Vic Damone Cause of Death: How Did Singer Die?

0
0

Vic Damone, born June 12, 1928, an American traditional singer known for songs such as “You’re Breaking My Heart”, passed away in Florida at the age of 89-years-old.

Damone was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 12, 1928 to Italian immigrants from Bari, Italy. Damone’s father was an electrician and his mother taught piano. His cousin was the actress and singer Doretta Morrow. Inspired by Frank Sinatra, Damone began taking voice lessons and began singing in the choir at St. Finbar’s Church in Bath Beach, Brooklyn, for Sunday Mass.

In his autobiography, Singing Was the Easy Part, Damone claimed he had been held  out of a window of a New York hotel by a gangster. Damone claimed he had been engaged to the thug’s daughter, but ended the relationship when she insulted Damone’s mother. He wrote that his life was spared when, during a Mafia meeting to determine the singer’s fate, New York mob boss Frank Costello ruled in Damone’s favor.

Frank Sinatra, Damone’s idol, once said that Damone had “the best set of pipes in the business”.

Martha Higareda Is One Of The Many Reasons You Should Be Watching Netflix’s ‘Altered Carbon’

0
0

On February 2, Netflix dropped a new big-budget sci-fi series called Altered Carbon, which is an adaptation of a novel of the same name.

Set in the year 2384, the series focuses Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman), a political operative with mercenary skills, wakes up 250 years after his sleeve (physical body) is terminated, and he is given the choice to either spend the rest of time in prison for his crimes or to help solve the murder of one of the wealthiest men in the world.

And while the series itself is decent, I came out of it asking myself only one thing: who the hell is that gorgeous actress who plays the take-no-shit police officer Kristin Ortega?

The actress, Martha Higareda, is a 34-year-old Mexican actress, producer and screenwriter who appeared in a number of Mexican projects before gaining recognition in the United States. Prior to her starring role in Altered Carbon, Higareda had appeared in American films such as McFarland, USA and Smokin’ Aces 2: Assassins’ Ball.

However, we have a feeling that after her role in Altered Carbon (boosted by a few *key* scenes, if you know what I mean), Higareda is going to find a lot more work in the American film industry.

The Top 5 Reasons Josh McDaniels Stayed In New England

0
0

In the week leading up to Super Bowl LII, it was reported that New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels had accepted an offer to be the new head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. This was cringe-inducing news to many Patriots fans, as it came on the heels of defensive coordinator Matt Patricia’s agreement to leave New England to become head coach in Detroit, all but spelling a major shakeup in the coaching staff of the most well-oiled machine in the NFL. Then McDaniel’s changed his mind.

So what was he thinking?

5.He’s the Ultimate Troll

Instagram Photo

The Colts are a mess right now. They’re coming off an unavoidably lost 4-12 season, and with the news of McDaniels’ backtracking, the only bright spot they really have to look to right now is that star quarterback Andrew Luck reportedly won’t require a second major shoulder surgery in two years. Which means he might be able to play next season, though at what level remains to be seen. With that in mind, is it so far-fetched to believe that McDaniels never really intended on joining the Colts in the first place, but simply sabotaged their coaching search? Maybe it was all a spiteful stunt aimed at the Colts for the Deflategate debacle. I don’t necessarily buy that, especially considering the trade of QB Jacoby Brissett to the quarterback-needy Colts appeared at the time to be an olive branch offering of sorts, Belichick believes in such things.

4.He Learned From the Best

Instagram Photo

In times like these, however, it’s probably appropriate to recall how Bill Belichick went about becoming head coach of the Pats in the first place:

  • By agreeing to take over as head coach of the New York Jets, after being brutally snubbed for the job three years prior
  • Holding an introductory press conference
  • Quitting at the introductory press conference
  • Writing his letter of resignation on a napkin
  • Subsequently taking a job as head coach of their division rivals.

If that’s what McDaniels thinks it takes to be one of the greats, then I can’t necessarily blame him. He might also just be a dick, though.

3.Winning, Winning, Winning

Instagram Photo

We know McDaniels’ acumen: An adaptive, do-more-with-less schemer whose prodigious beginnings and record-breaking offensive outputs made him a Super Bowl veteran by age 30. He is a certified NFL wunderkind. But we also know what happened last time McDaniels was a head coach.

  • He immediately tried to send starting quarterback Jay Cutler to the Patriots in exchange for Matt Cassel (yeah, no, seriously, that happened),
  • He lost Cutler’s trust (duh),
  • He traded Cutler to Chicago for Kyle Orton and a bunch of picks
  • He won his first six games with Orton
  • He subsequently lost 8 of his next 10, missing the playoffs
  • He went 3-9 to start the next season
  • He was finally fired following a videotaping scandal that he had nothing to do with but still somehow mishandled.

Yeesh.

For Josh McDaniels in 2018, being the guy isn’t nearly as important as being the right guy, as the Belichick – Jets incident from 2000 illustrates pretty vividly, over and over, for eternity.

2.He Knows Something We Don’t

Instagram Photo

All we’ve heard for the past month is that the Patriots are an organization in quiet distress, with trainers and coaches and owners and quarterbacks at odds over everything from legacies to retirements to the benefits of deep-tissue massages. So what is it about that situation that would appeal to him? It could go one of two ways: Either things are way more stable than anybody suspects, with a well-thought-out succession plan in place where McDaniels can eventually build his own head coaching legacy with his own long-term ideas of roster creation; or…

1. Belichick Needs Just a Little More time

Instagram Photo

It’s just as likely that Belichick sees the Super Bowl window closing fast and know that any additional turnover on top of the possibility of Rob Gronkowski retiring and Tom Brady developing soy-breasts would be too much for the organization to handle. Perhaps Belichick sees the future of the NFL elite, realizes it doesn’t include him or his organization for much longer, and figures a couple more Super Bowls will cement McDaniels’ legacy and future opportunities either way. And, worst case scenario, he packs up his rings, takes some advice from Bill and remembers that as long as Cleveland has a franchise, there will always be a place for young, talented coaches to cut their teeth, lose their hair, and become helplessly bitter forever.

Week 15, College Basketball Picks 2018: Spread & Predictions

0
0

Throughout this season, there have been a plethora of top-ranked teams that at times have looked completely dominant only to succumb to their glaring weaknesses shortly after they have peaked competitively. While the likes of Purdue, Villanova, and Virginia have had their moments of looking like serious National Title contenders, none of them have exhibited the elite aspects of a championship team on a consistent basis. Unless you are a fan of any of these or other perennial title contenders, this type of chaos and unpredictability is what makes college basketball one of the most thrilling sports to watch, especially in the postseason. As of now, the search is on for the underrated program that is poised to come out of the woodwork to make a miraculous run towards a spot in the Final Four. Unless you pride yourself as being supernaturally clairvoyant, the tedious quest of trying to discover the ultimate sleeper team will be a futile effort, which is what makes college basketball immensely exciting and anxiety-inducing at the same time.

Oklahoma Sooners (17) vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders (7)

Sadly, the highly prolific offense of the Sooners is now starting to fade into the realm of irrelevance as their horrific defense continues to be to their detriment in every contest they participate in. Having lost four out of their last five games, the Sooners are quickly sliding down the Big 12 standings and are in danger of becoming lost in their well-balanced and competitive conference. Going up against the Red Red Raiders, who are supremely stout defensively, the Sooners will have their work cut out for them as they attempt to reinvigorate their offense while playing enough defense to stave off another shooting barrage by an eager opponent. Although the Red Raiders are not known for being a deadly shooting program, they do receive enough production from starters Keenan Evans and Jarrett Culver to be slightly above average offensively. Even if the Sooners find a way to get their offense going, the Red Raiders are too disciplined and intelligent defensively to allow Oklahoma and Trae Young to establish any type of effective rhythm from a scoring perspective.

Final Score: Sooners 68 Red Raiders 73 Spread:

Virginia Cavaliers (2) vs. Miami Hurricanes (25)

If fans and critics have learned anything from watching college basketball this year it is that if you are blatantly one-dimensional, whether offensively or defensively, you will inevitably be exposed. To be fair, the Cavaliers had looked incredibly dominant on defense and utilized their exceptional discipline to win several low scoring games against great programs. However, their lack of an efficient offense ultimately cost them a close game against a Virginia Tech team that is relentless when it comes to firing off shots from anywhere on the court. Conversely, the Hurricanes have lacked any type of continuity on offense or defense this year, which has allowed them to play more freely but has cost them games against some of the better programs in the ACC. While the scrappy and unpredictable nature of the Hurricanes has helped them defeat some of their opponents, it seems unlikely that this unconventional style will work consistently against a much more disciplined and consistent Cavaliers team.

Final Score: Cavaliers 66 Hurricanes 56 Spread:

Villanova Wildcats (3) vs. Xavier Musketeers (4)

Although the Big East Conference as a whole has been fairly unimpressive from a competitive standpoint, Villanova and Xavier both have the potential to at least make the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. With a highly prolific offense that is orchestrated by the mastermind that is coach Jay Wright, the Wildcats are extremely efficient and accurate from anywhere on the court when it comes to shooting the basketball (50.6 FG%, 40.8 3P%). Although the Musketeers may pale in comparison from an accuracy standpoint, they make up for it with a tenacious rebounding squad that is led by Trevon Bluiett (5.6 RPG) and J.P. Macura (4.3 RPG). While the Wildcats may have the better shooters, the Musketeers are much more proficient at garnering extra opportunities off of the offensive glass, an advantage that will give them the edge in what should be an incredibly entertaining shootout.

Final Score: Wildcats 84 Musketeers 87 Spread:

Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Duke Blue Devils (12)

Despite being a poor team defensively, the Hokies were able to overcome a much more physical and disciplined opponent in Virginia on the road (73.2 PAPG). Doing what all but what other team was unable to accomplish, the Hokies were able to hold the Cavaliers to under 35% shooting from the field while making 43.1% of their overall shots themselves. However, against a Blue Devils team that is far better at shooting, rebounding and moving the ball, the Hokies could be in serious trouble at Cameron Indoor Stadium. From an eye test perspective, the Hokies are almost incapable of garnering offensive rebounds and can often be seen sprinting down to the other end of the court once they know they have missed a shot. Without those extra opportunities, the Hokies will eventually be overwhelmed by a Blue Devils team that has much more length and talent than Virginia Tech possesses.

Final Score: Hokies 72 Blue Devils 83 Spread:

Arizona Wildcats (17) vs. Arizona State Sun Devils (25)

Although the Pac-12 has been severely lacking in nationally renowned matchups this season, the renewed basketball rivalry between Arizona and Arizona State was a thrilling shootout affair the first time around. What makes this rivalry so compelling, at least for this year, is how similar these programs are both offensively and defensively. However, the deciding factor in how this particular contest will play out is what style of offense will win out: quality or quantity. While the Wildcats do not score as many points as the Sun Devils do on a per game basis, they are much more accurate when it comes to taking shots from the field (Wildcats FG%: 51.2, Sun Devils FG% 46.8). Conversely, the Sun Devils take many more shots and are especially deadly from three-point range when all of their shooters establish a favorable rhythm. Although the Wildcats may be the better team overall, the Sun Devils are capable of scoring at a higher rate, which is a significant difference between two teams that are horrible on defense.

Final Score: Wildcats 89 Sun Devils 92 Spread:

West Virginia Mountaineers (20) vs. Kansas Jayhawks (13)

Outside of Texas Tech, none of the programs within the Big 12 Conference have looked consistent from a competitive standpoint. While both West Virginia and Kansas have had their moments of looking dominant, their lack of continuity on the defensive side of the court has hurt them tremendously in contests that come down to high-scoring shootouts. As both programs average over 80 points per game, it would be fairly safe to assume that these two conference rivals will attempt to score early and often while neglecting to play any type of defense to stifle the other from scoring. In that regard, Kansas has a clear edge over the Mountaineers as they are much more accurate from the field and are more efficient at moving the ball to the open shooter for an easy shot.

Final Score: Mountaineers 84 Jayhawks 88 Spread:

North Carolina Tar Heels (14) vs. Louisville Cardinals

On the brink of falling out the rankings last week, the determined Tar Heels regrouped and committed themselves to the aspects that have allowed them to be great this season: scoring and rebounding. In particular, the Tar Heels gutsy and impressive offensive showing against the Blue Devils was indicative of a program that could go far in the NCAA Tournament if the majority of their players can hit open shots when those opportunities present themselves. Although the Cardinals overall record of 18-8 would appear to be unimpressive from a macro perspective, they have actually been competitive in most of the games they have played in this season. With all but one of their eight losses being by 10 points or less, the Cardinals are a program that clearly has the pieces to score consistently but lacks the physicality to play decent defense down the stretch to close out tight games. While this contest will certainly be close throughout, the Cardinals scrappy offense is not quite proficient enough to overcome a Tar Heels team that is currently hitting its stride.

Final Score: Tar Heels 79 Cardinals 70 Spread:

Duke Blue Devils (12) vs. Clemson Tigers (11)

Time and again this season, the Blue Devils have shot themselves in the foot by turning the ball over carelessly and lack the continuity of a veteran team that is needed to play above average defense consistently. This is made even more frustrating by the fact that the Blue Devils boast one of the most efficient and well-rounded offenses in the country, which has surprisingly not been enough on five separate occasions this season. Although the Tigers are nowhere near the Blue Devils as an offensive program, their imposing presence on defense combined with the fact that they are able to take advantage of free three opportunities (75.4 FT%) has helped them overcome injuries and persevere in arguably the most brutal conference in college basketball. While the Blue Devils are more than capable of outshooting and outrebounding the Tigers, Clemson is both more disciplined and experienced, two areas that have cost the Blue Devils winnable games this season.

Final Score: Blue Devils 76 Tigers 80 Spread:

Ohio State Buckeyes (8) vs. Michigan Wolverines (22)

Despite playing in a top-heavy Big 10 Conference, the Buckeyes have never looked discouraged or intimidated by their respective opposition. In their last nine wins, the Buckeyes have held their opponents to 67 total points or less, something that has been vital in them remaining successful despite their average and relatively inconsistent offense (77.1 PPG). While the Wolverines may not be much different from the Buckeyes in terms of their preferred competitive style, they have lacked the defensive consistency needed for them to overcome their erratic offensive struggles. Although both programs are highly competitive and capable of making a lot of noise come March Madness, the Buckeyes have shown more consistency on both sides of the ball recently and will most likely continue that success on the road against another worthy conference opponent.

Final Score: Buckeyes 73 Wolverines 67 Spread:

Wichita State Shockers (19) vs. Cincinnati Bearcats (5)

This could very well be the most interesting contest of the week for one compelling reason: these two teams could not be more different in nearly every way. For the Shockers, it’s all about moving the ball effectively and quickly to their open shooters as four of their five starters are averaging a field goal percentage of 49.6% or better this season. On top of that, the Shockers are incredibly deep and can utilize different lineups to exploit their opponent’s weaknesses. What the Bearcats lack in notable depth, they make up for with a tenacious defense (eight SPG) that can attack the boards relentlessly to prevent their overzealous opponents from garnering extra opportunities. While the Shockers have the potential to get off to an early lead given their cerebral offense, the Bearcats are built to last as they are more physical and potent when it comes to shutting down their opponents on the defensive end of the court, which has been the Achilles heel for Wichita State then they have struggled this season.

Final Score: Shockers 66 Bearcats 71 Spread:

Top 25 College Basketball Rankings 2018: Week 15 AP Poll

With the top three programs in the country losing at least once last week, it would be fair to assume that there would be a fair amount of shake-up at the top. However, we all know the saying concerning assumptions. As several programs at the middle and near the bottom of the rankings succumbed to lesser opponents last week, this allowed both Villanova (dropped from 1st to 3rd) and Virginia (move up one spot from 2nd 1st) to remain near the top of the AP Poll in spite of losing. To be fair, both of the aforementioned programs have played at a high level this season and arguably should still be considered top-tier programs even with their surprising lapses last week. Aside from the slight movements at the top, the Xavier Musketeers are continuing to rise through the rankings as their prolific offense is keeping them in contention for a Big East title with Villanova being the only program standing in the way of them attaining that goal.

Top 25 College Basketball Rankings 2018: Week 15

Losing twice last week, the Sooners barely remained in the rankings as they dropped from 17th to 23rd in the AP Poll. Unsurprisingly, Oklahoma struggles have been the result of playing dreadful defense while their predictable offense has been easily stifled in recent weeks by opportunistic defensive programs. With a contest against Texas Tech coming up next, the Sooners are in serious danger of not only losing that particular matchup but could very well drop out of the rankings altogether to become one of many teams that had the potential to be great yet simply fell short because they failed to make late-season adjustments. However, the Sooners can redeem themselves and possibly save their season with a win over the Red Raiders, a victory that would do wonders for their immediate and long term confidence.

Ranking Team (1st place votes)
1  Virginia (30)
2  Michigan State (21)
3  Villanova (9)
4  Xavier (5)

18  Tennessee
19  Wichita State
20  West Virginia
21  Texas A&M
22  Michigan
23  Oklahoma
24  Nevada
25  Arizona State

Despite losing to Virginia Tech on Saturday, Virginia was able to supersede Villanova for the top spot in the rankings this week. Being ranked number one in the AP Poll for the first time in 35 years, the Cavaliers should feel immensely proud of their accomplishments this season in a conference that is notoriously known for being insanely competitive. However, the Cavaliers should not rest on their laurels as they were somewhat exposed in their most recent loss for having an anemic offense, something that they need to improve if they hope to compete for a National Title.

Dropped from rankings: Kentucky 24, Miami 25
Others receiving votes that did not make the poll: New Mexico State 66, Florida 48, Creighton 44, Butler 43, Virginia Tech 29, Middle Tennessee 26, Alabama 22, Houston 16, Nebraska 15, Missouri 14, Miami 10, Kentucky 8, TCU 8, East Tennessee State 5, Oklahoma State 4, St. Bonaventure 3, Louisville 2, Florida State 1, Vermont 1

Marianna Riossi, a 28-year-old teacher near Toronto, has been charged with three counts of sex assault and sexual exploitation over an alleged affair with a male student.

According to police, Riossi, a high school supply teacher with the York District Catholic School Board since 2014, came to their attention on January 26.

Authorities reportedly received an anonymous tip that Riossi, whose Facebook page lists her as “in a relationship”, was in a relationship with an unidentified teen.

via Canoe:

It’s alleged the Vaughn woman was involved with the student between October and December of last year. Her profile claimed she was employed at St. Theresa of Lisieux, in Richmond Hill.

“These allegations are certainly upsetting for YCDSB,” board spokesman Sonia Gallo said in a statement. “We take very seriously our responsibility to ensure a safe and respectful working and learning environment for all our students and staff.

“Ms. Riossi was immediately removed from her teaching assignment, and is currently on leave, as per board practice.”

Detectives would not reveal which school the alleged victim attends. Certified to teach since 2012, she is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. On ratemyteacher.com, students give her a whopping 4.76 out of 5. One commenter said Riossi “makes learning fun.” There were also a number of lewd comments on her rating page as of Thursday.

Riossi will appear in Newmarket court on March 6.

WWE Raw Live Stream: How To Watch Monday Night Raw Online – 02/12/18

The superstars of Monday Night Raw are scheduled to invade the SAP Center this evening in San Jose, California. Tonight’s show is set to feature a last chance Elimination Chamber qualifier match involving the likes of first-ever (and former) Universal Champion Finn Balor, Titus Worldwide’s Apollo Crews, “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt, and “Woken” Matt Hardy. The winner of this fatal 4-way match will fill out the last remaining spot in the men’s Elimination Chamber match.

Who will win tonight’s fatal 4-way? Will Matt Hardy delete the competition? Delete? Delete? Delete? I really wanted to write that. Sorry. Maybe tonight’s the night for Titus Worldwide, an Eater of Worlds or a Demon King.

But if you checked the wrestling dirtsheets over the weekend, you’d have noticed that WWE spoiled the outcome of the match via WWE.com screenshot. Click here for spoilers to tonight’s fatal 4-way match.

Expect “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman to be on a war path one way or another during tonight’s show. That guy’s always beating people up and causing havoc. What fun! Last week, Braun wasn’t able to win the triple threat main event showdown to determine who leaves their pod last at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. But he was able to gain some retribution for that loss as he laid out both his opponents John Cena and Elias (the winner) after the match.

And did WWE Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss reform a past friendship last week with former 6-time champion Mickie James? Even though Bliss saved Mickie from a savage beatdown at the hands of Absolution, can she really trust Little Miss Bliss? And by the way, what’s next on the plate for the undefeated “Empress of Tomorrow” Asuka?

Excited about tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw? Look below and find out what you need to know so you can live stream tonight’s show on your TV, PC, tablet or mobile device.

While the film was panned and a financial failure, he rebounded by playing the titular character in Creed, a spin-off of the Rocky film franchise, the same year. In 2018, he later appeared as the villain, Erik Killmonger, in Black Panther.

Danielle Herrington, 24, has been announced as the cover model for Sports Illustrated’s 2018 Swimsuit edition. Herrington was part of the rookie class in the 2017 issue.

Last year’s cover model was Kate Upton, who had three different cover shots circulated.

The beautiful brunette was shot by photographer Ben Watts in Harbour Island, Bahamas, where she stunned on the pink sand beaches of the Caribbean island. Danielle started her career just last year and stole the hearts of so many SI Swimsuit fans. The Compton, Calif. native mesmerized as she posed for her first professional shoot (EVER) in beautiful Fiji. “I remember being told I was going to live in New York,” Danielle said last year after seeing her first photos in the magazine. “Six months later, I’m a Swimsuit model.”

“Last year, Danielle was a rookie, and yet already an exemplary model,” said SI Swimsuit Editor MJ Day. “She’s an extra hard worker and a natural brand ambassador. All those things separately don’t guarantee a cover, though. Danielle was a shy girl, who went from taking her first photos last year to showing up this year a completely different person. All the good things about her seemed to be magnified.

“She owned every single second of her shoot. She had an enthusiasm and effervescence about her — I felt like I was meeting her for the first time. Last year she showed up never expecting to be there; this year she showed up completely claiming her place and status as a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model.”

According to People, Herrington grew up in Compton, Califorina, and had a childhood that she describes as “pretty normal.”

5 Last Minute Valentine’s Day Gifts That Will Save You From Despair

0
0

You wake up just like any other morning. It’s February 14th, and by the looks of it, this day won’t be half bad. You try not to wake up your significant other as you spring out of bed. Success! You notice the weather appears to be unseasonably warm and you think about wearing short sleeves to work. In February no less! Your morning bathroom break isn’t too long but long enough to be meaningful, and your shower stayed at perfect temp throughout. No in-bath adjustments today!

Something feels different about this day and you like it. Hey, check it out! You’re significant other made you a breakfast smoothie with a charming note on it, “Hey, luv u.” God, they’re the best, huh? As you’re slugging down a wonderful blend of yogurt, strawberry, and surprisingly ripe kiwi, it hits you…

A wave of panic and smoothie overflow creeps in. It gets in your eyes. You close them – damn that kiwi juice stings. You see visions of fancy restaurant reservations and other gifts that require more punctual planning. They’re bouncing around and laughing at you. Taunting you. You open your eyes and shout, “Begone imaginary presents! Do not torment me! For it is Valentine’s Day and I am woefully underprepared.”

Fear not, procrastinators. Here’s a list of ideas for last-minute situations that range anywhere from ‘it’s-still-morning-so-I-have-some-time’ to… ‘dear-god-I’m-on-my-way-home-and-may-fake-the-death-of-a-relative-to-get-myself-out-of-this-mess.’

Plans For Vacation

Instagram Photo

All you need is a destination idea and a printer so you can provide something tangible. Tangibility is key. An email with pictures of a cottage and ski resort is obviously infinitely worse than printed pictures. So print out some nice pics and maybe throw in a few handwritten love notes in the margins. Something like, “Even in the snow, your moguls always keep me warm.” Or something better than that. Actually don’t do that one. You’re already on thin ice, pal.

Netflix / Hulu / Spotify Membership

Instagram Photo

In case you don’t have them already, any of these subscriptions would make a great, quick gift, and would be sure to get plenty of use. Let the likes of New Girl, The Office, Parks And Rec and unlimited feel-good music save you from your pending Valentines doom.

One Week Of Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, and Plated

Instagram Photo

There’s no immediate satisfaction with this one, but it works. It’s like making a treehouse with your special someone except if you could eat that treehouse. Building a hobby while bonding out the wazoo. There’s also super cheap first-week discounts for all three so buying one of each isn’t too pricey.

Edible Arrangements

Instagram Photo

Is this the most original option? No, of course not. That’s a silly rhetorical question, my friend. And while we’re at it – neither is Netflix and Blue Apron. The beauty lies in the effectiveness of these ideas. They work, they’re timely, and they’re almost so corny that it’s cool. Irony is so hot right now and Edible Arrangements last-minute gifts are no exception. This one would also pair very well with the final idea…

Homemade Dinner Adorned With Rose Pedals And Other Fancy Decor

Instagram Photo

This one takes a little more time but it’s simple enough and absolutely worth it. First, you need to get out of work early. Shoot your SO a text to the effect of, “Hey, I have a surprise for you so come home late.” Except be more creative and discrete. Everything else you need should be at the grocery store: flowers (dedicate half for pedaling purposes), a candle (flowers and a candle completes the “fancy decor” element), a card (something innocent and funny – classic example), the ingredients for a nice delicate lemon and ricotta spaghetti, Lindor Truffles, and wine. You’ll need two hours of prep time but it’ll make up for the 2 weeks of procrastination so I don’t wanna hear it.

Do one of these and you’re saved. Do all and you’re eternal.

Kari Jo Boll, a 31-year-old former West Central teacher who had sex with a student, was sentenced to prison on Monday, February 12.

Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student.
