Darius Minor, a freshman member of the University of Maine football team, is dead at age 18. The university confirmed Minor’s passing on Tuesday, July 24, after he collapsed and died during a preseason football workout in Alfond Stadium on campus. The defensive back was participating in the program’s Freshman Workout. According to the university:

He collapsed on the field at approximately 1:15 p.m., 15 minutes into a supervised light workout. Campus athletics training staff and local first responders were unable to resuscitate him.

“Words cannot express the grief we have following this tragic loss,” said UMaine head coach Joe Harasymiak in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Darius’ family and friends during this terrible time.”

UMaine President Joan Ferrini-Mundy added, “The Athletics Department, our student-athletes and the entire campus mourn the loss of this bright and promising member of our community. We ask all to keep him, his family and his friends in your thoughts.”

There is no official cause of death at this time. Minor was one of 17 players participating in the freshman workout before he collapsed. Minor died on the field as medical personnel were unable to resuscitate him, according to reports.

“This afternoon the CAA was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of University of Maine football student-athlete Darius Minor,” says CAA Commissioner Joe D’Antonio. “On behalf of the entire CAA family we extend our deepest sympathies to the University of Maine and Darius’ family. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

Minor was a 2017 All-Central Virginia first-team wide receiver and second-team defensive back at Orange County High School in Orange, Virginia. A a four year starter, Minor led his district in receptions, yards and touchdowns which earned him All-Jefferson District first-team honors on both sides of the ball.

By now, Donald Trump has been no stranger to protesters. And when it comes to his star on the Hollwood Walk of Fame, it is used to vandals coming and showing their displeasure for the president. On Wednesday, July 25 when the sun came up, it was revealed that vandals got the best of Trump’s Walk of Fame star once again. Someone took a pick axe to the star overnight, completely destroying the star that was put in place during 2007 to honor his hit NBC show The Apprentice.

While the star may be destroyed, for now, it will be replaced with a new one immediately.

Here is a look at the damage that was done by the vandal:

There is also video of the destruction on the Walk of Fame, posted online by KUTV 2 News anchor and reporter Ron Bird.

The last time the star was vandalized was October 2016 when James Lambert Otis attempted to smash it with a sledgehammer. Trump was still a president at the time. Otis was sentenced to three years of probation, 20 days of community labor, and a $4,400 fine for the damage he caused. Comedian George Lopez also pretended to urinate on the star earlier this month.

The latest vandalization comes just hours after CNN released exclusive audio of a taped call between Trump and his then-attorney Michael Cohen. In the audio, you can hear the men discussing the possibility of setting up a payment to hush a story from a former Playboy playmate who had alleged she had an affair with the then-reality star and businessman.

Taylor Schilling, born July 27, 1984, is an American actress who is best known for her role as Piper Chapman on the Netflix original comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black.

For her role as Piper Chapman on Orange Is The New Black, Schilling received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and two Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy and Best Actress – Television Series Drama.

Schilling made her feature film debut in the 2007 drama Dark Matter. Her other films appearances include Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011), the romantic drama The Lucky One (2012), the comedy Take Me (2017) and the science fiction thriller The Titan (2018).

In addition to Orange Is The New Black, Schilling, from Boston, Massachusettes, also starred in the NBC medical drama Mercy fro 2009 to 2010.

Schilling was born on July 27, 1984, in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated from Wayland High School in 2002. After graduating high school, Schilling attended Fordham University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2006. Following Fordham, Schilling entered the graduate program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts to continue her acting studies.

Schilling made her feature film debut in the 2007 independent movie Dark Matter. Her big break came when she was cast in the lead role in the Netflix series Orange Is The New Black.

Brett Barr, a former University of Arizona student, has sued the university’s Board of Regents and a fraternity at the school, accusing the fraternity of hazing. Barr claims that the hazing left him “injured, depressed, anxious and fearful.”

According to reports, Barr has accused the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity and the state’s public university system governing body of battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and acting negligently during a fraternity event.

The alleged fraternity event happened on March 22-23, 2017. Barr was a freshman and an Alpha Sigma Phi pledge at the time of the alleged hazing.

Barr and other pledges were reportedly forced to drink alcohol, were blindfolded and were assaulted. Barr says he suffered head trauma, a torn spleen, and became “fearful of retaliation from members.”

During a fraternity event on the night of March 22 and the morning of March 23, 2017, Alpha Sigma Phi members were blindfolded, physically assaulted and forced to drink excessive amounts of alcohol, the letter says.

At least one student was arrested at the time, and in January 2018, two former members of the fraternity were indicted on felony assault charges in connection with hazing, court records show.

Cody William Ward is facing a charge of aggravated assault with serious injury in connection with the March 22 incident, and Brandon Sellens is facing a charge of aggravated assault causing temporary or substantial disfigurement, stemming from incidents that took place from Jan. 15 through Feb. 7, 2017. The case is ongoing, with status conferences scheduled in August, according to Pima County Superior Court records.

The fraternity was banned from the University of Arizona in April 2017 and cannot apply to be university-sanctioned again until 2021. Barr did not return to the university.

PAC 12 football after dark Saturday nights on ESPN. There’s nothing else like it. The PAC 12 is one of those conferences that always brings a bit of mystery and suspense going into each new season. Year in and year out, new teams make noise and give the traditional powers like USC and Washington some serious headaches. With some teams seriously flying under the radar, does that mean they will make a huge step forward and surprise the rest of the country? In order to keep you thinking more and more about football, let’s take a look at some power rankings.

12. Oregon State Beavers

This is probably one of the toughest jobs in the country to deal with right now. The Beavers have virtually no depth and did not win a conference game last season. Only four players were available in the secondary during spring practice and things are looking extremely bleak in 2018 for Oregon State. It’s going to take a lot of time for this team to regain its depth and become competitive again.

11. Colorado Buffaloes

Steven Montez returning at quarterback is huge for this team. However, losing Philip Lindsay at running back and Isaiah Oliver at defensive back will really hurt. There haven’t been many changes to the team’s roster but a lot of the holes that still need to be filled are open and fall practice is just around the corner. If Colorado still has gaps in its starting lineup, this could be a rough season if they can’t figure out their issues.

10. California Golden Bears

Justin Wilcox has this program heading in the right direction and the fight that they bring to every game is admirable. With a tough schedule, 2018 may be a statement year. Quarterback Ross Bowers has returned and Vic Wharton has returned to spark the offense. Michigan graduate transfer tight end Ian Bunting may also become another reliable weapon. The defense will determine the outcome of some games. If they can stand tall, Cal will be going bowling in December.

9. Arizona State Sun Devils

Herm Edwards is the gift that keeps on giving. The former NFL Coach and TV personality has taken over in Tempe and he is going to deal with one of the toughest schedules in the nation. Sophomore wide receiver John Humphrey tore his achilles during spring ball and two backup quarterbacks transferred from the program. Manny Wilkins is a seasoned veteran at quarterback and it will be up to Herm Edwards to get his team ready to play once the season starts.

8. Washington State Cougars

Mike Leach. What a guy. He doesn’t like candy corn, mint juleps, and fruitcake because they’re “awful.” Wazoo was faced with a possible rebuilding season but the addition of East Carolina grad transfer quarterback Gardner Minshew is a huge get. The addition of Minshew gives the Cougars a veteran passer after losing Luke Falk to graduation and the next guy up, Tyler Hilinski, passed away in the winter. Look for more crazy Mike Leach interviews this season and they will not disappoint.

7. Utah Utes

Defense. Defense. Defense. If Utah wants to make a push forward, they will need their defense to step up big time after losing a number of key players. For the 2018 season, Kyle Whittingham’s team will have one of the better one-two punches in the PAC 12 with Tyler Huntley and Zak Moss. If they can add a receiver to that equation, that offense will be extremely explosive.

6. Arizona Wildcats

Enter Kevin Sumlin and his philosophy of keeping the media out of his practices. Khalil Tate returns as the clear-cut starter after a strong 2017 campaign. Tate’s name will definitely be flying around the Heisman conversation throughout the season. The defense returns a large majority of its starters but in order to win more than six games, the Wildcats will need to clean up their pass defense which was last in the PAC 12.

5. UCLA Bruins

Chip Kelly comes to Westwood with a fresh set of ideas that could potentially bring UCLA back to the top of the PAC 12. The Bruins added graduate transfer Wilton Speight and Justin Murphy on offense and there will most likely be a quarterback battle between Devin Modster and Speight. Jim Mora’s offense was more of a pro-style look and it wouldn’t be surprising if Chip Kelly made the offense into a bit of a multiple style.

4. Stanford Cardinal

Good news! Bryce Love is back. Bad news. Keller Chryst transferred to Tennessee and KJ Costello’s hip injury left the Cardinal without a scholarship quarterback for formal workouts. Walk-on Jack Richardson played for both sides during the spring game and was put on scholarship after the spring game. The lack of quarterback depth and losing key defensive players are usually disasters for some programs. David Shaw has been in this spot before and the Cardinal will be making noise in 2018.

3. USC Trojans

Sam Darnold, Ronald Jones, and Deontay Burnett are off to the NFL and now it’s time for Clay Helton to usher in a new group of Trojans for the 2018 season. The three-way quarterback battle will come down to JT Daniels, Matt Fink, and Jack Sears with Fink and Sears gaining valuable reps during spring ball. The Trojans will take a small step back in 2018 but it won’t take much longer until they’re back on top again.

2. Oregon Ducks

Willie Taggart left for Florida State and now Mario Cristobal is stepping in as the new head coach. Cristobal was on Taggart’s staff and was the interim coach during the Las Vegas Bowl. Justin Herbert returns at quarterback for the Ducks and he could be a real factor in determining Oregon’s success this season. Losing Royce Freeman in the backfield hurts but the offense will remain explosive and push for a PAC 12 title in 2018.

1. Washington Huskies

Jake Browning is back, Miles Gaskin is back, the defense is still solid even after losing Vita Vea. The story of the offense will be the re-emergence of wide receiver Chico McClatcher. The fleet-footed receiver would have been a matchup disaster alongside Dante Pettis in 2017 but an injury sidelined him for a majority of the season. Dante Pettis is now in the NFL and it’s McClatcher’s time to shine. This team is the clear favorite to win the PAC 12 and may even reach the College Football Playoff.

Michelle Rodriguez, the fiancee of Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, announced some great news this week. The couple, which has been through a lot over the past year after a serious spinal injury in December left Shazier in a wheelchair, revealed that they have been blessed with another miracle as they are now expecting their first child together.

“We are EXTREMELY excited to announce that we have a bundle of joy on the way,” Michelle wrote on Instagram. “With everything that’s happened, we couldn’t more thankful for the continuous blessings we have received.” According to her post on social media, the child is due in January 2019.

Shazier added a comment of his own on Twitter: “The plan god has placed around this family is very bright. So we’re so excited to let everyone know we have a wonderful blessing coming and I can’t wait to welcome another beautiful Shazier.”

Congratulations to the couple on the great news.

Shazier will not be playing in 2018 after being placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List in May, but the Steelers converted his salary into a signing bonus and he still has a dream to play football again one day.

Ohio State has fired wide receivers coach Zach Smith after his ex-wife filed a domestic violence protection order against him on Friday, July 20.

Smith was fired on Monday, July 23, after he was charged with criminal trespassing after dropping his children off at the home of his ex-wife, Courtney Smith, against her wishes in May 2018.

Smith requested and was granted a personal protection order that requires her Smith to stay 500 feet away from her.

This is not the first time Smith has been involved in domestic violence as hew was arrested and charged with felony assault while an assistant coach at the University of Florida in 2009.

Speaking at Big Ten media day on Tuesday, Head Coach Urban Meyer said: “The most important people in our program are our players. We’re very clear of our expectations. We decided to make a change.”

Meyer said he didn’t want to discuss the details about why Smith was fired now, but he acknowledged that past allegations that had been publicized this week were a factor.

“I do understand the value that the Ohio State University is bigger than all of us,” Meyer said. “It wasn’t just my decision. It was other people I relied on.”

Powell Police Department officials said Tuesday morning that they had no record of any arrests. But they sent an email at 4:50 p.m. ET saying they discovered records of those incidents after further review.

According to those records, Powell police did visit Smith’s home twice in the fall of 2015. The first incident was a complaint about domestic violence and felonious assault. Courtney Smith told police “that a domestic incident happened last night at her home and that she has been a victim of sustained physical abuse by the suspect.”

Speaking to the media, Meyer said he will make an announcement about a replacement for Smith later in the week. At this time, graduate assistant and former NFL receiver Brian Hartline is considered a front-runner to take over the role.

Vanessa Jane Kirby is an English stage, TV, and film actress.

She is known mostly for her stage work; Variety in 2016 called her “the outstanding stage actress of her generation, capable of the most unexpected choices.”

Kirby was raised in Wimbledon, London. Vanessa Redgrave and Corin Redgrave, notably celebs, were family friends.

In 2011, Kirby made her television début in the BBC’s The Hour, alongside Ben Whishaw, Dominic West, and Romola Garai. She played Estella in the BBC’s mini-series adaptation of Great Expectations alongside Ray Winstone, Gillian Anderson, and Douglas Booth.

She filmed The Rise in early 2012 alongside Matthew Lewis and Timothy Spall. The film premièred at the Toronto and London Film Festivals to positive reviews and won the Best Debut Category for director Rowan Athale.

Her recent film roles include Kill Command, the Wachowskis’ Jupiter Ascending, with Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum, and Queen and Country, John Boorman’s sequel to his Hope and Glory (1987). In 2015, she had a role in Working Title’s Everest, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, and Keira Knightley, playing the iconic American socialite Sandy Hill Pittman.

In May 2015, it was reported that Kirby was cast as Princess Margaret after a six-month search, in Netflix’s first original British series The Crown written by Peter Morgan and directed by Stephen Daldry. She was nominated for the BAFTA in 2017, and then went on to win the BAFTA for her performance in season two in 2018.

She has continued to show success for The Crown as she has received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2018.

The way DeMar DeRozan has been acting, you would think he’s been traded to the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Seemingly every single day since DeRozan was traded from the Toronto Raptors to the San Antonio Spurs, there’s been a quote or soundbite about how wronged and betrayed he feels or how he gave everything to the city of Toronto and yada yada yada.

For a kid who grew up in Compton, his lack of perspective when it comes to this trade has been frankly shocking. Just look at some of these quotes in his most recent interview with ESPN:

 “But it’s been tough having this roller coaster.”

“At the end of the day, I gave everything I had to that team. And it showed, it showed in the progress we made as a team and me as an individual. So when you put that out there saying “gave them chances” and “I have to do something” … it’s B.S. to me.”

“I felt like I wasn’t treated with what I sacrificed for nine years.”

Look, I happen to be a huge DeMar DeRozan fan. Anyone who’s ever seen him speak can tell that he’s a kind, humble guy with a great head on his shoulders. And I understand he has legitimate reasons to be upset because he, too, is a human being — but let me just lay out a handful of reasons why actually he just needs to stop bitching, especially in public:

– In 2016, DeMar DeRozan signed a 5-year, $139 million contract.

– DeMar DeRozan averages $27.8 million per year.

– Over the last 20 years, the San Antonio Spurs have won 5 championships: the most championships in any of the top four professional sports in America during that timespan (other than the Patriots). DeMar DeRozan now plays for the San Antonio Spurs.

– DeMar DeRozan, who has never been to the NBA Finals, is one of the top-10 highest paid players in the NBA.

– Since 2013, the San Antonio Spurs have appeared in NBA Finals (2) more times than the Raptors have appeared in the Eastern Conference Finals (1).

– Have I mentioned that DeRozan is currently in the middle of a 5-year, $139 million contract?

– DeMar DeRozan makes another estimated $5.5 million per year due to his endorsements with Nike and Gatorade.

– There are seven states in the country that do not have a state income tax, however, only two of those states (Texas & Florida) have NBA teams: DeMar DeRozan now plays in Texas.

Did the Raptors mishandle DeRozan’s trade? Yeah, probably. Does it suck to have your life uprooted from Toronto to Texas? I’m sure it does. But does that mean DeRozan has the right to go on a week-long “what about me”-fest? Absolutely not.

The dude has been paid more money than he knows how to spend for playing the game he loves and now he has the opportunity to play under the greatest coach of all-time: I think its time to suck it up, DeMar.

Joshua Kushner is more than just Karlie Kloss’ fiance or Jared Kushner’s younger brother. This 33-year-old millionaire businessman has been at the helm of successful start-ups since his college years.

Karlie Kloss, 25-year-old supermodel and T-Swift squad member, posted an Instagram confirming her engagement to Joshua Kushner on July 24, 2018. Kloss and Kushner have been together since 2012, but have managed to keep their relationship fairly private over the past six years.

Who Is Joshua Kushner?

Joshua Kushner is a successful young entrepreneur and venture capitalist. Kushner graduated from Harvard College in 2008 and Harvard Business School in 2011. As an undergraduate in 2007, Kushner helped found Vostu, which became the largest social gaming company in Latin America.

Among many other resume highlights, Kushner became the founder of private equity and venture capital firm Thrive Capital at age 24. Three years later, he co-founded health insurance start-up Oscar Health (named after his great-grandfather), which aims to make health insurance more consumer friendly. Forbes’ “30 Under 30” and other similar lists gave spots to Kushner for his work on Thrive when he was just 26.

After escaping the Holocaust, Kushner’s paternal grandparents became leaders in the New Jersey Jewish community. Their son Charles Kushner, Joshua’s father, is a real estate developer who spent a year in federal prison on charges of tax evasion, witness tampering and illegal campaign contributions.

If you haven’t figured it out already, Joshua is also the younger brother of Jared Kushner. They were raised with their sisters in Livingston, New Jersey, where they attended Jewish day school.

What Are His Politics?

His brother may be the son-in-law of and senior advisor to President Trump, but the younger Kushner seems to be more politically aligned with his fiance, who supported the Clinton ticket. In a 2016 Esquire piece, a spokesperson for Joshua said, “Josh is a lifelong Democrat and will not be voting for Donald Trump in November”, but he loves his brother and was not willing to say anything that could potentially embarrass him.

The day after Trump’s inauguration, Kushner attended the Women’s March in Washington, DC. On March 23, 2018, he posted a picture on Instagram (a company he has invested millions in, by the way) of the hashtag #iwillmarch in support of March for Our Lives, an anti-gun-violence movement. Two days later, he posted a picture from the march of Kloss holding a sign saying “load minds not guns”. Axios reported that Kushner donated $50,000 to the March for Our Lives organization.

After the election, Kushner held one-on-one meetings with employees of Thrive and other start-ups to make clear that he had no personal ties to the administration. This approach seemed to be effective, and Kushner’s businesses did not suffer as a result of his brother’s position in the White House. Since then, he has continued to make decisions based on the well-being of his businesses instead of politics.

Do Joshua And Jared Get Along?

Despite political differences, the Kushners stay close. They co-founded real estate technology company Cadre with their friend Ryan Williams in 2015. In a 2017 story on Joshua which focused on his political leanings and the impact of the election on his businesses, Forbes reported that he calls Ivanka his sister and speaks to his brother every day.

Kloss and Kushner live close to his office in New York City. Like his fiance, Kushner keeps his private life private, so we don’t know much about what he does in his spare time. We do know that he calls Ashton Kutcher a good friend, so he can hopefully offer more information on the soon-to-be groom.

More importantly, he seems smitten with Karlie. The pair has kept each other company as they have risen to the top of their respective industries, often across the globe. A half-hour after his bride-to-be made the big announcement on Instagram, Kushner posted a radiant photo of Kloss with the caption, “fiancé ”.

Madden 19 is coming out in a couple of weeks, and there is already plenty of buzz surrounding the game. Ahead of its release, EA Sports unveiled the full Madden 19 soundtrack which features a number of hip-hop tracks, including one from Atlanta rap trio Migos, “They Can’t Win,” that was recorded exclusively for the game. To make things even better, EA Sports will be updating the soundtrack throughout the year.

Some artists featured on the soundtrack are Anderson .Paak, Cardi B, Desiigner, Post Malone feat. Nicki Minaj, Pusha T, T.I., Young Thug, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q, Lil Uzi Vert, and many more.

Madden NFL 19 is set to be released on Aug. 10, 2018. The “Hall of Fame” edition of the game features Proo Football Hall of Fame inductee Terrell Owens. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while also being available on Microsoft Windows for the first time since 2007. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown will be the cover athlete for other editions of the game.

Sarah Hyland, born November 24, 1990, is an American actress best known for her role as Haley Dunphy on the ABC family sitcom series Modern Family .

Hyland, who was born in New York City in 1990, attended the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan before landing small roles in the films Private Parts (1997), Annie (1999), and Blind Date (2007).

Hyland’s mainstream breakout came when she was cast as Haley Dunphy on the ABC sitcom Modern Family.

For her performance as Haley Dunphy, Hyland received critical acclaim and numerous nominations, sharing four Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series with her cast members and garnering a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

In addition to her role on ABC’s Modern Family — which has won 22 Emmy Awards, including five for Best Comedy — Hyland has appeared in the films Geek Charming (2011), Struck by Lightning (2012), Scary Movie 5 (2013), Vampire Academy (2014), and XOXO (2016).

Wide receiver is quickly becoming the most important position in fantasy football, with the rising popularity of PPR leagues. Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Odell Beckham, you know the names of the huge stars. But some of tier two and three guys can help win you a championship. Who are they? We’ll tell you right now.

Keenan Allen

When healthy, Allen is a top 10 receiver in the game of football. He went for 1300 yards last season and has the potential to go for even more this season if he can play all 16 games, which he’s only done once in his career. If 2017’s seventh overall pick Mike Williams can have a bounce-back second season, Allen won’t get nearly as much attention from opposing defenses. Pounce on him in the third or fourth round of your draft, and if you get have him as your WR2 with Mike Evans or Deandre Hopkins, that’s a lethal combination in any league.

Calvin Ridley

This might have been one of the best picks of the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The Falcons didn’t really need another wide receiver, but they went out and added the most pro-ready receiver in the draft. Ridley, whether he ends up as the WR2 or WR3 is going to have a great chance to produce in the Atlanta offense with Matt Ryan throwing him the ball. Julio Jones is going to draw the majority of eyes from the defense, so Ridley will definitely see a lot of one on one coverage during his rookie season, especially early on in the year. He’s going to be an awesome late round steal of your fantasy draft.

Stefon Diggs

Adam Thielen was the big breakout star of last season, but Diggs was just as good. He came up with 849 receiving yards, but he caught a career-high eight touchdowns. Kirk Cousins is going to be a key piece in the equation too, as his favorite target in Washington was Jamison Crowder. Crowder is a very similar player to Diggs, but Diggs is just an overall better receiver. He’s much better at high pointing the ball as a small receiver and would be a great pickup as a WR2 in the middle rounds.

Cooper Kupp

A breakout rookie last year, Kupp was easily Jared Goff’s favorite target. He’s more of a flex play when it comes to wide receivers, but he led the Rams in both catches and receiving yards last year. That might change with Brandin Cooks in the mix now, but Kupp will still have a heavy workload in Sean McVay’s offense. He runs a lot of drag and underneath routes that will get him some easy points in a PPR league. He might not be the strongest candidate on this list, but he should only improve after an impressive rookie season last year.

Josh Gordon

One of the biggest fantasy stars at wide receiver a few years ago, Gordon should hopefully be back for a full season this year. Let’s keep in mind that he played 14 games in 2013, and led the league in receiving yards. He’s the definition of big-play potential, as during that season he had back-to-back games with 250 yards receiving. Now, with a competent quarterback in Tyrod Taylor throwing him the ball, Gordon should be able to show off more of that big play potential.

As the years go by and the youth become the adults, weed has assimilated itself more and more into everyday life, and therefore, everyday business. Medical marijuana, commercial marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, literal marijuana commercials, edible marijuana, marijuana oil, marijuana magazines, and now, COED marijuana articles. Everybody else in the United States seems to be getting in on the reefer madness, so we’ve decided to do the same by introducing a new franchise: Weed Strain of the Week.

When I think of weed strains, the first thing that comes to mind is the 2008 stoner comedy classic Pineapple Express. In one of the earliest scenes of the movie, Saul explains to Dale how fire his newest strain of marijuana — Pineapple Express — is by only referring to previous strains that Dale had smoked.

“This is like if that Blue Oyster shit met that Afghan Kush I had – and they had a baby. And then, meanwhile, that crazy Northern Light stuff I had and the Super Red Espresso Snowflake met and had a baby. And by some miracle, those two babies met and fucked – this would the shit that they birthed.”

The strain “Super Red Espresso Snowflake” always stood out because it’s the perfect skewering of drug dealers who tried tell you what kind of strain you were buying: they were really just making shit up. However, now that legal marijuana and dispensaries exist, actual marijuana strains are more prevalent than ever, so we figured it’s time we start learning them all, one by one.

Nicole Williams is the wife of former NFL linebacker Larry English. Larry and Nicole appear together on the reality television series WAGS on E!.

Williams is a model and designer for the swimwear brand NIA LYNN. English, born January 22, 1986, is a former professional football player who played college football as a defensive end at Northern Illinois and was drafted by the San Diego Chargers.

English was drafted by the Chargers as an outside linebacker in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. During the course of his career, English played for the San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As for WAGS, that is a reality series that Williams and English star on.  The show, which premiered on August 18, 2015, is a reality show chronicles both the professional and personal lives of several WAGs (which stands for wives and girlfriends).

WAGs was canceled on February 1, 2018. English last played in the NFL in 2014 with the Tampa Bay Bucs.

A newly published editorial for GQ Magazine written by author Doug Bock Clark has suggested that the brain damage that Otto Warmbier suffered while in North Korean captivity was a result of a failed suicide attempt.

On March 16, 2016, Warmbier — a former 22-year-old University of Virginia student — was tried and convicted for the theft of the propaganda poster from a restricted area of a North Korean hotel and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor. It was the last time he would ever be seen fully conscious.

After 17 months in captivity — 14 of which were spent in a comatose state — Warmbier was released back to the United States on June 13, 2017, and was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for immediate evaluation and treatment. Warmbier never regained consciousness and died just six days later.

Now, over a year after Warmbier’s death, Clark claims that, contrary to popular belief,  Warmbier was never physically tortured by the North Korean authorities during his captivity in 2016 and 2017.

Despite the fact that the Trump administration perpetuated claims that Warmbier was tortured, Clark claims that his six-month investigation has suggested otherwise.

Perhaps most notable is that Clark suggests that the brain damage was caused by a failed suicide attempt, stating: “The likelihood that his brain damage happened immediately after the sentencing, however, raises the possibility that he may have attempted suicide.”

Despite how Trump and his administration boosted the narrative that Otto was physically tortured, however, the evidence was not clear-cut. The day after the Warmbiers went on national television to declare that Otto had been “systematically tortured and intentionally injured,” a coroner who had examined Otto, Dr. Lakshmi Kode Sammarco, unexpectedly called a press conference. She explained that she hadn’t previously done so out of respect for the Warmbiers. But her findings, and those of the doctors who had attended Otto, contradicted the Warmbiers’ assertions.

Fred had described Otto’s teeth as having been “re-arranged” with pliers, but Sammarco reiterated that the postmortem exam found that “the teeth [were] natural and in good repair.” She discovered no significant scars, dismissing the one on his foot as not definitively indicative of anything. Other signs of physical trauma were also lacking. Both sides of Otto’s brain had suffered simultaneously, meaning it had been starved of oxygen. (Blows to the head would have likely resulted in asymmetrical, rather than universal, damage.) Though the Warmbiers declined a surgical autopsy, non-invasive scans found no hairline bone fractures or other evidence of prior trauma. “His body was in excellent condition,” Sammarco said. “I’m sure he had to have round-the-clock care to be able to maintain the skin in the condition it was in.” When asked about the Warmbiers’ claims, Sammarco answered, “They’re grieving parents. I can’t really make comments on what they said or their perceptions. But here in this office, we depend on science for our conclusions.” Three other individuals who had close contact with Otto on his return also did not notice any physical signs consistent with torture.

How Otto Warmbier Changed The World

On July 25, 2018, a new study published in Science by researchers from the Italian Space Agency announced that radar detected a potentially life-harboring, liquid, salty water lake below the southern polar ice cap of Mars.

If confirmed, this will be the first time a large body of water has been found on the Red Planet, settling a debate that has occupied scientists for decades.

We already knew that Mars once harbored vast bodies of water because of the dried up river valleys and lake beds they left behind, but this is the first stable body of water found to currently exist on the planet.

The lake, which measures around 12 miles across and over three feet deep, lies roughly a mile beneath the surface. The water is expected to be below freezing, but salts already found on the planet may lower the melting point and allow it to remain a liquid.

MARSIS, the Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding instrument on the Mars Express spacecraft collected evidence between May 2012 and December 2015. The instrument works by penetrating the surface of the ice caps with radar pulses. The radio waves bounce off the terrain back to the spacecraft, giving scientists clues about the composition of the subsurface. Water, which is more reflective of radar than rocks and sediment, reflects stronger radar waves.

When bright reflections in the radio signals appeared, scientists immediately took note. But before drawing any conclusions, all of the other possible explanations for the anomaly had to be ruled out.

Luckily, after two years of evaluating the data, researchers have determined that the reflections can only be attributed to liquid water. Similar lakes under ice sheets in Antarctica and Greenland were also detected using radar. A microbial life that lives in those extreme Earthly environments may also exist on Mars, scientists say.

For scientists, the next step will not only be to collect further evidence of this lake, but also seeking others like it hiding below the surface.

In 2015, Gavankar performed a set with Questlove of the Roots for a charity benefit.

In 2017, Gavankar provided her voice and likeness for the protagonist of the video game Star Wars: Battlefront II. She has also did voice work for the major motion picture Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Gavankar is an admitted gamer, having made several guest appearances of G4’s Attack of the Show reviewing games such as Army of Two and Burnout Paradise in 2008.

Gavankar was in a relationship with Angelo Sotira, the co-founder of the DeviantArt website, from 2004 until 2010. She is also widely known for her role in technology and social media. Gavankar was the first actress to have an account on Twitter, signing up in 2006. In 2011, Gavankar created Posterous, a social media theme to help actors control their presence across their many media platforms.
