Katherine Waterston is an American actress who is best known for her starring roles in films such as Michael Clayton, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Alien: Covenant, Steve Jobs, Inherent Vice, Logan Lucky, and Mid90s.

Waterson, who was born on March 3, 1980, in Westminster, London, is the daughter of Academy Award-nominated actor Sam Waterson, who is best known for portraying Jack McCoy on Law & Order.

After her star turn in Inherent Vice, Waterson began appearing in major motion pictures such as Steve Jobs, Alien: Covenant, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, and Logan Lucky.

In 2018, Waterson appeared in Jonah Hill’s directorial debut Mid90s and the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

“The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung and Yair Rodriguez put on an epic performance in the main event of UFC Fight Night 139 on Saturday, November 10. The event celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and the main event was a perfect moment, with Rodriguez landing a hail mary, no-look uppercut elbow to finish the fight — which he was trailing — with just one second left on the clock.

Following the main event, both men were sent to the hospital for their wounds from the epic battle.

While at the hospital, The Korean Zombie and Rodriguez posed together for an epic photo to celebrate their bout; an instant classic.

Students at Baraboo High School in Wisconsin have posted and deleted an image of a group of young men using the Nazi salute.

The image, which was first posted by the Twitter handle @GoBaraboo at 8:56 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, showed a group of over 50 young white males using the Nazi salute while posing for junior prom photos. The photo was posted with the caption “We even got the black kid to throw it up #barabooproud.” The tweet was reportedly deleted a short time later.

In addition to the Nazi salute, which was popularized by the Nazi party in the 1930s and 1940s, one male student is pictured gleefully using “white power okay sign.”

Following the circulation of the image, the school district’s Twitter account retweeted a statement from Lori M. Mueller, one of the school’s administrators.

“The photo of students posted to #BarabooProud is not reflective of the educational values and beliefs of the School District of Baraboo. The District will pursue any and all available and appropriate actions, including legal, to address,” the tweet read.

Furthermore, the Auschwitz Memorial Museum weighed in on the image, saying that it is “so hard to find words” to describe their feelings:

It is so hard to find words… This is why every single day we work hard to educate. We need to explain what is the danger of hateful ideology rising. Auschwitz with its gas chambers was at the very end of the long process of normalizing and accommodating hatred,” Auschwitz Memorial tweeted.

The Baraboo School District has an official anti-discrimination statement posted on its website, which states that the district does not discriminate “on the basis of sex, race, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, religion, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or physical, mental, emotional, or learning disability or handicap in its education programs or activities.”

“The School District of Baraboo does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, religion, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or physical, mental, emotional, or learning disability or handicap in its education programs (including career or technical educational programs) or activities. The School District of Baraboo will not tolerate harassment based on sex. No student or employee of the School District of Baraboo shall be denied fair and equal treatment under the law and the District is required by Title IX not to discriminate in such a manner.”

At this time, the school district in investigating the image and will pursue “any and all available and appropriate actions, including legal” to address the abhorrent image and the students responsible.

Yes, Trumpy Bear is a real product. A ridiculous commercial first was posted to YouTube in July 2017 and it recently became viral once again. On Monday, November 12, the Trumpy Bear official commercial was making the rounds and became a top five trend on Twitter in the United States.

Because of the over-the-top commercial promoting the product, many believed it was not real.

Well, they were wrong.

Snopes stepped in to settle the question on whether the product is an actual thing and it turns out that Texas-based company Exceptional Products really is selling the plush bear that features President Donald Trump’s signature hair and red tie. And hey, it’s only $39.90.

“The fearless, super-plush American grizzly,” the commercial describes the product as. “Even the toughest guys will love Trumpy Bear.”

As an added bonus, Trumpy Bear comes with “a 28-by-30-inch American flag blanket that can be stored in a zipped pouch inside Trumpy Bear himself.”

Jemel Roberson has been identified as the 26-year-old security guard that was mistakenly shot and killed by a Midlothian police officer who was responding to a shooting that occurred inside of Manny’s Blue Room Bar in Robbins, Illinois.

According to reports from witnesses at the scene, Roberson was shot and killed by a police officer around 4 a.m. on Sunday, November 11.

Police were responding to a shooting at Manny’s Blue Room Bar after someone with a gun opened fire inside of the bar. Roberson, a security guard, returned fire and apprehended one of the men involved in the shooting.

Witnesses say a responding officer shot and killed Roberson soon after.

“Everybody was screaming out, ‘Security!’ He was a security guard. And they still did their job, and saw a black man with a gun, and basically killed him,” said Adam Harris, who witnessed the shooting.

Authorities were releasing few details Sunday night. Four other people, including the suspected shooter, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

A spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said Roberson had a valid FOID card, but did not have a concealed-carry license.

In a statement, Midlothian police confirmed two officers from the department responded to the scene of the shooting and that one of them opened fire.

“A Midlothian officer encountered a subject with a gun and was involved in an officer-involved shooting. The subject the officer shot was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital,” Chief Daniel Delaney of the Midlothian Police Department said in a statement.

At this time, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the original shooting inside the bar, while the Illinois State Police Public Integrity Task Force is investigating the shooting and killing of Roberson.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover Roberson’s funeral costs. At the time of this writing, over $4000 have been raised.

The GoFundMe page says that Roberson “was a young man who was greatly loved by all who knew him.”

The trailer for POKÉMON Detective Pikachu, the live action Pikachu movie starring Ryan Reynolds is … well, it’s here.

When POKÉMON Detective Pikachu, the first question that was largely on everyone’s minds was “who asked for this?” A live action POKÉMON movie is one thing, but Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu? It just seemed … odd.

Nevertheless, the movie progressed all the same and now the first trailer is here, and if we’re being honest, the CGI Pokemon look pretty sweet.

In fact, Rob Letterman, the film’s director, compared the visual effects used to create the Pokemon to the character of Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy saying that “they’re technically some of the most high-end visual effects in the world” and that “it’s completely photorealistic, like they are alive and in the movie.”

But as for the content of the movie itself — plot, writing, action, etc — my hopes are understandably low.

While the official synopsis for POKÉMON Detective Pikachu is quite vague — “In a world where people collect pocket-size monsters (pokemon) to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent monster who seeks to be a detective” — it appears the plot will center around Justice Smith’s character uncovering a conspiracy that has resulted in his father going missing.

POKÉMON Detective Pikachu — which stars Ryan Reynolds as the voice titular character and Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton and Ken Watanabe in live-action roles — will be released in theaters May 11, 2019.

Stan Lee, an American comic-book writer, editor, publisher, media producer, television host, actor and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics, has passed away. He was 95.

According to TMZ,  an ambulance rushed to Lee’s Hollywood Hills home early on the morning of Monday, November 12 to bring him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he later passed away. 

Lee is survived by his 69-year-old daughter Joan. Lee’s wife, who was also named Joan, passed away in 2017.

Lee passed away at the age of 95-years-old on Monday, November 12. Lee had various health issues of the course of the last years, such a bout of pneumonia and vision issues.

In the 1960s, the comic book industry was suffering. Characters were growing stale and sales were down. Way down. As a result, Lee was preparing to make a career change to support his wife and family. Shortly before he made the decision final, publisher Martin Goodman tasked him with creating a new superhero team. As Lee already had one foot out the door, his wife pushed him to experiment with stories and characters that interested him, rather than create the same cookie-cutter fluff that was common at the time.

Her advice led to the creation of the Fantastic Four. Lee and illustrator Jack Kirby gave his superheroes character flaws and vulnerabilities, a stark departure from the Boy Scout perfection of Superman and other heroes of yesteryear. That proved effective as the Fantastic Four became an immediate best seller for the company and opened the doors for Lee professionally.

Over the next decade, Lee would have a hand in creating some of the most beloved and iconic characters in comic book history: Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, the X-Men, Daredevil, Doctor Strange and Marvel’s most successful character in history, Spider-Man. Lee and Kirby than cobbled many of these characters together to form The Avengers team.

In the ensuing years, Lee would go on to revolutionize the comic book industry. His “Marvel Method” of production – in which the artists are used as co-plotters for the story and the script came after the images – became the assembly line system of comic book production. He infused Marvel with a friendly tone that ingrained fans and readers to the company far more than their arm’s-length rivals.

In this time, Lee also pushed the boundaries of comic book content. His stories touched on relevant social and political issues such as the Vietnam war, current elections, student activism and drug use. These more serious and grounded stories – along with Marvel’s emphasis on character focus – earned widespread praise from the industry.

During this time, Lee introduced a series of new characters including the Inhumans, Black Panther and comics’ first African-American superhero in the Flacon.

In 1972, Lee stopped writing monthly comic books and assumed the role of publisher.

In 1981, Lee moved to California to California to develop Marvel’s TV and movie properties and expand the company’s brand.

During this time, Lee was credited as a producer on 13 different projects ranging from animated TV shows to live-actions films. The list includes: Pryde of the X-Men (1989), Captain America (1990), Fantastic Four (1994 – 1995), Iron Man (1994 – 1996), Generation X (1996), X-Men (1992 – 1997), Biker Mice from Mars (1993 – 1996), Spider-Man (1994 – 1998), The Incredible Hulk (1996 – 1997), Silver Surfer (1998), Nick Fury: Agent of Shield (1998), and Blade (1998).

It was around this time that Lee transitioned into more of a figurehead role with Marvel, though his influence and would be credited as one of the driving force behind the superhero boom that was about to take place.

In 2000, 20th Century Fox released the well-received X-Men, which arguably helped to kick off the superhero craze entertainment fans currently find themselves in. In the last 17 years alone, Lee has earned a staggering 120 production credits with countless more writing credits and popular cameos in nearly every major Marvel movie.

Though Lee doesn’t have much to do with the publishing side of Marvel or the company’s growing media empire, he received a minimum $1 million a year from the company in perpetuity.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has permanently revoked the charter of the fraternity chapter that nearly killed a girl when a television was pushed off the chapter’s balcony during a summer party.

Back in late June, a video emerged online of a young woman nearly being crushed by a falling TV during a party held at the Kappa Sigma fraternity house. The Kappa Sigma fraternity house is located at 124 Langdon Street in Madison, Wisconsin.

Following a brief investigation, UW-Madison officials suspended the chapter before making their termination permanent on Friday, November 9.

As for why Kappa Sigma’s charter was revoked, the University of Wisconsin-Madison said that the chapter was terminated for violating the Student Organization Code of Conduct.

While the chapter may appeal the decision, they may not attempt to re-register as a student organization for five years, until January 1, 2024.

The suspension of Kappa Sigma at UW-Madison is the latest major Greek life suspension, expulsion, or overhaul in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State, and Penn State have all suspended fraternities for various reasons.

Fraternities have been suspended or expelled across the nation as Greek life organizations and universities attempt to grapple with the pitfalls of hazing, alcohol and drug abuse, and sexual assault.

Just this past year, the University of Wisconsin-Madison previously suspended the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity for five years.

Kimberly Winters has been identified as the 32-year-old Park View High School teacher who was arrested on Friday, November 9, for having an alleged sexual relationship with a student.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Winters, of Sterling, Virginia, was charged with indecent liberties by a custodian when she was taken into custody on November 9.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says that Winter’s alleged sexual relationship with a student occurred between September and November 2017.

The Park View High School website says that Winters is an English teacher who has been with Loudoun County Public Schools since 2010.

While Winters has been charged, authorities have asked anyone with information about the case to call the LCSO at 703-777-1021. At this time, that is all the information about Winters and her alleged crimes.

Winters is just the latest teacher to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges. A woman named Kayla Sprinkles was arrested in North Carolina for similar sexual crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

34-year-old Miranda Nicole Pauley was charged with similar crimes, Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student, Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016 and 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship. 27-year-old Brittany Zamora from Arizona was arrested on similar charges. Keri Hoffman, 35, was also arrested for an alleged relationship with a student. Similarly, 29-year-old Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander and 33-year-old Maren Oates were arrested on similar charges.

More recently, 29-year-old Haylie Smart, 25-year-old Alaina Ferguson, and 32-year-old Laura Bucy were charged with similar crimes.

The Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity chapter at the University of Michigan has been shut down by the school due to allegations of hazing, including alcohol-related hazing.

According to various reports, the fraternity was removed from the university after an investigation revealed that active members took part in “forced alcohol consumption and violent physical hazing.”

MLive reports that the investigation, which was conducted by the university’s Hazing Response Team, found “substantial evidence of dangerous recurring practices within Alpha Sigma Phi’s new member process.”

The University of Michigan’s Interfraternity Council announced their decision to discipline the fraternity on Wednesday, November 7.

“These sanctions result from a Hazing Response Team investigation that found substantial evidence of dangerous recurring practices within Alpha Sigma Phi’s new member process, including forced alcohol consumption and violent physical hazing,” the IFC’s statement read in part.

UM’s Student Organization Advancement and Recognition review process, conducted by the justices of the Greek Activities Review Panel, led the IFC to unanimously vote to affirm the disciplinary actions.

Although the fraternity chapter opted to disaffiliate from the IFC in September, the complaint against it occurred while it was an active member, said Nicole Banks, UM’s assistant dean of students and interim director of Fraternity & Sorority Life.

“The university was investigating a complaint against Alpha Sigma Phi that occurred while the chapter was an active member of the Interfraternity Council,” Banks said in a statement. “Alpha Sigma Phi’s intention to disaffiliate voluntarily did not absolve the chapter of accountability for the pending complaint.”

Alpha Sigma Phi was one of six UM fraternities that decided to disaffiliate from the school in September due to changes in Ann Arbor’s zoning code.

Nicholas Meriwether, a teacher at Shawnee State University, has filed a lawsuit against the school in Ohio federal court last week after the school allegedly violated his religious beliefs. The professor claims that the university punished him for refusing to address a male-born transgender student as a woman.

From the Daily Mail:

He contends they violated his rights by compelling him to speak in a way that contradicts his religious beliefs as a Christian. Meriwether argued he didn’t discriminate and that he treated the student like ‘other biologically male students.’ He unsuccessfully challenged his reprimand in a grievance process.

His statement reads, “In January 2018, a male student demanded that Dr. Meriwether address him as a woman because he identified as such and threatened to have Dr. Meriwether fired if he declined.

“To accede to these demands would have required Dr. Meriwether to communicate views regarding gender identity that he does not hold, that he does not wish to communicate, and that would contradict (and force him to violate) his sincerely held Christian beliefs.”

Alrighty then. Welcome to 2018.

The suit was filed by the Alliance Defending Freedom, which is a Christian conservative law firm in Arizona. The Southern Poverty Law Center accuses the Alliance Defending Freedom of being a hate group for its efforts to recriminalize homosexuality.

Despite the controversy surrounding their punishment of Meriwether, the university says that they respect all religious beliefs.

“We expect that as this case progresses, and details come to light, it will become clear that we made decisions in an effort to both respect our faculty member’s deep-rooted religious beliefs and our student’s right to equal treatment in the classroom,” Shawnee State University said in a statement.

The Pi Beta Phi sorority at Louisiana State University is the latest Greek life organization to be suspended from the school due to hazing.

According to reports, activities at the Pi Beta Phi sorority have been suspended pending an investigation into possible hazing.

In a statement from the national chapter, Pi Beta Phi officials said they “received information which alleged recent events at the Fraternity’s Louisiana Beta Chapter House at Louisiana State University may have constituted hazing.”

“Pi Beta Phi received information which alleged recent events at the Fraternity’s Louisiana Beta Chapter House at Louisiana State University may have constituted hazing. Pi Beta Phi immediately informed university officials and began an investigation. We believe no one was physically harmed and no alcohol was involved. Out of an abundance of caution, Pi Beta Phi conformed with Louisiana law and reported the allegations to local law enforcement. The chapter is cooperating with local and Headquarters authorities to address these concerns. During this time, chapter activities have halted to allow full attention to this matter. In an effort not to compromise the ongoing investigation, Pi Beta Phi refrains from further comment at this time.”

Christian Wargo, a spokesman for the Pi Beta Phi said in a statement that the national organization believes “no one was physically harmed and no alcohol was involved.” However, Wargo said that the organization is releasing limited details at this time because it doesn’t want to “compromise” the ongoing investigation.

The suspension of Pi Beta Phi at the Louisiana State University is the latest major Greek life suspension, expulsion, or overhaul in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State, and Penn State have all suspended fraternities for various reasons.

The investigation of Pi Beta Phi investigation marks the third time this semester a Greek organization at LSU has been suspected for misconduct. In October, the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity was suspended for “very serious” code of conduct violations.

After *literally* years of speculation, HBO has FINALLY confirmed when the eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones will premiere … April 2019.

In a promotional video released on Tuesday, November 13, HBO announced that Winter will be returning to our TV screens in April 2019.

While the exact premiere date was not revealed, given that Game Of Thrones airs on Sundays, it’s safe to assume that the show will premiere on one of the following dates: April 6, April 13, April 20, or April 27.

“Every battle, every betrayal, every alliance, every risk, every fight is all #ForTheThrone,” the promo video reads.

Anticipation for Game Of Thrones return is at an all-time high considering where the show last left off.

Quotes and soundbites from Thrones cast and crew have only added fuel to the fire, as series star Peter Dinklage said that fans are “truly in for it” when it comes to the series’ final season.

That said, while no official trailer for the final season has been released yet, fans should expect to catch the first glimpse of their favorite show’s final season before the end of the year.

Nemiroff Vodka

• 2 ounces Nemiroff Vodka
• ½ ounce Absinthe
• ¾ ounce Lime Juice
• ½ ounce Cinnamon syrup
• 3 ounces Ginger beer
• Glassware: Collin glass
• Garnish: Fresh mint sprig and a ginger candy

Directions: Fill a Boston Shaker three-quarters full with ice. Add Nemiroff Vodka, Absinthe, Lime Juice and the cinnamon syrup, and shake hard for 10 seconds. Fill Collin glass with bar ice and strain the cocktail and topped with ginger beer.

Cinnamon syrup: In a small saucepot add 1cup water and 4 cinnamon sticks and bring to boil. Simmer for 10 minutes, and strain out cinnamon sticks. Bring water back to a boil, add ½ cup sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved.

• 2 ounces Nemiroff Honey Pepper Vodka
• ½ ounce of Green Chartreuse
• ½ ounce Lime Juice
• ¾ ounce Thai bird chili ginger syrup

Rosemary Syrups; Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and ¼ cup rosemary leaves in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let syrup steep, about 30 minutes. Pour syrup into a sterilized glass jar through a mesh strainer to remove rosemary leaves; let cool.

• 1½ ounces Nemiroff Vodka
• ¾ ounce Campari
• ½ ounce Jagermeister
• Glassware: Double old-fashioned
• Garnish: Orange peel

Directions: Pour all the ingredients in a cocktail mixing glass with a half filled with ice and stir till chilled. Strain, using a hawthorne strainer into an double old-fashioned glass with ice and garnish with the orange peel. Hold the orange peel colored side down and twist and squeeze the peel over the about two inches above the cocktail.

Ground and Pound

Nemiroff Vodka

• 2 ounces Nemiroff Pepper Vodka
• 4 drops Absinthe
• ¾ ounce Honey syrup
• ¾ ounce Lemon juice
• 1 ounce Egg white
• Glassware: Coupe glass
• Garnish: Edible printed roaring lion

Directions: Combine all the ingredients into a shaker. Dry shake first, then wet shake and double strain into a coupe glass and garnish.

• ¾ ounce Passion Fruit syrup ( 1:1 Passion fruit puree and Simple syrup )

Directions: Pour all the ingredients except the dry champagne into a shaker half filled ice. Shake vigorously and strain into champagne flute.
