The 33rd Independent Spirit Awards might be the only thing able to give the Oscars a run for their money.

Founded in 1984, the show is meant to give independent filmmakers a chance to be celebrated. Instead of a golden mannequin, the winners get a bird-shaped trophy. Representing films from 2017, Nick Kroll and John Mulaney hosted as the masters of the ceremony for the second time this year.

David Ogden Stiers

David Ogden Stiers, known as for his work on the television series M*A*S*H and the voice of Cogsworth in the original Beauty and the Beast, has died at age 75. The actor’s agent, Mitchell K. Stubbs, confirmed on his passing on Twitter, saying that he died at his home.

Stiers was born in Peoria, Illinois, in 1942 and moved to Eugene, Oregon, with his family. For many, his big break as an actor was playing Major Charles Emerson Winchester III, who replaced the departed Frank Burns (Larry Linville), in the sixth season of M*A*S*H. Stiers was notably nominated for two Emmy Awards for the role, in 1981 and 1982.

He also was well known for his work with The Dead Zone and the Perry Mason television movies.

Later in life, he gained further fame as a voice actor, notably working for Disney, such as both the narrator and Cogsworth the enchanted clock in 1991’s Beauty and the Beast, the Archdeacon in 1996’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Jumba Jookiba for 2002’s Lilo & Stitch. Due to voicing these characters in their original film incarnations, he often reprised them in other media appearances, notably the Kingdom Hearts video game series. He also performed voice work for the 2005 animated film, Hoodwinked.

What was David Ogden Stiers’ official cause of death?

Stubb confirmed the following on Twitter in the following statement:

“I am very sad to report that David died this morning March 3, 2018 peacefully at his home in Newport, Oregon after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. His talent was only surpassed by his heart.”

At this time, David Ogden Stiers’ official cause of death is believed to be connected to bladder cancer, as per her agent’s comments, although it is unknown if an official autopsy has been performed.

As this story is developing, more information will be updated as made available.

The captain of Italy’s Fiorentina football team, Davide Astori, was found dead in his hotel room. His official date of death is believed to be March 4, 2018, and he was 31 at the time of his passing.

What happened?

He was found in the early hours of Sunday morning, while he was staying in Udine, where his team was staying ahead of an Italian league match. Believed to have died in his sleep, he was discovered by teammates when he failed to show up for breakfast.

Fiorentina’s match against Udinese, and the following planned Genoa vs. Cagliari match, have been postponed out of respect for Astori.

Astori is believed to be survived by his wife and their two-year-old daughter.

According to the BBC, Fiorentina released the following statement asking people to be respectful of Astori’s loved ones.

“Given this terrible and delicate situation we appeal to everyone’s sensitivity at this time, above all out of respect for his family.”

Fox Sports also gave a brief explanation of Astori’s career, starting his career within a youth academy in Milan:

“Astori started out in the Milan youth academy but never played a senior match for the Rossoneri, making his Serie A debut with Cagliari in 2008.”

“He spent six years at the Sardinian club before loan spells at Roma and Fiorentina, where he was signed on a permanent basis in 2016.”

What was Davide Astori’s official cause of death?

At this time, an autopsy will be performed at the Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital. According to USA Today, the team has released the following message:

“Fiorentina is profoundly shaken that it finds itself forced to announce that its captain Davide Astori has died, hit by a sudden illness.”

Fox Sports, among other media organizations, including those from Italy, also attributed Astori’s passing to a heart attack.

Yes, it’s time for the Hollywood elite to come together and celebrate the best years of 2017. Jimmy Kimmel hosted last year and he’s returning this year. We could sit here and argue what could have been the blame, from envelope redesigns to scheming pixies, but it’s nice to see Kimmel move on.

Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water has the most nominations this year, 13, including Best Picture, but even though the polls closed on February 27, you have to wait until the award show to see who wins in the end. Seriously, anything could happen! For reference’s sake, we already mentioned what happened last year!

Dayanna Volitich Photos Full Story & Must-See Details

A 25-year-old middle school social studies teacher in Florida, Dayanna Volitich, also known by the alias and pen-name, Tiana Dalichov, was discovered to have been hosting a white nationalist podcast, expressing right-wing extremist views, including racist, anti-Semitic, and anti-Muslim views on Twitter, through video interviews and in columns.

What happened?

Having previously worked at Crystal River Middle School in Citrus County, Florida, the Citrus County School District confirmed that Volitich was removed from the classroom during the ongoing investigation.

According to Facebook, superintendent of Schools Sandra Himmel issued the following statement:

“On Friday, March 2, 2018, the Citrus County School District was made aware of a concerning podcast by a Huffington Post reporter. The reporter indicated they believed one of the persons participating in the podcast was a teacher at Crystal River Middle School. The Human Resources department was notified and an investigation was initiated immediately.”

“The teacher has been removed from the classroom and the investigation is ongoing. Pursuant to Florida Statute an open investigation and materials related to it are exempt from public record and cannot be discussed until the investigation is complete.”

Who is Dayanna Volitich?

Volitich is originally from the Pittsburgh area; she is currently 25 years of age and lives in Crystal City, Florida. Many personal details were “shared” between Volitich and Dalichov; both claimed to be from similar areas and were the same age; an official school photo for Volitich was also reportedly used for a “Dalichov” account.

It is believed that Volitich has deleted social media accounts under both of her aliases, including her “Unapologetic” podcast, although they can be found archived online.

During one of her podcasts, she discussed how she implemented her politics into the classroom:

“The 2016 election was the school year and I can’t tell you how many times my students would ask me who I voted for. And I said, ‘I’m not going to tell you who I voted for.’ Because if I go that way we’re in big trouble and I can get in serious trouble with my administrators. But if you can figure out who I voted for, you an put the name in this basket on my desk and we’ll see how many of you have figured it out. If you can use logic and pay attention to the things that I believe when we have discussions, and you can figure it out, then I will give your class a reward at the end of the election if you guessed it right. And they all got it right, which was extremely gratifying to me.”

“It shows me that either A) I’m extremely transparent or B) They were able to pay attention, they were engaging with me, with what I was saying and what we were discussing and they were able to do something with it. And I think that’s what so many teachers are not doing anymore. They’re not truly engaging their students, they’re avoiding the hard topics. They’re avoiding the things we should be talking about. And as a civics teacher I was able to do that. I was able to access those tough discussions and actually engage with the kids on those topics. … The administrators were not around, when those discussions happened, however, the kids really seemed to like them. They appreciated the fact I didn’t censor them in anyway, I let them speak their mind and they were able to kind of get things off their chest and ask questions, questions their parents might give a biased answer for, which I think a lot of them seemed to appreciate.”

“That’s kind of how I run things in my classroom, I just try to present the facts and we get it from all different sources. We go to different places, we try to figure out what the facts were and once we figure out the facts we say, ‘now what’s the conclusion that we should build based on the facts that we found.’ And then we would talk about it. And that’s pretty much how the class went for 180 days.”

In addition, she was also known as a writer. In particular, she was found to have anti-Muslim views during a piece she wrote for theHalsey News, according to The Daily Deb:

“Islam does not belong here. It is an ideology built upon the premise of violence. A religion whose followers are taught in the Qu’ran itself to kill nonbelievers and follow the example of a hedonistic cult leader desperate for power and blood. It clashes with everything this country stands for and puts Western civilization at risk. Speaking the truth about Islam is not bigotry. Being critical of Islam is not racist or Islamophobic.”

According to The Daily Deb, she also wrote posts concerning the concept of white privilege on her Twitter account:

“White privilege? Prove to me that it exists. Show me statistics that prove whites benefit economically SOLELY because of their race.”

“What does having compassion have to do with the fact that systematic racism and white privilege aren’t real?”

Oscars 2018 Red Carpet Photos: Must-See Hottest Pictures

The 90th annual Academy Awards is finally here! Super hot female celebrities are already flocking to the Oscars’ red carpet to show off their magnificent outfits and new, breath-taking looks. Seriously, there should be awards for best dressed. Or is that a job for The Fashion Police?

So many actresses look amazing tonight as they wait in anticipation for the grandest award show in all of film. And if you didn’t already notice, I haven’t seen that many black dresses on the carpet, showing solidarity to the #MeToo Movement. However, Me Too founder and activist Tarana Burke has said that she doesn’t mind if the stars aren’t draped in black on the red carpet because “the movement isn’t a gimmick.”

So far, a very popular dress color is white, a stark contrast to the “blackout” at the Golden Globe Awards this past January. Whoops, spoke too soon. Portuguese actress Raquel Strada is killing the competition on the red carpet with an extravagant black dress wrapped around her thin figure…

Instagram Photo

Some stars who aren’t A-list will surely look to get noticed tonight on the red carpet. For example, this Buzzfeed video producer Michelle Khare will certainly turn heads and get noticed in this jaw-dropping red dress. Like Buzzfeed or not, you got to admit that Khare is looking hot!

Instagram Photo

Speaking of looking hot in a red dress, 58-year-old Allison Janney appears to be defying any decay of age, as she puts women half her age to shame in that sexy scarlet outfit. See for yourself, folks…

Instagram Photo

And speaking of wearing black to show solidarity with the #MeToo Movement, you should check out singer Miguel and his smoking hot girlfriend and model Nazanin Mandi. Both look great in black, but hats off to Ms. Mandi who is simply killing it in that dress!

The 90th Academy Awards is here again with Jimmy Kimmel returning as host of the show! What better way to start the show then, well, the start of the show! We have a video of the opening monologue, complete with transcript!

Will there be any mix-ups like last time? Who could say, but I am sure that there will be plenty of references to it during the show! Probably around half of the jokes!

Take a look for yourself!

Watch Jimmy Kimmel’s 2018 Opening Monologue below!

What did Jimmy Kimmel say during his 2018 Opening Monologue?

A full transcript of the opening monologue can be read below:

“Hi. Welcome. Welcome, beautiful people. Welcome to the Dolby Theatre and greetings to our viewers all around the world. Thank you for watching. Thank you very having me. It is a great honor to be invited back for a second time. It’s a great honor to be here among so many talented women and men. Congratulations to all of you. We’re at the Oscars.”

“Some of you will be going home tonight with an Academy Award. What could be better than that? Nothing, right? So… oh. I do want to mention. This year, when you hear your name called, don’t get up right away. Give us a minute. We don’t want another thing. What happened last year was unfortunate. I’ve not told the story in public because I wanted to save it for tonight, but here’s what happened. This is true. Last year, about a week before the show, the producers asked me if I wanted to do some comedy with the accountants, I said, no, I don’t want to do that. So, the accountants went ahead and did comedy on their own. And I have to hand it to them, it was hilarious, but it won’t happen again. This time, the chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers said, and I quote, ‘Our singular focus will be on the show and delivering the correct envelopes,’ which… does make sense. Just out of curiosity, what was your focus the other 89 years?”

“I’m hopeful that things will go smoothly tonight. We can’t ruin this one. This is a special year. This is a big one. These are the 90th Academy Awards. This is history happening right here. Our friend Oscar, Oscar is 90 years old tonight, which means he’s probably at home right now watching Fox News. Of course, no, Oscar is here with us. After all the years, after all the awards given for achievements in show business, Oscar is still number one. No question about it. Oscar is the most beloved and respected man in Hollywood. And there’s a very good reason why. Just look at him. Keeps his hands where you can see them. Never says a rude word. And most importantly, no penis at all. He is literally a statute of limitations. And that’s the kind of men we need more of in this town.”

“Here’s how clueless Hollywood is about women. We made a movie called What Women Want and it starred Mel Gibson. Kind of all you need to know.”

“The Academy as you are no doubt aware took action last year to expel Harvey Weinstein from their ranks. [Applause] Very sweet. So, I’m sure he’ll appreciate that applause. The Academy kicked him out and after they did, I was curious, so, I looked it up. You know the only other person to be expelled from the Academy, ever, was a character actor, he was kicked out for sharing screeners. He got the same punishment as Harvey Weinstein for giving his neighbor a copy of Seabiscuit on VHS.”

“But what happened with Harvey, what’s happening all over was long overdue. We can’t let bad behavior slide anymore. The world is watching us. We need to set an example. And the truth is, if we are successful here, if we can work together to stop sexual harassment in the workplace, if we can do that, women will only have to deal with harassment all the time at every other place they go. Over the course of this evening, I hope you will listen to the many brave and outspoken supporters of movements like Me Too and Time’s Up and never again, because what they’re doing is important.”

“Things are changing for the better, they’re making sure of that. It is positive change. This is a night for positivity and our plan is to shine a light on a group of outstanding and inspiring films, each and every one of which got crushed by Black Panther this weekend. Which, that’s — that’s okay. The success of Black Panther is one of many positive stories this year. Especially for African-Americans and Bob Iger. Black Panther and Wonder Woman were massive hits. I remember a time when the major studios didn’t believe a woman or a minority could open a superhero movie and the reason I remember that time was because it was March of last year. But, this year, we have a lot to celebrate.”

“Ceilings have been shattered. We have our first ever female nominee for cinematography, which is historic. So many of tonight’s nominees are making history, and, in fact, if you are a nominee tonight who isn’t making history, shame on you. Greta Gerwig is the first woman to be nominated for director in eight years. And that’s important. Only 11 percent of movies are directed by women. And that is nuts.”

“We still have a very long way to go in that department, and a very long way to go when it comes to equal pay. Especially when you look at what happened with Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams. We all know the story. Mark Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million to reshoot his scenes while Michelle Williams for her reshoots got per diem. She was paid $80 a day for the same thing. And what made it especially unfair is that Mark and Michelle are represented by the same agency. And I have to admit, this story really surprised me. This one shook me, because if we can’t trust agents… who can we trust? To his credit, Mark Wahlberg announced he would be donating all $1.5 million to the Time’s Up legal defense fund. That’s right. So, I guess now the ball’s in your court, Michelle. What are you going to do with that 80 bucks?”

“In the meantime, triple congratulations are in order for the kid from Comedy Central, Jordan Peele, who had a huge success with his movie, Get Out. Jordan is only the third person in 90 years to be nominated for directing, writing and best picture for his debut film. And what, what a debut it was. None other than President Trump called Get Out the best first three-quarters of a movie this year.”

“Margot Robbie had a great year. She scored her first nomination for her portrayal of Tonya Harding in I, Tonya and was terrific. Whose kneecaps did Tonya Harding have to break to get this dream casting? Because, I mean, that was… if they made a movie about my life, best case scenario, I’d be played by Jim Belushi.”

“Another young actor nominated for the first time is Timothee Chalamet, who looks very dashing tonight. Look at that tux. Are you having fun? This is a big deal. He’s missing Paw Patrol to be here tonight. Don’t worry, Ryder and his team of pups saved the day. He’s the star of a small but powerful story Call Me By Your Name. Only two of the best picture movies made more than $100 million. That’s not the point. We don’t make films for money. We make them to upset Mike Pence. Right? He’s the youngest best actor nominee in almost 80 years, and on the other end of the abacus, we have our oldest acting nominee ever, the magnificent Christopher Plummer is 88 years old and still going strong. Maybe this is not the place, but I want to ask you, how does Lin-Manuel Miranda compare to the real Alexander Hamilton?”

“And once again, right here in the front row, maybe the greatest actor of all time, Meryl Streep is here with us. She earned her 21st Oscar nomination. He film career started in 1977. The longest she ever went without being nominated was from 1992 to 1995. Which, and that’s only because those were the years she was in prison, and that, I think, is amazing.”

“The most nominated movie tonight, a film that’s up for 13 Oscars is The Shape of Water, written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, a wonderful man. Congratulations, I’m very happy for Guillermo. You made a beautiful movie and thanks to Guillermo we will always remember this year as the year men screwed up so badly, women started dating fish.”

“Okay, before we start handing out the awards, some history, because we’re going to do things a little bit differently. The first Oscar ceremony lasted, and this is true, 15 minutes. From beginning to end. People still complained. So, if you do win an Oscar tonight, we want you to give a speech, we want you to say whatever you feel needs to be said, speak from the heart, we want passion, you have an opportunity and a platform to remind millions of people about important things like equal rights and equal treatment, if you want to encourage others to join the amazing students at Parkland at their march on the 24th, do that. If you want to thank a favorite teacher, do that. Or maybe you just want to thank your parents, tell your kids to go to sleep. What you say is entirely up to you. Do whatever you want.”

Ryan Seacrest Net Worth 2018: How Much Is Seacrest Worth Now?

Ryan Seacrest is a world-famous television host, radio personality, and producer. He’s most famous for hosting American Idol from 2002 until the series’ conclusion in April 2016. He currently works as a talk show host on Live with Kelly and Ryan, as well as a radio host for the shows American Top 40 and On Air with Ryan Seacrest.

Seacrest has worked in the entertainment industry for almost three decades. His first gig was for ESPN’s Radical Outdoor Challenge, as the host of their first season in 1993. But ever since Seacrest was a little boy, he’d have a knack for hosting shows in his home. His mother spoke with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about her son’s interest in show-business, saying that “Instead of playing with G.I. Joes or Cowboys and Indians, Ryan would always have a little microphone and do shows in the house.”

He was born on December 24, 1974, in Atlanta, Georgia. And he grew up to be one of the most famous and wealthiest talk show hosts in the world. Let’s take a look at how much money Seacrest has stocked away in the bank…

Ryan Seacrest Net Worth as of 2018: $380 Million

Ryan Seacrest’s net worth arrives at an estimated $380 million. In 2017 alone, Seacrest made $58 million, according to Forbes. How did Seacrest make so much money? Well, he’s an executive producer of the insanely-popular reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians. His role as host on American Idol also gave Seacrest a ton of cash. In July 2009, he signed a $45 million contract to continue his role as host of American Idol, and then in 2012, he signed a two-year $30 million deal to remain on the show. This guy, Ryan Seacrest, is absolutely flooded with cash. Let’s take a quick look at Seacrest’s road to riches and success…

1993 – 2015

After dropping out of the University of Georgia, Seacrest shifted his focus towards Hollywood to pursue his show-business aspirations. He landed his first gig as host of ESPN’s Radical Outdoor Challenge in 1993. After the show’s first season was up, Seacrest moved onto hosting three kid’s shows, such as Gladiators 2000 (1994-1996), Wild Animal Games (1995), and Click (1997). In 2001, he hosted a reality TV prank show called Ultimate Revenge.

In 2002, Seacrest was pushed right into the mainstream limelight as the host of American Idol. He remained as host on this program until the series’ demise in April 2016. However, he is scheduled to host the reboot of American Idol on March 11, 2018.

In August 2005, Seacrest became the co-host and executive producer of ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. He has remained as a prominent fixture of that show, even after Dick Clark’s death in 2012.

This world-famous reality show host got another huge taste of success as executive producer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2007. This show has proved to be mega-successful when it comes to ratings and viewership.

2015 – Present

Perhaps, the only failure of Ryan Seacrest’s career is when he hosted Knock Knock Live on FOX for two episodes in 2015. Ratings were so bad that the show was cancelled after only two episodes.

On May 1, 2017, Seacrest was announced as Kelly Ripa’s permanent co-host on the morning talk show, which is now titled: Live With Kelly & Ryan.

On November 17, 2017, Seacrest was accused of sexual harassment by his former stylist Suzie Hardy. She claims that Seacrest “grabbed her crotch” multiple times and “rubbed his erect penis against her.” Seacrest firmly denies these allegations. On February 1, 2018, the Associated Press reported that the investigation had ended and there was insufficient evidence against Seacrest.

Seacrest is scheduled to co-host the After Oscar Show with Kelly Ripa.

Eiza González Instagram: Best Photos & Must-See Pictures

Eiza González is a 28-year-old Mexican actress and singer that first gained popularity when she nabbed the lead role in the Mexican teen-oriented musical Lola, érase una vez. I think it’s safe to say that she has our attention now.

On March 4th, González absolutely killed it at the Oscars, not just stealing the show on the red carpet, but she also served as an Oscar presenter along with her Baby Driver co-star Ansel Elgort.

She got her start on Mexican telenovelas and also performed as a singer all throughout Mexico. Following her time on shows such as Lola, érase una vez, she would begin to transition to more film-oriented roles that would lead to her grabbing the attention of directors in the United States.

In 2014, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting in America full time. She would star in projects like Adrian Cervantes’ All Hail the Squash Blossom Queen. She would also star in Robert Rodriguez’s TV adaptation of From Dusk Till Dawn, briefly relocation to Austin, Texas to film the show.

Perhaps her real breakout role in the United States didn’t come until 2017 when she co-starred in Edgar Wright’s smash hit Baby Driver. She played Darling, a bank robber part of a crew put together by Kevin Spacey’s character and the wife of Jon Hamm’s character. She blew up after that and people began to ask “how has Eiza flown under the radar this long?”

Not only is González drop dead gorgeous, but she’s a pretty damn good actress as well. Oh, and did I mention she also sings? I mentioned that right? So, she’s an actress, singer, and model. She’s the ultimate triple threat that we’ve fallen madly in love with.
