The 10 Best College Basketball Teams Since 2000

College basketball is an interesting tale. This is due to the factor that the best college player may not even make it to the NBA in any given season. Take Michael Jordan for instance, the fourth best player on his championship team. With the game being played with more tactics focusing on team stardom rather than individuals, different players can bring something to the table that won’t cut it at the next level. This era has also been defined by the one and done rule, where the talented freshman will likely leave after their first season to go and try to fulfill their NBA potential. This had made winning back-to-back championships almost impossible, and add a level of uncertainty to every season. In this list, we break the best teams of the 2000’s era of the game.

10. Syracuse Orangemen (2002-03)

Instagram Photo

Although they may have struggled a little bit during the season, Carmelo Anthony’s tournament run defied all odds and secured legendary status for coach Jim Boeheim and this group. They were the giant killers, or better yet, the Big 12 killers. In their tournament run, they took down number one seed Oklahoma, who was ranked third for the majority of the year. Then they took down Texas, who was a top three ranked team all season long. And finally, in one of the most thrilling finals of all time, Carmelo Anthony and the Orangemen defeated Bill Self’s Kansas Jayhawk, the number one team in the country, by a score of 81-78. Big man Hakim Warrick made a game-saving block on what appeared to be an open look from three for Kansas guard Michael Lee. Carmelo Anthonys’ 22 points a night along with his 10 rebounds a game were so dazzling he himself deserved the spot on this list.

9. Illinois Fighting Illini (2004-05)

Instagram Photo

The only team to make this list that didn’t win a championship, the Fighting Illini were one win away from being eight spots higher on this list. Coached by Bruce Weber and led by star point guard Deron Willians, along with his supporting cast that featured big-time scorers in Dee Brown and Luther Head, this Illinois team was dominant. With a record of 37-2 and being recognized as the number one team in the country until being defeated by UNC in the national title, this was one of the most cohesive groups to ever take the floor together. The only other blemish on the record was a loss to Ohio State in the season finale, where they lost 65-64 in a thrilling game in Columbus. The other loss, as previously mentioned, came at the hands of the Tar Heels in a great final that saw the Tar Heels win 75-70 in what was considered a huge upset. However, the accolades cannot be ignored. Bruce Weber took home Coach of the year, Williams and Head were consensus second-team All-Americans, while Brown received consensus first-team All-American honors. Not to mention big man James Augustine being awarded Big 10 Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

8. Villanova Wildcats (2017-18)

Instagram Photo

A recency bias, no. An ultra-talented team, yes. Coach Wright’s second group to win the championship, led by star point guard Jalen Brunson, with a supporting cast featuring an NBA player almost everywhere you look, this year’s Wildcats were more than worthy of making this list. Role players like Mikal Bridges, Omari Spellman, and Donte Divicenzo are a rarity at this level, and the work this group put it in will not be forgotten. With that said, the main reason they make this list is that after losing to integral parts of their previous championship team in Josh Hart and Kris Jenkins, everyone else decided to elevate their game, making them truly unstoppable. While this is a compliment to the players, it is rather targeted to Coach Wright and the unbelievable system he has working for him in Philadelphia.  When considering accolades, Brunson took home the John R. Wooden player of the year while Bridges won the Julius Erving award as he was recognized as the best small forward. As individuals these guys were great but as a unit, no one could compete with them.

7. Kansas Jayhawks (2007-08)

Instagram Photo

Standing alone as coach Bill Self’s only national title winner, the Jayhawks safely find themselves on the list. With four scorers all averaging over 11 points in lead guard Mario Chalmers, swingman Brandon Rush, and big men Darell Arthur and Darnell Jenkins, this group shined together, and no one was bigger than the team. Not until “the shot” where Mario Chalmers hit a game-tying three as time expired in the national final against a heavily favorite Memphis Tigers team, led by superstar point guard Derrick Rose. This was, in fact, the real Derrick Rose, the one that played like Russell Westbrook, only more efficiently and without the turnovers. Coached by John Calipari, the Tigers were a fixture to win the title that season. Thanks to the incredible shot by Chalmers, that idea became a fallacy. En route to their title, the Jayhawks went 37-3. The first of those losses came against in-state rival Kansas State at Kansas State where they lost by nine. The second came against number 11 ranked Texas in Austin, where the Jayhawks lost 72-69. The final loss came against Oklahoma State in Stillwater where they dropped a one-point game to the Cowboys. With all of the losses coming on the road and within 10 points, this team should have been the favorites to win it all, and sadly the experts had it all wrong that year.

6. Uconn Huskies (2003-04)

Instagram Photo

Coached by the legendary Jim Calhoun and led by star big man Emeka Okafor, the Huskies come in at number six. Okafor played the role of Batman with his 17 points and 12 rebounds a game, while Ben Gordon was a perfect Robin putting up 19 points a game with his sharp-shooting from the outside. They had the perfect inside-outside combo, and Calhoun had these guys playing the game the right way. They were the pre-season number one ranked team, and the finished it that way, being the first team to do so since Rick Pitino and his “Untouchable” Kentucky team. The national championship game against Georgia Tech showcased exactly how Uconn was able to beat any opponent. Ben Gordon got hot in the first half hitting three three-pointers in the first 10 minutes as Okafor slowly started to take a hold of the game. This was the recipe that led them to a 33-6 record and was the first of three championships to come in the next 12 years.

5. Kentucky Wildcats (2011-12)

Instagram Photo

After putting together talented group after talented group, legendary head coach John Calipari finally won the bg one. With a dynamic freshman duo like no other with a superstar in Anthony Davis and the ultimate game-changer in Micahel Kidd-Gilchrist, the Wildcats ended their terrific season the right way. While cruising to a 38-2 record, the Wildcats sealed the deal with a 67-59 win over Kansas in the national championship where their defensive greatness was on full display. One of those two losses came during the season to number two ranked Indiana who won it at the buzzer  73-72. Kentucky avenged this loss in the tournament with a beatdown of the Hoosiers that ended with a final score of 102-90. While Anthony Davis’s career has taken off in the NBA, putting him correctly in the top five conversations, injuries have slowed down Kidd-Gilchrist during his time in the league and we have yet to see the player who was the true leader of this Wildcats team.

4. North Carolina Tar Heels (2004-05)

Instagram Photo

After four years of coaching the Tar Heels, Roy Williams earned his first title with the team. A season in which everyone was playing in the shadow of the Fighting Illini, Williams had a special group, who quietly had a special year that ended with a bang. Led by star big man Sean May and Bob Cousy award winner Raymond Felton, the Tar Heels had a ridiculous amount of depth. This could be seen in the NBA draft preceding the tournament that featured four Tar Heels being selected in the lottery. Combo forward Marvin Williams was selected second overall, Felton went fifth, May 13th, and guard Rashaad McCants 14th. This unprecedented stat also speaks to how good that Illinois team was. It took four lottery picks to beat them.

3. North Carolina Tar Heels (2008-09)

Instagram Photo

As deep as that first group was, this Tar Heels team was even better. Led by one the best ever to suit up at the college level, Tyler Hansborough finally got his championship in his senior season. While he was certainly the star, this team featured a handful of great role players. That list includes Danny Green, Wayne Ellington, Ed Davis, and of course star guard Ty Lawson. This team played fast and was one of the most potent offenses the college game had ever witnessed. They were scoring 85 points a game on their way to a 34-4 record, which is almost unheard of at the slower paced college game. The tournament is where this team truly displayed their greatness winning each game by at least 12 points, including a dismantling of Michigan State 89-72 in the final.

2. Duke Blue Devils (2000-01)

Instagram Photo

Of all the championship teams coached by Mike Krzyzewski, this group stands tall amongst the rest. With star players including National player of the year Jason Williams and Defensive player of the year Shane Battier; this team was dominant on both sides of the ball. En route to their 35-4 and record and a national title, the Blue Devils had one game that stood out. During the regular season, Duke dropped a disappointing game against Maryland at home 91-80. When they faced the Terrapins again in the final four of the NCAA’s they trailed by 22 points in the first half, and returned in the second with a vengeance and defeated the Terrapins 95-84 flipping the script to the way it was originally supposed to be. In the national title, they took down number two ranked Arizona, who was the pre-season number one team. This team had it all, and will forever be remembered as one of Krzyzewski’s best units.

1. Florida Gators (2006-07)

Instagram Photo

Coming off of an unexpected championship run the previous season, coach Billy Donovan led the Gators to back-to-back championships. They are the only team to repeat in the 2000’s era and deserve to be the alpha dog of these great teams mentioned above. Donovan’s group was led by center Joakim Noah, who played with grit and toughness that went unmatched at the college level. His supporting cast featured Corey Brewer, Taurean Green, Al Horford, and Marresse Speights. Individually, these guys are from the most talented to players to play the game, but as a group, their teamwork, heart, cohesiveness, and will to win was not matched in their two-year run. Similar to the Kansas team mentioned above, no one was ever bigger than the team, and that motto was embraced to fullest by these guys. In a national title against dominant freshman center, Greg Oden and his number one ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, the Gators did what they do best and found a way to neutralize Oden and win the game going away 84-75 capping off their back-to-back titles, the greatest accomplishment any team can say of the 2000’s era.

Best July 4th Recipes: Top 5 Best & Easy Food To Make

The Fourth of July is soon upon us, with people throughout the United States hosting barbeques and whatnot. That said, there are always ways to spice things up each year, so if you are tired of the same old hot dogs and hamburgers this year, we’ve got you covered.

Hot Docos

Instagram Photo

If you want your hot dogs to have a little more crunch than usual, you can always ditch the soggy bun for a hard shell taco! Hence the name, “hot doco.” Technically, it doesn’t have to get more simple than that, but WQAD offers a recipe complete with jalapenos and guacamole.

Cheesy Hot Dog Croissants

Instagram Photo

It’s an oldie but a goodie, essentially a cousin to “pigs-in-a-blanket.” A bit more traditional, you substitute the bun with a warm, crispy croissant. In fact, you bake it with the hot dog. Normally, you also wrap it around with cheese before you wrap it around in the dough, as seen in this recipe, according to WQAD.

Old Fashioned Lemonade

Instagram Photo

July 4th is a time when the people of the United States celebrate American history, so an old-fashioned classic is always a good idea. More to the point, barbeques are usually for families and you need something for the kids, or really anyone under the age of 21, to drink. Obviously, lemonade is primarily sugar, water and lemon juice, so it shouldn’t be that hard to whip up, but that’s just the base! Throw in some mint sprigs and berries, naturally red and blue, for the holiday, and you might even appease your holier-than-thou cousins who only drink fruit-infused water.  According to Country Living, it can also be a good idea to boil the water and sugar long enough to make into a syrup, which you then mix which lemon juice and water.

Bourbon Barbeque Pork Chops

Instagram Photo

With a little bit of creativity, you can barbeque pretty much anything. To be honest, with a little bit of creativity, you can make pretty much anything using a hot plate, but for 4th of July, we do barbeque. Country Living offers a recipe for barbequed pork chops complete with a homemade sauce that has a little something for everyone: ketchup for the everyman, cayenne pepper for the adventurous, garlic for the foodie and even whiskey. That’s right, we’re cooking with whiskey!

Bacon Siracha Potato Salad

Instagram Photo

Potato salad is just as much a staple of the Fourth of July barbeque as the meat. For some, you just eat it because it is traditional, but I’m sure there are plenty of people who like it. But just because something is traditional doesn’t mean that we can’t make a few changes here and there. Peas and Crayons has a recipe that makes a few changes to potato salad. Did I mention it involves bacon? And siracha? Already on top of potatoes? Nobody remembers this dish already comes with potatoes!

Heather Weldon, a mother-of-two, is being investigated by authorities after surveillance footage showed her stealing money from 94-year-old Thomas Hendrix’s wallet.

The footage, which was taken on Monday, June 25, shows Weldon and her two children enter Hendrix’s home in Douglas, Georgia. Hendrix, a Navy veteran, lives with a caretaker that was not home at the time.

Surveillance footage from inside of Hendrix’s home shows Weldon’s two children leading Hendrix into another room as Weldon stayed behind, claiming she was going to use the bathroom.

At this time, Weldon can be seen taking money from Hendrix’s wallet before flushing the toilet.

Neil DeLoach, the caretaker that lives with Hendrix, said he was not home when this happened and does not know Weldon.

via WISTV:

“Well, first of all, I didn’t know who they were. I was kind of panicking. I knew Mr. Hendrix didn’t know them. It kind of scared me that I’ve got security cameras all over the property that you can see and they still came right in and you know, very brave. And that’s what scares me about the whole situation, people are just brave,” said DeLoach.

Police say they were able to identify Weldon when she identified herself on Facebook while trying to defend herself:

“I did not steal from him it was all a big misunderstanding. I done spoke with the man and everything is took care of!!,” Weldon wrote in a Facebook comment.

She faces a misdemeanor charge of theft by taking.

5 Most Outrageous, Must-See Competitive Eating Records

Independence Day is right around the corner and for a specific set of elite athletes, that means it’s their chance to prove themselves to the world. Competitive Eaters from far and wide are gathering on the 4th of July to decide who can really eat the most hot-dogs in a single sitting. Hot-dog eaters are only a single subdivision of the sport, however. Like a track meet, there are many different forms and many different records waiting to be broken. In honor of our heroes who will be attempting to eat their way to stardom on America’s Birthday this Wednesday, here is a look back on the greatest accomplishments of the toughest eaters out there.

1. Joey Chestnut: 72 Hot Dogs in 10 minutes

For those new to the game, Jory Chestnut is Lebron James. His stamina, technique, conditioning, metabolism, and heart are unmatched – his numbers speak for themselves. At Nathan’s famous hot dog eating contest in Coney Island, which is like the Superbowl of Hot Dog eating, Chestnut narrowly bested his previous record of 70 Hot Dogs in 10 minutes. So, Joey Chestnut eating 72 Hot Dogs in 10 minutes is like if Lebron James won the Superbowl if that makes any sense. Chestnut made $10,000 for finishing first place in 2017. And for fun, take a look at Chestnut’s caloric intake for that day:

Calories: 20,160
Sodium: 56,160 mg
Total Fat: 1,296 g
Saturated fat: 432 g
Trans fat: 36 g
Monounsaturated fat: 0 g
Potassium: 0 mg
Total Carbs: 1,728 g
Dietary Fiber: 72 g
Sugars: 288 g
Protein: 720 g
Cholesterol: 2,160 mg

2. Matt Stonie: 200 Peeps in 5 minutes

Eating a single Peep is hard enough to do, so Matt Stonie downing 200 in a single sitting is impressive on a biblical level. For this challenge, Stonie ate 5600 calories and 1360 grams of sugar, making him the person I hate most in this world, coming from someone who puts on 10lbs just for thinking about bread. Matt Stonie has also triumphed over an 11,000 calories sundae, a 20,000 calorie Superbowl meal, and well, literally anything you can probably think of.

3. Takeru Kobayashi: Cow Brains

Here is some thought for food (hehehe), how did Takeru Kobayashi eat 17.7 pounds of cow brains? His feat is believed to be evidence for divine intervention. Jokes on the side and cow brains for an entree, Takeru Kobayashi’s record has yet to be beaten. You can witness Kobayashi eating a measly 10lbs of cow brains below, something he did several years ago. Wow, look how far he’s come.

4.  Oleg Zhornitskiy: 1 Gallon of Mayonaise

You remember Mayonaise, right? It’s the stuff in egg salad that makes it taste great but you know it’s disgusting so you lie to yourself and pretend you can’t taste it? It’s nothing but egg yolks, oil, and vinegar, after all. That’s probably what Oleg Zhornitskiy was telling himself right before he battled through four, 32-ounce bowls of mayonnaise is in 8 minutes. Sadly his achievement is apparently a classified tape unavailable to the public, and my extensive internet search couldn’t uncover it to share. Instead, Check out Matt Stonie eating other gross stuff while you’re here, though:

5. Joey Chestnut: Twinkies

Considering how many records he holds, it might be safe to say Joey Chestnut, and his cohorts put people like Adam Richman, host of Man Vs. Food, and Harley Morenstein of Epic Meal Time, to shame. In this competition, he put away 121 Twinkies in 6 minutes for a total of 18,200 calories.

The 2018 Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest will air on Wednesday, July 4th.

10:50 ET – WOMEN’S COMPETITION – ESPN3 / ESPN APP

12P ET – MEN’S COMPETITION – ESPN2

Men’s competition will also re-air on ESPN2 at 4p and 7:30p ET

Former Virginia College Student Suing Fraternity For $7.3 Million

Patric Solander, a former Radford University student, has accused a fraternity of hazing and is suing for $7.3 million in damages.

Solander’s suit accuses the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity chapter at Radford of hazing. The suit lists 28 defendants, including the national chapter, two members of its national prevention and accountability teams, a local chapter adviser and more than a dozen members of the chapter at Radford University.

In June 2016, Radford University suspended the chapter due to “substantiated violations of student conduct standards, including hazing.”

via The Roanoke Times:

In July 2016, four RU students, all members of the now-disbanded fraternity, pleaded guilty to hazing and alcohol charges related to making pledges perform push-ups on bottle caps, and other painful and humiliating initiation rituals. Yet in subsequent semesters, some students continued to recruit new members and call themselves Pi Kappa Phi.

In December, seventeen men were arrested in connection with an incident in September 2017 during which a pledge received what was claimed initially to be a burn from a brand during an initiation ritual.

In February, eight of those 17 men had their hazing charges dropped after it was found a malfunctioning vape unit, not a branding iron, caused the pledge’s burn. On March 1, the remaining members of the rogue fraternity had all hazing charges thrown out, with most pleading guilty to lesser charges such as providing alcohol to minors.

John Andrews, a spokesman for the national fraternity, says it does not comment on pending litigation.

Since being dismissed from the university in 2016, the Pi Kappa Phi chapter at Radford University has not returned to campus.

Below is the full list of allegations outlined in the suit:

– Providing “slave” services to brothers, including cleaning their houses, perform menial tasks like picking up laundry or giving them rides.

– Watching another pledge be “water-boarded ,” doused with ice water and having a filthy mop run across their faces.

– Being forced to eat onions doused in cayenne pepper, causing Solander to vomit, which they then forced him and other pledges to eat.

– Being forced to participate in a hazing ritual known as “bows and toes” in which pledges were made to crawl on the concrete floor with bottle caps on their elbows.

Solander claims he was “severely physically and emotionally injured” as a result of the hazing.

LeBron James Lakers Jersey Number: What Number Will King James Wear?

LeBron James made his highly-anticipated NBA Free Agency decision on Sunday, July 1. The NBA star made his long-rumored move to the Los Angeles Lakers, signaling his departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time in his career. The first time LeBron left his hometown team, he took his talents to South Beach to join the Miami Heat.

The move from Cleveland to Miami also resulted in a change of jersey number for King James, who switched from No. 23 to No. 6.

When LeBron returned to The Land, he once again dawned the iconic No. 23.

But now that he is set to take the court at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in a new Lakers jersey, will LeBron be making a jersey switch yet again? Well, it looks like we have our answer.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell took to Twitter to share some news from Fanatics, an online supplier of sports jerseys from the major leagues. Initially, after the signing, LeBron Lakers jerseys featured a No. 00 as we waited to learn what number he will wear in L.A. That has since changed with the LeBron jerseys featuring his No. 23, so it looks like there will be no jersey number change this time around.

JUST IN: Once deal goes through, LeBron will be #23 on Lakers. Fanatics has changed number from placeholder of #00 to #23 on jersey preorders. pic.twitter.com/MrIektYHWf

— Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) July 2, 2018

You can expect those to fly off the shelves as the new era of the Showtime Lakers with LeBron, Lance Stephenson, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, and other rising young stars look to return the franchise to relevance in the Western Conference after missing the postseason five straight seasons.

LeBron’s first opportunity to wear his new Lakers jersey will come on Sept. 30 at Valley View Casino against the Denver Nuggets in the NBA preseason. We will have to see just how many LeBron Lakers fans are in attendance.

This May Be The Title of ‘Avengers 4’

Marvel

Despite the fact that Avengers: Infinity War has been out for a little over two months, fans of the behemoth Marvel Cinematic Universe have already set their sights on next year’s sequel. Which is understandable, considering of Infinity War ended. SPOILERS FOLLOW.

As we all now know, by the end of Infinity War, Thanos achieves his goal of uniting the Infinity Stones and snaps half of the universe’s population out of existence and into thin air.

The ending of Infinity War was divisive, to say the least. While some people found it to be shocking and brave, I found it to be quite cheap, as half of the characters who evaporated already have sequels in the works.

However, if Marvel — and the rumored title of Avengers 4 — is to be believed, then we ain’t see nothing yet.

via Esquire:

Because Marvel fans currently have nothing better to do, this weekend they checked the resume page of Avengers 4 cinematographer Trent Opaloch and noticed he listed a film called Avengers: End Game. He’s since updated his resume and changed the title to Avengers 4, but the damage had already been done.

A number of fans have pointed out that this is a reference to a scene in Avengers: Infinity War, when Doctor Strange is searching through every possible outcome in the battle with Thanos to see if there’s any possible ending in which the Avengers can win. Out of 14 million possible outcomes only one has the Avengers winning. Just after Doctor Strange hands the Time Stone over to Thanos, he tells Iron Man, “We’re in the end game now.”

This hints at the theory that everything that we see playing out is part of Doctor Strange’s plan, which is to allow Thanos to win first before Strange goes back in time to reverse everything that happened.

While the Russo brothers — the directors of the films — have insisted that the title of the Infinity War sequel would not be coming from the dialogue of the movie, “End Game” just makes too much sense and seems to be the most logical option.

Working Scholars Program Helps California Residents To Earn Tuition-Free College Degrees

One of the most stressful parts of the college experience is finding ways to pay for it. Sure, there’s student loans and scholarships, but, at the end of the day, there’s no such thing as a free lunch, or so it seems. However, in recent years, new programs have come out of the woodwork essentially offering tuition-free college courses. One examplie is the Working Scholars tuition-free college program, which allows residents of certain Bay Area cities to earn a bachelor’s degree at no cost.

How does the program work?

Launched in January 2017 in California, the Working Scholars program originally focused on the Mountain View area but eventually branched out to Gilroy, Sunnyvale and East Palo Alto, with plans to eventually branch out to other Bay Area cities. Students who enroll complete the majority of course requirements online through Study.com, which employs animated video lessons and study tools at the middle school level through college and beyond. Creating 150 courses for college credit by the American Council on Education and/or the National College Credit Recommendation Service; students then transfer to Thomas Edison State University, a four-year accredited university, to finish their final online requirements.

At this time, the program has seen a 90% retention rate; hundreds are currently enrolled in the program, with over 1,000 individuals applying to the program.

People are sharing their testimonies about the program

Lisa Gauthier, the vice mayor of East Palo Alton is one such person who has been involved in the Working Scholars program. According to Forbes, she gave the following statement concerning her experiment:

“I always knew I wanted to get my degree, but traditional school was out of reach financially, especially since my two daughters’ college education came first.”

“The Working Scholars program was so appealing to me not just because it’s cost free, but the platform is really convenient to use. I can access all the content on my phone or laptop or squeeze in lessons in between meetings or just before heading to bed at night.”

WWE Raw Live Stream: How To Watch Monday Night Raw Online – 07/02/18

Friendships have taken a hard hit the last few weeks on Monday Night Raw. Friends new and old have found fissures growing in their duos and more blows are sure to come this Monday. Also, is there a new title that represents Raw? All this and more on tonight’s Monday Night Raw. Here’s when and where to watch the show!

Tonight Raw will be at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Last week Kevin Owens tried to extend the hand of friendship and how did Braun Stroman return the favor? By chasing his tag team partner down and flipping his car over when he tried to leave the building. Will Owens be able to get revenge…will he even want to get revenge? Stroman did just flip over his car…

Seth Rollins has been fighting hard to regain his title but Dolph Ziggler has been able to hold tight to the Intercontinental Championship. It doesn’t hurt to have the looming Scotsman, Drew McIntyre in your corner. Rollins spent months proving why he is a fighting champion but Ziggler has proved he’s up for the fight. Also with the news that Brock Lesnar may be absent past Summer Slam, these two have made it so that the IC Title may actually be Raw’s flagship title.

From new friendships to old, we move on to the Raw Women’s Championship. Ronda Rousey has been suspended due to her aggression against current Women’s champ Alexa Bliss but even with her gone, Bliss has a major issue. Former best friend Nia Jax. Jax and Natalya proved that even with Rousey out there are plenty of things to worry about. Bliss will face Jax at Extreme Rules for the title but you can bet The Irresistible Force will want to get her hands on The Goddess sooner than later.

Another set of best friends have come to blows in the Raw Women’s division. Bayley finally snapped and attacked Sasha Banks in a boil over that has been building for weeks. The Hugger is usually positive and kind but it seems The Boss has pushed her over the edge. GM Kurt Angle has intervened and told Bayley she’s required to go to counseling for her actions. Will the two be able to settle their differences? It may not be too bad if they don’t, the two put on absolute barn burner matches on during their time in NXT.

Simona Halep is one of the top women’s tennis players in the world and is riding high entering the 2018 Wimbledon Championships at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. The 26-year-old Romanian star enters the tournament as the No. 1 overall seed and has been the top-ranked player on the WTA Tour since October 2017.

Halep, who is fresh off of her first major win in the 2018 French Open, aims to keep the momentum rolling.

After losing her previous three Grand Slam Finals, Halep knows that she needs to stay grounded but also feels a sense of relief having that monkey off of her back.

“Of course inside of myself it’s a change because I’m really happy that I was able to break that barrier, but life is the same. Everybody’s the same. I am the same,” she said via The Independent.

“I have to start to play tournaments again. I’m here ready to go ahead. I’m really looking forward to start it. The pressure is off. The dream came true. I don’t stress myself any more with that Grand Slam thing. It’s nice to be in this position. It gives me just happy moments. I was dreaming of this. I did it. Now I have already set another goal.”

Despite holding the No. 1 ranking, Halep has just 14/1 odds to win the tournament, a bigger longshot than Petra Kvitova, Serena Williams, Garbine Muguruza, and Angelique Kerber.

Petra Kvitova enters the 2018 Wimbledon Championships at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London as one of the women to beat in the Grand Slam tournament. The 28-year-old Czech Republic star enters the tournament ranked as the No. 8 seed.

Kvitova trails the likes of French Open champion Simona Halep and defending Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza in the official seeding, but the oddsmakers like her chances even more. According to Bovada.lv, the two-time Wimbledon champion enters the tournament as the heavy favorite to hoist the Venus Rosewater Dish.

Kvitova sits at 9/2 entering the tournament, while Serena Williams (11/2), Garbine Muguruza (8/1), Angelique Kerber (11/1), and Simona Halep (14/1) round out the top five. Despite being the favorite to win it all, Kvitova hopes to play more relaxed and free.

“I think, like, I’m kind of the player who loves to play those Grand Slams. As I said already, sometimes I want too much, which I tried to be more relaxed in Birmingham. Everything worked perfectly. I going to try to have the kind of the same mindset here,” Kvitova said at Wimbledon Media Day.

“But obviously, it’s not that easy. I know the great memories I have in my mind from the past years. It will be a little bit difficult to play more free. But I’m going to really try, I promise. We’ll see what happens. But overall I’m happy to be here in kind of different situation than the last year, so… I’m really enjoying it.”

We FINALLY Have A Trailer & Premiere Date For ‘Better Call Saul’ Season 4

AMC

Over a year since the season three finale, the first teaser trailer for season four of Better Call Saul has finally arrived! But more exciting than the trailer itself is the announcement of the release date, August 6, which is just about 5 weeks from now.

The third season of Better Call Saul came to a fiery conclusion — literally — as (SPOILER ALERT) Jimmy’s brother Chuck committed pseudo-suicide by setting his house on fire.

Based on the admittedly brief season four teaser, Jimmy seems closer to becoming Saul than ever, especially since he’s got some, uh, off-time until he’s officially a lawyer again.

via UPROXX:

“Do you know why God made snakes before lawyers? He needed the practice,” Jimmy tells an unseen group of presumably legal types in the opening scene. Of course, this is no longer the Jimmy McGill Better Call Saul fans have become accustomed to. He’s no longer a lawyer, which means he must don tactics that are likely unbecoming of a well-meaning attorney. But Breaking Bad‘s Saul Goodman? Heck yeah, he’d cut all kinds of corners to get back into the game, and it sounds like season four will see Jimmy trying out some of these moves for the first time. “Strictly gainful employment and in 10 months, poof, I’m a lawyer again!”

Better Call Saul, a spin-off and prequel to the legendary AMC hit Breaking Bad, will return for its fourth season on Monday, August 6, at 9 p.m. EST.

This Is Why You Never Reconnect With Friends From High School

Reconnect With Friends From High School

Shutterstock

The last day of high school is sad for a lot of people. Saying goodbye to all your friends before you head off to college is heartbreaking. The constant promises of keeping in touch, but in reality you never do. After a finishing a couple semesters or quarters you realize that you don’t want to have to reconnect with old high school friends. That doesn’t mean you can’t, you may be close to those friends and want to stay together. But, there are times where you want to leave high school in the past, and that includes the people that were in it.

Shutterstock

High school was a time of puberty, curfews, first kisses, dances, driving, etc. But, you are an adult now and have experienced the real world. College is a new world with new opportunity. You get to meet new people that become lifelong friends. The nights of staying up studying with your roommate, the twelve o’clock ice cream runs, movie nights, lunch dates, gym sessions, etc. You start to discover yourself and see where you belong in the world. You will surround yourself with other adults who are experiencing the same thing. So, what about your friends from high school?

It ’s, and you can connect with your old friends, but it’s not the same. There are usually two scenarios that happen when reconnecting with old high school friends. One, you are both on two separate sides of life. You have discovered what you want to do in life and it’s the complete opposite of your friend. Two, one of you has not grown up. That usually happens with the people who are still living in the glory days of high school. The ones who peaked in high school. These things happen, and it sucks when you realize it. And once you know it, you stop talking to them and focus on your life with your new friends.

Shutterstock

As you get older, you tend to avoid your friends from high school. This is the time you have accepted the loss of friendships, and you want to live your own life separate from everyone else. You are tired of the “hey, how are you?”, “how is life?”, “what are you doing these days?”, Type of conversations that will eventually lead to “let’s get together sometime.” And let’s all agree you never do. For those of you who do say these things, if you are at the mall or the grocery and see an old friend from high school who is trying to hide from you, take the hint and don’t talk to them. There is a reason they are trying to avoid you.

Let’s be honest. For those of you who are still in high school or just graduated, the goodbye’s you say to your best friend from childhood will probably be your last goodbye. Yes, it’s heartbreaking, but you will understand once you go off to college what I am trying to explain to you. The only way you could stay friends is if you’ve known that person since birth or your parents knew each other when they were kids. Those are usually one in a million and can only happen in hallmark and lifetime movies. Now, don’t get sad because college is full of people who will become your new best friends that you will hang onto your entire life.

4th Of July Drinks: 5 Cool Cocktails To Serve At Your Party

Shutterstock

The Fourth of July is one of the best party holidays of the year and for the perfect party, you will need to have a perfect drink selection. It is easy to make cocktails that taste great but getting them to look great for your Independence Day parties is a little more difficult. Look below for five perfect cocktail recipes that will not only taste fantastic but also visually fit in with the patriotic themes of your July 4th party.

Blueberry Mojitos

A mojito is already one of the best summer cocktails, and this one will kick up your patriotic spirit with the American colors it represents. To make this drink, start by combining a cup of fresh blueberries and four teaspoons of sugar in a blender. Transfer the mixture into a large pitcher and use a wooden spoon to crush fresh mint leaves into blueberries. Then add a cup of white rum, a half cup of fresh lime juice and half a liter of club soda. From there all you need to do is mix and start pouring drinks. For an added visual appeal, garnish your drinks with fresh whole blueberries and mint leaves.

Red, White & Blue Shots

Shutterstock

The first drink on the list is a layered red, white and blue shot that has the perfect patriotic appearance for any Independence Day celebration. This drink is deceptively simple, as all it takes is layering equal parts grenadine, Blue Curacao and vodka into a shot glass. If you don’t know how to layer a shot it is actually pretty easy. Start with the grenadine and pour it straight into the glass being careful to not pour down the side. From there use the backside of a spoon to pour Blue Curacao into the glass and then use the same procedure to top off the shot with the vodka.

Patriotic Snow Cone

Everyone loves snow cones and this is an adult take on a childhood favorite. This drink is also deceptively simple despite the fact that looks incredibly professional. Start by filling a short glass with crushed ice (over the rim of the glass) and almost completely filling the glass with Sprite. Then add an eighth of a cup of grenadine and let it settle at the bottom of the glass. Once the grenadine is completely settled, pour a quarter cup of Blue Curacao over the ice so that it sits on top, separating from the Sprite. Once the drink is together, you won’t have to finish it before the ice melts but that won’t be a problem as you party guests will be downing this quicker than you can keep up.

Red, White & Blue Sangria

Shutterstock

If you want to find an easy to make a lot of drinks, this is definitely the best way. This drink is just a simple combination of ingredients but that doesn’t lessen how great the taste is. To make this drink, combine two bottles of dry white wine, a half cup of berry-flavored vodka, 1 cup of triple sec, half cup of lemon juice, a cup of fresh blueberries, a cup of fresh cut strawberries, a cup of raspberries and a cup and a half of pineapple chunks. After all the ingredients are combined in a large bowl and thoroughly mixed together, cover and let it set in the refrigerator for at least four hours. Once that is done, all it takes is scooping this delicious drink into everyone’s cups and the party is on.

Purple Independence

This purple drink may not initially look as patriotic as some of the other drinks on this list but purple is exactly what happens when you combine the red, white and blue colors. The drink also happens to be fantastically delicious and super easy, which helps it make the list. Simply add ice, a shot of raspberry vodka and a half shot of cranberry juice, sweet and sour mix and blueberry schnapps. Simply shake, serve and drink up.

Elina Svitolina ented the 2018 Wimbledon Championships at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London as the No. 5 seed in the tournament and sits at 25/1 odds to win the Venus Rosewater Dish. The 23-year-old Ukranian tennis star was one of the favorites entering the Grand Slam tournament.

However, in the opening round of the tournament, Elina was stunned by German world number 57 Tatjana Maria, 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-1. Svitolina committed a whopping 44 unforced errors during the match. She was one of two top seeds to suffer Day 1 defeats, joining American Sloane Stephens.

It was the first top-five win of Maria’s career.

Leading up to the Wimbledon Championships, there was some belief that Svitolina could be one of the breakout stars in the tennis world. Unfortunately, the concerns about her ability to perform on the big stage proved to be accurate. From Sports Illustrated:

Svitolina needs to transfer her success at the concert halls to the arena shows. But she’s a terrific athlete and among the best returners in the women’s game.
