Nancy Crampton-Brophy may have gotten a little too involved in her work. The author of works like “Hot To Murder Your Husband,” “Hell on the Heart” and “The Wrong Husband,” was arrested on Sept. 5 for — you guessed it — the murder of her husband, 63-year-old Daniel Brophy.

Daniel Brophy was found dead inside of the Oregon Culinary Institute in Portland back on June 2. He had worked at the Institute for decades.

The couple was married for 27 years.

Crampton-Brophy addressed her husband’s death at a vigil shortly after his murder.

“Daniel was one of the few people I’ve ever known who did exactly what he wanted in life and loved doing it,” she said, via NBC News. “He was a person who did what he loved: he loved teaching, he loved mushrooms, he loved his family.”

NBC News adds:

Crampton-Brophy describes herself on her website as the author of “fiction books under the Romance Suspense genre.” Among her works is a series with the tagline “wrong never felt so right,” which includes titles such as “The Wrong Hero,” “The Wrong Brother,” and “The Wrong Husband.”

“The Wrong Husband” is about a woman who hatches a plan to run away from her abusive husband while on an anniversary trip overseas with him. Her escape efforts are sidetracked when the cruise ship they are on wrecks off the coast of Italy.

After an investigation, Oregon police decided to take 68-year-old Crampton-Brophy into custody. It was then that they announced his wife was believed to be a suspect in the murder.

“Detectives believe Nancy L. Crampton-Brophy is the suspect in Daniel C. Brophy’s murder,” said Portland police, via the Sun Sentinel.

Crampton-Brophy remains in jail for unlawful use of a weapon and murder.

Despite her arrest and the fact that she is currently behind bars, her sister told ABC News that she believes Crampton-Brophy is innocent.

“None of us believe it,” said Holly Crampton. “It’s craziness and it’s just not true.”

In today’s day and age, thanks to the advancement of technology and everyone always being on their cell phones, racist acts across the country are surfacing more frequently. Well, meet Don Crandall, the latest man to be exposed in the world of social media.

A group of black students at Florida A&M University was waiting to enter the Stadium Center student accommodation last weekend. They were waiting for their friend to let them into the building when Crandall stepped in and a heated exchange ensued. At that point, Crandall pulls out a gun during the argument.

He told the students that they “didn’t belong” in the building.

“Find another elevator, you can’t get in this one,’ Crandall can be heard saying as he blocks their way into the building,” Crandall can be heard saying. “Because you don’t belong in this building. You ain’t got a key for the building, you don’t belong in the elevator.”

The altercation was caught on camera and shared online by student Isaiah Butterfield, who was in the group of students that was confronted.

Butterfield shared the video online with the caption:

“These are the kind of people that are burning Nike products , we are sick of the discrimination never thought I’d have a personal experience with racism like this, this man pulled a gun on us because we were walking up to my friends apartment w/o a key.”

“Once we found out he had the gun, it turned into a whole different situation,” Butterfield told ABC News. “We really think he was trying to provoke us to the point where it got violent so he could retaliate with the gun. I knew that if this dude even feels threatened, he’s going to find any excuse to pull the trigger.”

The apartment building the students were trying to get into responded with a statement.

“We are aware of the video posted on social media over the weekend and reported this incident immediately to the police,” the statement read.

“Firearms are strictly prohibited on our property and we take this matter very seriously. We are cooperating with the police during their investigation and it has been determined that the person in the elevator is not a resident. Moreover, we are firmly committed to fostering a diverse residential community that is inclusive and welcoming to all.”

Crandwall has since been identified as the general manager of local hotel Baymont by Wyndham. He is reportedly no longer employed by the hotel because he “does not represent the values of our company and how others should be treated.”

Though updates other Apple products like the Apple Watch and AirPods will be announced, the headline grabber throughout the years has always been the newly released line of iPhones. Now that we have an idea of what will be announced later today, let’s look at the ways to watch the Apple Event online.

Conor McGregor is less than one month away from his highly-anticipated return to the UFC. The former two-division champion will be competing in his first mixed martial arts bought since Nov. 12, 2016 when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 to become the UFC lightweight champion. He was ultimately stripped of the title due to inactivity after taking a hiatus for the birth of his first child and for a boxing superfight against Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Now, after some legal issues earlier in 2018, the road is cleared for his return to action at UFC 229.

McGregor will be headlining the event against current undefeated lightweight titleholder Khabib Nurmagomedov. The two have been on a collision course for years and now they will finally go toe-to-toe inside of the Octagon.

Ahead of his return, the brash Irishman took to social media to share a training montage that shows the work he has been putting in at the gym. McGregor shows off his usual flashy techniques, along with some work on his wrestling base which he will need when he takes on Nurmagomedov, who is one of the top grapplers in the sport.

UFC 229 takes place Saturday, Oct. 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The UFC 229 main card will air on pay-per-view, with preliminary bouts on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Henry Cavill, who has starred as Superman in the DC Extended Universe since 2013’s Man Of Steel, is reportedly stepping away from the role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, talks broke down for a cameo in Shazam! due to scheduling conflicts. While neither Cavill nor Warner Bros. has confirmed the news of the actor’s departure, a source told THR received the news of the split from a source.

Cavill portrayed Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman in 2013’s Man Of Steel, 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice and 2017’s Justice League.

While the franchise started off on a relatively high note with Man Of Steel, the quality of the films and the character only devolved as the movies progressed.

Warners had been trying to enlist Cavill, who most recently co-starred in Mission: Impossible — Fallout, for a Superman cameo in Shazam!, which stars Zachary Levi and will bow April 5. But contract talks between Cavill’s WME reps and Warners broke down, and the door is now closing on other potential Superman appearances.

That’s because the studio has shifted its focus to a Supergirl movie, which will be an origin story featuring a teen superheroine. This effectively removes an actor of Cavill’s age from the storyline’s equation given that Superman, aka Kal-El, would be an infant, according to DC lore.

Furthermore, Warners isn’t likely to make a solo Superman film for at least several years, according to another source. “Superman is like James Bond, and after a certain run you have to look at new actors,” says a studio source. As such, Cavill will join Ben Affleck, who isn’t expected to reprise his role for director Matt Reeves’ forthcoming Batman stand-alone film, as a hero on the way out.

Cavill has recently signed on to star in Netflix’s adaptation of the hit video game The Witcher .

Kyrie Irving is heading to Harvard Business School. The Boston Celtics star point guard will be spending some of his free time learning how to “develop business acumen … to make better business decisions” as a member of the “Crossover Into Business” program.

Irving will be one of the participants for the semester-long program taught by Harvard Business School professor Anita Elberse.

The former Duke standout explained his decision to enter “Crossover Into Business” with the Boston Globe.

“When I am playing basketball or perfecting my craft, which comes with a lot of sacrifice, then the time that I’ve got outside of it, I’ll use to develop a lot of interests and passions that I have, to make up for that,” Irving said. “I feel like if I had the same amount of time that I was afforded [for basketball] to learn about business and investments, I think I’d probably be in a pretty different place.”

If you’ve been itching for some promotion for Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor at UFC 229, you are in luck. On Wednesday, Sept. 12, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that the two main eventers will be heading to New York City for a pre-fight press conference that is sure to build some hype and momentum for one of the most anticipated fights of the year.

A press conference will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

It is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Along with the undefeated lightweight champion and the former two-division champ, UFC president Dana White will be on hand for the event. Unfortunately, it will be closed to the public, but fans will be able to watch the press conference live online via YouTube or UFC Fight Pass.

Conor McGregor last fought in the UFC on November 12, 2016, defeating Eddie Alvarez to claim the UFC lightweight championship. At the time of his big win, McGregor became the first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles in two different weight classes simultaneously; he was also the featherweight champion at the time.

Since that fight, McGregor was stripped of both belts, welcomed his first child to the world, and dabbled in the boxing world for a superfight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Now, he is finally ready to step back into the cage to attempt to reclaim the title that he believes is still his.

Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, claimed the vacant UFC lightweight title at UFC 223 on April 7, 2018 in Brooklyn, New York. Nurmagomedov scored a unanimous decision victory win over Al Iaquinta in the main event. Khabib was initially scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson for the title, but the bout fell through in the final days leading up to the event and Iaquinta stepped up on short notice.

UFC 229 takes place Saturday, Oct. 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The UFC 229 main card will air on pay-per-view, with preliminary bouts on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Along with the main event between Nurmagomedov and McGregor, other bouts currently scheduled include Sergio Pettis vs. Jussier Formiga in a battle of top flyweight contenders, former Invicta FC champion Michelle Waterson vs. Felice Herrig, Ovince Saint Preux vs. Dominick Reyes, Ryan LaFlare vs. Tony Martin, and Lina Lansberg vs. Yana Kunitskaya.

The eighth season of Ryan Murphy’s monster-sized horror hit American Horror Story premieres tonight at 10 p.m. EST on FX.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse kicks off its ten-episode season with the appropriately titled episode “The End”.

The official episode details about “The End” are as follows:

“In the aftermath of the Apocalypse, a group of survivors live together in an underground haven called Outpost Three, a refuge from the radiation fallout, where the matriarchal coven controls its inhabitants and punishes those who violate the rules.”

Danyna Gibson has been identified as the 16-year-old high school student from Warren, Michigan, who was stabbed and killed by a classmate.

Following the attack, an unidentified 17-year-old student at Fitzgerald High School could be facing murder charges after she fatally stabbed Gibson over a boy they were both dating.

No other students were injured in the attack, while Danyna was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

What Happened?

According to reports, the stabbing happened around 8:30 a.m. at Fitzgerald High School in Warren, Michigan, when the still unidentified 17-year-old student pulled out a kitchen steak knife and stabbed the victim twice in the chest.

Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said that while a school resource officer immediately began life-saving procedures, Gibson was pronounced dead at a hospital about an hour later.

The school resource officer, who heard screams, raced to the classroom, according to Dwyer. He began CPR and continued until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights for treatment of two stab wounds to her chest. She died during surgery at 9:24 a.m., police said.

As the school was placed on lockdown status, the suspect was escorted to the principal’s office and arrested there by police without a struggle. She’s in the Warren Police Department lockup. No other students were harmed.

The suspect and the victim — both of whom reside in Warren — formerly were friends. Both had — or were — dating the same male student at the same time or different times, police said. That boy has cooperated with investigators.

Detectives plan to seek a murder warrant for the suspect on Thursday from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.

Who Was Danyna Gibson?

Danyna Gibson was the 16-year-old student who was stabbed to death at Fitzgerald High School in Warren, Michigan, on Wednesday, September 12.

Gibson’s family says that the late Danyna was a member of the cross country team, robotics club, color guard, marching band and National Honor Guard Society, student council and was a straight-A student.

A vigil is planned on the high school football field for Danyna at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13.

Galveston County Sheriff’s Office

Kristin Pike, a 28-year-old teacher at Dickinson High School in Texas, has been charged with a felony count of improper relationship between educator and student. Pike taught English and was a softball coach, before leaving the district in June for reasons allegedly unrelated to the allegations.

Among the allegations are that Pike had sex with a 15-year-old student in a classroom.

The student informed school administrators of the “consensual sexual contact and sexual intercourse,” according to the Daily Mail, but also added that four other students had had sex with Pike in 2016.

“The district immediately forwarded the information to Child Protective Services and law enforcement and is cooperating with authorities in the investigation,” Dickinson Independent School District spokeswoman Tammy Dowdy said.

The report adds:

The district released a statement after Pike turned herself in and said it ‘immediately forwarded information’ to authorities after it was made aware of the allegations and is cooperating with the investigation. Pike’s bond was set at $20,000. She is no longer in custody.

She turned herself into the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, according to the Galveston County Daily News.

Just a year prior, Dickinson High School had dealt with another teacher, 32-year-old Justin Devera, being charged with improper relationship between an educator and student. Devera admitted to having sex with a 17-year-old student and was sentenced to 10 years probation after pleading guilty to the charge.

Pike is just the latest teacher to be charged for an alleged relationship with a teenager student.  Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

In the days following the tragic and untimely death of 26-year-old rapper Mac Miller, tributes from fans, family, friends, and peers have poured in from all corners of the Earth. And unsurprisingly, one of the most articulate and heartfelt tributes came from Miller’s friend and fellow musician Kendrick Lamar.

Lamar, who collaborated with Miller on his fourth album The Divine Feminine, recorded a personal video for Complex’s “Open Late” where he highlighted his favorite parts of Mac Miller, particularly his unwavering spirit and unparalleled musical talent.

While Kendrick’s heartfelt appreciation of Mac was endearing, it was his detailing of the comedic moments the two shared together that is the true highlight of the video, as it gives fans an insight into who Mac really was, even when it came to his friendship with one of the world’s biggest rappers.

And if I can remember anything about the homie, man, it’s just the fact that he was a funny, funny, funny individual.
