For the first time in their illustrious history, Apple is holding a hardware announcement event at the Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York.

Insiders expect Apple to unveil new iPad Pros, a refreshed MacBook Air, updated iMacs, updated AirPods, and the return of the Mac Mini.

Additionally, Apple is expected to announce the release of iOS 12.1, which will see the introduction of Group FaceTime, new emojis, live Depth Control in-camera previews, and Dual SIM support for Apple’s latest iPhones. Reports and rumors indicate that the 2018 iPad Pro models are expected to adopt an iPhone X-style design with no Home button, slimmer bezels, and a TrueDepth camera system that will enable Face ID for biometric authentication.

Maria Ciuffo, better known as “Ria Barstool”, is an American media personality and radio host who is best known as the co-host of the Barstool Sports radio show and podcast “Chicks In The Office” alongside Francesca Mariano.

Ciuffo — who was on born July 26, 1997, — first joined Barstool Sports as in intern in 2016 upon their move to New York City. Stephanie Carafa, a 32-year-old middle school teacher in Lodi, New Jersey, has been arrested for allegedly having sex with and sending nude photos to a teenage student. Carafa taught at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Lodi, New Jersey.

According to police, sent sexually explicit photos and videos to a teenage student who is under the age of 16. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lodi Police Department said that after further investigation, they discovered that in addition to sending sexually explicit photos, Carafa also engaged in an inappropriate sexual relationship with the teenage student.

Carafa, the daughter of Lodi mayor Emil Carafa Jr., has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated criminal sexual conduct.

Carafa is just the latest teacher to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges. A woman named Kayla Sprinkles was arrested in North Carolina for similar sexual crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

34-year-old Miranda Nicole Pauley was charged with similar crimes, Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student, Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016 and 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship. 27-year-old Brittany Zamora from Arizona was arrested on similar charges. Keri Hoffman, 35, was also arrested for an alleged relationship with a student. Similarly, 29-year-old Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander and 33-year-old Maren Oates were arrested on similar charges.

More recently, 29-year-old Haylie Smart, 25-year-old Alaina Ferguson, and 32-year-old Laura Bucy were charged with similar crimes.

Joshua Yannuzzi, a theater student at West Chester University, has been charged on some very disturbing charges. FOX 29 Philadelphia reports that the Chester County District Attorney’s Office has announced they will be charging Yannuzzi for hiding a phone and recording women in public bathrooms and other locations in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.

Police say Yannuzzi Gorilla-taped his iPhone beneath public bathroom sinks and recorded video more than a dozen times across three states, according to CBS 3 Philadelphia’s Joe Holden.

Where Is West Chester University?

West Chester University is located in Chester County, Pennsylvania, about 25 miles west of Philadelphia. The mother of a Sacred Heart University junior who choked to death after participating in a 2017 charity pancake-eating contest on campus is suing the university, saying that it was at fault for sanctioning the event and not having medical staff on hand, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Caitlin Nelson, 20, started to choke minutes after the contest began on March 30, 2017, and died days later at a New York hospital.

What Happened?

Rosanne Nelson has sued Sacred Heart University on October 29, 2018, in Bridgeport state court over the death of her 20-year-old daughter Caitlin Nelson. The lawsuit seeks an undisclosed amount of money and accuses the school of approving the contest despite the dangers and failing to provide adequate medical personnel.

According to Hartford Courant, Nelson started to choke minutes after the contest began in March 2017, and died days later at a New York hospital. Fairfield police and medics who responded within minutes were not able to clear her mouth and throat of pancakes. The blockage deprived Nelson of oxygen for an extended period and caused serious brain damage.

“Caitlin’s family is bringing this case to expose the dangers associated with amateur eating contests and to help prevent other families from having to endure this type of preventable tragedy,” Kati Mesner-Hage from Bridgeport law firm Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder said, who represents the family in the lawsuit filed in Superior Court. “These contests are significantly more dangerous than people realize and it’s critically important for the public–especially educational institutions–to understand that certain foods are safer than others and a modicum of forethought can literally save lives.”

An autopsy determined Nelson died of asphyxia due to obstruction of her airway by a lump of food.

According to the lawsuit, Fairfield police officers who tried to save Nelson found her mouth “was compacted with pancakes, almost to her teeth” and that pancake paste in her mouth was “like concrete.” They were not able to clear away the pancakes to restore Nelson’s ability to breathe.

A spokesperson for Sacred Heart declined to comment because of the litigation, ABC 7 reports.

The lawsuit suggests ice cream and whipped cream are safer for amateur competitive eating contests because they melt before they can block a person’s airway.

Who Is Caitlin Nelson?

Caitlin Nelson, 20, was a junior student of Sacred Heart University, a private Roman Catholic university located in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Nelson was originally from Clark, New Jersey. According to social media, Nelson was studying Social Work while attending Sacred Heart.

Ava DuVernay is reportedly set to direct a Prince documentary for Netflix. DuVernay, who previously directed 13th and Selma, has the blessing and cooperation of Prince’s estate to work on the project which means there will be previously unseen interviews, footage, photos, recordings and unreleased materials that will be shared with DuVernay for the project, according to Deadline.com.

“Prince was a genius and a joy and a jolt to the senses,” DuVernay told Deadline. “He was like no other. He shattered every preconceived notion, smashed every boundary, shared everything in his heart through his music. The only way I know how to make this film is with love. And with great care.

“I’m honored to do so and grateful for the opportunity entrusted to me by the estate.”

It appears that the project has been a long time coming.

According to the Deadline report, Prince reached out to DuVernay directly before his passing on April 21, 2016 with the hopes of working together. Now, she has been entrusted with the task of bringing Prince’s life to the silver screen. DuVernay has made multiple visits to the Prince estate throughout the year for her research in the early stages of the project.

There is no timetable for the project’s completion or eventual release.

As for DuVernay, she is not only staying busy with the Prince documentary but with a four-part series for Netflix centered around the Central Park Five. The Central Park Five project, which will take a close look at the five Harlem teens who were wrongly convicted of the brutal rape of a jogger in New York City, is set to debut next year.

Jennifer Walsh, a special education teacher at Sycamore High School, has been indicted on charges following an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student. According to reports, Walsh was indicted for sexual battery for an incident involving a student, according to Hillary Lake of WCPO. School superintendent Frank Forsthoefel says that the “inappropriate behavior” did not occur at the school.

The victim was a 17-year-old female student, according to reports.

Walsh, who was also a coach for the Junior Varsity girl’s lacrosse team and was a Division I lacrosse player at the University of Cincinnati, was placed on leave in September and has since resigned. The 26-year-old Walsh has officially been charged with two counts of sexual battery, according to documents from Hamilton County court that were obtained by the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“Montgomery Police is investigating allegations that former teacher Jennifer Walsh engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a student,” Forsthoefel told parents in a statement. “Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and that the alleged inappropriate behavior did not occur at school.”

The incidents occurred from May 2018 to August 2018, according to court documents.

“We find the reported allegations to be shocking, upsetting, and take them very seriously,” Forsthoefel said. “We are committed to fully working with the Montgomery Police Department in their investigation and to take appropriate action to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.”

Walsh posted $1,000 bond on Tuesday, October 30.

“We have strict policies against this type of alleged behavior that are clearly communicated to all staff,” Mallory Bonbright, chief public relations and communications officer, said in a press release. “We are committed to fully working with the Montgomery Police Department in their investigation and to take appropriate action to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.”

Infamous Winter Hill Gang mob boss Whitey Bulger has died at the age of 89-years-old. He was reportedly found dead in his cell shortly after arriving at the Hazelton Penitentiary in West Virginia.

On Monday, October 29, the Federal Bureau of Prisons online inmate log indicated that Bulger arrived the USP Hazelton Penitentiary in West Virginia, which is known as a “rough” prison and houses approximately 1,200 inmates.

This morning — Tuesday, October 30 — the president of the Local 420 of the American Federation of Government Employee — the union that represents the workers at the USP Hazelton — indicated that a male prisoner was killed overnight.

Prior to these reports, Bulger’s health was understood to be deteriorating and reports indicated his death appeared to be “imminent.”

Investigative journalist Michele McPhee first tweeted the exclusive report at 12:06 p.m. EST on Tuesday, October 30, seemingly confirming that the slain individual at Hazelton was Bulger. McPhee is a published author who has written the books Maximum Harm, Mob Over Miami, A Professor’s Rage, A Date With Death, and When Evil Rules.

A community college in Chester, Virginia has received a large sum of money to help upgrade new technologies and its industrial electricity and mechanical maintenance programs.

What Happened?

John Tyler Community College has received a grant of $1.33 million to expand and upgrade its programs in electricity and mechanical maintenance. With the school’s goal of helping students earn a certificate in a year or less, as well as an associate degree, this grant has proven to be a help that will benefit the college in the long run.

This grant was offered by Altria Group Inc., a multi-billionaire company that made its fortune selling tobacco, cigarettes, and other related product.

“We are thankful for Altria’s generous gift,” President Edward Raspiller said in a statement. “This grant gives our college the resources needed to expand access, as well as enhance our programs that train people for high-demand jobs.”

President Raspiller plans to create and set up a second electricity lab on its Chester campus, as well as upgrading equipment in the current electrical lab. Currently, the school has 114 students enrolled in that class, but with that grant, that will allow them to enroll an additional 40 to 60 per year.

With programs that promote trade work, it poses as a way to solve Virginia’s shortage of skilled employees in mechanics. Almost 60 percent of Virginia companies report a lack of qualified candidates to fill current and future manufacturing job vacancies, the college reported.

The new mechanical maintenance equipment is expected to delivered and ready for use in the spring semester of 2019.

The new electricity lab and upgrades to the equipment in the current electricity lab will be complete in August. The college also said it expects the training program for High School students to start in the fall semester of 2019.

Stephanie Carafa, a teacher at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Bergen County, was arrested for sending sexually explicit photos and videos to a student under the age of 16.

32-year-old Carafa’s father is a mayor of Lodi, New Jersey, the Daily Mail reports.

What Happened?

Stephanie A. Carafa, 32, was arrested on Saturday, October 27, after an investigation found she allegedly had sexual contact and shared explicit pictures with a student, according to Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.

After the initial complaint a joint investigation by the special victims unit from the prosecutor’s office and the Lodi Police Department revealed that Carafa had also “engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct” with a student under the age of 16, the prosecutor’s office said.

Carafa is the daughter of Lodi Mayor Emil Carafa, according to NorthJersey.com. The mayor told the website that his daughter is “the love of my life, as is my family.”

“There is a process in this country, and that process is the court of law,” the mayor said. “I know that people in their human nature are inquisitive, and I understand that. I respect their inquisitiveness, but my main concern right now is my daughter.”

As NorthJersey.com reports, Mike Nardino, a Board of Education trustee and cousin of Stephanie Carafa, said he could not comment, as it is a personnel matter. He referred questions to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Carafa now faces charges of one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and one count of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact. She is scheduled to have a detention hearing on Friday, November 2 at 9 A.M. A spokesperson for the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said the complaint involves one person at this point, but the investigation is ongoing.

Carafa, 32, is a teacher at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Lodi, Bergen County. She was charged with exchanging explicit photos and videos with a minor, acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said Monday, October 29.

Carafa is also the daughter of Lodi Mayor Emil Carafa, who was re-elected in 2017. He is the mayor of the township where his daughter taught.

Carafa was hired in 2012 and earns $49,281 a year, state pension records indicate.

NYPD mobilizing for what is being called a ‘confirmed device’ by the Rockefeller Center On 6th avenue and 50th Street, New York City. Major evacuations were underway following the discovery of the package.

The New York Police Department gave the all-clear around 3:56 p.m. local time, stating that the suspicious package turned out to be a toy grenade, not a pipe bomb.

The reports of a suspicious package being found at Rockefeller Center in New York City comes a week after suspicious explosive packages were sent in the mail to prominent Democrats by 56-year-old Florida resident Cesar Sayoc.

Fotios “Freddy” Geas, a 51-year-old mafia hitman who was serving a life sentence for killing a mob boss, has been identified as the man who led “the deadly attack on Whitey Bulger,” according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Bulger, the former leader of the Winter Hill Gang in South Boston, was found dead in his prison cell after being transferred to a new maximum security prison. Bulger, who was bound to a wheelchair, was found beaten to death with a lock wrapped in a sock on Tuesday, October 30. Bulger also had his eyes partially gouged out, according to reports.

TMZ added that it Bulger’s mouth was filled with blood and that Geas and his accomplices attempted to cut out Bulger’s tongue, which is standard for mob assassinations.

Geas is said to have instigated the attack because he “hated rats” and men who abused women.

Bulger had been cooperative with the FBI for years and was known for being an informant, while also having a history of violence against women.

“Freddy hated guys who abused women. Whitey was a rat who killed women. It’s probably that simple,” private investigator Ted McDonough told the Boston Globe.

Geas was in prison for the murders of former Genovese mob boss Adolfo “Big Al” Bruno and one of his associate’s, Gary D. Westerman, back in 2003.

What Happened?

Bulger was reportedly found dead in his cell at the Hazelton Penitentiary in West Virginia during the night between Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30. At this time, the exact manner in which Bulger was killed is unknown.

The Boston Globe and Boston Herald reported on Tuesday that James “Whitey” Bulger, 89, an infamous Boston mobster who’s serving a life term, had just been moved to the Hazelton Penitentiary. Bulger was convicted of killing at least 11 people.

Bulger had been moved from a Florida prison to one in Oklahoma in the past week. No reason was given for the moves or the latest transfer to Hazelton, one of the federal system’s roughest prisons with more than 1,200 inmates.

An email message left with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons main office wasn’t immediately answered, and a phone message left with a prison official also wasn’t immediately returned. An FBI official referred inquiries to the Bureau of Prisons.

Investigative journalist Michele McPhee initially reported that Bulger had been “killed”, citing sources.

The Boston Red Sox will be celebrating their 2018 World Series championship with the people of Boston on Wednesday, October 31.

Led by first-year manager Alex Cora, the Red Sox beat the NL Champion Los Angeles Dodgers 4 games to 1, otherwise known as a ‘gentleman’s sweep.’ Deserving of the title, the Red Sox’s were the MLB’s best team during the regular season, winning the NL East with a record of 108-54.

35-year-old journeyman outfielder and first baseman Steve Pearce was named the MVP, going 4-for-12 and driving in eight runs during the Fall Classic.

The Red Sox 2018 championship marks their fourth World Series title in the last 14 years and their third title in the last 10 years.

The mother of Alasdair Russell — a former USC student who killed himself after suffering head injuries while pledging — is suing the fraternity responsible.

Back in October 2016, Russell attended a party at USC’s Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house, where he was pledging. According to a lawsuit — which was first obtained by TMZ — active fraternity members forced him to drink in excess “to the point of passing out”, which caused him to fall, hit his head, and lose consciousness.

The lawsuit continues to state that after Russell passed out, fraternity members “discouraged him from getting medical attention out of fear it would expose Phi Kappa Psi’s conduct, including but not limited to supplying alcohol to minors and engaging in hazing activities.”

Alasdair’s mother claims that after he son complained of concussion-like symptoms, fraternity brothers gave him “Adderall and cocaine.”

Finally, Russell’s mom claims that as a result of the head injury he sustained while pledging, Alasdair’s personality changed, he dropped out of school, and he was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric facility. Then, on April 1, 2017, he took his own life in Miami, Florida, while wearing a tuxedo.

In the suit, Alasdair’s mother says after he passed out, frat brothers discouraged him from getting medical attention out of fear it would “expose PKP Local’s conduct, including but not limited to supplying alcohol to minors and engaging in hazing activities.”

The next day, Alasdair complained of concussion-like symptoms — head pain, vomiting, blurry vision and wooziness. His mother claims PKP bros gave him Adderall and cocaine to keep him in the game … as far as pledge duties and partying.

According to the suit — obtained by TMZ — over the next few months, his personality changed, he dropped out of school in January 2017, and he ended being involuntarily committed … presumably to a psychiatric facility. Then, on April 1, he took his own life on a beach in Florida … while wearing a tuxedo.

Now, the Russell family is suing the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity for negligence.
