By the grace of God, the Eagles have won a Super Bowl and now it’s time to celebrate. Millions are expected to line up Broad Street as Nick Foles, Fletcher Cox, Malcolm Jenkins, and the rest of the gang parade through Philly with the Lombardi. If Sunday night was any indication of what we can expect for Thursday then things are sure to get rowdy for the march down Broad as well.

It’s a good rowdy though. It’s a certain type of rambunctious joy that occurs when you dream about something for years then it finally comes to fruition. Like finding your one true love. You’ve read about it in the papers, seen it in the movies, and hell, you’ve even gotten close a couple times, but you never fully experienced it. Forever an observer on the sideline of a game where everyone wins but you. But then all of the sudden, in a most unexpected way, it happens. You can’t explain it – no one ever can – but one cold February night you walk into the corner store and you see someone. It turns out his name is NICK FOLES and he just took you and every other Philly fan to the promise land.

True love can blind anyone though. So if you’re worried about the cloudy judgment of millions of people during a parade that’ll be more like a long-awaited honeymoon, then simply follow these 5 rules. They’ll help you survive and, most importantly, enjoy the celebration that compliments a Super Bowl win.

1. Know The Chant

It happens to me every Christmas mass. It seems like everyone but me responds in perfect harmony and unison. I try to mumble along and get by, but the entire congregation knows I’m a square. A square who doesn’t know the hip chants and new church slang. So don’t be like me. Don’t be a square. Memorize this song that is sure to echo from Broad Street up to the gates of Heaven:

2. Wear Philly Stuff

It’s obvious but definitely worth a mention. Eagles, Flyers, Phillies, and Sixers attire will all do the trick. Even if you’re not a fan, be one for a day.  It’s a day of celebration, not a day to mark your territory on enemy ground. Don’t be the tough guy who insists on going but also insists on wearing their hometown, non-Philly jersey for fear of ego damage. Fair warning – if you choose to wear outsider apparel, expect some chirps. A lot of chirps. And remember, chirps only escalate if you chirp back. So even if you have a witty retort for a group of chirping Birds fans, it’s best to save it for a non-parade day. All that aside… just know that it’s always easier to suck it up and at the very least, wear neutral colors.

In similar news, be sure to bundle up because the high is supposed to be 30 degrees and the wind chill is going to feel more like 20. So wear a hat, scarf, gloves, and if possible, throw an Eagles jersey over top.

3. Drink Beer

Nothing brings folks together more than a few bud lights. Lucky for you, your first one will be free tomorrow. That should help give everyone a little head start in bonding. I know drinking may sound a bit counter-intuitive if your primary goal is to survive… But hey, as long as you’re not driving, crack open a cold one. A few beers can help put the mind at ease so you can fully embrace the celebration and relieve any crowd-induced anxiety. Also, do it because drinking is fun.

But what if you gotta go? No need to fret. The city is providing 850 porta-johns so you’ll be covered.

4. Eat Food

I wouldn’t dare go to war on an empty stomach for fear of low energy and crankiness. Super Bowl parades are no different. Keep your appetite in check and your mind clear by taking advantage of some special Philly restaurant deals in honor of the Eagle’s win. There will also be an estimated 40 food trucks along the parade route, and Shake Shack will be giving out free scoops of custard all day at its Center City, University City and King of Prussia locations. Nothing cures crankiness like custard.

5. Have An Exit Plan

Think of this parade as one big concert in a smallish venue. You enter. Do some singing and uncoordinated dancing. Then towards the end, you start planning your escape. You know it’s going to be a mad rush for the exit so it’s best to plan ahead. You can either sneak out early or wait until the crowd dies down after the show. The mad rush for all roads leaving Philly will be from 2-7pm. If you choose to leave in that timeframe then be prepared to zone out while slugging through traffic beside your fellow parade attendees. If traffic isn’t your cup of tea then leave before 2pm or saddle up somewhere and wait ’till the madness dies down.

After years of “what-ifs”, casting rumors, and developmental hell, a full-fledged Venom project is finally upon, with none other than Tom Hardy in the starring role.

While Sony doesn’t necessarily have an excellent track record with comic book films outside Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, the prospect of Tom Hardy playing the character of Eddie Brock/Venom alone has proved to be enough to pique (yes, that’s how it should be spelled) fan’s interest.

Unfortunately, the TEASER trailer itself doesn’t reveal much, most notably the full Venom look (probably saving that for Comic-Con). Still, it’s an intriguing tease at what could be a genuinely different, or truly horrible, comic book film. Only time will tell.

Venom is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Columbia Pictures and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is intended to be the first film in Sony’s Marvel Universe, which is not directly part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is being directed by Ruben Fleischer, from a screenplay by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner and Kelly Marcel, and stars Tom Hardy as the titular Venom. Michelle Williams also stars.

Development on a Venom film, a spin-off from the Spider-Man film franchise, first began with producer Avi Arad in 2007. After various iterations, the film was rumored to be R-rated in March 2017. The intention was to begin a new shared universe featuring the Marvel characters to which Sony possessed the film rights, though Sony also intends for the film to share the world of Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is set in the MCU because of a deal between Sony and Marvel Studios. Rosenberg and Pinkner were set to write, with Fleischer and Hardy added in May 2017. Filming began in October 2017, taking place in Atlanta, New York City, and San Francisco.

Venom is set to be released in the United States on October 5, 2018.

What is Mardi Gras?

Also known as Fat Tuesday or Carnival, Mardi Gras marks the day before Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent! Before a time of fasting and penance, it just makes sense to indulge yourself while you still can!

The New Orleans Mardis Gras celebration, if the name isn’t enough of a clue, has its origins with the French-Canadians. When explorer Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne Sieur de Bienville, the “Father of New Orleans,” came to the area, he even gave it the name “Pointe du Mardi Gras” after his crew realized the holiday was coming up. In time, the holiday became a staple in the area after he founded New Orleans in 1718.

Various symbols of the New Orleans celebrations include domino masks, beaded necklaces and various foods. One famous example of Mardi Gras cuisine is “king cake,” which often has a small plastic baby inside it for a guest to find it. In other words, it is one of the few times in life you’ll get to play with your food!

The Carnival season is also celebrated in other countries throughout Europe and the Americas. Yes, those parades in Rio are a close cousin to the Mardi Gras festivities. As you may have guessed, the holiday needs to take place on a Tuesday, so the exact date varies each year. For 2018, Mardi Gras falls on February 13.

That’s right! Mardi Gras is Tuesday the 13th this year! Which also means Valentine’s Day is also Ash Wednesday! I guess I have to cancel that date at the steakhouse!

Quincy Jones revealed many things in a personal interview recently. Jones talked about his opinions on music, the #MeToo movement, Michael Jackson and the talk of Oprah Winfrey should be running for Presidency. One of the things that he revealed in the interview with Vulture was that he knew that Marlon Brando had intimate relations with Richard Pryor. The hook-up news is no big shocker with all the sexual assault talk in Hollywood, especially surrounding Harvey Weinstein. At least this news states there was actual consent. They were two consenting men who were living it up and enjoying life.

In the interview, Jones randomly went from talking about dancing such dances as the Cha-Cha to stating that Brando had sex with anything. Jones even threw out some names. Jones specifically stated, “Marlon Brando used to go cha-cha dancing with us. He could dance his ass off. He was the most charming motherf#$%@ you ever met. He’d f%$# anything. Anything! He’d f&^*5 a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye.”

TMZ caught up with Pryor’s widow, Jennifer Lee Pryor in an exclusive interview. Jennifer Lee Pryor confirmed that Jones’ claims were accurate. Jennifer told TMZ that Richard would have no shame about Quincy’s comments. She says the Richard was always very open about his bisexuality with friends and documented it extensively in diaries. Jennifer says she’ll publish those diaries later this year.

Jennifer said, “It was the ’70s! Drugs were still good, especially quaaludes. If you did enough cocaine, you’d f*** a radiator and send it flowers in the morning.” She believes that her late husband would be hysterical laughing at the fact that Jones spilled the beans. Jennifer obviously feels that what happened between Brando and Pryor was all in good fun and there was nothing crazy about it.

Police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old Durham University student who died after she was crushed under a fence that was reportedly pushed over by crowds trying to get into a Durham nightclub.

According to witnesses, the unidentified woman, 20, became trapped under the barrier which had toppled over as partygoers tried to barge there way into the Missoula nightclub. BBC reports that a Durham Police spokeswoman said: “The circumstances surrounding her death are unclear at this time.” Multiple witnesses spoke to The Tab to describe the incident.

The Missoula nightclub declined to comment, citing the ongoing police investigation. Phoenix Security, which runs security for the venue, also declined to comment.

The Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Northwest, D.C. has been evacuated after a report of a suspicious package. The incident was reported around 11:30 a.m. Police are on the scene at this time. According to local officials, students were evacuated to Rose L. Hardy Middle School in the Northwest.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

The Duke Ellington School of the Arts is a high school located at 35th Street and R Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C., and dedicated to arts education. One of the high schools of the District of Columbia Public School system, it is named for the American jazz bandleader and composer Edward Kennedy “Duke” Ellington (1899–1974), himself a native of Washington, D.C. The building formerly housed Western High School. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Graduates of the school are prepared to pursue an artistic and theatric occupation. In addition to completing the traditional public school college prep curriculum, students must audition for and complete studies in one of the following artistic areas: dance, literary media and communications (L.M.C.), museum studies, instrumental music, vocal music, theater, technical design and production (T.D.P.), and visual arts (V.A.).

Of the things you probably shouldn’t do while tripping acid, getting naked and covering yourself in cooking oil is definitely towards the top of the list.

While everyone should be allowed to enjoy hallucinogenics as they see fit, it becomes a problem when you not only get naked and cover yourself in oil and also start attacking your family while doing so.

According to reports, Lonnie Beatty, 19, of New Apollo, Pennsylvania, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, following the incident which occurred in January.

Police say that Beatty had taken LSD on January 16 and then assaulted two women and three children in his home. When police arrived, Beatty tried to get back in the home and was shot with a stun gun, however, it didn’t seem to affect him.

A number of more serious charges were dropped after the alleged victims refused to testify or pursue charges against Beatty during his preliminary hearing Tuesday. Those charges were assault, recklessly endangering, terroristic threats, endangering the welfare of children and criminal mischief.

Police say the charges come after Beatty took the hallucinogen LSD, sometimes called acid, on Jan. 16 and lost control of himself before assaulting two women and their three kids. Court documents say Beatty “destroyed the house” before attacking the victims. According to police, the family dog bit Beatty in an attempt to protect the victims. Police say the victims hid in a bathroom before climbing out a window and hiding from Beatty in a parked car.

According to court documents, when police arrived at the home Beatty “came smashing out the front door naked only wearing one sock.” Police said Beatty was covered “in what appeared to be his own blood,” but that later turned out to be cooking oil.

Police say that because Beatty was covered in cooking oil, “attempts to gain control were difficult.” The victims told police Beatty was high on acid and that under normal circumstances “he would have never attempted to harm the kids.”

Beatty is currently free on bond.

In 1997, he branched out to create a musical show, Don’t Stop the Carnival, releasing an album of songs the following year.

2000-2009

In 2003, he partnered in a partial duet with Alan Jackson for the song, “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere”, a number-one hit that returned to his country roots. The song was popular enough to win the 2003 Country Music Association Award for Vocal Event of the Year. In 2005, he branched into radio with “Radio Margaritaville,” which features 24-hour music and live broadcasts of Buffett’s concerts. The following year, he released the album Take The Weather With You.

2010-Present

The University of Maryland has called a shelter in place has been called at after police say they are searching for an armed suspect in an off-campus robbery.

An off-campus incident was reported around 1 p.m. EST. Officers from PGPD and University of Maryland PD have responded and are searching for suspects on campus near the Chesapeake building and Paint Branch Dr.

Authorities are reportedly searching for a black male, with short bushy hair, wearing a hoodie, and who is armed with a handgun. At this time, the suspects are not in custody.

Police are asking anyone in the area to continue to shelter in place and to avoid the area and follow all public safety orders.

The NBA trade deadline is one of the most exciting times during the NBA season, you never know what will happen and who will get traded. We have already experienced some crazy trades during the off-season with Kyrie Irving to the Celtics, Paul George to the Thunder bringing Carmelo Anthony along with him.

Besides the Blake Griffin trade last month there have not been many trades during this season until just before noon. When at 11:56 a.m. the Cleveland Cavaliers shook things up by trading away Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye and a protected first-round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr (Born in Akron Ohio). Then the floodgates were open, the Cavs were not done as they would trade away four more players to get younger, athletic and add more shooting to their team.

After the trade for Clarkson and Nance, the Cavaliers constructed a three-team deal with the Utah Jazz and the Sacramento Kings. The trade sent three-point threat Rodney Hood and George Hill to the Cavs and saw Iman Shumpert go to the Kings, while Derrick Rose and Jae Crowder will go to the Jazz.

The most recent trade for the Cavs was sending LeBron’s best friend Dwyane Wade back to his former team the Miami Heat. The move was a more significant gain for Miami and their fans as they only sent back a 2020 protected second-round pick which will be sent off to the Sacramento Kings.

At the Beginning of the season, the Cavs looked to be prepared for their fourth match-up with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. Yes, they traded away Kyrie Irving, but they got back some great players in Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder plus the additions of Wade, and Derrick Rose seemed to be enough.

The East has not been as easy as many thought it would be, the Boston Celtics have flourished without their big free agent signing Gordon Hayward. The Raptors are playing great basketball and look like a significant threat to the Cavs continued success. While the Cavs, on the other hand, started out hot with a 13 game win streak. But within the last month have been terrible on defense and have gone 5-5 in their previous 10 games with many of the losses being blowouts.

It was clear Thomas has not reached maximum health from his back injury, and his outspoken attitude may have been a turnoff to many in the organization including King James. Many expected the Cavs to try and make a move for Deandre Jordan or Kemba Walker deals that can still be done within the hour, but no one expected this.

They traded away six players who were not making an impact on winning for four players who will help them immediately. In Clarkson, they get a young guard who can create his own shot averaging 14.4 points per game on 44% shooting from the field. He needs to improve on his three-point shooting, but with LeBron creating distractions he will be more open to hit threes. Nance gives them another athletic big to pair with Tristan Thompson (or DeAndre Jordan) to get after rebounds, play defense and provide some mid-range shooting that they lost with Kevin Love’s injury.

In Rodney Hood, they get another great shooter who has developed into a good scorer in the NBA averaging 16.8 points a game shooting 43% from the field and 39% from three. George Hill brings a veteran presence to a now much younger team. Hill has seen the playoffs with many teams from the Spurs, Pacers and even the Jazz last season. On a young team in Sacramento Hill was more of a scorer than a facilitator, as he was shooting 46% from the field and 42% from three. He becomes the immediate starting point guard and will help take the ball out of LeBron’s hand when he is facing double teams.

Who knows what else the Cavs have under their sleeves with less than an hour left for the trade deadline. They can pick up another veteran player after the deadline when teams buyout certain players. But one thing is for sure the Cavs got much younger and much better today for now and maybe for the future.

For a franchise and a character that has been nothing but bad news for the last three or four years, things may finally be turning in the right direction for the Joker and DC Comic-based movies.

According to Variety,  Academy Award-nominee Joaquin Phoenix is in talks to star as The Joker in Todd Phillips’ untitled, Martin Scorcese-producded Joker origin story.

However, unfortunately, insiders stressed that Jared Leto, who currently plays the Joker in the DCEU, is still portraying the character in that section of the cinematic universe. Simply put, Phoenix’s potential casting has absolutely no effect on Leto’s role. Yeah, it’s confusing.

While studio negotiations are not yet underway, Phillips has made it clear that Phoenix is the top choice to star and sources now tell Variety that, after thinking it over, Phoenix has agreed to the role. WB had no comment. Phillips is on board to co-write and direct the movie. Phillips had met with Phoenix before the new year and was just waiting for the studio’s go-ahead, sources say.

The movie would fall under a yet-to-be-announced new banner of DC Comics, which would give the studio the opportunity to expand the canon of the iconic comic-book characters with unique story angles that aren’t included in its current cinematic universe. Jared Leto most recently played the Joker in “Suicide Squad” and is likely to reprise that role in “Suicide Squad 2,” but will not be featured in this film. Rumors circulated that Leonardo DiCaprio was the first person approached to star in Phillips’ standalone film, though that didn’t pan out.

According to the reports, the film will delve into what it took for the Joker to become the clown prince of crime we all know and love today, with sources saying the story will take place in the ’80s and have “more of the look of a gritty crime drama than a comic-book movie.”

Let me just say, as a massive Batman fan … all of this is a horrible idea. What makes the character of the Joker so enthralling is his ambiguity — in fact, some Batman stories have wondered if the Joker is a manifestation of eternal evil — so putting a real name to the Joker’s iconic white face only undermines everything the character is actually about.

So, while I have absolutely no confidence in Warner Bros. competently pulling this movie off, Phoenix in the title role is certainly a step in the right direction.

Over the summer the NBA was full of chaos with trades we thought would never happen. We had the Cleveland Cavaliers trade point guard Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics for Isiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, and some other players. We also saw the Indiana Pacers trade superstar Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. The Thunder were not done as they would later trade for future Hall-of-Famer Carmelo Anthony. Those were just a few of the many crazy transactions that took place over the off-season.

Also during the off-season, the NBA made some changes to the rules one of which included changing the trade deadline from after the All-Star break to take place the week before. The NBA may be the best sport when it comes to trade deadline drama and excitement about who may get traded and which team will land a superstar.

Blake Griffin who had just resigned with the Los Angeles Clippers got traded to the Detroit Pistons late last month, that was the most significant trade until today at 12 noon. It was very quiet early on in the final day of the trade deadline until the Cleveland Cavaliers went on a rampage trading away six players and getting back four players in Rodney Hood, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr., and George Hill. The trade that landed them Clarkson and Nance saw the Cavs send Isaiah Thomas and Channing Frye to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Since the Cavs started the trades on the final day of the deadline, there were a few moves by other teams but nothing too major. As ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (Woj) reported early today on Twitter, many organizations are pulling out of trade talks and waiting to see who they can pick up in the post-deadline free agent pool with many buyouts coming.

Now that things have settled and the trade deadline is over let us take a look at some trades that should have happened.

4 Kemba Walker to the New York Knicks

Kemba Walker was born and raised in the Bronx, New York where he also played high school for legendary catholic highschool Rice. He played at the University of Connecticut when they were still in the Big East where he had some great memories in Madison Square Garden. The Hornets have been a disappointment this year, and it seems like they are looking to rebuild, and the most prominent way to do that would have been to trade their best player for some young assets and draft picks. The Knicks who have fallen hard from their fast start and just lost their best player in Kristaps Porzingis to a torn ACL. They would have loved to bring in another star to match with Porzingis next season. But as owner Michael Jordan said Kemba was not really on the trading block unless he was offered a very great deal something the Knicks probably could not provide.

3 Avery Bradley to the Spurs

Avery Bradley had a great season last year for the Boston Celtics may be the best of his career, but since being traded this off-season, things have not been the same. In the off-season, he was traded to the Detroit. He had a good start but was shipped off to the Los Angeles Clippers in a trade that got Blake Griffin to the Pistons. The Clippers are now looking to rebuild, and Avery Bradley is garnering some interest from many teams including the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs do not need to make a big splash, they currently sit 3rd in the Western Conference behind the Warriors and Rockets. Adding someone like Bradley would have helped them on the defensive end. He has always been a premier defender who at times can create his own shot. With Kawhi Leonard out indefinitely, Bradley would have been a great addition on the defensive side, and if and when Kawhi comes back he would be able to make some wide open shots.

Tyreke Evans to Any Team

Tyreke Evans is having a fantastic season thus far may be his best since his Rookie of the Year season. He has taken over the scoring from the guard position for Memphis since they lost point guard Mike Conley. He is averaging 19 points a game shooting 45% from the field and 39% from three-point range. With many injuries and some early dysfunction in the organization, Memphis has not been the team we all know and love. They are apparently in a small rebuild and would have made sense to try and trade to get some young players or draft picks. Tyreke Evans would have made a significant impact on many teams still in the playoff hunt who needs some more scoring. He was linked to the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Cleveland Cavaliers but as reported by ESPN’s Woj the Grizzlies may have been asking for too much to bite. We will see how things play out for Evans as teams will now start buying out specific players.

DeAndre Jordan to the Cavs

Once the Los Angeles Clippers traded away a franchise player in Blake Griffin, it was clear they have headed for a rebuild and that no one was safe. That included big man DeAndre Jordan who was linked to many teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Portland Trailblazers to name a few. Jordan is an excellent athlete with an unreal vertical and a great shot blocker. He would have been a great addition to the Cavs had they been able to pull it off. Since last years NBA Finals Tristan Thompson has fallen off as the energetic defender and rebounder, he was in years past. Jordan would have been an immediate upgrade at the position if it was able to take place. He would have been a huge help off the pick-and-roll with LeBron James and now George Hill to create opportunities at the rim. It was clear the Clippers wanted a lot for him, and rightfully so, he has been a fantastic player and has a lot of time left in his prime. Clearly, the Cavs moved on from Jordan and went down the road of adding some younger players who can help elsewhere.

Although the XXII Winter Olympics starts Wednesday, the opening ceremony doesn’t take place until two days later. Mike Tirico and Katie Couric will host coverage of the Opening Ceremony, which celebrates the official start of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang.

Renee Rine, a former Nevada math teacher, was arrested allegedly for having an inappropriate relationship with one of her students.

Rine, 36, who was teaching at West Career and Technical Academy, was arrested on Friday, January 26. She’s being held without bond at the Clark County Detention Center.

She faces five charges, including being a school employee in a position of authority engaging in sexual conduct with a pupil 16 or older, first-degree attempted kidnapping to engage in sex, lewdness with a child who is 14 or 15 years old, contact with a minor or mentally-ill person and child abuse or neglect.

The arrest was made after an investigation that was initiated at West Career and Technical Academy. The charges against Rine include one felony count of attempted kidnapping, one felony count of lewdness with a minor age 14 to 15, one gross misdemeanor count of child abuse, one felony count of sexual misconduct with people, and one gross misdemeanor count of unlawful contact with a minor.

According to a briefing video from the Clark County School District Police, the investigation began after students alerted staff they saw inappropriate text messages on a 17-year-old students cell phone. Police say during the 2015-2016 school year, Rine sent sexual pictures and sexual text messages to the student. Police say Rine tried to lure the student to a local hotel during that time.

CCSD Police Department investigation substantiated allegations that she had inappropriate contact with a student. Rine, who was hired by CCSD in August 2015, has been a math teacher at West Career and Technical Academy since that time.

Her employment with the Clark County School District is currently “assigned to home.”

This is the latest in a string of teacher sex scandals over the last couple of years. In November, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers was arrested. Former nutrition teacher LaToya Parker was also arrested for a relationship with a student. Florida teacher Caroline Lawson was charged with sexual assault. 26-year-old Allyson Moran was also arrested for similar crimes. The 23-year-old high school teacher Katherine Ross Ridenhour was also arrested for an inappropriate relationship.

Furthermore, Hunter Day, 22, was also arrested after a sting operation. Megan Kotarski was also arrested on similar charges. Michelle Schiffer, a 23-year-old history teacher in Texas, was also charged and arrested for allegedly having sex with a teenage student. 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy was arrested in Maryland for her crimes in New Jersey. Samantha Fitzgerland, a 28-year-old, was most recently arrested and charged. Jordan Ondish was arrested for her inappropriate relationship with a 19-year-old, while 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick was arrested on similar charges.

Nicole Marie Andrews was arrested as well. 32-year-old Jessica Langford was arrested and charged with sexual assault-related crimes as well. A teacher from Oregon, Andrea Baber, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.  Robin Dunlap, a teacher in Florida, was arrested for sending illicit photos to a 15-year-old boy in Texas. Teacher and tennis coach Jennifer Olajire-Aro was also charged. 42-year-old Heather Butts of California was arrested on a second-degree felony charge. Nancy Leigh Ann Brann, a former Christian school teacher, was arrested for having sex with a student. Coine Audiat pleaded no contest to having sex with a minor in 2016. 23-year-old Darci Lake was arrested for an inappropriate relationship.

Valeria Costadoni was also arrested due to a relationship with her student. 40-year-old Kisha Nuckols was arrested for having sex with a student, too. Hilary Dattilo, a 30-year-old Ohio high school teacher, has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a female student. 30-year-old Missouri teacher Elizabeth Morgan was also arrested on similar charges. Trisha Anderson Rogers, a 47-year-old former student teacher at a North Carolina middle school was sentenced to eight months in prison after pleading guilty to soliciting a young student for sex. 39-year-old Texas teacher Marisela Winn was also charged for her relationship with a student. Gabrielle Bauman who admitted to having a relationship with a student was only sentenced to probation. 29-year-old Dori Meyers has denied accusations against her about a relationship with an underage student.

The Tau Kappa Epsilon chapter at Indiana University has been suspended from campus for three years, joining five other fraternities and sororities currently on suspension.

The closure of the TKE chapter was announced on Thursday, February 9. The suspension means that all operations of the chapter will cease at the university for three years.

The university and TKE worked together on a joint investigation into violations of the fraternity’s bylaws and constitution, although it is unknown exactly what type of violations occurred.

Donald E. Aldrich, TKE’s Chief Executive Office, released a statement saying:

“We will not tolerate members whose actions do not represent the values and principles of Tau Kappa
Epsilon. The value of fraternity is being questioned daily and we are committed to both developing men at a high level and rooting out those with selfish intentions that are outside our mission. We believe this action is warranted as we uphold our standards and strive each day to build Better Men for a Better World.”

Indiana University also released a statement about TKE’s suspension:

“Indiana University supports the decision of the Tau Kappa Epsilon international board of directors to suspend the fraternity’s chapter on the Bloomington campus. The health, safety and wellbeing of our students is a top priority at IU. As soon as IU became aware of alleged activity at the fraternity house, the university initiated its own investigation. IU does not tolerate such behavior on campus, or in the course of any university activity, and will continue to work with the appropriate authorities and all members of the university community to stop it.”

TKE members who currently live in the chapter house will be provided information by the school about future housing options.

This is the latest fraternity suspension in the last year, as schools such as Indiana University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State have all suspended fraternities.

Aside from Le’Veon Bell, it may be somewhat of an arduous task to discover a running back that could contribute effectively as a starter in this year’s free agent class. However, there are actually several intriguing rushers that played extraordinarily well in the final year of their respective contracts. While the majority of these versatile playmakers may not necessarily be elite athletes or electric show stoppers (at least for now), they still possess the requisite skill sets needed to start for most NFL franchises. Even more important is the fact that most of these underrated running backs are 27 years of age or younger, suggesting that these professional athletes could very well rejuvenate their careers with the right team.

10. Damien Williams

With the departure of Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles late in the season, Damien Williams was quickly promoted to being the Dolphins go to receiving back. Averaging 7.8 yards per reception, Williams proved to be a speedy pass-catcher with solid hands. With a team that has a quarterback with a quick and accurate arm, Williams could thrive and become a nuisance for defensive backs to lockdown consistently.

9. Orleans Darkwa

Although it goes without saying that the best time for a talented player to play well is during the final year of their contract, Orleans Darkwa completely embraced the pressure of playing for a Giants team that was riddled with injuries. Setting career highs in rushing yards (751), rushing touchdowns (5), and yards per rushing attempt (4.4), Darkwa did everything and more to emphatically display his impressive skill set on a team that was largely terrible throughout most of the last year.

8. Alfred Morris

While the aging running back may no longer be the perennial 1,000-yard rusher he was when he was a member of the Washington Redskins, Alfred Morris is still effective and deadly when rushing between the tackles. On a team that is willing to give him a larger workload than he had with the Cowboys for the past two seasons, Morris could revitalize his NFL career to become a respected and trusted running back once again.

7. LeGarrette Blount

Despite being great at just one thing (rushing at the teeth of the defense with immense power), LeGarrette Blount’s limited yet intimidating skill set should still be coveted by NFL teams that need a tough-minded rusher. While his age is somewhat of a concern (31), he can still run well when in the open field (4.4 yards per rushing attempt) and has good enough hands to be sporadically effective as a pass-catcher.

6. Jeremy Hill

Between being slowly replaced by rookie running back Joe Mixon and being injured, Jeremy Hill had a fairly underwhelming season in 2017. However, when healthy, Hill is a highly productive red zone running back that is fearless and adept at finding the end zone on a consistent basis. He’s the not the flashiest playmaker in the NFL, but it’s hard to deny his exceptional production when is able to stay on the field.

5. Carlos Hyde

Although the hefty running back had a bit of a regression year in terms of yards per rushing attempt in 2017 (3.9), he actually improved immensely as a pass catcher, an area that he has somewhat struggled with in years past (350 receiving yards). Even though he struggles with being consistently productive, he is still young and talented enough to be an ample contributor to a team that is in need of his dynamic services.

4. Isaiah Crowell

While the drop off in touchdown production may appear to be somewhat concerning initially (seven rushing touchdowns in 2016, two in 2017), this was actually the result of running back Duke Johnson Jr. getting more looks in the passing game. Averaging over four yards per rushing attempt, Crowell proved that he could still be a threat as a pure rusher.

3. Jerick McKinnon

Considered a running back in terms of where he lines up, Jerikc McKinnon is actually much more effective and potent as a receiver. Averaging 8.3 yards per reception, McKinnon was the ideal check-down threat that was extremely difficult to stop once he had the ball in his hands. Given his impressive versatility and youth, McKinnon has a lot to offer a team that needs a security blanket for a game managing quarterback.

2. Dion Lewis

Underrated in the passing game (6.7 yards per reception) and especially deadly as a shifty and speedy rusher (six rushing touchdowns, five yards per rushing attempt), Lewis emphatically proved how valuable he could be when healthy (played in 16 games last season, played in just 14 games combined in previous two seasons). Given his athleticism and versatility, Lewis should be highly sought after as a dynamic playmaker that can do pretty much anything that is asked of him.

1. Le’Veon Bell

Amassing over 1000 rushing yards for nine rushing touchdowns to go along with 655 receiving yards, Le’Veon Bell is both shifty and deadly in the open field as a pass catcher. Although he will most likely get a deal done with the Pittsburgh Steelers when all is said and done, opportunistic franchises may be able to lure him away from the Steel City with a lucrative payday.
