Rolene Strauss Is Miss World 2014 — Which Makes for a Good 2015 [PHOTOS]

Rolene Strauss

Rolene Strauss is Miss World 2014, which means that we’ll be enjoying her through 2015–until she crowns Miss World 2015 right before 2016 starts. And we know that Miss World isn’t as big a deal as Miss Universe, but we’re pretty sure that Rolene Strauss is pretty excited.  [photo via…]

We’re excited over the 22-year-old Miss South Africa, too. It was good to see the Miss World competition finally wrap up after a lot of months spend under the shadow of the death of Miss Honduras and her sister. One of the new Miss World’s duties will include visiting the site of a school that will be built to honor Maria Jose Alvarado and her sister, Sofía Trinidad Alvarado Muñoz.

Miss United States didn’t do bad, either. Elizabeth Safrit came in third amongst the competition from 121 countries. Rolene is the first Miss South Africa to win the title in 40 years, so that’s a big deal, too–although it’s no surprise that the country with the most Miss Worlds is Venezuela. We’ve saluted lots of beauties from there. Now let’s salute Rolene Strauss, who’s sure ending (or starting) her year on a high note…

WATCH: Bengals’ Jeremy Hill Denied Trip To Cleveland’s Dawg Pound [VIDEO]

Jeremy Hill Dawg Pound

The Cincinnati Bengals were looking for some revenge on Sunday when they traveled to Cleveland to face the Browns and Johnny Manziel after losing to the Browns at home a few weeks ago. Cincinnati got their revenge with a 30-0 smashing of Manziel and company. However, there was one incident that is getting more attention than the final score. Cincinnati running back Jeremy Hill scored two touchdowns and mocked Cleveland both times. He mimicked LeBron James after the first score and attempted to jump into Cleveland’s “Dawg Pound” after the second score.

Hill however found resistance from a Cleveland fan who pushed Hill back down as he tried his jump. It was the only fight that was in the Browns and their fans on Sunday afternoon. The two in-state rivals will always have a fierce rivalry but for Hill to try this act was over the line. He should have known better than to be doing that. Thankfully the Browns fan saw what was about to happen and stopped it in its tracks. Maybe Cleveland can avoid seeing that happen again next season…

WATCH: ‘Star Wars’ Stormtroopers Stranded On Road — Get No Help, Damnit [VIDEO]

Star Wars Dashcam Crashed TIE Fighter

So this guy drove right past some Star Wars Stormtroopers stranded by the road in a busted TIE fighter and didn’t even stop to help–which originally got us all upset, because we were thinking this was going to be some lucky motorist who stumbled upon a film shoot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You know that we’d pull over to get some quick video of that.

Instead, it turns out that this is just a fun gag from some people showing off their special effects skills. That’s a reasonable assumption, at least. There’s a Lucasfilm trademark at the bottom, so this might even be an official gag. In any case, it’s the best dashcam footage that you’ll see today, unless something really amazing comes out of Russia…

Yes, This “Oops I Peed Myself When I Met Santa” Moment Happened [PIC DUMP]

Yes This Happened: Judging from the wet spot on lefty’s lap, this kid could not be happier to meet Santa Claus. Hopefully this photo keeps him honest as he grows up and inevitably goes to a d-bag college where bow ties are acceptable.

One-Legged Brooklyn Nets Fan Dead After Jumping Out Of Window

Jeffrey Vanchiro nets fan

Jeffrey Vanchiro, The one-legged Brooklyn Nets fan who was forcibly ejected from the Nets Knicks game a few weeks ago (video below) is now dead after he allegedly jumped out of a second-floor window in an attempt to kill himself.

Admittedly, we couldn’t help ourselves from laughing when we first saw the video. But apparently the episode left some lasting impressions on Jeffrey and he started to lose his grip on reality.

“He was frightened. He was horrified. He was a bit delusional. He was having a lot of trouble sleeping. He couldn’t sleep at all. When he would sleep, or try to sleep, it would only take about 10 or 15 minutes before he would jump up screaming covered in sweat.” [source]

State Of Lakers Team Apparent In This Awful Plane Party For Kobe Bryant

kobe plane celebration

You’ve probably heard by now that Kobe Bryant has officially scored more points than Michael Jordan–even though Jordan did it in less time and without nearly as many three-pointers made. Whatever, that’s a big deal for the Los Angeles Lakers, who would literally love you to do anything other than acknowledge how miserable their team is right now.

Just look at this sad state of affairs. This is the plane that Kobe Bryant walked onto after achieving that milestone.

This is the kind of celebration a five-year-old son of a billionaire would get. Totally half-assed. No cigars, no strippers. Just some ribbon hanging and a “Congratulations, Kobe” song from the captain.

I’ve never met Kobe Bryant, but the look on his face in the video above screams “kill me.”

5 Christmas Movie Sequels That Went Straight to Cable [VIDEOS]

Direct to Video Christmas Movie Sequels

There were some reports last year about a planned  big-screen sequel to the Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life. Then there was a lot of expected outrage, and the project went the way of Mr. Potter’s plans for Bedford Falls. That isn’t always the case, though. Plenty of Yuletide movies have gotten big-budget sequels, including Home Alone, The Santa Clause, and, yes, Die Hard.

Don’t forget that National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a sequel, too. But some other Christmas sequels have sneaked into holiday rotation by going direct-t0-home video. That’s just the first step to ending up getting constantly slotted into cheap slots on cable television.

That’s like Santa sneaking up from the basement instead of coming down the chimney, and then just hanging around after he runs out of presents. On the other hand, these misfit sequels can be pretty amazing to watch when a holiday stupor (or Christmas depression) has you too worn out to change the channel. In that spirit, watch out for these 5 questionably cheerful sequels to classic Christmas movies…

Jingle All the Way 2 (2014)

The original Jingle All the Way (1996) pits Arnold Schwarzenegger against funnyman Sinbad in a slapstick quest to obtain the last Powerman doll before Christmas. The recently released Jingle All the Way 2 showcases Larry the Cable Guy in a similar pickle over a talking Harrison the Bear toy. Pro wrestler Santino Marella co-stars in this (you guessed it!) WWE Studios co-production.

A Christmas Story 2 (2012)

This one has taken over the daytime programming of the Country Music Television network, and that’s a damn shame. A Christmas Story 2 hit Red Box rental stations and video on demand a couple of years back. Ralphie is now sixteen and hopped up to acquire a 1939 Mercury convertible for Christmas. As expected, that doesn’t pack quite the charm of ten-year-old Ralphie’s original campaign for a Red Ryder BB gun.

Home Alone 5: The Holiday Heist (2012)

The first two Home Alone movies, of course, were holiday blockbusters starring Macauley Culkin. A third installment with some other kid dribbled into theaters in 1997. ABC debuted Home Alone 4 in 2002 and, then, a decade later, a non-eager world got Home Alone 5: The Holiday Heist. Of note is that HA5’s criminal cabal is led by Malcolm McDowell, best known for mounting some very different home invasions in A Clockwork Orange.

Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie’s Island Vacation (2003)

Randy Quaid and Miriam Flynn return as redneck relatives Cousin Eddie and Cousin Catherine in this made-for-NBC piffle. Weirdly, Dana Baron, who played young Audrey Griswold in the original Vacation also comes back. Along with Ed Asner as Uncle Nick, that whole gang gets shipped off to a tropical island for Christmas. That’s pretty much it. The end. Well, a monkey might also be involved.

Prancer Returns (2001)

The existence of the 1989 movie Prancer is odd enough. The demand for a sequel adventure for Santa’s runaway reindeer a dozen years later is baffling. Yet here it is. Michael O’Keefe (Danny Noonan in Caddyshack) co-stars as an evil school principal who wants Prancer euthanized. Merry Christmas!

I don’t want to play armchair quarterback too much here because these bros definitely know what they’re doing, but if I was editing this video I need less “300” and more little person elf.

Strippers Hot Photos Posing With Money

Want to have some second thoughts about the importance of a college education? Consider the cash flow of your average stripper. Actually, we’d prefer to study the cash flow of an extraordinary stripper, but that’s only because we’re so impressed with these pics of regular exotic dancers hauling in the Benjamins.

We know there are a lot of Georges and Abes in the mix, too, but that doesn’t make these plentiful pics any less impressive. These ladies really don’t seem to be at the very top of the stripper spectrum. That doesn’t stop them from being able to post plenty of hot shots where they show off their haul.

Now we’re thinking that we could do pretty well on the male stripper circuit. Let’s say the top guys make about $5,000 a night. The COED staff should be good for at least a cool fifty bucks. We’re going to think about that. We’ll understand if you’d rather not. Instead, enjoy this tribute to capitalism, and then check out some of our other favorite strippers from the past year–including the gal who tried to pole dance her way out of having her car towed, and the strippers who livened up the Pussy Lounge at this year’s Tomorrowland…

Avengers Age of Ultron Ultron Model i

Technically, this isn’t a scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron–but it’s sure a recreation of what we have to guess is a major scene from the movie. We don’t think there’s anything that counts as a spoiler, though. You have to figure that Ultron is going to get destroyed a few times before the evil robot is finished with the Avengers. We just know that the fine folks at Hot Toys have included this collectible figure as part of the Avengers toys previewed on their site. They make really accurate models, so you can figure this is more like an Age of Ultron teaser image.

Also, it looks like Ultron ends up looking this awful at the hands of Iron Man. That’s because this buried Ultron figure is actually buried amongst a bunch of different Iron Man figures that are also newly featured on the Hot Toys site.

Anyway, it’s all a lot more interesting than the multiple images of Iron Man that Hot Toys is also offering. There are a few new variations here, and none of the are the Hulkbuster from the Age of Ultron trailer. There’s not much fun in that–but you’re sure welcome to check out the Hot Toys site if you need to see a lot more variations on the Iron Man armor. Personally, we couldn’t tell the difference between all the ones in Iron Man 3….

Don’t Believe That Story About the NYC High School Kid Who Made $72 Million Trading Stocks

Mohammed Islam High School $72 million

Mohammed Islam is the high-school kid who–as reported by New York magazine–made $72 million trading stocks on his lunch break. Except now it seems that Mohammed Islam did not make that much money. In fact, New York magazine is starting to do some serious backpedaling now that the story has gone national.

Mohammed originally made it into New York magazine as part of the “Reasons to Love New York” issue, as profiled by reported Jessica Pressler. To her credit, Pressler began the article by saying that the $72 million was just a rumor. That didn’t stop the New York editors from pushing the dollar figure. Check out how the New York online posting looks now: “Because a Stuyvesant Senior Made Millions Picking Stocks. His Hedge Fund Opens as Soon As He Turns 18.”

Now look to the right to see the original headline that they can’t scrape: “Because a Stuyvesant Senior Made $72 Million Trading Stocks on His Lunch Break.” Whoops.

We’re not saying that we wouldn’t invest with Mohammed Islam. The guy seems to be seriously talented, but that $72 million figure is up for some serious scrutiny. [UPDATE: Mohammed officially goes on the record about conning the gullible New York staff. Even that revised headline is a lie.] And don’t let Pressler off the hook too easily. She’s already blaming her editors, but she sent out the Tweet below to push the article. It’s like you can’t believe anything you read nowadays…
