“Divest, Disarm, Decolonise.”

Those were the compelling words that echoed through the streets of Cambridge, England, from angry students who congregated in retaliation to Cambridge University and its constituent colleges’ investments towards fossil fuels and arms companies. Students are angry after Cambridge University went on with its decision to continue the fundings despite students and public objections.

What Happened?

In a joint effort, student activist groups such as Cambridge Decolonisation Network, Demilitarise Cambridge, Cambridge University Palestine Society, Cambridge Zero Carbon Society, and Cambridge Defend Education amassed a crowd of 270 at the Senate House on November 16, 2018, to protest the 800 years old institution’s decision to continue funding fossil fuel and arms companies. Chanting “Divest, Disarm, Decolonise,” students lit off flares and banged doors threatening to break it down. Pink, orange, and black smoke filled the air as more and more students joined the rally calling for full divestment.

A spokesperson for Cambridge Zero Carbon said, “We stand together with campaigns from across the University to demand immediate divestment, disarmament, and decolonization. We are united, and we will win”.

According to Varsity, a joint statement was also made by the organizers.

“Today our campaigns joined forces, mobilizing hundreds of students to say no to this institution’s legitimization of the destructive actions of arms and fossil fuels companies. This University must cut all ties and it must act now, otherwise, it can have no hope of addressing its colonial past and present.”

In an analysis done by Varsity and Cherwell, it was found that Oxford and Cambridge colleges are “investing tens of millions of pounds in fossil fuel, arms and tobacco companies accused of harming the environment, funding climate change denial, and committing human rights abuse”. For example, Cherwell reports that St Anne’s College was found to have large investments in corporations previously accused of selling weaponry to Saudi Arabia. Some technologies they sell are key ingredients to building nuclear weapons and others which are possibly used to commit human rights abuses. One example of this would be Saudia Arabia’s long conflict with Yemen, causing what people call “the worst humanitarian crisis.”

One student shouted to the crowd, calling for a complete restructuring of universities’ investments system and its staff.

Judging the intensity and fervent passion of the crowd, this is definitely not their first protest. Earlier this year, calls for universities to divest in arms companies and fossil fuels were amplified with a six-day occupation of the Greenwich House, an important university administrative building, and a six-day hunger strike by three student activists that successfully got administrators to review their current practices.

What Colleges/Universities Invested In Those Companies?

According to Varsity, they reached out to 20 colleges in November and a few were discovered to have large investments in the arms industry and corporations including BAE Systems, United Technologies, Airbus SE and Lockheed Martin.

Here are the colleges:

1. Emmanuel College with £2.9m ($3,724,731) invested in two arms companies, Airbus SE and United Technologies.
2. Trinity College with £2.5m ($3,210,975), in eight companies: BAE Systems, Caterpillar Inc, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Textron, and Thales Group.
3. Selwyn College previously held £532k ($683,296) worth of investments in General Electric.
4. Darwin College with over £320k ($411,005) in British arms company BAE Systems.

What Is the University of Cambridge Known For?

Founded in 1209 in Cambridge, England, Cambridge University is a public research university. With more than 18,000 students and over 11,000 staff, the institute has 31 constituent Colleges, 150 Departments, faculties, schools, and other institutions.

In 2015, their acceptance rate for students was only 21% and tuition for undergraduates goes up to $12,000 a year.  According to Times Higher Education, Cambridge currently holds second for the best school in the world.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office

Luis Cobos-Cenobio has been identified as the 29-year-old illegal immigrant who was seen open-firing on police in shocking dashcam video footage.

According to reports from the Washington County Sheriff Office’s Facebook page, Cobos-Cenobio was pulled over by Washington County Corporal Brett Thompson on November 11 at approximately 12:43 p.m. for a traffic violation.

Cobos-Cenobio reportedly refused to stop and then fled before eventually stopping on Steele Road in Tontitown, Arkansas. When Corporal Thompson exited his vehicle to approach Cobos-Cenobio, he opened the driver’s side door and began open firing at Thompson.

Thompson returned the shots and the two exchanged gunfire before Cobos-Cenobio returned to his vehicle to attempt to escape.

Later, a Springdale Police officer spotted Cobos-Cenobio’s vehicle on 71B near Shady Grove Road in Springdale and gunfire was once again exchanged before he was eventually arrested by Springdale Police Officers.

When questioned by authorities, Cobos-Cenobio allegedly said that he started firing at Officer Thompson because he “wanted to die.”

Authorities said the 29-year-old had a wound to the left arm and shoulder and was taken to a nearby hospital before being handed over to police.

“We are so thankful Corporal Thompson, all other officers who were involved, as well as citizens who were in the areas of the incident, were unharmed,” the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Cobos-Cenobio has been jailed on $500,000 bond, and has had a detainer placed on him by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an agency spokesperson confirmed to Fox News.

He was charged with four counts of attempted capital murder, committing a terroristic act, fleeing, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

No officers or deputies were injured in the shooting and the Arkansas State Police will be investigating the incident going forward.

At this time, there is no indication when his next appearance in court will be.

Earlier this week, Amazon announced that they would be dividing their HQ2 location between two “lucky” cities: Long Island City in New York and Arlington in Virginia.

The announcement was met with both praise and backlash — mostly backlash thought — especially in New York City, where reports indicate that Amazon’s HQ2 campus could eliminate up to 1,500 affordable housing units.

Now, in response, New York Democrats in the state Assembly and state Senate have slammed the idea of New York offering taxpayer subsidies to Amazon.

That includes New York State Assembly Member Ron Kim, who said that he would be introducing legislation to take the money that Governor Cuomo and other officials committed to Amazon and use it to cancel some of the over $80 billion in New York student debt.

According to Kim, the legislation would halt any offer of taxpayer money to Amazon and redirect the funds to cancel distressed student debt instead.

“Giving Jeff Bezos hundreds of millions of dollars is an immoral waste of taxpayers’ money when it’s crystal clear that the money would create more jobs and more economic growth when it is used to relieve student debt,” said Kim, who recently published an op-ed with law professor Zephyr Teachout criticizing the Amazon deal.

“Giving Amazon this type of corporate welfare is no different, if not worse, than Donald Trump giving trillions in corporate tax breaks at the federal level. There’s no correlation between healthy, sustainable job creation and corporate giveaways. If we used this money to cancel distressed student debt instead, there would be immediate positive GDP growth, job creation and impactful social-economic returns.”

The original deal between Amazon and New York City promised that Amazon would bring about 25,000 jobs to New York City, however, the state had to give Amazon more than $1.5 billion, including an offer to reimburse the company $48,000 for every job.

Here are our top 5 ways to vent out your anger.

Cry

If you are a man reading this, it’s okay to cry. Don’t say men don’t cry, everyone cries. It’s one of the best ways to lower your anger. All that energy built inside you needs to be released into the open. Even if you don’t have a shoulder to cry on, let yourself be that loved one to hold you. Let the tears fall, and the stress escapes your body. The energy you once used for anger and stress can be released by crying.

Hit It Out

Don’t hit someone, take your pillow and punch it. The best way to release anger is to hit something. Punch the pillow like it’s the person you are angriest with, or even it being all of your work. Punch the anger and frustration out. If you need to, swear and yell as you punch your pillow, the more anger you get out, the better you will feel in the end.

Exercise

Similar to hitting out your anger, exercise can be a great way to release anger. The gym can help you sprint your way out of your frustration or lift yourself out of the bad situation. Sometimes your worst days can turn into your best days in the gym. Exercise can help you clear your head of any anger or stress from the outside world. You are exerting your body to do something like lifting weights, doing cardio, even stretching. And when you exert your body to do something other than getting angry, all that frustration can disappear when you leave the gym.

Write

Pretend to write to the person or what you are angry at. Write a letter to that person or that thing. Put all your anger out in it. Don’t look at the grammar or the story of the letter, just write and keep going. There are no rules to this letter, just write it all out. It’s like screaming on a page without anyone hearing you.

Talk

Sometimes talking to a friend or even a random stranger can help you feel less angry. It isn’t about getting advice; it’s about freeing the anger you have inside of you by talking it out. We end up learning from ourselves when we talk it all out. And, you don’t have to talk to someone, you can easily talk to yourself. If you are too scared you are going to look weird talking to yourself, the shower is the best place to talk to yourself, or even pretending to talk to the person you are angry with.

Finding your major is always the toughest decision because that is what you want to do for the rest of your life. Well, sometimes that’s the truth, but either way your major does define you in your college life. Every major is like a click, kind of like a high school click but in college. It’s your group that you can relate to and always be around. But, be prepared you will be judged by other majors, and you will do the same thing. No matter what major you are in, you will judge, and you will be judged. Which major stereotype are you in your college?

Theater & Drama

Very outgoing and flamboyant college students. Theater and drama majors are pretty self-explanatory. They act like their characters on stage. They do try to get into character, but sometimes their inner character looks like a theater character. They will dress up in bright colors and large costumes, but that is their wardrobe. And no matter how much you judge, they really don’t care. It kind of adds to their character’s. They are joyous and all around happy to be in their major, so you can’t bring them down. Just be careful with those understudies they do walk around always upset.

English

There are two types of English majors. One, the students who love reading and writing and want to take it to the future. Or, two the ones who have no idea what they want to do with life, so they chose the easy English major. English majors are very confusing. Some can be very analytical and give their opinion on everything. They could be really relaxed and just go with the flow of college. Or be those starving writers who want their work to be out their and known. Either way, English majors are forgotten about and blended into the massive crowd of students. If you’re going to be taken seriously, don’t be an English major.

Business

You instantly feel dumb when you are around a business major. Business majors have this power of looking and sounding super smart. They may not be smart, but because of what they have learned in classes and the fact they are dressed like a businessman or women, your IQ instantly drops a few points. They are already better than you when they talk because they are business majors. No matter how dumb or smart they are compared to you, they will make more money than you in the future.

Math & Science

Why? Just why do people decide to go into math or science? We totally understand if you want to be a doctor or find the cure of all diseases, but for all of you who don’t want to do that, why? When you are a math or science major, you are forever a nerd. These majors are always looked at as being cooped up in their dorm room creating boards or diagrams. If you are one of these majors, please be something great for NASA or find the cure of cancer.

Engineering

Similar to the math and science majors, but these nerds are cooler. They build things, they could be the future of mechanics. You never know, they could be what causes the terminator apocalypse. Engineering majors are looking to become the next Steve Jobs, build the spaceship that brings life to mars or create a time machine. It’s all out in the open for them. However, be careful around these students, they will always think they are better than you. Which they probably are, since they will probably be the first to build an elevator to the moon.

A 21-year-old St. Paul, Minnesota man who claimed he was the victim of racial profiling at a local Chipotle has been outed as a habitual dine-and-dasher.

According to reports, Masaud Ali claimed he had been a target of racial profile after he was refused service at a St. Paul, Minnesota Chipotle unless he paid first before receiving his food.

The manager, who was fired for the confrontation, is heard telling Ali and the group of men that he is with that he must pay first because “you never have money when you come in here.”

Chipotle released the following statement after the incident went viral on social media, saying that had conducted a “thorough investigation” and talked with police officers who were called to the establishment:

“Regarding what happened at the St. Paul restaurant, the manager thought these gentlemen were the same customers from Tuesday night who weren’t able to pay for their meal. Regardless, this is not how we treat our customers and as a result, the manager has been terminated and the restaurant [staff] has been retrained to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again,” the statement said.

However, after initially firing the manager for her perceived racist behavior, past tweets from Ali indicated that he has committed a dine-and-dash — the process of eating at a restaurant and leaving without paying — before.

“Dine and dash is forever interesting,” Masud tweeted on July 15, 2015.

“Guys we’re borrowing food… that’s it. And if the lady tries to stop you at the door don’t hesitate to truck the sh– out of that bi—,” another tweet from March 27, 2015, read.

Ali has since deleted the posts despite the fact that screenshots were already taken.

After being made aware that Ali had a history of this sort of criminal activity, Chipotle tweeted that they are investigating further:

“Our actions were based on the facts known to us immediately after the incident. We now have additional information which needs to be investigated further. We want to do the right thing, so after further investigation, we’ll re-train and re-hire if the facts warrant it,” the tweet read.

A petition to have the manager re-hired by Chipotle is closing in on 2000 signatures at the time of this writing. Ali, whose records show that he is currently on probation for theft, did not reply to a request from the Miami Herald.

At this time, the Chipotle manager has not been identified, but her Instagram can be found here, where she is promoting the petition to get her job back.

The Delta Phi chapter of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at Clemson University has told by their national organization that the chapter must close before the end of the academic school year.

According to reports, a representative of the national Kappa Alpha Theta organization notified the members of the impending closure on Wednesday, November 14.

A report from the Independent Mail says that the 117 active members of the sorority will have the option to vote to either close at the end of the semester or close at the end of the school year.

Kira Novack, the advisory board chair for the Delta Phi chapter, was sure to reiterate that the reason for closure was not financial or disciplinary. Additionally, Novack says that the sorority members were given notice in October that the national Kappa Alpha Theta was investigating the chapter’s low membership.

Kappa Alpha Theta was reportedly a small sorority in comparison to some of the other organizations on campus.

“We are deeply disappointed for the women who currently make up this chapter and for the many alumnae who have by and large been outstanding representatives of Clemson over the past 46 years. While this was not a university decision, it is important to reiterate these women are in good standing with the university. We are aggressively lobbying decision-makers for reconsideration, especially with respect to 2018 chapter initiates,” Philip Sikes, the Communications Director for the Division of Student Affairs, said in a statement.

However, as a result of the closure, recently initiated new freshmen will now be left unable to join other sororities.

The impending closure of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at Clemson University comes just months after the school announced that they would be cracking down on fraternity rules and regulations to reduce the risk of “unsafe” behavior.

Schools and universities all across the country have installed sweeping and systematic changes to their Greek life organizations in an effort to thwart the alcohol and hazing-related incidents that have been occurring at fraternities over the decades.

Clemson University Cracking Down On Fraternity Parties

The University of Kansas has commissioned a Greek life task force whose job it will be to explore making changes to the school’s Greek system in an effort to make fraternities and sororities “safer and more efficient.”

The formation of a Greek life task force comes during a year where the University of Kansas was forced to hand down multiple suspensions to Greek life organizations.

Douglas Girod, the University of Kansas Chancellor, announced the new task force on Thursday, November 8, saying that it already had plans to meet for the first time and that they are expected to recommend new Greek policies and programs by the summer.

Additionally, the university said that the task force is made up of 27 individuals that include student leaders, chapter advisers, alumni and parents, school officials from Student Affairs, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Student Conduct Office and the Chancellor’s Office.

Mike Michaelis, a Beta Theta Pi member who is a University of Kansas alumnus, will be the chair of the task force.

The move comes months after the university worked with a small group of fraternity leaders to curb Greek social activities, only to have the broader fraternity community revoke changes they deemed “unconstitutional” within days. At that time, Girod called for more collaborative efforts to address the issues.

Girod said the group will be expected to “evaluate sorority and fraternity life at KU, explore best practices related to policy and programming, and submit recommendations on how Greek life can be enhanced.”

“With sororities and fraternities under scrutiny nationwide and at KU, we must commit to raising our standards for health, wellness and self-governance and seek new ways to meet the expectations we have for our community,” Girod said in an official statement.

In February 2018, the Delta Upsilon, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity chapters at the University of Kansas were forced to cease operations due to various code of conduct violations.

Three University of Kansas Fraternities Suspended Since Start Of 2018

There are reports of multiple victims after an active shooting at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Reports indicate the shooting started at 4:18 p.m. ET and that there are multiple victims, including an officer. Police have said that gunshots were fired both inside and outside of Mercy Hospital.

At this time, reports indicate that the possible suspect “down” and there is no word on the motive. Police have asked civilians to avoid the area while they respond to the scene.

The officer involved in the shooting is reportedly in “critical” condition. The shooter has died.

What Happened?

Reports indicate that a still-unidentified active shooter fired shots inside and outside of the Mercy Hospital in Chicago’s South Side. Initial reports indicated that there were “multiple” victims as a result of the shooting, including a police officer.

A witness who was across the street at the time of the shooting said he heard six or seven gunshots that he initially thought were sounds from nearby construction. He said he saw a large police presence arrive at the hospital shortly after, and people running out of the hospital.

Witnesses who spoke to ABC7 Chicago outside the hospital said they heard a flurry of gunshots, as many as 10 to 20, causing them to duck beneath cars and hide.

Mercy Hospital is located at 2525 Michigan Avenue in Bronzeville near the intersection of 25th and Michigan Avenue in Chicago’s South Side neighborhood.

The reports of an active shooting at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, is the is just the latest in a string of lockdowns, bomb threats, and shootings that have plagued the United States.

Despite all of the recent shooting deaths in the United States, the nation’s government has yet to make any changes to our laws to better ensure the safety of the population.

Arthur Posey, a 30-year-old New Orleans mans, was charged with communicating false information of planned arson after he reportedly said that he was going to bomb a Willie’s Chicken Shack. However, Posey has since claimed that it was all a miscommunication and that he was actually referencing a bowel movement.

According to NOLA.com, New Orleans police officers responded to the Willie’s Chicken Shack on Canal Street around 7 p.m. EST on Tuesday, November 13, after Posey reportedly threatened to “blow the bathroom up.”

When responding NOPD officers arrived, Posey claimed that he meant “blow the bathroom up” in reference to a bowel movement.

The manager of the Willie’s Chicken Shack disputes Posey’s account, saying that Posey never mentioned anything about a bathroom.

Following his arrest, Posey was charged with two counts of communicating of false information of planned arson. Additionally, Posey is scheduled for a mental competency hearing on Thursday, November 29.

According to the warrant, the restaurant’s manager said that a man later identified as Posey went into the restaurant and approached the food preparation area, then asked her what time the restaurant closed. She told the man she did not know when the restaurant closed, the manager told police. The manager stated the man then replied, “Y’all about to close right now because I’m going to get a bomb and blow this place up.”

The manager told police she “took the threat very serious” and notified her general manager, who instructed her to call police, states the warrant, sworn by Officer Trevor Abney. Abney wrote that the manager was “slightly shaking” as she spoke to the officer.

Another Willie’s Chicken Shack employee told police she heard Posey, “say he was going to get a bomb and put it under the middle table of the restaurant closest to the front door,” the warrant also states.

Posey will be represented by the Orleans Public Defender’s Office.

Willie’s Chicken Shack is a popular fried chicken fast food restaurant in New Orleans, Louisiana, that has multiple locations spread throughout the city.

Juan Lopez, 32, has been identified as the man responsible for the active shooting at Mercy Hospital in Chicago’s South Side neighborhood that left 4 dead on Monday, November 19.

According to reports, Lopez open fired both inside and outside of the Mercy Hospital around 4:18 p.m. local time. Witnesses at the scene reportedly told ABC that they heard “10 to 20” gunshots.

At this time, while Lopez’s exact motive is unknown, reports indicate that the shooting started as domestic violence incident with his ex-fiancee Tamara O’Neal.

Lopez shot and killed ex-fiancee Tamara O’Neal in the parking lot and then ran into the hospital continuing to shoot, killing a pharmacy resident coming off of an elevator who was just going about her business. She has been identified as 25-year- old Dayna Less.

Lopez exchanged gunfire with Officer Jimenez and other officers as he ran into the hospital. Jimenez was shot in the lobby. A second officer was also hit but the bullet hit his holster.

The active shooting at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, is the is just the latest in a string of lockdowns, bomb threats, and shootings that have plagued the United States.

Despite all of the recent shooting deaths in the United States, the nation’s government has yet to make any changes to our laws to better ensure the safety of the population.

According to reports, Jimenez — who worked in the city’s 2nd Police District and joined the department in 2017 — ran into the line of fire to save others when a gunman began opening firing inside of the Mercy Hospital in Chicago’s South Side Neighborhood.

Jimenez was a husband and father of three.

Flags are expected to fly at half-staff at the 2nd Police District in Chicago on Tuesday, November 20.

Speaking to the Chicago Tribune, Sgt. Larry Snelling said that Jimenez was a “stellar recruit.”

“He was on top of his game. He was always in control. It takes a special kind of person to go through the rigors of the training without any issues, any problems. He was able to deal and cope with the stress,” Snelling said.

The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation said that they will present Officer Jimenez’s family with a check for $60,000 to help with expenses and that the foundation will also take care of any expenses education-related expenses for his children.

Actress Mareli Miniutti has been identified as the person who filed a restraining order in Los Angeles against lawyer Michael Avenatti on Monday, November 19. The restraining order comes less than a week after his arrest for domestic violence.

According to reports, Miniutti — an Estonian actress who has a cameo in Ocean’s 8 — filed the restraining order against Avenatti — Story Daniels lawyer — on Monday, November 19. The order comes after Avenatti was arrested earlier in November felony domestic violence charges. Avenatti was released on a $50,000 bail following his arrest.

Following Avenatti’s arrest, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles Police Department said that the alleged victim had “visible injuries” and that her face was “swollen and bruised” with “red marks” on both cheeks. However, it was not immediately clear if Miniutti was the woman who accused Avenatti of domestic violence.

In addition to Ocean’s 8, Miniutti appeared in the 2016 comedy “How to Be Single” with actress Rebel Wilson and will appear in the upcoming films Sargasso and Crypto, which stars Kurt Russell.

Following the filing of the restraining order, Miniutti’s Instagram account — which has close to 10,000 followers — was set to private.

A hearing for the restraining order is scheduled for Monday, December 10.

According to court records obtained by The Blast, actress Mareli Miniutti filed for a domestic violence restraining order against Avenatti Monday in Los Angeles.

As we reported, Avenatti was arrested last week after a woman called police. He was arrested at his apartment in L.A. but the circumstances behind the allegations were unclear.

It was also erroneously reported that Avenatti’s ex-wife was the woman who initially made the allegations, but that was later proven to be false after both of Avenatti’s former spouses came out with statements claiming he had never hit them.

After he was released from custody, Stormy Daniels’ attorney disputed he had hit anyone, and said, “I have never been physically abusive in my life nor was I last night. Any accusations to the contrary are fabricated and meant to do harm to my reputation. I look forward to being fully exonerated.”

According to Fox News, Miniutti did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Dominique Marie Moran has been identified as the 23-year-old Chipotle restaurant manager who was fired and subsequently re-hired by the fast-casual dining chain after she was found to have done nothing wrong in what was originally deemed a racist incident.

What Happened?

According to reports, 21-year-old Masaud Ali claimed he had been a target of racial profiling by Moran after she refused him service at the Chipotle restaurant unless he paid first.

Ali posted a video of the incident to Twitter on Friday, November 16, tagging Chipotle as he asked: “Can a group of young well established African American get a bite to eat after a long workout session.”

Moran, who was originally fired by Chipotle after the video went viral, can be heard telling Ali and the group of men that he is with that they must pay first because “you never have money when you come in here.”

After the incident went viral, Chipotle released the following statement, saying that had conducted a “thorough investigation” and talked with police officers who were called to the establishment:

“Regarding what happened at the St. Paul restaurant, the manager thought these gentlemen were the same customers from Tuesday night who weren’t able to pay for their meal. Regardless, this is not how we treat our customers and as a result, the manager has been terminated and the restaurant [staff] has been retrained to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again,” the statement said.

However, after further investigation, it became clear that Moran was right in her actions as Ali has an apparent history of dine-and-dashing. A “dine-and-dash” is the process of eating at a restaurant and leaving without paying.

“Dine and dash is forever interesting,” Masud tweeted on July 15, 2015.

“Guys we’re borrowing food… that’s it. And if the lady tries to stop you at the door don’t hesitate to truck the sh– out of that bi—,” another tweet from March 27, 2015, read.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Moran said that while she has officially been offered her job back, she is not sure if she is going to accept:

“I’m not sure if I’m going to take the [job] offer yet. I feel grateful but at the same time I still have questions. I feel like I’ve really been put on blast, so to speak. The circumstances were not how it looked. It looked like a very hateful thing and it was not that way.

I have nothing to hide. I’m not a racist, I know who I am. No one asked my side of the story and I feel I deserve to be heard. People are showing me a lot of support and I’m very grateful,” Moran said.

Sanja Star Harrison has been identified as the 14-year-old child that was shot and killed in Atlanta on Monday, November 19, when a gunshot was fired from an upstairs unit.

According to Atlanta Police Department spokesperson Stephanie Brown, Harrison was shot and killed around 6:30 p.m. EST at the Pavilion Place Apartments on Cleveland Avenue after a gunshot fired from an upstairs unit struck her in the head.

When police arrived, Harrison had already died, said the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office. At this time, further circumstances surrounding Harrison’s death are unknown.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Harrison’s death is one of a handful of recent violent deaths at Atlant’s PavilionPlace Apartments.

Since 2015 last three years, there have been at least two other violent deaths at the apartment complex: 24-year-old Tiffany Louise Bailey was shot and killed in November 2015 and 3-year-old Kejuan Mason was found beaten to death in October 2017.

Additionally, 17-year-old Jamal Baker was shot in the leg by police officers as he was exiting a stolen vehicle in May of 2018.

In the last three years, there have been at least two other violent deaths at Pavilion Place. Tiffany Louise Bailey, a 24-year-old mother of three, was shot and killed there in November 2015. Her boyfriend, Deunta Grier, confessed to the crime and surrendered at Bailey’s funeral. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Kejuan Mason, 3, was found beaten to death in October 2017. Sisters Lashirley and Glenndria Morris were indicted earlier this year on felony murder charges in connection with Kejuan’s death. Prosecutors allege Lashirley Morris used a bat to beat Kejuan repeatedly in the head, stomach, legs and arms, while legal guardian Glenndria Morris spanked him after he sneaked and ate a cupcake, Fulton district attorney spokesman Dexter Bond said at the time of the indictment.

And this past May, police shot 17-year-old Jamal Baker in the leg after he got out of a stolen vehicle vehicle they were pursuing and fired at an officer, according to authorities.
