Emma Logan Costner, a 25-year-old former high school teacher at Crest High School, has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a student. Costner allegedly had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a Crest High School student while she was teaching there.

According to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, Costner turned herself into police without incident on Wednesday, October 3, and was arrested and charged with two counts of sex act with a student. Sex with a student is a felony charge.

Costner was being held in Cleveland County Detention Center under $10,000 bond. Crest High School is located in Shelby, North Carolina.

WSOC reports that the victim’s parents found out about the alleged relationship and contacted authorities. Police say they do not believe any of the alleged sexual encounters happened on Crest High School grounds.

Costner is just the latest teacher to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges. A woman named Kayla Sprinkles was arrested in North Carolina for similar sexual crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

34-year-old Miranda Nicole Pauley was charged with similar crimes, Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student, Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016 and 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship. 27-year-old Brittany Zamora from Arizona was arrested on similar charges. Keri Hoffman, 35, was also arrested for an alleged relationship with a student. Similarly, 29-year-old Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander and 33-year-old Maren Oates were arrested on similar charges.

More recently, 29-year-old Haylie Smart, 25-year-old Alaina Ferguson, and 32-year-old Laura Bucy were charged with similar crimes.

On September 7th, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons kicked off the 2018 NFL season and thanks to NFL Lifestyle, COED was there to tell you all about the experience.

Amidst a sea of cheesesteaks, beer, hot dogs, and screaming Eagles’ fans, I stood in the crowd awaiting kickoff. As a huge football fan, I was looking forward to this moment ever since February. If you’ve never been to Lincoln Financial Field or don’t know any Eagles’ fans, let me be the first to say that the atmosphere is exactly as crazy as advertised.

I am not an Eagles’ fan by any means–I, unfortunately, root for the Jets–but thankfully, I was able to blend in with the sea of green, white, and black with the gear that NFL Lifestyle set me up with. I walked into my hotel room in Philadelphia to find a large assortment of Eagles’ clothes and gifts so that I would be able to disguise myself as an Eagles fan for the evening.

To give you an idea of what they offer, NFL Lifestyle and the shop has a wide array of clothing to keep you dressed in your very best. Items include t-shirts, raglans, hoodies, headwear, and jerseys. There are even some more niche items like robes, joggers, leggings, scrubs, watches, ties, bracelets, ties, and purses. So, as you can say, there is literally something for everyone.

Not only do they have clothing, but NFL Lifestyle also has a bunch of items like platters, dessert trays, lazy-susans, mason jars, serve ware, drinkware, pillows, and throws, so that you can keep your fan experience going long after you leave the stadium.

Upon arrival in Philadelphia, we attended the NFL’s Kickoff Experience, an event set up at Penn’s Landing, complete with booths of NFL gear, exhibits (including the Lombardi trophy), and even a concert headlined by pop superstar Shawn Mendes.

Eagles’ legend Bryan Dawkins was on the scene to help present the Lombardi trophy and get the fans excited for the 2018 campaign. Needless to say, when he walked onto the field, the crowd at Lincoln Financial Field went nuts. Despite the game starting an hour late due to weather issues, the fans were ready to march into this season, and Dawkins led the way.

To give you an idea of the atmosphere inside the stadium, here’s the Eagles’ victory chant following one of their touchdowns.

“This Is How You Fan” is NFL Lifestyle’s motto this season and is dedicated to showcasing the fanbase’s individualism, spirit, and pride for their team. From the moment I got there, it was apparent that they had succeeded in this mission.

Pevely Elementary school students and staff have been evacuated after a suspicious package was found at nearby Pevely Park in Missouri. The package was found around 9:30 a.m. local time.

The Dunklin R-5 School District said that the elementary school students and staff have been evacuated to Herculaneum High School as a precaution.

The St. Louis County Bomb and Arson Team are currently responding to the scene.

At this time, no injuries have been reported and there is no word what the suspicious package is.

The evacuation at Pevely Elementary school just the latest in a string of evacuations, lockdowns, bomb threats, and shootings that have plagued the United States.

Over the course of the past few years, shootings and lockdowns such as these have been a scourge upon the country and people have struggled with coming up with a solution. Lockdowns have become all too common as a means of protection when students and faculty are in danger and today is no different.

This incident follows similar incidents at Dodd Middle School in Connecticut, Windham Public Schools also in Connecticut, Pacoima Middle School in Los Angeles, Millennium Middle School in Florida, and US Grant High School in Oklahoma, which are just some of the places where events such as this have occurred.

Tropical Storm Michael strengthened to a hurricane on the morning of Monday, Oct. 8 which has led Florida Governor Rick Scott to declare an emergency for 26 counties in the state. Gov. Scott also activated 500 members of the National Guard as Florida anticipates the storm.

The National Hurricane Center warned that there could be life-threatening continues along the Gulf Coast after the storm changed its trajectory. Michael was initially posing a threat to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, according to NBC News.

“Michael could produce three life-threatening hazards along portions of the northeastern Gulf Coast: storm surge, heavy rainfall, and hurricane-force winds, with storm surge and hurricane watches in effect,” the National Hurricane Center warned on social media.

In anticipation of Hurricane Michael’s landfall — which could come on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning — colleges and universities in the storm’s path have taken some early precaution and announced that classes will be canceled.

Florida State University

Florida State announced that it will be closing its Tallahassee and Panama City campuses for the week. At midnight on Tuesday, the campuses will be closed through Friday. For students that remain on campus, on-campus housing and dining will resume as normal but classes will be canceled until the following Monday, Oct. 15, according to an official release.

If students do remain on campus, they are advised to follow a “shelter in place” policy which is to stay indoors, away from doors and windows.

As all current and former college students know, making ends meet during those four (or five) years can be difficult if you aren’t selling your Adderall.

Finding a part-time job is always an option, but there are only a finite amount of those in a college town, and it can be difficult to work one into your life if you want to remain social.

But because of new technologies such as Uber and Lyft and what not, finding a side *legitimate* (selling drugs doesn’t count, Brad) while at school is much easier now than it was in the past. However, just because some technology-driven part-time gigs are solutions for college students does not mean that all of them, such as Airbnb, are.

According to Northern Arizona University spokeswoman Kim Ott, the school recently discovered that an unidentified student was renting out their dorm room on Airbnb. Ott said that university police told the unauthorized guests to leave.

In a statement given on Friday, October 5,  Northern Arizona University said they contacted Airbnb and had the listing removed. Furthermore, Ms. Ott said that while the unnamed student remains enrolled at the school, they are facing disciplinary action for violating school policy.

ABC reports that the dorm room had a single bed and an attached bathroom and that the student gave renters access to the residence hall.

At this time, the university did not name the student and did not discuss specific disciplinary action.

Khabib Nurmagomedov will be facing sanctions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission and the Ultimate Fighting Championship following his post-fight shenanigans at UFC 229 which sparked a brawl in the crowd and cage after he choked out Conor McGregor to retain his lightweight championship.

But the punishment Khabib will have to worry about the most comes from his father.

In an interview that took place in the aftermath of his son’s melee with Team McGregor, his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov spoke with the media to address his son’s actions outside of the cage during the pay-per-view. As you might expect, Adbulmanap, who got Khabib into fighting, was not pleased and plans on letting his son have it when he gets home.

“Probably all the same for Khabib, the toughest sanctions are my attitude,” Abdulmanap said, via Ren.tv. “I will be very hard on this. I warned him. For me, discipline comes first.”

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Khabib is in for a harsh punishment, because he acknowledged that would be the case in the post-fight interview.

“I know my father gonna smash me when I go home because… I know he gonna smash me,” Khabib said.

With his win, Khabib advanced to 27-0 in his professional career. His 27 consecutive wins gives him the longest winning streak in all of mixed martial arts. Khabib first won the vacant lightweight championship on April 7, 2018 at UFC 223 when he scored a dominant decision win over Al Iaquinta in Brooklyn, New York. He became the first Russian to win a UFC title. The submission victory over McGregor was his first title defense.

One of the reasons that South Park is one of the most successful comedies on television is that is as a deep roster of hilarious characters.

While Conor McGregor may be the most popular MMA fighter in the world, Khabib Nurmagamedov quite handily proved that he’s far from the best MMA fighter in the world.

During the pair’s lightweight championship bout at UFC 229 on October 6, Khabib handled McGregor on the ground in the first two rounds before barely losing the third round. Then, in the fourth, “The Eagle” proved to be too much for the “Notorious”, as Nurmagamedov was able to get McGregor to submit with a neck crank choke.

However, while the casual UFC fan may have thought the Khabib result was McGregor’s first ever MMA loss, it was actually his fourth — all of which have come via submission.

And yet, despite the fact that Khabib more or less dominated him, McGregor was already calling for a rematch just a few hours later.

Of Conor McGregor’s four professional losses in mixed martial arts, two of them have come in the Ultimate Fighting Championship — one to Nate Diaz (who he later defeated in the rematch) and one to Khabib. And while beating Conor McGregor has proved to be no easy feat, the way to beat him is certainly a known quantity at this point of his career: submission.

John Kavanaugh, the head coach of UFC star Conor McGregor at SBG Ireland, is the latest to sound off on the post-UFC 229 melee between his fighter and UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. First, we heard Khabib’s manager slam McGregor and his teammates, then Khabib’s father shared his own disappointment in his son. Now, we hear from Team McGregor.

And what Kavanaugh said may come as a surprise.

Kavanaugh appeared on the Monday, Oct. 8 edition of the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast with UFC commentator Joe Rogan where he addressed the brawl which spread into the crowd after Khabib choked out McGregor in the fourth round.

While some are asking for Khabib to be stripped and booted from the UFC, Kavanaugh is actually defending the champion and asking for leniency in any punishment.

“I hope they’re lenient on him and not just so we can get a rematch,” Kavanagh said, as transcribed by Damon Martin of MMA Weekly. “I love watching him fight for a start and I can stretch myself to understand his reaction. I can’t stretch myself to understand the other guy’s reactions and what they did [going after Conor]. For Khabib he jumped over the cage and he jumped someone. It’s not the end of the world.”

“It wasn’t that big a deal to me what Khabib did. It just really wasn’t.”

Of course, Kavanaugh has a good reason to hope Khabib isn’t on the shelf for a long time. If Khabib is suspended for a lengthy period of time by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, that puts any possibility of a rematch with McGregor in question. If Khabib is given a slap on the wrist and can return sooner rather than later, Team McGregor is going to be lining up and pleading for a rematch and an opportunity at redemption.

Ashley Maddox, a 31-year-old Chilton County High School math teacher, was arrested on Wednesday, October 3, and charged with a dozen sex-related charges. Maddox allegedly had inappropriate relationships with three different Chilton County High School students.

According to Chilton County Chief Deputy District Attorney CJ Robinson, Maddox, 31, has been charged with two counts of a school employee having sexual contact with a student under 19, two counts of a school employee soliciting a sex act with a student under 19, four counts of a school employee distributing obscene material to a student and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Authorities say that the investigation began as an administrative matter but became a criminal investigation once criminal acts were alleged. Chief Robinson said that The Clanton Police Department launched an investigation during which other students came forward and “disclosed Nikki Maddox had subjected them to inappropriate and illegal sexual contact.”

Police believe the incidents happened over the past few months.

Following her arrest, Maddox was booked into the Chilton County Jail on Wednesday, October 3, and was released after posting $17,500 bond.

Maddox, a married mother with children, graduated from the University of Montevallo and was teaching Algebra I and Algebraic Essentials at Chilton High School.

A fraternity at the University of Tennessee is currently under investigation for allegations of hazing. The investigation is focused on a scavenger hunt which specifically involved photographing Asian students. The fraternity under investigation has not been named.

According to a University of Tennessee spokeswoman, the school received allegations of student misconduct but did not provide further details. UT said no further information could be provided “in order to preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation and protect individual student’s FERPA rights.”

Jonathan Thomas, a member of the school’s Asian-American Intervarsity, told WVLT that the complaints stem from fraternity brothers reportedly taking photographs with students of Asian background and described the practice as a sort of scavenger hunt with an undercurrent of racial profiling.

Thomas claims the scavenger hunt happens every year and that younger members are tasked with completing a list of exercises, one of which includes taking a photograph of an Asian student.

Participation of students in hazing activities is prohibited. “Hazing” means any intentional or reckless act, on or off university property, by one student acting alone or with others, which is directed against any other student and endangers the mental, physical, or emotional health or safety of that student, or which induces or coerces a student to endanger their mental, physical, or emotional health or safety, and includes treatment of a violent, abusive, shameful, insulting, or humiliating nature.

Such action is prohibited when connected with initiation into or affiliation with an organization and does not include participation in customary athletic events or similar competition. A student committing an act of hazing is subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Standards of Conduct.

This is the latest major fraternity or sorority lawsuit, investigation, suspension or closure in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State have all suspended fraternities in the wake of hazing and alcohol deaths.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who was shut down for hazing and the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State, West Virginia University, and Penn State University have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

This costume is literally a suit, that is a brick wall, it says “Mexico Will Pay.” No! Jus, no! Why would someone wear this? Why would someone make this? For those of you with a sense of humor, it is kind of funny of how crazy the costume is and looks. But, it’s a huge insult. Halloween is supposed to be fun and entertaining, not rude and horrible. And that’s what this costume is, rude and horrible.

Safety first, literally. It’s an excellent way to promote safe sex and to show off how small your penis is. Most guys who do wear this laugh off the fact that they would not be able to fit into that size condom and by wearing it as a costume will be the only way. Samantha Ness, an employee at the Alliance Education Center in the Rosemount School District, has been identified as the woman who wrote a tweet that called for the “killing” of Brett Kavanaugh.

In a now-deleted tweet, Ness wrote: “So whose going to take one for the team and kill Kavanaugh?”

As a result of her tweet, Ness was put on leave by the district’s superintendent pending the outcome of the investigation.

The superintendent of Intermediate School District 917, which is located in Rosemount, said an employee had been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.

“Over the weekend, the district has received a complaint regarding an employee,” superintendent Mark Zuzek said in a statement. “The employee has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Pursuant with the data practices act, we are limited to providing additional information regarding this matter.”

The matter was referred to an ethics professional at the professional educator licensing and standards board for consideration on opening an investigation into her license. Zuzek said the decision was made based on the district’s harassment and violence policy, recently updated at the school board’s Aug. 2 meeting.

Kavanaugh was confirmed on a 50-48 vote Saturday, capping a fight that seized the national conversation after claims emerged that Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted women three decades ago — which he emphatically denied.

Mark Zuzek, the superintendent of the Rosemount School District, released the following statement:

“Over the weekend, the district has received a complaint regarding an employee. The employee has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Pursuant with the data practices act, we are limited to providing additional information regarding this matter.”

Ness has since deleted her Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has since confirmed that they are “looking into” the threat.

Bomb disposal units are currently on scene at Lincoln Central station in Lincoln, England after a suspicious package was found.

Police are currently on the scene and civilians are being asked to avoid the area.

According to the Lincolnshire Police, a suspicious package was found and the bus station has been evacuated. Additionally, road closures are in place.

The British Transport Police also addressed the evacuation on Twitter:

We are currently dealing with an incident – alongside Lincolnshire Police – at Lincoln Central station. A suspicious item was found on a bus outside the station which is currently closed. Check National Rail Enquiries for the latest travel information.

At this time, no injuries have been reported. The package does not appear to be a legitimate threat.

The Lincoln Central Station, which was opened on October 17, 1848, is located at 19 St Mary’s Street, Lincoln LN5 7EW, United Kingdom.

The station serves the city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire, England, and is owned by Network Rail and managed by East Midlands Trains train operating company. East Midlands Trains provide the majority of services along with Northern and London North Eastern Railway.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is set to face punishment for the UFC 229 brawl where he left the ring to attack Conor McGregor teammate Dillon Danis. The Nevada State Athletic Commission is currently withholding his $2 million purse and opened an investigation shortly after the pay-per-view concluded.

But just what kind of punishment will Nurmagomedov face for his role in sparking the brawl?

Some have called for Nurmagomedov to be stripped of his title, while others have gone as far as saying he should be removed from the UFC roster. But according to UFC president Dana White, the sanctions handed down could be less severe than imagined — or at least that is what he’s hoping for.

Speaking with TMZ, White said that a $250,000 fine and six-month suspension would do the trick.

“They took his whole purse right now and they’re talking about keeping his purse – I do not think that that should happen,” White told TMZ Sports. “You should not be able to keep his whole purse. I think they should take ($250,000) from him. (He) absolutely keeps his title. And he’s going to get suspended, so maybe you give him a four to six months suspension.”

Of course, the NSAC has the final say, and they appear to be prepared to take a firm stance against

Shahed Hussain, a 62-year-old Pakistan native, has been identified as the owner of the Prestige Limousine company that operated the limo that crashed and killed 20 people in New York on Saturday, October 6. The Prestige Limousine company had a history of failed inspections.

According to authorities, the 2001 Ford Excursion limo that was being driven by 53-year-old Scott Lisinicchia was traveling southwest on State Route 30 when it sped through an intersection with State Route 30 A and collided with an SUV in a parking lot. The incident happened around 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, in Schoharie, New York.

Lisinicchia, all 18 passengers, and the two pedestrians that were standing near the parked 2015 Toyota Highlander were also killed. Witness reports from the scene of the crash said that the limo was traveling approximately 60mph when it ran through a stop sign before blowing into the parked 2015 Toyota Highlander.

A report from The Washington Post says that Erin McGowan, a passenger on the limo who died in the accident, texted her aunt Valerie Abeling to say that the limo was “in terrible condition.” Furthermore, Abeling indicated that the group had originally rented a bus to take them to their destination, however, it broke down, which caused the transportation company to send a limo to take the group the rest of the way.

Following the tragedy, it has been revealed that Hussain, the owner of the limo company, was an FBI informant.

The company is owned by Shahed Hussain, whose backstory includes numerous stints as an undercover informant for the FBI. Authorities said Hussain, 62, is in his native Pakistan at present. Other company executives have pledged to cooperate with the investigation. Asked whether Hussain is under criminal investigation, New York State Police Major Robert Patnaude said anyone found to be criminally culpable will be “held accountable.”

Albany-area lawyer Dana Salazar, who represented Shahed Hussain in a civil action against Saratoga County that revolved around the Saratoga Road motel property, verified Monday that her client had indeed been the celebrated informant.

Hussain emigrated from Pakistan in the early 1990s, fleeing a murder charge that he later said was trumped up, according to news reports. He worked as a translator for the New York state Department of Motor Vehicles but was caught helping people cheat on DMV exams in return for money. He later was accused of making fraudulent statements in a personal bankruptcy case as well.

Hussain pleaded guilty to a felony in relation to the DMV scam but avoided prison and deportation by becoming an informant, working in New York’s Muslim communities to find people who had radical tendencies.

The accident was the deadliest transportation accident in the United States in nine years.
