Boone County Sheriff’s Department

Amy Nicole Parrino, a 43-year-old Missouri woman, has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse and domestic assault after she allegedly beat and sexually assaulted her unidentified boyfriend.

According to an arrest report obtained by The Smoking Gun, Parrino — of Boone County, Missouri — struck her unnamed boyfriend ‘approximately 20-25 times with an open and closed fist.’ Additionally, Parrino allegedly attacked the man with a belt, brass plate, and cell phone.

Furthermore, in addition to the attacks, Parrino “chased him around the home in the nude” before she pushed him on the ground, straddled his face, and demanded that he “eat her p****”.

Following the sexual assault, Parrino was booked into Boone County Jail on Monday, December 3. Her bail was set to $25,000 cash, with $5,000 of the bail money going towards property damage that she caused at the jail.

The arrest report states that the male victim — who remains unidentified — told authorities that he was “was unable to breathe during the sexual assault” and was “scared to death.”

Additionally, the man stated that he “felt sick to his stomach” and asked Parrino to leave him alone repeatedly.

When responding officers arrived, they observed large cut on the victim’s nose, left and right arms, in addition to finding red marks on his chest.

The unidentified victim said that going forward, he does “not feel safe living with his Parrino” as she can turn “very violent, very quickly.”

Annabelle Yao, 20, is the half-sister of 46-year-old Meng Wanzhou, the
CFO of Huawei and the daughter of Ren Zhengfei, a 74-year-old Chinese business heavyweight. Wanzhou was arrested on Saturday, December 1, in Canada and faces extradition to the United States.

Wanzhou is the Vice Chairman of Huawei, the company founded by her father that is currently China’s largest smartphone and telecommunications equipment maker and the world’s second largest smartphone seller.

Huawei is an infamously shady company, as it is not traded on the stock exchange and its executives largely remain media silent.

Wanzhou’s arrest comes after a United States-led probe into the company’s alleged violations of Iran sanctions. She had her bail hearing on Friday, December 7, in Canada. However, Huawei and Chinese officials remain adamant that Meng has not violated any laws and should be released from custody.

At this time, it is not clear what she is being charged with.

The Chinese Embassy in Canada released the following statement in response to Wanzhou’s arrest:

“At the request of the U.S. side, the Canadian side arrested a Chinese citizen not violating any American or Canadian law. The Chinese side firmly opposes and strongly protests over such kind of actions which seriously harmed the human rights of the victim. Beijing has lodged stern representations with the U.S. and Canadian side, and urged them to immediately correct the wrongdoing and restore the personal freedom of Ms. Meng Wanzhou.”

As for Yao, she is a ballerina that attends Harvard University and is set to graduate in 2020.

Mac Miller has been posthumously nominated for a Grammy Award, as his final album Swimming has been nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy’s.

In addition to Miller’s Swimming, Cardi B’s Invasion Of Privacy, Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap, Pusha-T’s Daytona, and Travis Scott’s Astroworld were also nominated for Best Rap Album.

If the Grammy Awards know what they’re doing, Miller should be a shoo-in for the award. Does it have to do with the fact that he was a remarkably talented and kind young man that tragically passed away too soon? Of course — we’d be lying to ourselves if we ignored that factor.

But regardless, that doesn’t matter, because Swimming was the best rap album of the year. A complete thought from beginning to end, Swimming saw Miller not only mature lyrically and sonically, but as a human being, as Swimming was as from the heart as a piece of art could get.

Best of all, it’s difficult to call Swimming a “rap” album as it is as influenced by funk and soul as it is rap.

It seems, after five studios albums that improved each and every time, that Miller was finally beginning to scratch the surface of his peak.

Hopefully, The Recording Academy gives Swimming the award, allowing Miller to have one final night in the spotlight where everyone is able to recognize him for the outstanding talent that he was.

A fraternity at the University of Tennessee has been placed on interim suspension as university officials investigate claims made by two women that they were drugged at the fraternity.

According to a report from The Knoxville News Sentinel, two separate female students reported they were “drugged and assaulted by a known acquaintance” at a fraternity party on Thursday, November 29.

The following morning, on Friday, November 30, the two women reported the alleged incident to the University of Tennessee campus security authorities.

Vincent Carilli, the Vice Chancellor of Student Life at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, said that the fraternity was placed on interim suspension on Saturday, December 1.

Vice Chancellor Carilli refused to name the fraternity under investigation, stating that “in order to protect the integrity of the investigation”, the university “cannot discuss specifics.”

The unnamed fraternity that was suspended on December 1 is the second UT-Knoxville fraternity to be investigated this semester after Alpha Tau Omega was investigated for participating in a scavenger hunt that reportedly targeted Asian students.

The investigation is the latest major Greek life suspension, expulsion, disaffiliation, or overhaul in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State, and Penn State have all suspended fraternities for various reasons.

Fraternities have been suspended or expelled across the nation as Greek life organizations and universities attempt to grapple with the pitfalls of hazing, alcohol and drug abuse, and sexual assault.

Schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State, and Penn State have all suspended or expelled fraternities for various reasons.

Texas County Sheriff’s Department

Melissa Abla, a 37-year-middle school teacher in Kansas, has been arrested for allegedly trafficking meth. Abla was a teacher at Seymour Rogers Middle School in Liberal, Oklahoma.

According to reports, Abla and another man — 49-year-old Everett Tomlinson — were arrested on Tuesday, November 20, after authorities executed a search warrant of their Tyrone, Oklahoma home.

Both Abla and Tomlinson have since been charged with six crimes: aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine within 2,000 feet of a school or park, conspiracy to commit aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine within 2,000 feet of a school or park, possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a tax stamp, maintaining place for keeping / selling a controlled substance, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Upon searching her residence, police found over 1065 grams of methamphetamine. She was taken into police custody and her bond was set at $250,000.

Additionally, court records indicate that when officers entered the home, they noticed Tomlinson’s apparent concern about the situation and stated to him that it appeared they had “picked a good day”, to which Tomlinson allegedly replied, “Sir, any day would probably be a good day for you to be here.”

Upon entering the home, an agent located two loaded handguns, a Glock model 19 9mm pistol and a Hy Hunter 25 caliber pistol, on the couch where Tomlinson had been seated. Tomlinson was advised of his rights and agreed to speak to agents.

Agents found a Crown Royal bag and other smaller bags of methamphetamine, weighing in at approximated 990.7 grams. Agents were directed to two more firearms in a safe inside the residence; a Bryco Arms 9mm pistol and a Markov 9mm pistol. A “one size fits most” style pistol holder was also located, indicating that one or more of the firearms had been or could have been carried on someone’s person.

A search of the remainder of the residence yield another 12.64 grams of methamphetamine in one area, and another 63 grams in another Crown Royal bag on the couch, along with two sets of digital scales and a large number of new, unused small plastic bags.

At this time, it is not clear where Abla or Tomlinson are being held, if at all.

Heather Nauert — born on January 27, 1970, in Rockford, Illinois — is an American journalist, government employee, and diplomat, who previously was a Fox News commentator and a Spokesperson for the United States Department of State since April 24, 2017.

On Friday, December 7, 2018, President Trump announced that Nauret would be the United States newest ambassador to the United Nations. She will be succeeding Nikki Haley, the United States’ 29th ambassador to the United Nations who was previously the 116th Governor of South Carolina and is a former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives.

According to President Trump, Nauret is “very talented, very smart, very quick” and is “going to be respected by all.” Additionally, he believes that Nauret did a “great job” at the State Department.

Prior to joining the State Department in 2017, Nauret worked for Fox News from 1998 to 2008 as an anchor and correspondent before joining ABC. However, she returned to Fox in 2007, becoming a presenter for their program Fox & Friends.

During her time working for the government, not only did Nauret work for the State Department, as she was also appointed acting undersecretary for public diplomacy and public affairs in March of 2018.

However, despite the accolades she received from President Trump, Nauret’s appointment still needs to be approved by the United States Senate.

In addition to the announcement of Nauret as United Nations Ambassador, President Trump also nominated William Barr as the new United States Attorney General.

Back in November, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Danny Amendola was dumped by his Sports Illustrated swimsuit model girlfriend Olivia Culpo because he was caught getting cozy with another stunning brunette in Miami while Culpo was away for a shoot.

Police in Pittsburg, Kansas executed a search warrant to investigate the suspected distribution of illegal drugs out of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Pittsburg State University on Thursday, December 6. The fraternity house that was searched is located at 1714 S. Broadway Street in Pittsburg, Kansas.

According to the City of Pittsburg police department, authorities executed a search warrant of Sigma Chi on 9:10 a.m. on Thursday, December 6th, 2018, in cooperation with officers from the Pittsburg State University police. During the search, police reportedly discovered marijuana, amphetamines, and related drug paraphernalia.

After the execution of the search warrant, 19-year-old Kaleb M. Higginbotham was arrested without incident. Higginbotham is now facing charges of felony distribution of marijuana, felony possession of narcotics, felony possession of paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor of drug paraphernalia.

Following his arrest, Higginbotham was taken to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office jail where he was being on a $7,500 bond.

Jason Kegler, Assistant Vice President of PSU Student Life, says the University is prepared to take appropriate action once facts are known. “Administrators will review the circumstances once details are made available,” he said. “According to our conduct code, we’ll hold students and/or student organizations accountable if it can be ascertained that their behaviors have had a detrimental impact on the university’s educational mission.”

According to KOAM, Jason Kegler, the Assistant Vice President of PSU Student Life, said that Pittsburg State University is prepared to “take appropriate action once facts are known.”

“Administrators will review the circumstances once details are made available. According to our conduct code, we’ll hold students and/or student organizations accountable if it can be ascertained that their behaviors have had a detrimental impact on the university’s educational mission, Kegler said.

The only bad part about making meals, they will continuously ask for you to cook more often.

Ramsey Bearse, a 28-year-old former Miss America contestant and Miss Kentucky 2014, was arrested on Friday, December 7 in West Virginia after police say she allegedly sent nude photos to a 15-year-old teenage student.

According to the criminal complaint, Bearse — a science teacher at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Cross Lanes, West Virginia — sent illicit photos to a 15-year-old male teenage student through Snapchat.

Authorities were made aware of the allegations after a parent of the unidentified victim found pictures of Bearse on the teen’s cell phone. Bearse reportedly admitted to sending the photos.

As a result, Bearse has been charged with four felony counts of distributing or displaying obscene matter to a minor.

While Briana Warner, the Kanawha County Schools Communications Director, declined to comment on Bearse’s arrest, she confirmed that Bearse was previously a teacher at the school.

“We cannot comment on personnel matters, but we will follow all applicable policies and procedures. The safety and security of our students is our top priority,” Warner said in a statement.

Following her arrest, Bearse was suspended from her position at Andrew Jackson Middle School. She was released on a $10,000 property bond following her arraignment.

As for why there has been such a significant increase in instances of teachers having sexual relationships with students, researchers believe that technology is to blame.

According to a report from the Texas Education Association, smartphones make easy for teachers to privately text and talk with students and also make it possible for teachers and students to share explicit images.

SESAME (Stop Educator Sexual Abuse Misconduct & Exploitation) President Terri Miller echoed that sentiment, stating “before cell phones, we knew who our kids were talking to” but today, “kids have their own phones, they’re taking them to bed, and parents need to watch more.”

Stanley has been one of many teachers to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, teachers across the United States have been charged, tried, and convicted of various abuse and sex crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

Most recently, teachers such as 29-year-old Haylie Smart, 25-year-old Alaina Ferguson, 26-year-old Amy Nowaczyk, and 32-year-old Laura Bucy were arrested and charged for similar crimes.

The Heisman Trophy Award Ceremony will be held live today in New York City to honor the best player in college football. The three nominees are University of Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, University of Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray, and Ohio State University quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

Last year’s winner was Univesity of Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, and the year before that the prestigious award was given to Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson. Both Mayfield and Jackson are currently starting quarterbacks in the National Football League, so winning the award certainly bodes well for the future of the recipient.

While OSU’s Dwayne Haskins is not considered to be a legitimate threat for the award, Tagovailoa and Murray are both worthy candidates, as either of the two exciting young players could win.

The 2018 Heisman Trophy also marks the first time that three African-American quarterbacks make up the nominees.

It’s Monday, December 9, so the time has come once again to take a look around the college world and appreciate some of the standout students and rising social media influencers at various colleges in the country for the COED Girl of the Day which features a college student that stands out among their peers. Today, we feature Stine Cardone, a student at Penn State University.

Stine, who is a Buffalo native, is set to graduate as part of the Nittany Lions’ Class of 2020.

Aldo Amenta, a student at Florida International University, served as an inspiration to an entire crowd of witnesses taking in his graduation over the weekend. Amenta, who is bound to a wheelchair after suffering a severe spinal injury in a swimming pool accident and was declared a quadriplegic by doctors, managed to walk across the stage to receive his diploma.

Amenta made his walk with the help of a special-made exoskeleton.

Amenta graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, according to a report from WPLG. His walk in the exoskeleton required hours of practice, the report added.

“It was an amazing experience,” Amenta said after making his inspirational walk. “For me it was a milestone to accomplish. Being able to cross the stage walking is something that’s really meaningful.”

After his accident, Amenta briefly considered dropping out of school, but he received a scholarship to continue his studies and treatment. Now that he has his bachelor’s degree, he hopes to continue his studies while pursuing a masters degree at FIU.

“At FIU, we take pride in the accomplishments of our students and their determination to succeed,” said FIU President Mark Rosenberg in a statement.

It is a moment that Amenta will never forget.

“It was an amazing experience,’ Amenta said, via the Daily Mail. “For me it was a milestone to accomplish. Being able to cross the stage walking is something that’s really meaningful.

“It doesn’t matter how hard you think things are going to be. Maybe you feel that it is impossible for you to make it, but you’ll find people that are willing to help you…that motivated me. That gave me the strength to be able to continue to push myself through and stay positive.”

Congratulations to Amenta for his incredible accomplishment and best of luck in his continued studies.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be starting off its 2019 calendar year hot, with one of the most anticipated events of the first quarter being UFC 234. The pay-per-view event will be headlined by a middleweight championship bout between current titleholder Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum. Both men previously won their respective seasons of The Ultimate Fighter reality series with Whittaker taking the TUF: Smashes welterweight crown and Gastelum winning the middleweight tournament on TUF: Team Jones vs. Team Sonnen.

Whittaker and Gastelum also faced off as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 28 — also known as The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters — which featured the women’s featherweight and heavyweight divisions. The season concluded on November 30 with Juan Espino Dieppa winning the heavyweight tournament and Macy Chiasson upending Pannie Kianzad at women’s featherweight.

In the co-main event of the bout, it was also announced that an up-and-coming superstar will be going toe-to-toe when the always exciting Israel Adesanya enters the cage against for UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Rapper Ty Dolla Sign had a great year on the charts, but an unfortunate incident dating back to September has left him with some very serious charges. This weekend, it was announced that the hip-hop star has been indicted by a grand jury on charges that include felony drug possession.

Ty Dolla Sign was previously arrested in Fulton County, Georgia back in September for drug possession. TMZ also reported that Skrillex was in the vehicle with Ty Dolla Sign and his crew, but Ty Dolla Sign was the only person to be arrested after the drugs were found in his bag.

He now faces three counts of drug possession charges including felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of THC and misdemeanor possession of less than 1 ounce of weed, according to TMZ.

If convicted of the charges, Ty Dolla Sign would be locked up for more than a decade with a maximum penalty of up to 15 years in prison.

Ty Dolla Sign, born Tyrone William Griffin Jr. on April 13, 1985 in Los Angeles California, is a singer, songwriter, rapper and producer who has worked with a number of top artists. He has been associated with acts like Kanye West, Trey Songs, Wiz Khalifa, Future, B.o.B., Jeremih, YG, DJ Mustard, and many more.

Throughout the 2018 calendar year, Ty Dolla Sign had his music streamed more than a whopping one billion times on Spotify by more than 72 million fans in 65 countries.

In 2018, he released a collaborative album with Jeremih titled “MihTy,” and was featured on the Fifth Harmony hit song “Work From Home” which won an MTV Video Music Award for best collaboration and an American Music Award for Collaboration of the Year.

Now, he will have to wait and see whether his recording career will be placed on hold while he sits behind bars.
