Iowa DCI

Cristhian Rivera, the man who was arrested for the murder of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts, has caught the attention of President Donald Trump. It was only a matter of time until the president chimed in on the incident, with Rivera reportedly living in the United States illegally for up to seven years.

At a rally in Charleston, West Virginia late Tuesday night, just hours after Rivera’s arrest, Trump commented on the situation and used it as a way to continue his push for stronger immigration laws.

“You heard about today with the illegal alien coming in, very sadly, from Mexico, and you saw what happened to that incredible, beautiful young woman. Should’ve never happened. Illegally in our country,” Trump said. “We’ve had a huge impact but the laws are so bad,” he continued. “The immigration laws are such a disgrace. We’re getting them changed, but we have to get more Republicans.”

The 24-year-old suspect is believed to have abducted Tibbetts while she was out for a jog in her hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa. Rivera, a Mexican national, is being held on a federal immigration detainer.

From CBS News:

Rivera said Tibbetts grabbed her phone and said “I’m gonna call the police,” according to the affidavit. Rivera said he “panicked and got mad,” and then said he “blocked” his memory, “which is what he does when he gets very upset.” He said he couldn’t remember anything after that until he came to at an intersection.

Rivera said he made a U-turn and drove into the driveway of a cornfield, where he saw an earpiece from headphones in his lap, “and that is how he realized he put her in the trunk.”

Rivera told police he got Tibbetts from the trunk and noticed blood on the side of her head, the affidavit says. He described her clothing and said she was wearing headphones. He said he dragged her on foot from his vehicle to a secluded location in the cornfield and then put her on his shoulder and took her about 20 meters into the field. He allegedly said he covered Tibbetts in corn leaves and left her face-up.

Our thoughts are with Tibbetts’ family and friends during this tragic time.

Despite being wildly intelligent, super handsome and preposterously rich, Ben Affleck really is just like the rest of us.

All he wants to do is kick back, smoke some cigarettes, drink a little whiskey, maybe gamble on some sports, and sleep with models half his age. Ya know, just a regular ole Joe if you ask me.

And after divorcing (former COED cover girl) Jennifer Garner and breaking up with SNL producer Lindsay Shookus, it seems as though Ben as finally found his newest slam piece: 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton.

Sexton, Playboys 2018’s Playmate of the Month for May, is a Virginia native and former Old Navy girl who was spotted leaving Nobu restaurant in Malibu, California, with Affleck earlier this month.

Sexton isn’t only just beauty, though, as she is a full-time veterinary technician who pulls 12-hour shifts at an emergency clinic specializing in small-breed animals.

Former UFC fighter Dean Lister documented a wild moment inside of his home. The 42-year-old recorded video of a man who was inside of his home robbing his house. Lister pulled a gun on the man, who picked up a hammer and was threatening towards the former mixed martial artist.

“Off camera I drew a sidearm and he stopped advancing toward me,” Lister said, via TMZ Sports. “I LET him escape with his life through a window. Cops said I was legally good if I killed him.”

At 8PM pacific time, here in San Diego I walked in on a meth head ripping me off. At the end of the video, he raises a pipe at me, off camera I drew a sidearm and he stopped advancing toward me. I LET him escape with his life through a window. Cops said I was legally good if I killed him. But is that what I want? In the end, he stole plenty of $$$$$ from me. This video is for “hopefully” anyone who knows who this meth head is. White dude, skinny, methe’d out with his tattoos. Police are on it but if anyone knows who he is please help me,,, thank you very much,

Lister, a former King of the Cage middleweight champion, sparring partner of ex-UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz and coach on season 3 of The Ultimate Fighter, is a fourth-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He holds an overall professional record of 13-7.

In his most recent outing, which came in January 2015, Lister scored a first-round submission victory over Michael Knaap via heel hook. He was on a two-fight winning streak, with his earlier win coming three years earlier at Cage Contender 13 when he submitted Rodney Moore in the third round with an inverted heel hook.

Richie Incognito Arrested, Allegedly Asked Funeral Home To Remove Father’s Head

We warn you, this Richie Incognito story is dark. Like, send a shiver down your spine, dark.

On Monday, August 20, Incognito, 35, was arrested and booked on charges on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of threats and disorderly conduct after he threatened to shoot employees of a funeral home during his father’s funeral.

According to police, Incognito arrived at the Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary in Scottsdale on Monday to make arrangements for his father, who died last weekend.

The initial report stated that Incognito “reportedly was upset with staff and began to damage property inside the business and shout at employees.”

Furthermore, Sgt. Ben Hoster, a police spokesman said that “at several points during his contact with staff, Incognito threatened to retrieve guns from his vehicle and return to shoot the employees.”

After executing a search warrant on Incognito’s pickup truck and seized two Glocks, three rifles and a silencer for a handgun.

Now, a new report from TMZ says that Incognito wanted the funeral home to “remove his father’s head” for “research purposes”.

via TMZ:

Richie arrived to Messinger Mortuary on Monday after his father passed away. One staffer told police the family had advised him that Richie would not be allowed to attend the funeral because he’d been “acting erratically.” When staff confronted Richie, he began “punching caskets and throwing things.

One staffer told cops, Richie told him he had a truck full of guns outside and used his hand to make the shape of a gun. The staffer clearly felt threatened and said he ran into a secure room where he knew he’d be safe.

When cops arrived, they arrested Incognito at gunpoint. Cops say Richie “appeared to lack concentration and was unable to maintain a coherent thought, rather, he appeared to ramble about numerous things that did not correlate.” Cops say his mood would swing from respectful and calm to angry.

At this point, it’s too early to say exactly what’s happening inside Incognito’s mind, but whatever it may be — whether it’s substance abuse, CTE, personality disorder, or otherwise — it’s a very serious issue and needs to be attended to immediately. Incognito is in an extremely dark place and he’s going to need some serious help getting out of it.

Weed Strain Of The Week: Trainwreck

As the years go by and the youth become the adults, weed has assimilated itself more and more into everyday life, and therefore, everyday business. Medical marijuana, commercial marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, literal marijuana commercials, edible marijuana, marijuana oil, marijuana magazines, and now, COED marijuana articles. Everybody else in the United States seems to be getting in on the reefer madness, so we’ve decided to do the same by introducing a new franchise: Weed Strain of the Week.

When I think of weed strains, the first thing that comes to mind is the 2008 stoner comedy classic Pineapple Express. In one of the earliest scenes of the movie, Saul explains to Dale how fire his newest strain of marijuana — Pineapple Express — is by only referring to previous strains that Dale had smoked.

“This is like if that Blue Oyster shit met that Afghan Kush I had – and they had a baby. And then, meanwhile, that crazy Northern Light stuff I had and the Super Red Espresso Snowflake met and had a baby. And by some miracle, those two babies met and fucked – this would the shit that they birthed.”

The strain “Super Red Espresso Snowflake” always stood out because it’s the perfect skewering of drug dealers who tried tell you what kind of strain you were buying: they were really just making shit up. However, now that legal marijuana and dispensaries exist, actual marijuana strains are more prevalent than ever, so we figured it’s time we start learning them all, one by one.

This week’s Weed Strain of the Week? Trainwreck.

Trainwreck

– Species: Sativa-dominant hybrid

– About (via Leafly):

Trainwreck is a mind-bending hybrid with potent sativa effects that hit like a freight train. Mexican and Thai sativas were bred with Afghani indicas to produce this Northern California staple, passing on a sweet lemon and spicy pine aroma. Trainwreck begins its speedy hurtle through the mind with a surge of euphoria, awakening creativity and happiness. Migraines, pain, and arthritis are mowed down by Trainwreck’s high THC content, and many patients also use it for relief of anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and PTSD. Trainwreck flowers finish up in early October outdoors, while indoor gardens are ready for harvest 8 weeks into flowering.

– History (via Wikileaf):

This strain was supposedly the creation of two Californian brothers back in the late 1970s. It is a mix of three other strains of Thai (Sativa), Mexican (Sativa) and Afghani (Indica). In its true form, Trainwreck is ninety percent Sativa and only ten percent Indica. As the story goes the two brothers had to pull their crop early because there was a nasty train wreck that happened near their grow site and they didn’t want it discovered, thus the name.

Trainwreck can grow well both indoors and outdoors. Plants of this strain grow fairly tall but the Indica in them causes them to fill out well. Inside grown in hydro a single plant can yield up to 500 grams in a square meter. When grown in soil outside Trainwreck plants are ready for harvesting in early October and can yield up to 700 grams. This strain flowers somewhere between eight and ten weeks.

How Much Is The UFC Worth Today?

How much is the UFC worth today? The Ultimate Fighting Championship sold for a whopping $4 billion on Monday, July 11, 2017. The mixed martial arts promotion was acquired by WME-IMG, which partnered with its owner Silver Lake Partners, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, and investment firm MSD Capital to make the purchase.

At the time of the deal, it marked the most expensive transaction for an organization in sports history.

But with pay-per-view sales declining and stars like Jon Jones, Conor McGregor, and Ronda Rousey either leaving the sport, serving suspensions or taking lengthy hiatuses, the company has been struggling in recent months. That doesn’t mean the bottom line or valuation of the company has been impacted, however.

In a recent interview, UFC boss Dana White claimed that the company is now worth $7 billion.

“When you think about it we haven’t even scratched the surface yet of how big this thing can be,” White told Tony Robbins in an interview, via MMAjunkie.com. “We just did a TV deal with ESPN for $1.5 billion for five years. Now the company is worth $7 billion.

“Obviously this ESPN deal is going to be massive for us, expose us to millions of people just here in the U.S. that haven’t been exposed to the UFC. We’re going to continue to go into markets we haven’t been, we’re going to continue to find the best talent in the world. I love to find up-and-coming talent. I love to find the next guy or girl. Continue to build the sport. That’s it. That’s my focus. It’s not rocket science, it’s nothing crazy. Just continue to do what we do and get bigger and bigger.”

So while there may be a perceived slump for the promotion, business would appear to be booming.

ESPN – UFC Deal: Info & Must-See Details

Instagram Photo

The UFC and ESPN officially came to a multi-year deal to air UFC fights and content on ESPN+, as well as across all of their television, social and digital platforms on May 8, 2018.

Dana White, President of the UFC, said with regards to the deal:

“I couldn’t be more excited to partner with The Walt Disney Company and ESPN on an agreement that will continue to grow our sport. UFC has always done deals with the right partners at the right time and this one is no exception. We will now have the ability to deliver fights to our young fan base wherever they are and whenever they want it. This deal is a home run for ESPN and UFC.”

The deal is set to take effect in January of 2019 as fights and content become available on ESPN services.

FOX previously held television rights for the UFC, but their seven-year deal which pays $200 million per year is set to expire at the end of the year. The UFC and FOX had an exclusive negotiation period, but they were never able to agree to terms.

The Gang Is Back: ‘It’s Always Sunny’ Drops Hilarious Season 13 Trailer

Despite entering their 13th season, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia remains as hilarious and shocking as ever.

Given the events that unfold in this first-look trailer, The Gang seems to be up to their old sick and sadistic ways — with or without Dennis (permanently) in the fold.

The official synopsis for It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia season 13:

“The gang has its hands full as Charlie hopes to have a child, Mac explores his sexuality, Dee takes feminism to new heights, and Frank tries to experience the= greatest moment in Philadelphia sports history.”

In a 74-second trailer full of WTF moments, the one that caught my eye the most (other than the whole Dennis sex-doll thing) was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it clip of Charlie apparently impersonating Kramer from Seinfeld.

And while he does not appear in the trailer, Glenn Howerton’s Dennis has been confirmed to appear in some season 13 episodes after he decided to move to North Dakota in the season 12 finale.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia returns to FXX on Wednesday, September 5, and will likely continue its epic run as the funniest, yet most twisted, show on television.

Nicki Minaj Needs To Pull A Kim Kardashian If She Wants To Remain The Queen

Instagram Photo

“Pulling a Kim Kardashian.”

If you have enough internet wits about you, then you know exactly what I mean. And if you don’t know what I mean, then I’m not sure how you’ve survived this long without a modicum of common sense.

Anyway — whether you understand what it means to “pull a Kardashian” or not — Nicki Minaj needs to do it.

Following the disappointing sales of her latest album Queen, her beef with Travis Scott, the North American leg of her tour being canceled, and Cardi B generally stealing her thunder over the last couple of years, Nicki Minaj is in desperate need of a slump buster.

via Page Six:

Industry sources told us that Minaj has been “freaking out” about painfully slow ticket sales for her North America tour with Future, which had been scheduled to start next month, but was canceled late Tuesday night.

A Live Nation source told us, “Nicki’s tour looked to be the most disappointing ticket sales of the year for any artist. She and Future were booked in big arenas with around 20,000 capacities.

As of Tuesday, the source added, “Sales for opening night in Baltimore were just 2,000 tickets. LA was 3,400 – for a 17,000 capacity venue – New Orleans 1,000, Denver 1,300, Chicago 3,900. Even Nicki’s hometown of Brooklyn, the Barclays Center (which has a capacity of 19,000) sold only 5,050 tickets.”

And what better slump buster is there then pulling a Kim Kardashian, a move that’s given its namesake a decade-long, nearly billion-dollar career?

Think about it, Kim’s original Kardashian came out over a decade ago — long before Twitter and Instagram were the behemoth social media platforms they are today — and it STILL broke the internet.

Could you IMAGINE how Twitter would react if Nicki dropped a Kardashian? Nicki is essentially already a Kardashian anyway: totally fake from head to toe, but hey, at least she can rap.

Plus, let’s be honest with each other here: who among us would not watch Nicki Minaj pull a Kardashian? That video would do record-breaking, internet-shattering numbers at my apartment alone.

Nicki Minaj has been Queen of the rap game for a while now, but if she isn’t careful, she could lose her crown sooner then she anticipates. But if she pulls a Kardashian, she’ll remain on the mountaintop for another decade.

We’ve seen it work for Kim, so why wouldn’t it work for Nicki? Exactly.

Urban Meyer Suspension: Full Story & Must-See Details

Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer has been suspended. After a lengthy meeting between the Ohio State University Board of Trustees, university president, and more, it was determined that the Buckeyes leading man will be off the sidelines for the first three games of the team’s 2018 campaign.

The university also suspended Gene Smith, the Vice President and Athletic Director at Ohio State.

From 10 TV:

Urban Meyer is suspended through September 2, 2018, and for the games on September 1, 8 and 15 without pay. Gene Smith is suspended without pay from August 31-September 16.

“Although neither Urban Meyer nor Gene Smith condoned or covered up the alleged domestic abuse by Zach Smith, they failed to take sufficient management action,”a statement from the university said.

“I am fully aware of the situation that has harmed the university as a whole. I followed by heart, not my head. I gave Zach Smith the benefit of the doubt. I didn’t know everything about what Zach Smith was doing. I should have recognized the red flags,” Meyer said in a statement, via college football insider Brett McMurphy. “Most of what I know about Zach Smith is work related. The biggest regret is I wish I knew more. If so, I would have taken action much quicker.”

An investigation led by the university also determined that Meyer did have previous knowledge of domestic violence allegations against former wide receivers coach Zach Smith in 2015 which he was allegedly told by Gene Smith.

“I want to express my sincere apologies for the situation we’re in,” Smith added.

Mary Jo White: Urban Meyer was aware of 2015 domestic violence allegations, he was informed of them by Gene Smith; both Meyer & Smith monitored the investigation for months. Gene Smith didn’t contact Ohio State compliance about the Smith domestic violence allegations

— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) August 23, 2018

The three games Meyer will miss are against Oregon State, Rutgers, and TCU.

The Buckeyes kick off their 2018 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 1 against Oregon State. There is no word on whether Ohio State will have Meyer back on the sidelines or whether he will ultimately cave and begin serving a suspension.

Here’s How Much Money Urban Meyer Is Losing During His Suspension

So, we all agree that Ohio State’s suspension of Urban Meyer for a mere three games is a joke, right? Just in case you somehow feel this punishment fits the crime, let me give you a little perspective of the situation real quick.

Back in 2010, when Terrelle Pryor and four other Buckeyes players were caught exchanging memorabilia and swag for free tattoos, they were forced to miss the first FIVE games of the season.

In case you aren’t much of a #math guy (don’t feel bad, neither am I), I’ll break it down really simply for you: give away some OSU gear for free ink? 5 games. Cover up domestic abuse? 3 games. It’s like the Ray Rice/Tom Brady thing all over again.

Anyway, speaking of math — since I was curious about the actual toll this is going to take on Meyer — I calculated how much money he’s going to lose during his suspension (since OSU at least had the balls to suspend him without pay.)

Meyer, who extended his contract to run until 2022 back in April, has a salary of $7.6 million in 2018, making him the third highest paid college football coach in the land (behind Saban and Sweeney but narrowly ahead of Harbaugh).

So, for the sake of this article, let’s assume college football contracts work the same as NFL contracts (which I doubt, but I’m also not Darren f*cking Rovell so cut me some slack), meaning Meyer’s salary is paid through “game checks” — a check given during each week of the season.

A base salary of $7.6 million divided by 12 games in a season means ONE of Meyer’s game checks is approximately $633,333. For #math purposes, we’ll round that up to $650,000.

SO, with all that said, that means Meyer will be losing about $1.95 million due to his suspension … which is about a quarter of his 2018 salary.

Is $2 million dollars a lot of money? Sureeee, to us regular folk. But when it’s someone who makes nearly $8 million a year for MANY years? It’s a slap-on-the-wrist, a mere mosquito bite.

Tammy Hembrow is a 24-year-old Australian Instagram model who was allegedly wheeled out of Kylie Jenner’s 21st birthday party “facedown on a stretcher” in August 2018.

Following the incident, which blew up the tabloids, Hembrow uploaded a video to YouTube to offer an apology to her fans. However, as Daily Mail points out, she did not mention the father of her two kids, Reece Hawkins, in the apology.

In the apology video, Hembrow says she should not have been drinking because of the jet lag and that she feels very “embarrassed” about the incident.

On her website, Hembrow stated that her main motivation is to “share what she’s learned along her own journey with women all over the world.”
