‘Lost In Space’ Reboot Set To Premiere On Netflix

The classic hit television show, Lost In Space, will return with a reboot will return on April 13th, 2018 on Netflix and many fans, young and old are excited to see how this newer and modern take on the show will be. Lost In Space focuses on the Robinson family as they have accidentally crashlanded on a strange planet where they struggle to survive while being surrounded by danger at every turn deep in outer space.

Lost in Space is set to premiere on Friday, April 13th, 2018 and will be available for streaming on Netflix. This season will be set for ten episodes in season 1, and with great reviews already in, it looks as though this may be Netflix’s new smash hit. It has cast Toby Stephens as the show’s lead John, the father of the Robinson family. Stephens is known for his role in the movie 13 Hours where he played Glen Doherty, and also for playing Captin Flint on the television show Black Sails. Stephens mentioned that this series would have a much serious tone. The family will have their faults and is a much more modern approach to the characters. The cast also includes House of Cards actress Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson, as well as Parker Posey, who appeared Inside Amy Schumer as well as Louie and Portlandia, playing Dr. Smith.

Instagram Photo

The original Lost in Space ran from 1965-1968 and starred actors like Bill Mumy, Johnathan Harris, and Angela Cartwright. The premise was that in the year 1997 a spaceship named Jupiter 2 was sent into orbit due to the overpopulation of the Earth. The ship contained Professor John Robinson, his wife Maureen and their three children along with a man named Major John West. The goal was to send the Robinson family to another planet so they can colonize for other humans to eventually arrive there in the future. The ship’s navigation was tampered with by Dr. Smith, a man from an enemy government, who was also aboard the ship. The extra weight of Dr. Smith threw the Jupiter 2 off course, which left those on bored stranded in outer space and forced to survive the dangers of the unknown.

Instagram Photo

The 2018 version of Lost in Space will have the same premise as the original, A family aboard the Jupiter 2 which is suddenly thrown off course and is now lost in the unknowns of space. From the trailers, the reboot is shown to have slight changes from the original. The first is the change of gender from the series antagonist Dr. Smith. This is not a massive change as her character is shown to play a similar role as in the original, whereby she is from a different government and tasked to throw the ship’s navigation off course. The character is shown to be a prisoner in a cell so by the look of it she was already caught. The series looks as though it will primarily take place on one or multiple different planets in the universe and less time on the Jupiter 2 as did the original. A huge aspect changed from the original was the robot that exists within the original.

The reboot altered the role of the original robot from a programmed robot that was made to be part of the Jupiter 2, to artificial intelligence that the Robinson family, probably one of their sons finds on a planet. This robot shows to be much more human acting than the original and with modern day graphics much more active in its body language as it is shown having a catch with a child of the Robinsons in the trailer. This show looks to be visually stunning from the previews and is sure to leave fans satisfied and wanting more.

10 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Carli Lloyd

In the 6-2 win vs. Mexico match on April 8, Carli Lloyd scored her 100th goal for the United States Women’s National Team, thus adding yet another accolade to her already long list. The 35-year-old is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, 2015 and 2016 FIFA Player of the Year, and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion. Despite being strictly a midfield player, she’s a gold-scoring fiend.

You gotta remember her monster of a goal in the 2015 World Cup final match against Japan. From midfield, Lloyd pulled back her right leg and released a rocket. The ball soared in a perfect arc and settled comfortably into the back of the net after barely grazing the hands of Japan’s goalkeeper. It was Lloyd’s third goal of the match and also one of the most flawless in soccer history. With such an overall outstanding background, you must know of the New Jersey native; however, here are ten things you probably didn’t know about her.

Instagram Photo

1. Her stats have gotten better as she’s gotten older

Zlatan was once quoted saying, “The older I get, the better I get, like red wine.” He and Lloyd have this in common. Lloyd started out with the USWNT at 23, and by 30, collected 36 international goals. Since turning 30, in just five years, she has nearly doubled that amount with 64 goals.

Instagram Photo

2. She’s an author

Lloyd is the author of a book titled: When Nobody Was Watching: My Hard-Fought Journey to the Top of the Soccer World. It details her experience growing up as a soccer player.

Instagram Photo

3. She’s a Hall Of Famer

The former Rutgers player from Delran, NJ is to be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame this May.

Instagram Photo

4. She’s a hot sauce lover

Not only does she bring the heat on the field, but now she also brings it off the field with the creation of her own hot sauce. Aptly named “Carli’s Kickin’ Hot Sauce,” you can buy it online.

Instagram Photo

5. She almost quit before she hit it big

The current Houston Dash player came dangerously close to leaving the game in 2003. Lloyd was cut from the U.S. under-21 team which resulted in her losing her passion for the game. However, with her introduction to James Galanis, he helped change her mind.

Instagram Photo

6. Thank you, Galanis.

If it weren’t for him, USWNT would be very different. He’s been Lloyd’s trainer since 2003, and the former Australian pro convinced her to continue with soccer. He founded the Universal Soccer Academy which saw talents such as Hope Solo and Heather Mitts.

Instagram Photo

7. Nobody loves cinnamon more than Carli

As a successful pro athlete, it makes sense that Lloyd is an extremely healthy eater. She loves spinach salads and enjoys to grill organic meat or wild-caught fish. Though her guilty pleasure is Cinnabon or cinnamon sugar pretzels from Auntie Anne’s.

Instagram Photo

8. She was also an accomplished swimmer

In addition to growing up playing soccer, Lloyd was also a swimmer. She swam until she was 18, and her best event was the backstroke. If she’s the Michael Phelps of women’s soccer, then Michael Phelps is the Carli Lloyd of swimming.

Instagram Photo

9. She prefers to keep things low-key.

You would think on her days off, or to celebrate her constant state of winning (since she’s always winning something), she would be a party-goer, but Lloyd’s not about the nightlife. Instead of the bar, she prefers to just get a sports massage coupled with a mani-pedi. Honestly, though, I think she’s onto something.

Instagram Photo

10. She’s a huge coffee fan.

Like most Americans, Lloyd is an avid coffee drinker. Nevertheless, this was not always the case. She got hooked on the caffeine grind after the 2015 World Cup when she was only getting around four hours of sleep a night.

The former swimmer, current coffee-drinker can be described with many more adjectives. She’s one of the best female soccer players in the world, and though there’s a lot we now do know about her, we never know what she will be capable of next. Well, whatever it is, you know it’s gonna be awesome.

Suspended Fiji Chapter at the University Of Arizona Makes Return To Campus

The Phi Gamma Delta fraternity — commonly reffered to as FIJI — will reportedly return to the University of Arizona campus four years ago. FIJI was shut down in 2014 for violating multiple university policies such as hazing and serving alcohol to minors.

The University of Arizona Phi Gamma Delta chapter was removed from the school’s campus in August 2014 for multiple code of conduct violations that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Michael Evan Anderson in April of 2014.

According to reports, Anderson fell off the roof of at a University of Arizona after attending a FIJI fraternity party. A toxicology report revealed that Anderson had a blood-alcohol level that was twice the legal limit.

via KTAR:

While authorities couldn’t determine if the fraternity direct played a role in the death of Anderson, they found that it had hosted 20 events from December 2013 to April 2014 where alcohol was served to minors. The university kicked the FIJI chapter off campus for violating drug, alcohol and hazing policies.

In the decision, Phi Delta Gamma was kicked out until April 2019. However, the fraternity was allowed to begin reestablishing itself last year because every member who was in the organization during the 2014 incident had graduated or were no longer enrolled.

The fraternity announced plans to “recolonize” the organization last fall and, in February, it released an update which said that it had recruited 18 new members in the spring. The fraternity has as many as 75 members.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

These reports come amidst similar allegations that have been made against fraternities nationwide, including Sigma Alpha Epsilon at East Carolina University, who were shut down for hazing and the Lamda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Arkansas which has been accused of taking sexually explicit photographs of women without their permission.

In response to incidents like these, fraternities such Phi Kappa Psi have made numerous changes to their code of conduct in an effort to address the issues that have arisen. In addition, schools such as Texas State have introduced new Greek Life rules to try and prevent these problems.

Former ‘Silicon Valley’ Actor T.J. Miller Arrested For Making A Bomb Threat

Former Silicon Valley star and Deadpool actor T.J. Miller has been arrested and charged after he called in a false bomb threat from an Amtrak train. Miller, who no longer appears on Silicon Valley, was also accused of sexual assault in December 2017.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut, Miller was arrested on Monday, April 9 at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. He was charged in a federal criminal complaint “with intentionally conveying to law enforcement false information about an explosive device.”

Miller appeared today before U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer in New Haven, Connecticut on Tuesday, April 10 and was released on a $100,000 bond. The charge Miller faces carries a maximum term of five years in prison.

via Deadline:

According to federal prosecutors, on March 18, Miller called a 911 dispatcher in New Jersey and reported that he was on Amtrak Train 2256 traveling from Washington, D.C., toward Penn Station in New York City, and that a female passenger “has a bomb in her bag.” Miller described the woman as having brown hair and a scarf. Amtrak officials stopped the train at Green’s Farms Station in Westport, Connecticut. Passengers were taken off the train and bomb squad members did a search but no explosive device or materials were found.

The complaint goes on to allege an investigator contacted Miller by phone. This time Miller described the woman differently as having red hair and a red scarf and carrying a “black bag carry-on suitcase with a handle.” He said she kept checking her bag without taking anything out; kept asking the First Class attendant what the next stop was, and seemed to want to get off the train and leave her bag behind.

According to the complaint, the officer detected slurring in Miller’s voice and asked if he had consumed alcohol that day. Miller replied that he had consumed “one glass of red wine.” Asked if he suffered from mental illness, Miller replied “no, absolutely not. This is the first time I’ve ever made a call like this before. I am worried for everyone on that train. Someone has to check that lady out.”

Reports indicate that Miller’s case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, Connecticut State Police, Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department, Amtrak Police Department and Westport Police Department.

Miller, who recently left HBO’s Silicon Valley in a “mutual agreement”, will appear in the upcoming Deadpool 2.

Peyton Royce: Hottest Photos Of WWE SmackDown Wrestler

Peyton Royce is a smokin’ hot Australian-born wrestler and one of the newest members of the SmackDown Live roster. She made her official debut on the SmackDown after WrestleMania 34, alongside her partner in crime, Billie Kay. Collectively, they are known as The IIconics. Upon their debut, they assaulted Charlotte Flair; double-teaming the former multi-time women’s champion.

Royce’s real name is Cassie McIntosh. She was born on November 10, 1992, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. At nine years old, she first began watching wrestling.

McIntosh made her pro-wresting debut in February 2009 at the young age of 16. Initially, she wrestled under the ring name of KC Cassidy. She cites the late Eddie Guerrero as her inspirational for pursuing a career in professional wrestling.

In August 2014, McIntosh received a WWE tryout in her home country of Australia. She was later called up to the company as a NXT trainee in April 2015. She made her NXT debut a month later, under the name KC Cassidy, wrestling against then-NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks in a losing effort. On August 7th of that year, her name changed to Peyton Royce.

Royce turned heel and eventually formed a partnership with Billie Kay. They called themselves “The Iconic Duo” initially, but their name was changed to “The IIconics” upon being moved up to the main roster in April 2018. Despite never winning the NXT Women’s Championship, Royce was a prominent fixture in the women’s division, racking up wins against the likes of Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Aliyah, and Ember Moon, among others.

The 25-year-old superstar made her official main roster debut at WrestleMania 34 as part of the event’s women’s battle royal. However, she did not win the match, as she was eliminated by The Riott Squad’s Sarah Logan. Two nights later on SmackDown Live, Royce and Kay arrived, attacking Charlotte Flair and hurting her bad enough for “Ms. Money In The Bank” Carmella to come along to pick up the pieces and the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Top 5 Moments Of Paige’s WWE Career

$

On this past Monday, the first Monday Night Raw after Wrestlemania, the WWE Universe had to say goodbye to Paige. After a match where her stablemate Mandy Rose took on Sasha Banks, Paige took to the mic and informed the fans that the rumors that have been swelling since December are in fact true.

In December, Paige broke her neck at a house show, and since then it has been reported she wouldn’t be allowed to return to in-ring action. Since then she has been managing Absolution, a stable that includes herself alongside Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. Since the injury, Paige has had to sit out of the first Women’s Royal Rumble, the first Women’s Elimination Chamber, and Wrestlemania 34. Having known that her career was coming to an end, she opted to end it where it began, New Orleans.

Four years ago she debuted there, and that’s where it concluded, to thundering chants of “This is your house.” For a woman who is only 25 years old and has spent just four years on the main roster, Paige has had a dynamic career. Here are five highlights from her time with WWE.

First Ever NXT Women’s Champion

Instagram Photo

Paige was first hired by WWE’s developmental brand Florida Championship Wrestling in 2011 making her debut in January 2012. FCW would be rebranded soon after into what we now know as NXT. Initially losing her first match on the new brand, Paige quickly became a crowd favorite and began going on a tear. In June 2013, Paige entered a tournament to determine the first ever NXT Women’s Champion. She would meet Emma, now Tenille Dashwood in Ring of Honor, in the final match of the competition. In a hard-fought match, one that some have said helped kick-start the women’s revolution, Paige became the first ever NXT Women’s Champion at only 20 years old. She would hold on to the title for 274 days before relinquishing it to move to the main roster.

Youngest Ever WWE Diva’s Champion

Instagram Photo

Paige made a surprise debut on the Raw after Wrestlemania XXX. People were especially shocked to see her since she was still the reigning NXT Women’s Champion. She would challenge the reigning Diva’s champion, AJ Lee, for her title on her first night. Another shock awaited the crowd because the 21-year-old NXT Women’s Champion went on to defeat Lee and win the Diva’s Championship. This made her the youngest ever Diva’s Champion as well as the only women to hold both the main roster and developmental women’s title simultaneously. She would have to relinquish her NXT title but would go on to hold onto the Diva’s title for 84 days with a second 35-day reign shortly after the first. It was a monstrous and iconic way to announce her presence on the main roster.

The Women’s Revolution

Instagram Photo

Paige is a major player in what is now known as the Women’s Revolution to WWE Universe. For years the Women’s Division was treated with a less than ideal amount of respect. For years, from the late 90’s well into the 2000’s,  the women were relegated to short, and often degrading, matches. Often they would be put in bouts that would exploit them, such as bra and panty matches. WWE’s criteria for finding women for their roster often was based more on looks than ability.

Now that’s not to say that the women who signed with the company didn’t work incredibly hard. Look at superstars like The Bella Twins and Hall of Famer Trish Status who didn’t have any wrestling experience before joining the promotion but became significant players. Paige helped usher in a new era of women’s wrestling. Starting with her work with NXT and how she became the crowd favorite despite not having the “quintessential” WWE look, Paige showed that you didn’t have to come from a fitness or modeling background. You could come from a rough and tumble unique background and excel. Paige wasn’t just out for herself either, after gaining success and notoriety she turned around and threw the rope back down to the immense amount of talent waiting behind her in NXT.

Team PCB and Charlotte Rivalry

Instagram Photo

When an actual “Women’s Revolution” was called for, the woman who had already been a driving force behind the one happening naturally answered the call. Paige was called upon to take on the three-person team that was a metaphorical representation of the “old ways” in The Bella Twins and Alicia Fox. When she revealed her allies, it made the WWE universe happy to see the debut of two of NXT’s Most talented women. Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch came out to fill out what would be Team PCB.

After spending a couple months with the pair, she turned on them leading to a feud with Charlotte. In a promo that some thought went a little too far, Paige claimed that Charlotte would be nothing without her father. She would go on to challenge Charlotte for her Diva’s Championship, losing to her and in doing so, making her a legitimate performer in the fans eyes. In a time where the crowd wasn’t sure what Charlotte could do, Paige served as a vessel for us to really understand how good she would be. The division was more important than personal gain.

Absolution and Retirement

Instagram Photo

After a lengthy and somewhat awkward hiatus from the WWE from August 2016 to September 2017, Paige was cleared to return to in-ring work with the WWE. After two wellness policy suspensions, surgery, and a somewhat public tumultuous relationship with former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio, fans were beginning to believe they would never see Paige in WWE again. In November 2017 those fears were silenced when she appeared on Raw with fellow new-comers to the main roster Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville creating the stable Absolution. Unfortunately, she was injured just a month after she reemerged to the WWE Universe. She continued to manage the two less experienced women, both of which would go on to take place in the first Women’s Royal Rumble and the first Women’s Elimination Chamber. She continued to mentor the two newer stars to help jump-start their careers, even though Paige was looking at the twilight of her career at the age of 25.

Instagram Photo

After a Mandy Rose win on the April 9th edition of Monday Night Raw, the three members of Absolution stood in the ring together, and Paige took the mic. She would confirm what all the news outlets had been saying for months, she could no longer be an in-ring performer in the WWE. She thanked Daniel Bryan for his inspiration. Bryan just had his first match at Wrestlemania 34 after being told he’d never wrestle again just a few years ago. She also thanked Edge, a former WWE Superstar, and Hall of Famer who had his career ended in a similar way and was on hand to talk Paige through what was happening. She stood tall and thanked all the women who she had helped build this fantastic division and cried as the crowd chanted “this is your house.”  A tribute to the phrase she would yell, “This is my house!” during her matches. She took one last stride up the ramp as the fans who love her cheered her on. Then she was gone.

Fast forward one day to the April 10th edition of SmackDown Live. With the reinstatement of Daniel Bryan to an in-ring talent, the GM position of SmackDown was up for grabs. In an almost serendipitous moment, a wrestler who once thought they would never wrestle again makes way for someone who can’t anymore. It will be exciting getting to see what the young GM has in store for the self-appointed “land of opportunity” in the WWE. She can bring a new dynamic and flare to the position, and it will definitely be a major juxtaposition from her low key predecessor.

On September 14, 2018, the film Fighting With My Family will be released. It stars Lena Heady and features other names such as Nick Frost, Vince Vaughn, and the former WWE megastar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. It details the life of the Bevis family, all wrestlers, and drama that arises when their daughter Saraya gets signed by WWE and becomes the woman we know as Paige. A trailer was recently released featuring the Rock and Florence Pugh as Paige. I for one am incredibly excited for it, and it is befitting the woman Paige became to have her story told. Check out the trailer below.

Football players at the University of Arkansas are being investigated for an incident at a fraternity house.

According to KFSM, the University of Arkansas police department is currently investigating a third-degree battery report after a fight allegedly broke out at the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity at 340 North Arkansas Ave.

The alleged fight is currently being investigated by both the University of Arkansas Police Department and the Office of Student Standards and Conduct. At this time, it has not been not confirmed whether or not football players were involved in the fight or which players were there.

Athletic department spokesman Kevin Trainor released a statement to KFSM:

The University of Arkansas Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has been made aware of an incident occurring this past weekend at an event. The event was attended by University of Arkansas students, including members of the football team. The incident is currently being reviewed by UAPD and the Office of Student Standards and Conduct. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will have no further comment until the completion of the review.

That is all the information available at this time. Additional details will be released pending the investigation.

Adidas Announces Deal With University Of Washington

Adidas has always been a big name in the shoe game, and now they’re making moves to challenge Nike. Today marked the next big step in that plan, they signed the University of Washington to a 10 year, 119 million dollar contract. This comes on the heels of signing New York Yankees up and coming superstar Aaron Judge during Spring Training.

This new contract will give the school around $5.5 million a year in gear, and another $5.25 in cash as a sponsor. There are some insane incentives involved in the contract, for example, Adidas will pay out an extra $500,000 to the school for winning the football National Championship, and $125,000 for winning the Pac-12 title in football. This deal is now the seventh largest in college sports, and the only bigger agreement that Adidas has on that list is with the University of Louisville. Washington will most likely become the flag bearer for some of Adidas’s newest gear, especially after all the scandals at Louisville. Washington has been on the come up in the world of college football over the last three years, so it seems fitting that Adidas wanted to go after them.

Instagram Photo

On to Aaron Judge, he was the most significant story in baseball both literally and figuratively. Standing at a towering 6’7, weighing 282 pounds, he is literally a huge deal. He also hit 52 home runs as a rookie in 2017, won American League Rookie of the Year and finished second in AL MVP voting. His insane first season earned him the cover on MLB The Show 18, along with this new deal with Adidas. Judge joins fellow young superstars Kris Bryant and Carlos Correa as the biggest names in baseball with Adidas deals.

Instagram Photo

Some of the other huge names across all sports are what is really making Adidas a force to be reckoned with. Starting with football, they have stars like Von Miller, Adrian Peterson, Aaron Rodgers, Marcus Peters, Deandre Hopkins and Josh Norman. Basketball, where the only thing that matters when it comes to apparel is what’s on your feet, is where Adidas needs to make the most significant impact. Since there are only 15 players on the roster, you have a much better chance of being seen compared to 53 in the NFL and 25 in the MLB. In basketball, they’ve secured this year’s probable MVP James Harden is a client, along with Kristaps Porzingis, Joel Embiid, Damian Lillard, John Wall, Jaylen Brown, Andrew Wiggins and Candice Parker. They are now also the official sponsor of the NHL, and they make the soccer balls that are used during the World Cup. Other baseball sponsors include rising stars Trea Turner and Byron Buxton, and even though it might not seem like a huge deal, they also have a contract with Tim Tebow. Whether you’re a sports fan or not, most people know who Tim Tebow is.

Instagram Photo

While this might not seem like a lot, especially compared to the giant that Nike has become, securing schools like Washington and Louisville is a big deal. Combine that with high-end athletes like Aaron Rodgers, James Harden, and Kris Bryant, Nike should start to be concerned. Under Armour stole Steph Curry from them, and should have gotten Kevin Durant too. Now with Adidas firmly in the mix for a lot of big clients, we might see more people starting to switch from Nike.

Billie Kay: Hottest Photos of WWE SmackDown Wrestler

Billie Kay is a beautiful new edition to the SmackDown Live roster. This Australian-born star made a big splash on the SmackDown after WrestleMania show, alongside Peyton Royce. They immediately catapulted themselves near the very top of the WWE women’s division by taking out “The Queen” Charlotte Flair and leaving her lying in the ring. What’s next for Royce and Kay, the duo known as “The IIconics”?

Kay’s real name is Jessica McKay. She was born on June 23, 1989. Much like her tag team partner, McKay’s birthplace is also Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She also attended the same high school as Royce (Westfields Sports High School).

McKay began watching wrestling at the age of 10. She made her pro wrestling debut on her 18th birthday as part of the PWA Australia promotion. She remained with the promotion until 2015, winning the PWWA Championship on two occasions.

Before getting signed to the big leagues (i.e. WWE), McKay wrestled in various independent promotions in North America, such as Ring Of Honor (ROH), Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), NCW Femmes Fatales, and Chikara. She first caught the attention of WWE back in August 2014 during a tryout in her home country of Australia.

In April 2015, McKay was brought into the WWE as an NXT trainee. In June of that year, she made her official televised NXT debut, wrestling under the ring name “Jesse” in a losing effort against Becky Lynch. Two months later, her name was changed to “Billie Kay.”

While in NXT, Kay was most successful when teamed up with Peyton Royce. Collectively, they were known as “The Iconic Duo” (now known as “The IIconics”). This team brought Billie Kay into the limelight as the duo routinely faced top stars from Ember Moon to Asuka. Although they were a definite threat to the NXT Women’s Championship, neither were able to capture the gold while on the roster.

Kay jumped to the main roster on the April 10th edition of SmackDown Live. On that night, they made their presence felt, beating down one of the best female wrestlers in the company.

The future looks bright for Billie Kay. And her photo gallery is way too hot to miss!

Lani Blair, 28, has been identified as the woman seen with Tristan Thompson in New York City on the weekend of April 7. Blair is allegedly a strip club worker.

Tristan Thompson is a championship winning power forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He has been dating Khloe Kardashian since 2016. She is currently pregnant with the couple’s first child. Khloe is the youngest Kardashian and the last of the three to have a child.

According to various tabloids, all of the Kardashians and Jenners have unfollowed Thompson on Instagram.

via Daily Mail:

Tristan Thompson spent the weekend hitting up a pair of New York City hotspots and holing up in his hotel room with a strip club worker who has been identified as Lani Blair.

The boyfriend of very pregnant reality star Khloe Kardashian, 33, who is due to give birth any day now, was seen coming and going from his swanky residence for the weekend at the Four Seasons in Manhattan’s Financial District with Blair.

They were first spotted by DailyMail.com kissing at the Penthouse at Dream Downtown on Saturday night, and video then shows the pair returning to the Four Seasons in the early morning hours of Sunday. Blair, 28, can be seen in a black jumpsuit while Thompson, 27, wears the camouflage track pants, Supreme jacket and white hoodie he was wearing at the club.

Lani Blair’s Instagram is currently private. We will update this article with more photos once she accepts my follow request. There is no word at this time how the rumors will affect Tristian Thompson and Khloe Kardashian’s relationship.

Bayern Munich, one of this season’s Champions League favorites, head home to Germany to take on a scrappy Sevilla side that upset Manchester United in the previous round. While Sevilla pulled an upset on the favorited Manchester United, Bayern absolutely dominated the overmatched Beşiktaş in the Round of 16 by an aggregate score of 8-1. Bayern won the first leg of this quarterfinal matchup 2-1 in Sevilla. Sevilla was relatively unlucky to lose the first leg as they had plenty of chances fall just wide.

Once again, Rober Lewandowski and Bayern Munich are heavy favorites to advance (especially with Barcelona eliminated), but if anything has been learned about this Sevilla side during the course of the Champions League, it’s that they should not be underestimated. If Sevilla are going to have any shot at advancing against Bayern, they need to nick an away goal early.

After what happened to Barcelona at the hands of Roma, expect Bayern Munich to take Sevilla very seriously and look to close them out early.

Honoring Humboldt: The Broncos Hockey Family Now and Forever

Tragedy Strikes Saskatchewan

On April 6, 2018, at 5 p.m. tragedy struck a small rural town in Saskatchewan, Canada. The bus carrying the entire Humboldt Broncos junior league hockey team, along with their coaches and other administers, collided with a truck. Fifteen people lost their lives and fourteen were injured, three of which were in critical condition.

The team was traveling to  Nipawin, Saskatchewan, to play game five of the playoff series against the Nipawin Hawks. Now four days following this horrible tragedy, families of the deceased and the remaining team members are honoring their sons and brothers they lost.

Honoring The Broncos

Instagram Photo

The cars of the deceased still parked in the exact spots they were before the coaches and the boys got on the bus. Flowers were placed on the windshield to honor them. One of the players in critical condition is Morgan Gobeil, his brother Ryan along with his soon-to-be sister in law Mallory, sister Sarah, and friend Drew Thiemann chose to honor him with a tattoo. The tattoo depicted Morgan’s heartbeat on their arms. Right after they finished with their tattoos, they drove straight back to the hospital to continue to support Morgan in his long recovery, along with the other players as well.

To respect the victims, the statuses of their injuries remain private. Twelve players are still currently in the hospital, Jacob Wasserman among the four of which are still in critical condition. The Gobeil family weren’t the only ones who chose to memorize this tragedy on their skin, the tattoo shop Rites of Passage Tattoo in Saskatchewan has had an overflow of customers with similar tattoo ideas. The manager recently stated a couple was coming in this coming with to get Broncos jersey tattoos.

Instagram Photo

Colton Halvorson, 20, Daigon Elmy, 19, Austin Hilts, 18 all have tattoos of their teammate’s names and numbers. Elmy and Hilts have them on their backs, while Halvorson has his on his wrist. Elmy and Hilts chose to honor the deceased Jacob Leicht, which an image of his jersey #11, along with a heart monitor for Gobeil in the background. To signify that he is still fighting for his life.

Broncos player Ryan Straschnitzki, only 24 hours after hearing he would never walk again is already taking steps to get back on the ice. He’s truly inspiring, never once for a minute did he ever show an ounce of defeat. In fact, he actually considered himself lucky, Ryan looked at his mother and father and said: “Well, I’m going to get onto the Olympic sled hockey team.” That’s the Broncos spirt, Ryan’s forging ahead in the face of tragedy. I can’t wait to one day see him on Canada’s Paralympic team.

#HumboldtStrong

The Humboldt Broncos live by the motto created by Philadelphia Flyers coach Fred Shero. During game four of the 1974 Stanley Cup finals, he wrote on the team’s blackboard “Win today and we walk together forever.” This is how the kids on the Broncos hockey team feel, they are walking with each player deceased or fighting for their lives. This hockey team is a brotherhood, hockey has allowed them to create an unbreakable bond. These kids have given their blood, sweat, and tears to this sport and became a family because of it.

In the wake of tragedy, the Broncos chose to rise and remain strong for their brothers still fighting and those who have passed. Prayers are the primary focus for the team right now, that and their unbreakable bond is what will help Humboldt heal, but never forget what happened that night.

As a tribute to those lost in this tragic event, people everywhere are placing hockey sticks outside their door to honor the boys.

2018 NBA Playoffs: What To Expect From The Eastern Conference

And you all thought the Warriors ruined the NBA.

The 2018 NBA Playoffs begin Saturday, April 15th. If the final few weeks of the regular season have been any indication, we have a lot to look forward to. The star power, the stakes, and most importantly the parity will carry us through to June–even if we have to stomach a fourth consecutive Cavaliers/Warriors matchup.

Here are the most important storylines to pay attention to as we head into the trenches.

Can We Trust the Raptors?

Instagram Photo

The Toronto Raptors have it all: the #1 seed, brotherhood, Drake, and an entire country behind them. They also boast consistency. When Kyle Lowry re-signed with Toronto in the 2017 offseason, many wondered if the Raptors were signing up to long-term mediocrity and continued postseason embarrassment by LeBron James. But if this season of NBA basketball has proved anything to us, it’s that we need to monitor, if not wholly destroy, our expectations.

Ball movement, switching out 2s for 3s, and incredible bench play have boosted the Raptors up, up, and away from the Celtics and Cavaliers, last year’s Eastern Conference contenders. Having a top-5 defensive rating and a top-3 offensive rating doesn’t hurt either. Perhaps most importantly, DeMar DeRozan has changed, completely refreshing his game. Not only is he shooting more 3s on an improved percentage, but his assists are up, and field goal attempts are down. He’s sacrificed for the sake of the franchise, and it’s paid off so far.

Instagram Photo

There remains the concern over the Raptors’ playoff sustainability. Lowry has relinquished parts of his game, just like DeRozan: he’s playing five fewer minutes and averaging six fewer points than 2016-17, handling the ball less and allowing the offense to flow from places beyond the pick-and-roll. But as one-half of an All-Star core, Lowry remains as vital to the Raptors’ success as DeRozan. So having a reputation for disappearing in the playoffs is not conducive to assuring the masses that you can make a championship run.

Instagram Photo

In 2016, Lowry shot a dismal 31.6% from the field in Toronto’s 7-game first-round series. In the Eastern Conference Finals a month later, Lowry shot 28.6% in each of the first two games, both losses against the Cavaliers. In 2017, DeRozan shot 7-21 and 0-8 in crucial first-round games against the Bucks. Lowry would succumb to a sprained ankle in the second round, and the Raptors were swept out of contention by the Cavaliers. Lowry and DeRozan have an unfortunate knack for underperforming in the games that they really just need to get out of the way. If they’re serious about getting past LeBron and making a title run, the Raptors need to be a dominant 1-seed, and focus on embarrassing teams out of contention rather than humiliating themselves. The Raptors’ first-round performance should give us a glimpse of what to expect as we head into May.

Wizards, Bucks, and Celtics: How Much Disappointment Should We Expect?

The Bucks are frustrating. The Wizards are confusing. The Celtics are finally human. Three teams once hyped to make serious individual pushes this year have fallen short, and while all are absolutely worth watching in these playoffs, there’s little sense getting attached. It would be a waste of energy, because neither the Bucks, nor the Wizards, nor the Celtics look prepared to emerge from the second round if not the first.

Instagram Photo

In December 2017, Bucks coach Jason Kidd was criticized for pointing out that, perhaps, expectations for his young team were just too high. Soon enough, Kidd was fired. Not much has developed in the time since to prove Kidd’s points wrong, though. While Giannis Antetokounmpo is a generational talent and has been tasked by the NBA community with carrying the league’s torch when the time comes, there’s only so much he can accomplish in the present as long as his praise hinges on the future. Antetokounmpo began 2017-18 on a tare, gaining early MVP attention for his unstoppable all-around play. Giannis has had to balance the weight of Milwaukee on his shoulders while the players around him file in and out. Eric Bledsoe came over in November, Jabari Parker returned in February after a full year of inactivity, and reigning Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon came back from a 30-game absence on April 9. The Bucks are offensively dysfunctional, and their defensive strategies are in flux. Khris Middleton, Parker, and Antetokounmpo have the potential to morph into one of the NBA’s scariest trios–but first, they need consistency.

Instagram Photo

Few NBA teams are as befuddling as the Wizards. When John Wall was sidelined for knee surgery in February, co-star Bradley Beal infamously said that playing without Wall means “everybody eats.” Considering Wall was averaging better than nine assists to that point, Beal’s statement suggested tension between teammates–sure enough, there was something there. In any case, restructuring the offense worked, and the Wizards went on a 5-game win streak without their 5-time All-Star. Ball movement went up, net rating improved, and they beat the Thunder, Raptors, Pacers, Cavaliers, 76ers, and Bucks in February. Naturally, hot takes began to fly: are the Wizards really better without John Wall? Preposterous.

The team’s success is a testament to the abilities of Bradley Beal, Otto Porter, Tomas Satoransky, and Kelly Oubre to step up when called upon. The glory didn’t last anyway: the Wizards went 6-8 in March. Wall returned on March 31 and had 14 assists in a win over the Charlotte Hornets. The Wizards then immediately lost four straight–two of them without Wall but against lottery teams. Then, in the Wizards’ penultimate game of the season, they beat the Boston Celtics behind Wall’s 29 points and 12 assists. On the last day of the season, the Wizards are the 8th seed. And we have no idea which version of them we’ll get in the first round.

Instagram Photo

The Celtics are entering the postseason without either of their two landmark 2017 free agency signings. Gordon Hayward, while close to full health and notoriously shady about whether or not he can make a return this season after his horrible injury in the season opener, is most likely not coming back. Kyrie Irving officially counted himself out on April 5, citing a bacterial infection in his knee. Marcus Smart, out with a broken hand, could return by the end of April–if the Celtics make it that far. Because for now, Al Horford is leading a bunch of kids into a first-round series against either the Bucks, the Wizards, or the Heat–all of which are scary teams hellbent on playoff success.

Young stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have performed consistently well this year, and Terry Rozier has proven himself a worthy point guard in the absence of Irving. But the Celtics are finally human and have lost four of their last five games. They won’t go down without a fight, but an early exit doesn’t mean much when considering how much they can accomplish next year.

Who’s Coming for LeBron’s Throne?

Instagram Photo

LeBron James isn’t about to settle. He is ready for an eighth straight Finals appearance, even if his teammates aren’t. He will drag all fourteen of them there if he needs to. Anyway, if LeBron isn’t spending $1.5 million per year on a champion’s body, then what’s he really paying for?

It’s honestly a shame that LeBron won’t get the same MVP consideration this year that James Harden has already secured. At age 33, LeBron is leading the league in minutes played, is maintaining his best scoring average in eight years, is shooting better than 60% from the field, and is averaging 8.7 rebounds and 9.2 assists–all during a bizarre, frustrating season that started with Kyrie Irving requesting a way out. Bookend that with a season ending with two roster revamps, a temporary absence by his head coach, injuries to his most cherished running mates, tensions with team ownership and management, and soup-based infighting. Oh, and LeBron is about to play his 82nd game of the season for the first time in his career. It’s not all going to be in vain.

Instagram Photo

Philadelphia might have something to say about that. The 76ers, who sit one game ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 3-seed, look ready for a real challenge. Recalling memories of the early Oklahoma City Thunder tandem of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Harden, the Sixers core of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, and Markelle Fultz is about to make a splash in the first playoff appearance following The Process. Durant himself said recently that the young Sixers are about to have “a real learning experience” in their playoff journey, but doesn’t envision them making a Finals run like OKC did against the Miami Heat in 2012.

As they come down from a 15-game (possibly 16-game, depending on Wednesday’s result) win streak, the Sixers have to focus on how to win without Joel Embiid in the first round, then figure out how to reintegrate him without losing a step.  Ben Simmons makes it easy: he’s averaging a triple-double through the win streak and is well on his way to Rookie of the Year honors. But is the “Fresh Prince” minted to dethrone the King?

Instagram Photo

On April 6, the 76ers led the Cavaliers by 23 at halftime. The lead itself was a sign of what was to come. Overcoming a deficit that hit 30 points in the second quarter, LeBron willed the Cavaliers to a 43-point third quarter, including 19 of his own. They dwindled the lead down to six. But basketball is a game of runs, and sure enough, the 76ers survived the avalanche. Up eight with less than two minutes to go, the Cavs made one last effort. They cut the lead again, and with 1.9 seconds remaining, LeBron was fouled on a three. While he missed what would have been game-tying free throws, LeBron showed that he’s not rolling over and dying for anyone. The game itself gave us a snapshot of the future: the 76ers are here. They’re giving LeBron, the Eastern Conference, and anyone else who stands in their way a run for their money. If the Cavs meet the 76ers in the playoffs, we’re in for a treat.

Real Madrid and Juventus, the finalists from last year’s tournament, face off in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal matchup today in Madrid, Spain. Real Madrid won the first leg in Turin after a dominant performance from Cristian Ronaldo, who scored arguably the best goal of his career.

While both legendary sides feature aging stars in Cristian Ronaldo and Gianluigi Buffon, their seasons couldn’t be any different: Juventus are en route to their 7th straight Serie A title, while Real Madrid are currently 13 points behind first-place Barcelona. With first place in La Liga out of sight, Real are putting all of their efforts in the Champions League, as they are two-time defending champions. And with Barcelona’s exit from the competition at the hands of Roma, Real Madrid is one of the favorites to lift the Champions League trophy once again.

With a 3-0 lead heading into the second leg, Real Madrid are all but through to the semi-finals. However, given what happened to Leo Messi and Barcelona in Rome, expect Real Madrid to come out firing in an effort to put the game to bed.

Flyers-Penguins: The Top Moments Of The Rivalry

$

0

During this decade, hockey fans have been treated to the spice and sizzle of some of the best rivalries in the postseason. Two teams who both call the same state home, the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins, are set to meet in the playoffs for the seventh time in their history and the first time since the 2012 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals — where Philly defeated the Pens in six games. As of late, its the Penguins — winning back-to-back Stanley Cups — who have had ultimate success while the Flyers have sat and watched. So now with a possible three-peat on the line, the expectations for this series are set to reach even bigger heights.

But before these two teams do wage war, let’s take a look back at some of the top moments from the rivalry.

First Playoff Meeting In 1989

It took 22 years after both teams were established, but the Flyers and Penguins finally met in the postseason for the first time in the 1989 Patrick Division Finals. Both eased their way past round one (Philly beating Washington in six, and the Penguins sweeping the Rangers 4-0), and were on a crash course to see who could get a possible shot at a Cup Final appearance. These two teams — who didn’t know they set the tone for the next 30 years — put on an epic seven-game series (including Mario Lemieux’s 8-point game in game five), with the Flyers coming away victorious 4-1 in the seventh and deciding game giving them the series 4-3. The series was also the first time one of the most polarizing figures of the rivalry, Mario Lemieux, lit the flames for what was to come in the 90’s.

1995 MVP/Art Ross Race: Lindros vs. Jagr

Remembered as the lockout-shortened season, the 1995 race for the Hart Trophy/Art Ross was an all-out battle between Philly’s Eric Lindros and Pittsburgh’s Jaromir Jagr. Through the entire campaign, the two superstars would trade the scoring lead back and forth, making it very hard to figure who would be named MVP when the season finally did finish. When the season did end, both players were tied with 70 points. It was decided, that Jagr be awarded the Art Ross for finishing with three more goals (32) than Lindros’s 29. Lindros would get his recognition being named MVP for leading the Flyers to a division title. This is one of the most deserving moments of the rivalry because if there was a full season played, who knows how much more wild this competition would have been.

Fight for Eastern Conference Supremacy

The Pens-Flyers rivalry reached a fever pitch during the 1995-96 season. Both teams were stacked from top to bottom with Hall of Famers and solid players. That entire year, the teams fought tooth and nail as the top teams in the Atlantic Division. Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr, and Eric Lindros were all in the top ten in scoring, but it was Lindros and his two linemates — John LeClair and Mikael Renberg, also known as the “Legion of Doom” — that was the difference that put Philadelphia over the top. The Flyers (103) would edge the Penguins (102) by one point for the Eastern Conference crown, despite Pittsburgh having 49 wins to Philly’s 45. It could be said 95-96 was the most memorable season of the rivalry as the teams were neck and neck from the outset.

A Five Overtime Classic

The Pittsburgh Penguins joined the Atlantic Division in the 1999-2000 season, and it was only fitting that they met the rival Flyers in the playoffs for the first time since 1997. The two teams faced off in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The seventh-seeded Pens took the first two games in Philly before the Flyers fought back to win game three in overtime. In the pivotal fourth game, the two teams put on a show for the ages, setting the record for the longest game played in the modern era of the National Hockey League. After three periods and five grueling overtimes, Keith Primeau scored the game-winning goal at 152:01 to win the game and tie the series. After that goal, the Flyers went on to win the series in six games. The moment is the most iconic of any in the 51 years the two teams have met.

Sidney Crosby Arrives

Selected number one overall, Sidney Crosby got his first lick of the Penguins-Flyers rivalry early in the 2005 season. He also got his first look at how he would become one of the most hated figures in Philadelphia sports lore. The 18-year old Crosby made his Pens-Flyers debut on October 14, 2005. The Flyers would defeat Pittsburgh 6-5 in overtime with Crosby recording a goal and assist in the game. Later that year back in Philadelphia, Crosby — who would score the game-winner in overtime on a breakaway to the disgust of the Flyer faithful — found his mouth bloodied from the skate of Flyers d-man Derian Hatcher and took several crushing hits from the rest of Hatcher’s teammates. Those first eight games were just the precursor of the impact that Sidney Crosby would have on the renaissance of the Penguins and the rivalry as a whole.

2008 Eastern Conference Finals

For eight long years, somehow the Pens and Flyers avoided each other in the playoffs. But finally, in 2008, they came together for a chance to go the Stanley Cup Finals as they met for the Eastern Conference crown. This also marked the first time that Sidney Crosby faced off against the Flyers in the playoffs. In a ferocious five games, the Penguins would go on to win the series 4-1, including a 6-0 drubbing in the closeout game. The series win also marked the first time in the rivalry’s history that the Penguins defeated the Flyers in the postseason. The 08′ Conference Final would set the table for the next four years for the two teams, as they would face each other again in the playoffs a year later, and in 2012.

Fight Night Before The Playoffs

Before they went to battle in the playoffs, the final game of the 2011-12 regular season between the Flyers and Penguins was an all-out war. The two were at each other’s necks all season, but things finally reached a boiling point on the last day of the season. Philadelphia would go into Pitt and dominate the Pens 6-3. At the end of the game, all hell broke loose. After a hard open-ice hit, the teams had an all-out melee on the ice and on the benches. Players were fighting and coaches were ready to do the same. While this preceded the crazy series in the playoffs, this moment was the precedent of the intensity and hatred these two clubs had for each other.

2012 Conference Quarterfinals Games 2 and 3

Considered the greatest playoff series between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, the 2012 Conference Quarterfinals had everything that made the rivalry so special. A few years before, the Penguins defeated the Flyers in consecutive postseasons (2008, 2009) both leading the Penguins to make their way to the Cup Final and a Cup win in 2009. So the Flyers were out for revenge, and boy did they finally get it. But it was games two and three that melted minds in the hockey universe. In game two, the Penguins went up 3-1 early, then made it 4-2. Philly would then score six more times over the final 40 minutes for another stunning 8-5 win. The following game was a barnburner. In that game three, the Flyers and Penguins traded goal for goal, before Philly eventually ran away with the game, putting another eight spot on the big board in an 8-4 victory. Those wins reflected a changing of the guard in the rivalry and were the lone bright spot in the decade for Philadelphia.

2015 Wild Affair

Many who saw this game described it as a heavyweight fight. Almost a pay-per-view type stage and atmosphere, the Flyers and Penguins duked it out in the middle of January in what was a throwback to their memorable games of the 90’s. The game, featured one ejection, dirty hits, fists flying, and 93 combined penalty minutes. In front of a rabid crowd, this regular season classic would need to be settled in overtime. Philly’s Claude Giroux gave the Flyers the last laugh scoring at the 3:57 mark of overtime to give the Flyers the 3-2 win. This game remains a kind reminder that the stakes are always raised and continue to be as each year passes.

“The Ultimate Fighter 27,” also known as “The Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated,” is set to premiere Wednesday, April 18 on FOX Sports 1 with heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier serving as head coaches of the latest season of the UFC’s long-running reality series. TUF 27’s cast is made up of undefeated fighters in the lightweight and featherweight divisions.

The season will come to an end on July 6, 2018, at the Pearl Theatre of the Palms Casino Resort in Paradise, Nevada, when the champion in each weight class is crowned.

Miocic and Cormier will then face off in a heavyweight title fight at UFC 226 on July 7, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada as part of the promotion’s International Fight Week.

Stipe Miocic’s coaching staff will be made up of fellow UFC fighters Chris Camozzi and James Krause, MMA and kickboxing veteran Dustin Jacoby, and Strong Style MMA head coach Marcus Marinelli, who wrapped Miocic’s championship belt around his waist instead of UFC president Dana White after Miocic’s latest title defense over Francis Ngannou after the champion felt slighted due to a lack of promotion.

Miocic’s teammate at Strong Style MMA in Ohio, John Gunther, is the oldest member of the cast.

When the show premieres, the two coaches will put all 16 cast members through a vigorous workout before making their team picks. There will be a coin toss to determine who gets to pick the first fighter and who gets to pick the first fight.
