Let’s Take A Moment To Appreciate UFC Fighter Rachael Ostovich

0
0

Rachael Ostovich is one of the promising stars in the UFC. The flyweight contender has been competing in professional mixed martial arts since 2014 and has competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Invicta Fighting Championship.

Ostovich, who hails from Hawaii, was one of the contestants on season 26 of the long-running reality television show The Ultimate Fighter.

Ostovich was in the headlines on November 18, 2018, when she was assaulted by her husband which left her with a broken orbital bone. There were reports that the assault, which was carried out by fellow MMA fighter Arnold Berdon, resulted in second-degree felony assault charges. Berdon reportedly threatened to kill Ostovich during the assault.

There was speculation that the attack would force her out of her UFC on ESPN+1 bout against Paige VanZant in Brooklyn, New York, but she ultimately decided to continue with the bout.

“She never really wanted to be off of this fight,” her manager Brian Butler-Au said, via ESPN.com. “When everything happened, it was very emotional. The injuries were significant enough that, combined with the emotions of everything that was going down, we made a decision to pull out of the fight.

Ashleigh Murray Returns To TV Tonight On ‘Riverdale’

0

Ashleigh Murray, born on January 18, 1988, in Kansas City, Missouri, is an American actress and singer who is perhaps best known for portraying Josie McCoy on The CW teenage drama television series Riverdale.

After making her acting debut as Harmony in the 2007 short film Finding Harmony, Murray went on to appear in various film and television projects such as Welcome to New York, Grind, Deidra & Laney Rob a Train, The Following, and Younger, before getting her big break when she was cast as Josie McCoy in The CW series Riverdale. Despite being 30-years-old, Murray portrays a teenager on Riverdale.

In 2017, it was announced that Murray would be appearing in the remake of the 1983 romantic comedy Valley Girl.

In April 2018, Murray spoke in-depth with Elle about her life and career.

via Elle:

Ashleigh Murray is too old for your bullshit, but not too old to play 16-year-old Josie McCoy on Riverdale. On the CW’s hit reimagining of the Archie Comics, Murray portrays a local celebrity diva, unafraid to throw a few punches at a would-be rapist or undercut her adversary’s political career. There’s a worldliness to Josie McCoy, but also an inherent softness, and her journey in the second season has not been an easy one: She’s been alienated from her Pussycats, stalked by her best friend, and caught between the affections of Riverdale’s two most problematic hunks.

Murray’s career, however, has never been better. On Twitter, the 30-year-old actress revealed that she was buying groceries with a food stamp card before getting the casting call that would change her life. Now she’s preparing to take her first ever international trip—to Brussels, for Archie Con.

You can follow Ashleigh Murray on Instagram, where she currently has over 1 million followers.

Kiko Mizuhara, born Audrie Kiko Daniel on October 15, 1990, in Dallas Texas, is a Japanese-American model, actress, singer, and designer.

After being born in Dallas, Mizuhara moved to Tokyo, Japan, with her family when she was just two-years-old. In the year 2002, Mizuhara began modeling when she participated in and won a contest for fashion magazine Seventeen.

After moving out on her own when she was 16-years-old to pursue her modeling career, Mizuhara became a model for fashion magazine ViVi in 2007.

In January 2019, rumors began that Mizuhara was dating former One Direction member Harry Styles, however, she squashed those rumors by saying she’s never even met the “Sign of the Times” singer and “Dunkirk” actor. Mizuhara took to Twitter to set facts straight about her and Harry Styles:

“There is a report that Harry Styles and I have been in a relationship but I have no relationship with him, and I have never met him,” she wrote on Twitter in Japanese. “The world is full of fake news. People believe what they want to believe rather than questioning reality,” Mizuhara added.

During her career, Mizuhara has modeled for brands such as Vogue, Nylon, Numero, Vivi, Seventeen, Grazia, GQ, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, MAQUIA, GISELe, V Magazine, Another Magazine, Dazed and Confused, Cosmopolitan, Dedicate Magazine, and Jalouse Magazine.

“Space Force” has become a bit of a punchline during the Donald Trump presidency, with Mr. 45 promising to add a military branch that will defend the moon. Now, we will have a movie based on the hilarious idea thanks to none other than Steve Carell, who will be starring in the film.

On Wednesday, January 16, Netflix announced that the film was set to begin production.

The series about the proposed sixth branch of the military doesn’t have a proposed episode count, but it does promise a star-studded cast, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“On June 18, 2018, the federal government announced the creation of a 6th major division of the Unites States Armed Forces. The goal of the new branch is ‘to defend satellites from attack’ and ‘reform other space-related tasks’… or something. This is the story of the men and women who have to figure it out,” a statement surrounding the release read.

Check out the promo video below.

From the guys that brought you The Office. Welcome to Space Force.

With The Office ringing in such good numbers for the streaming service, Netflix didn’t allow the “Space Force” project to be shopped to any other networks. Instead, it will exclusively stream on Netflix with its impressive cast led by Steve Carell.

There is no word on which other actors or actresses will be joining the cast.

[Intro]

16 lines-
Of blow and I’m fine
You’re wastin’ your time, wastin’ your time
Please don’t cry

[Chorus]

16 lines of blow and I’m fine
Break my bones, but act as my spine
I wonder who you’ll f*ck when I die
And if I tried to call, would you cry?
Please don’t cry, you’re wastin’ your time
16 lines will make me feel fine
10 years ago I went blind
I been on my own since age nine

Break my bones, but act as my spine
I wonder who you’ll f*ck when I die
And if I tried to call, would you cry?
Please don’t cry, you’re wastin’ your time

Can anybody hear me? (Can anybody hear me?)
I hate it when you fake care (I hate it when you fake care)
Girl, I know you hear me (Girl, I know you hear me)
Is anybody out there? (Is anybody out there?)
Can anybody hear me? (Can anybody hear me?)
I hate it when you fake care (Fake care)
Girl, I know you hear me (Hear me)

Cardi B Doing Her Best To Break The Internet with The Music Video For ‘Twerk’

0

Despite the fact that she’s been famous for a couple of years now, I still have yet to decide whether I am wildly attracted to or frightened of Cardi B. Either way, both of those feelings are confirmed in the music video for her latest song ‘Twerk’, which features her and about 100 other women twerking in various locations.

Oh, America, you’re a real shitshow these days… but sometimes you can remind us what makes you so beautiful.

However, despite having all of the Cardi B trademarks, “Twerk” is actually a City Girls track, which is the duo of “Yung Miami” and “JT”:

Yung Miami and JT – together known as City Girls — release the highly-anticipated video for “Twerk (feat. Cardi B).” In it, City Girls own the dance for themselves, rallying their troupe of women to get cheeks flying and take control of their own sexuality. Yung Miami – painted as a zebra – and featured artist Cardi B – painted as a tiger – lead a group of agile ladies on yacht, on a beach, on a pole, even on a muscle car without a man in sight.

Kansas Teacher Arrested For Allegedly Sleeping With Student

Rachel Wrobel, a 25-year-old English teacher at Liberal High School in Kansas, has resigned from her position after she was arrested and charged for allegedly sleeping with an underage student.

According to police, Wrobel was arrested on Sunday, January 13, after Liberal Police Department investigators determined an incident occurred between Wrobel and an unidentified teen on Saturday, January 12.

The Liberal Police Department launched an investigation into Wrobel after Liberal High School administrators asked the Liberal Police Department to investigate allegations that Wrobel had sexual relations with an unidentified 18-year-old student.

Police say that the alleged incident occurred on Saturday, January 12, in the 1200 block of West 10th Street in Liberal.

Following her arrest, Wrobel was charged with unlawful sexual relations in Seward County District Court on Tuesday, January 15. Her bond was set at $50,000.

As for why there has been such a significant increase in instances of teachers having inappropriate relationships with students, researchers believe that technology is to blame.

According to a report from the Texas Education Association, smartphones make easy for teachers to privately text and talk with students and also make it possible for teachers and students to share explicit images.

SESAME (Stop Educator Sexual Abuse Misconduct & Exploitation) President Terri Miller echoed that sentiment, stating “before cell phones, we knew who our kids were talking to” but today, “kids have their own phones, they’re taking them to bed, and parents need to watch more.”

Hoffman has been one of many teachers to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, teachers across the United States have been charged, tried, and convicted of various abuse and sex crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

Most recently, teachers such as 29-year-old Haylie Smart, 25-year-old Alaina Ferguson, 26-year-old Amy Nowaczyk, and 32-year-old Laura Bucy were arrested and charged for similar crimes.

TCU Student Given 6 Months For Getting Drunk & Assaulting Flight Attendant

Jeffery Libby, a 21-year-old Texas Christian University student from Dallas, caused the diversion of a transatlantic flight after he allegedly drank a liter of Bacardi before assaulting airline staff and fellow passengers.

As a result, Libby was charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of drunkenness on an aircraft and was sentenced to six months in prison.

According to reports, while on a December 17 British Airways flight from London Heathrow Airport to Dallas, Libby — a 21-year-old journalism major at TCU — allegedly spit at people, assaulted a flight attendant, and bit the hand of a fellow passenger.

The incident forced the pilot of the flight to divert back to Heathrow Airport, costing British Airways “hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

via Daily Mail:

The trouble began when Libby began to punch and kick the seat of a passenger in front of him, which he believed was being moved backwards into him. Members of the aircrew then came to Libby to ask him to calm down and his drunken behavior was caught on camera by shocked passengers.

Libby began to spit and bite at crew members and passengers as they attempted to restrain him. One passenger, Stephen Mumford, attempted to restrain Libby by holding the Texan’s head. One of his fingers slid into Libby’s mouth and the journalism student bit him.

Libby, a student at Texas Christian University, then squeezed the arm of Samantha Jackson, a BA air hostess, as she attempted to restrain him with Mr Mumford. The pilot made the decision to turn the plane back to London with eight hours of journey time to Dallas left.

While in court, Michael Wolkind, an attorney for Libby, said that his client had recently been dumped by his girlfriend at the time of the incident.

Libby will serve his six-months at Isleworth Crown Court.

Brittany Noble, a journalist and news anchor from Mississippi, is filing a lawsuit against her former employer. Noble is claiming racial discrimination after she claims one of the reasons she was fired was due to her “natural hair.”

Noble discussed the entire situation in a post on Medium.

“After having my son, I asked my news director if I could stop straightening my hair,” she wrote in the blog. “A month after giving me the green light I was pulled back into his office. I was told ‘My natural hair is unprofessional and the equivalent to him throwing on a baseball cap to go to the grocery store.’ He said, ‘Mississippi viewers needed to see a beauty queen.’

“When I asked him how I should address the change on social media he told me to write ‘I was told to change my hair back to the way it was because that’s what looks best.’”

She has previously filed complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Noble was reportedly fired in May 2018, but her case is currently on hold because of the government shutdown, according to reports. The 32-year-old initially filed her complaint in April 2018.
