UFC 229 took place last weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission has finally released its list of medical suspensions from the pay-per-view event. The event was headlined by the highly-anticipated lightweight championship bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor and capped off with a post-fight brawl that spilled into the crowd after Nurmagomedov retained his title.

McGregor received a minimum medical suspension of 30 days, while Khabib was not listed with any injuries.

The lengthiest medical lay-offs belong to Anthony Pettis (nasal fracture), Dominick Reyes (left leg), Jalia Turner (nasal fracture), Scott Holtzmann (right hand and foot), and Alan Patrick (orbital fracture) who could all miss up to six months if they are not cleared by a doctor.

This is pretty gross for those who don’t like pumpkin guts or vomiting. However, it’s probably one of the best ideas for pumpkin carving. By taking the pumpkin guts and laying it around and out of the mouth of the pumpkin you have yourself a barfing pumpkin. Just, don’t leave it out for too long, you will attract unnecessary critters and a nasty smell that does not smell like pumpkin pie.

Pieter Hanson, a 32-year-old Navy veteran and a student at the University of Central Florida, found himself became a viral meme on Twitter because of this one tweet from his own mother Marla on Saturday, October 6.

“This is MY son,” began the mother’s viral post, which also featured a picture of Hanson posing in his Navy uniform. “He graduated #1 in boot camp. He was awarded the USO award. He was #1 in A school. e is a gentleman who respects women. He won’t go on solo dates due to the current climate of false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind. I VOTE. #HimToo.”

What Happened?

Marla posted the now-deleted tweet on the day Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court, after a confirmation process that featured accusations of sexual misconduct. Before the tweet was deleted, it has already received thousands of likes, retweets and comments. The response was rife with mockery, spawning a variety of “This is MY son” memes.

And Hanson himself has a lot to say, too.

“That was my Mom. Sometimes the people we love do things that hurt us without realizing it. Let’s turn this around. I respect and #BelieveWomen. I never have and never will support #HimToo. I’m a proud Navy vet, Cat Dad and Ally. Also, Twitter, your meme game is on point,” wrote Hanson’s tweet.

He considered himself a supporter of the #MeToo movement as he told The Washington Post. Nor is he fearful of “solo dates.”

“It doesn’t represent me at all,” said Hanson, who is studying entrepreneurship with plans to open his own brewery according to The Washington Post. “I love my mom to death, but boy… I’m still trying to wrap my head around all this.”

Hanson asked his grandmother and younger brother Jon to communicate his wishes with his mother that she remove the tweet. The mother removed her full account.

But despite the mother’s good intentions, that didn’t stop Twitter from piling on and taking up the cause. By the evening on Monday, October 8, #HimToo started trending on Twitter:

Who Is Pieter Hanson?

Hanson is a 32-year-old Navy veteran who is currently studying entrepreneurship at the University of Central Florida. He became the viral meme #HimToo because of his mother Marla’s now-deleted post on Twitter.

“No one teaches you how to talk someone through this situation,” Hanson’s best friend Sarah Nich told The Washington Post, who is a beer brewer in the Orlando area. “It’s bizarre, and the Internet’s weird. And it was so unfortunate because it’s the opposite of who Pieter is as a person.”

According to Wired magazine in a story tracing the evolution of the hashtag #HimToo, the hashtag wasn’t always used this way. #HimToo originally began as a way for men to voice their experiences as victims of sexual assault or harassment alongside the #MeToo movement. It next morphed into a way to shame men who had been accused of sexual assault, as in #HimToo.

Two fraternities at the University of Southern California have been put on suspension and are banned from hosting any social events while the school investigates alleged hazing violations.

According to USC’s Fraternity and Sorority Leadership Development site, the Sigma Alpha Mu and Phi Sigma Kappa fraternities were placed on interim suspension on Friday, October 5, due to allegations of hazing.

Following the handing down of their suspensions, Sigma Alpha Mu and Phi Sigma Kappa were forced to cancel the parties they were planning to host that night.

Sigma Alpha Mu Vice President Matthew Parker told The Daily Trojan that a notice sent by the Assistant Vice Provost for Student Engagement Monique Allard cited violations of hazing regulations and health and safety codes as the reasons for the suspension.

The university also provided the following statement to The Daily Trojan:

“Organizations that are being investigated for alleged violations of the code of conduct can be instructed to suspend or modify social activities pending results of an investigation.”

The suspension of Sigma Alpha Mu and Phi Sigma Kappa at USC is the latest major fraternity or sorority lawsuit, investigation, suspension or closure in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State have all suspended fraternities in the wake of hazing and alcohol deaths.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who was shut down for hazing and the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State, West Virginia University, and Penn State University have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

5 USC Fraternities Sue The University For Violating Their First Amendment Rights

The FEMA Headquarters in Washington D.C.  was temporarily placed on lockdown on Tuesday, October 9, due to unconfirmed reports of a person with a gun.  FEMA employees were told to shelter in place as a precaution.

Update: New reports indicate that there was a carjacking suspect believed to be near the Holiday Inn hotel, resulting in the FEMA HQ being placed on lockdown as a result.

According to reports, there is a very large police presence outside and inside the building. The nearby Holiday Inn hotel was also placed on lockdown by police, according to witnesses on the scene.

At this time, the initial reports of an armed person have not been confirmed and no injuries have been reported.

The reports of a lockdown at the FEMA HQ and Holiday Inn in Washington D.C. is just the latest in a string of evacuations, lockdowns, bomb threats, and shootings that have plagued the United States.

Over the course of the past few years, shootings and lockdowns such as these have been a scourge upon the country and people have struggled with coming up with a solution. Lockdowns have become all too common as a means of protection when students and faculty are in danger and today is no different.

This incident follows similar incidents at Dodd Middle School in Connecticut, Windham Public Schools also in Connecticut, Pacoima Middle School in Los Angeles, Millennium Middle School in Florida, and US Grant High School in Oklahoma, which are just some of the places where events such as this have occurred.

Some children with severe food allergies across the U.S. are forced to stay home from school due to the nationwide EpiPen (Epinephrine Auto-Injectors) shortage, KIRO-TV reported.

Chiquita Morris, the mother of five-year-old Eden, said her son started kindergarten at Spanaway Elementary School in Spanaway, Washington when she was told by the school that Eden could not return until he has an EpiPen.

For more than a year, Morris said she has been trying to get her hands on the $700 injector, but with no luck.

“Yes, I understand I need to get one, but there’s nothing I can do,” Morris told KIRO-TV.

Insurance Company Refuses To Cover The Pricey EpiPen

During a nationwide EpiPen shortage, Morris is among those scrambling to find these epinephrine auto-injectors used to treat severe allergic reactions.

Morris said she had been calling multiple pharmacies every day but has had no luck while her son is missing school.

Worse to the matter, when EpiPens were available, her insurance company refused to cover the $700 cost and she couldn’t afford it. Then, due to the shortage, she couldn’t even find one.

“I called my pharmacy, and they were like: ‘Oh no, we’re not gonna have any,'” Morris told CBS News.

She kept trying to call the pharmacies each day with no luck until her story was aired on CBS News. That was when she received a phone call from a representative at Mylan, which distributed the EpiPen.

“She found out where there is one available….I was so happy, blessed and thankful that someone took the time to hear our voice. Someone took the time to help my son,” Morris said.

With as many as two students affected by this in every classroom in the U.S., parents are calling on schools to have backup EpiPens–or generic versions–on hand until their pharmacies can fill prescriptions for them.

KIRO-TV looked up the Bethel School District website, and under the health services page, it wrote: “State law requires children with life-threatening conditions to have a medication and/or treatment order on file prior to the start of school.” But Morris thinks the district should do more to help kids stay in school.

“You’re discriminating these children because they don’t have a product available,” she said.

It’s A National Crisis

As of this spring, there has been a nationwide shortage of EpiPens and generic forms of the autoinjector. According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), this is due to issues in manufacturing and “pharmacy-level supply disruptions.”

This includes a shortage of components needed to make the EpiPen as well as “new processes” put in place after a Missouri facility failed to investigate product malfunctions, Hartsburg News reported.

Pharmacists said many prescriptions sit unfilled for months until the makers of the EpiPen, Pizer, can send them shipments–and that patients often are on a waiting list for the injectors.

Doses expire after a year, but because of the shortage, the FDA extended expiration dates in August for some adult doses of the EpiPen, which means that in December, injectors that had original expiration dates in August will need replacement, Daily Mail reported.

The efficacy of the product may be good for longer, but the FDA stated that the current research only shows it’s effective for a year to and a year and a half.

However, the EpiPen Junior, meant for children who weigh 66 pounds or less, did not fall under this extension.

“We’re in a national crisis with this shortage,” Pediatrician and Clinic Chief at the University of Washington Medical Center Doreen Kiss said. “When the decisions are, do we go to school and take a risk of having an exposure versus being excluded for a few months, it’s a very difficult situation.”

Morris believes the district needs to do more to help parents keep their children in school.

“I understand the health concern but I believe the school should have backup EpiPen as well, and not just parents,” she said.

On October 9th, 2018, The Lagos State University dismissed three college staffs after an investigation found that they were guilty of sexual harassment.

The three Professors are Dr. Odubunmi Ayoola Sunkanmi, Associate Professor in Economics; Dr. Ogunwande Isiaka Ajani, Associate Professor in Chemistry and Dr. Gbeleyi Emmanuel Orilade Associate Professor in Anatomy.

Reports have cited that Dr. Odubunmi had invited a female student who failed her courses into his offices to write an exam. When the female student arrived, Dr. Odubuni proceeded to harass her. Oblivious to the fact that the student was in fact equipped with a secret camera, Dr. Odubunmi was caught redhanded by LASU securities and a non-governmental organization. The camera was monitored by LASU security operatives in a nearby office.

According to a source, Dr. Odubunmi first gave out the test and when the girl began to write, Dr. Odubunmi locked the door and began to undress. He touched the student inappropriately and as soon as the student showed resistance, Dr. Odubunmi yelled and attacked her.

For Dr. Gbeleyi, he was accused of injecting sedates to female students before having unconsented sexual intercourse.

The acting Coordinator for Center for Information Press and Public Relations (CIPPR), Mr. Adeola Adekoyam, could not give details of the decisions by the Prof. Adebayo Ninalowo-led Governing Council. He only said that his department was expecting the decision extract of the meeting.

Adekoyam said, “Yes, the Governing Council took the decision on Thursday. The council division is yet to furnish my office with details. I don’t have an idea whether it is sack, dismissal or termination of appointment.”

However a few days later, The Lagos State University confirmed the dismissal of the three for sexual harassment and misconduct.

Adekoya then made a statement saying that the University has zero-tolerance for sexual harassment and general indiscipline. He said the decision to fire the three professors were in line with its mission to promote the welfare of students in the institution.

An anti-Muslim named ACT for America (hate group has plans to take its message to college campuses around the country, with its first stop set on the University of Akron.

ACT President and founder Brigitte Gabriel stated “Islam has created and unleashed an uncontrollable wave of hatred and rage on the world and their terrorist attacks are the purest form of the religion. “It’s not radical Islam,” she said. “It’s what Islam is at its core.”

With the agenda to push Muslims out of the country, ACT for America captivates conservative groups such as the Akron chapter of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), a conservative student group that is present in many high schools and colleges.

This isn’t the first instance in where ACT for America has tried to amass followers on college campuses. In 2014, ACT has attempted to establish student chapters that counter the Muslim Student Association with Gabriel calling them a Muslim Brotherhood that is trying to destroy America. She asks for money to fund her group’s conferences that prepares students “to launch an ACT for America chapter at their university and start recruiting more students to get involved in protecting America.”

Other hate groups such as the neo-Nazi Vanguard America have also tried to spread their influence on college campuses, using speeches and flyers to promote their agenda. Some flyers include “Imagine a Muslim-free America” and featuring an image of the World Trade Center towers.

Who is the ACT for America?

ACT for America is a pro trump advocacy group that is dedicated to its agenda to “combat the threat of radical islam.” It is the largest Anti-Muslim organization in the United States. The organization has long tried to lobby state and federal officials seeking to impact national security policy to match their agenda. They also tried to introduce David Yerushalmi’s anti-foreign bills(commonly known as the anti-sharia bill) to limit the amount of Muslims in the United States.

James Gunn — the director of Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, who was fired by Disney-Marvel as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after disturbing tweets from his account about rape and pedophilia emerged — is reportedly in talks to write and direct the next installment in the Suicide Squad franchise.

Further reports indicate that Gunn’s version of Suicide Squad — which originally starred Will Smith and Margot Robbie –will not be a sequel, but a “whole new take.”

Gunn, who directed the wildly successful first two installments of Guardians Of The Galaxy, was fired from the third film in the franchise in July after disturbing tweets made by Gunn were uncovered.

David Ayer, who directed the original Suicide Squad, was never expected to return to the franchise due to severe creative differences with Warner Bros. Gavin O’Connor, the director of The Accountant, was originally attached to direct the project and wrote the previous draft of the script.

Following Gunn’s departure from the Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise, all of the film’s stars — such as Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn and Michael Rooker — all signed a letter in support of the director.

Flint School District in Michigan finally got the help they need for safe and clean water fountains for their students, thanks to Elon Musk.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO made a bold statement on Twitter in July 2018, wrote that “Please consider this a commitment that I will fund fixing the water in any house in Flint that has water contamination above FDA levels. No kidding.”

Musk Donates Over $480,000 To Help Clean Tainted Water

According to CNN, the Flint School District announced on Friday, October 5 that a $480,350 donation from Musk will be used to install ultraviolet filters at all the Flint school and administration building. The project is expected to be completed by January 2019.

“The UV water purification method within the water filtration systems will disinfect all lead and bacteria coming from the water pipes to allow students to drink from and fill up water bottles from school water fountains,” the city of Flint wrote in a press. The Flint Public School System also sent out a tweet thanking Musk.

“Thank you @elonmusk and @MuskFoundation for investing in the health/future well-being FCS Students!,” the tweet wrote. “Your generous donation will help us replace ALL water fountains w/NEW WATER STATIONS & WATER FILTRATION at ALL SCHOOLS! Looking forward to our burgeoning partnership! More to come!”

“We are deeply grateful for the generosity and the budding partnership between Flint Community Schools, the Musk Foundation and Elon Musk,” Flint Community Schools Superintendent Derrick Lopez told CNN. “The new water filtration systems will be instrumental in helping our students return to the normalcy of what should be a fundamental right: having access to safe, clean water from water fountains in their school.”

Flint Water Crisis

Four years ago, lead and other toxins were found to be training Flint’s water supply, which has been called the Flint Water Crisis. Since then, the whole community has struggled with water contamination problems.

Back in 2011, in order to reduce the water fund shortfall, the city of Flint announced that a new pipeline would be built to deliver water from Lake Huron to Flint. The problem began in 2014, after the construction delays, the city turned to the Flint River as a water source. Soon after the switch, residents said the water started to look, smell and taste funny. However, city and state officials denied for months that there was a serious problem, according to NPR.

By that time, supply pipes had sustained major corrosion and lead was leaching into the water. The city switched back to its original water supply late in 2015, but it was too late to reverse the damage to the pipes.

High blood lead levels are especially harmful to children and pregnant women, and can cause “learning disabilities, behavioral problems and mental retardation,” as NPR cited the World Health Organization in 2016.

Until 2018, more than a dozen lawsuits including several additional class-action suits, were filed against Michigan and the city of Flint, as well as various state and city officials and employees involved in the decision to switch the source of the drinking water. The range of remedies sought included monetary compensation for lead poisoning and refunds for water bills.

The UFC 229 aftermatch between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov has made national headlines. After the UFC champion jumped into the crowd to confront McGregor teammate Dillon Danis, McGregor found himself in the middle of another altercation inside of the cage.

In the initial video of the incident, it appeared that two members of Team Khabib jumped into the cage as soon as Nurmagomedov left and that they began punching McGregor. That led to many saying McGregor did nothing wrong which led to Nurmagomedov and his teammates holding all of the blame. Nurmagomedov also had his $2 million purse withheld by the commission until a disciplinary hearing.

The good news for McGregor is that his purse was not withheld, but the bad news is that he also is now facing a complaint by the Nevada State Athletic Commission because of new evidence. The new video shows McGregor striking first before two other men enter the cage and begin their assault.

And, if the words of NSAC chairman Anthony Marnell are proven to be true, he could find himself in big trouble.

“It’s always both,” Marnell told Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com. ” We could do one or the other, but at least in the chair’s mind, I think the commission will be entertaining a recommendation from the attorney general that will include both.

“We’re taking a really hard look at that gentleman. We know exactly who he is and where he is. I have to let the attorney general determine — is that trespassing, disturbing the peace? That was a serious action and it deserves a serious consequence.”

This entire saga is nowhere close to being over.

Khabib Nurmagomedov snapped following his win over Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229 on Saturday, Oct. 6. Nurmagomedov jumped out of the cage and went directly for McGregor’s jiu jitsu coach and Bellator MMA fighter Dillon Danis with a flying kick off of the apron shortly after choking out the Irishman to retain his lightweight championship.

Nurmagomedov indicated that the reason he lost his cool was because of the laundry list of insults directed at him, his father, his faith, and his country leading up to the fight.

“This is not my best side. He talked about my religion, he talked about my country, he talked about my father,” Nurmagomedov said at the post-fight press conference. “He came to Brooklyn, he broke bus, and nearly killed two people. So why do people still talk about me jumping over the cage? I have shown respect.”

But now we know why Danis was a specific target after the UFC 229 bout.

According to TMZ Sports, a ringside witness says that the final straw for Nurmagomedov was when Danis uttered these three words: “f**king Muslim rat.”

Nurmagomedov is a proud Muslim and is very open about his faith. Previously, McGregor had taken some jabs at Nurmagomedov’s religion and dating back to a few years ago McGregor head coach John Kavanaugh even mocked Nurmagomedov for not taking a fight during Ramadan. Hearing those words from someone you already had bad blood with explains a lot about why Nurmagomedov would take actions that seem out of his normal character.

However, while TMZ reports that Danis said those words, Kavanaugh claims Danis never said a word.

“He actually didn’t say anything. Now I was standing beside Dillon, I didn’t see what he did but I could hear. So he didn’t say anything. Now when I watched it back I’ve seen he kind of beckoned him on, you know, just stupid end-of-fight stuff. But I don’t think it justified that level of response,” Kavanaugh said, via the New York Post.

“Now maybe, there was something else in the lead-up. Dillon is a bit of a troll online, so there’s probably a build-up of other stuff. Like I said, it wasn’t that big of a deal to me, what Khabib did, it just really wasn’t.”

Whatever led to the melee, it was an ugly scene that took away from an otherwise incredible event. And despite any justification from either side of the battle, both men find themselves with complaints from the Nevada State Athletic Commission and must now wait for disciplinary hearings to learn whether they will be fined or suspended for their actions.

After not making an appearance in the Octagon for almost two years, Conor McGregor returned to the UFC in typical McGregor fashion — loud, arrogant, and boisterous — for UFC 229.

But despite all of his in-ring fighting skills (and out-of-ring promotion skills), McGregor was second best this time arond as he was essentially dominated by Khabib Nurmagamedov, who remained undefeated and retained his light heavyweight title.

However, luckily for MMA fans, McGregor won’t be disappearing back into the wealthy wilderness this time, as he signed a six-fight deal with the UFC prior to the bout.

But who could McGregor possibly take on next? The last time McGregor lost a fight — against Nate Diaz at UFC 196 — he was back in the Octagon against that same opponent just six months later. Will he take that same route with Khabib or will he try and get a few fights under his belt before trying to take down The Eagle?

Max Holloway

McGregor has previously fought and defeated Max Holloway at Fight Night 26 on Saturday, August 17, 2013.

Since that time, Holloway has become one of the most respected fighters in the business and is the current featherweight champion, which is the weight class that McGregor originally made a name for himself in.

Anthony Pettis

While McGregor has no previous history or beef with Anthony Pettis, mixed martial arts analysts have predicted that a fight between the two would be an electric one.

Pettis was most recently defeated by Tony Ferguson at UFC 229, who has since turned his sights on McGregor or Nurmagamedov.

Tony Ferguson

Ferguson — who headlined the co-main event at UFC 229 by defeating Anthony Pettis — has won eleven straight fights at 155 pounds and deserves a shot at fighting for the Undisputed Lightweight Championship. While Ferguson may be next in line to fight Nurmagamedov, a bout with McGregor down the line is not outside the realm of possibility.

Plus — similar to most fighters trying to make a name for themselves in the UFC — Ferguson called out McGregor following his UFC 229 victory.

McGregor has always been adamant about completing a trilogy with Diaz, and while Dana White has shot down the idea in the past, it’s only a matter of time before this one happens.

“I’ve got that trilogy with Diaz. I will give that man that rematch. He gave me a rematch. I will give him a rematch,” McGregor said in the lead up to UFC 229.

Khabib Nurmagamedov

Just hours after his UFC 229 defeat, McGregor took to Twitter to say “Good knock. Looking forward to the rematch.”

Now, while the post-fight actions of Nurmagamedov and his team complicate a potential rematch between the two, McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh has already indicated that Conor was “screaming and shouting” for a rematch “within minutes”.

Jacob K. Javits Convention Center might have closed its doors and cleaned up after one of New York City’s most iconic event, but the remnants of it still linger in everyone’s mind and on the internet.

More than 220,000 people made their way to Comic-Con, an event which celebrates movies, television, pop culture, and, of course, comics. Comic-Con is also loaded with works of talented people and a place where many get to showcase their works.

But Comic-Con is perhaps most known for the creative costumes that range from superheroes to villains to other things. People’s cosplays this year were fashioned together so flamboyantly that NYC’s 2018’s Comic-Con was undoubtedly another successful year.

James Gunn Reportedly In Talks To Write & Direct 'Suicide Squad 2'

Lauren Pesce is the fiancee and soon-to-be-wife of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.

Sorrentino, who was born on July 4, 1982, and is most commonly known as “The Situation”, is a reality television personality and star who has appeared on all six seasons of the MTV reality show Jersey Shore from 2009 to 2012. Sorrentino also appeared in the 2018 reboot of the show, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

In Fall 2018, Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months in prison for tax evasion. At the time of his sentencing, his lawyer Henry E. Klingeman released the following statement:

“Mike accepts the court’s decision and looks forward to marrying his college sweetheart, Lauren Pesce and moving forward together after serving his sentence. He anticipates coming back stronger as an individual and couple in the same healthy mindset that he has had for the last 3 years. He and Lauren are both so thankful for everyone’s support and prayers!” Klingeman said.

Pesce and Sorrentino are reported “college sweethearts” and will get married before Sorrentino begins his prison sentence.

At the time of this writing, Pesce and Sorrentino’s wedding date have not been announced.

Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office

Michelina Aichele, a 29-year-old English teacher at Montgomery High School in New Jersey, has been accused of sending naked photos to an unidentified teenage student.

According to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Aichele was arrested on Friday, October 5, after officials from the Montgomery High School reported inappropriate communication between her and a 17-year-old student.

Police say that when the victim was interviewed, he revealed that he received nude photos from Aichele over the course of several months. Additionally, the student claimed that Aichele engaged in sexually explicit conversations with him through social media sites and email.

She has since been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was being held at the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing,

Aichele works as an English teacher at the school, earning $70,306 in 2017, according to state records. Her LinkedIn profile states she has been teaching English at the high school since April 2012.

A December 2006 Courier News report lists Aichele as a senior guard on the Manville High School girls basketball team. An April 2007 Courier News report lists Aichele has a senior shortstop on the Manville High School girls softball team.

“This teacher was suspended and removed from the high school on Oct. 4, 2018 while the investigation was ongoing. The teacher’s suspension shall be continued pending a resolution of the criminal charges, and the district will continue to cooperate with the Somerset County Prosecutor and the Montgomery Township Police Department,” Superintendent of Schools Nancy H. Gartenberg said in a Oct. 9 letter to the Montgomery Township School Community.

Authorities are asking anyone with additional information on Aichele is asked to call the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit (908) 231-7100 or Montgomery Township Police at (908) 359-3222.

Aichele is just the latest teacher to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges. A woman named Kayla Sprinkles was arrested in North Carolina for similar sexual crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

34-year-old Miranda Nicole Pauley was charged with similar crimes, Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student, Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016 and 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship. 27-year-old Brittany Zamora from Arizona was arrested on similar charges. Keri Hoffman, 35, was also arrested for an alleged relationship with a student. Similarly, 29-year-old Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander and 33-year-old Maren Oates were arrested on similar charges.

More recently, 29-year-old Haylie Smart, 25-year-old Alaina Ferguson, and 32-year-old Laura Bucy were charged with similar crimes.

It’s that time of year, all the leaves are changing color, the weather cools down, cinnamon becomes natural sent. That’s right, it’s Fall. It’s the season of everything red, orange and yellow. Everyone always looks forward to Fall because it kicks off the holiday buzz and it’s the only season that doesn’t get boring. Winter, yes snow and Christmas, but it’s always too cold, snow turns to slush, and it lasts for way too long. Spring has about a week of good happiness then everyone grinds into finals and forgets what day it is and chooses not to care about the weather. And summer, well, we are too busy sleeping in and not caring about school to care about what season it is. Fall is the perfect season, it’s not too long or too short. The smells of leaves Falling and cinnamon and pumpkin coffee. Here are our favorite things to look forward to in Fall.

Sweatshirt & Sweatpants

The weather where you will never be judged for wearing a sweatshirt or sweatpants. It’s also the weather where you are at a perfect temperature to not freeze to death in just a hoodie or sweat to death. Fall is, basically, hoodie season. It’s a fashion statement. Sure you can wear your nice pullovers and cardigans, but when you have four classes on a Monday all you want is your comfy hoodie and sweatpants to make you feel somewhat happy during the long boring day. Thank you Fall for giving us hoodies.

Football Season

We have been waiting all year for Sunday night! That’s right, Sunday night football is back, but it isn’t just on Sunday’s. For you non-football fans, football is played on Thursdays, Sundays, and Mondays. And we can’t forget Saturday college football. Then for you hardcore football fans, it’s fantasy time. Fall brings out the great sport where twenty-two guys tackle each other for fun. Who wouldn’t love to watch this sport? However, if your team is losing, be smart and don’t try to throw your TV out the window. You paid good money for that flat screen, don’t let one miss catch turn you into a TV hater.

The Start To Holiday Season

Hang up the lights, put out the pumpkins, find your costumes, start on that pumpkin pie! It’s holiday season! Halloween is right around the corner, and right after we will be celebrating the day where calories don’t count. We will look at Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, but this is Fall. The time for scares and a lot of eating. Get ready to hug your grandma’s for their famous stuffing and apple pie. And depending on how young you are or how young you look, you could get free candy. Or just be the rest of us and go to the grocery the day after Halloween for somewhat free candy. Let’s get the holiday fun on!

All this time of waiting and re-watching episodes of your favorite series can stop. New episodes are here to make your weeks a little less awful than they already are. You can relate to die-hard football fans because instead of screaming when your team doesn’t get a first down, you are screaming at your favorite character making the wrong decision that will screw with them later. Get ready to sit at the edge of your seat to see what problem comes Ricks way, which character in Modern Family dies, or if this will be Grey’s Anatomy’s last season. Or you could be that Netflix watcher who is still patiently waiting for the new season of Stranger Things.

Pumpkin Spice Everything

Pumpkin Spice Candles, Pumpkin Spice coffee, Pumpkin Spice bread, Pumpkin spice donuts, literally anything pumpkin spice is amazing. How can you not like pumpkin spice? You are insane if you don’t like it, it’s a seasonal delicacy that disappears faster than we think. So, if I where you, finish this article and then go run to the nearest coffee shop or bakery and get something pumpkin spice. Trust us, you will be happy you did it.
