Gwen Stefani a pop icon and fashion mogul made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Not only with her music but her line of clothes, fashion accessories and more. Now let’s see how much all that hard work paid off for her. How much money has this legend made with all her endeavors?

Gwen Stefani Net Worth: $120 Million

Early Life: 1969-2000

Gwen Renee Stefani, born on October 3, 1969, in Fullerton California was one of four children. Stefani quickly realized for passion for fashion at a young age when she was taught to sew by her mother. Then came her love of music. Eric Gwen’s older brother played a big part in this discovery. He was an aspiring musician himself was heavily involved in ska music. This was when Gwen Stefani’s No Doubt band was created.

When started as a backup vocalist to lead singer John Spence. After his untimely passing, she became the lead singer of the ska style band. After years of performing at clubs and opening for countless other bands, No Doubt was signed to Interscope record label. The band released their debut album in 1992. After the failure of their first album, Gwen didn’t see this band being a long-term career move.

Stefani’s brother Eric left the band in 1995. This is when Stefani decided to give her music dream one more try, releasing No Doubt’s sophomore album Tragic Kingdom, that same year as well. Gwen found solace in her painfully close to her lyrics and the fans noticed. No Doubt became a sensational overnight with Gwen as their front man. The Tragic Kingdom album rose to the top of the charts by early 1996.

The album was driven by Gwen’s powerful feminist anthem called “Just a Girl“. A song that was focused on how women are perceived by the world and how unfair that judgment is. Once Gwen Stefani had the attention of an audience and a loyal fan following, there was no stopping her.

From Music to Fashion: 2000-Present

After having huge success with Gwen’s band No Doubt, she decided in 2001 one it was time to try her hand at a solo career. She released her first solo album titled “Love.Angel.Music.Baby” in 2004, after which she was received tremendous praise for. Gwen made people believe in the music she wrote and the emotions she felt when she sang the song.  Once her solo album was a success she decided to multitask her focus on both music and fashion by starting her own clothing line titled “L.A.M.B” Which initials stood for her album title

In 2014, Stefani decided she wanted to try something new and help new aspiring singers find their nitch on the NBC hit show The Voice. Which was a singing competition show, where she met her boyfriend Blake Shelton. Stefani will continue to advance her multi-faceted career path as the years go on. I can’t wait to see where her career takes her next!

Gwen Stefani started with a love of music and passion for fashion and turned her dreams into reality and cold hard cash! She gives a new meaning to her classic hit “Rich Girl.

College Take Massive Leap Into The Future, Will Start Teaching Classes With Holograms

A presentation of the holographic technology

Youtube

A college with a history dating back hundreds of years ago has renovated its system of teaching through the help of innovative technologies. It has always been a discussion for a while to bring more advanced technology into the classroom to better supplement the lessons taught and now, it is finally becoming a reality.

Imperial College Business School is set to be the first higher-education institution to teach lectures using projected holograms.

What Is Happening?

Imperial College London is looking to improve the college experience for its students by changing the format of lectures. With almost everything being digitized in the modern world, Imperial College is looking to incorporate video conferencing in lectures.

The conventional way of teaching where professors are standing in front of the classroom will soon be obsolete. Developed by Toronto-based telepresence company AHRT Media, this new technology will allow professors to be out of the classroom during lectures, and in place, will be a three-dimensional projection of the professor themselves. But this hologram won’t be the same as the ones that are widely used today.

It was announced by E&T that this technology will take on a new angle, “using light and mirrors to project an image onto a reflective and transparent surface (such as glass or stretched film) set at an angle above a stage.” It is a creation of large realistic projections that only appears to be holographic. It has previously been used to pay homage by private parties to create realistic projections of famous artists Tupac Shakur and Michael Jackson.

Beaming in! Our @ImperialBiz students will be the first in the world to have live lectures delivered to them via hologram https://t.co/z1jmZpC6TD pic.twitter.com/M57p1NXel2

— Imperial College (@imperialcollege) November 2, 2018

With this, students will still be able to talk to the holographic professors as the professor will be speaking live from studios around the world, regardless of the distance. This proves to benefit speakers who often have to travel around to give their speeches, as they now have the option not to.

Dr. David Lefevre, director of Imperial College Business School’s Edtech Lab significantly advocates for this technology. He believes that this will tear down the limitations of traditional teachings.

“Rather than replacing or reducing real-life lectures, the hologram technology will provide greater flexibility for academics by enabling them to continue teaching while traveling, ensuring consistency and quality for students. The technology will also widen the scope for Imperial to invite global leaders and influencers from industry to give talks to students, therefore enriching the learning experience.”

— Imperial Business (@ImperialBiz) November 1, 2018

Another upside to this will be its ability to be ubiquitous in classrooms around the world. It has the capability of connecting multiple audiences simultaneously as well as having discussion panels to supplement the theme. In other words, it is like a beefed up version of Skype.

With this, more and more colleges will be able to utilize talents around the world for their purpose of teaching its students. The ability to bring the world together has never been more effortless.

Adair County Sheriff’s Office

Katrina Kraus, a 35-year-old substitute teacher in Missouri, has been arrested and charged after she was accused of having a sexual relationship with an underage teenage student.

Kraus, from Memphis, Missouri, has been charged with second-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy, both of which are felonies.

According to authorities, Kraus had consensual sexual intercourse with the teen on “multiple occasions” between June 2017 and October 2017.

Additionally, police say that Kraus’ contact started when the unidentified boy began when he was just 14-years-old. One of the alleged six sexual encounters happened at the Cone Cemetery in Schuyler County.

Following her arrest, Kraus was booked into the Adair County Law Enforcement Center with a bond set at $15,000.

Kraus is just the latest teacher to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges. A woman named Kayla Sprinkles was arrested in North Carolina for similar sexual crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

Similarly, 29-year-old Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander and 33-year-old Maren Oates were arrested on similar charges.

More recently, 29-year-old Haylie Smart, 25-year-old Alaina Ferguson, and 32-year-old Laura Bucy were charged with similar crimes.

Blake Shelton Net Worth 2018: How Much is Blake Worth?

By now, Blake Shelton has more or less declared himself the god of country music and nobody seems to dispute his claim. The man’s been slinging #1 hits since the early 2000s and has been charming the masses through various competition shows for years. He’s pretty much established himself as either the guy your mom wishes you were or the guy your mom wishes you married. But the true weight of someone’s worth isn’t the feelings they inspire in others, it’s measured in cold, hard cash.

Blake Shelton Net Worth As Of 2018: $60 Million

Turns out you can make quite a bit of money by making popular country songs, touring for most of the year, starring on one of the top reality shows in the world and being named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive 2017. Having steel-blue eyes and a square-jawed face that looks like it stepped clean out of a John Wayne western probably doesn’t hurt. This is a drastic update from his net worth in 2013, which was listed as being a mere $18 million. The current number comes to us from sources such as Bankrate, Daily Mail, and Celebrity Net Worth.

Early Life

Born on June 18, 1976, young Blake Shelton got his start by taking guitar lessons from his uncle in his hometown of Ada, Oklahoma. He displayed an early aptitude for songcraft and by the age of 16 had won a Denbo Diamond Award, a prize best known for having been won by Blake Shelton when he was only 16. After high school, Shelton skipped college in favor of running to Nashville and fulfill his calling as a singer. He quickly got a job at a music publishing company. It was there that Shelton met Country Music Hall of Famer Bobby Braddock, who would go on to be Shelton’s most ardent supporter. After working with Shelton for a few years, Braddock got his protege signed to Giant Records in 2001.

2001-2011

Shelton’s early success was somewhat hindered by industry wrangling. His first project for Giant Records was the single “I Wanna Talk About Me,” but the company didn’t see the song making a profit and shifted it to Toby Keith, thinking it would be good filler between a few of his bigger hits. Keith’s version was a #1 hit single. Shelton did get his debut single, “Austin,” recorded, but Giant Records collapsed shortly afterward and Shelton was folded into the parent company, Warner Bros. Records. After release, “Austin” sat at #1 on the Billboard Country chart, immediately letting Warner Bros. know just what a hot commodity they had on their hands. They helped Shelton to release his self-titled debut album, produced by Braddock and featuring several top 20 hits. It went certified platinum within the year.

Shelton released his second album, The Dreamer, in 2003 and married his long-time girlfriend Kaynette Gern that same year. By this point, between his own accolades and Braddock’s full-hearted endorsement, Shelton had enough cred to do guest vocals for other country artists, cover classic country songs and have more creative freedom at the record label. He released Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill in 2004, landing him his third #1 hit single and second platinum record. Shelton began his small acting career in 2005 with a small cameo role in the TV movie Christmas Blessing, which starred Neil Patrick Harris and Rob Lowe.

He got divorced in 2006, only a year before he released his third album, Pure BS. That was also the year he began his lucrative career as a TV personality, appearing as a judge on Nashville Star and Clash of the Choirs. Somehow, Shelton was able to juggle both his roles on television with his passion for music and released his fifth album, Startin’ Fires in 2008. The album featured many collaborations with other country music stars, including Miranda Lambert who Shelton later married in 2011 and Trace Adkins, whose duet with Shelton, “Hillybilly Bone,” reached #1. By this point, Shelton had had so many hit songs and was known as such a prolific worker in the industry that he was able to release his first greatest hits album, Loaded: The Best of Blake Shelton, in 2010, only nine years after debuting. As an added bonus, he was also invited to join the famed country music cabal the Grand Ole Opry soon after.

2011-Present

In 2011, Shelton landed his most lucrative gig to date: a judging role on the singing-competition show The Voice. As if to prove his credentials to the non-country music audience who’d never heard of him before, he released Red River Blue in the same period, featuring the #1 hit “Honey Bee.” Through The Voice, Shelton was not only able to perform for a more diverse audience, but he was given the opportunity to grow new talent and collaborate with veteran performers from a variety of genres. In his time on the show, Shelton has helped a record six contestants take the crown.

Shelton released his first Christmas album, a passion project entitled Cheers, It’s Christmas in 2012, topping both the Country and Holiday charts. His next studio albums, Based on a True Story and Bringing Back the Sunshine, would follow in the coming years. In 2015, Shelton divorced from Miranda Lambert and started dating his Voice co-star Gwen Stefani. He released If I’m Honest only a year later. Only a month after the album’s released, Shelton was denoted his own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, all but guaranteeing him a spot in the hall at some point in the future.

CU Boulder Fraternity Suspended While University Investigates Drugging Allegations

The Sigma Pi fraternity at the University of Colorado-Boulder has been ordered to cease all operations by its national organization while the university and police investigate claims that women were drugged on campus.

According to reports, five women have claimed that they were drugged at off-campus parties in October at CU Boulder. Despite the suspension, it is not clear if the fraternity has any connection to the alleged drugging.

In addition to the university, the Sigma Pi Fraternity said that they are conducting their own investigation and is cooperating with police.

The Denver Post reported that the fraternity was shut down and that “an alleged assault was reported at the Sigma Pi house … the same night the first two drugging victims were hospitalized.”

However, the vice president of the Sigma Pi chapter disputed that report, telling FOX31 that frat has not been shut down but has been told to “cease and desist” all activities as the investigation continues.

The suspension of Sigma Pi at the University of Colorado is the latest major fraternity or sorority lawsuit, investigation, suspension or closure in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Wake Forest University, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State University, and Penn State have all suspended fraternities in the wake of hazing and alcohol deaths.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who was shut down for hazing and the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State, West Virginia University, and Penn State University have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

Grand Valley State University Bans Alcohol At All Greek Life Events

Grand Valley State University, located in Allendale, Michigan, has temporarily banned alcohol at all fraternity and sorority functions. The decision comes after nine of the university’s fraternity chapters were sanctioned and/or suspended over the past five years due to various code of conduct violations.

In addition to the ban on alcohol, the university has required the school’s Greek life organizations to form a task force of students, faculty, and staff that will examine issues within and expectations among fraternities and sororities.

Grand Valley State University officials said that the ban will remain in place until further notice.

“What we have noticed is a frequency of events that include alcohol that have resulted in sanctions, probation or charter revocation on the part of the national organization. We have decided to take pause and try to get together with our students, faculty and staff to talk about what we can do to prevent further issues like this and improve the community,” Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Loren Rullman told News 8.

Additionally, Dean Of Students Rullan said that while the university will not be checking parties for alcohol, they hope that the fraternities and sororities “will police themselves.”

The decision to ban alcohol at Grand Valley State University Greek life events is just the latest major university decision made in an effort to curb alcohol-related injuries and deaths in recent years.

“Samantha was a great leader for our program and more importantly a great person,” K-State rowing coach Patrick Sweeney said in a statement. “She was so well-liked by all of her teammates and had such a big impact on our program both on and off the water. We are all still in a state of shock, and we will continue to keep her family in our thoughts and prayers.”

“We are all deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Samantha,” K-State athletic director Gene Taylor said. “The Scott family will remain in our prayers during this time, and we will provide all of the necessary support we can for their entire family and also the members of our rowing program as they cope with this devastating loss.”

A senior architectural engineering major, Scott earned academic All-Big 12 honors last year while leading the team’s 1v8 and 1v4 boats.

GoFundMe page has been created to assist Scott’s family with medical bills and funeral expenses. Additionally, they hope to establish a scholarship in Scott’s name.

At the time of this writing, the GoFundMe for Scott’s family has raised approximately $5000 of the $10,000 goal.

Rory French has been identified as the shaved-headed racist in a shocking video that shows him repeatedly using the N-word and threatening to kill an African American restaurant employee in Washington.

According to reports, the incident — which was partially recorded on video — occurred at the Denny’s restaurant in Parkland, Washington on October 9.

The charges filed against French state that the 41-year-old shouted racial slurs and threatened to kill an unnamed African American male Denny’s employee.

Before authorities arrived, French was subdued by an unnamed good samaritan in the restaurant, who restrained French until police officers arrived to take him into custody.

Despite the presence of police officers, French “still wasn’t cooperative” and assaulted one of the responding officers, Pierce County Sheriff’s Detective Ed Troyer said.

via KIRO7:

French allegedly spotted the employee on a break seated at a corner table in the restaurant and confronted him calling him the n-word. He then threatened the man, yelling, “you are going down n*****”, chasing the victim and continuing to shout racial slurs including, “I am going to kill you n*****”, according to a probable cause affidavit.

“He was actually going after somebody because of their race, but then it became a fight with anybody and anything,” said Sheriff’s Detective Ed Troyer.

“When it’s race motivated, that makes it a crime,” said Troyer. “And he met all those circumstances. Whether he was in his right frame of mine, we’ll have to wait and see.”

A report from The News Tribune says that the good samaritan, who had just “sat down to eat his chicken-fried steak breakfast” saw French yell “at the cook for no reason” before he was forced to intervene to prevent the potential attack.

French, who was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation, has been charged with malicious harassment, assault, and resisting arrest. It is unclear when his next court date is scheduled for.

Scott Beierle, 40, has been identified as the man who shot and killed himself after he fatally wounded two people and injured another three in a shooting at Hot Yoga Tallahassee in the Florida capital on the evening of Friday, November 2.

According to Tallahassee authorities, Beierle died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and the four victims were rushed to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. In total, three people died: two victims and the shooter.

The Tallahassee Police Department said that one victim has died, one is in critical condition and the three others are in serious condition. A Tallahassee city spokesman says that the shooting appears to be related to a domestic dispute.

via Tallahassee Democrat:

Alex Redding was in the Bar at Betton downstairs when a woman ran in hyperventilating followed by a man with blood on his head. Redding said two to three other people entered the bar seeking assistance and said that a tall man with a beard was inside the Hot Yoga Studio acting strange and began shooting during the class.

The man with blood on his head told the patrons he tried to stop the shooter but was pistol-whipped before the shooter then shot himself.

The incident immediately interrupted the gubernatorial campaign of Andrew Gillum, who tweeted he was “deeply appreciative of law enforcement’s quick response to the shooting at the yoga facility in Tallahassee today.”

The shooting at Hot Yoga Tallahassee is just the latest in a string of deadly shootings that have plagued the United States in recent years and comes just six days after Robert Bowers killed eleven elderly worshippers at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Top 5 Cheapest & Tastiest College Snacks

In college, we have two problems that we just can’t control. One, spending money and two, eating. When you are in college money is tight, yet somehow we are always spending our money on something useless. Then comes the food. You hate the dining hall, so you go out and eat which is never a good option. You want to find a happy medium where you are easily satisfied with the food you are eating because it tastes good and your wallet is happy because it’s not empty. Here are the top cheapest and tastiest college snacks you can get at any convenient store for a reasonable price.

Ice Cream

One of the tastiest desserts, one that comes in different flavors. There are many types of brands with ice cream, we suggest getting the cheapest one like a Ben & Jerry’s or even a store brand ice cream. It’s not the most substantial meal since it is ice cream. But, it’s a craving for every college student. A sweet taste of your favorite flavor can make you forget you are in college until you finish the pint and have to go to the gym the next morning. But, don’t think about the consequences until you’ve actually finished the pint of ice cream. You won’t care about them while you are eating.

Ramen Noodles

The go-to meal for any college student. Add a little soy sauce, and you have a high sodium meal. But, who really cares about the calories? No one does in college. Ramen noodles should be in our basic food groups. There are some veggies in there, that counts. But, for beating hunger, Ramen noodles are always the go-to for any meal. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, even dessert.

Goldfish

— Shape Magazine (@Shape_Magazine) October 28, 2018

It really is the snack that smiles back. Like ice cream, you can get goldfish in different flavors. All of which are exploding with flavor in your mouth. You can’t help but finish a full bag of the small fish crackers. You can never have just one goldfish, not even just one handful. You need so much more. Every college student needs goldfish in their life.

Peanut Butter & Jelly

The childhood meal everyone needs to have in their life. Savory meets sweet. Something so simple as jam and peanut on bread puts a smile on your face. And every college student needs a smile on their face. Cheap ingredients that create the best sandwich you have ever had. And here is something that will blow your mind. Take your peanut butter and jelly sandwich and use a Panini press on it or stick it in the microwave. You will thank us when you try it.

Popcorn

Add a movie to this snack, and you have every college student’s weeknight. The smell, the taste, and the idea of watching a movie with it are much more intriguing than finishing your history paper. We don’t suggest you eat this snack and watch a movie instead of doing your homework, but a little procrastination couldn’t kill you. Just don’t blame us for failing a class.
