is happy.

• Josh Smith is happy because he hated being in Detroit.

• Detroit is happy because Josh Smith is Josh Smith

• West Coast contenders are happy because they can possibly sign Josh Smith to a cheap contract. He is still owed $26 million over two years.

The Pistons will be using the stretch provision on Josh Smith, according to Woj. Here’s an explanation of what the “stretch provision”–implemented in 2011–really means.

That means the Pistons will be paid $5.4 million over the next five years. Ouch. Even worse, they had the opportunity to move Josh Smith to Sacramento for Carl Landry and Jason Thompson in summer, but passed.

As far as Josh Smith is concerned, he’s getting paid by the Detroit Pistons and will clear the waivers in 48 hours. That means that he’ll have the opportunity to play for pretty much any team that wants him at a below-market price.

Warner Brothers has finally released the first photo from the movie, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.–one of three spy movies that landed on our list of “The Most Anticipated Movies of 2015.” Technically it’s a spy comedy, but we’re really looking forward to seeing what becomes of this movie.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Elizabeth Debicki, Alicia Vickander and Hugh Grant.

Here’s the first picture of Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange for the upcoming Marvel superhero movie–although nobody’s shot a single frame of the film, and this is probably more of a Photoshop kind of concept art. It was posted by Dr. Strange director Scott Derrickson, though, so that makes it kind of legit.

Also, it’s pretty intriguing for geeks. Everyone expects that the main Dr. Strange villain will be the flame-headed Dormammu, but this image (which just might be meant to be all freaky) really evokes the comic-book character Eternity. He’s the leader of a group of ancients called the Cosmic Powers, and….well, it’s complicated.

The important thing is that Dr. Strange is looking to be a really serious look at a lot of Marvel Universe weirdness, and not just a quick cash-in on a minor character. If you’re a regular kind of guy, then you can just feel reassured that you’re getting a smart movie. If you’re a geek, then join us in starting at this picture through the holidays…

Famously spazzy rock singer Joe Cocker has passed away at the age of 70, which is a goo time for remembering Joe Cocker as a guy who was a lot more than rock’s most legendary spazz. His bizarre onstage antics made him both a joke and a rock star at the end of the ’60s, as he topped the charts with a cover of The Beatles’ “With A Little Help from My Friends” in 1968.  [photo: Central Press/Getty]

A year later, he showed up at Woodstock and was immortalized in a concert film that showcased Cocker’s very unique style. That would later be famously spoofed by John Belushi–first in a National Lampoon stage show, followed by Belushi playing Cocker as a character on Saturday Night Live.

Cocker would later show up as a musical guest on SNL as probably the first guy to ever face his SNL spoof on stage. Cocker kept busy through the ’70s, and then regained some rock stardom when he duetted with Jennifer Warnes for the sappy love them to 1982’s An Officer and a Gentleman.

“Up Where We Belong” would go on to win a Grammy and an Academy Award. Cocker would go on to a great career where he never really had to worry about his voice getting old and creaky. He’d already been young and creaky, and kind of amazing.
