Nicki Minaj is making a comeback after quite a long layoff with not just one, but two whole new songs dropping on Thursday, one of which is called “Chun-Li,” and we have everything you need to listen to the song right here and now!

What can we expect from ‘Chun-Li?’

“Barbie Tingz” will be released alongside another song, “Barbie Tingz.” Now, Minaj hasn’t had an album released since 2014’s The Pinkprint but she’s appeared on other songs in the interval, such as collaborations with Lil Uzi Vert (“The Way Life Goes”) or Migos’ Quavo on “She for Keeps” from Quality Control’s “Control the Streets Vol. 1” compilation.

In addition, Minaj released two promotional images released for the songs on Twitter; for the “Chun-Li” artwork, Minaj is seen wearing her hair in buns, with a bikini and a fur jacket. It’s believed that the song is named in favor of the character from the popular Street Fighter games, likely as a reflection of female empowerment, with Minaj possibly dressed like her own version of the same character in the artwork.

“Chun-Li” will come out 10 A.M PST and 1 P.M. EST. Here’s what you need to do to listen to the song. Also, don’t forget we have details on how to listen to “Barbie Tingz,” too. You can also vote for your favorite of the two songs! More information is available at the bottom of the page!

Thanos Motivations Explained: Infinity War Villain’s Past Revealed

Thanos Motivations

Ever since his first appearance at the end of  2012’s Avengers, Thanos has been a subject of much speculation. What were his goals? What would his role be in future MCU films? Is he after the Infinity Gauntlet for the same reason in the comics or have his goals been altered to better fit the universe of the movie?

Six years later and two weeks before Avengers: Infinity War comes out we finally have some answers courtesy of the Russo Bro’s, the film’s directors. Their interview with Telegraph India revealed some details about the Mad Titan’s tragic pass and the shockingly, if arguably, altruistic plan to save the future that pits him against Earth’s mightiest heroes.

What we do for Love

In the comics Thanos only has one true love: Death. This is both figurative and quite literal; the Titan is so enamored with killing and so proficient at causing mass carnage in his wake that he attracted the attention of an ancient being, the anthropomorphized concept ‘Lady Death’. For Thanos, this is love at first sight and results in him stepping up his kill count in the hopes of winning his Lady’s heart.

His desire for Death’s love, along with a more typical lust for power, is what drives him to seek out and eventually obtain the Infinity Gauntlet and use it to eliminate half the universe’s population. Death remains mostly indifferent to his actions (incidentally, she is much more attracted to the unkillable mercenary Deadpool and even Wolverine at times), which results in more and more demonstrations of Thanos’s power against the many heroes and beings who seek to stop him until the unhinged Titan loses the Gauntlet and very nearly, his mind.

Fight for the Future

Most fans suspected that Thanos’s being driven by literal love for Death is both too dark and too ‘comic book’ to have a place in the Avengers movie. Some believed that Thor: Ragnarok’s Hela (Cate Blanchett), the Norse Goddess of Death could be the object of Thanos’s affections instead. But according to the Russo’s the Titan is driven not by love but by his dark past and fears for the future:

“He’s from a planet called Titan. Many years prior to the film his planet was experiencing a cataclysmic shift. They were running out of resources, and they were overpopulated. Thanos made a recommendation that they exterminate half the population randomly in order to save the rest of the population. Of course, the Titans rejected his notion, branded him a mad man, exiled him, and the planet ended up dying. So he has taken it upon himself to go planet-by-planet throughout the universe and wipe out half of the population of each planet as a way to correct the planet and bring it back into balance.”

Thanos now seeks out the Gauntlet to be more efficient and complete the depopulation plan in seconds rather than years.

This misguided plan and backstory, which is reminiscent of both Superman and Star Trek’s Captain Kirk’s backstories, shows an unexpectedly ‘noble’ side of the Titan. His genocidal plans stem not from selfish pleasure and desire for love but from a desire to save the universe from what he believes is inevitable overpopulation and extinction.

By changing both Thanos’s backstory and motivations the Russo’s have followed the tradition of the MCU in creating a complex and morally grey villain. While his goal for depopulation is despicable to us and to the Avengers, in the mind Thanos and probably many of his followers it is he who is the hero, the only one who can save the future.

Fans can see who will prevail when Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theaters on April 27th.

Russell Westbrook Makes History, Again: A Closer Look At His Second Triple-Double Season

If you seriously believed on the morning of April 1 that Russell Westbrook wouldn’t grab 76 rebounds over the final five games of the 2017-18 season, congratulations: you played yourself. And Russell is happy to have helped embarrass you. If instead of embarrassed you feel entitled, reassuring yourself with something like “triple-doubles are meaningless” or “he’s stat-padding”, Russ doesn’t give a f**k. Why not? He’s officially averaged a triple-double for the second consecutive season.

In 2017, Russell Westbrook joined the most exclusive of NBA clubs when he managed against all odds to average a triple-double–31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 10.4 assists, to be precise–over 81 regular season games. Only Oscar Robertson had achieved such a feat, 55 years prior. In April of that year, Westbrook’s swan song was breaking Robertson’s record for triple-doubles in a single season, 41, with 42 of his own. Endorsed by the Big O himself, a new triple-double royal was born. Fast forward: in March 2018, Westbrook became the fourth player in league history to accumulate 100 career triple-doubles, joining the ranks of Robertson (181), Magic Johnson (138), and Jason Kidd (107). As of April 12, 2018, Westbrook sits at 105. Kidd can kiss his placement on that list goodbye. Magic isn’t safe either. Whether Russ can break yet another unattainable record set by the Big O though, we’ll have to wait and see. If so, the King’s crown is his. For now, we must marvel at the greatness of the Prince.

When partner-in-crime of eight years Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City in free agency in July 2016, Westbrook understood that if he didn’t want the Thunder to fall out of championship contention and into the hell of lottery ping-pong balls, he’d have to change something about his game. No one quite envisioned him dragging a bunch of misfits (literally–see Victor Oladipo today) into the playoffs, and certainly not a soul predicted he’d do it by simultaneously leading the league in scoring, handing out better than 10 assists a night, and averaging more rebounds than most 7-footers. Russ may have desperately needed help, but he’d never have admitted it.

Instagram Photo

It’s not like Russ was a stranger to triple-doubles: he’d racked up 37 in his first eight seasons, including 18 in his final season with Durant. But becoming the center of OKC’s offense unleashed him. He set an NBA record for usage rate, carrying the scoring burden and becoming a crunch time maestro. At the same time, Russ put trust in his teammates; while he was on the floor, 57.2% of his teammates’ made field goals were directly assisted by him, while the other 42.8% were usually his own. Soliciting rebounds in order to facilitate fast-break offense was just another part of his game–he’ll tell you time and again that he isn’t “stat-padding”. This is just how he plays.

Russell took MVP honors in 2017 despite leading his team to fewer than 50 wins, frustrating traditionalists who didn’t think Westbrook’s statistical anomalies merited the league’s greatest individual honor. Questioning Russell’s value to the Oklahoma City Thunder was a virtually indefensible task–without him, they were a glorified G-League team. But Russell’s value to the NBA itself was ballooning at a time when many had all but relinquished the 2017 Larry O’Brien Trophy to the Golden State Warriors the previous July.

Instagram Photo

Westbrook’s narrative was on his side, and so was Kevin Durant’s: Durant, betraying Westbrook, also managed to ruin the NBA by joining up with Golden State; Westbrook, scorned ex, decided not just to extract revenge, but to turn the entire league on its head. A perfect foil: Russ was crowned MVP and NBA sweetheart, but was gentlemen-swept out of the first round of the playoffs; KD–branded a snake, a cupcake, a traitor–bounced back from what looked like a derailing knee injury that some grotesquely found karma in, led the Warriors to a 16-1 title run, and was elected Finals MVP. In their first season apart, Westbrook and Durant revamped their games, their identities, and their futures without the other. Each had the best season of his career, affirming Durant’s choice to leave and Westbrook’s choice to not take it lightly.

Russ plays hard. He plays friendless, save for Spalding. He doesn’t give into exhaustion. He doesn’t show pain. He’d play the full 48 minutes if he was allowed to. But let’s be realistic: it isn’t sustainable. If Westbrook is ever going to make a run at an NBA title, he can’t do it surrounded by flaky shooters and with Steven Adams as his co-headliner. So in the 2017 offseason, Thunder GM Sam Presti rewarded Westbrook for his plight by acquiring Carmelo Anthony and Paul George. Help was on its way.

Surrounded once again by All-Stars, Westbrook didn’t necessarily need to repeat 2016-17. But as the OK3 continually underperformed, Russ gradually kicked back into gear, emulating the style of his MVP year without completely overshadowing George and Anthony. 26 triple-doubles down the stretch of the season isn’t as marvelous a figure as 42, but on its own, it is a glowing bastion of Westbrook’s evolution.

Instagram Photo

On April 9, in the Thunder’s penultimate regular season game in Miami, the prospect of Russell finishing a second consecutive season averaging a triple-double looked bleak. While he was leading the NBA in assists and had all but solidified an average of 10+ on the season, the rebounding category remained a question mark. Two nights earlier in Houston, Westbrook had just seven boards. For a point guard like Damian Lillard or Jrue Holiday or literally anyone else, seven rebounds in a game would be a huge achievement. But for Westbrook? Essentially a disappointment. He’d need 34 total over the last two games of the season–games he should probably not even play in, to be honest, in case of an untimely freak injury–in order to secure a season-long average of 10 rebounds. But with about 17 seconds left in the first half in Miami, Westbrook was pulling down his ninth rebound of the game. He was doing it.

Westbrook would finish the Miami game with 18 rebounds. Picture this: the other, taller four members of OKC’s starting lineup finished with a combined total of 15. Looking ahead to game #82, there should have been no question that Russ would go for at least 16 and little doubt that his teammates would help him out. Anything less would have gone entirely against Westbrook’s motto: Why not? And we know Russ is a man of his word.

On April 11, Russell Westbrook pulled no punches when questioned about the validity of his statistics. Not only does Russell notoriously not give a crap about stats–“I just play“–he finds it equal parts hilarious, annoying, and pointless to accuse him of “stat-padding”. Speaking to the media before OKC’s regular-season finale, Westbrook made it clear: “I’m tired of hearing the same old ‘rebound this, stealing rebounds’, all this s**t. I take pride in what I do … I get the ball faster than somebody else gets to it. That’s just what it is. If you don’t want it, I’m gonna get it. Simple as that.” While Russ wouldn’t go as far as to call out those whom his friend Kevin Durant might call “blog boys“, he isn’t here to bend and break to the criticisms of talking heads and NBA Twitter. It’s hard to argue with him when he says, “if people could get 20 rebounds every night, they would. If people could f**king get 15 rebounds, they would”, echoing Pat Riley’s sentiment of “no rebounds, no rings”. By noon, Russ had set the tone for the night ahead.

That night, Chesapeake Energy Arena was almost as ready as Russell himself. Westbrook addressed his home crowd prior to tipoff, thanking them for a season of patient support; he then diverted attention to friend, mentor, and the franchise’s longest-tenured player, Nick Collison, who is expected to retire after a decade and a half of service to the NBA. This would be Russ’s most selfless act all night.

At halftime, Russ had one point and 11 rebounds, having spent the first half hurdling Steven Adams and the entire Grizzlies roster for loose balls. He was a rebound vacuum early in the third quarter, and sure enough, it took just 22 minutes of playing time for Westbrook to swallow the coveted 16th. Assisted by block-outs from henchmen George and Anthony. Russ achieved the previously impossible. Refs stopped play and he was treated to a standing ovation while OKC led Memphis by 21. But Russ wasn’t done, of course: he took down 20 total rebounds, supplanting a previous career-high of 19. He also dished out 19 assists: six went to Paul George, who ended up with a 40-point game that has gone virtually unnoticed despite the relieving importance of his getting over a shooting slump at precisely the right time. Russ came up just shy on what would have been a legendary 20-20 game. He scored six points in the blowout win.

Russell Westbrook is a phenomenon. His playing style is far from beautiful, but it is something to behold. He’s taken the concept of something as momentous and salaciously desired as a triple-double and normalized it. Westbrook is effortlessly above-average in at least three statistical basketball categories in every single game that he plays, and most players would kill for this–some have even killed their own reputations for just a shot at it. The Triple-Double Prince is changing the game, screaming to anyone who listens that it’s pointless to box yourself in so long as you can box someone out for that extra rebound, outlet pass, and assisted fast-break dunk. Westbrook maintains in every interview that he is blessed, and because of him, so are we. Thank you, Russ.

WWE Superstar Shake-Up 2018 Predictions: Top 10 Groundbreaking Potential Roster Changes

$

This year’s WWE Superstar Shake-Up could drastically transform the rosters of both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. Next Monday and Tuesday, the WWE will look to shake things up once again, altering the landscape of both brands. But if they want to pass this two-day event off as a true roster-wide shake-up than they’ll have to make some seriously groundbreaking moves, meaning big names must switch brands. In other words, marquee talent will need to be traded for the sake of the Shake-Up.

Who will be heading to Raw or SmackDown? And how will that affect the landscape of their new homes? Let’s take a look into the WWE crystal ball and witness the top 10 most ground breaking potential roster changes for the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-Up.

10. Samoa Joe Jumps From Raw To SmackDown

Instagram Photo

“The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe has had legendary encounters with “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles in the past, but not while in the WWE. The two will definitely deliver magic once again when they meet in a WWE ring. Joe may even become the new WWE Champion in the process. Now, that would definitely be groundbreaking.

9. Becky Lynch Jumps From SmackDown To Raw

Instagram Photo

Becky Lynch has been trending water for a while now. She hasn’t made much progress since dropping the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship back in late 2016. Maybe a fresh start in a new environment will help rejuvenate the career of “The Irish Lass Kicker.” But for this move to be truly groundbreaking, Lynch will also need to change up her character. If she turns into a steampunk villain, she’d definitely peak the crowd’s interest once again.

8. Finn Balor Jumps From Raw To SmackDown

Instagram Photo

Speaking of Irish-born talent in need of a career boost, Finn Balor desperately needs to change up his game. Much like Lynch, Balor has been trending water on Raw. He has the presence of a main eventer, yet couldn’t even win Raw‘s second title at WrestleMania. If Balor gets drafted to SmackDown, his whole career may take a massive upswing since SmackDown is considered the land of opportunity and doesn’t have a very deep roster (to say the least). Balor may suddenly find himself in the main event scene overnight once drafted to the blue brand. He’d tear the house down with AJ Styles if given the opportunity to challenge “The Phenomenal One” for the WWE Championship. “The Demon King” Balor has largely fallen out of the spotlight since relinquishing the Universal Championship in August 2016. This move may trigger a serious comeback for Balor.

7. Rusev and Aiden English Jump From SmackDown To Raw

Instagram Photo

Rusev Day moving to Monday nights would be a huge move for “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev and “The Drama King” Aiden English. Both wrestlers are getting overwhelmingly positive reactions from the fans. Perhaps, WWE’s flagship show is best suited for this ever-popular duo that seems destined for success. If Rusev’s momentum continues to grow, we may see “The Bulgarian Brute” going up against “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar at one point or another, possibly with the WWE Universal Championship on the line.

6. Jeff Hardy Jumps From Raw To SmackDown

Instagram Photo

Jeff Hardy could really benefit with a move to the blue brand. Hardy is a former 3-time WWE World Champion and can easily transition back to the main event scene. Styles and Hardy can tear the house down like they did in TNA. Considering that Matt Hardy is ruling Raw with his “Woken Brilliance,” Brother Nero (Jeff) should find his own domain to conquer over on SmackDown Live.

5. Asuka Jumps From Raw To SmackDown

Instagram Photo

“The Empress of Tomorrow” Asuka would bring an added level of excitement and legitimacy to the SmackDown women’s division. She already has the presence of a main event worker and will likely rise to the top of the brand, knocking off either Carmella or Charlotte for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship some day very soon. Asuka is destined for success, and despite losing to Flair at ‘Mania, her reign of dominance is not over yet.

4. Charlotte Flair Jumps From SmackDown To Raw

Instagram Photo

Maybe “The Queen” of the WWE is best suited for Monday nights. Charlotte Flair would easily transition to the top of the division during her first night of the brand. A match between herself and current WWE Raw Women’s Championship Nia Jax, if booked correctly, could be the female equivalent of Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III. Ms. Flair moving to Raw would definitely be ground-breaking, altering the landscape of the Monday Night women’s division.

3. Shinsuke Nakamura Jumps From SmackDown To Raw

Instagram Photo

Shinsuke Nakamura can easily transition into the main event scene of Monday Night Raw. Once on the red brand, a match between himself and “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar would all be but inevitable. Nakamura and Lesnar have faced off in the past before in Japan, but never in WWE. A showdown between the two at SummerSlam would definitely sell tickets. If Nakamura ends up being the one who can conquer “The Beast,” it’d be an absolutely shocking and groundbreaking moment in the WWE.

2. Roman Reigns Jumps From Raw To SmackDown

Instagram Photo

Roman Reigns is one of the top marquee players in the WWE. He’s headlined four WrestleManias in a row and will bring much-needed depth to SmackDown‘s very shallow main-event scene. Reigns’ transition to the blue brand might just be his spark that sets off “The Big Dog” to championship glory. He’d easily become the new face of Tuesday nights in no time. This move to SmackDown would be one of the most groundbreaking roster changes of the shake-up if it weren’t for…

1. Daniel Bryan Jumps From SmackDown To Raw

Instagram Photo

Perhaps, Daniel Bryan’s return to the ring would be better suited on WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw. Bryan’s star power would surely make up for the loss of Roman Reigns. His move to Monday nights, we’d open up the doorway to numerous dream match possibilities with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Shinsuke Nakamura (if also drafted), Samoa Joe, and Seth Rollins. Bryan is still owed a shot at the Intercontinental Championship after being forced to relinquish the title in 2015 following a near career-ending concussion. So, Seth’s title run may be in jeopardy if D-Bry jumps ship to the red brand. The same goes for Lesnar’s Universal Championship. Speaking of which, you know what most likely won’t happen during this year’s Superstar Shake-Up…

Too Groundbreaking To Happen: Brock Lesnar Jumps From Raw To SmackDown

Instagram Photo

If this were to occur, this might just be the most groundbreaking trade in the history of the Superstar Shake-Up or the WWE Draft. Lesnar’s star-power is of legendary proportion. However, he’ll only appear on the brand a handful times out of the year. And in the meantime, there won’t be a world champion on SmackDown. Therefore, Lesnar’s move is not just too groundbreaking to happen, but it may actually hurt the blue brand in the long run if “The Beast Incarnate” moves to Tuesday nights.

Surprise: Sanity Jumps From NXT To SmackDown

Instagram Photo

Sanity is a four-person faction made up of Killian Dian, Nikki Cross, Alexander Wolfe, and leader Eric Young. They have a dark edge that would fit quite well in any division on the roster. If built up properly, Young could be a formidable opponent for the U.S. or WWE Championship. Regarding the tag team division, Sanity may be the only force out there that could possibly put down The Bludgeon Brothers.

NBA 2018 Rookie Of The Year Award: Who Will Win?

$
0
0

The 2017-2018 NBA regular season has come to a close. It has been one of the more exciting years of recent memory. For the first time in three years, it is not a foregone conclusion that Golden State and Cleveland will meet in the NBA finals; in fact, it is the first time in seven seasons that a LeBron James team is not the clear-cut favorite to come out of the Eastern Conference.

Thanks to the Toronto Raptors and resurgent Philadelphia 76ers the East feels a little more wide open, although its still looks as though the Cavaliers are the most likely team to reach the NBA finals, but the path there will be a bit rockier than they are accustomed to.

In the Western Conference, the Houston Rockets have taken the reigns from the defending champion Warriors, at least during the regular season that is. The Warriors have looked out of sorts at times and seem to be fighting a bit of an identity crisis. But, once the playoffs begin, it is hard not to believe the Warriors will emerge as the favorite to come out of the West.

Both Conferences have seen rookies play significant roles on the playoff teams. In the East, Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons and Boston Celtics’ Jayson Taytum have been integral pieces on their respective teams. In the West, Donovan Mitchell has led the Utah Jazz into the fifth seed in the conference. So, which first-year player is the most deserving of the NBA Rookie of the Year award?

Ben Simmons – 76ers

Instagram Photo

Ben Simmons and the 76ers have been the most surprising and improved team from a season ago. The 76ers have been the laughing stock of the NBA for years since Sam Hinke was named their GM and the “process” was started. But, now, no one is laughing at the city of Philadelphia’s basketball franchise. The “process” has come full circle, and the 76ers have won 52 games and positioned themselves nicely as the three seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. A lot of the praise for the 76ers unlikely season can be heaped on center Joel Embiid, but the glue and most important player on this Philadelphia team is Ben Simmons.

Technically Simmons has been in the league for two years now but sat out all last season with an injury, per NBA rules that makes the 2017-2018 season his rookie year. And boy, has Simmons put on a statistical show. He finished the year averaging 16-8-8 with 12 triple-doubles, joining Oscar Robertson as the only rookies in NBA history to complete the season with 1,200+ points, 600+ assists, and 600+ rebounds. At 6-10 he is a matchup nightmare for opposing teams at the PG position. Simmons overall game and court vision make him one of the most dynamic players in the league.

Donovan Mitchell – Jazz

Instagram Photo

The Utah Jazz has withstood injuries and trades to fight their way into the fifth seed of the grueling Western Conference. In the middle of the season, Utah sent one of their top scorers Rodney Hood to Cleveland in what turned out to be the most significant trade of the 2017-2018 NBA season. Utah was also without shut-down defender Rudy Gobert for 26 games due to injury. The Jazz in large part is heading to the playoffs because of the stellar play from rookie Donovan Mitchell.

Mitchell is the most prolific scorer in this year’s crop of rookies. He will become the first rookie to lead his team to the playoffs while being the leading scorer since Carmelo Anthony. Mitchell averaged 20.5-3.7-3.7 during his rookie campaign and produced more 20+ point games than Jazz great Karl Malone did his rookie season. Mitchell is surrounded by less talent than either of the other two candidates Simmons and Tatum, and he plays in the much tougher Western Conference. He does not affect all aspects of the game as much as Simmons does but he is the better scorer and is arguably more valuable to his team.

Jayson Tatum – Celtics

Instagram Photo

The Boston Celtics have been injury plagued literally from the start of the season. Key offseason addition Gordon Hayward gruesomely broke his leg in the first game of the season against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Even with the injury, the Celtics found themselves hovering around the one/two seed all year long, but their hopes of a championship came to screeching halt when PG Kyrie Irving was lost for the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

Tatum has kept the Celtics engine going all season long battling through the tough injury losses the Celtics endured. He does not have quite the numbers of Simmons and Mitchell, but they are very solid for a rookie. Tatum finished the season averaging nearly 14 points and five rebounds per game. The talent around Tatum is better than the other two candidates, so his stats are not eye-popping having to share the spotlight with his teammates.

Who will win NBA ROY?

In all likeliness, Philadelphia 76ers Ben Simmons will take home the award. His all-around game is just too much for Donovan Mitchell to overcome. Now, the argument can be made, is this award about who is the most outstanding player or who is the most valuable to their team. If it is the former than its clearly Ben Simmons, if it is the later than Mitchell has a serious claim to the award. I believe though, in the end, the voters will and should favor Simmons.

Meet former Miami Dolphins cheerleader Kristan Ann Ware. She was a member of the Dolphins cheerleading squad for three years. During her time with the Dolphins organization, Ware alleges she experienced discrimination about her gender and religion. According to the filed complaint to the state labor board, Ware began experiencing hostility after it became known she was a virgin and saving herself for marriage.

Ware said the cheerleading staff was made aware of her being a virgin after a bus trip in London during the fall of 2015. On the bus, other cheerleaders were discussing their sex lives and pressured Ware into revealing her intentions of not having sex before marriage.

According to Ware, team director Dorie Grogan and team choreographer Brooke Nix pressured her to stop talking about her religion and virginity. She also alleges the Dolphins would exclude all mentions of her faith in blog posts she would write for the team website. Ware says that male members of the organization were never asked to stop speaking publicly about their religion. Also, during photo shoots allegedly she was berated often and felt mocked by the team director for her sexual choices.

Here is Ware describing her feelings during the ordeal.

“It was like a bus hit me,” Ware said. “I was completely speechless. All that formed on my face were tears.”

Ware is being represented by Florida attorney Sara Blackwell, who has defended other cheerleaders for similar complaints against the NFL.

This case adds to the growing list of discrimination complaints levied against the NFL and its teams. Former New Orleans Saints cheerleader Bailey Davis filed a complaint about gender discrimination she alleges is connected with her being fired. Davis also is represented by attorney Sara Blackwell. According to the New York Times, several former cheerleaders were anonymously quoted detailing widespread harassment of cheerleaders throughout the NFL.

This is a bad look for the NFL that needs to be corrected.

According to a police investigation, Owen had at least one sexual encounter with the male student, in which it was believed the two had met off-campus. Text messages between Owen and the student were also found by investigators.

Since her arrest, Owen has been charged with custodial sexual battery. She has been booked into the Lee County Jail and will make her first court appearance on Thursday afternoon.

God of War: Everything You Need To Know

The reviews are in for the newest of God of War game, and it is blowing people away. This latest installment will be available on April 20th, 2018. God of War is a video game franchise that is beloved by its fans for its exciting, creative and violent gameplay as well as a masterly crafted storyline. The first installment of the series was released in 2005 and was a sight to behold for its violence and gore that pushed the boundaries of video game brutality at the time. The plot followed the character of Kratos, formerly a loyal servant of the God of War Ares, who was betrayed by the Greek Gods and sought his revenge.

Storyline

Kratos was an army general and faithful servant to Ares who spread fear and chaos in the name of the God of War. Ares was fond of Kratos because his violence and brutality but felt he had too much of a connection to his loved ones which held him back from being a perfect soldier. Ares then tricked Kratos into murdering his wife and daughter in a fit of rage. Emotionally distraught Kratos abandoned his servitude of the God of War, and for his betrayal, Kratos was forced to wear the ashes of the family on his skin for eternity.

Kratos went to exact revenge on Ares for what he had done and traveled throughout ancient Greece as well as through the lands of the mythological Gods until he finally found a way to defeat Ares, Pandora’s box.

Pandora’s box held the power to murder a god. Kratos used this newfound power to kill Ares and become the new God of War. Over time Zeus, the leader of the gods, felt as though Kratos will murder him as well and in the act of desperation and fear, Zeus tricked Kratos into giving up his power as a god.

After asking Kratos to serve him in which Kratos declined, Zeus killed him and sent Kratos to hell. Kratos was saved by Gaia, a Titan who brought him back to life and assisted him on his new quest to kill all of the Olympian Gods. Through God of War 2 and 3, Kratos went on his mission slaughtering as many gods that he could find without remorse, which included Zeus. In his last act, Kratos slays himself officially ending the reign of the gods.

God of War 4

The new God of War game looks to be very similar to its predecessor, in that it seems as though Kratos will now travel throughout his new homeland, which looks to be ancient Norway, causing chaos and destruction. The twist of this game compared to the previous ones is, now Kratos goes on a long and exciting adventure with his son Atreus.

From the trailers, Kratos looks to have mellowed out and is much calmer than he has been. Kratos usually has been an intimidating figure that caused violence and chaos wherever he went. Kratos looks to be much gentler and understanding. Becoming a father again and settling down may have changed this brute’s view on life. The game is sure to answer many questions fans have like how he survived a suicide as well as what has happened since we last saw him.

By the looks of it, the game pins Kratos against what seems to be gods of Norse mythology, which would only make sense because it would not be a God of War game without battling Gods. The game also seems to have a much different plot where the previous one was about a man full of rage and wanting revenge, where this one looks to be about a man trying to bond with his son.

What to Expect

The God of War franchise is known for its brutal violence, which the trailer shows plenty of for longtime fans. Your son will also play a massive part in the story; he may be as much of a focus as Kratos is in the story and possibly more. There will also be many references to previous games and the repercussions that his actions will have.

In every God of War game, the graphics and the world itself are beautiful; now on the PlayStation 4 which has much higher graphics capabilities, the game is sure to astonish anyone who plays this game. Kratos no longer has his signature blades. Kratos turned in his dual blades for one weapon called the “Leviathan Axe,” and from the gameplay, it seems to be very similar to the hammer of Thor in the Marvel movies. This is a massive departure as your previous blades have been in every game since its inception.

I would not worry too much because within in this game you are bound to regain your blades at one point or another. The primary story being told is that Kratos will try and show his son how to become a god, while his son helps teach him how to be human.

Bench Clearing Brawls: Top 5 Baseball Fights In MLB History

$

After last night’s brawl between the Yankees and Red Sox, baseball is officially back! Tyler Austin and Joe Kelly showed fire and fury that we barely see in sports rivalries anymore, and it was a lot of fun to watch. With that being said, let’s take a look back at the five best baseball fights in MLB history.

Bryce Harper and Hunter Strickland

This one is on the list for one reason, the helmet throw at the beginning. It was the best and worst thing ever, Harper throws his helmet nowhere remotely close to Strickland. Harper’s Nationals and Strickland’s Giants already had some bad blood, but this escalated when Strickland hit Harper. Harper hit two home runs off Strickland in the NLDS a few years before, and Strickland didn’t forget. Harper, well known for his attitude around the league didn’t take kindly to being hit and landed a few good punches on Strickland to make up for his atrocious helmet throw.

Yadier Molina and Brandon Phillips

The Cardinals and Reds don’t like each other, so Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina decided to say something to the Reds’ second baseman Brandon Phillips when he stepped in the box to lead off the bottom of the first inning. Everything seemed to be a normal bench clearer at first with a lot of shouting and no punches thrown, but then-Cardinals manager Tony La Russa and Reds manager Dusty Baker got into a war of words, and all hell broke loose. Reds starting pitcher Jonny Cueto ended up in the middle of everything as people started getting pinned up against the backstop netting.

George Bell and Mo Vaughn

Two of the larger men to ever play the game got into a brawl for the ages. After Bell, who played for the White Sox at the time, was hit with a pitch from Red Sox pitcher Aaron Sele, he charged the mound, that’s when Vaughn stepped in. Running in from his spot at first base, he laid a hit on Bell that would make Kam Chancellor jealous. This fight was over quickly, but it was as hard-hitting as ever. It also took about half of both teams to hold both guys back after that.

Nolan Ryan and Robin Ventura

Nolan Ryan was at the very end of his career, he’s 46 years old at the time and still arguably the best pitchers of all time. It seemed unintentional, but he hit former White Sox third baseman and current manager Robin Ventura, made the worst decision of his career. He charged Ryan, and Ryan immediately put the man 20 years younger than him in a headlock and gave him a beat down that will last for ages.

Jason Varitek and Alex Rodriguez

What else would be tops on this list? This fight sparked so many incredible moments in months to come for the Red Sox, but it also gave us the greatest picture in baseball history. Red Sox fans will never forget Varitek stuffing his glove into new Yankee A-Rod’s face and silencing him. This was a lot of bad blood boiling over from the most significant rivalry in professional sports over the past few years, and this was the boiling point. Before the fight between Tyler Austin and Joe Kelly, this was the last time the Red Sox/ Yankees rivalry was truly at its peak.

Tristan Thompson Net Worth 2018: How Much Is NBA Player Worth?

Tristan Thompson is a Canadian basketball player in the NBA. He currently plays power forward alongside LeBron James on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thompson played one season of college basketball at Texas before being drafted fourth overall by the Cavaliers in the 2011 NBA draft. He’s currently in a relationship with Khloe Kardashian who recently gave birth to the couple’s first child.

Thompson has made recent headlines for cheating on Khloe with multiple women in the days leading up to her giving birth.

Tristan Thompson Net Worth As Of 2018: $8 Million

Thompson’s net worth has gone up considerably since he signed a five-year deal worth $82 million in 2015. He’s slated to make nearly $16.5 million this year – not including his endorsement deals. But… who knows what will happen to his sponsorships now that every member of the Kardashian clan has unfollowed him on social media.

Early Life

Instagram Photo

Born in Toronto, Thompson, 27, attended St. Marguerite d’Youville Secondary School in Brampton, a suburb of Toronto. As college recruiting intensified, Thompson eventually decided to move to the states to increase his exposure and skill level. He attended Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey for his sophomore and half of his junior year. He butted heads with his coach there, Dan Hurley, and was eventually removed from the team after a heated debate during a game. Thompson transferred and finished his junior and senior year at the now-defunct Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. He committed to play at the University of Texas his senior year.

2010-2011

Instagram Photo

Thompson averaged 13.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Texas Longhorns in 2010–11, and won the team’s Most Valuable Player award as voted by his teammates. He helped Texas conclude the 2010–11 season with a 28–8 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Longhorns finished No. 8 in the final AP poll. Thompson told media after the NCAA tournament that he planned to return to Texas for his sophomore season but changed his mind. In April 2011, he was drafted fourth overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

2011-2016

Instagram Photo

Thompson was an immediate contributor for the Cavs. In his rookie season, he averaged 8.2 ppg and 6.5 rpg in just 23.7 mpg. He was promoted to starter for his second and third years and continued to be an anchor for the Cav’s frontcourt. Between his second and third year, he did something a little unconventional by switching his shooting hand from left to right in an effort to decrease blocked shots. Bold move, but apparently it paid off as Thompson’s shooting percentage increased by 7% in his fourth season, 2014-2015, and has stayed above 54% since. That same season, LeBron James and Kevin Love came to town and changed the scope of Cleveland. They became a serious contender and in 2016, Tristan Thompson and the Cavs won a championship.

2016-Present

Instagram Photo

In December 2016, Thompson’s ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig gave birth to his first child, a boy named Prince. It was heavily rumored that while Craig was pregnant with Prince, Thompson started dating reality star, Khloe Kardashian. Though both Kardashian and Thompson have not confirmed the timeline of their relationship, the two started dating in 2017 and Khloe announced her pregnancy with Thompson in December of the same year. In April 2018, Khloe gave birth to a baby girl. In the days leading up to Khloe’s delivery, stories of Tristan cheating on his pregnant partner circled the interwebs once again.

LOOK: Tony Ferguson Shares Horrific Photo Of Surgically Repaired Knee

Tony Ferguson was set to face off against Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 223 last weekend at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Then, the unthinkable happened. Ferguson was making the media rounds for some pre-fight promotion when he tripped on a cord and suffered a serious injury. Ferguson suffered a torn LCL which required surgery and forced him to withdraw from the bout.

Ferguson was also stripped as the promotion’s interim lightweight champion.

A whirlwind of events happened throughout the week which ultimately led to Nurmagomedov winning the lightweight title over Al Iaquinta, who was his third opponent of the week.

As for Ferguson, he is currently recovering from a successful surgery.

On Thursday, “El Cucuy” took to social media and shared a gruesome photo of his surgically repaired knee. Fair warning, the image of Ferguson’s knee is not for the faint of heart, so if you have a weak stomach, it is time to click “back” now.

Check it out:

“I hate sitting on the sidelines, but ‘belt or no belt, I won’t allow that to define me.’ This is my road to recover,” Ferguson wrote.

There is no timetable for a potential return to the Octagon for Ferguson, but when he is able to return to the Octagon, it will be interesting to see if he gets a crack at the belt. UFC boss Dana White said he would never book Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson again after the fight fell through for a fourth time, so a future booking is up in the air.

Following the release of her 2014 debut Auqarius, Tinashe (born Tinashe Kachingwe) found herself suddenly being compared to the likes of Janet Jackson, FKA Twigs, and Aaliyah. Aquarius’s collection of synthetic and melancholic alt-R&B songs, all of which were written in-part by the singer/dancer, led to a great deal of suspense for a follow-up release; however, that next release — 2016’s Nightride — was not the project Tinashe had planned to release as her follow-up. The album she had planned to release in 2015 was titled Joyride, and, after three years on hold, she’s finally given it a proper release.

Tinashe initially began leaking “buzz” tracks from Joyride in 2015, dropping the singles “Party Favors” featuring Young Thug and “Player” featuring Chris Brown. By 2016, it appeared the singer was gearing up for a major promotional push, but just as it seemed she would begin releasing album singles, she instead released “Company,” the first and only single from the Nightride mixtape/album.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Tinashe described the changes Joyride has undergone over the past three years, as well as the evolution her music has taken in general:

It’s completely different. I think the theme and the general mood and essence is the same but most of the tracks have been revamped since then. I feel like I’ve grown a lot, and that’s reflective in the music. I’m glad that it took the time that it took to get the project to the point it’s at now…

…So Aquarius was a great summary of where I evolved, making music that was feeling R&B but also touching on different genres, playing with different sounds. [The 2016 mixtape] Nightride I think is a step further than that — a more moody sound that is, to some of my fans, the more classic Tinashe; it has that sexy, nighttime vibe to it. Joyride has much more energy. It’s a lot more upbeat. It’s purposeful, energetic, and it has an attitude.

Drew Rominger, a 25-year-old ex-fraternity treasurer, has been arrested and charged with theft after being accused of stealing from a University of Iowa fraternity’s bank account.

According to The Press-Citizen, Iowa City police arrested 25-year-old former fraternity Drew Rominger on Thursday, April 12.

Authorities say that Rominger made more than 70 cash withdrawals from the Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity bank account during his time as the fraternity’s treasurer. Rominger’s withdrawals totaled nearly $21,000 between August 2016 and July 2017.

While Rominger attempted to tell police he withdrew the money to pay fraternity bills, records showed multiple late fees and nonpayment of those bills.

via The Press-Citizen:

Drew W. Rominger, 25, is accused of taking $20,839.33 from the Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity bank account while he was treasurer, according to a police complaint.

Between Aug. 2016 and July 2017, Rominger allegedly made 73 suspicious cash withdrawals from the account by ATM or checks, according to police. The complaint said the ATM withdrawals came from the fraternity’s debit card, and all check withdrawals were signed by Rominger.

Police say Rominger claimed he was withdrawing money to pay the fraternity’s bills, but the utility records for the fraternity during that time show multiple late fees and nonpayments, the complaint said.

The Alpha Chi Sigma: Alpha Theta Chapter website says it is a co-ed chemistry fraternity at UI. Rominger is listed as house treasurer on what appears to be an old version of the chapter’s website.

Rominger has been charged with first-degree theft which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years.

Connecticut Teacher Arrested For Running A High School ‘Fight Club’

Connecticut State Police

Ryan Avery Fish, 23, told police he only wanted to be liked by the students. “I’m an idiot,” he said, according to his arrest warrant.

Fish, a former substitute math teacher, was arrested yesterday for encouraging students to participate in a “fight club” inside his Montville High School class, in Montville, Connecticut. He was seen in cell phone videos encouraging students as they slapped each other in his classroom.

via Newsweek

Authorities charged Fish with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, one count of breach of peace and four counts of second-degree reckless endangerment. Fish’s bail was set at $75,000 and he was arraigned in Norwich Superior Court on Thursday.

Authorities discovered the high school had known about the “fight club” since October 10 after cell phone videos of the fights began spreading around campus. He was subsequently fired by the school, and when confronted by the school’s senior officials said, “Boys will be boys.”

Last December, the Montville Police Department got involved when someone from the Department of Children and Families told them that one of their students showed “real and identifiable symptoms of having been traumatized.”

Authorities then began investigating the report and discovered that the one-on-one fights happened “under the direct supervision” of the former substitute math teacher. Fish admitted to police that, starting in September, three or four scheduled fights were held between four boys, aged between 14 and 16. Cell phone evidence proves at least two of the fights.

According to the warrant, one student vomited during one of the fights and another was sent to hospital after he showed symptoms of trauma in December. It is unclear whether any of the victims suffered serious physical injuries.

“The truth is I’m an idiot and wanted to befriend them,” Fish said, according to the warrant. “I’m immature.”

This South Carolina Man Committed The Most Bizarre Series Of Crimes We’ve Ever Seen

Lauren’s County Sheriff’s Office

I’ve been working for COED full-time for almost two years now and I’ve never been happier. I love my everything about my job. Well, almost everything. The one thing I don’t like about my job is how much information intake I have. Since it’s my job to monitor every corner of the internet, I read and see most of the major stories that happen in the world on a daily basis. And the issue with that is most of the news in the world is either depressing, terrifying, bizarre or just plain stupid. The following story is all three combined into one.

Colton Hurley, from the town (this is not a bar name, this is a town name) of Hickory Tavern, South Carolina killed a horse at point-blank range with a shotgun and then shot himself in the face, all while forcing a woman and her small child to watch.

According to police, the 20-year-old Hurley survived the self-inflicted gunshot ‘due to its placement’ and was arrested.

via Fox:

According to the sheriff’s office, witness accounts and physical evidence revealed that Hurley had come to the residence in search of the victim who was not home at the time. When the victim arrived, deputies said Hurley rammed her vehicle multiple times with his truck.

Deputies said the victim then fled the scene after escaping her vehicle, but Hurley then tackled and assaulted her. The sheriff’s office said one of the victim’s relatives arrived and the victim again escaped from Hurley, fleeing to her residence. That’s when deputies said Hurley went to a nearby residence and obtained a shotgun before fatally shooting a horse at point blank range.

Hurley then forced entry into the victim’s home with the shotgun and held her against her will for a brief time as she held her small child, said deputies. Deputies said Hurley then used force to gain entry into a locked room and pulled the victim outside, forcing the victim to see him shoot himself in the face.

Hurley’s charges read like a shopping list, as he was charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, first-degree burglary, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, breach of peace high and aggravated, ill-treatment of animals, unlawful neglect of a child, and 2 counts of pointing and presenting a firearm.

While this is easily one of the strangest stories I’ve ever reported on, truthfully, the strangest thing about it is that it didn’t take place in Florida.
