With the popularity of e-sports continuing to grow, gaming legends are being born in the industry. Enter Terrelle “Lil Majin” Jackson. Lil Majin has the distinction of being the best Tekken 7 player in the United States and his 2018 campaign has been full of incredible success as he burst into stardom.

In early 2018, Lil Majin, who is the best King player in the world, won Kumite in Tennessee which was the first Tekken 7 major of the year. His success continued with a top-4 finish at CEO and now an incredible run at the Evolution Championship Series in Las Vegas where he made the Top 8 Winners. Majin was running through opponents on his way to the Top 8.

Lil Majin continued his incredible run at EVO 2018 by knocking off South Korea’s Echo Fox JDCR to reach the Winner’s Finals and given the United States a player in the top 4.

Lil Majin ultimately finished in third place, becoming the highest placing American ever at EVO in the Tekken 7 era.

How did Lil Majin get his name? From a Dragon Ball Z reference.

As most could guess, the “Majin” name is a Dragon Ball Z reference. My big brother went by the alias of “MajinSSJ6Goku” on multiple forums and message boards and I figured that I’d go by “Lil MajinSSJ6Goku” since I was his little brother. However, the name was way too long and easily made fun of; therefore, I shortened it to “Lil Majin.” My brother also shortened his name after a few years to “Big Majin.” The rest is history!

How long has Lil Majin played Tekken? At least two decades.

I’ve been playing Tekken since Tekken 1. I’ve forgotten how old me and my brother were when we started Tekken, but it has definitely been about 20 years! My brother and I have always loved fighting games and with Tekken being our absolute favorite, it was easy to keep playing it every iteration since the game kept getting better and better with each.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was one of the most recent NFL players to comment on the ongoing national anthem controversy. While many players have voiced their support of players who choose to protest, Prescott came out with some comments that fell exactly in line with what his team’s owner Jerry Jones wants players to say.

Jones has prohibited his players from protesting, and Prescott echoed that decision saying it wasn’t the right thing for him to do.

“I respect what all those guys believe in,” Prescott said. “If they believe it’s going to make a change and it’s going to make a difference, then power to them. But for me, I believe in doing something, action. It’s not about taking a knee. It’s not necessarily about standing. We can find a different place to make our country better.”

That led to some backlash — including being named “Donkey of the Week” by The Breakfast Club — but the harshest criticism came in his own city. 29-year-old artist Trey Wilder painted a mural of Prescott, which draws inspiration from the hit movie Get Out when the main character was hypnotized and officially fell into the sunken place; the antithesis of being woke.

Don’t forget, Kanye West got the “Get Out” treatment earlier this year when he shared a photo of himself in a “Make America Great Again” hat while voicing support for president Donald Trump.

“I was just thinking about some of the scenes in the movie where the guy was hypnotized, and that’s what I believed [Prescott’s] remarks seemed like,” Wilder said, via the Dallas News.

Tekken 7

If you’re a fan of Tekken 7, Sunday was a great day. We got to witness the Top 8 at EVO 2018 play out, which included a top three run from American legend Terrelle “Lil Majin” Jackson. The day also included announcements about new DLC for the game which will be bringing a taste of the AMC hit show The Walking Dead to the Tekken universe.

Negan is known for his brutal beatings on The Walking Dead with his barbed wire baseball bat Lucille. His addition to the game — which cames as part of season 2 for Tekken 7 — was announced at EVO in Las Vegas.

Other characters that will be available to download are returning characters Anna Williams and Lei Wulong. There are three additional downloadable characters that have yet to be revealed.

Special characters from the Tekken 7 season 1 pass were Geese Howard from the Fatal Fury series and Noctis from Final Fantasy 15.

While there is no date or price point for Tekken 7’s season 2 pass, Bandai Namco said it is “coming soon” to PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.

College can be nerve-racking when for first-year college students. They are now a tiny fish in a much larger pond. Well, more like an ocean, but you get the picture. Plan Ahead With Roommates

Depending on how many roommates you have, get into contact with them a week or two before to prepare your dorm room. Split up the more significant items you all want. Have one take over the electronics while you take the fridge and kitchen items, or switch it. Sometimes planning with your roommate will make moving day a little more comfortable with what you need to carry in, it also helps with not having two of the same thing. You don’t need two microwaves in one room.

Pack The Essentials First

Moving day sucks, everyone is moving in the same day, and you can never avoid the crowds. So, carrying a fridge across campus is never a good idea especially with hundreds of other students doing the same thing. Be smart, pack the essential items. Like, bedding, shower gear, clothing, class stuff, and toiletries. Wait to get the bigger stuff either the next day or the day after. That way everyone is all moved in, and there are fewer people to have to walk around when lifting the more significant items.

Organize Your Room Later

Some students are super excited to decorate their room or set it up. Our best advice, save it for later in the afternoon. Get all your stuff into your dorm room before you start making your bed. You need all the strength to get your bags and boxes to your place. Once you have everything in your room, you have permission from us to start unpacking.

See What You Need & Plan For The Next Day Purchases

Once entirely moved in and unpacked, talk to your roommate and see what you need to get. This is where you plan for your more significant items to come in. Do you want to get a TV, a stereo system, mini-fridge, coffee maker? The big pieces you can last a few days without and can go grab at Target when the campus is less crowded. You will thank us later.

UFC 227 is in the books and the fighter salaries from the event have been released. Following the conclusion of this weekend’s pay-per-view at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the California State Athletic Commission released the purses for each fighter on the card. When it was all said and down, the four fighters participating in title fights — bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw, Cody Garbrandt, new flyweight titleholder Henry Cejudo, and Demetrious Johnson — all cleared six-figures.

Leading the way was former flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, who earned $380,000 in a stunning loss to Henry Cejudo. The Olympic gold medalist, meanwhile, hauled in $100,000 for shocking the mixed martial arts world.

In the main event, TJ Dillashaw pocketed $350,000 for his first-round knockout of Cody Garbrandt, who earned $200,000.

The figures released do not include any money from outside sponsors, Reebok outfitting numbers or outside sponsorships for the athletes. UFC 227 purses also exclude any locker room bonuses which include the $50,000 for Fight of the Night and Performance of the night bonuses.

An automobile accident has caused a large explosion and fire near Bologna airport after a fuel tanker crashed and exploded. The explosion has reportedly left least 55 people injured and one person dead. In addition, a nearby bridge has partially collapsed.

Police are currently responding to the scene. A “crater” has been left in the highway due to the explosion. At this time, that is all the information that is available.

The tanker is believed to have set on fire after crashing into the back of a car transporter lorry. The fire then spread to the fuel causing a huge explosion that engulfed emergency workers who were first to arrive on the scene.

Around 56 people have been injured and 14 of them are in hospital in a serious condition. Some of the victims were hit by flying debris and breaking glass. Cars in a Peugeot dealership underneath the motorway through the Italian city were also set on fire and buildings nearby were damaged in the blasts.

Emergency workers can be seen close to one of the biggest explosions but have no time to move out of the way. Local police said that there had been a collision on the motorway and an explosion happened in the subsequent fire.

Tyler Mitchell burst onto the photography scene in 2018, being named the Artsy Breakout Artist of the Year. Now, he is generating even more attention and trending nationwide on Twitter after shooting an iconic photoshoot of Beyonce for the September issue cover of Vogue.

Beyonce allegedly handpicked Mitchell to shoot the cover for the magazine, making him the first black photographer to shoot Vogue’s cover in their 126-year history.

Mitchell is just 23 years old, also making him one of the youngest photographers to ever shoot the cover of Vogue.

While many would expect an A-list celebrity like Beyonce to be protective and demand some artistic control of a photoshoot, Mitchell said she was very open-minded and allowed him to make his vision become a reality.

“When she sat down for me there was immediately the kind of comfort level you’d have with a friend, which was quite unexpected,” he told Vogue. “You’d imagine someone as famous as Beyoncé to be protective of her image, but she was really an open book—and that’s exactly what you want as a photographer.

“It’s funny because I’m pretty sure she headlined the first concert I ever went to, when I was maybe eight or nine, so you could say we met in a past life.”

Georges St-Pierre last fought in the UFC in November 2017 against Michael Bisping at Madison Square Garden in New York City. St-Pierre submitted Bisping in the main event of UFC 217 to claim the middleweight championship, before vacating the title the following month. It was the second title that St-Pierre vacated during his UFC career, previously giving up the welterweight belt in November 2013.

Since his fight in New York, St-Pierre has kept a relatively low profile but a recent media event ahead of an Australian tour revealed what could interest him in a return to the cage.

The fight that has St-Pierre interested? The upcoming Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor lightweight title fight at UFC 229 in Las Vegas. Of course, St-Pierre understands the UFC may be hesitant to give him a shot at a third title due to his history of vacating the belts.

“I would be interested in that fight,” St-Pierre said, via Submission Radio. “That’s a win-win situation. It’s a legacy upgrade and it’s good money. It’s going to be a big fight.

“However, I fought at 170. I relinquished the title (in 2013). Then I fought at 185. I relinquished the title (in 2017). I don’t think the UFC will let me fight for the title at 155. They will be afraid that I’ll relinquish and leave the division in ruins again.”

St-Pierre also said he was not interested in a fight with Nate Diaz which was offered by the UFC earlier this year, and he was also not excited for a dream superfight against Anderson Silva.

Could St-Pierre vs. the winner of Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor be a fight that interests mixed martial arts fans? Absolutely. Is it something that the UFC would be willing to do with the possibility of St-Pierre vacating another title and leaving a division without a champion? We will have to see.

Always short on talent, you can count on his squads to pull one out each season. In 2016 the Orange defeated a BCS hopeful Virginia Tech team and was followed up with one of the most legendary speeches by a coach the world has ever seen. A year ago, his team beat the defending champions Clemson in the Carrier Dome; the biggest win in upstate New York for over two decades. But as mentioned before, his teams are always inferior when it comes to depth and talent, and 2018 is looking like the same story. It won’t even matter if quarterback Eric Dungey is healthy or not because the team would be better off seeing what they have in highly touted four-star recruit Tommy Devito. Whoever it ends up being, the road to five wins would be something to cheer up. The Orange will be an underdog in every ACC game and with non-conference games against a tough Western Michigan team and Notre Dame, it is looking like Dino Babers heroics could be coming to an end.

Mala Luna Music Festival

The 2018 Mala Luna Music Festival lineup was announced on Monday, Aug. 6 for the two-day event which takes place Oct. 27-28 at Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio, Texas. The festival — which takes place during San Antonio’s Diá de los Muertos celebration — will be headlined by the one and only Cardi B. The news comes one week after she withdrew from Bruno Mars’ tour to be with her newborn child.

Cardi B will now be headlining the event along with Tyler, the Creator.

Other musical acts that will participate in the festival are Lil Pump, Rich the Kid, Smokepurpp, Becky G, Nicky Jam, BlocBoy JB, and more.

Portions of the proceeds from the Mala Luna Music Festival will be donated to Network for Young Artists, “a nonprofit organization that provides low-cost music training, as well as equipment rentals, to youth and teenagers.” It is the third year in a row that the festival has donated to NYA, with $15,000 donated in 2016 and again in 2017.

General admission and VIP tickets can be purchased at www.MalaLuna.com. Weekend general admission tickets are available for $109, while the two-day VIP tickets start at $159.

The following year, Harrier starred in the Spike Lee biographical crime film BlacKkKlansman.

While Harrier was born in Chicago, Illinois, she was raised in Evanston, Illinois, where she attended Evanston Township High School until her graduation in 2008. After high school, Harrier moved to New York City when she was just 18 to attend the New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study. After attending NYU Gallatin, Harrier studied at the William Esper Studio acting school in New York City.

Harrier made her professional acting debut as Destiny Evans in the reboot of American soap opera One Life to Live. She has also been in projects such as The Last Five Years in 2014, and 4th Man Out in 2016. She then made her feature film debut in the Marvel Studios film Spider-Man: Homecoming as Peter Parker’s love interest and the daughter of the antagoinst, Adrian Toomes.

In 2018, Harrier starred in the HBO film Fahrenheit 451 — although her footage was cut from the film — and the aformentioned BlacKkKlansman, a Spike Lee-directed movie about an African American police officer who infiltrates the KKK using his “white man” voice.

The Long Night is upon us. In our time of need and Game of Thrones withdrawal, I chatted with season 7 breakout star Wilf Scolding who portrays the infamous Rhaegar Targaryen. I got to go ten rounds with this legend asking everything from his character prep to what he would name his own dragons!

Not only did Scolding bring the character that single-handedly stirred the events leading up to the entire gist of Game of Thrones to life, but his deep appreciation for the role and the show we all love make him that much more endearing. As a fan and admirer, I hope we get to see more of Mr. Scolding as Rhaegar Targaryen in the final season of Game of Thrones set to air on HBO the first half of 2019.

What advice would you give to your son with Lyanna Stark, Jon Snow, if you could tell him anything as a father about how to fight The Great War against the Night King?

WS: “I’d tell him to play to his strengths, which are many, and trust his instincts.”

Did you draw any inspiration for your portrayal of Rhaegar from the book lore or was the show sufficient in preparation for the role?

WS: “I read everything I could about Rhaegar because he’s such an important character. I wanted to do him justice so I wrote down everything every other character wrote about him in the show as well.”

So much conflict and death came from the annulment of the marriage between Rhaegar and Elia. Do you feel like your character had pure motives marrying for love despite the tragic outcome?

WS: “I personally think Rhaegar was driven by love and by prophecy – both seem to have been very important to him.”

While you haven’t physically been on the show for long, your character defined many others since the series’ inception. What was it like to be cast as Rhaegar Targaryen knowing the importance of what he brings to the Game of Thrones world?

WS: “It was a huge honor to be cast as Rhaegar, I couldn’t believe it! I will always feel lucky.”

Did you get the opportunity to meet or interact with fellow actors on the show to help bring your performance to life?

WS: “I met Sophie, Maisie, Isaac, and Peter Dinklage very briefly, which impressed upon me the reality of the magic of the world I had been welcomed into. They were all lovely and very welcoming themselves.”

How do you think your character differs from your on-screen sister, Daenerys, in terms of leadership?

WS: “I think Rhaegar loved his people, but I think he was born into power and responsibility whereas Daenerys gained power through her own efforts and struggle. Because of this, I think Rhaegar perhaps felt more inclined to follow his heart when he fell in love, whereas (in my opinion) Daenerys never forgets her responsibilities to her people.”

You have a dragon named after you. That’s a pretty significant tribute. If the roles were reversed, what would your character name his dragons?

WS: “It’s pretty cool! I’d name them Daenarion, Elion, and Lyannon.”

If you were to support a house, other than Targaryen, which would it be and why?

WS: “Stark! Because I married one!”

Given the opportunity, do you think Rhaegar would have met with Robert Baratheon to openly address the Lyanna situation or would he always prefer the battlefield?

WS: “I think from the books we can say Rhaegar would have preferred a settlement that didn’t involve fighting, but Robert had had his wife stolen… emotions were running high!”

What has been the highlight for you as an actor with being part of the Game of Thrones family and what memories will you hold on to the most?

WS: “I loved it all. The costume, the wig, the world, the other actors, being part of one of the greatest shows ever made has been a massive privilege. The fans are great as well!”

If you aren’t Team Targaryen after reading this interview you must owe a hefty fee to the Iron Bank. Not only does Mr. Scolding share his insight on what makes Rhaegar tick, but his words truly humanize this legendary figure who has been a looming presence since the show began. Rhaegar was just a solid guy who fell in love — and the audience fell in love with him in return! I can’t wait to see what happens in the final season of Game of Thrones and no matter who winds up on the Iron Throne, I hope we get to see more Rhaegar before the game is over!

When you are a driver, you have to think fast at high speeds to make decisions that can make or break your race. For dirt track racer Logan Seavey, that led to an improbably move that has since gone viral. The 21-year-old driver, who is the USAC National Midget points leader this season, made a daring move over the weekend to avoid a crash.

After cars got tangled up in front of him, Seavey was drifting around a turn where he seemingly had nowhere to go.

That’s when Seavey made the snap decision to avoid the cars on the track by driving up the fence and then continuing on down the backstretch. Luckily, someone in the crowd was able to capture the incredible moment on video and Seavey took to social media to share the wild scene.

Earlier this year, Seavey made his NASCAR debut in the Camping World Truck Series race at Eldora Speedway on July 18. Seavey was driving the No. 51 Mobil 1 Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports. Seavey led a portion of the race but ultimately finished in eigth-place. If he is able to hang on to the points lead in the 2017 POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, it will be his second straight championship.

The Toyota Racing Development driver definitely has a future in the sport and his willingness to do the seemingly impossible should get him more opportunities on the track as he continues to climb the ranks.

Former NFL executive Tom Heckert has passed away at age 51. The former Cleveland Browns general manager and Denver Broncos senior personnel advisor reportedly passed away peacefully on Sunday night in the company of his family, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Broncos confirmed the news in a statement on Monday morning.

“Tom was an integral part of our organization and we’re all incredibly saddened today,” Broncos general manager and president of football operations John Elway said in a statement. “With his many years of experience and time as a GM, Tom was a tremendous resource and a key member of our team. He was a very good evaluator — he had an eye for talent, and we always trusted his voice. It’s easy to see why Tom was widely respected and had so many great relationships across the league. I’ll always be grateful for how he helped me transition into this position.

“My prayers go out to Tom’s family, friends and everyone he worked with during his career.”

Tom Heckert Cause of Death: Currently Unknown

Heckert stepped away from the Broncos organization to focus on his health earlier this year. The 51-year-old was diagnosed with a treatable blood disorder back in 2016 and had decided to take time away in order to get treatment and return to 100 percent. Heckert had spent nearly three decades in the NFL, being part of three conference championship appearances and one Super Bowl championship. Heckert’s teams made the playoffs 17 times, more than half of his career as an executive.

At the time of his passing, Heckert was surrounded by his family. There is no official word on his cause of death at this time.

The Delta Gamma sorority at Harvard University has decided to close its doors instead of complying with the university’s new co-ed requirements.

In 2016, Harvard University told the school’s Greek life affiliates that they must either become co-ed organizations or forfeit members’ opportunities to hold leadership positions on campus and to win the university’s endorsement for prestigious postgraduate fellowships. According to The Crimson, beginning with the class of 2021, the school’s policy will ban undergraduate members of these groups from certain leadership positions, athletic captaincies, and postgraduate fellowships.

Just one week after the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority announced that they would now be Theta Zeta Xi,  Delta Gamma, which was established at the university in 1994, has decided to shut down altogether.

The choice to disband was made in a May vote by members of the local chapter.

The dissolution of Harvard’s chapter of Delta Gamma, established in 1994, highlights the ongoing debate — which has roiled the Ivy League campus — over gender discrimination, sexual harassment and freedom of association. In particular, it reveals the difficulty that all-female groups face in responding to penalties designed to stop forms of mostly male predation that have brought schools into conflict with federal law.

In announcing the planned sanctions against individual students in 2016, Harvard proved itself willing to take drastic action to bring social clubs to heel. College and university administrators have for years wrung their hands about unrecognized fraternities and other clubs, arguing that they have little power over groups that operate outside the institutional purview of the schools. (At Harvard, final clubs cut ties with the university in 1984 when presented with the choice of going co-ed or losing official recognition.)

The sanctions followed closely on the heels of a university report on sexual assault prevention that upbraided all-male final clubs — of which there are currently six — for “deeply misogynistic attitudes.” It said that 47 percent of female seniors who attended male final club events or participated in female final clubs themselves had reported “experiencing nonconsensual sexual contact since entering college.” According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, Harvard faces three open investigations into its compliance with Title IX, the federal prohibition on gender discrimination in schools receiving public funds.

Over the past three years, Harvard University organizations such as The Oak Club, the Sabliere Society, the Seneca, and the Spee Club have also become gender neutral. In late July, the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority officially became a gender-neutral organization called Theta Zeta Xi.

After Harvard University issued an ultimatum to single-gender student groups on campus to either become co-ed or face certain penalties around two years ago, one Harvard sorority recently became the first student organization to shut down in response.

What happened?

According to The Washington Post, Harvard University ordered the ultimatum around two years ago. If a group does not become co-ed, it would forfeit members’ opportunities to hold leadership positions on campus, as well as risking members’ chances to win the university’s endorsement for prestigious postgraduate fellowships.

Last week, however, one group on campus, the Zeta Phi-Cambridge Area chapter of the national Delta Gamma organization, chose a third option: to essentially disband. The choice was originally made back in May and was determined by a vote from the local chapter’s members, pending a 60-day comment period.

According to The Harvard Crimson, Wilma Johnson Wilbanks, Delta Gamma’s national president, issued the following statement concerning the news:

“The decision does not mean that we are succumbing to the university’s new sanctions and policies regarding participation in unrecognized single-gender organizations like ours.”

“We will continue to champion our right to exist on campuses everywhere. We believe the value of sorority is too great.”

“It is our sincere hope to return to the Cambridge Area should conditions for single-gender organizations improve.”

At this time, Margaret Wilson, the president of Harvard’s Delta Gamma chapter, has not released a statement concerning the move.

According to  the Harvard Crimson, to engage a law firm pursuing lobbying efforts on their behalf. Their plans also concerns the PROSPER Act, a bill which could potentially endanger federal research funding if Harvard goes through with the penalties.

To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of ‘Pineapple Express’, Seth Rogen — the writer and co-star of the legendary stoner comedy — tweeted out a bunch of fun facts about the now-classic comedy.

1. Rogen rolled most of the joints used in the film:

“In Pineapple Express, me and my co-writer Evan had to roll all the cross joints needed to film (about 100) ourselves because nobody else on the crew could roll them properly.”

2. They came up with the name for the movie years prior:

“The name Pineapple Express was around for years before the movie. It’s a Hawaiian weather system that sometimes hits the Pacific Northwest, which is where we’re from. Evan heard the name and said “that would be a great name for a movie.” Years later we found a perfect fit.”

3. Pineapple Express became a real weed strain because of the movie:

“There was NO strain of weed called Pineapple Express when we made the movie. We said ‘if one day, people are out there selling weed called Pineapple Express, it worked’.”

4. Franco cracked Danny McBride’s head up with a bong:

“Throughout the fight scene in Red’s house in Pineapple Express, I broke my finger and Danny McBride got his head cracked open when Franco hit him with the bong.”

5. There’s a legit reason Franco’s character wears a headband:

“The reason Saul wears a headband in Pineapple Express is the result of another injury. There’s a shot (that’s in the movie) when we are running through the woods, Franco hits his head on a tree. He actually hit his head on a screw that was holding a pad in place and got stitches.”

6. Seth was originally supposed to play the pot dealer Saul & Franco was supposed to play Dale:

“We wrote Pineapple Express express for me to play Saul and Franco to play Dale. James wanted to switch roles, and I didn’t care that much, so we did.”

7. Some of the dick drawings from Superbad were filmed on the set of Pineapple Express:

“The shots of the dick drawings on the principals desk in Superbad was actually filmed on the set of Pineapple Express in the woods while we were shooting Dale and Saul destroying their cell phones.”

8. Danny McBride was too funny to kill:

“In Pineapple Express, Red was originally supposed to die the first time he was shot when he was tied up in his apartment, but we thought Danny Mcbride was so funny that we just kept bringing him back to life.”

This isn’t the first time that Rogen has utilized Twitter to celebrate the anniversary of one of his movies, as he also tweeted out fun facts about Knocked Up back in August 2017.
