The Ultimate Fighting Championship has unveiled its full list of cast members for “The Ultimate Fighter 28.” The season — which has dubbed “Heavy Hitters” — will feature eight heavyweights and eight women’s featherweights. It is set to premiere Wednesday, Aug. 29 on FOX Sports 1, marking the final season of the long-running reality series on the network before the UFC begins its broadcasting deal with ESPN.

“The Ultimate Fighter” features a season-long tournament with two fighters in each weight class set to square off at the end of the season with the hopes of winning a six-figure UFC contract. Previous TUF winners include former champions Forrest Griffin, Michael Bisping, Rashad Evans, TJ Dillashaw and more.

TUF 28 will be coached by current middleweight champion Robert Whittaker and top contender Kelvin Gastelum, who are both former winners of “The Ultimate Fighter,” leading up to a showdown between the two men later this year. Whittaker most recently earned fight of the night honors for his win over Yoel Romero at UFC 225. Romero was ineligible to win Whittaker’s championship belt after failing to miss weight. Gastelum, meanwhile, is currently riding a two-fight winning streak with wins over former champion Michael Bisping and former No. 1 contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

“The Ultimate Fighter 28: Heavy Hitters Finale” will take place Nov. 30 at Pearl Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Chief Keef

Chief Keef dropped his new album, “Mansion Musick,” on Friday, July 13. It is the third solo studio album for the Chicago rapper, following the release of Sosa’s “Finally Rich,” “Bang 3,” and “Bang 3, Pt. 2.” He previously released 27 mixtapes. The 11-track album opens with a track named “Belieber,” while Playboi Carti is the lone feature. on the track “Uh Uh.” The two men most recently worked together on Carti’s “Mileage.”

Chief Keef, whose real name is Keith Farrelle Cozart, said that he is on “another level” with his new project.

“Actually, one of the songs they’ve probably heard. I don’t know. You know, I’m versatile. It’s another me, another level,” Chief Keef told AllHipHop.com at his album release party earlier this week at Hills Penthouse on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.

“Mansion Musick” also features the single, “Part Ways,” which Sosa dropped a video for last month.

At long last, the semifinals in Wimbledon are upon us. In the early match on Friday, there is a match between two elite servers on the men’s tour. This match will be between the the number eight ranked Kevin Anderson and the number nine ranked John Isner. Both of these players have faced each other 11 times in the past with Isner winning eight of these matches. However, with a spot in the Wimbledon finals at stake, anything can happen.

Kevin Anderson entered the season with high hopes. After dealing with several injuries a few years ago, Anderson is now fully healthy again and was able to rejoin the top ten rankings as a result. Anderson has one of the best serves on tour which makes him almost impossible to beat on grass. Standing at 6’6, Anderson is able to serve with extreme power and precision which essentially makes him impossible to break. His serve enabled him to upset Roger Federer in the quarterfinals despite facing a two set deficit. Anderson has proven that he is capable of beating anybody on tour and this level of confidence will be needed if he plans on defeating John Isner. 

John Isner is the last American male left in the tournament. However, he is much more than that. At the end of his career, he will be in the discussion for the greatest server to ever live. For example, in his second round match against Ruben Bemelmans, he hit an astounding 65 aces with only three double faults. His serve has propelled him to a top-ten ranking and now his serve might lead him to a Wimbledon final. Isner’s serve has also lead to his head-to-head dominance against Anderson due to Anderson’s inability to break him. Expect Isner to be on top of his serving game this Friday with a spot in the final at stake.

As for my prediction, I have to side with Anderson. Although Isner is currently in peak form, he got a little bit lucky last round when his opponent suffered a leg injury which hindered his mobility for the rest of the match. Anderson could very well be tired from his match against Federer but if he was able to come back from two sets down against the greatest of all-time, he should be able to get over the hump and defeat Isner this Friday.

This Friday marks the start of the men’s semifinals in Wimbledon. In the late match there is a match between two all-time tennis greats. This match will be between the Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. Both of these players have faced each other an astounding 51 times in the past with Djokovic winning 26 of those matches. With such a close head-to-head record, one should assume that this semifinals match will be extremely competitive.

Rafael Nadal entered Wimbledon in tremendous form. After winning the French Open earlier this year, he has looked fully healthy for the first time in years. Nadal’s court coverage and topspin have helped him dominate opponents thus far in the tournament. In his first four matches, Nadal did not drop a set and looked poised to win his second Wimbledon title. However, Nadal did struggle at times in his quarterfinals match against Juan Martin del Potro before pulling away in the fifth set. One has to wonder if Nadal will be too fatigued to play at his best against Djokovic considering the fact that his last match took over five hours to complete. Nadal is famous on tour for his will to win which he will have to showcase on Friday if he hopes to advance to the Wimbledon final. 

Novak Djokovic has also looked extremely solid on his way to the semifinals. In five matches, he has only lost two sets due to his elite shotmaking and his elite return of serve. Djokovic is a three-time Wimbledon champion who looks poised to win his fourth. The only thing that has slowed him down in the past was his deteriorating health. Last year, Djokovic made the quarterfinals in Wimbledon before having to retire due to injury. One always has to wonder if Djokovic can physically handle such a grueling match against Nadal who is known to elongate points. However, if Djokovic is fully healthy, he should be able to give Nadal everything he has on the court.

As for my prediction, I have to side with Nadal. Nadal simply looks like the best player in the world at the moment with no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Although Nadal almost lost in his last match, he showed extreme mental toughness which should prepare him well for this semifinals match. Now that Federer has been eliminated, Nadal has his best chance to win a second Wimbledon title. I expect this match to go at least four sets but I think Nadal will come out on top.

Police

Amanda Eckblad, a 22-year-old teacher in Wisconsin, has been accused of having sex with an underage student.

According to court documents, Eckblad, 22, has been accused of having sex with a 17-year-old boy and recording cell phone video of the encounter. Police say the boy in the video lived with her.

She has been charged in court with sexual intercourse with a child and possession of child pornography. If guilty, she faces up to 25 years in prison.

Eckblad, who told authorities that she considered the 17-year-old boy “her significant other”, remains jailed on $25,000 bail and was scheduled to be back in court on Friday, July 13.

According to Eckblad’s criminal case, police investigated allegations that she had been having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy who also lived with her at her residence on the 2100 block of Clarence Ave.

During the course of the police investigation, officers reported searching Eckblad’s cell phone, only to find a video of Eckblad engaging in sexual intercourse on March 30. The video was reportedly deleted from her phone on May 2 but was recovered by authorities, according to the complaint.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators were able to identify Eckblad in the video which showed her engaged in sexual intercourse with the boy.

Eckblad is just the latest teacher to be charged for an alleged relationship with a teenager student.  Over the course of just a few months, educators across the country were arrested for entering into an inappropriate relationship with their students, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers, LaToya Parker, Florida teacher Caroline Lawson, 26-year-old Allyson Moran and Katherine Ross Ridenhour were all arrested on similar charges.

The list goes on to include 22-year-old Oklahoma science teacher Hunter Day, 28-year-old teacher Megan Kotarski, 23-year-old history teacher Michelle Schiffer, 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy, special education teacher Jordan Ondish and 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick have all been allegedly carrying on inappropriate relationships with their students.

In addition, 31-year-old Nicole Marie Andrews, 32-year-old Jessica Langford, 29-year-old Andrea Baber, 27-year-old Robin Dunlap, 27-year-old Jennifer Olajire-Aro have also been charged with these charges.

34-year-old Miranda Nicole Pauley was charged with similar crimes, Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student, Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016 and 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship. 27-year-old Brittany Zamora from Arizona was arrested on similar charges. Keri Hoffman, 35, was also arrested for an alleged relationship with a student. More recently, 29-year-old Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander and 33-year-old Maren Oates were arrested on similar charges.

The Alpha Epsilon Pi, Kappa Sigma, Alpha Kappa Lambda, Theta Delta Chi and Beta Theta Pi fraternities are under investigation for potential code of conduct violations.

The investigation of the five fraternities comes as the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity was suspended from campus after an investigation by its national organization.

According to the SAE national headquarters, the University of Arizona chapter has been suspended following an investigation into health and safety violations. Following the notification from the national SAE organization, Kendal Washington White, the UA’s Dean of Students, sent the chapter a loss of recognition letter.

“It is quite rare for a national office to shutter a chapter when the institution of higher education has not initiated a loss of recognition due to a violation of the Student Code of Conduct; however, SAE’s national leaders clearly identified disturbing behavior and practices that are not in line with their core values,” Dean of Students Kendal Washington White told the Arizona Daily Star in an email.

“I am impressed by their actions and hope that if SAE ever returns to campus, they will serve as a model for brotherhood, service and leadership.”

White told the Star that Sigma Alpha Epsilon did not provide the UA with details about the violations. Sigma Alpha Epsilon notified alumni and members of its UA chapter that the chapter had been disbanded, the news release said.

“We have tremendous respect for a fraternal organization that holds its members accountable for their actions.”

This is the latest major fraternity or sorority investigation, suspension or closure in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State have all suspended fraternities in the wake of hazing and alcohol deaths.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who was shut down for hazing and the Lamda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

There’s no question that Joaquin Phoenix is one of the most talented actors in the world. But is he talented enough to carry a Joker origin film? Only time will tell.

And despite being one of the most gifted actors of his generation, even Phoenix himself has admitted that playing an iconic character like The Joker “scares” him.

According to early reports, the Todd Phillips-directed film film will delve into what it took for the Joker to become the clown prince of crime we all know and love today, with sources saying the story will take place in the ’80s and have “more of the look of a gritty crime drama than a comic-book movie.”

While I’ve been on record as saying I think a Joker origin story is a TERRIBLE idea for about a dozen reasons, but we’ll just run through the main one: that the appeal of The Joker is that even BATMAN HIMSELF can’t figure out who the hell he is or where the hell he came from.

What makes the character of the Joker so enthralling is his ambiguity — in fact, some Batman stories have wondered if the Joker is a manifestation of eternal evil — so putting a real name to the Joker’s iconic white face only undermines everything the character is actually about.

While the prospect of Phoenix in this roll is a tantalizing one, I just don’t have the faith in Warner Bros. to pull it off. Hopefully, I’m wrong.

WWE’s most recent PPV, Extreme Rules, has come and gone and guess who did not show up? That’s right, Paul Heyman’s favorite client Brock Lesnar.

It has now been three straight PPV events since Lesnar has defended the Universal Title, not to mention how many weeks of Monday Night Raw he has just been completely absent for. A champion is supposed to be a leader and a face of the company but what was once looked at as an aura of sacred importance to each Lesnar match has become a feeling of absent laziness. With Lesnar surfacing in UFC it begs the question, what is his future with the sports entertainment juggernaut? And what can we expect from him?

The last time that Lesnar defended his Universal Title was at The Greatest Royal Rumble in April. APRIL. Since then Backlash, Money in the Bank, and Extreme Rules have all passed. None of which had Lesnar on the bill. Rumors have Lesnar’s fee per appearance as exorbitant. At first, it would make sense to keep his airtime space. No need to trot out the Beast Incarnate for every show, but how about a show once and awhile… The lack of appearances has gone from mysterious to inconvenient.

Lesnar’s absence is so deep that they can’t even hold number one contender matches… In the weeks leading up to Extreme Rules, they seemed set to be trying to set up Lesnar’s next opponent, before they literally said Lesnar vetoed the idea and they moved on… with no match to determine a number one contender, pretending like the whole thing never happened and there really is no Universal Title at all.

The Universal Title started its life in a rocky place. The first night it was revealed the fans were more focused on how ugly they thought the belt was instead of the fact WWE gave them the dream match of Seth Rollins against Finn Balor. After Balor’s victory, he had to immediately vacate the title due to an injury in the aforementioned match. WWE decided to put the title on Kevin Ownes. Was this a sign of things to come? Will this be the title WWE uses to launch newer and talented superstars into the stratosphere? Nope! Owens would go on to get squashed by Goldberg who would go on to lose to Lesnar, which leads us here.

We are now in the longest main title run of the modern era. For years CM Punk held the accolade with a 434-day reign. It was a remarkable feat especially now knowing his relationship with management. In this time he assumed the face of WWE and defended his title when called upon. Recently Brock Lesnar passed this feat, without so much as a whimper. There were a couple posts by WWE acknowledging the feat but it seemed even the company understood, it’s pretty easy to have the longest title run when you don’t show up to defend it.

Currently, the face of the Monday Night Raw Championship scene is Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins. Showing that a champion can fight and be present. The mid-card title has been working double time since the disappearance of Raw’s top title. But there is one place that Lesnar has shown up in the last three months…

UFC 226 was July 7th and guess who showed up? Brock Lesnar himself.

After his match, Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier called out Lesnar who was sitting cageside. When Cormier called him into the ring Lesnar immediately entered and shoved his verbal attacker. Then grabbed the mic and laid into the champ and other UFC fighters. And you know what? It was the most passion we’ve seen out of Lensar in years! The character of Lesnar in WWE hides behind the words of Paul Heyman but the UFC Lesnar is allowed to let his true character come out.

Lesnar’s profanity-laden, 20-second verbal assault at UFC 226 showed WWE fans what they have desperately wanted from their Universal Champion. The situation has become so dire that Vince McMahon has apparently said that Brock Lesnar is to only be mentioned if it is a necessity and beneficial for WWE. Who is this helping anymore? It’s destroying the Universal Title’s credibility, fans are turning on the idea of Brock Lesnar’s infallibility, and WWE now finds themselves tiptoeing around the situation each week.

Maybe it’s best to go their separate ways again.

Let Lesnar focus on the UFC and give the Universal Title back to who it belongs. Not the WWE or the superstars, but the fans. Give the fans back their representation of the pinnacle superstar. Give the fans back the idea that the champion cares. Give the fans back consistency in their top guy. It’s what’s best for all parties.

Shannade Clermont, one of the twin models known for modeling Kanye West’s YEEZY fashion line, has been arrested for using a dead man’s credit and bank cards.

According to the U.S. Attorney, the Instagram model acquired the information from two debit cards belonging to the man who had allegedly hired the reality star as a prostitute hours before he was discovered dead.

While Clermont is not a suspect in the unidentified man’s death — which was later ruled an overdose — investigators have since linked her to over $20,000 in purchases made on the man’s cards between February 2017 and May 2017.

Prosecutors noted in the documents that Clermont has “Amassed a large social media following and has regularly posted publicly available photos. As per the conditions of her release, she must submit to drug testing and treatment, pretrial supervision, and cannot possess a firearm.

Following her arrest, Clermont was released into the custody of her sister, Shannon, on Wednesday afternoon after posting $100,000 bail.

Clermont, the 24-year-old Bad Girls Club star, faces charges of wire fraud, access device fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Madison McKinley Isner is the wife of American professional tennis player John Isner.

Isner, born April 26, 1985, famously played the longest tennis match in Wimbledon history: Isner defeated Nicolas Mahut in a total of 11 hours and 5 minutes of play over the course of three days. In fact, the final set of that match alone was longer than the previous longest match in Wimbledon history.

Isner, whose career-high ranking is 9th in the world, currently has 3rd-most aces in the history of the ATP tour, having served more than 10,000 aces.

John and Madison announced their pregnancy on Instagram on April 22. The child will be a girl and is the couple’s first child.

According to Heavy, Madison owns a Dallas-based jewelry company called “Madison McKinley” which she launched with her mother, Karla McKinley in 2017.

Madison McKinley’s page says that the jewelry is meant to capture “the spirit of wanderlust”, and was “inspired by Madison’s constant mixing and matching of vintage and modern pieces, between her own jewelry and that of her grandmother’s.”

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently searching for Bo John Jones, a 22-year-old University of Southern California graduate student who has been missing since Sunday, July 8. Jones is currently studying to get his Ph.D.

Jones was reportedly last seen leaving his apartment near the 1100 block of 6th Street, carrying just a cell phone, around 4:30 p.m. PST on July 8.

Police say that Jones’ cellphone was located on Thursday, July 12, near the MacArthur Park playground, which is located less than 2 miles from his apartment.

Jones’ family, who described their son as “responsible”, said he would sometimes take walks in that park.

The 22-year-old is a Ph. D. student at USC. His roommate told family that Jones did not return home Sunday night. His cellphone had been turned off, but was back on Thursday.

“I had turned on the Find My iPhone app and so it pinged me saying someone had found it. They were at a cellphone store trying to crack it,” James Jones said. He was able to retrieve his son’s phone from a woman, who said she found it Tuesday morning near the playground.

“He sounded great. He was happy. He was looking forward to coming home to New York at the end of the month,” Susan Jones said. “We’re all wracking our brains trying to figure out what could have possibly happened because it’s not like him at all.”

Jones is described as a 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing around 140 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a red USC T-shirt, grey shorts and sandals.
