Jason Witten’s Nightmare Debut Season Continues, Compares Saquon To OJ Simpson

ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Jason Witten’s nightmare debut season only got worse on Monday, November 12, when he compared Giants running back Saquon Barkley to suspected murderer OJ Simpson.

In the third quarter of the Monday Night Football game between the lowly New York Giants and the pitiful San Fransisco 49ers, Witten and his trademark clunky delivery compared Giants rookie phenom running back Saquon Barkley to … OJ Simpson?

I mean, seriously, of all the excellent running backs in the history of the National Football League, the first one that comes to Witten’s mind is the alleged murderer. Just not the best look from a color commentator who has already embarrassed himself a handful of times this season.

— CMG (@coednews) November 13, 2018

Look, Jason Witten seems like an excellent, decent man, but color commentary just doesn’t seem like his thing. His delivery is clunky, his body language is robotic, and his analysis is rudimentary at best.

Luckily for him, though, we’re sure if this whole Monday Night Football thing doesn’t work out, he can land a job with his Dallas Cowboys, who specialize in nepotism these days.

The Struggles Of A College Athlete

College is hard enough as a NARP, but being a college athlete is like being God on campus. Not only do you have to stress about your season but you have to worry about getting your fifteen-page paper done. It may seem simple for some of you but have you looked at college athletes regular season schedule? And it’s not just the stress of a regular season schedule you also have to add in the offseason schedule. Gym sessions, morning practices, night practices, scrimmages, games, then you add in the school work of a regular student. And if that isn’t worse enough, add in some teams having a dry season. That’s almost four months without a drop of alcohol. Welcome to the struggles of a college athlete.

No Off Season

That’s right, there are no rest days when you are a college athlete. Your regular season ends, and offseason starts. Seven days a week you are in the gym, running sprints, lifting weights, in the cage, passing the ball, working on your weakness to make them a strength, you are always working. There are no vacations when you are a college athlete.

The Constant Need Of A Nap

Napping will become your greatest strength as a college athlete. No matter where you are, you will be able to catch a five-minute nap session. You could be on the bus to a game, on the floor of the locker room, sometimes even standing up. You will start dreaming of taking naps. If you don’t find your soul mate, meet naps, they will never leave you or break your heart.

Tired & Sore All The Time

If you’re a NARP and you see someone limping, waddling, or shuffling, they are obviously an athlete. Athletes will never take the stairs; they are every athlete’s worst nightmare. Elevators and escalators are pure saviors. The pain of sore muscles, bruises, and occasional turf burns will never go away unless you are asleep.

The Bottom-Less Stomach

As an athlete the calories do not add up, they basically don’t count. No athlete is ever full. Their rooms are filled with snacks. They will keep eating even after a regular meal. A college athlete, on average, will have six to seven meals a day. But, who cares? At least they had practice.

Staying At School During Break

There are no vacations as a college student. The school is your new home for the next four years. You won’t be going back home, you are stuck at school, practicing every single day, but at least you are with your team. Sometimes that’s great, but your own bed starts to become a long lost dream.

Bored On Days Off

It’s rare to get a day off, but when you do, it’s like you are in another world. You have no idea what to do. You could get all your homework done for the week, or catch up on some sleep. But, we all know with this much freedom, nothing will get done. The most productive you will be is binge-watching the new popular original Netflix series.

Mixing Sports With Class Schedule

What do you do when you have morning sprints, afternoon gym session, and night practice and still have to finish your five classes and homework? See this is a trick question, there is no answer to this question. You must panic and never sleep.

The Sweats Debate

The morning debate on if you should wear regular clothing or your team gear. You talk to yourself in front of the mirror for a good five minutes and then come to the conclusion that sweatpants are always the go too.

No Standard Sleep Schedule

Because of your class schedule and practice schedule, you end up having five hours of sleep on Monday night while on Thursday you get a good eight hours of sleep. There is never a regular sleep schedule when you are a college athlete. There are some days where you pull all-nighters to get your work done and still make it to your morning training session.

The Student Professor Relationship

There is sometimes a good thing about being a college athlete, most of your professors give you leeway for missing class or missing homework. Sometimes they will even turn your crappy paper into an A because they know you have a bad schedule. But, be careful, sometimes professors will hurt you because you are a college athlete.

It seems that being married to supermodels isn’t enough for Mohamed Hadid, as he has reportedly been involved in an affair with 24-year-old Justyna Monde.

Monde has gone public with claims that she had an affair with real estate mogul Mohamed Hadid, who is the father of Victoria’s Secret Angels Gigi Hadid and Bella Haid.

Hadid, who had Bella and Gigi with former supermodel Yolanda Hadid, has been engaged to 36-year-old Second Wives Club star Shiva Safai since 2013.

To substantiate her claims of an affair with the world-famous real estate developer, Monde provided private direct messages between the two to Daily Mail. They were the definition of cringe-worthy, to say the least.

via Daily Mail:

“She told DailyMailTV: ‘We met through Instagram. I texted him “hi” and then he replied with his numbers. We kept talking for months, getting to know each other quite well.

We texted a lot on WhatsApp. It was a lot of texts. At first we were getting to know each other, then deeper. We talked a lot about art, he paints, and I paint. We like art.

It started innocent but then it became a little bit sexual. We sent photos to each other of what we were doing. Of course, there were some nice, private selfies. I wanted to experience an older man and of course he was attractive. He was sending text messages and in one of them, he said, “I would love to eat pierogis off your body.

Sometimes he would ask me to send him some naughty pictures. And of course I did. I see nudity as a part of art. He was quite interested. He liked me a lot.”

While Hadid has been engaged to the stunning Shiva Safai since 2013, the two have yet to be married. Now that this report has come out, that marriage seems as unlikely as ever.

murder suspect Rodolfo Valencia mugshot

Arlington County Police

Rodolfo Rivera Valencia has been identified as the 24-year-old United States Marine who allegedly killed his wife after “blacking out” at a military ball that the pair attended just hours earlier.

Valencia, 24, was charged with murder after his 20-year-old wife, Natasha Soto Rivera, was found dead at a Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, on Saturday, November 3.

According to a report from The Free Lance-Star, Valencia and Soto Rivera — who was also in the United States Marine Corps — went to the Marine Corps Ball on Friday, November 2 at the Marriott Hotel in Virginia, which is located approximately 30 miles from their base in Quantico.

The following morning, Valencia called authorities to report Soto Rivera’s murder. While Valencia told dispatchers that he believed he killed his wife, he later told detectives that he “drank to the point of blacking out” and did not recall how Soto Rivera died.

Responding police officers discovered that Soto Rivera’s injuries were consistent with being strangled and that she “endured a brutal beating.”

Valencia and Soto Rivera, who had been married for approximately seven or eight months, shared one infant boy together.

via The Free Lance-Star:

According to an affidavit for a search warrant filed in Stafford Circuit Court, the Arlington emergency communications center received a call from Rivera Valencia at 10:13 a.m. He told the dispatcher that his wife was unconscious and he believed he had killed her, the affidavit states.

Arlington Detective Jasmine Sean wrote that Natasha Rivera had injuries to her neck consistent with strangulation and bruising to her arms and face indicative of a “brutal” beating. She was already dead when police and medical personnel arrived at the motel.

Sean wrote that Rivera Valencia said that he drank to the point of “blacking out” following the Marine Corps dinner and ceremonies and had no memory of what had happened the night before. He said he woke up that morning with his dead wife beside him and did not render medical aid or immediately call 911.

While speaking to investigators, Valencia claimed to have an anger problem.

At this time, Valencia is being held in the Arlington County Detention Center under no bond.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office

Edward John Abernathy, the 50-year-old principal of Connerton Elementary School in Land O’Lakes, Florida, was arrested on Thursday, November 8, for allegedly stealing $900 from a student with mental disabilities.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the unnamed student brought $2,100 of his parents’ money to school on Monday, October 22.

After Connerton Elementary School teachers realized that the young boy had the money, they confiscated it, counted it, and locked it in Abernathy’s office for safe keeping.

When the boy’s mother retrieved the money on Friday, October 26, she realized that she only received $2100 from Abernathy and contacted her son’s teacher, thinking that there had maybe been a mix-up.

Once the boy’s mother realized there had not been a mistake, they So contacted the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, who then interviewed the family, Abernathy and school staff.

via Tampa Bay Times:

The deputy learned that Abernathy had counted the money himself and verified it was $2,100, and that he had later hidden it inside of a speaker on top of a shelf in his, according to his arrest report.

Abernathy changed the story he told the deputy several times, according to the Sheriff’s Office, even suggesting that the student could have taken the missing $900.

When the deputy told Abernathy that reaching the speaker — about 6 feet off the ground — would be hard for an elementary-age child, the principal said it would be “a bit of a reach,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Abernathy, whose salary as principal of Connerton Elementary School exceeds $90,000, was booked into the Land O’Lakes Detention Center on one charge of grand theft of less than $5000. He was later freed after posting $2,000 bail.

Kurt Browning, the Superintendent of the Pasco County School District, said Abernathy will be placed on paid administrative leave while the district investigates and gathers more information about Abernathy’s alleged crime.

UTSA Professor Anita Moss Calls Cops On Student Who Had Her Feet Up

The University of Texas at San Antonio is facing backlash after a member of their faculty allegedly called the police on a student for having their feet up in class.

According to reports, Anita Moss, a biology professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio, called the police to escort a student out of the lecture hall for having her feet propped up on a chair.

Video posted on Monday, November 12, by Twitter user @ApurvaYRawal shows the events unfold.

“So this happened today in class, a girl had her feet up and the professor called the police after calling our class uncivil,” the caption to the tweet read.

— Apurva Rawal (@ApurvaYRawal) November 12, 2018

Twitter user went on to describe his point of view of this incident in a series of threaded tweets:

“This professor stopped class entirely and stepped out to call the police just because one student had her feet up on a seat in front of her. Mind you she wasn’t talking or interrupting lecture.

The class before this professor went on a whole tirade about how uncivil we all were because a few students were on their phone or not paying attention, cutting lecture time for the rest of us because her ego was bruised.

As upset as I am that my professor decided to throw a temper tantrum the lecture before an exam and cancel class, I’m even more outraged that she would decide to single out and humiliate a student just to flex her authority in a destructive manner.

I chose to attend this university because of it’s welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, and today’s events genuinely make me concerned for not only my fellow students, but any future roadrunners that may choose to attend this institution in the future.

@UTSA you need to answer for this, because I know we as a university are better than this.”

The woman in the video has since identified herself on Twitter, saying that she was told she “needed to leave or would be escorted out by officers” and that a police report is being followed at this time.

Additionally, the student in the video said “this is just the beginning” when it comes to her response to being wrongfully removed from the class:

Following the circulation of the video, UTSA’s Chief Communications Officer Joe Izbrand issued the following statement via email to mySA.com:

“We are aware of this situation and are working closely with the student and Department of Biology to better understand what happened today,” his statement reads.

According to UTSA’s website, Moss is a senior lecturer specializing in human anatomy and human physiology.

Michigan Universities Rejects Proposal 1 & Warns Students To Not Smoke

Marijuana in a person's hand

Not long ago, we heard about our neighbor up north legalizing weed to its people a few weeks ago, causing the amount of weed in that country to drop dangerously low. Catching steam of that in the states, it lit up the already progressive movement to legalize what was once called the devil’s lettuce. That’s right. We are talking about weed, marijuana, bud, or any colloquial label you would slap onto its scientific name. But though many states are seeing the benefits of marijuana, not everyone is feeling high.

What Is Happening?

Michigan has become the latest state to legalize marijuana in a vote that came out to be in favor of it in a 56-44 percent margin. Though many people are happy with the results, some communities and institutions are saying no to marijuana. College officials at campuses across the state have cited that even though marijuana is officially becoming legal next month for people 21 and over, that practice will not be tolerated on campus.

Michigan State University is one of the prestigious school in Michigan to address it. In a memo to students, Detroit Free Press cites:

“We would like to remind everyone that this new state law will not change policies prohibiting the use or possession of marijuana on any property owned or managed by MSU, and by MSU’s faculty, staff, or students on any MSU property or during off-campus MSU business or events,” Denise Maybank, vice president and associate provost at Michigan State University in East Lansing, wrote in a memo to students, faculty and staff Monday evening.

“Employees and students who violate university policy prohibiting the use or possession of illegal drugs on campus will continue to be subject to legal and disciplinary action,” the memo added.

Michigan universities to students: Don't bring your weed on campus https://t.co/cMTHvz3dQu

— Detroit Free Press (@freep) November 13, 2018

A few other universities such as Wayne State University and Central Michigan University have also joined the resistance against weed.

Ted Montgomery, a spokesman for Wayne State University, said they have no plans of deterring from their stance to continue complying with the federal law on prohibiting marijuana use and possession on campus.

President Bob Davies of Central Michigan University also noted in a memo.

“The use or possession of marijuana is still not allowed on university properties or in the conduct of university business away from campus. Using, distributing and possessing marijuana remains illegal under federal law. Our campus policies comply with federal law.”

So for any potheads in any Michigan universities who are looking to take a trip to cloud 9, take it somewhere else cause it’s not worth getting in trouble for.

What Is Important About Proposal 1?

Michigan says YES to Proposal 1 – officially becoming the tenth state in America to legalize recreational cannabis, and the first in Midwest.

Michigan passed Proposal 1 on November 6, making marijuana legal for those 21 and older in the state.

According to Ballotpedia, individuals 21 years of age or older are allowed to possess, use, transport, or process 2.5 ounces or less of marijuana or 15 grams of marijuana. Each individual is allowed to grow a limit of 12 marijuana plants, for as long as the plants are kept away from a public place, and store up to 10 ounces of marijuana from the plants for personal use.

Individuals are also allowed to share or transfer without payment up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana to other persons 21 years of age or older. Being under the influence of marijuana remains illegal while driving motor vehicles, aircraft, motorboats, off-road recreational vehicles, or snowmobiles. Smoking marijuana is still illegal in all public places.

Lorena Martin, the former Director of High Performance for the Seattle Mariners, has taken to Instagram to accuse high-ranking officials in the organization of racism.

According to her post, Martin claims general manager Jerry Dipoto, manager Scott Servais and director of player development Andy McKay are prejudiced towards Latin American players, calling them “lazy, dumb, and stupid.”

In addition, Martin claimed that Seattle Mariners officials were specifically prejudiced towards players of Dominican descent.

via Instagram:

“The Mariners organization has major issues. The things I’ve witnessed and heard first hand have left me shocked. How can their GM Jerry Dipoto, manager Scott Servais and director of player development Andy McKay speak about their players like this. … Calling LATINOS LAZY, DUMB, and STUPID, especially the DOMINICANS.”

She added, “And then they wondered why they didn’t make it to the playoffs. Leadership is to blame, under Jerry Dipoto’s leadership no team has made it to the playoffs and they will continue to miss the playoffs with him in his position. Poor leadership. It’s come to the point where I have to speak out because they are firing innocent trainers for trying to do the right thing and because of their color/race.”

Following Martin’s claims, the Seattle Mariners denied released a statement to the Seattle Times denying her allegations, calling them “absolutely false and ludicrous.”

These are claims are not true. They are absolutely false and ludicrous. She is fabricating stories, including her reports to human resources and the people named in this story. In at least one instance, there was a witness in the room that can confirm that the stories did not happen as she related they did,” the Seattle Mariners statement to the Seattle Times read in part.

Our statement regarding Dr. Lorena Martin. pic.twitter.com/5RV4AuKxTE

— Seattle Mariners (@Mariners) November 13, 2018

via Tacoma News-Tribune:

Martin told The News Tribune that Dipoto, in a meeting with Martin and McKay in January, called her a “cocky Latina.” In that same meeting McKay said Dominican players are “just plain stupid” and, in a separate meeting, Servais told her that you don’t see Latino catchers or managers because “they aren’t bright enough. They are dumb.”

Martin said she reported these incidents in several meetings with the team’s human resources since spring training and to multiple Mariners staff members. She said she felt she was fired in retaliation for that. She also said she has hired an attorney and is seeking wrongful termination.

Martin was hired as the newly created position of Director of High Performance on October 30, 2017.

A 31-year-old woman is suing the University of Maryland Baltimore, and its medical school. She is alleging that officials they have failed to take action to stop persisting sexual harassment. For three years a vascular surgeon and associate professor made unwanted advances toward the woman. Her complaints were dismissed by her supervisors and completely disregarded by the school’s investigative team. Three other women have also claimed the same thing about the doctor’s behavior.

What Happened?

Carly Goldstein, a 31 years old former research coordinator is suing the University of Maryland, Baltimore and its school of Medicine after stating that college officials ignore her pleas for help to stop Dr. Robert Crawford and a professor from sexually harassing her.

For three years since 2014, Goldstein has received debaucherous messages through text, hinting sexual innuendos and degrading messages.

“You are smoking hot in the way that I enjoy,” a text said on July of 2015. “I would give a pinky to have you for 24 hours.”

After presenting those text and other evidence pointing to the aggressive approach of Crawford, officials did the unthinkable and disregarded the whole case itself. Angered, Goldstein felt it was time to take legal matters to settle this.

“I’m proceeding with this and coming forward because I truly hope at some point it will enact change, that they will address sexism,” she said in an interview with The Sun. She wanted to “address the environment that allowed a predator to thrive.” Whether this was done to address what allowed the buildup of the harassment or just the general gist of the male dominant culture of departments, it nonetheless sheds light in a matter that transcends into a bigger message about patriarchy.

Screenshot of Crawford's Linkedin profile

LinkedIn/Robert Crawford

Indeed, the exposure of this case has led to the discovery of three women who claimed to have experienced the same unwanted harassment from Crawford. They all noted the lack of disciplinary actions done by officials to stop this predatory behavior. In addition, they described an unhealthy atmosphere where sexual and inappropriate comments were accepted as a norm in the vascular surgery department. Among the three women were two surgeons who said their departure with the department has everything to do with the derogative nature of the office and the constant harassment from male colleagues.

The chief of vascular surgery, Dr. Rajabrata Sarkar, was aware of these despicable actions. In 2014, Dr. Sarkar was notified that Crawford harassed a female sales representative by “demanding that a female product sales representative spend time alone with him in order for him to consider the products she was selling,” according to The Sun. It was not mentioned why he did nothing to ameliorate this.

For three years, Dr. Robert Crawford, a vascular surgeon at the University of Maryland Medical Center and a professor at the affiliated University of Maryland medical school, sexually harassed her, Goldstein alleges in a federal lawsuit. https://t.co/XyoX4sn3Y5

— MSparck (@msparck) November 13, 2018

Despite the voices of the victims involved in this case, University official claimed they addressed the complaints, specifically Goldstein’s.

“The University of Maryland, Baltimore takes allegations of harassment and mistreatment very, very seriously,” Alex Likowski, UMB’s executive director of media relations, said in a statement. “As soon as this matter was brought to our attention we investigated immediately and promptly took reasonable steps to address the complaints. However, since this is a pending legal and personnel matter, I can’t address the specific allegations, the results of our investigation or any actions taken by the university at this time.” Likowski was speaking for UMB, which includes the medical school.

With this statement, university officials saw their unstated actions as proper and are asking for the lawsuit to be dismissed.

Brian Frosh, an attorney general on behalf of the university, wrote in his response to undermine Goldstein’s position in the school. He states that she was never technically an employee of the university or on its payroll. Instead, Goldstein worked for a foundation located in the Baltimore VA Medical Center alongside doctors who were also part-time faculty members at the university, his response states.

Goldstein states that Crawford’s aggressive approach began in April of 2014 when she was a research coordinator. He has stated that he had difficulties in concentrating on his work due to the body shape of Goldstein being a focal distraction to him. She has voiced her disinterest in a romantic relationship with him, but the alleged harassment only intensified from there.

Goldstein recalls an incident where she needed to ask Crawford to sign off on documents and he would only satisfy her request if only she agrees to go to a bar with him. She alleges that Crawford twice touched her non-consensually, once in November 2015 and once in July 2016. Looking back now, she reprimands herself for compromising with her fear of not getting the letter of recommendation she needed to go to grad school. For her future, she was willing to endure the sufferings and try to put up with it. However, her negligence and fear only led to the escalation of abuse.

In November 2015 at the Brewer’s Art Bar and Resturant, “Crawford reached his arm around Goldstein, touched her legs and thigh and commenced kissing her against her will.” Goldstein’s suit says she repeatedly told him to stop and began sobbing. A worker came over to asses the situation but she was already running out of the restaurant.

A few days later, Goldstein was notified by another surgeon, Dr. Shahab Toursavadkohi, that Crawford has tried to get her fired. Distraught, she and the doctor both recognize Crawford’s action as a sign of retaliation.

In February and March of 2017, Goldstein finally decided to file discrimination charges with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and resigned from her position.

Ohio University has shut down the Sigma Pi Epsilon fraternity following the death of a student pledge.

According to a statement from Ohio University officials, 18-year-old Collin Wiant was found unresponsive in an off-campus apartment that is allegedly an unofficial annex of the university’s Sigma Pi Epsilon chapter.

After being found unresponsive at the fraternity’s annex house, Wiant was pronounced dead at the hospital a little while later.

Following the death of Wiant, a notification of cease and desist was sent to Elijah Wahib, the president of Sigma Pi Epsilon.

As a result of the cease and desist, the fraternity can not meet in any capacity, which includes organizational meetings, executive board meetings, organizational programming, social events, philanthropic events, recreational sports competitions, and any trip or travel.

Additionally, active fraternity members may also not communicate via any means, including voice, email, text or any social media platform, without pre-approval from Compton. All chapter members will be notified of the directive, Compton said in the letter.

via The Post:

University Spokeswoman Carly Leatherwood said the administrative directive to the chapter was “as an abundance of caution” by the university.

On Tuesday, Martha Compton, director of the Office of Community Standards and Student Responsibility (CSSR), sent a notification of cease and desist to Elijah Wahib, the president of Sigma Pi at OU.

Compton said in the letter that CSSR “has received information which alleges that (the fraternity) has engaged in conduct that puts the health and safety of (its) members at risk and is not in compliance with the behavioral expectations set out in the (OU) Student Code of Conduct.”

Additionally, active fraternity members may also not communicate via any means, including voice, email, text or any social media platform without approval from Martha Compton.

The closure of Sigma Pi Epsilon at Ohio University is the latest major Greek life suspension, expulsion, or overhaul in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State, and Penn State have all suspended fraternities for various reasons.

Fraternities have been suspended or expelled across the nation as Greek life organizations and universities attempt to grapple with the pitfalls of hazing, alcohol and drug abuse, and sexual assault.

Original article:

Missouri State Highway Patrol has asked for the public’s help in finding Raffaella Maria Stroik, a missing 23-year-old from St. Louis.

According to police, Stroik was last seen at Whole Foods Market in Town and Country on the morning of Monday, November 12, however, her vehicle was located two hours away in rural Monroe County.

Police say that a park ranger found Stroik’s car unattended in a boat ramp parking lot at Mark Twain Lake State Park — approximately two hours from where she was last seen — around 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13.

Police say that when Stroik’s car was found, it was locked and her personal belongings — including a cell phone — were found inside.

At the time Stroik’s vehicle was found, the responding ranger did not find a missing person report for Stroik, so no further action was taken.

“Her keys were found laying outside the vehicle. They appeared to have been intentionally placed in a certain spot on the vehicle,” said Country. Sgt. Eric Brown.

via Fox:

Law enforcement contacted Stroik’s family. It was determined she was missing and a report was filed.

Representatives from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Missouri Department of Conservation, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe City Fire Department, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Monroe City Ambulance District conducted a ground search of the area Tuesday. A helicopter flew over the area, and crews searched the water as well.

The search was called off when it became too dark. They plan to begin searching again Wednesday around 9 a.m.

“The biggest challenge is going to be it is a very secluded area,” said Brown. “Lots of timber, lots of wooded areas, mixed in with some grasslands as well. Not a lot of homes in the area to where we could have potential witnesses.”

Stroik is described as a 23-year-old white female who is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 115 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. She normally wears her hair in a ponytail or a braid.

Police have asked anyone with information about Stroik or her whereabouts to call 911 or the Missouri State Highway Patrol at 660-385-2132.

Emma Coronel is the wife of notorious Mexican cartel drug lord El Chapo.

El Chapo, born Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera on April 4, 1957, is the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel. The Sinaloa Cartel is an international drug trafficking, money laundering, and organized crime syndicate that is based in the city of Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico.

The Sinaloa Cartel, which was first formed during the mid-1980s, has operations in the Mexican states of Baja California, Durango, Sonora, and Chihuahua.

El Chapo has infamously escaped from prison twice. His first prison escape came in 2001, when he bribed prison guards at a federal maximum-security prison. Following his 2001 prison escape, El Chapo was then arrested again on February 22, 2014, after he was found inside a condominium in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. He then escaped from jail a second time in July 2015 through a tunnel.

He was recaptured by Mexican marines and Federal Police on January 8, 2016, and was extradited to the United States a little over one year later to be brought up on criminal charges for his involvement with the Sinaloa Cartel.

At this time, it is believed that the Sinaloa Cartel is now run by Ismael Zambada Garcia (otherwise known as El Mayo) and El Chapo’s two sons: Alfredo Guzman Salazar and Ivan Archivaldo Salazar.

El Chapo is banned from having any direct contact or communication with his wife Emma Coronel while he stands trial in New York City for his litany of crimes.

Delindsey Dwayne Mack has been identified as the student who was gunned down near Lamar High School on Tuesday, November 13. The 18-year-old Mack was walking during lunch period when he was shot multiple times. The incident is believed to be the latest killing in a gang war, according to KTRK in Houston.

Mack was walking with a 15-year-old girl who was also struck by a bullet.

“Once the suspect fired upon the male and female, the male went down. That suspect stood over that individual and fired more shots,” Houston Police Executive Assistant Chief Troy Finner said.

Mack died from his injuries at the hospital.

From the report:

The gunman, wearing a mask, got out and fired about a dozen times. Mack was rushed to the hospital, where he died. Police sources tell Eyewitness News the fatal shooting was retaliatory and gang-related, after back and forth shootings between rival gangs in recent weeks. The violence sent Lamar into lockdown mode and led to a show of force by police at Ben Taub Hospital, where Mack died.

The killer, who was reportedly in the car with two other individuals, is still at large.

“The city of Houston will not tolerate gang activity or any senseless violence on our streets, especially not the kind that targets young people. Our children are off limits. I want parents and students to feel protected and confident while they are near or inside a school,” Mayor Sylvester Turner said in a statement of his own, via KHOU-11.

Our deepest condolences go out to Mack’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult and tragic time.

Ohio State University Students Protest Ben Shapiro’s Lecture, Chanting “John McCain Is Dead”

A group of Ohio State University students organized a protest outside the venue where conservative commentator Ben Shapiro was delivering remarks on Tuesday, November 13.

Young America’s Foundation (YAF) shared a video that shows the students were chanting “John McCain’s dead” and prior to that “Reagan’s dead.”

While a productive and civil discussion is going on inside the event, the hypocrisy of the Left is on FULL BLAST outside the venue.

There’s only one place that hate is coming from tonight and it’s not @BenShapiropic.twitter.com/YtstspUIzc

— YAF (@yaf) November 14, 2018

What Happened?

A group of students organized a protest of Shapiro’s lecture on Tuesday night, which was organized by Young America’s Foundation. The protesters marched towards the building where the lecture was taking place, chanting, “F*uck Ben Shapiro!” The protesters have bundled up, and many are holding signs denouncing Shapiro and the YAF.

After approaching the building where Sharpio delivers the lecture, the group of demonstrators then stood outside of the lecture hall, chanting about various conservative icons who are no longer among the living. The chant started out with “Reagan is dead!” After a while, the chant shifted to “John McCain is dead!”

— Emily Jashinsky (@emilyjashinsky) November 14, 2018

According to the Daily Caller, YAF, which is sponsoring Shapiro’s college campus tour, told The Federalist that the protesters also chanted “Bush Senior’s dead” until they apparently realized George H.W. Bush is still living.

Elle Lamb, president of Ohio State’s YAF chapter, said she wanted to bring Shapiro to Ohio State so it could spark conversation on a campus she views as politically apathetic, The Lantern reported.

“He gets the attention of students who are more lethargic in their political beliefs,” Lamb said in an interview prior to the event.

Lamb was aware of those planning to protest the event but wanted a speaker like Shapiro to spark discussion, not violence.

“That’s my frustration with protests,” she told The Lantern. “You have the opportunity to get up and ask him your questions and be able to debate someone. Why do you just want to scream and shout him down and shut him down?”

Jack Wagner, a second-year in political science and history at OSU, was volunteering for the Young Democratic Socialists of America outside Shapiro’s speech where they tried to rally support for a $15 minimum wage for campus workers.

“We thought that we wanted to have a presence at the event and we had a lot of time deliberating on what we wanted to do and we thought the best thing to do was have a table for ‘Fight for 15,'” Wagner said. “We thought it’d be a way to get a positive cause at an event that a lot of people would label as negative, especially if you see all the anti-Ben Shapiro posters up about his bigotry.”

Wagner also said that, overall, he was disappointed Shapiro got a platform at OSU.

“I’m not really one to say that one should have their free speech suppressed, but I think it presents somewhat of a danger to a lot of the people at the school who feel that his messages are typically targeted at them and targets violence and harassment at them,” Wagner told The Lantern.

YAF reported that Ohio State’s Morrill Scholars Program’s student advisory council sent out a message to students via email before the event, advising them to seek a “safe environment” due to Shapiro’s presence on campus.

— Benny (@bennyjohnson) November 14, 2018

The email did not explain how Shapiro’s rhetoric might threaten students’ emotional and mental safety. Shapiro is on a tour of college campuses and has encountered protests at other stops along the way. Pittsburgh University announced that it would impose a “security fee” on students to cover the cost of guards at Shapiro’s speech on Wednesday, November 14. YAF has threatened a lawsuit if the university doesn’t drop the fee.

Who Is Ben Shapiro?

Shapiro is an American conservative political commentator, writer, and lawyer. He is formerly of Breitbart and now editor-in-chief of his own website, The Daily Wire. Sharpio is known for speaking on campuses across the country and bringing controversy with him.

He was invited by the Ohio State chapter of Young Americans Foundation on November 13 to speak in front of a crowd of 500 students.

Shapiro is also aware of the protesters that pop up wherever he goes and frequently addresses it on his podcast, The Ben Shapiro Show, and addressed the ongoing protests during his Ohio State speech on Tuesday.

Amy Nowaczyk mugshot

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

Amy Nowaczyk, a 26-year-old former teacher at Morton Middle School who was accused of performing oral sex on a teenage student, has been sentenced to one to two years in prison. She was sentenced in a Douglas County court on Friday, November 9.

According to court records, Nowaczyk pled guilty to charges of attempted sexual assault of a child and enticement by electronic device. These charges were amended, as Nowacyk was originally charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child. Nowaczyk’s original charges carried a maximum of life in prison.

Nowaczyk was previously arrested in April of 2018 after the unidentified 13-year-old teenager allegedly told investigators the two had “sexual contact several times inside the classroom during the previous eight months.”

Additionally, Nowaczyk was accused of exchanging messages with the underage boy through Omaha Public Schools email, text messages, and the photo-messaging app Snapchat. Furthermore, Nowaczyk allegedly sent the boy a photo of her bare breasts while she was wearing a watch that she “often wore.”

As for why there has been such a significant increase in instances of teachers having sexual relationships with students, researchers believe that technology is to blame.

According to a report from the Texas Education Association, smartphones make easy for teachers to privately text and talk with students and also make it possible for teachers and students to share explicit images.

SESAME (Stop Educator Sexual Abuse Misconduct & Exploitation) President Terri Miller echoed that sentiment, stating “before cell phones, we knew who our kids were talking to” but today, “kids have their own phones, they’re taking them to bed, and parents need to watch more.”

Nowaczyk is just the latest teacher to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges. A woman named Kayla Sprinkles was arrested in North Carolina for similar sexual crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

34-year-old Miranda Nicole Pauley was charged with similar crimes, Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student, Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016 and 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship. 27-year-old Brittany Zamora from Arizona was arrested on similar charges. Keri Hoffman, 35, was also arrested for an alleged relationship with a student. Similarly, 29-year-old Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander and 33-year-old Maren Oates were arrested on similar charges.

More recently, 29-year-old Haylie Smart, 25-year-old Alaina Ferguson, and 32-year-old Laura Bucy were charged with similar crimes.
