Nicki Minaj dropped the music video for her hit song “Barbie Dreams” of off her recently released album “Queen.” The song caught plenty of attention when it was first released because of the no-nonsense approach to the lyrics that single out a number of rappers and athletes for a variety of reasons.

Minaj dropped her new album Queen on Friday, Aug. 10. One of the tracks, “Barbie Dreams,” calls out a number of men in the industry including Meek Mill, DJ Khalid, Odell Beckham, Drake, Young Thug, Eminem and more. She dropped the official music video on Monday, Sept. 10.

She had teased the release of the music video for “Barbie Dreams” during the latest episode of Queen Radio and fans were eagerly waiting for its release.

The video is directed by Hype Williams.

Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions opened their new season at the home against the New York Jets — as 7-point favorites, mind you — anddddd got absolutely whooped. Just utterly destroyed.

Stafford threw four picks as he was outplayed by his rookie counterpart Sam Darnold, the Lions defense gave up close to 50 points, and the running game generated 34 yards (at the time of this writing). And this was all after Sam Darnold spotted them seven points as he threw a pick-six with the first pass attempt.

Needless to say, it was a disastrous debut for Matt Patricia and the rest new Lions coaching staff. While Twitter was quick to bury the Lions as a whole, the internet particularly critical of Stafford (and his paycheck in particular):

Despite their pitiful showing, the Lions weren’t even the worst performance of the night, as the announcing crew ESPN had on the game — Brian Griese and Beth Mowins — was just awful.

The Lions will attempt to pick up the pieces next Sunday at the San Fransisco 49ers, while the Jets host the Miami Dolphins.

Veronica Dixon, a 30-year-old former teacher at Trewyn School in Peoria, Illinois, has settled a lawsuit filed on behalf of a teen-aged boy who claims he was the victim of a sexual assault by Dixon back in 2016.

In March 2017, Dixon was charged and convicted of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Peoria County District Court and was sentenced to a four-year prison sentence.

According to reports from the Journal Star, the Peoria school district agreed to a settlement with the family of the victim. The settlement, which was agreed upon on Tuesday, September 4, is for $15,000 with “no acknowledgment of any wrongdoing by the district.”

Criminal records indicate that the victim was a seventh-grade student in Dixon’s class at the Trewyn School at the time of the assault.

Dixon is just the latest teacher to be charged for inappropriate conduct. Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges. A woman named Kayla Sprinkles was arrested in North Carolina for similar sexual crimes.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

In addition, 31-year-old Nicole Marie Andrews, 32-year-old Jessica Langford, 29-year-old Andrea Baber, 27-year-old Robin Dunlap, 27-year-old Jennifer Olajire-Aro have also been charged with these charges.

34-year-old Miranda Nicole Pauley was charged with similar crimes, Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student, Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016 and 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship. 27-year-old Brittany Zamora from Arizona was arrested on similar charges. Keri Hoffman, 35, was also arrested for an alleged relationship with a student. More recently, 29-year-old Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander and 33-year-old Maren Oates were arrested on similar charges.

September 11, 2001 is one of the most heartbreaking days in United States history. On that day, the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City were attacked, along with the Pentagon and another attempt that fell short in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Sawyer Stephen Campbell, a 21-year-old Auburn University student, died after a tragic skydiving accident at the Tuskegee Municipal Airfield in Alabama on Sunday, September 9.

Cambell was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:01 p.m. after sustaining fatal injuries due to complications with his parachute. A report from WSFA says that the incident happened around 12:45 p.m. The report also states that Campbell’s elevation was 10,000 feet at the time of the jump and was his second jump of the day.

According to Macon County Coroner Hal Bentley, Campbell’s main shoot “malfunctioned” and did not “open properly.”

At this time, the Tuskegee Police Department is treating the incident as a “death investigation” until all of the facts have been reviewed. The Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating.

Campbell, a junior at Auburn University, was a graduate of Huntsville High school and is survived by his parents and his sister. Friends and family say Sawyer was an avid scuba diver and skydiver. His funeral will take place in Huntsville, Alabama.

According to a 2014 statistic from the United States Parachute Association, of an estimated 3.2 million jumps that year, there were just 24 fatalities — a rate of 0.0075 deaths per 1,000 jumps.

21-year-old Auburn University student Sawyer Stephen Campbell was killed after a skydiving incident at Tuskegee Municipal Airfield. According to the local coroner’s office, Campbell’s main shoot “malfunctioned” and did not “open properly.”

Campbel was a 21-year-old Auburn Student who graduated from Huntsville High School in Huntsville, Alabama. According to friends and family, he was adventurous, frequently skydiving and scuba diving.

His funeral services were held the week of September 10.

Recording artist Tinashe, born Tinashe Jorgensen Kachingwe, dropped her second studio album Joyride in April 2018. She was also rumored to be dating NBA star Ben Simmons earlier that year, but they quickly broke up leading to a rumored romance between Simmons and Kendall Jenner.

Now, Tinashe could be taking her talents to network television.

According to rumors from E! News and US Weekly, Tinashe is set to participate on the upcoming season of the ABC hit reality show dance competition Dancing With the Stars. Tinashe is rumored to be partnering with pro dancer Gleb Savchenko.

The official cast for season 27 of Dancing With the Stars will be announced on Wednesday, Sept. 12 on Good Morning America.

If Tinashe can flash some of the same moves we are used to seeing in her music videos, she could be an early contender to keep an eye on.

Valerie Scogin, a 33-year-old math teacher at Slidell High School in Louisiana, has been disciplined by the school district due to a racist Facebook comment she wrote about Nike’s Colin Kaepernick commercial. Scogin has since apologized for the racially charged post and has also deleted her Facebook.

According to The New Orleans Advocate, while the St. Tammany Parish school district has an “electronic communication policy” that bans employees from being engaging on social media with current students, it does not define what they can or cannot say on their social media accounts.

Meredith Mendez, a spokeswoman for the St. Tammany Parish school system, said about Scogin: “The appropriate disciplinary action has been taken. I can’t comment further due to this being a personnel matter.

Valerie Scogin, a teacher at Slidell High School posted on Facebook saying “they don’t have to live in that country. they could go back,” the post goes on to say “Want to not be stereotyped, tell people of that color to quit acting like animals.”

It’s unclear who Scogin is referring to and what prompted the post but for some parents, it doesn’t matter.

When asked if she views the post as racist, parent Cadra Menard replied, “Absolutely the connotations, you couldn’t miss that, I couldn’t miss that, I don’t know who could.”

The director of public information for St. Tammany Parish Public Schools said, “We are aware of the post. The teacher did remove the post. We are taking the appropriate disciplinary actions.”

An official with the school district said they are taking the appropriate disciplinary actions but they would not expand on what that means.

Furthermore, WWL-TV reported that Scogin was in class on Monday, September 10.

What Happened?

A math teacher in Louisiana has been disciplined after writing a racist comment on Facebook.

In parts, the comment read: “They don’t have to live in that country. They could go back.”

She also wrote: “Want to not be stereotyped, tell people of that color to quit acting like animals and perpetuating the stereotype. Many are average people; the few ruin it.”

Who is Valerie Scogin?

Valerie Scogin is the 33-year-old math teacher at Slidell High School who was disciplined by the St.Tammany Parish school district for her racist Facebook comment.

At this time, her punishment has not been disclosed.

Hannah Siboyeh, a 25-year old teacher’s aide from Texas, has been arrested on charges of sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between educator and student. The relationship between Siboyeh and a 15-year-old student allegedly first began when she was 24. She was released on $30,000 bond after being booked into Harris County Jail.

Siboyeh had worked as a paraprofessional at Labay Middle School in Houston, according to the Daily Mail.

The relationship between Siboyeh and the student reportedly lasted a year.

The Daily Mail states:

The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Police launched an investigation in April when the principal at the Houston school contacted them after being tipped off about Siboyeh’s alleged conduct by another student.

The student reported seeing the 15-year-old boy and Siboyeh in bed together at the victim’s home and hearing ‘weird noises’ coming from the room, stated a probable cause affidavit filed in the case.

And things get even weirder. Siboyeh alleges that she lost her virginity to the boy and that she was in love with him. She confessed to having sex with the boy on multiple occasions including a public park and hotel, according to the Houston Chronicle. During the investigation, multiple explicit photos of Siboyeh and the boy were found along with a video of the two having sex.

If convicted, Siboyeh could face up to 17 years in prison.

Following her first court appearance on Monday, Sept. 10, Siboyeh was barred from having contact with anyone younger than 17 and the victim, while also being forced to surrender her passport. She is due back in court on November 11.

Chelsea L. Robinson, a 28-year-old teacher who was accused of having a sexual relationship with a male student, is set to go to trial for her alleged crimes on November 13. Robinson has been charged three counts of criminal sexual assault-position of trust.

According to prosecutors, Robinson allegedly had a relationship with an unidentified male student in June while employed as a special-education teacher at Danville High School in Illinois. Danville school became aware of Robinson’s alleged relationship and contacted the police department. Following a brief investigation, Robinson was arrested August 17 and was consequently suspended without pay.

Following her arrest, she was freed on a $100,000 bond and has been ordered not to make any contact with the victim.

Late last spring, Robinson had been reassigned to a special-education classroom at North Ridge Middle School, district officials said Friday. They added it was one of about 40 classroom reassignments made at the time to fill vacancies in the district. Then on Aug. 10, school officials said, they became aware of the allegation against Robinson and immediately contacted the police department.

“We requested that they conduct a child-welfare check, which spurred the investigation,” Superintendent Alicia Geddis said.

School board members are scheduled to vote on the firing of a tenured teacher at their meeting Wednesday. Geddis declined to name the teacher until after the board takes action. The superintendent did say the teacher waived her right to a due-process hearing before a panel of board members.

Dustin Johnson, the number one ranked golfer in the world, may have some troubles at home after his stunning wife Paulina Gretzky deleted all of their pictures together off of Instagram. And if the latest rumors are to be believed, the reason behind their alleged rift may be another woman.

According to The Daily Mail, Johnson’s recent friendship with 29-year-old socialite and golf influencer Yassie Safai is “believed to be a major issue in the couple’s reported relationship breakdown.”

Johnson’s never been known for being on his best behavior, as he previously tested positive for cocaine back in 2014. Similarly, a tipster emailed us earlier this summer with some apparent proof that Johnson was having an affair, although we never published the story due to an inability to corroborate the facts.

Johnson and Paulina, the daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, have been engaged since 2013. The couple has two children together — Tatum Gretzky Johnson and River Jones Johnson.

Johnson and Gretzky are regular visitors to the exclusive Sherwood Country Club near Los Angeles, where Safai’s partner, Michael Humbarger, is also a member. She is reported to have caught the golfing bug in a big way, and has regularly re-tweeted messages detailing Johnson’s exploits on the course.

Gretzky’s parents, Canadian ice hockey legend Wayne and wife Janet, own a mansion at Sherwood, and are said to be furious at the way the scandal has erupted. Another Sherwood member, who did not want his identity revealed, commented: “It is the talk of the club that Yassie is at the centre of the split, and it has caused the Gretzky family a lot of heartache.

Week 1 of the NFL is in the books, and that means that week 1 of the fantasy season has come and gone. This is a pivotal point in the season for fantasy owners who will undoubtedly look to the waiver wire to replace injured or underperforming starters. This past week in the NFL had some high flying performances from fantasy studs like Michael Thomas and Tyreek Hill, and budding fantasy stars like James Conner and Patrick Mahomes. If you had the misfortune of starting Doug Baldwin, Amari Cooper, or Jimmy Graham, you might need one of the players below to ensure your week 2 starting lineup performs to maximum ability. Top 10 Sleepers & Waiver Wire Pickups For Week 2

1. Patrick Mahomes

If you had predicted that one of Week 1’s top performing quarterbacks would be sophomore Patrick Mahomes, you are a good liar. He is available in most leagues and can be a serviceable starter if your regular quarterback does not pan out.

2. Austin Ekeler

Though he will play second fiddle to Melvin Gordon as the lead of the Chargers rushing attack, Ekeler has strong fantasy value in PPR leagues and is largely available in free agency.

3.  Jared Cook

Oakland’s starting tight end shined on Monday night, hauling in nine passes for 180 yards. His fantasy value going forward is extremely high, as Tight Ends seem to be in short supply. He should be high on your waiver priority if you had Greg Olsen or Delanie Walker, both of whom will be out an extended period of time with injury.

4. Dion Lewis

The pass-catching back in Mike Vrabel’s Titan offense will have an increased role going forward, as he showed his versatility and fantasy value amidst starter Derrick Henry’s subsided production.

5. Phillip Dorsett

Though Patriots receivers are a commodity whose value fluctuates week by week, there is no doubt that Dorsett and Brady had a connection week 1 versus the Texans. He should remain on fantasy radars as long as he is not injured.

6. Kenny Stills

Stills is most likely owned in your league. His high upside, bolstered by Devante Parker’s absence, makes him a must own. Even if he is the top receiver in a stymied offense, he is still the top option.

7. Phillip Lindsay

Though Royce Freeman is the Broncos rookie back that is getting attention, Lindsay proved during Week 1 that he is a name worth remembering. With 15 carries in Week 1, Lindsay is a low risk/high reward pickup on the waiver wire.

8. Geronimo Allison

Despite his role as third fiddle to Randall Cobb and Davante Adams, Allison has fantasy value as long as Aaron Rodgers stays healthy.

9. T.J Yeldon

Yeldon’s value relies entirely on Leonard Fournette’s health. As the past has proven, owning a backup with the sole purpose of waiting until the starter gets hurt can pay dividends.

10. Bradon Marshall

Seattle’s pass-happy offense thrives with tall athletic receivers. If Doug Baldwin’s injury keeps him out, Brandon Marshall could be a serviceable flex play in week 2.

On April 11, 2017, Governor Cuomo set forth a program that aims to help financially struggling students in New York. This program is called “The Excelsior Scholarship Program,” and it provides New York student residents with free tuition in all of its state (SUNY) and city colleges (CUNY). This program acts as a last resort type of scholarship that covers the balance of your tuition after your Pell Grant and TAP (NYS Tuition Assistance Program) are considered. To be eligible for this scholarship, there are a few requirements:

An applicant must:

• be a resident of NYS and have resided in NYS for 12 continuous months before the beginning of the term;
• be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen;
• have either graduated from high school in the United States, earned a high school equivalency diploma, or passed a federally approved “Ability to Benefit” test, as defined by the Commissioner of the State Education Department;
• have a combined federal adjusted gross income of $110,000 or less;
• be pursuing an undergraduate degree at a SUNY or CUNY college, including community colleges and the statutory colleges at Cornell University and Alfred University;
• be enrolled in at least 12 credits per term and complete at least 30 credits each year (successively), applicable toward his or her degree program;
• if attended college before the 2018-19 academic year, have earned at least 30 credits each year (successively), applicable toward his or her degree program before applying for an Excelsior Scholarship;
• be in a non-default status on a student loan made under any NYS or federal education loan program or on the repayment of any NYS award;
• be in compliance with the terms of the service condition(s) imposed by an NYS award that you have previously received; and
• execute a Contract agreeing to reside in NYS for the length of time the award was received, and, if employed during such time, be employed in NYS.

Excelsior Scholarship: Free Tuition At NY State Schools

With the state reaching one step closer to achieve the goal of affordable college for all, this news became life-altering for many poor families in New York. However, as this program goes on, many are starting to think that this may be too good to be true.

A study done in August 2017 was released by the Center for an Urban Future, a nonprofit group, showing data on the few numbers of students who actually benefited from this scholarship. Out of 633,543 undergraduates in New York State, The Excelsior Scholarship Program only helped 20,086 students. That means 97% of applicants were rejected from Cuomo’s program. The numbers became grimmer as data focused on CUNY schools. Analysis shows that even fewer students in CUNY community colleges compared to SUNY schools have benefited from it. For example, with 95,951 community college students, only 820 of them received help from The Excelsior Scholarship. That is 0.9 percent of the total number.

With the conflict between the program’s agenda and the grim reality of the number of students being accepted, it has been an uphill battle between the state and students that went on for almost a year.

So why are the numbers of accepted applicants so low?

The Center for an Urban Future revealed that the heavy credit requirements were the main issues for students. Almost twice as many applicants were rejected for “not having sufficient credits”. The state needs to make appropriate reforms to the Excelsior Scholarship Program to be able to support students who need financial help. With these many students not being able to reach the requirements of having 30 credits a year, changes will need to be made in order for it to be aligned with the program’s well-intended goals. If that can’t be done soon, many students and families will be back from where they started.

The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole announced on Tuesday, Sept. 11, that Wanda Barzee, who helped her husband, Brian Mitchell, kidnap Elizabeth Smart from her bedroom in Salt Lake City would be released early from Utah prison after receiving “time served” for her 15-year stint in a Texas federal prison. Barzee and Mitchell made Smart’s life a living hell while holding her captive.

Smart responded after the news was announced.

“It is incomprehensible how someone who has not cooperated with her mental health evaluations or risk assessments and some who did not show up to her own parole hearing can be released into our community,” Smart said in a statement. “I am trying to understand how and why this is happened and exploring possible options.”

What Happened?

In June 2009, Smart was kidnapped at knifepoint from her bedroom in Salt Lake City. Smart was just 14 years old when she had been abducted by Wanda Barzee and her husband, Brian Mitchell. In May 2010, Barzee was sentenced to one to 15 years in state prison for aggravated kidnapping as a second-degree felony. Mitchell, meanwhile, is serving two life sentences for kidnapping and sexual assault.

Smart said she was raped nearly every day during nine months in captivity and forced to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes and watch Mitchell have sex with his legal wife, Wanda Barzee. She was forced to wear robes and a veil in public and was not permitted to speak to other people. She said she feared Mitchell would act on his threats to kill her and her family if she did. She said Mitchell told her their marriage was preordained and that she would be by his side as he took seven times seven wives and successfully battled the Antichrist. They would hold exalted positions in God’s new kingdom, she was told.

The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole announced Tuesday, Sept. 11 that Barzee, now 72 years old, would be released on Sept. 19.

“Upon further review and advice from legal counsel, the board must count time spent in federal custody toward Ms. Barzee’s state sentence,” Greg Johnson of the Utah board said in a letter, via FOX News.

Smart has since written a book about her kidnapping and life which has also been turned into a Lifetime movie.

Who is Wanda Barzee?

Wanda Barzee was sentenced to a 15-year sentence for her role in the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart, who was just 12 years old when she was abducted by her home at gunpoint. On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole announced that Barzee would be released the following week.

Barzee completed a 15-year stint in federal charges and was then sent to the Utah prison system to serve a state sentence after pleading guilty for her role in an attempted kidnapping in connection in a plot to kidnap Smart’s cousin.

Barzee was set to serve six more years in Utah prison at the time of her release.

Fans of Mac Miller that want to pay respect to the late artist but can’t attend tonight’s candlelight vigil are in luck as there are currently a couple of ways to live stream the event.

Miller, born Malcolm James McCormick on January 19, 1992, in Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania, died of a suspected overdose in San Fernando Valley, California, on Friday, September 6. He was just 26-years-old.

In the reaction, Eminem says his beef is about more than Machine Gun Kelly’s previous tweet about his daughter Hailie.

“You know you go down the wormhole of YouTube and whatever, right?” Eminem told Sway. “So I see, ‘Machine Gun Kelly talks about Eminem’s daughter’ or whatever, right?
