The Canyon Police force has witnessed a tragedy that includes a college student jumping off a moving car, resulting in the student losing his life on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018. After an investigation that has been going on for days, police finally released reports on what happened.

What Happened?

Treston Johnson was killed when he jumped off a moving car, resulting in serious head injuries.

According to News Channel 10, a group of college students who are in the fraternity Alpha Tau Omega went on to participate in a game where the main goal is to have pledges bring members of the fraternity to the lodge. The goal of this was to build deeper bonds between pledges and brothers from the fraternity.

The rules go along the lines of allowing the member to do anything to avoid being taken to the lodge. It was believed that Johnson thought the event had started and jumped out of the car.

When the police arrived at the scene, they saw Johnson lying in the complex’s parking lot. He was then transported to Northwest Texas Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

What Did The Police Investigation Say?

Police investigators said that they have determined there was no evidence that stated Johnson being forcefully pushed out of the car, nor was he struck from another moving vehicle. It was determined that when Johnson leaped out of the car, his head against the impact of a hard surface led to his death. Police said an autopsy was scheduled to be performed in Lubbock on Thursday and the police department would then go ahead to report their findings to the Randall County District Attorney’s office.

Who Is Treston Johnson?

Treston Johnson is a 22 years old student attending West Texas A&M University, located in Canyon, Texas. He was affiliated members of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and he is also the President of the Residence Hall Association. The association is currently planning a candlelight vigil to honor his life on Friday, November 9th, from 6:30pm-8:30pm between the FAC and classroom center at WTAMU.

University of Kentucky campus police and FBI came together in a rare, joint mission to arrest a student on Thursday, November 8, 2018, with connections to a terrorist threat. The suspect has been identified to be Haily Loriane Duvall and she will be charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and falsely reporting an incident according to Courier-Journal.

What Happened?

University of Kentucky campus police was contacted by Duvall Wednesday afternoon where she reported threats were being aimed at the White Hall Classroom Building. UK Police Chief Steve Monroe said that Duvall spread fake reports regarding threats she found that was being passed around on Snapchat. He also stated to UKNOW that while safety officials never believed the threats were credible or substantive, making a threat such as this one is a serious offense.

Although no screenshots were posted, the Kentucky Kernel reported that some screenshots said “White Hall is about to be white ashes along with every a**hole student in it,” one screenshot of the snaps even read. “Thirsty Thursdays are about become ticking time bomb Thursday,” another screenshot of the Snapchats said. Students who have seen the screenshots have edited and distributed with additional vulgar and threatening language. According to Kentucky, more snaps were found. “One threat mentioned ‘Just wait I’ll f*** up this whole dam school” with a bomb emoji,” police said in Duvall’s citation. Another message indicated the person who made the threats was “ready to die,” court records show.

Duvall reported to the police that after seeing this, she went immediately to notify them. Kernel reported,

“I definitely haven’t gotten a lot of information back other than what’s been posted publicly to all UK students and faculty,” Duvall said. “I’m kind of in the blue about it which is not very reassuring for students because I know a lot of students— I’m getting dozens of text messages, I’m in group chats with thousands of students— and it’s clear that a lot of these students are very concerned about their safety.”

Despite what Chief Monroe said their disbelief with the threat, he said that police force immediately informed the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force to identify a location in Lexington where they believed possible threats are coming from. They later on successfully tracked the IP address back to her and took actions to apprehend her.

Duvall has been placed in the Fayette County Detention Center and she will be charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and falsely reporting an incident according to Courier-Journal. Her current bond is $1000.

Duvall’s pastor is expected to post bond for her. Her pastor spoke to LEX 18’s Leigh Searcy and informed Searcy that Duvall had a troubled upbringing in foster care.

Benjamin Craig Matthews, a 39-year-old man from Arkansas, has been arrested after a series of violent threats directed at CNN anchor Don Lemon. The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office announced that Matthews was taken into custody. The CNN headquarters in Atlanta reportedly received more than 40 threatening calls between October 31 and November 2 all from the same number, according to Arkansas Online.

Matthews has been charged with five felony counts of terroristic threatening, nine misdemeanor counts of harassing communications, and four misdemeanor counts of second-degree terroristic threatening.

“Audio recordings of the phone calls indicate that all of the calls were made from the same male subject,” according to the affidavit. “A person who has personal knowledge of Benjamin Matthews agreed to listen to samplings of the phone calls. The person positively identified the voice as that of Benjamin Matthews.”

Reports indicate he also made threatening messages to MSNBC, U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, attorney Michael Avenatti, Washington Speakers Bureau, and Planned Parenthood.

The report states:

In several calls, Matthews threatened a CNN journalist described in court documents as DL.

In one call, according to the affidavit, Matthews asked the CNN switchboard operator, “Could I be directed to DL’s dead body hanging from a tree?”

Another time, Matthews asked if his call could be directed to “pipe bombs for DL.”

In another call, Matthews spoke of “bloody pictures of DL cut up in small pieces, like the movie Saw,” according to the affidavit from Sgt. Brad Hurst with the Baxter County sheriff’s office.

Matthews was taken to Baxter County jail with bail set at $15,000 and is currently awaiting trial.

This is just the latest instance of CNN being a target of threats. At the end of October, the CNN studios in New York City were the target of a serial pipe bomber who sent suspicious, explosive-laden packages to the network and other prominent Democrats around the country like Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Senator Kamala Harris, and prominent donor George Soros.

The suspect, 56-year-old Donald Trump enthusiast Cesar Altieri Sayoc, was arrested and charged with five federal crimes, including interstate transportation of an explosive and illegal mailing of explosives.

For soldiers who are risking their lives every day in the military to protect our freedom, liberty, and wellbeing here in the States, many people and organizations are ramping up efforts to show appreciation for their service and finding ways to give back. One program under the name of Yellow Ribbon may have found the best way.

What Is Happening?

University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business is offering free graduate-level business programs to eligible veterans in order to help them catch up with what’s going on in the financial market and equipping them with the knowledge to support their career goals.

Brad Rosenwinkel, Executive Director of Daniels’ Graduate Admissions and Academic Services told Our Community Now, “We want veterans in our programs. Veterans make great students. They have a great skillset. They offer a diverse and global perspective in the classroom. They are great leaders, team members and they represent our brand very well.”

This Yellow Ribbon Program is a provision of the post-911 GI Bill that was made to help students attend private schools at reduced or no cost at all.

Thank you Veterans! Plan ahead with education benefits through the Post 9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon – Be aware of program updates for 2019-2020 school year. Let's help Veterans reach their education goals affordably. #VeteransDay2018 #MyCollegeCorner https://t.co/7CFSI9TBHJ

— @InviteEducation (@InviteEducation) November 7, 2018

On Veterans Day 2016, Chancellor Chopp from DU announced an increase in Yellow Ribbon starting in the Fall of 2017. This increased funding is set to help student veterans achieve their degree at DU by assisting with the financial burden of higher education.

But the Yellow Ribbon may not just be the sole reason why veterans should apply for an MBA or degrees of any sort at this university. This school also has a Student Veterans Association that is committed to serving veterans, current soldiers and their families. By creating a safe, social yet professional climate, they are driven to spread the awareness and understanding of veteran issues through a plethora of services, leadership, and scholarship opportunities.

“We need our veterans to be thoroughly educated,” said DU Chancellor Rebecca Chopp. “We double our resources and the government doubles its commitment to these veterans. We hope that by providing our veterans with more resources we will also attract more veterans to the University of Denver.”

Yair Rodriguez capped off UFC Fight Night 139 with a remarkable knockout over “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. In a fight that he was trailing, Rodriguez landed a no-look uppercut elbow at the buzzer to score the hail mary win.

Rodriguez’s victory, which came at 4:59 in Round 5, tied a UFC record for the latest stoppage in history.

It was a perfect way to cap off the promotion’s 25th-anniversary event.

Following the fight, the UFC sent out a photo of the official judge’s scorecard which you can see above.

As you can see, Chan Sung Jung was well on his way to victory before the last-second knockout. Judge Sal D’Amato had The Korean Zombie ahead 39-37 along with judge Derek Cleary. Mark Van Tine, meanwhile, had the fight even at 38-38.

Ultimately, the scores did not matter with Rodriguez’s elbow beating the bell.

Yair Rodriguez knocks out The Korean Zombie with a no-look elbow at UFC Fight Night 139 in Denver

FOX Sports 1

Yair Rodriguez capped off a busy night of fights at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado in spectacular fashion with his win over “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in the main event of UFC Fight Night 139. The UFC could not have asked for a better way to end its 25th-anniversary event in the city where the promotion first got its start.

In a back-and-forth fight that Rodriguez was trailing on the judge’s scorecards, it came down to the final seconds — literally.

With the final bell approaching, Rodriguez and The Korean Zombie met in the center of the cage and exchanged a flurry of strikes before Rodriguez ducked, and threw a no-look uppercut elbow that landed right on the button. The Korean Zombie’s momentum carried him into the elbow and he immediately slumped to the canvas unconscious.

The official stoppage came with one second remaining in the fight at 4:59 of Round 5.

If you missed out on the incredible finish, we have you covered.

WATCH: Tucker Carlson Accused Of Assaulting ‘Gay Latino Immigrant’; Denies Allegations

FOX News host Tucker Carlson gets in a verbal argument at Virginia Country Club.

YouTube/Michael Avenatti

FOX News host Tucker Carlson has been accused of assault by a client of attorney Michael Avenatti, who has been a thorn in the side of prominent Republicans since rising to stardom as the attorney for Stormy Daniels. Avenatti shared video over the weekend that shows an angry Tucker Carlson inside of a Virginia Country Club.

“We are investigating an alleged assault on a gay latino immigrant committed by T. Carlson and/or members of his inner circle at a club in VA in Oct. It likely includes underage drinking in violation of VA law. Link to a portion of the incident,” Avenatti wrote on Twitter.

“We are attempting to locate additional witnesses and to identify those depicted in the video. In particular, we need assistance identifying the balding man that grabs the man seated at the bar. We anticipate charges being filed. Anyone with knowledge, pls contact us.”

Carlson can be seen yelling on camera after an incident where Avenatti claims Carlson’s son threw wine on a “gay Latino immigrant.”

The FOX News personality admitted that his son threw wine on another man, but claims the incident happened after the man directed gross insults towards Carlson’s daughter.

Here is video that Avenatti shared:

Carlson responded in a statement to the Daily Mail. His statement read:

‘On October 13, I had dinner with two of my children and some family friends at the Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia. Toward the end of the meal, my 19-year-old daughter went to the bathroom with a friend. On their way back through the bar, a middle aged man stopped my daughter and asked if she was sitting with Tucker Carlson. My daughter had never seen the man before. She answered: ‘That’s my dad,’ and pointed to me. The man responded, ‘Are you Tucker’s whore?’ He then called her a ‘f**king c**t.’

‘My daughter returned to the table in tears. She soon left the table and the club. My son, who is also a student, went into the bar to confront the man. I followed. My son asked the man if he’d called his sister a ‘wh**e’ and a ‘c**t.’ The man admitted he had, and again become profane. My son threw a glass of red wine in the man’s face and told him to leave the bar, which he soon did.

Of course, Avenatti had a response.

“@TuckerCarlson – your stmt about what transpired is an absolute lie. Your daughter nor your son were called those things. The man never admitted it. Your son committed assault and battery. You committed assault (learn the difference). Your friend” committed assault and battery (on video). You are the aggressor in the video as is your friend. The man at the bar sits there calmly. Numerous witnesses contradict your claim of innocence. Your daughter was drinking underage in a bar with your assistance and knowledge. You were intoxicated,” Avenatti continued.

“You told the man to “go back where you came from” before the video starts. And if you were so innocent, why didn’t you disclose it weeks ago as you recently did in connection with the protest at your home?”

The alleged victim also issued a statement through Avenatti.

Here is a statement from my client regarding the incident with Tucker Carlson and Tucker's fabricated version of events. As a father of two teenage daughters myself, I find it disgraceful that Tucker seeks to justify his behavior by falsely hiding behind his family. #Coward pic.twitter.com/j9uX7pRdyP

— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) November 11, 2018

The man on the receiving end of the wine splash to the face is allegedly named Juan. He had his membership revoked from the Country Club following the incident. Juan has been described as an immigrant from Argentina who is a board member of The Women’s Initiative in Charlottesville.

Carlson’s home was recently the target of an Antifa mob that shouted outside while his wife was in the home. He has previously never discussed this incident from the Country Club until Avenatti made it public knowledge.

And knowing Avenatti’s love of the spotlight, this story will likely not be going away anytime soon.

We Have Our First Official Look At ‘Toy Story 4’

toy story 4 trailer

Pixar

Disney/Pixar has released the first official look at Toy Story 4!

With the release of Toy Story 4 in 2019, the franchise will span almost 25 years.

The original Toy Story was released in 1995, with Toy Story 2 premiering in 1999. The third film, Toy Story 3, was released in 2010.

Speaking about the fourth film in the franchise, Tom Hanks, who voices Woody, said that “the emotional range of those movies has become more and more deep and profound and affecting” and that the ending of Toy Story 4 marks “a moment in history.”

Not only that, but if franchise co-star Tim Allen is to be believed, Toy Story 4 is apparently SADDER than Toy Story 3, which is no easy feat.

Allen, who famously voices Buzz in the Toy Story franchise, appeared on the CBS daytime program The Talk earlier this year and discussed how emotional the ending of  Toy Story 4 is:

“Yes, I gotta resist getting emotional. I don’t want to give it away, but this is an incredibly great story,” he said. “…It is so emotional, it’s so funny, it’s so big, the idea they’ve come up with, I’m startled,” Allen said.

“I couldn’t even get through the last scene. I would love to be a Washington leaker. I just can’t do it. I can’t give any more away. They’ve got great characters but a couple of scenes toward the end were really hard to get through.”

Toy Story 4 is expected to be released in theaters on June 21, 2019.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office

Kelly Greene, a 24-year-old school teacher at Lakewood Elementary School in Florida, was arrested on Thursday, November 8, on charges of grand theft.

According to the Pinellas County sheriff’s office, Green was arrested on Thursday, November 8 after she allegedly was caught stealing from the Ulta Beauty Store in Seminole, Florida. Police said that the grand theft allegedly occurred on Sunday, October 14.

Furthermore, the Pinellas County sheriff’s office said that Ulta Beauty
Store employees called deputies to report the theft and store surveillance video showed a woman stealing multiple beauty, facial and hair products from the store.

Pinellas County sheriff’s detectives said Greene’s thefts netted a total of $537 worth of product.

On Wednesday, November 7, police released the surveillance video footage to the public on social media. Following the release of the footage, a school resource officer form Pinellas County Schools recognized Greene and reported her to police.

Following the release of the security camera footage, Greene admitted to Pinellas County detectives that she was the suspect seen in the video committing the theft. She was arrested and taken to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

Greene has been charged with one count of grand theft. At this time, her employment status with Lakewood Elementary School is unknown at this time.

At this time, no further information about Greene has been released.
