Tina Pourani, a 23-year-old California woman, was arrested on Thursday, June 14, on charges of having unlawful sex with a minor. Pourani and her friend, 24-year-old Talia Sisco, were both arrested.

According to detectives, the two women used social media to initiate contact with three boys all between the ages of 15 and 16. Talia was a student teacher and Sisco was a teacher at Bernal Middle School in San Jose. She was charged with counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and oral copulation of a minor.

Sisco is being held without bail while Pourani has been released pending further investigation after paying $60,000 bail. She is being charged with multiple counts each of oral copulation of a minor and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and arranging a meeting with a minor to commit a sex offense.

During the investigation, suspect Talia Sisco was a student-teacher at Bernal Intermediate School

“None of the victims at this point appear to have come from the middle school,” said Sheriff Laurie Smith. “They were high school boys that were the victims that we identified.”

Once the school was notified, Sisco was removed as a student teacher.
Investigators fear there could be more victims.

“We believe there’s a fourth victim that we have evidence of but we haven’t identified,” Smith said. “We’re still looking for additional people that may have been affiliated with these women.”

The women could face additional charges if more victims come forward. Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to contact the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s office.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Detective Unit at 408-808-4500 or the Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services anonymous tip line at (408) 808-4431.

Talia Sisco, a 24-year-old teacher at Bernal Middle School in San Jose, California, was arrested on Thursday, June 14, for allegedly having sex with multiple teenage boys. Sisco and her friend, 23-year-old Tina Pourani, were both charged.

Sisco was charged with multiple counts each of oral copulation of a minor and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and arranging a meeting with a minor to commit a sex offense.

Police, who began investigating in April after getting tipped off about alleged inappropriate behavior, say both women used social media to initiate contact with three boys who were all between the ages of 15 and 16.

Since its creation in February 2005, YouTube has become one of the most popular websites to go to. Today it creates billions in revenue for Google and plays host to millions of people and their videos. It has become so popular since its inception that some of its users have made a living by constantly posting videos and gaining millions of followers to watch those videos. You’d be hard pressed to find someone today who doesn’t regularly watch videos. I myself am a fan of MightyCarMods, a couple of Australian guys working on cars and having fun. Those who have made a living off of YouTube range from Gamers to make-up artists. But the very best have earned fortunes not unlike those of professional athletes. Here’s the top ten richest YouTubers in 2018.

10. Lilly Singh – $10.5 Million

Instagram Photo

Known as iisuperwomanii on YouTube, she is the only woman to crack the top 10. The Canadian born star started her channel in 2010 and has since amassed 13 million subscribers and over 1 billion views. Her channel includes music videos, sketches and all sorts of comedic entertainment. Because of her popularity, Singh has seen screen time in movies like “Bad Moms,” and on the Disney channel show “Bizzardvark,” as well as often collaborating with celebrities, like James Franco and Selena Gomez, for her videos. She will lay a role in HBO’s upcoming “Farenheit 451” adaptation.

9. Smosh – $11 Million

Instagram Photo

Even if you’d never seen their videos, like me, it was difficult not to know who Smosh was. At three different times during their time on YouTube, they were the most subscribed to channel. Created by Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox in 2002 as its own website, they joined YouTube right away. Soon their channel grew to never before seen heights as it exploded in popularity. Their channel produced all kinds of sketch videos, culminating in nearly 23 million subscribers as of 2018. In june of 2017, Padilla announced that he was leaving Smosh to pursue other ventures. With Hecox going at it alone, Smosh is still growing.

8. Ryan Toysreview – $11 million

Instagram Photo

If you’re in college and why you couldn’t have found a way to make a bunch of money while doing nothing, I would skip over this one. In just over three years, Ryan has grabbed 14.1 million subscribers and has over 22 BILLION views on his videos. How, you might ask? He, uh, opens toys, plays with them and gives his review. He’s also six years old and has more money than most of us will ever make. Figures.

7. Jake Paul – $11.5 million

Instagram Photo

When it was announced that the app, Vine, was shutting down, the youth went into a bit of a panic. It had quickly become a smash hit and gave birth to stars, not unlike YouTube. Once the app shutdown, most of those stars made a leap to YouTube. Several kept their success going, including the Paul brothers. First up is the younger brother, Jake Paul. With 14 million subscribers to entertain, his posts range from music to vlogs and even sketches. He was a regular on the Disney channel show “Bizzardvark” but was let go due to a supposed “bad boy” persona. Now he spends his time on YouTube only.

6. Felix Kjelberg – $12 Million

Instagram Photo

In 2010, Kjelberg dropped out of college and started his own YouTube channel. Under the name PewDiePie, Kjelberg took the internet by storm with his video-game commentary. In August of 2013, PewDiePie became the most subscribed to channel on YouTube. He has held that title since then, other than a 46 day span where YouTube’s own channel surpassed him. He currently has over 63 million subscribers and 17 billion views. In 2016. Time magazine named him one of “The World’s 100 Most Influential People” for that year.

5. Mark Fischbach – $12.5 Million

Instagram Photo

Starting in 2012 with his channel Markiplier, Fischbach has grown to become one of the most successful YouTubers out there. Like PewDiePie, Fischbach specializes in video-game commentary, a well as vlogs. He is known for playing mostly horror type games, setting him apart from his fellow game commentators. The YouTube personality has gained over 20 million subscribers since forming his channel and has nearly 10 billion views.

4. Logan Paul – $12.5 Million

Instagram Photo

Like his brother Jake, Logan is a former Vine star. Since moving to YouTube, he has seen himself caught in a few precarious situations. From showing a real body hanging from a tree in a Japanese forest or tasering dead rats, he certainly has some… interesting videos, to say the least. But throughout all of the controversy, he has remained incredibly popular, with just over 21 million total followers, and nearly 4 billion views since 2013. Say what you will about him, but he’s making money and lots of it.

3. Dude Perfect – $14 Million

Instagram Photo

Throwing some balls in hoops is how it started, and now they are the 7th-most subscribed channel on YouTube. The guys from Dude Perfect, Coby and Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert, Cody Jones, and Tyler Toney are all former high school basketball players who went to Texas A&M. There they met and started making videos of trick basketball shots. From there, their popularity exploded, resulting in several mobile games and even their own T.V. show. They hold several Guinness world records as well, the setting of which helped them reach over 30 million subscribers and 5 billion views.

2. Evan Fong – $15.5 Million

Instagram Photo

As gaming becomes even more popular as the days go on, so do its stars. Known as VanossGaming on YouTube, Fong has become one of the most successful channels on the site since joining in 2011. His channel features video game commentary and group play with other YouTube gamers. Along with his regular videos, Fong is also a part of the animated YouTube Red show “Paranormal Action Squad.” His success and popularity among YouTube is shown by his nearly 23 million subscribers and nearly 10 billion views.

1. Daniel Middleton – $16.5 Million

Instagram Photo

Known as DanTDM on YouTube, the 26-year-old has more than YouTube to thank for his success. He started his channel in 2012 and has since gained over 19 million subscribers and 12 billion views. Middleton’s videos mainly focus on the game Minecraft, of which he produces a new one each day. Other than his videos, he has a New York Times Best Selling graphic novel and has been featured on several YouTube series and Netflix shows. Middleton is the perfect example of what can happen when you start making internet videos.

Tunisia vs. England wraps up a busy day in Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. It also concludes the first match day of Group G following a morning matchup between Belgium and World Cup debutant Panama. Tunisia and England face off at Volgograd Arena in Volgograd on FOX Sports 1.

Tunisia lacks a star player that is recognizable on the world stage, but they do have a creative midfielder in Wahbi Khazri that will be important in setting up any potential attacks and scoring opportunities for The Eagles of Carthage. England, meanwhile, is making its 15th World Cup appearance. The Three Lions are led up front by Harry Kane, while Jamie Vardy, Danny Welbeck, and Raheem Sterling will also contribute to the attack. In the midfield, look for Dele Alli and Jordan Henderson to be the creative minds. On the backline, England has some familiar faces like Gary Cahill, Danny Rose, and Ashley Young.

All of the information you need to catch Monday’s match in Volgograd can be seen below.

The 10 Best College Basketball Coaches Of All Time

College basketball is a one-of-a-kind sport. It’s a game where individual greatness is outweighed by a great team led by a great coach. However, when a great coach inherits the best talent, it is all about what he can do with that talent that will define him and his career. The following list takes a look at the 10 best coaches at the college level based on factors such as their wins, their ability to develop talent, and their accolades.

10. Jim Valvano, North Carolina State (1980-90)

Record: 346-210

Instagram Photo

Known for his legendary sprint down the court after being in complete shock after his Wolfpack won the national title in 1983, this list could not be made without “Jimmy V.” In that 1983 season, Houston was an enormous favorite to win the national championship led by all-world center Hakeem Olajuwon. The game was tied 52 a piece until a buzzer-beating dunk by Lorenzo Charles sealed the deal, and finally delivered the great Jim Valvano his deserving championship. Valvano also makes this list because of his heart-touching speech at the ESPY awards in 1993. Valvano was fighting cancer, and his message was to live your life to the fullest, and of course to never give up. Sadly enough, Valvano past away just two months later, but his speech, his championship sprint, and his character will never be forgotten.

9. Jim Calhoun, Uconn (1986-12)

Record: 873-380

Instagram Photo

The three-time champion Jim Calhoun created a dynasty during his tenure for the Uconn Huskies. He’s always had a knack for managing talent, but his legendary trait was getting the most out of his players. On his 2004 championship team, led by Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon, he turned those two players into NCAA legends themselves. Neither really panned out in the NBA, which just points to how good of a coach Calhoun was. At age 68, he became the oldest coach to ever win a title when March Madness became Kemba-mania in 2011. Guys love to play for Calhoun because they know that he’s going to push them to be the best version of themselves. While Kemba has had a solid NBA career, he’s yet to make any noise comparable to that of his Uconn days. Again showing that Calhoun just had a natural talent for pushing guys to perform to the best of their abilities while also playing with more heart than the opponents. He was a master at creating schemes that work to each of his players best attributes and safely finds himself on the list.

8. Jim Boeheim, Syracuse (1976-present)

Record: 926-328

Instagram Photo

The architect behind the most versatile 2-3 zone defenses the game of basketball has ever seen, coach Jim Boeheim built a legacy out of it. For over 40 years, he has been running the 2-3 zone, and teams still don’t understand how to beat it, for the most part. This is because Boeheim recruits specific players that fit the zone, and he adjusts it according to what his player’s strengths are. With only one championship under his belt, it would be easy to say that he has underperformed, however, unlike Kentucky’s and Duke’s of the world, Boeheim doesn’t go after the best players; he is more concerned with fit. The one exception to this would be when homegrown Carmelo Anthony decided to come to Syracuse, and of course, they win the championship in his only season there. While this is a compliment to Anthony’s incredible freshman dominance, it only makes you wonder how good Boeheim’s teams could be if they consistently recruited the top players. His true greatness sticks out in the NCAA tournament where he boasts a record of 48-28. Maybe his greatest accomplishment of those wins was taking a Last-four team in the tournament to the final four but he was sure to not allow the Cinderella tag to be put on his guys. In the NCAA’s you have very limited practice time, so adjusting to that 2-3 is much harder than trying to figure out holes in a teams man-to-man defense. Nonetheless, accumulating all these wins with less talent than other national powerhouses, Boeheim safely secures a spot on here.

7. Tom Izzo, Michigan State (1995-present)

Record: 574-225

Instagram Photo

With seven final four’s under his belt, two appearances in the National championship including a win in 2000, Tom Izzo has had an incredible run at Michigan State and certainly created a dynasty. With an incredible 18 straight appearances in the NCAA’s consistency is the word to describe Izzo. In some of these season’s Izzo has been blessed with some pretty talented players like Draymond Green and Mateen Cleaves just to name a few, but with him, like the previous guys mentioned on this list, its what he did when the team was low on talent. The reason why Izzo is not lower on this list is that he has been a part of two of the uglier upsets in NCAA history. In 2016, as a two-seed, the Spartans were Vegas’s odds on favorite to win the national title, above that seasons one-seeds. The Spartans lost in the first round to Middle Tennesse, at the time being known as the biggest upset in NCAA history. Then just this past year, the Spartans a three-seed this time, but oddly enough still the favorite to win the championship fell to Syracuse, an 11 seed, in the second round of the tournament. If either of the teams could have played to their potential, Izzo would be at least a couple spots higher.

6. Dean Smith, North Carolina (1961-97)

Record: 879-254

Instagram Photo

11 final fours, two national championships, one NIT championship, and a whopping 17 ACC regular season titles, not to mention the 13 times he won the ACC tournament, Smith has the quite the resume. With the opportunity to coach one of the best teams that ever played, Smith cashed in on a championship in 1982. With the likes of James Worthy, Sam Perkins, and the third leading scorer on the team, Michael Jordan, the Tar Heels were able to beat Georgetown 63-62 in the championship. Down by 1 with 25 second to go, Smith drew up a play for the freshman Michael Jordan, due to knowing that Georgetown was going to lock down on Worthy and Perkins. With 17 seconds left Jordan elevated up for his iconic midrange two and nailed it. This was not only a genius coaching move by Smith but it also was the start of the legacy that became Michael Jordan as this was his first game-winning shot. Dean Smith’s legendary attribute was that he knew more about his players than the players did themselves, he was always thinking of the opposing team wasn’t as displayed with the gutsy call in ’82. While six may seem a bit high for him, his failure to win in the 70’s with some pretty dominant groups was a big disappointment, which is why six feels right.

5. Adolph Rupp, Kentucky (1930-72)

Record: 876-190

Instagram Photo

The four-time NCAA champion, one-time NIT champion, and 27 time SEC champion, known as the “Baron of Bluegrass,” Adolph Rupp’s coaching career was legendary in all aspects. Learning behind the inventor of the game James Naismith, along with another coaching great in Forrest Allen during his time at Kansas, Rupp was able to implement his knowledge learned into his coaching schemes. During his era of coaching, the game was more defined by the coaches rather than the players. This speaks to Rupp’s greatness because with all thing being equal, his was able to win essentially five championships. The only blemish on his resume, unfortunately, came with his most talented group. In 1966 his Wildcats, who were known as “Rupp’s Runts” for their dominant aggressive play fell short in the national championship to little unknown Texas Western. The political story of this game is a different debate, however, with Pat Riley and Louie Dampier, Kentucky had significantly more talent. But Rupp took Texas Western and their starting five (all African-Americans) lightly and was not the better-prepared team. This blemish is what stops Rupp from getting any higher on the list.

4. Roy Williams, North Carolina (2003-present)

Record: 842-227

Instagram Photo

The heir to the legendary Dean Smith, in just 15 years in Chapel Hill, Williams has surpassed the coaching icon. With three championships and nine final fours, Williams career at UNC has been nothing short of incredible. Like Smith, he has inherited a lot of high-level talent through recruiting and has made the most of it. The championship in 2017 was fun, however, it was a weak year for college basketball so we’ll focus less on that one. In 2009, as the pre-season favorites, Williams’ Tar Heels dismantled the Michigan State Spartans in the championship game proving how good this team was. While Danny Green, Ty Lawson, and Wayne Ellington have all generated some buzz during their time in the NBA, the unquestioned star of this team was Tyler Hansbrough, who just didn’t pan out in the more athletic NBA, proving again that the coaching was the x-factor. Williams made Hansbrough shine like one of the greatest at the college level through his fast-paced offense that allowed for easy buckets, his team’s relentless attack on the offensive boards has also been a trademark of Williams coached teams. This same story was written five years earlier when the Tar Heels shocked the world and beat an Illinois team that could have had an argument for the best collegiate team ever if they would have won that game. Led by Sean May, whose NBA career lasted a whopping two seasons, Williams tactics and schemes of playing fast and attacking the offensive glass set his team up for a shocking upset and his first national title.

3. Mike Krzyzewski, Duke (1980-present)

Record: 1,027-279

Instagram Photo

Five national championships, 12 final fours, 14 ACC titles, and five-time coach of the year, Krzyzewski has one of the most decorated resumes in all of the sports. All of his title teams had their own flare, but his greatness is more recognized for his consistency, similar to Bill Billichek, head coach of the New England Patriots. Bill and Mike have more in common than you think. There must be something in the water at West Point as that is where both of these coaching icons spent their college years. In Krzyzewski’s case, he was learning to play point guard under legendary coach Bob Knight, who will be mentioned later. All of his accomplishments, the one stand that stands out is the development of Christian Laettner and his Duke legacy. Shocking the world twice along with stopping the incredible group from Michigan known as the “Fab Five,” Duke ran the 90s. With star players everywhere you looked, it was Krzyzewski and Laettner that stood tall, earning Krzyzewski a safe spot at number three, with a large gap between him and Williams.

2. Bob Knight, Indiana (1971-00)

Record: 902-371

Instagram Photo

He yelled, screamed, threw a chair, argued with refs, argued with his players, argued with opposing player, all en route to one of the finest coaching careers there was. Five final fours, three championships, one NIT championship, and 11 Big Ten titles, Bob Knights greatest achievements came in the mid 70’s when he put together the best group to ever play, while also stopping UCLA’s championship run. In the ’75 season, Knights group was undefeated entering the NCAA tournament, however, after losing star player Scott May to a broken arm, their run ended in the Midwest Regional. If that injury never happens, then this team would be the best ahead of the ’76 version, that with a healthy Scott May, did not lose a game again and this time won the national championship and is widely considered the best team of all time. May and the rest of Hoosier’s starters, who made up four of the five spots for the first-team All-Big 10 were great, but there were many great players in the 70s. What made them special was Knight did not care who they were or how good they were, he pushed them like they were freshman in some unorthodox manners, only to produce the finest play the college game has ever seen.

1. John R. Wooden

Record: 664-162

Instagram Photo

10 championships in 12 years, including a stretch that saw seven in a row, of course, Wooden was going to be at the top of this list. With Lew Alcindor leading the first run, and Bill Walton with the next group, Wooden inherited easily two of the five best individual talents at the college game. As mentioned time and time again, college basketball is a team-oriented game, and you are not going to win unless you have a cohesive team where everyone understands their role and does not get bigger than the team. This is where Wooden captured his greatness. The players had only the utmost respect for him and understood his concise messages which allowed for their unprecedented sustained success. When Lew Alcindor was playing, he was so much taller than everyone else that he would just dunk the ball over everyone. This caused the NCAA to implement the no dunking rule, which was imposed to stop UCLA’s dominance. It didn’t because Wooden adjusted Alcindor’s game and developed the iconic hook shot, that was unguardable once he mastered it during his time in the NBA. The list could go on and on about how good of a coach this guy was, but the development of Kareem-Abdul-Jabar should say it all. If not, just check out how Bill Walton did during his time with the Bruins.

5 Players The World Cup Will Make Soccer Stars

You know your favorites. You know the big names. The World Cup is the perfect place to watch the most talented players in the world compete. There are the classics such as Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, and Müller. Then you’ve got your newer faces who exploded in the recent years, like Kane, Salah, and de Bruyne. However, the World Cup introduces a different category. The tournament provides an excellent platform for players who are not necessarily known to the common fan, to gain some spotlight attention. These are the players who enter the cup inconspicuously and by the time mid- July rolls around, are being recruited by Europe’s top clubs. Let’s take a look at five players the World Cup will make soccer stars.

Hirving Lozano (Mexico)

Instagram Photo

The 22-year-old who goes by ‘Chucky’ is the winger for the Dutch club, PSV. He was overlooked by some of the top-tier clubs in Europe but has made quite a name for himself despite this. The winger scored 19 goals for PSV this past season and most likely it’s due to his ability to pass a defender using either foot. The skilled player is expected to come out of this tournament with heavy recruitment offers, especially if Mexico makes it far. After securing a 1-0 win over Germany, this outlook appears very favorable.

Marco Asensio (Spain)

Instagram Photo

Spain is stacked with talent and as a result, Asensio seems to have been hiding in the shadows. Nonetheless, the 22-year old will prove significant for the team’s attack. His driving runs down the wing will be dangerous for opposing teams. Asensio has a keen awareness of the field and excels at creating space as well as opening the field up wide. Already there have been reports that Chelsea has sought the Real Madrid player out.

Christian Eriksen (Denmark)

Instagram Photo

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is already a popular player in the game, but more so within the Premier League. On the Spurs, he’s one of the best, however, for his national team, he is the best. Therefore this tournament is the 26-year-old’s opportunity to prove on an international level just how great he is. He’s an elegant player maker on the Spurs, and no doubt he will showcase this skill set for Denmark.

Cristian Pavon (Argentina)

Instagram Photo

The Boca Juniors winger has only very recently started to gain some attention in the world of soccer. The 22-year-old is incredibly fast down the wing and does an excellent job setting up his teammates. His addition to Argentina’s roster was slightly surprising, but Pavon has found his place on the team as well as demonstrated his undeniable chemistry with Messi on the field. Despite it being so early into the tournament, Arsenal is reportedly ready to sign him.

Kylian Mbappe (France)

Instagram Photo

The 19-year-old is a forward for Paris Saint-Germain, but currently on loan for Monaco. Two years ago, Mbappe wasn’t on anyone’s radar. He has since blown up at club level. In his past two seasons, he scored 47 goals in 88 games. It’s automatically obvious when you see him play, that he’s a gifted player. He controls the pace of the game very well and is a notorious finisher. Along with Lozano, Asensio and Pavon, Mbappe is part of the new generation of soccer. With this tournament, Mbappe can hopefully make a name for himself at an international level.

University of Central Florida Fraternity Suspended After “Revenge Porn” Suit

The University of Central Florida has suspended the Sigma Delta Chi fraternity on Friday, June 15, just days after they were sued by Kathryn Novak, the ex-girlfriend of a member who claims the fraternity engaged in “revenge porn”.

According to Novak, her ex-boyfriend and Sigma Delta Chi fraternity member Brandon Simpson filmed one of their sexual encounters and shared it with his fraternity brothers. Furthermore, Novak claims that the video was shown at a chapter house meeting and has been seen by more than 200 people.

Novak’s lawsuit claims that five total members of Sigma Delta Chi shared and viewed nude videos and photos of her without her permission last year. The defendants have been accused of invasion of privacy, infliction of emotional distress and negligence.

The suit says that the video was shared on a secret Facebook page called the “Dog Pound,” where “fraternity brothers routinely posted electronic images of their sexual ‘conquests’.

via  NBC News:

The lawsuit says members of the fraternity also posted nude imagery of their “sexual conquests” to the Facebook page — all without the women’s consent. Novak’s attorney, Michael Avenatti — better known as the lawyer for adult film star Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had an affair with President Donald Trump — said in a phone interview from California that there are more victims in the case. “We expect there to be numerous victims at this time — certainly into the double digits,” he said.

The complaint, filed in United States District Court for the the Middle District of Florida in Orlando, states that Novak and Simpson saw each other twice a month. In October of last year, the suit alleges, he recorded video of a sexual encounter with her and quickly distributed it to four fraternity brothers, Jacob Pelkey, Andre Perales, Jonathan Landrum and Matt Farley.

Simpson and the others eventually passed it along to a wider fraternity audience for viewing at chapter meetings, the suit alleges. The video ended up on a “secret” Facebook page they called the Dog Pound, it says, along with erotic pictures of Novak that she had sent to her boyfriend with the understanding that he would not let others see them.

The fraternity itself is also named in the suit.

The national Delta Sigma Phi fraternity organization announced on Thursday, June 14, that it had suspended the University of Central Florida chapter.

“While we cannot comment on specific allegations made in the lawsuit, these claims are disturbing and antithetical to our organization’s values and mission,” the organization said in a statement.

Top 10 Best College Basketball Players Of All Time

Basketball is the one team sport where individual greatness can outweigh a great team. Throughout the different eras of the game, special individuals have dominated the game that separates themselves from all the other greats. This list was made up by not only considering championships and individual accolades but also the effect the players had on the game while they were inking their mark into the record books. With hundreds of guys to choose from, the 10 players mentioned below each brought a trait that separated them from the pack, and these are their stories.

10. J.J Redick, SG, Duke (2002-06)

Instagram Photo

A fearless scorer despite his size, Redick may be remembered as the best shooter in the three-point era of college basketball. Although his Duke teams’ fell short of a national title, Redick put together enough spectacular performances to make his way on to the list. During his true freshman season, Redick averaged a nice 15 points while shooting 40 percent from three-point land. After increasing his scoring average to 16 points per game in his sophomore season, and then to 22 points per game his junior season, his career elevated to legendary status in his senior year. Averaging 27 points a game with a 42 percent clip from three, it is easy to see why he is remembered as being one of the most lethal threats the game has seen, especially shooting from beyond the arc. These outstanding numbers also set him up for a National Player of the year award, along with his second, back-to-back, ACC player of the year award.

9. David Thompson, SG, North Carolina State (1972-75)

Instagram Photo

Known as the original Michael Jordson, Thompson was one of the most gifted athletes and scorers the game has ever witnessed. With a national championship under his belt, Thompson easily finds his way onto this list. While he was a menace as an on-ball defender, buckets came easily to Thompson as his athleticism was never matched. As a true freshman, Thompson averaged 25 points a game while shooting 57 percent from the floor, and this was without the three-point line. For a guard to shoot that high of a percentage on all two-point field goals, this was simply unheard of. Even more impressive, standing at just 6’4, Thompson averaged at least eight rebounds in every season he played for the Wolfpack. As some of his accolades include national player of the year and three-time ACC player of the year just to name a few, none of his awards triumph his national title run in 1974, when his Wolfpack ended an eight-year title run for John Wooden and his UCLA Bruins.

8. Pete Maravich, G, LSU (1967-70)

Instagram Photo

“Pistol Pete” finds himself safely on this list as is widely known as the greatest scorer in college basketball history. While some critics will argue in his era of basketball the competition was comparatively weak, averaging at least 44 points a game in all three of his seasons with the Tigers warrants a spot on this list. Standing at 6’5, Maravich was a nightmare for opposing guards to handle, especially when trying to keep him out of the lane. On top of that, Maravich was also a lights-out shooter, who played without the three-point line. Give him that and he might have been averaging over 60. He was unstoppable at the collegiate level, with the only knock on him being that he could never win the big one. In his final season at LSU, they finished fourth in the NIT (National Invitational Tournament); this was the farthest he and coach “Press” Maravich (his father) took LSU.

7. Wilt Chamberlain, C, Kansas (1956-58)

Instagram Photo

In just a two year stint, Wilt the Stilt made his legendary mark felt. Standing at a long 7’1, weighing 275 lbs, Chamberlain was the most unguardable player to ever step foot on the hardwood. After leading the Jayhawks to a national final matchup against the revamped North Carolina Tar Heels in his freshman season, it was clear to see that Chamberlain was born to dominate basketball. In the national final, Mcguire used an unheard of unorthodox style of triple teaming Wilt throughout the entire course of the game. It took one guy in front of him, one guy behind, and another flashing over immediately when a pass was made to him to stop this guy. Not to mention the double overtime and stalling tactics the Tar Heels used to seal the game. In his second season, while seeing the triple team defense that Mcguire implemented, Chamberlain still found a way to manage to score 30 points a game to go along with his 18 board. Unstoppable is putting it lightly, and there is a reason there is an argument to be made that he was the greatest basketball player of all time, at any level.

6. Larry Bird, SF, Indiana State (1976-79)

Instagram Photo

A magician with the rock in his hand, Larry Birds’ accomplishments with the Indiana State Sycamores were truly spectacular. Averaging at least four assists, 12 rebounds, and 29 points throughout his three-year collegiate career, Bird was a jack of all trades. His lights-out shooting goes a little unnoticed due to the lack of the three-point line while he was still playing in college. His greatest accolades include Naismith National Player of the Year along with two consensus first-team All-American honors. After improbably leading the Sycamores to a perfect 33-0 record, and a date with Michigan State in the national title, Birds greatness was felt across the nation. Although he fell short to Magic Johnson and the rest of the Spartans, Bird would later get his revenge in the NBA, and be a part of one of the greatest rivalries to ever exist in basketball; Magic vs. Bird, which later evolved into Celtics vs. Lakers.

5. Len Bias, SF, Maryland (1982-86)

Instagram Photo

One of the more tragic stories basketball has witnessed, Len Bias’s life was cut short before he could ever take the floor in an NBA game. However, his greatness from his collegiate days will never be forgotten. As a freshman, Bias struggled to find consistency as his coaches often referred to him as raw and undisciplined. Seven points a game, while playing just a hair over 22 minutes a game certainly does not warrant a spot on this list, especially how high he is ranked here, however, it is how he grew as a player throughout the course of his days at Maryland that makes him more than worthy. Standing at 6’9, weighing 210 lbs, Bias had all the physical tools in the world to become great, it was just up to him if he was going to put in the work. His sophomore and junior campaigns put him on the map, but it was his senior season that put him over the top. Increasing his scoring total all the way up to 23 points per game, along with seven board, and a nice 55 percent from the floor, Bias finally lived up to the sky-high expectations coaches put on him when he was just a raw undisciplined freshman. Oozing with potential, Bias was selected second overall by the Boston Celtics, however, due to a tragic cocaine overdose, Bias was never able to take the floor for the Green and White. Think Michael Jordan in a 6’9 body, this one is still tough to swallow.

4. Tim Duncan, PF, Wake Forest (1993-97)

Instagram Photo

Accurately recognized as “the Big Fundamental,” Tim Duncan’s legendary basketball career began in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Duncan burst onto the scene in his freshman season for the Demon Deacons, where he was averaging 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. Duncan expanded his offensive arsenal during his sophomore season, upping his points per game total to 17 while retaining his rebounding and defensive prowess. There was a lot of buzz surrounding Duncan during his second year, with many experts talking about him going first in the upcoming NBA draft if he were to declare early. However, Duncan stayed true to his word and decided to stay with Wake Forest for all four years, which was a huge monetary gamble. Usually, when a player stays in school, there’s a good shot his pro stock will depreciate, yet this was not the case for Timmy. Injuries plagued his NCAA tournament runs causing his Demon Deacons to never make it passed the sweet 16. Nonetheless, his individual greatness was on full display. As senior, he put up gaudy numbers with 21 points per game, 15 rebounds, three blocks, and three assists. The king of the fundamentals, Duncan safely finds his spot towards the top of this list.

3. Bill Walton, PF/C, UCLA (1971-74)

Instagram Photo

While filling Lew Alcindor’s shoes could be a daunting task, Bill Walton did it with ease. With back-to-back championships in 1972 and 1973, the Bruins didn’t miss a beat. Led by Walton and his ridiculous line of 20 points a game, 15 rebounds, and an incredible 65 percent from the floor, there’s a strong argument that his UCLA teams could have challenged Alcindor’s group but that’s a different story. With such an incredible shooting percentage and a relatively high volume, Walton cruised to three National Player of the year awards, along with three consensus first-team All-American honors. Not to mention the back-to-back 30-0 seasons he anchored. The only argument about Walton being mentioned here is that he could probably be even higher.

2. Lew Alcindor, C, UCLA (1966-69)

Instagram Photo

Later known as the great Kareem-Abdul-Jabar, Alcindor burst onto the scene the second he stepped foot on the court for the Bruins. While it may have not been the most competitive era college basketball had seen, Alcindor had no problem cruising to a championship in each of the three seasons he played for the Bruins. Like Walton, Alcindor also had no problem in receiving three straight National Player of the year awards, while leading the Bruins to seasons of 30-0 during his freshmen campaign, 29-1 his sophomore season, which is widely considered the best one-loss team the NCAA’s have ever seen, followed up by another 29-1 championship season his final year. As good as Alcindor was in college, the man that became Kareem Abdul Jabar and dominated the NBA was somehow even better.

1. Christian Laettner, PF/C, Duke (1988-92)

Instagram Photo

Arguably the most hated player to play college basketball, Laettner thrived off his villain role. Playing in one of the most competitive era’s of college basketball history, Laettner’s back-to-back titles in ’91 and ’92 along with his clutch killer instincts allowed him to find himself at the top amongst college basketball’s greats. A final four in his freshmen season, followed by a runner-up finish in his second year, finished off with two incredible title runs during his junior and senior seasons, Laettner was made to play college basketball, and be the star when it counted most. In 1990, Duke was matched up against UConn in the elite eight where UConn was leading Duke 78-77 with two seconds to go in the game. Legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski drew up a play that set up Laettner for a turn around jumper, which he drilled as time expired. In 1991, Duke and UNLV were tied at 77 a piece with Laettner going to the free throw line with less than three seconds remaining in the game; he drilled them both and Duke went on to win the championship. In 1992, Duke trailed Kentucky 103-102 with two seconds left in the game. Krzyzewski again drew up a play for Laettner; a full court pass which he had to jump up and grab, and then immediately turn around and shoot as time expired. He drilled it and Duke won its second title in a row. Laettner had a clutch gene like no else, and his ability to thrive when it counted most, all while being the most hated player in the game is what puts him at the very top of the best to ever play the college game.

Top 10 Richest Comedians On Earth Right Now

Richest Comedians Ever

While most comedians come from extremely humble beginnings, that has certainly changed for them when considering the vast amounts of wealth they have managed to obtain. While it’s impressive enough that they were able to achieve so much mainly through speaking for a living, from this list we see that it also takes some business sense to truly become one of the wealthiest. Most of these comedians worked not just in stand-up, but other aspects of the entertainment industry as well in order to amass their fortunes.

10. Joe Rogan Net Worth: $25 million

Instagram Photo
Known on many platforms as a standup, ex-fear factor host, podcaster and MMA commentator, it’s no wonder Rogan has accumulated such a significant sum of wealth over the years. Still a well-known standup today, he has also made significant money from the specials Netflix has bought from him. He is expected to release another one soon as well, meaning that this current number is only going to go up in the near future.

9. Jim Gaffigan Net Worth: $30.5 million

Instagram Photo
Jim Gaffigan had a slow but eventually meteoric rise in the world of comedy which eventually led to him accumulating the significant wealth he has today. After graduating college he spent seven years constantly in comedy clubs attempting different styles of comedy before eventually getting his break after an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman. His career took off from there and he had since gone on to release multiple specials on Netflix as well as star in his own show appropriately named The Jim Gaffigan Show.

8. Amy Schumer Net Worth: $37.5 million

Instagram Photo
Achieving success fairly early on in her career, Schumer appeared on the comedy central talent show Last Comic Standing after having only done stand up for two years at that point. This led to many opportunities for her resulting in finally recording her own Comedy Central Presents special in 2010. From here her career continued to snowball as she made many cameos on other shows while also writing and producing her own award-winning sketch comedy show Inside Amy Schumer in 2013. She went on to record numerous more specials for Netflix, as well as write her own book which has in total resulted in her being one of the wealthiest working comedians today.

7. Louis C.K Net Worth: $52 million

Instagram Photo
One of the most recognizable names in comedy, C.K had to work for years before obtaining this recognition. Starting his comedy career in Boston in 1985, he slowly achieved success before moving to Manhattan in 1989. From here he got his first writing jobs with Late Night with Conan O’Brien and then the Late Show with David Letterman before eventually shifting his focus to filmmaking in 1998. After many years of being on the brink of major success, he finally started to achieve global recognition with the release of a half hour special on HBO in 2005 as well as his first TV show Lucky Louie in 2006. After this, he finally became a household name and has since been releasing a new hour-long special almost every year, bringing in tons of income as a result of this work ethic. Recently though, a very public controversy has almost entirely halted his income, but that hasn’t detracted from what he has already accumulated.

6. Dave Chapelle Net Worth: $75 million

Instagram Photo
Another one of the most widely recognizable comedians, Dave Chapelle was almost an instant success and at age 19 was already opening for Aretha Franklin. His big break came in 1998 though, when he alongside other stand-up Neil Brennan wrote the cult stoner classic Half-baked. His career took off from there with his first half-hour special being released in 2000, and his infamous show, Chappelle’s Show airing in 2003. He apparently disliked the global fame the show resulted in though, and in 2005 he is reported to have turned down a $55 million contract for two more seasons, instead deciding to take a trip to South Africa. Eventually coming back though, he is now back on top and is said to have made a deal with Netflix, getting $60 million for three specials.

5. Ricky Gervais Net Worth: $99 million

Instagram Photo
Ricky Gervais is an incredibly prolific entertainer, having done work as a stand-up, writer, producer, actor and director throughout his career. Initially known for creating and staring in the original version of The Office in 2001, he continued to produce shows as well as continue his stand-up career during this time period. Since then he has gone on to either write, produce or star in six TV series and various movies as well as releasing a new stand-up special in 2018. The result of this work is one of the most significant sums of wealth a comedian from outside America has obtained yet.

4. Chris Rock Net Worth: $100 million

Instagram Photo
Chris Rock, another iconic entertainer, got his start on Saturday Night Live, using it as a platform to venture into various other mediums of entertainment. After leaving SNL after just two years in 1993 Rock didn’t take long to star in his first HBO comedy special in 1984. He achieved acclaim for the special and was quick to release two more in 1999 and 2004. His main source of income came from starring in films though, as he went on to star in movies like The Longest Yard as well as Madagascar, and more recent films like Grownups. The result of all this as well as well as a deal he recently made with Netflix valued at between $20-$40 million has made Rock one of the wealthiest working stand-ups today.

3. Terry Fator Net Worth: $120 million

Instagram Photo
It’s probably surprising to see this name so high on the list because as far as comedians go, Fator is certainly not as recognizable as others. After his win on the second season of America’s Got Talent though, having already won the million dollar prize, Fator immediately got a residency in Vegas for a contract of up to $20 million per year. While this number can vary depending on how much his shows sell out, he still seems to be doing quite well for himself with statista.com reporting he made $18.5 million in 2017.

2. Kevin Hart Net Worth: $130 million

Instagram Photo
Still being a fairly young comedian when compared to most on this list, the amount of wealth Kevin Hart has accumulated up top this point is nothing short of incredible. This can mostly be attributed to his serious work ethic, as after releasing his first special in 2009, he continued to do so at almost a yearly rate with new specials coming out in 2010, 2011 and 2013, the last of which grossed him around $15 million. From here he approached starring in films with a similar amount of enthusiasm and has consistently been starring in one to two movies a year since 2012. The result of these two incredibly successful aspects of his career is that Hart is now one of the wealthiest comedians in history.

1. Jerry Seinfeld Net Worth: $920 million

Instagram Photo
indisputably the wealthiest comedian of all time, Jerry Seinfeld has made his fortune partly from his standup career, but mostly due to the massive amounts of royalties he receives from his show Seinfeld. the show is said to have made about $3.1 billion in total revenue, and Seinfeld, as well as co-creator Larry David, both had the good fortune to walk away with a little less than a third of this each. Since then Seinfeld has continued to make astounding amounts of money and is said to have closed a $100 million dollar deal with Netflix in return for two specials as well as his popular web show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Emilia Clarke Has Said Goodbye To Game Of Thrones

For Emilia Clarke, the game has finally come to an end. The game of filming, that is. Game of Thrones has been HBO’s most successful show to date crushing ratings domestically and internationally for years. The eighth and final season will air sometime in 2019 but when that date will be is anyone’s guess. Filming pickup scenes and additional shots wrapped early June 2018, which was roughly around HBO’s estimated target range. Now the final footage is going into production and one actor, in particular, is feeling especially nostalgic about her time in Westeros.

Emilia Clarke, who unless you live under a rock, portrays one of the most strong and beautiful female leads, Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones. Clarke recently paid a special tribute to Northern Ireland in her latest social media post, calling the country her home away from home in a lovely caption:

“Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade,” she wrote. “It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing #💔#lastseasonitis

The feeling is mutual.

Now that filming has officially ended it’s time to begin the speculating if Daenerys ever did get that iron throne she wanted so badly. It’s going to be a remarkable feat to bring the story together in the final season — especially with an abbreviated 6 episodes (although each episode is slated to exceed the 60 minute run time). Basically each week we’ll get the equivalent of a short high budget movie to grace our television screens and pray that the white walkers don’t make it south. Somehow… I’m not going to hold my breath hoping all our beloved characters make it out unscathed.

The 10 Ant-Man Facts Every Fan Must Know

$

Marvel Comics

Probably one of the most obscure Marvel heroes currently leading a franchise, Ant-Man is nevertheless returning to theaters with sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp this summer. Seemingly a comedic breath of fresh air after the high stakes and grim ending of Infinity War, many Marvel fans are raring to finally see the Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) in action, as well as the introduction of characters like Janet van Dyne, Bill Foster, and the Ghost, and the return of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) who was last seen in Civil War (2016). There’s also an edge of tension, as there’s a good chance half of the cast may go poof! as the movie catches up with the events of Infinity War.

To get ready for the movie, here are 10 facts about the present (and past) Ant-Man.

Tales to Astonish

Ant-Man was originally never envisioned as a superhero. A year before the debut of the Avengers comic series, the character first appeared in a one-off Tales to Astonish comic in 1961. Bordering on the horror genre, the surreal short story shows a scientist experiment with shrinking technology only to get trapped in an ant-hill.

Along with Hulk, Iron Man and Thor Ant-Mand and the Wasp were the original founders of the Avengers team in 1963. The Wasp was even the one who came up with the team’s name. The decision to leave the size-changing duo out of the 2012 Avengers film ruffled some fan’s feathers, though many drafts of the script included at least one of them on the team.

Ant-Men

In the movies as well as the comics Pym-particle creator Hank Pym and his wife Janet Van Dyne were the OG Ant-Man and Wasp, with Scott Lang and eventually Pym’s daughter Hope taking on their mantles. In the comics, Lang is only one of several Pym-particle using heroes and villains some of whom have already shown up in the film adaptions. Darren Cross was the villain Yellowjacket in Ant-Man (2015) and the third Yellowjacket in the comics (confusingly, the first was Hank Pym). The Ant-Mand And The Wasp trailer’s have also given us a glimpse of Bill Foster, a former associate of Pym’s who worked on a project called G.O.L.I.A.T.H. In the comics he used Pym particles to become the hero known as Giant-Man and Goliath

Hank Pym Made Ultron

The famous murder-bot originally had no connection to Tony Stark or the Infinity Stones but was instead inadvertently created by Pym. First coming ‘alive’ when the scientist experimented with using scans of his own mind as a template for advanced robotic, Ultron used all of Pym’s brilliance to it’s advantage and swiftly became one of the Avengers most persistent and dangerous enemies, driven by a sense of rejection from it’s ‘father’ Pym.

The Scarlet Witch (kind of) killed Scott Lang

In the controversial Avengers Disassembled event Wanda Maximoff lost her grip on reality and her probability warping powers after she began to recall the seeming loss of her twin children and lashed out at her friends and teammates. Scott Lang was the first casualty, his body immolated upon encountering a resurrected hero with explosive powers who was under Wanda’s control. Years later his daughter Cassie would use time travel to pull him to safety seconds before his body was destroyed, making Lang a staple of the comics once again.

Top 5 Scientific Minds

The ranking of the most intelligent Marvel characters tends to shuffle around a bit every few years as new characters are added, but Pym’s placement in the top percentage has been fairly steady for decades. While his specialty is in biochemistry Pym is immensely accomplished in a wide variety of other scientific fields such as robotics and engineering. In the MCU he’s ranked at as the 3rd smartest, behind only Tony Stark and Shuri.

Stature

Little Cassie Lang, Scott Lang’s daughter, appears in both Ant-Man films as a supporting character. An older version of her in the comics has gone on to follow her father’s heroic footsteps, becoming the Young Avengers member known as Stature. Cassie eventually saved her father from the Scarlet Witch, and though she shortly was killed afterwards she was later revived by Doctor Doom.

The reason Hank Pym wasn’t Ant-Man

As not only the original Ant-Man but a founding Avenger the choice to have Pym be the focus of the movies might seem strange to some, But the characters troubled past portrayal probably makes the decision to focus on Lang for the best. Over the years Pym has been portrayed as mentally unstable (often in a less than accurate or sensitive manner), manifesting symptoms such as radical mood swings and multiple personalities, before being officially diagnosed with BPD and schizophrenia. These led to Pym alienating himself from his teammates and his soon to be ex-wife Janet; in one infamous panel set he physically struck her. While the character has since been largely rehabilitated in the eyes of his fellow heroes and comic readers, it would still be a touchy thing to have Pym be a headlining character. The drastic re-working of his current MCU incarnation is probably the best way to have him be in this kind of movie, especially when it’s owned by Disney.

Scott Lang and Jessica Jones

Before seemingly being killed in Dissasembled Lang was briefly the love interest of super-powered detective Jessica Jones in her debut series Alias. The two had an admittedly lukewarm but still nice enough relationship, even dealing with hazards like an encounter with the Purple Man and ants in the bed.

Ant-Man in Phase One

An Ant-Man movie had been envisioned as early as 2001, long before the establishment of the MCU, by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish. They eventually pitched it to Kevin Feige in 2004, who hired on Wright as the director for what was supposed to be a Phase One adaption. The project increasingly stalled due to lack of name recognition compared to other Phase One heroes like Captain America and Hulk, and Wright and Cornish eventually split from Marvel entirely due to creative differences.

Ant-Man and the Wasp comes out July 6 2018. It stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Peña, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Twitter Reacts To The News Of America’s New “Space Force”

Comedy Central

On Monday, June 18, it was announced that President Trump had directed the United States Pentagon to create a Space Force, which will effectively serve as the “6th branch of the US military.” As for why America needs a space force, President Trump said it’s because we  “must have American dominance in space.”

To be honest, space is awesome — I’m a huge space nerd — so I’m all for further exploration into (and dominance of) space. After all — as countless sci-fi movies have told us — space is the final frontier.

As for what exactly the Space Force will be, not much is known about how it will operate other than that it will be a “separate but equal” military branch.

via The Hill:

“In defending America, it is not enough to merely have an American presence in space, we must have American dominance in space,” Trump said during a meeting with members of the National Space Council.

“I’m hereby directing the Department of Defense and Pentagon to immediately begin the process necessary to establish a space force as the sixth branch of the armed forces. That’s a big statement. We are going to have the Air Force and we are going to have the Space Force, separate but equal.”

The declaration follows statements made in March in which he endorsed the idea of creating an independent military branch for space.

However, while plenty of people are scrambling to figure out what the Space Force is actually going to do, we just wanted to find the best memes and Twitter reactions.

MTV Movie & TV Awards 2018: Nominees & Predictions

Though the ceremony itself took place on the 16th of June, the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards won’t air until June 18th. With a host as zealous as Tiffany Haddish and presenters like Seth Rogan, Kristen Bell and Lady Gaga, the show promises to be an unforgettable event paying homage to this year’s best screen work, all decided by your votes. To prepare for the 27th edition of this annual tribute, we’ve compiled a list of all nominees in all categories with notes on both who’s most likely to win and who probably should win.

Best Musical Moment

Instagram Photo

“Freedom” – Blackish
Timothee Chalamet Crying – Call Me By Your Name
“Bad B*tches” Dance Battle – Girls Trip
“I Wanna Dance With Somebody” – Love, Simon
“A Night We’ll Never Forget” – Riverdale
“Every Breath You Take” – Stranger Things
“Rewrite The Stars” – The Greatest Showman
“Landslide” – This Is Us

Though Timothee Chalamet’s sobs over the end credits of Call Me By Your Name, accompanied zby Sufjan Stevens’s “Visions of Gideon,” was one of the best acted scenes of the last year, the MTV awards are first and foremost a popularity contest, meaning that the win will probably go Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown’s slow dance in Stranger Things. Still, it’s good to see credit going to great shows like Blackish and This is Us. Riverdale and Girls Trip both feel like afterthoughts on this list and The Greatest Showman is seemingly only here to give Zac Efron yet another nomination.

Best Reality Series Or Franchise

Instagram Photo

Keeping Up With The Kardashians
Love & Hip Hop
The Real Housewives
RuPaul’s Drag Race
Vanderpump Rules

While it would be easy to write this off as an easy Kardashian win, RuPaul’s devout following is expected to pull a surprise win, though there are no clear winners between the two. Real Housewives and Love & Hip Hop both trail in the odds and if anyone knows what Vanderpump Rules is, keep it to yourself because we don’t really care.

Best Music Documentary

Instagram Photo

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story
The Defiant Ones
Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated
Gaga: Five Foot Two
Jay-Z’s “Footnotes For 4:44”

Odds for this category are bizarrely in favor of Diddy’s heartfelt but misguided tribute to Biggie Smalls in Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop. This strikes as odd since Footnotes for 4:44 was an emotional roller coaster, Simply Complicated heralded Lovato’s pop comeback and the Bad Boy Story is the lowest ranked of the nominees on IMDB. Regardless, rumor has it that Gaga already won this spot, though official results only come with the broadcast.

Best Fight

Instagram Photo

Lorraine vs. Sniper & Spotter – Atomic Blonde
Black Widow, Okoye & Wanda vs. Proxima Midnight – Avengers: Infinity War
Black Panther vs. M’baku – Black Panther
Hulk vs. Thor – Thor: Ragnarok
Wonder Woman vs. German Soldiers – Wonder Woman

Though all fight scenes in this category are worthy contenders, Avengers is very clearly poised to walk away with the win with its all-female, 3-on-1 fight. Vegas odds list Black Panther‘s battle for the throne as a far runner up, which, unfortunately, leaves Wonder Woman‘s masterfully choreographed battle in no-man’s-land as a distant third. Atomic Blonde and Thor: Ragnarok make strange additions to this list as the fight nominated aren’t even the best fight scenes in their own respective films.

Best Scene Stealer

Instagram Photo

Dacre Montgomery as Billy Hargrove – Stranger Things
Letitia Wright as Shuri – Black Panther
Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom – Riverdale
Taika Waititi as Korg – Thor: Ragnarok
Tiffany Haddish as Dina – Girls Trip

This is always one of the hardest categories to call and this year is no exception. Official odds have Letitia Wright and Tiffany Haddish virtually neck and neck for the win, but Taika Waititi’s stone-faced revolutionary could shock everyone with a surprise win. A lot of noise has been made online for Madelaine Petsch, but television stars rarely take this prize as films just have a larger audience to appeal to.

Best Comedic Performance

Instagram Photo

Amy Schumer – I Feel Pretty
Dan Levy – Schitt’s Creek
Jack Black – Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
Kate McKinnon – Saturday Night Live
Tiffany Haddish – Girls Trip

The smart money says that this award is Tiffany Haddish‘s to lose, it’s basically the reason she’s hosting this year after all. But we’d be lying if we didn’t see a scenario where Kate McKinnon‘s weekly impersonations or even Jack Black‘s hilarious turn as a teenage girl in a middle-aged man’s body didn’t sneak in for a win. Odds aren’t great for Amy Schmuer and as for Dan Levy…well it’s an honor just to be nominated, right buddy?

Best On-Screen Team

Instagram Photo

Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira & Letitia Wright – Black Panther
Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan & Nick Jonas – Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff & Chosen Jacobs – IT
Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Philip Zhao, Win Morizaki & Lena Waithe – Ready Player One
Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp & Sadie Sink – Stranger Things

There isn’t much competition here. The nominees include two different versions of a “loser’s club” (both of which include Finn Wolfhard because you’re never too young to be typecast), the team from Ready Player One which was barely a cohesive team (fitting since it was barely a cohesive film) and the Jumanji crew who were pretty much relying on the Rock and Karen Gillan to carry the film’s action sequences. Black Panther walks away from this one without a scratch. Here’s looking forward to next year when the Avengers will have to compete with the girls from Ocean’s Eight.

Most Frightened Performance

Instagram Photo

Cristin Milioti as Nanette Cole – Black Mirror
Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbot – A Quiet Place
Noah Schnapp as Will Byers – Stranger Things
Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh – IT
Talitha Bateman as Janice – Annabelle: Creation

In an age where the horror genre seems to be constantly reinventing itself, this is an increasingly relevant category and should go to the most deserving actor. Fortunately, it looks like Emily Blunt’s layered performance as a pregnant mom in the post-apocalyptic A Quiet Place is set to win, but the Stranger Things and Black Mirror fan bases could viably put their respective candidates in the first position. The terrified performances by the actors in IT and Annabell: Creation were both suitably engaging, but just can’t measure up to a veteran like Blunt.

Best Kiss

Instagram Photo

Veronica & Archie – Riverdale
Jane & Rafael – Jane the Virgin
Simon & Bram – Love, Simon
Eleven & Mike – Stranger Things
Sam & Wade – Ready Player One

Usually the most eye-roll worthy category, Best Kiss might actually be important this year as Love, Simon is predicted to win in a landslide, meaning that a same-sex couple kiss will win the award two years in a row, with last year’s winner being Moonlight. Second place belongs to Stranger Things, but the odds place it as a distant runner up with ever other nominee trailing behind. Honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Best Villain

Instagram Photo

Kylo Ren – Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Lenny Busker – Legion
Pennywise – IT
Thanos – Avengers: Infinity War
Killmonger – Black Panther

All sensible logic would put this as a difficult battle between Josh Brolin’s Thanos and Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger for the win, but the Vegas odds surprisingly place Black Panther with a sizable lead. Meanwhile, Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise was more scary than he was evil, Aubrey Plaza’s saucy Lenny doesn’t have the operatic depravity needed to compete with the other Marvel villains and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren is less “Best Villain” and more “Most Adorable Emo.”

Best Hero

Instagram Photo

T’Challa – Black Panther
Rey – Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Daenerys Targaryen – Game of Thrones
Diana – Wonder Woman
Barry Allen – The Flash

While this could easily be another Black Panther win and Daisy Ridley has firmly established herself as the audience view character actor that Hollywood has been waiting for, conventional wisdom and Vegas odds both favor Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman. There aren’t enough CW fans to push Grant Gustin in for a win and we’re not even sure if Emilia Clark’s deal reneging, genocidal war queen even qualifies as a hero.

Best Performance In A Show

Instagram Photo

Darren Criss – The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story
Issa Rae – Insecure
Katherine Langford – 13 Reasons Why
Maisie Williams – Game of Thrones
Millie Bobby Brown – Stranger Things

Vegas odds heavily favor Millie Bobby Brown for this one, which is a real shame because it feels like Darren Criss has needed a win since Glee went off the air. He and Maisie Williams are distant followers to Brown. Issa Rae is seemingly here arbitrarily and it’s a genuine wonder how the poorly received, often derided 13 Reasons Why got its name on any ballot.

Best Performance In A Movie

Instagram Photo

Ansel Elgort – Baby Driver
Chadwick Boseman – Black Panther
Daisy Ridley – Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Saoirse Ronan – Lady Bird
Timothee Chalamet – Call Me By Your Name

This is a bizarre list of nominees because it doesn’t really leave any mystery as to who’s going to win. While Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet both gave terrific performances, neither of them are what made their respective movies great, ditto for Ansel Elgort and Daisy Ridley though their films at least benefited from their specific skills. Chadwick Boseman is the only actor here who actively improved his movie through his performance, and the betting odds agree.

Best Show

13 Reasons Why
Game of Thrones
Grown-ish
Riverdale
Stranger Things

Rumor has it that Stranger Things already won and is just waiting for the broadcast, but there must have been some serious contention with Riverdale and Game of ThronesGrown-ish aired on Freeform which is why you’ve never heard of it and for the love of all that is good and holy in this world why is 13 Reasons Why nominated here?

Best Movie

Instagram Photo

Avengers: Infinity War
Black Panther
Girls Trip
IT
Wonder Woman

Even if the winner hadn’t been announced in advance this one would have been obvious. Avengers was the first time Marvel went full franchise on us, Girls Trip and IT were both good but weren’t doing anything particularly new or different and Wonder Woman was a legitimate game changer but fell off the rails halfway through the third act. This award was Black Panther‘s to lose and, apparently, it didn’t.

Claudia Gadelha Injury: UFC Strawweight Undergoes Knee Surgery

UFC strawweight contender Claudia Gadelha is fresh off of one of the biggest wins of her professional career, but she could be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future. This week, Gadelha, who defeated Carla Esparza on the preliminary card of UFC 225 in Chicago earlier this month, is set to undergo knee surgery.

Gadelha announced her pending surgery on social media.

According to Gadelha, she suffered her knee injury leading up to the fight with Esparza and was receiving treatment at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas.

“I badly injured my knee, everyone at the UFC (Performance) Institute knows that because I was treated by the institute’s physiotherapist,” Gadelha said, via MMA Fighting. “(The physiotherapist) was the only reason I didn’t pull out of the fight. She said ‘I’ll take care of you.’

”I kept visiting the physiotherapist during fight week to be able to fight. I felt the knee in the first round, could barely stand, and still beat Carla in her game, wrestling, so I think she’s just mad she couldn’t outwrestle me.”

There is no word on when Gadelha could return to action.

The Evolution Of Jonah Hill: A COED Investigation

Forget about Keeping Up With The Kardashians, have you ever actually tried keeping up with Jonah Hill?? It’s next-level entertainment, similar to  Keeping up with the Kardashians, but for intellectuals and twice the drama.

First off, if you don’t already know Jonah Hill, he’s been in a lot of things, Superbad, Moneyball, Knocked Up, Wolf of Wall Street, etc., but due to his constant metamorphosis, you likely wouldn’t recognize him if you passed him on the street. For all I know, the picture above could be wildly outdated or scarily up to date; he’s unpredictable like that. Nevertheless, let’s analyze the evolution of Jonah Hill as best we can (feel free to make a drinking game out of his dynamic image or whatever).

Superbad Era Jonah Hill – 2007

(Shutterstock)

In the beginning, Jonah Hill burst into the public eye after starring in the Judd Apatow-produced, Seth Rogen-written movie Superbad in 2007. He was a chubby, curly-haired, lovable underdog. He was pure of heart and round of body. Hill embodied the jolly fat man character in his films and lived the life of one on his own time.

Peak Of The Hill – 2009 – 2010

As his career continued to expand, so did his waistline, at almost proportional rates. This year, he starred in Funny People and The Invention of Lying. Clocking in at 270lbs, Jonah Hill was Hollywood’s certified comedy fat man. And accordingly, his characters stayed relatively the same as well.

In 2010 Jonah resumed his natural form.

The Weight’s Over: ESPY’s 2011

Jonah Hill revealed his first results of dramatic weight loss in 2011 at the ESPY awards. He had just lost 40lbs and flaunted his new figure aside professional athletes. This was the same year he starred in Moneyball – use Hill’s character in that movie for reference (below). In my humble opinion, I think he looks healthier when he’s fatter.

Jonah Hill: The Return Of The Weight 2012

You guessed it, he starts to get fat again, but more subtly this time.

(Shutterstock)

Wolf Of Wall Street: 2013

Here we go again. The role didn’t require it, but Hill used his creative license for the Wolf Of Wall Street and started bulking up again. Presto! We got old Jonah back!

May 2015 – 2016: War Dogs

Nom Nom Nom Nom. Jonah was really back at it here; he put on 40 lbs while filming War Dogs. In his case, the camera adds more than 10 lbs – the beard doesn’t help either. The movie was released in 2016, and he’s even fatter then.

(Shutterstock)

Jonah’s Final Form: 2017

After War Dogs led him down a dangerous but familiar path of weight gain, Hill turned to 21 Jump Street co-star and sex-machine, Channing Tatum for weightloss advice. With Tatum’s help, rigorous calculations, experiments, and consultations on nutrition and dieting, Hill concluded that if he ate less, he’d lose the weight.

He told Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, “I called Channing Tatum and said, ‘Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?'”

Tatum responded with, “Yes, you dumb motherf–er, of course you will. It’s the simplest thing in the entire world.”

Rennaisance period: 2018

Instagram Photo

The latest update in the Jonah Hill saga is still developing. He posted this picture on Instagram recently, and from the looks of things, he’s managed to keep off most of the weight. His current status, however, is eerily reminiscent of 2011 – 2012 Jonah, and if history has taught us anything, he’s headed for another relapse. So long as he doesn’t sign up for War Dogs 2, he should be in the clear for the next several months or so.

His current weight is unknown, so place your bets.

Casey Dyan Keller, a 33-year-old woman from Sanford, Florida, was arrested and charged with child neglect after she went to a liquor store with her three children on Saturday, June 16, but only returned home with two of them.

The child, just three-years-old, remained in the car overnight with the windows up where she was overheated and reportedly drifted in and out of consciousness. Fortunately, the child was found unharmed. She was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

She was booked into Seminole County jail on $15,000 bond.

via Orlando Sentinel:

Keller returned from a liquor store to her apartment on Petunia Terrace near Sanford at about 11:15 p.m. with three children in her car, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. She took the two older children to her apartment but left a 3-year-old girl inside. Shortly after 11 on Sunday morning, Keller called 911 and said someone stole her car with the youngest child inside.

When deputies arrived, they found Keller’s car turned off, with all of the windows rolled up, in her apartment complex parking lot, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Inside the car, deputies found the 3-year-old, who was overheated in her car seat. She was rushed to a local hospital and is in critical but stable condition.

Investigators didn’t find any evidence that the car was tampered with or stolen, according to the Sheriff’s Office. They determined Keller left the child inside overnight.

At the time of this writing, Keller’s two other children are staying with family members.
