College Student Walks All Night For First Day Of New Job, Gets Surprised With New Car

Walter Carr showed how dedication can pay off. Carr, a 20-year-old college student in Alabama, was set to start his new job when his 2003 Nissan Altima broke down. Because he didn’t want to miss his first day on the job, Carr decided to start walking to work at around midnight. Four hours later, police officers spotted Carr and learned that he was walking to work.

After spotting Carr, the police officers then drove Carr to get breakfast before dropping him off at his new job where he turned down an opportunity to rest and instead got right to work, according to AL.com.

After learning that Carr walked 20 miles through the night to be on time at his gig with Bellhops moving company, CEO Luke Marklin decided to surprise his new employee, who hopes to join the Marines. Martin drove to Alabama from Tennessee and gave him his 2014 Ford Escape.

“I am honestly blown away by him,” Marklin told AL.com. “Everything he did that day is exactly who we are – heart and grit. So far, he’s batting 1,000.”

Carr was shocked by the incredible gesture from his boss, and the company uploaded the moment to social media for everyone to appreciate.

Carr’s first client, Jenny Lamey, was blown away by his work ethic and started a GoFundMe account that has raised more than $30,000 at the time of this posting.

“I just can’t tell you how touched I was by Walter and his journey. He is humble and kind and cheerful and he had big dreams! He is hardworking and tough. I can’t imagine how many times on that lonely walk down 280 in the middle of the night did he want to turn back,” she wrote. “How many times did he wonder if this was the best idea. How many times did he want to find a place to sit or lie down and wait til morning when he could maybe get someone to come pick him up and bring him back home. But he walked until he got here! I am in total awe of this young man!”

Carr has been blown away by the support.

“God blessed me to be a blessing,” he said. “Whatever challenges God puts in front of me I know its for a reason.”

Let this show that no matter what, hard work will pay off.

Annabella Avery Thorne was born on October 9, 1997, in Pembroke Pines Flordia. After Bella’s father died in 2007 in a traffic accident, she and her four siblings were raised by her mother. There were many hardships that came with this, at times the family was so poor it was hard for them all to eat. Bella became a child actor to help support her family and that’s exactly what she did.

Thorne struggled with acting at first, her personality was very outgoing and she loved being the center of attention. But her learning disability Dyslexia took a toll on her ability to understand scripts and read her lines for auditions. Bella has said after struggling so much in school and being made fun of for her learning disability, her mother pulled her out to have her homeschooled.

Bella’s first film appearance was an uncredited role in the 2003 film Stuck on You. She also took small roles on some television shows like Entourage and The O.C. as Taylor Townsend’s young self. In 2007 Thorne had a recurring role on Dirty Sexy Money’s second season. This became Bella’s first major television role, she played the role of Margaux Darling. In 2008 Thorne starred alongside Christian Slater and Taylor Lautner in the drama series My Own Worst Enemy. Bella’s portrayal of Ruthy Spivey won her the Young Artist’s Award. In 2009 Thorne was cast in the web series Little Monk. As well as being the star in the horror film Forget Me Not.

Disney saw potential in Bella and cast her as one of the leads in the original series Shake It Up! Thorne played CeCe Jones a younger tween girl with a desire for a career in the spotlight. Bella was also able to use her dyslexia as a character trait. She used her learning disability as a tool to make her a more relatable character. While Bella struggled with her dyslexia behind the scenes, CeCe showed her struggles on the screen.

In 2014, Thorne was cast in the comedy Blended alongside Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Bella was also apart of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. She began to have interest in a music, releasing her very first EP titled “Jersey”.  In 2015, Bella Thorne starred in The DUFF, Big Sky and Alvin and the Chimpmunks: The Road Chip. Who Will Win This Year’s Davey O’Brien Award?

The Heisman Trophy is the most prestigious award in college football, but the Davey O’Brien, which is given to the best quarterback, is a close second. Let’s take a look at the watch list, and see who’s going to be around come December when the finalists are revealed.

Trace McSorley

Instagram Photo

The Penn State product is going to have the weight of the world on his shoulders this season. After losing Saquon Barkley to the NFL, McSorley is going to have to do a lot more this season with a lot less. He’s going to have an opportunity to show his playmaking ability after losing not only Barkley but top targets Mike Gesicki and DaeSean Hamilton to the NFL as well. McSorley will have five-star recruit Miles Sanders by his side, but he isn’t proven yet. We’ll see who can make plays for McSorley this year, but he should be a strong contender for the Heisman and O’Brien by the end of the year.

Jarrett Stidham

Instagram Photo

Auburn’s QB is tops on a lot of scout’s boards for the 2019 quarterback class. Is he a perfect prospect? Absolutely not, but he has a decent supporting cast, that while isn’t the best, should be able to hold up. He also has a sturdy offensive line that should hopefully buy him some extra time. Stidham could be able to coast to the semi-final list for the O’Brien on arm talent alone. But a successful season for Auburn should help boost his stock nationally.

Jake Browning

Instagram Photo

The 2016 Pac-12 Player of the Year is looking to have a bounce back in 2018. Browning threw for 43 touchdowns in 2016 but fell off in 2017 after losing world-class speedster John Ross. 2018 should be a different story, featuring guys like freshman All-American Hunter Bryant, and highly touted freshman receiver Marquis Spiker.

2018 is going to be a great year for the senior quarterback who wants to improve his draft stock. Browning might not have the strongest arm, but he’s a very smart QB who knows how to make plays and definitely has the potential to win the award.

Khalil Tate

Instagram Photo

Arizona’s quarterback is an electrifying playmaker. He’s the definition of a quarterback who can do it all after he set the NCAA record last season for quarterback rushing yards in a game. He rushed for 327 yards in a game against Colorado in early October of the 2017 season. Tate’s supporting cast isn’t anywhere near what any other QB’s on this list is, but he is so good with his feet and just so fast that it might not matter. Tate will need some help from his receivers, but the biggest question is, how much will he really get?

Jake Fromm

Instagram Photo

The freshman sensation from 2017 that took five-star recruit Jacob Eason’s job, Fromm is looking to build on his freshman campaign that led Georgia to the national championship game. Behind one of the best offensive lines in the country, with a strong supporting cast, Fromm is easily in one of the best situations in the country, but he’s also just one of the most talented QBs in the country. The Georgia QB has the ability to coast and win this award because of the talent around him. Fromm is one of the hardest workers in the country too, so you know he’s going to give it his all on every play.

‘Last Chance U’ Season 3 On Netflix: Date & What Time Is It On?

The Netflix hit reality series “Last Chance U” is set to premiere on Friday, July 20. After spending the first two seasons in Scuba, Mississippi following Buddy Stephens and the East Mississippi Community College powerhouse program, the series is switching gears and focusing on a new program, the Independence Community College Pirates who are coached by Jason Brown.

The Pirates won the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference championship and scored a win over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in the Midwest Bowl, finishing with a 9-2 record.

“I think there was the same anxieties heading into Season 3, but zero of them had to do with moving to a new school. All of us had felt that we had kind of told the story that we wanted to tell in Scooba, and we were ready to go to another school and see what stories that they had. We were convinced that there would be good stories to tell. Part of our process in trying to find a new place answered a lot of those anxieties and concerns,” series director Greg Whiteley said in an interview with SB Nation previewing season 3.

I just know we were chomping at the bit to get to Independence’s campus, based on what we had learned. Part of it was, we looked up their coach online, and he had a really interesting history of bouncing around a couple junior colleges and a few high schools in Southern California. And our phone conversation with him was an all-timer. He’s a 100 percent hustler in the very best sense of the word. We all just adored him.”

How can you tune in to season 3 of “Last Chance U”? Here is all of the information you need to catch the show when it returns to Netflix.

‘Last Chance U’ Netflix Viewing Details:

Weed Strain of the Week: White Widow

As the years go by and the youth become the adults, weed has assimilated itself more and more into everyday life, and therefore, everyday business. Medical marijuana, commercial marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, literal marijuana commercials, edible marijuana, marijuana oil, marijuana magazines, and now, COED marijuana articles. Everybody else in the United States seems to be getting in on the reefer madness, so we’ve decided to do the same by introducing a new franchise: Weed Strain of the Week.

When I think of weed strains, the first thing that comes to mind is the 2008 stoner comedy classic Pineapple Express. In one of the earliest scenes of the movie, Saul explains to Dale how fire his newest strain of marijuana — Pineapple Express — is by only referring to previous strains that Dale had smoked.

“This is like if that Blue Oyster shit met that Afghan Kush I had – and they had a baby. And then, meanwhile, that crazy Northern Light stuff I had and the Super Red Espresso Snowflake met and had a baby. And by some miracle, those two babies met and fucked – this would the shit that they birthed.”

The strain “Super Red Espresso Snowflake” always stood out because it’s the perfect skewering of drug dealers who tried tell you what kind of strain you were buying: they were really just making shit up. However, now that legal marijuana and dispensaries exist, actual marijuana strains are more prevalent than ever, so we figured it’s time we start learning them all, one by one.

This week’s Weed Strain of the Week? White Widow

White Widdow

– Species

  • Hybrid

– About (via Leafly):

Among the most famous strains worldwide is White Widow, a balanced hybrid first bred in the Netherlands by Green House Seeds. A cross between a Brazilian sativa landraceand a resin-heavy South Indian indica,  White Widow has blessed every Dutch coffee shop menu since its birth in the 1990s. Its buds are white with crystal resin, warning you of the potent effects to come. A powerful burst of euphoria and energy breaks through immediately, stimulating both conversation and creativity. White Widow’s genetics have given rise to many other legends like White Russian, White Rhino, and Blue Widow. Still, many growers prefer cultivation of the original White Widow, which flowers in about 60 days indoors.

– History (via Wikileaf):

Legendary for its off-the-charts resin production, White Widow is a staple sativa-dominant hybrid with powerful energizing effects. It was produced by Dutch veterans Green House Seeds in the 1990s as a cross between Brazilian indica and South Indian sativa landraces. At the time, the underground cannabis market consisted mostly of early hybrids like Northern Lights and Haze, but White Widow has since joined the ranks of these legendary strains, winning an early High Times Cannabis Cup in 1995 and several awards since. Bred specifically for a high trichome count, White Widow is especially valued in the production of hash. This strain has an average THC composition of 20%, with some phenotypes exceeding that amount.

Buds of White Widow are chunky and somewhat conical and tapered. The bud structure of the flowers are more sativa than indica, with a loose and fluffy texture that can be broken up somewhat easily despite its stickiness. The leaves are spring green with few visible pistils.

Analeigh Tipton Instagram: Best Photos & Must-See Pictures

Dominic Chan/WENN.com

Analeigh Tipton, a model who finished in third place on Cycle 11 of America’s Next Top Model, is also known for her roles in Crazy, Stupid Love, Warm Bodies, and Two Night Stand. Her latest project is set to be the psychological thriller “Broken Star,” which hits theaters on July 20.

Tipton, who is 29 years old, made her film debut in The Green Hornet in 2011. Prior to that role, Tipton had appeared on guest episodes of The Big Bang Theory. She has also appeared alongside Scarlett Johansson in the 2014 film Lucy, along with starring as the co-lead in Manhattan Love Story, a short-lived comedy series that aired on ABC.

“Abandoned by her friends and family and with her career in jeopardy, starlet Markey Marlowe (played by Tipton) is sequestered in a duplex with a reclusive landlord who just may be more dangerous than she is,” a brief synopsis of the film reads.

Tipton stars opposite Tyler Labine in the film.

“You could also say it’s about an actress who is put on house arrest and connects with her landlord in a unique way, where she discovers the depths of her darkness,” film director Dave Schwep said in an interview with The Mutt. “But I would lean towards more the need to be seen and the need to be validated.

“(Tipton), she really dove into the role and brought out a lot of deeply disturbing and emotional and compelling drama. And Tyler Labine, he’s never really played a role anything like this before. He really delivered an alluring insight into the darkness ultimately within our society.”

Josh Hader: Full Story Of Racist, Homophobic Tweets

Josh Hader, a relief pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, found himself embroiled in controversy this week when old tweets surfaced from 2011. The tweets, which were from 2011 and 2012, surfaced during the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night with many of the tweets featuring racist, sexist, and homophobic messages.

Immediately after the game, Hader apologized for the messages sent from his account. The tweets were from before Hader was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles out of high school.

“I was young, immature and stupid,” Hader said, via MLB.com. “There’s no excuses for what was said.

“It was something that happened when I was 17 years old, and as a child, I was immature and obviously I did some things that were inexcusable. That doesn’t reflect on who I am as a person today. I was in high school. We’re still learning who we are in high school. You live and you learn. This mistake won’t happen again. There’s no excuse for what was said, and I’m deeply sorry for what I said and what’s going on. Like I said, that doesn’t reflect on my beliefs going on now.”

While the tweets were incredibly offensive, received some support from teammate Lorenzo Cain, who was also representing the Brewers in the All-Star Game.

“He’s young, we all say some crazy stuff when we’re young,” said Cain. “That’s the reason I don’t have social media, things like this. You always get in trouble for things you say when you’re younger. We’ll move on from it. The situation is what it is. I know Hader, he’s a great guy. I know he’s a great teammate. I’m fine. Everybody will be OK. We’ll move on from it.

“At the end of the day, we’ve all said crazy stuff growing up, even when we were 17, 18 years old. If we could follow each other around with a recorder all day, I’m sure we’ve all said some dumb stuff. We’re going to move on from this.”

In 31 appearances, Hader has a 1.50 ERA and 89 strikeouts. Milwaukee returns to action on Friday, July 20, against the Los Angeles Dodgers at home. You can read some of Hader’s controversial tweets below.

‘Better Call Saul’ Season 4 Will Officially Cross Into ‘Breaking Bad’ Territory

AMC

While fans of Better Call Saul have long been able to appreciate the show on its own — in fact, some people (not me) argue that it’s better than it’s predecessor — we’ve always been quietly, patiently waiting for the show to cross over into Breaking Bad‘s timeline.

Yes, the origin story of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman has been wildly fascinating in and of itself, but there’s no denying that the potential of diving directly back into the Breaking Bad universe is a tantalizing one.

So far, the first three seasons of Better Call Saul has included characters such as Mike, Gus, Tuco, and others, however, iconic characters such has Hank, Jesse Pinkman, and Walter White have yet to be seen.

And according to Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, this season may finally be the year the Pinkmans and Whites of the Breaking Bad universe are reintroduced.

via Uproxx:

According to Entertainment WeeklyBetter Call Saul‘s upcoming fourth season will feature scenes that take place in the same timeline as Breaking Bad. How do they know? Because Gilligan told them:

“We have a subplot that very squarely gets into Breaking Badterritory and brings us into the world — or at least points us on a path toward the world of Walter White and the territory of Walter White,” co-creator Vince Gilligan tells EW. “I can’t wait for folks to see that.”

Better Call Saul, a spin-off and prequel to the legendary AMC hit Breaking Bad, will return for its fourth season on Monday, August 6, at 9 p.m. EST.

Anderson Silva Next Fight: Silva Eligible To Return In October 2018

Anderson Silva is hoping to resume his mixed martial arts career. On Wednesday, July 18, Ariel Helwani of ESPN announced that the former UFC middleweight champion is eligible to return to the Octagon in October 2018. Silva has been serving a suspension from USADA. The suspension is retroactive to October 2017, meaning Silva can return in three months after it was “deemed his positive drug test was due to contaminated substances.”

The suspension stemmed from a failed out-of-competition drug test collected on Oct. 26, 2017 which forced him to withdraw from his scheduled main event bout against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Shanghai.

I am vindicated,” Silva said in a statement released to Helwani via his PR team. “The past nine months have been extremely difficult. I felt like my career and everything I had worked so hard for was dying and my future was hanging in the balance. I knew in my heart that I had done nothing wrong and fully cooperated with USADA during their inquiry to prove it.

“Today I have a renewed energy. My legacy is restored. I can focus on getting back into the ring and the next chapter of my life after fighting.”

There is no word on who Silva could face in his return to action.

In his most recent outing, Silva earned a unanimous decision victory over Derek Brunson at UFC 208 in Brooklyn, New York. It was Silva’s first official win since defeating Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153 in 2012. In that bout, Silva earned a first-round TKO victory and extended his UFC record for most consecutive wins at 16. It was the final fight for Silva as a UFC champion, despite the bout being at light heavyweight.

At UFC 183 in January 2015, Silva scored a unanimous decision win over Nick Diaz. However, the bout was overturned to a no contest after Silva tested positive for drostanolone and androsterone. Diaz, meanwhile, tested positive for marijuana metabolites.

Brittany Fintel: Full Story Of Hiker Who Survived 500-Foot Fall Down Mount St. Helens

Brittany Fintel was climbing Mount Saint Helen when tragedy nearly struck. The 32-year-old was climbing the mountain before slipping on ice and tumbling 300 to 500 feet down the slope because of improper equipment. She was attempting to climb the 8,663-foot volcano when she fell.

Fintel, who is a Navy veteran, said she thought she had died as soon as she began to fall.

“The first thing that hit the boulder was my hip,” Fintel said, via ABC News. “Then I flipped over that and hit my head, and then kept literally rolling down until I naturally stopped. I didn’t have [the] proper equipment for the ice — didn’t have an ice pick to do self-arrest.”

Fintel was laying injured on the mountainside when her service dog remained by her side until first responders were able to come to her aid.

“He made sure that I wasn’t in shock,” Fintel said. “He laid beside me, he licked me, he was extremely comforting.”

Fintel suffered a broken hip, a concussion, and deep lacerations and was transported to and treated at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital.

The U.S. Coast Guard was sent to the scene to help with the rescue, while the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office arrived approximately three hours later. Colton Tourtway, a U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmer, said that Fintel was in good spirits despite the accident and even cracked a joke about being rescued by “Coasties.”

Despite her accident, Fintel is hoping to return to climbing within six to eight weeks.

Phi Kappa Psi At Ohio State Suspended Ahead Of New Year

Phi Kappa Psi at Ohio State University has been suspended four years due to hazing. According to the university, the fraternity has been suspended until August 2022 after an investigation by Student Life’s department of Student Conduct found that the fraternity was violating the Code of Student Conduct.

A statement from the university said that the fraternity was investigated twice for code of conduct violations during the 2017-18 school year. The chapter was placed on Cease & Desist in November 2017 and was placed on a two-year probation for violations including hazing, endangering behavior, and alcohol in March 2018.

The members of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity were informed of the suspension on in late June and were given several days to appeal the suspension. OSU said that the fraternity may petition the Office of Student Life to return to campus when their suspension is over in 2022.

The Phi Kappa Psi chapter was one of 11 fraternities under investigation in November 2017 when Ohio State imposed a temporary blanket suspension on all 37 of its fraternities.

This is the latest major fraternity or sorority suspension or closure in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State have all suspended fraternities in the wake of hazing and alcohol deaths.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who were shut down for hazing and the Lamda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

Top 10 Most Hated Videos On Youtube By The Numbers

Shutterstock

In 2018, YouTube is the undisputed launchpad for talent, and talent’s opposite alike. And, no matter if it’s a rising star or a crazy cat in front of the camera, internet trolls are sure to camp out in the comment section to draw blood. For better or for worse, these videos are, empirically speaking, the most hated uploads ever to grace YouTube with their presence. For this list, deliberate attempts to get hate attention are not included (PewDiePie) (RiceGum). Videos are also organized based on the “dislike” to “like” ratio although several honorable mentions are included based on the sheer number of dislikes they received. Make sure to click the links to these videos and do your part in adding to the dislike count total!

The numbers at the top of each video represent the percentage of dislikes the video received.

(Dis)Honorable Mentions:

Pokemon GO Song

66.61%

It feels wrong to add to the extremely negative and persistent backlash this video has received, but rules are rules. “Misha,” a ten-year-old boy uploaded this hopeful banger back when Pokemon Go was a thing. It’s not particularly impressive, lyrically speaking, but I knew every word by the time the video was over, so maybe that says something. The video currently has 1.6 Million dislikes. Err… 1,600,001 dislikes ;)

Baby

49.66%

Justin Bieber’s “Baby” is the number one disliked video of all time, with 9.6 million dislikes. To be fair, it has equally as many likes. But, to be fair again, It’s almost 10 years old. To be even fairer, it is still awful and a founding father of proceeding cringy videos. See if you can spot Drake and his precious smile! Finally, in the interest of fairness, the song itself is not worthy of the hate it received – it was the video all along. Nobody likes big, loud groups at bowling alleys to begin with, but when it becomes an adolescent dance party ft. wingman Ludacris, the level of thoughtlessness becomes too much to handle.

It’s Everyday Bro

59.71%

Jake and Logan Paul are the remanents of the Vine app that migrated to YouTube when their motherland was destroyed by Twitter. Unfortunately, they handled the move well and took advantage of the extended time limits on YouTube videos to broadcast their awfulness even longer and more often. “It’s Everyday Bro” is an arrogant anthem written by Jake Paul that taunts people for calling him out on being arrogant. The most memorable lyric in the whole video, even more so than “It’s Everyday Bro” itself, is “England is my City,” and it just gets dumber from there.

Sweatshirt

74.03%

“Sweatshirt” is cut from the same block as “It’s Everyday Bro.” Jacob Sartorius, another Viner turned Youtuber, began pumping out music videos after his marketing team realized there was no way the “cute kid making videos” appeal would last forever. “Sweatshirt” is the result of that mounting sense of urgency and panic.

Cortando o Botão do YouTube

75.13%

After Aruan Felix reached 100K followers on YouTube, he was awarded the customary YouTube silver button for his achievements. For whatever reason (the entire video is in Portuguese), he decided to saw it in half, and his followers were outraged.

Ghostbusters

78.25%

Remakes aren’t ever favored over originals and in the case of this Ghostbusters remake, replacing the characters with women set off a large contingent of die-hard Ghostbusters fans. That was pretty much the only change, but it was enough to earn this video a solid million dislikes. For a more in-depth look as to why this movie got a firestorm of hate, watch this “Honest Trailer” below.

Friday

79.18%

Rebecca Black’s “Friday” put her in YouTube jail for a long time. Her offense? Terrible music. Good on her for releasing a music video at such a young age, but the critics didn’t let her slide. “Friday” now has 3.2 Million dislikes and 123 Million views. She made somewhat of a recovery and still posts videos on occasion for her 1.1 Million followers.

Reacting to IDubbz’s Content Cop on Jake Paul

79.06%

To understand why this video was so poorly received, you need to understand who IDubbz is. IDubbz is a youtube star who has almost 7 million followers, and his most popular videos are part of his “Content Cop” series, where he calls out other YouTubers on posting bad content. RiceGum got called out and his response was terrible. This video, as well as his actual response,  are both on the Top 50 most disliked videos on YouTube.

Bibi H – How it is ( wap bap … ) [Official Video]

86.26%

This video was the last straw for some people with regards to non-sensical music and floury lyrics. The title and chorus speak for themselves. After only a couple of days of being online, the video received nearly 2 Million dislikes and currently hovers around 3 Million dislikes. Here’s an excerpt from the song:

“I met a guy, he knows my name, he also told me his. And if we want to have some fun, well, that just how it is”

Official Call of Duty®: Infinite Warfare Reveal Trailer

86.35%

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare‘s trailer got slammed with a tidal wave of dislikes primarily for the mistake of leaning further into Sci-Fi territory. Call of Duty became popular originally for being a World War Drama series, but now with its super suits and astronaut warfare, it was basically Halo for people who didn’t like Halo.

Эдвард Атева- ДИСС НА ЛИЗЗКУ #РукаЛицо

88.65%

You’re on your own for this one. All we know is that this Russian video has almost 1 Million dislikes and 8 Million total views.

Stronger

96.23%

Viewer discretion advised. Rick Perry, Republican candidate for president in 2012, really, truly, believes what he is saying in this video. It is sort of scary that people like him still exist. Of course, the original upload was deleted a while ago, but the original video can still be found online. At its peak, the video had nearly 1 million dislikes.

YouTube Heroes / PSA from Chairman of the FCC Ajit Pai

96.92%

The worst video ever uploaded to YouTube was uploaded by YouTube themselves. YouTube “Heroes” was a proposed update to the YouTube community to allow users to mass report videos and abolish all instances of free speech in favor of censorship and avoiding hurt feelings. Of course, the trolls and all other sects in the YouTube Community, banded together to fight this evil for the common good. The original upload was removed, but the video can still be found below.  In the same vein of internet patriotism, Ajit Pai’s efforts to curb free speech by ending net neutrality were also met with the same fire and fury.

Martens, who plays for the Netherlands national team, plays for Spanish club FC Barcelona.

She grew up admiring Ronaldinho and rooting on Barcelona.

“Because I was a Barça fan,” said Martens, via The Guardian. “He had long hair like me and great dribbles. I loved him. He was technical, made a lot of goals. When I was young. I had no idea there were women players or what I could achieve and now we are role models. Of course I wanted to be involved.”

Martens is currently focused on the 2019 World Cup in France, with Netherlands currently atop their group in qualifying. She is also focused on knocking off Atletico Madrid in La Liga play.

“We’re going to do everything to win – that’s all we can do. We are independent of them,” she said. “I hope they are going to drop some points. It would be great to win the title in my first season in La Liga.”

College Student Gifted Car After Walking Almost 20 Miles To New Job

Youtube

Last week, Walter Carr was just a 20-year-old Alabama college student. When his car broke down, he was left with no way to get to his first day of work at Bellhops Moving. He wasn’t looking for fanfare when he set off to travel the 20 miles to work on foot, but his story moved his boss to give him his car.

The night before his first day at Bellhops Moving, Walter Carr’s 2003 Nissan Altima broke down. Panicked, the student texted his friends and girlfriend begging them to drive him to work at 8 A.M.

When Carr couldn’t get a ride, he decided to walk. At midnight, he woke up from a four-hour nap and began his trek from Homewood, Alabama, to Pelham, Alabama; a 20-mile expedition.

Carr made a mental map of his route, even wearing black pants in preparation for the tall grass he knew he would be walking through. He went into the night with nothing but his phone, wallet, a kitchen knife and a baseball to ward away aggressive stray dogs.

He alternated between jogging and walking, ignoring the burning in his legs until 4 A.M. when he decided to give himself a break in the bank parking lot. This was when he was noticed by a police vehicle. At that point, he had not eaten a meal for eight hours.

Who is Walter Carr?

This is not the first time Carr has been forced to make his own fate in the face of adversity. After losing their home in Hurricane Katrina, Carr and his mother started a new life for themselves in Birmingham, where he has continued to fight for what he wants.

“I’ve always been that person who figured things out on my own,” Carr told the Washington Post. With such staunch dedication and natural survival skills, it is no wonder that he dreams of becoming a Marine.

What Happened?

When concerned police officer Mark Knighten stopped Carr to ask if he was okay, he had already traveled 14 miles. Once he explained what he was doing, the officer took him out to breakfast with a few other officers. After he only ordered one chicken biscuit at Whataburger, they had to convince him to order more.

Knighten’s shift was ending, so he brought Carr to a church four miles from work and arranged for another officer to pick him up a few hours later and drive him to the house. Concerned that he would not make it on time, Carr set out walking again at 5:30 A.M.

Officer Scott Duffey, who had heard about Carr’s odyssey, spotted him on the road and drove him the rest of the way to work. At 6:30 A.M., they arrived at their final destination: the home of Jenny Lamey. Lamey was moved to tears by Carr’s story and offered him a meal and a place to sleep. Instead of accepting, he got straight to work. When the other movers arrived, Lamey had to push Carr to tell them all he had done to get there. A new co-worker gave him a ride home at the end of the day.

Public Response And Gift

A day later, Lamey posted the story on Facebook and made a GoFundMe page with a $2,000 goal to help with Carr’s car troubles. The story went viral. As of the afternoon of July 18, 2018, over $50,000 has been raised.

Sunday, July 15, Bellhops CEO Luke Marklin saw the Facebook post and was so moved that he called Carr to thank him and arrange for them to meet in person. On Monday, Marklin drove from Tennessee to a small coffee shop near Carr’s apartment.

This is an incredible story. The grit and heart Walter showed defines Bellhops' culture precisely. I'm really proud to be on the same team as Walter… we set a high bar on service and he just raised it. Look forward to thanking him in person this week. https://t.co/Fr4ytu5CM1

— Luke Marklin (@LukeMarklin) July 15, 2018

But Marklin was treating Carr to more than just coffee and a pat on the back. After publically thanking and expressing his admiration for the young man, the chief executive handed over his own 2014 Ford escape, which he had barely driven. Jenny Lamey and the police officers that helped Carr along the way also showed up to support him.

Proud to have encountered this young man. He certainly made an impact on us!#PelhamPD #belikewalter pic.twitter.com/d0zz0PMvnv

— Pelham Police Dept (@PelhamPoliceAL) July 16, 2018

Carr was stunned, grateful and humble when Marklin announced that he would be driving away in a new car. Some companies talk the talk, but Marklin walked the walk (at his own expense, no less).

“I want people to know this – no matter what the challenge is, you can break through the challenge. Nothing is impossible unless you make it impossible,” Carr told AL while holding back tears.
