Diane Guerrero is an American actress and author who is best known for her roles as inmate Maritza Ramos on the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black and Lina on Jane the Virgin.

Guerrero, who was born in Passaic, New Jersey, grew up in Boston after the rest of her family was deported to Colombia, making her an advocate for immigration reform.

She began acting in 2010 when she was 24-years-old. A year later, she moved to New York City and studied acting at the Susan Batson Studios, where she met her manager Josh Taylor.

In 2012, Guerrero was cast in Orange is the New Black in the role of Maritza Ramos, a character from the Bronx, New York, with Colombian roots.

For her role on Orange Is the New Black, she has won three consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. James Franklin Net Worth 2018: How Much Is James Worth?

James Franklin is an American College Football Coach at Penn State University in the Big Ten Conference. After holding the same position at Vanderbilt University until the end of the 2013 season, Franklin was hired to become Penn State’s Coach in early 2014. Let’s take an in-depth look how Coach Franklin has taken Penn State football to new heights while also winning a Big Ten Championship before Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh.

James Franklin Net Worth: $12 Million

James Franklin’s net worth is around $12 million. Let’s go an adventure to see how Coach Franklin turned around a program recovering from crippling NCAA sanctions that damaged the University for a number of years.

Where It All Began

Instagram Photo
James Franklin is a native of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, a town in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Franklin starred in football at East Stroudsburg University from 1991-1994. Upon graduating from East Stroudsburg University with a degree in Psychology, Franklin later accepted a job to become the Wide Receivers Coach at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 1995.

1996-1999

In 1996, Franklin left Kutztown for East Stroudsburg to coach the Defensive Backs. Later that year, he became the Offensive Coordinator for the Roskilde Knights in the Danish American Football Federation. Franklin then became Wide Receivers Coach at James Madison University in 1997. After a one year stint at JMU, Franklin was hired as the Tight Ends Coach at Washington State University in 1998. James Franklin then made one final stop on his West Coast coaching excursion becoming the Wide Receivers Coach at Idaho State University in 1999.

2000-2010

After departing Idaho State, Franklin became the Wide Receivers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Maryland from 2000-2004. After a four year tenure in the suburbs of our nation’s capital, Franklin became the Wide Receivers Coach of the Green Bay Packers. Once 2005 came to a close, Franklin became the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Kansas State University. Once the 2007 season came to a close, Franklin then returned to the University of Maryland where he was the Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Quarterbacks Coach.

2011-2013: The Vanderbilt Years

Instagram Photo
James Franklin was hired by Vanderbilt University to become its Head Football Coach on December 17th, 2010. Under Franklin’s guidance, the Commodores were able to reach bowl games in three consecutive seasons. James Franklin was able to turn the laughing stock of the always powerful SEC into a team that defeated Auburn, Tennessee, and Ole Miss in 2012, alongside No. 15 Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee in 2013. Franklin finished with an overall record of 24-13, a conference record of 11-13, and a bowl record of 2-1 in his time at Vanderbilt. The Commodores also finished inside the Top 25 rankings at the conclusion of the 2012 and 2013 seasons. James Franklin made Vanderbilt a respectable foe in the SEC for three seasons and there was no doubt that he would eventually end up coaching at a much larger football school.

2014-2015: Bumpy Road Ahead<

Instagram Photo

After losing Head coach Bill O’Brien to the NFL’s Houston Texans, James Franklin was hired to become Penn State’s 16th Head Football Coach on January, 11th 2014. After dealing with two consecutive 7-6 seasons in 2014 and 2015 alongside a massive recovery effort from the NCAA Sanctions tied to the Jerry Sandusky Scandal. Franklin did not beat Ohio State, Michigan State, or Michigan in those first two years. Even though Penn State had one of the best defenses in the country, the offense was straight up abysmal. With embarrassing losses to Maryland and Illinois in 2014 by the scores of 20-19 and 16-14 respectively, it couldn’t get much worse, right? Oh but it did! A 27-10 opening game loss to Temple and a 55-16 annihilation against Michigan State made Penn State fans livid. The Lions lost their last four games close the 2015 season and hoped that 2016 would be better.

2016: They’re Back For Good

Instagram Photo
With two rough years in 2014 and 2015, Penn State was bound to improve. However, that improvement didn’t stand out at first. Fans wanted Franklin fired after two early losses in 2016 to in-state rival Pittsburgh and Michigan by the scores of 42-39 and 49-10 respectively. After being down 13-3 at halftime to Minnesota on October 1st, 100,000 plus people were chanting “Fire Franklin” as loud as they could. The Nittany Lions then defeated Minnesota 29-26 in overtime rattled off nine straight wins. No win was bigger than coming back against No. 2 Ohio State. Down 21-7 early in the 4th Quarter, the Lions made a ferocious comeback. Trailing 21-17 with just over four and a half minutes left in the game, Penn State’s Marcus Allen blocked a Tyler Durbin field goal, Grant Haley then scooped up the loose ball and raced to the end zone with 4:27 to go to give Penn State a dramatic 24-21 win. The 2016 season culminated in a 38-31 win over Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship and a berth in the Rose Bowl against USC.

2017: Oh So Close

Instagram Photo
Franklin entered the 2017 season with high hopes and the Nittany Lions reached No. 2 in the Top 25 polls after Clemson fell to Syracuse 27-24. Penn State had reached their highest ranking since 1999 and the first game as a No. 2 team in 18 years was a 42-13 win over Michigan in front of a Beaver Stadium record 110,823 fans. Two losses by a combined four points to Ohio State and Michigan State destroyed the chance to make the College Football Playoff but the Nittany Lions were able to make a second straight New Year’s Six Bowl appearance with a 35-28 win over the University of Washington in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. Franklin currently holds a record of 36-17 at Penn State heading into the 2018 season and there is no doubt that he is now one of the most coveted recruiters and coaches in all of College Football.

Le’veon Bell Net Worth 2018: How Much Is Juice Worth?

0
0

Le’veon Bell, also known as “Juice”, is a current running back in the NFL who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bell played three years of college ball at Michigan State, where he had a remarkable career, posting career totals of 34 touchdowns, 3,346 rushing yards, and 531 receiving yards. After his incredible junior year, Bell decided to enter the NFL Draft where he was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 48th overall pick.

Le’Veon Bell Net Worth As Of 2018: $3.5 Million

Bell just wrapped up his fifth season in the NFL, with his most recent season arguably being his finest. However, with the surplus of running backs in the NFL, Bell has failed to agree to a long term contract with the Steelers. This has caused him to sign the franchise tag for the past two seasons. He’s scheduled to pocket $14.5 million for the upcoming 2018-2019 season before hitting unrestricted free agency.

Early Life

Bell was born on February 18th, 1992, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where he and his siblings, two older sisters and two younger brothers, were raised just by their mother, Lisa, who struggled mightily financially. When Bell attended high school at Groveport Madison High, he found a father figure in Donis Toler Jr., who was the principal of the school.

High School

In high school, Bell was a multi-sport athlete. He participated in football, basketball, and even track. In football, Bell made the varsity team as a sophomore, where he went on to rush for 789 rushing yards to pair with nine touchdowns. As a junior, these stats progressed to 1,100 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Finally, as a senior, he set the school record for both of these categories with a whopping 1,333 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. After putting up such tremendous stats, Bell was named to the First Team All-Ohio Capital Conference in the Ohio Division.

2009-2012

Playing as a true freshman in his first season at Michigan State, Bell rushed for 605 yards with eight rushing touchdowns, to go along with 97 receiving yards on 11 receptions. These accolades allowed him to receive mentions for All Big-Ten Freshman Honors. In his sophomore season, Bell received an increase in playing time, which led to him rushing for 948 yards and 13 touchdowns, plus his 267 receiving yards on 35 catches. In his junior year, we finally got our first glimpse at “Juice,” and just how dynamic he could be. He posted 1,793 rushing yards, leading the FBS, to go along with 12 rushing touchdowns, 167 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown. He was then voted to the First Team All Big-Ten by the coaches and media poll. After such a spectacular season, Bell declared to go pro, where he was picked up in the second round by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

2013-Present

The only struggle Bell has faced throughout his career with Steelers is his ability to stay on the field. Whether it be injury or suspension, Bell has played in a relatively limited amount of games for the Steelers. He has only completed two full seasons, one being his last, and his other coming in his second season back in 2014. In those two seasons, Bell was arguably the best running back in football. In 2014, as just a second-year player, Bell posted incredible numbers of 1,361 rushing yards and 854 receiving yards. Not to mention his combined 11 rushing and receiving touchdowns. At the time, the thought of eclipsing those numbers or even flirting with them seemed improbable. Then this past year, Bell went for 1,291 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns, to pair with 655 receiving yards and two touchdowns while helping lead the Steelers to the second-best record in the AFC. Moral of the story, Pittsburgh would be wise to pay this man and lock him up long term.

What happened?

The Monday morning lockdown lasted around 30 minutes. Despite reports of a gunman on campus, nothing was found by officials at the school.

According to WTOC, Berkeley High School issued the following statement concerning the incident:

“During a crisis, or when we must take precautionary measures related to a potential crisis, the most reliable information will always come from law enforcement and/or Berkeley County School District.”

“Information will be released in a way that does not hinder the investigation of law enforcement or put the safety of children at risk.”

“While we want all those connected to Berkeley County School District to find peace of mind during and after such situations, it is crucial that we do not let our communication interfere with those working to secure our campuses and protect our children.”

“We ask that you please help us by choosing not to share or repeat unfounded and unconfirmed rumors of matters involving school safety. We are committed to providing timely, accurate information to our parents and guardians first. If you are not receiving our calls or text messages, please contact your child’s school to ensure that we have your correct contact information in our system.  Please also encourage those close to you to follow us, and their child’s school, on Facebook and Twitter so that they always have access to the most accurate information pertaining to student safety.”

Women’s College World Series 2018: Preview & Breakdown

0
0

It has been a very exciting weekend in Oklahoma City, the site of the Women’s College World Series. History was made, stars were born and we’re finally down to two teams. The Florida State Seminoles and University of Washington Huskies will battle it out over the next three days to determine the National Champions for the 2018 softball season.

This is Florida State’s first trip ever to the finals, while it is Washington’s fourth appearance. Each team will be bringing three All Americans with them to the finals. For FSU, they’re pitcher Kylee Hanson, third baseman Jessie Warren and second baseman Sydney Sherrill. For Washington, they are pitchers Taran Alvelo and Gabbie Plain, along with shortstop Sis Bates.

Instagram Photo

This is sure to be a heavyweight matchup, as both teams are coming into this series after knocking off some pretty tough opponents. For Washington, they shut out the defending back-to-back champions Oklahoma twice, and also beat the number one seed Oregon, who swept them in a series earlier in the season during Pac-12 play. Florida State, who lost their opening game to UCLA, went on to beat Oregon and then defeated UCLA twice to secure their spot in the finals.

Pitching

Instagram Photo

Runs are going to be incredibly hard to come by in this series, as both teams are coming into this series ranked in the top 10 in the country for team ERA. Washington had the number one team ERA (1.10) while FSU is currently sitting in eighth (1.53). UW’s All Americans also both finished in the top 10 in individual ERA, as Gabbie Plain finished the year with a 1.02 ERA and Taran Alvelo had a 1.11. FSU’s All American Kylee Hanson isn’t far behind though, with her 1.23 ERA. FSU can also turn to Meghan King, who finished the year with a 1.33.

Offense

Instagram Photo

Washington’s lineup also finished 14thin the country in team batting average. Led by Taylor Van Zee and Sis Bates at the top of the lineup, this team knows how to get runners on base. FSU’s offense is a dangerous one as well, led by Jessie Warren who hit .394 during the regular season. This will definitely be an exciting matchup to watch in all aspects of the game, as there is a combined total of 11 hitters with batting averages over .300. An incredible seven of those 11 hitters come from Washington’s side.

Defense

Instagram Photo

In a game as fast-paced as softball, defense is incredibly important. Both teams finished inside the top 10 in fielding percentage rankings at the end of the season. Washington’s fielding percentage of .981 was good for fourth, while FSU came in seventh with a .978 fielding percentage. Washington’s defense has been one of the talks of the tournament, and that fierce defense is led by the Pac-12’s defensive player of the year, Sis Bates. She made only three errors all season long and combined with Taylor Van Zee at third base, the left side of Washington’s infield is almost impenetrable. Trysten Melhart has also shown off for the Huskies in right field, as she’s made two incredible diving catches against Oklahoma, that each time, saved the ballgame.

Take some time out of your schedule and watch this matchup, as this will definitely be a WCWS for the ages. Washington and Florida State are both incredibly sound all around teams, and runs will be difficult to come by. Gabbie Plain is the biggest player to watch in this matchup, as the freshman from Australia has definitely made a name for herself on the biggest stage in the game.

WWE Raw Live Stream: How To Watch Monday Night Raw Online – 06/04/18

0

Monday Night Raw finds it’s way to the Lone Star State for tonight’s edition of the flagship show. The Money In The Bank Ladder matches are set for June 17 but there are scores to settle in the meantime. Former universal champions will be facing off tonight and we will find out if Ronda Rousey’s friend will be able to take care of Nia Jax before they meet at MITB. Also, who will be the number one contenders for the Raw Tag Teams Championships at MITB? All of this will be decided at Raw tonight!

Monday Night Raw will be in the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas tonight.

On the May 28th rendition of Raw saw Bobby Roode take on Kevin Owens. When Braun Stroman decided to come out and lay waste to KO, Bobby Roode was right there to gleefully cheer Stroman on. The jubilation wouldn’t last long though, with The Monster Among Men turning on Roode a laying him out. Now The Glorious One will have the chance to get payback this week. The two MITB competitors will be looking to get a leg up before the June 17 PPV.

Last week Kevin Owens took it upon himself to interfere in Finn Balor’s match with Braun Stroman, causing a DQ. Now Balor will get a shot at revenge on tonight’s Raw. It will be a match-up of the first ever Universal Champion and the man who won his vacated belt after his injury. Which former champ will come out on top? And will this grudge match carry over to the MITB Ladder match in which both men will be competing?

It seems that Nia Jax has completely forgotten about her anti-bully attitude that she was so vocal about at Backlash, making short work of a jobber last week while taunting Ronda Rousey. Jax has quickly shed her want to support the women around her, opting to crush a girl for fun just to help emphasize her taunting of Rousey. But before she defends her title against Rousey at MITB she will have to go through Rousey’s friend and WWE veteran Natalya. Natalya is one of the most gifted technical wrestlers on the Women’s roster and has more experience than almost anyone. She could be a tall order for The Irresistible Force, will Jax be ready for the challenge?

Last week the B-Team, made up of former Miztourage members Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, tried to throw a Memorial Day BBQ for the other Tag Teams in the division on Raw. The celebration broke into a food fight fueled brawl. Afterwards, the B-Team demanded a Title match against current holders The Deleter of Worlds from Raw GM Kurt Angle. They will get their chance tonight in the Tag Team Battle Royal to decide the number one contenders to the Tag Team Titles. The B-Team has been performing above and beyond everyone’s expectations, but will they be able to secure their spot at MITB?

For the Seminoles, this will be their tenth appearance in the WCWS and second appearance in three years. They haven’t won a National Championship since going back to back in 1981 and 1982. How the Seminoles got to the World Series was as dramatic as you could ask for. Capitals vs. Golden Knights Game 4 Live Stream: How to Watch Stanley Cup Online

0
0

At long last, the NHL Stanley Cup Finals are finally upon us. This series is between the Washington Capitals and the Vegas Golden Knights. After losing the first game of the series, the Capitals responded by winning the next two games to take a 2-1 lead in the series. This is a must-win game for the Golden Knights who cannot afford to fall behind three games to one in the series if the franchise plans on winning the Stanley Cup in its first official season. Expect the Golden Knights to lay it all on the line as a result.

Washington’s postseason success is due to its elite scoring depth which consists of Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom and Evgeny Kuznetsov. During the regular season, Ovechkin led the team in points with 87 and had an astonishing 49 goals in 82 games. During the playoffs, Ovechkin has continued to score regularly and has 14 goals in just 22 playoff games. Backstrom missed part of the playoffs due to injuries but has managed to average over one point per game in 18 playoff games. Kuznetsov has been phenomenal this postseason and leads the team in points with 27. If the Capitals plan on winning this game, all three of them will need to be at their best.

In game three, Ovechkin and Kuznetsov each had a goal in the second period which gave the Capitals a commanding two goal lead approximately halfway through the contest. Kuznetsov was questionable to play due to some health issues but looked fantastic once he hit the ice. Vegas currently has no answers for this duo as both were able to create multiple chances throughout the entirety of game three. Expect both of them to continue where they left off and play extremely well in game four.

Vegas’ success has been due to its star goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Since it is Vegas’ first official season in the NHL, the organization partook in an expansion draft during the offseason. In the draft, Vegas decided to take goalie Marc-Andre Fleury from the Pittsburgh Penguins as the team hoped that he would carry it to a potential playoff berth. Since joining Vegas, Fleury has been godly. This season, Fleury went 29-13-4 with a 2.24 goals against average. However, he has been even better in the playoffs. In 18 starts, Fleury is 13-5 with a 1.95 goals against average. Fleury also has had four shutouts already this postseason and will look to play a lot better on Monday night.

Fleury has struggled so far this series as he has given up at least three goals in each of the team’s three Stanley Cup games this season. Fleury’s goals against average through those three games is 3.42 which is unacceptable for a goalie of his caliber. Fleury also possesses a save percentage of 87.5% in this series which is absolutely abysmal. However, due to his talent, one can expect Fleury to play significantly better moving forward in this series as the three-time Stanley Cup champion will be hungry for his fourth. Expect Fleury to play extremely well if the Golden Knights plan on tying the series up at two games apiece.

As for my prediction, I have to side with the Knights. Although Washington has been the better team throughout this series, the Golden Knights have responded to adversity extremely well this postseason and I think that the team will come out more focused tonight. I expect Fleury to play really well as Vegas ties the series up in a low scoring contest.

Considered by many to be one of the best hockey players in the world, Alex Ovechkin has made a name for himself as a goal-scoring threat everytime he steps on the ice. A three-time MVP, Ovechkin is looking to capture his first Stanley Cup against the Vegas Golden Knights. This is Ovechkin’s first Stanley Cup final in his 14 year NHL career. At the age of 32, Ovechkin continues to be a top player in the league and is a popular player worldwide, but how much is this future Hall of Famer actually worth?

Alex Ovechkin’s Net Worth as of 2018: $60 Million

How has Ovechkin’s NHL career impacted his overall worth? Let’s look at some of the numbers.

2004-2008

After playing in his home country of Russia for four years, Ovechkin was selected by the Capitals with the first overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Since the 2004-05 season was locked out, Ovechkin remained in Russia for another season. It was not until 2005 when he joined the Capitals. In his rookie season, Ovechkin won the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year while recording 52 goals and 54 assists to lead all rookies with 106 points. Those 106 points were good enough to finish as the league’s third highest scorer that season.

In the 2006-07 season, Ovechkin’s numbers dipped a little bit as he only scored 46 goals and had only 92 points. However, he did get to compete in his first All-Star game that season. During his third and final season on his rookie contract, the Capitals had decided they had found their face of the franchise, signing Ovechkin to a 13-year contract extension worth $124 million. At the time, this was the richest contract in NHL history. In that season he led the league with 65 goals and 112 points. Ovechkin claimed his first Art Ross Trophy, which is given to the player who leads the league in points. He was also awarded the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy, which is given to the player who leads the league in goals. He led the Capitals to the playoffs that season bowing out to the Philadelphia Flyers in seven games during the first round.

After getting off his rookie contract Ovechkin reportedly earned $9 million in 2008.

2009-2014

After receiving his contract extension, Ovechkin continued to prove he was worth the money by leading the league in scoring goals once again by finishing with 56 goals and he finished second in the league in points with 110. He led his team on another playoff run where he was able to defeat the New York Rangers in the opening round. In the second round, Ovechkin met his match in Sidney Crosby and the Penguins losing in a tough seven-game series. Again he went on to win the Hart trophy proving how talented of a player he is.

In the 2009-10 season, Ovechkin started the year off suffering an upper-body injury that caused him to miss some time. However, he was still able to have a very productive year scoring 50 goals and having 109 points. He was awarded the Ted Lindsay Award, which is given to the player voted on by members of the NHL Players Association who is believed to have been the most outstanding player during the regular season. Winning the award for the third year in a row, Ovechkin became only the second player in NHL history to win the award in three consecutive years.

During the 2011 and 2012 seasons, Ovechkin’s numbers dipped and the team was not making any deep playoff runs. In 2013, Ovechkin kept his game sharp by going back home and playing in the KHL for his old team the Dynamo Moscow during the NHL lockout. He appeared in 31 games before returning to America to compete in the lockout-shortened season in the NHL. Ovechkin returned to the top of the league in goal-scoring by scoring 32 goals and leading the league in points with 56. However, his team was tripped up in the first round of the playoffs that year losing to the Rangers. During the 2014 season, Ovechkin led the league in goal-scoring yet again with 51 goals, however, the Capitals missed the playoffs for the first time since Ovechkin’s second season in the league.

Ovechkin earned $9.5 million in 2014.

2015-2018

Instagram Photo

In the 2015 season, Ovechkin was able to score 53 goals and had 81 points. However, his team was eliminated once again in the second round of the playoffs. During the 2016 season, for the first time in his career, Ovechkin did not lead the Capitals in points, although he still did lead them with 50 goals. Once again though the Capitals season ended with another disappointing second-round loss in the playoffs.

During the 2017 season, Ovechkin became the 37th player in NHL history to record 1,000 points with only one team. However, he did have a bit of a down year as he only scored 33 goals and had 69 points. He bounced back during the most recent season by breaking many NHL and Capitals record during the 2018 season too. He became the first player to score back-to-back hat tricks to start a season. He became the team’s leader for all-time leader in hat tricks with his 20th of his career. He became the leader in most overtime regular season goals scored passing Jaromir Jagr when he scored his 20th. He scored his 600th career goal, becoming the 20th player to ever eclipse that number. He was also awarded the Rocket Richard trophy for the seventh time in his career after leading the league with 49 goals. He tied Bobby Hull for being the NHL player to win that award the most.

Ovechkin is in the midst of his best postseason run as he and his team are fighting for the franchise’s first Stanley Cup. Ovechkin has recorded 12 goals and 22 points over 19 games. He scored his first career Stanley Cup Final goal in Game 2.

Ovechkin made about $10 million in 2018.

Present

Whether you love him or hate him, Ovechkin is one of the best talents the NHL has ever seen in its history. He is one of the most gifted athletes in the world with his speed and quickness he can make moves around defenders like no other. His powerful but accurate shot also makes it tough for goalies to stop him from scoring. Even if the Capitals do fail to win the Stanley Cup this season, Ovechkin will go down as one of the very best to ever play the game of hockey.

Guide To Decorating Your Freshman Dorm For Beginners

Shutterstock

Congratulations! If you’re reading this, you’ve recently gained admittance into some university and are on your way to making the next 4 years the most memorable ones of your life. Of course, your College experience wouldn’t be complete without a crappy freshman dorm in desperate need of aesthetic repair.

Speaking from experience, I’m guessing you’re probably equipped with a 400 square foot hollow cinderblock living space with one window looking out on a beautiful brick wall, a suspicious mattress, and a spring bed frame that you have already stubbed your toe on. Not a lot to work with? Think again! Your situation is about to get a whole lot better with this brief guide on how to give your new home a complete makeover. I can’t help with the thin wall situation, sadly. Maybe wear earplugs?

After you introduce yourself to your roommate and diagnose his/her personality in the first 15 seconds, unpack your bags and literally draw a line in the sand between you and your living partner. This will serve as the undisputed No Man’s Land if/when you and your roomie argue over space. Masking tape or Sharpie marker will do fine.

Next, hang up any Pulp Fiction posters you have as soon as possible. It doesn’t matter if you’ve seen the movie or not. If you don’t have a Pulp Fiction poster on hand, Godfather posters can act as a substitute until you find a Pulp Fiction poster. Again, it doesn’t matter if you’ve seen the movie.

Make sure your window sill is cleaned off so you can start creating a “shrine” or “trophy case” for all your empty bottles of alcohol. After all, everyone knows that the guy with the most empty bottles of booze is the coolest guy on campus, that’s just science. This will be really funny for like two months until you realize everyone else did the same thing with the same name. There is no 5¢ cash back on Jack Daniels handles, but the memories are priceless.

Speaking of alcohol and as a side note, your school’s graduation requirements probably include some ordinance for you to make at least one toast saying, “To the nights we won’t remember, and the years we’ll never forget,” so you might as well get that out of the way sooner rather than later (It’s a really bad look to say that after sophomore year).

If your walls aren’t covered with Pulp Fiction or Godfather posters, go to your school store and purchase a college pennant flag. Hang it askew near your bed. School Spirit!

If you’re a girl, pay close attention to this section. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT. Use the 200 or so dollars you earned from working as a waitress over the summer to buy some sort of tapestry and Christmas style lights. Both of these things will fall down literally once a day but that’s just part of the fun, ya’ gotta’ get used to that. After you hang those things up in any orientation you wish, get some wooden clothes pins and clip polaroids of new and old friends to the Christmas lights.

Shutterstock

If you’re a guy, pay close attention to this section. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT. Develop some borderline unhealthy devotion to any sports team of your choice if you don’t have one already. Use the 200 or so dollars you earned from painting houses over the summer to buy a jersey. Hang the jersey from that sports team up on your wall. Only wear the jersey over a hoodie or long sleeve shirt when going to parties.

Lastly, but probably most importantly, your roommate should already have an acoustic guitar, but if they don’t, drop everything you’re doing and go get one. This series will teach you everything you need to know about the guitar. Have fun in college!

Murray State Considering Suspending Greek Life Heading Into The Fall Semester

via Murray State Instagram

Murray State suspended all Greek Life activities during the 2018 spring semester and announced that the suspension could last into the 2018 fall semester.

According to a statement from Robert Davies, the President of Murray State, and Don Robertson, the Vice President for Student Affairs Don Robertson, the university suspended all Greek Life social activities on Wednesday, May 9, and may extend the suspension into the upcoming fall semester.

The statement from the university says that the decision to suspended fraternity and sorority activity was based on national trends and own review of reports involving Greek activities occurring with the implementation and enforcement of Greek social event policy.” In addition, the letter says the department must assess Murray State’s policies and procedures.

In addition, the letter says that a university committee made up off representatives from the school’s Greek organizations will begin investigating those policies during the summer, continuing until it can make recommendations to the Office of Student Affairs.

Earlier in 2018, Murray State Police investigated the death of a person at an off-campus fraternity house, although the investigation was classified as “non-criminal.”

The full statement from Murray State University can be read below:

This is the latest major fraternity or sorority suspension or closure in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State have all suspended fraternities in the wake of hazing and alcohol deaths.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who were shut down for hazing and the Lamda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

Dwight Clark Cause Of Death: How Did 49ers Legend Die?

Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Dwight Clark passed away at the age of 61. Clark’s passing comes after his battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

What happened?

Clark’s wife Kelly confirmed the news of her husband’s passing on Monday from his official Twitter account:

“I’m heartbroken to tell you that today I lost my best friend and husband. He passed peacefully surrounded by many of the people he loved most. I am thankful for all of Dwight’s friends, teammates and 49ers fans who have sent their love during his battle with ALS. Kelly Clark.”

In addition to his wife, Clark is also believed to be survived by their three children.

According to Fox 5, Clark played for the San Francisco 49ers from 1979 to 1987; during this time, he was named to two Pro Bowls. He ultimately would retire from the NFL in 1987. As a tribute, Clark’s number 87 jersey was retired by the 49ers the following year.

Clark previously announced his ALS diagnosis on March 19, 2017. According to Clark’s official website, he issued the following statement concerning his condition:

“In September of 2015, I started feeling weakness in my left hand. I was mildly paying attention to it because since my playing days, I’ve constantly had pain in my neck. I was thinking it was related to some kind of nerve damage because it would just come and go.”

“After months of tests and treatment, I got some bad news. I was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. I have ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Those words are still very hard for me to say.”

“While I’m still trying to wrap my head around the challenge I will face with this disease over the coming years, the only thing I know is that I’m going to fight like hell and live every day to the fullest.”

What is Dwight Clark’s official cause of death?

At this time, Clark’s official cause of death does not appear to be released to the public.

The Dunder Mifflin family has sadly lost one of their members. Hugh Dane, who played the often dissatisfied security guard Hank on The Office, passed away at the age of 75.

A Look Back At Hugh Dane’s Career

Dane’s acting career spans nearly 30 years. In addition to his role on The Office, he was also in memorable films and series like Bridesmaids and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The Inner City Cultural Center posted a nice tribute to the late actor on their Facebook page.

Dane originally broke into acting in the late 1980s with a role in the video game, It Came From the Desert. Shortly after, he played the role of Father in the tv series, Hunter, which kicked off his long career in television. While Dunder Mifflin’s Hank was Dane’s most longstanding role, he also played two characters in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and recurred as Fred in the Emmy-nominated ’90s series Roc.

Some of his other television credits include stints on Friends, Everybody Hates Chris, Boy Meets World, West Wing, Monk, and most recently, The Mayor. In the film realm, Dane worked on successful comedies like Little Fockers and Bridesmaids.

Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson, who worked with Dane on The Office, paid tribute to their castmate on Twitter.

Wilson’s tweet notes that donations can be made in Dane’s name to the Inner City Cultural Center.

Hugh Dane’s Cause Of Death

Hugh Dane passed away on May 16, 2018, while news of his death was not made public until June 4th. He was 75. His cause of death does not appear to have been released yet.

Liza Koshy: Hottest Photos Of The Instagram Star

Liza Koshy is an actor and comedian after using social media to rise to success. A star as Violet Adams in the Hulu series Freakish, Koshy first rose to fame on Vine and YouTube with more than 14 million subscribers and 2 billion views. She has won two Streamy Awards, a Teen Choice Award, and a Kids’ Choice Award.

Koshy is also set to star in her own comedy series Liza on Demand and the Nickelodeon game show Double Dare which premiere later this year, while also co-hosting Total Request Live (TRL).

Recently, Koshy, who was born in Houston, Texas, broke up with fellow YouTube star David Dobrik. The two publicly announced their separation in an emotional YouTube video.

“It wasn’t healthy for us to continue to be together – for now,” David said in the video. “You never know what could happen, but just not now. Liza broke up with me because she felt like we’ve been distant because we’ve been so busy. As much as I hate to admit it, I was feeling it on my side too but I just don’t have the balls to pull the trigger on that.”

The 22-year-old added, “We felt like we were living separate lives but neither of us was coming to terms with it. So I decided we should break up. We didn’t want to tell anybody because we were just so angry at the fact we distanced in the first place. We did nothing to each other to cause a break up.

“We have a lot of growth and development and learning and loving to do.”

She has a reported net worth of approximately $1.5 million.

UFC Early Weigh-Ins Could Be Eliminated

The UFC early weigh-ins could soon be eliminated. Since the decision to allow fighters to weigh-in in the early hours of the morning, we have seen countless athletes miss weight and be ruled medically unfit to compete. As a result, UFC president Dana White says that the early weigh-ins could be removed altogether.

White addressed the issue on the latest edition of his UFC Unfiltered podcast.

“I do think it’s that and guess what? “We’re getting rid of it,” White said on the latest episode of his podcast. “We’re looking at taking back the weigh-ins to the way they used to be so that when the guys weigh-in there at the fight, that will be it. That will be the real weigh-in.

“I believe that any time you change something, everybody looks to take advantage of any situation. I think that when we started doing morning weigh-ins it was very good. Everybody was making weight and everything was going great, but then everybody started cutting it closer, closer and closer thinking that they can put on more weight because they have more time to recover. “The reality is it f***ed everything up. We’re looking to going back to 4pm weigh-ins. Those will be the real weigh-ins.”

The hope is that fighters will be healthier in their weight cuts and that fewer fights will fall apart in the hours before they are scheduled.

Do you think the early weigh-in removal is a good idea? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts. And if you want to listen to the full podcast, you can do so by clicking here.

Miss America Swimsuit Competition Has Been Removed

The Miss America competition will no longer judge women based on their physical appearance. On Tuesday morning, it was announced on Good Morning America that Miss America is doing away with its swimsuit competition. The decision was made to be “more inclusive and empowering for all women.”

“We are no longer a pageant,” Gretchen Carlson, the chair of the Board of Trustees for the Miss America Organization, said. “We are a competition. We will no longer judge our candidates on their outward physical appearance. That’s huge.”

From ABC News:

In place of the swimsuit portion of the competition, the women will now take part in a live interactive session with the judges, according to the organization. The contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia will be asked to demonstrate their passion, intelligence and overall understanding of the job of Miss America during this part of the competition.

Carlson, who was crowned Miss America in 1989, has been active in the #MeToo movement. She previously settled a lawsuit against Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes.

Miss America 2018 was Cara Mund of North Dakota. The 2019 competition will be held on Sept. 9, 2018, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
