Joe Jackson, the father of Michael Jackson and an original manager of The Jackson 5, has passed away at the age of 89. Jackson passed away at 3:30 AM Wednesday in Los Angeles, California, due to cancer.

We broke the story … Joe was hospitalized in June with terminal cancer. His family had been flocking to his bedside since. His wife, Katherine, had been at his bedside as were some of Joe’s children and grandchildren.
Joe had been battling health problems for some time now. He was hospitalized back in 2016 after coming down with a high fever. But, he bounced back not long after and was seen partying in Vegas. His health was also fragile after a stroke and 3 heart attacks back in 2015. Doctors implanted a pacemaker.
A rep for Michael’s estate tells us, “We are deeply saddened by Mr. Jackson’s passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Katherine Jackson and the family. Joe was a strong man who acknowledged his own imperfections and heroically delivered his sons and daughters from the steel mills of Gary, Indiana to worldwide pop superstardom.”

Joe Jackson, the talent manager and patriarch of the Jackson Family, had 10 kids with his wife of more than 60 years, Katherine. Five of his sons, including Michael Jackson, made up the Jackson 5.
Jackson founded the Jackson 5 in the 1960s. Michael Jackson, the eighth of Joe’s eleven children, went on to become one of the most successful musicians of all-time.
Known as the “King of Pop”, Jackon’s “Thriller” album is the best-selling album of all-time with estimated sales of 66 million copies.
In addition to Michael, Jackson’s youngest child, Janet, also had a successful pop career. During her career, Janet sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
Jackson was inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in 2014.
