Charlotte “Lottie” Moss, the younger sister of world-famous supermodel Kate Moss, is a 19-year-old model in her own right.

Moss, who was born on January 9, 1998, is the daughter of Peter Edward Moss and Inger Solnordal, making her Kate Moss’ half-sister. Kate Moss, 43, was discovered in 1988 at age 14 by Sarah Doukas at JFK Airport in New York City.

Moss appeared on the cover of Vogue Paris in 2016. Her first modeling campaign was with industry titan Calvin Klein. In 2015, Moss made her Paris Fashion Week debut, appearing in the Sonia Rykiel winter 2015 show. Lottie’s sister Kate also modeled for Calvin Klein during her career.

via The Sun:

At the age of 13 she took part in a test shoot for the agency which first launched Kate’s career, Storm Management, organised by her parents and Sarah Doukas – the woman who famously discovered Kate at JFK airport when she was on the way home from a family holiday in Bahamas back in 1988.

Her first official shoot was published in Teen Vogue, where she wore a chic red and white striped sweater with a red jacket, followed by her first full editorial in Dazed & Confused not long afterwards.

Lottie’s first campaign was for Calvin Klein no less, a black and white pictorial for a special exclusive line of nine items for MyTheresa.com.

Just a year later she made her catwalk debut at Paris Fashion Week, appearing in the Sonia Rykiel autumn/winter 2015 show, where she marched confidently down the runway in a printed velvet dress, black booties and a petite gunmetal handbag. She credits her old sister for inspiring her move into the world of fashion, she told Teen Vogue in 2014: “Well, it kind of runs in the family. Kate was a massive part of why I

At only 5 feet 5 inches tall, Lottie is not the same size as the traditional supermodel.

A Facebook post claiming to be written by a black Starbucks employee named Shanell Rivers from Atlanta is a fake, according to coffee company Starbucks. In the hoax post, Rivers writes, “When you work in Starbucks in Atlanta and did the following this week.” She then runs down a list of accomplishments that she achieved during that week of work, including putting “strawberry jam (on) a white man’s bagel” and spitting “in this old white ladies macchiato.” Starbucks called this post “completely false,” and “Starbucks does not have a partner (employee) by the name Shanell Rivers.”

What Happened?

Shanell Rivers: Full Story & Must-See Details On Starbucks Hoax

Facebook

A Facebook user with the name Shanell Rivers initially put up the hoax post on a group called “White People Vs Black People (The Original)”. This post was then screenshotted on 4chan with the title, “Let’s get her fired.” The post also showed up on a subreddit for Donald Trump supporters. Angry Twitter users went as far as to try and dox Shanell River who made the post but instead revealed the name, age, phone number and address of a woman with a similar name living in Atlanta.

In the post, Shanell Rivers claims to be a Starbuck employee from Atlanta who made a list of six things she purportedly did at work that week, including pocketing $94 and cleaning the table of a “white bitch” with a bathroom rag.

Starbucks has responded to the hoax following reports on Twitter and Facebook from people who were upset about the hoax post. The coffee company wrote on Facebook, “This post is completely false and created maliciously. Starbucks does not have a partner (employee) by the name Shanell Rivers. We are working with local authorities to determine how these fake posts were created and circulated.”

The coffee company also responded to the hoax post on Twitter, writing, “These posts are completely false and created maliciously. Starbucks does not have a partner (employee) by the name Shanell Rivers.”

Starbucks issued another response, writing,  “We do not have an employee by that name, and these screenshots are fake.”

The company later thanked several people who told them about the Shanell River posts, writing “We understand your concern and can assure you that this post is completely false and created maliciously. Starbucks does not have a partner (employee) by the name Shanell Rivers.”

Starbucks has already announced that they have contacted authorities regarding the hoax. Others on social media also tweeted the Atlanta Police and FBI Atlanta about the Shanell Rivers posts.

“Please investigate Shanell Rivers who works at @Starbucks in Atlanta. Admits to putting feces & blood into people’s food and drinks!” wrote one Twitter user.

Another tweeted, “Dear @Atlanta_Police, please note that this woman Shanell Rivers is admitting to past crimes and her intention to continue knowingly endangering the lives of customers based on their race. Possible hate crime.”

Who is Shanell Rivers?

Shanell Rivers is a name that appeared on a hoax Facebook post of a Starbucks employee from Atlanta. This fake post was shared throughout social media outlets on Sundays, purportedly a screenshot of a “black employee” of Starbucks who wrote a list of six terrible things she did at work that week, including putting “strawberry jam (on) a white man’s bagel” and spitting “in this old white ladies macchiato.”

Starbucks has called this Facebook post completely false and maliciously made. The coffee company also said that “Starbucks does not have a partner (employee) by the name Shanell Rivers.”

The Facebook account with the name and photo as the one in the screenshot is no longer available to the public. However, one of the photos appears in an unrelated Instagram profile. In a screenshot of another post, “Shanell Rivers” claims to be an ISIS supporter.

The viral Shanell Rivers Facebook post about Starbucks is a complete hoax.

College Basketball Power Rankings 2017: Week 10 Rankings

March Madness 2016 Winners

Upsets galore. Four out of the top five ranked teams in the country lost this past week, with all four of those losses coming at the hands of unranked opponents. While this week may have been chaotic for the perceived juggernauts in college basketball, it simultaneously paved the way for intriguing programs that are on the rise to take their rightful place at the top. The defensive-minded Virginia Cavaliers, in particular, made a strong case for themselves as being one of the best programs in the country. Dispatching both Virginia Tech and North Carolina this past week, the Cavaliers emphatically proved that an opportunistic defense and high-percentage shot taking is more than enough to overcome a lack of notable talent. Which team will be at the top of the college football rankings this week? Let’s find out.

1. Villanova Wildcats

By virtue of the two teams in front of them losing while beating Marquette last week, the Wildcats were able to reclaim the throne as the best team in college basketball. Although their finicky defense is somewhat of a concern (69.8 PAPG), it could be much worse overall and their highly productive offense has done a great job of covering up their defensive shortcomings (88.9 PPG).

2. West Virginia Mountaineers

After outscoring the top-tier offense of Oklahoma on Saturday, the Mountaineers have firmly asserted themselves as one of if not the most dynamically dominant programs in the country. While there is still a long a way to go until March Madness commences, it would be shocking to see the Mountaineers not obtain a one seed if they can continue to play this effectively on offense and defense.

3. Michigan State Spartans

Although getting blown out by a conference opponent is never ideal, the Spartans are still an elite program that can score and play defense at a top-tier level. While upsets do happen and should never diminish a well-balanced programs overall body of work, it will be compelling to see how the Spartans bounce back as they play a defensively sound Rutgers program next.

4. Virginia Cavaliers

While a loss to West Virginia a couple of weeks ago appeared to expose a glaring crack in Virginia’s game plan as an anemic offensive program, they have remarkably managed to maintain their dominant defensive ways without having to score on a consistent basis. With a win over a prolific offense in North Carolina, the Cavaliers have quieted all the doubters that suggested that their one-dimensional ways would not be enough to dispatch elite opposition.

5. Wichita State Shockers

Looking right at home in the American Atheltic conference, the Shockers have been sensational in conference play. Holding all three of their conference opponents to 63 points or less, the Shockers have emphatically asserted themselves as a stout defensive unit that can also score relentlessly and demoralize nearly any opponent that stands in their way (85.1 PPG).

6. Duke Blue Devils

Once again, Duke’s dreadful performance on defense cost them what should have been relatively easy win against NC State. What the Blue Devils have proven time and again this season is that no matter how much talent you have on your roster, it will ultimately never be enough to cover up poor defensive play. Luckily, the Blue Devils have defeated every ranked opponent they have faced, an impressive feat that will be sustainable if they do not become more effective on defense.

7. Purdue Boilermakers

With Michigan State losing on Sunday, the case can now officially be made for Purdue as the best team in the Big 10. Scoring 86.1 points per game and allowing just 63.3 points per game, the Boilermakers are a well-balanced and dominant program that has not shown any signs of slowing down. Allowing just one opponent to score more than 70 points against them during their 11-game winning streak, Purdue is well on its way to claiming the top spot in the country.

8. Arizona State Sun Devils

As long as the Sun Devils can score 85+ points per game, they will be one of the most exciting and productive programs in college basketball. However, when their offense takes the day off, their defense does not do nearly enough to carry them when they cannot hit perimeter shots. It’s a dangerous business living and dying by the three-point shot, but the Sun Devils have managed to persevere through their blatant weaknesses so far.

9. Xavier Musketeers

As is the case with college basketball teams that rely almost solely on a prolific offense, there will inevitably be moments where that type of scoring prowess falls flat. Although the loss to Providence was not pretty, it should hopefully be a wake up call for a program that is elite in every offensive category that matters.

10. Oklahoma Sooners

Unsurprisingly, the Sooners porous defense finally cost them a game to a reputable Big 12 opponent in West Virginia. Even with the best offense in the country at their disposal, the Sooners need to be at least half-way decent when it comes to defending the hoop. If nothing else, Oklahoma needs to discover a strong playmaker on their roster outside of Trae Young.

11. Texas Tech Red Raiders

With four wins against ranked opponents this season, the streaking Red Raiders have quickly emerged as an elite defensive program that can now score consistently enough to dispatch their respective opponents (81.1 PPG, 59.2 PAPG). With Oklahoma and West Virginia coming up next, the highly confident Red Raiders will get a grand opportunity to prove that they are the best team in the Big 12.

12. Kansas Jayhawks

Normally, giving up 85 points or more in a game would almost always result in a loss for an average college basketball program. Luckily, the Jayhawks are anything but average on offense (86.9 PPG) and have been able to defeat the likes of TCU and Texas as a result. With that being said, the Jayhawks will have to be dominant on both sides of the court if they hope to win the BIG 12 conference once again.

13. Arizona Wildcats

Despite a recent loss to Colorda, the Wildcats have largely looked like the competitive Pac-12 program they were supposed to be coming into this season. Although the unintimidating defense is still a problem (72.7 PAPG), their offense has been potent enough to allow them to beat the elite competition (83.8 PPG), with their recent victory over Arizona State being exhibit A.

14. Seton Hall Pirates

While it’s easy to heap praise on the likes of Villanova and Xavier for their electric and productive offenses, the Pirates have been a well-balanced program throughout the season that has lost just two games this season. Considering they are the only program in the Big East with a blemishless conference record, the Pirates have more than proven their worth as a top-tier team within their deep conference.

15. Cincinnati Bearcats

Undefeated in conference play (3-0) the physical defense of the Bearcats appear to be hitting its stride as they have held their last six opponents to 63 points or less. If Cincinnati can be slightly more prolific on offense (79 PPG), they could not only be the team to beat in the American Athletic Conference but could also become one of the elite programs in the country in the near future.

16. Miami Hurricanes

If the Hurricanes had taken care business in their two losses to opponents they should have beaten, they would be ranked right up there with the Cavaliers as having one of the deadliest and most potent defenses in the country. Still, Miami has overcome both ranked opponents they have faced this season (Minnesota, Florida State), suggesting that this program is more of a contender than a pretender in the ACC

17. Florida State Seminoles

While you could point to shoot out losses to Duke and Miami and rightfully discern that the Seminoles have no business in the top-25, a closer look at their overall statistics suggests that this program is a sleeping giant on the verge of waking up. Ranking 47th or better in the country in points, rebounds, and assists per game, the Seminoles only glaring weakness is an inconsistent defense, something that only needs to be slightly better for them to be truly competitive in the ACC.

18. North Carolina Tar Heels

Similar to their hated Rivals in the Duke Blue Devils, the Tar Heels are equally proficient when it comes to scoring and rebounding the basketball (82.6 PPG, 43.8 RPG), but struggle mightily when it comes to playing defense consistently (71.6 PAPG). While there is still a long way to go in conference play, the Tar Heels need to reevaluate their deficiencies and at least be average when it comes to defending the hoop.

19. Gonzaga Bulldogs

At some point in the near future, you would think the Bulldogs would get a promotion to at least a reputable Group of Five conference. Until then, Gonzaga will continue to cruise through the likes of Santa Clara and Pepperdine without receiving any recognition for their potent offense (89.9 PPG) and tremendous rebounding skills (40.9 RPG).

20. TCU Horned Frogs

Without a reputable defense, any college basketball program will be doomed to lose in devastating fashion at some point during the season. After just barely overcoming the Baylor Bears early last week, the Horned Frogs luck ran out as they eventually lost a shootout to Kansas on Saturday. If the Horned Frogs want to get back on track in the BIG 12, they must become more disciplined on the defensive end of the court, lest they become lost in arguably the most competitive conference in college basketball (75.1 PAPG).

21. Clemson Tigers

Although the Cavaliers are currently and rightfully considered the best defense in the country, the underrated Tigers are quietly making a name for themselves as serious defensive force (63.5 PAPG). Allowing just two opponents to score more than 70 points during their current 10-game winning streak, the Tigers are easily one of the most fundamentally sound and competitively consistent programs in the nation.

22. Kentucky Wildcats

While it’s unsurprising that a team rife with freshmen would have inconsistency issues from time to time, it’s definitely somewhat disconcerting when those immensely talented youngsters are unable to do enough to beat the lesser opposition. The talent is clearly there, but the overall team oriented continuity is clearly lacking thus far in the season.

23. Tennessee Volunteers

For every devastating loss the Volunteers have to an Auburn or Arkansas, they somehow manage to persevere and beat either a Kentucky or Wake Forest to keep themselves in the conversation as a competitive program. While their defensive issues need to be rectified if they hope to stay relevant in the SEC (69.9 PAPG), their explosive offense has certainly done more than enough to make them a respectable giant killer this season.

24. Baylor Bears

It’s certainly been a wonky season for the Baylor Bears. Simply put, the Baylor Bears have been one of the most inconsistent teams on offense and defense this season. Luckily, their rebounding prowess has been able to keep them afloat in a brutal Big 12 Conference (39.2 RPG), something that will have to continue in earnest until the Bears can establish some continuity in the other facets of their game.

25. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Since losing to Indiana a couple of weeks ago, the resurgent defense of the Fighting Irish has been nothing short of sensational during their five-game winning streak. Holding four out of their last five opponents to under 60 points, Notre Dame has mercilessly man-handled their respective opposition despite their offense being a bit inconsistent (79.8 PPG).

NBC Employees Are Reluctant To Go To South Korea For The Upcoming Winter Olympics

Where are the top three places in the world you wouldn’t want to go right now? Is the same island as Kim Jong Un one of them? So I thought (even though places like Iran and Somalia aren’t far off).

And apparently, you and I aren’t the only ones who feel that way, as reports indicate that NBC employees are hesitant to sign up for the Winter Olympics because they are “afraid to get nuked”.

Now, let’s think about this logically (somewhat logically, at least): first, an Olympic event does present a unique opportunity for a psychopath to launch a nuclear attack, no doubt about it. But, because it is the Olympics, it is a worldwide event, which means that if Lil Kim really did have the sack (he doesn’t) to attack an Olympic event, he would literally be waging war against the entire world, which, objectively, would be a ballsy endeavor. All the Little Rocket Man wants is to be left alone, and attacking an event that hosts the entire world is not a way to do so.

However, NBC staffers don’t seem to agree.

via Page Six:

NBC staffers are gun-shy about volunteering to work at the upcoming 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games, sources tell Page Six, because of tension in the region.

An insider told us that usually NBC staffers are enthusiastic about being sent to the games for work. But with the upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang — a remote South Korean city 40 miles south of the demilitarized zone that’s changed the capitalization of its name for the games, so as not to be confused with neighboring Pyongyang, North Korea — some workers are choosing to stay home.

“They usually all want to sign up for the Olympics, but they’re afraid to get nuked,” said a source. But another insider told us, “If NBC News employees have concerns about attending, they are not required to go, as was the policy with [the Rio Summer Olympics in 2016] and Zika fears.”

Kim Jong Un is an idiot but is he stupid enough to not only attack America but most of the world’s most powerful nations? Unlikely. Either way — you won’t catch me in either of the Koreas anytime soon.

Considering everything that transpired last week in college basketball, it’s safe to say that the waters became that much murkier in terms of trying to discern who the elite program are in college basketball. Although unpredictability and parity have been consistent hallmarks of college basketball for some time, being unable to confidently determine who has what it takes to compete and win consistently can be disconcerting for some fans. However, for those of us that are thoroughly entertained by the chaos that regularly permeates throughout the sport, each week brings exciting and emotionally strenuous contest that never fail to entertain die-hard fans. Once again, the Big 12 will take center stage this week as several ranked vs. ranked contest will be decisive in deciding the weekly kings of the competitively brutal conference.

This Is What Tommy Wiseau Was Going To Say If James Franco Didn’t Stiff Arm Him

NBC

Once a figure only known amongst movie geeks, Tommy Wiseau — the writer, director, producer and star of the cult hit The Room — is now legitimately famous thanks to James Franco.

Franco — the director, producer, and star of The Disaster Artist — won the Golden Globe Award last night for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical for his portrayal of Tommy Wiseau and invited the man himself on stage to accompany him in accepting the award.

As soon as Tommy got on stage, he went right to the microphone, making for a hilariously awkward moment as Franco was quick to cut him off. However, many people weren’t too pleased with Franco’s snubbing of Tommy, as almost everyone watching was curious as to what he was going to say.

Luckily, the Los Angeles Times was able to catch up with Tommy after the ceremony, asking him what he was going to say on that stage.

via Los Angeles Times:

And as for what he might have said if he spoke from the stage on Sunday night, even the oddball outsider Wiseau was able to read the room. His message would have been simply this, “If a lot of people loved each other, the world would be a better place to live.”

Then he added, “See ‘The Room,’ have fun, and enjoy life. The American Dream is alive, and it’s real.”

Tommy Wiseau — truly an enigma if there ever was one, but an endearing enigma at that.

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Georgia Bulldogs Live Stream: How to Watch The CFB National Championship Online

The Georgia Bulldogs face off against the Alabama Crimson Tide in an SEC showdown tonight for the College Football National Championship.

Alabama (12-1)  comes into this game after a dominating 24-6 win over defending National Champion Clemson. Alabama’s defense looked like it was playing against the scout team, limiting Clemson’s running game to a minuscule 1.9 yards per carry. If the Crimson Tide want to win this game they’re going to have to do the same to Georgia’s running game. This game features great running games and elite defenses, so what I think is going to decide this for the Tide is how well Jalen Hurts can throw the ball. He made some great passes in the game against Clemson, including a play where he untucked the ball and threw a wobbler to a wide open Calvin Ridley. The Tide defense is going to come to play and so will their running game, so if Hurts can put the hurt on Georgia with his legs and his arm then Alabama should cruise to a victory.

Georgia (13-1) won the SEC this year after a convincing win over Auburn and they also defeated Oklahoma in an 54-48 overtime thriller in the National Semi-Final. Georgia showed a lot of poise after falling down big early and being able to battle back and win! The most impressive person on the field was by far Jake Fromm, the true freshman didn’t seem rattled by the bright lights and large deficit and continued to make the plays required of him including a big drive at the end of regulation to tie the game and send it to OT. Can he do it again against a much better defense and on an even bigger stage? we’ll have to wait and see. He will rely heavily on those 2 dynamic backs they have in Sonny Michel and Nick Chubb, They were actually the number one rushing tandem of all time this year in college football. They ran for a combined for 326 yards and 5 touchdowns against Oklahoma including 41 yards and another TD receiving. They will need a similar effort from both backs against Bama if they want to win the title.

As conference play continues to ramp up, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to determine who are the elite programs and which teams are overrated pretenders. While there will never be a simple answer to the aforementioned issue, the unpredictability of college basketball is what makes this sport an incredibly exhilarating and enjoyable viewing experience night in and night out. For now, the Big 12 is currently the best conference in college basketball as five teams from the conference are currently ranked in the top-16 according to AP Poll. With that being said, several programs from the Big 12 will go to battle against each other this week, which should allow the cream to rise to the top and clarify the state of competition in the wide-open conference. Beyond that, the ACC and the Big 10 will look to compete valiantly against each other this week in an attempt to elevate their respective statuses as being the most competitive conferences in the nation.

Texas A&M Aggies vs. Kentucky Wildcats (21)

After winning their first seven games of the season, the now downtrodden Aggies have been the unfortunate victims of costly injuries and untimely suspensions. Even when DJ Hogg and Adom Gilder have been in the starting lineups for the Aggies, this teams propensity when it comes to turning the ball over has severely hurt their chances of winning essential games down the stretch (14 TPG). Although the Wildcats have not dealt with injuries or off the field issues like the Aggies have, they have been victims of their cocky youthfulness in a few games this season. For every 29-point win the Wildcats have over a competitive program such as Louisville, they also have a head-scratching loss to a talent depleted team such as UCLA. As a result, this contest is particularly difficult to prognosticate as both teams have gone through bouts of being wildly inconsistent. However, the Wildcats have the slight advantage in this contest as their impressive athleticism and elite coaching should propel them to a much-needed victory over a dazed and confused Aggies program.

Final Score: Aggies 74 Wildcats 78 Spread:

Texas Tech Red Raiders (8) vs. Oklahoma Sooners (9)

Without question, this has been the year of the Red Raiders. After finishing with a poor conference record of 6-12 last season, the Red Raiders already have three such wins this year with two of them coming against ranked opposition. While their soul-crushing defense has been great throughout this season, it has been their progressive development of their now prolific offense that has allowed this program to dispatch elite programs within their conference (81.1 PPG). Conversely, the Sooners are almost always perennial competitors within the Big 12 and have made it abundantly clear that they intend to outshoot their opponents rather than play defense in any way, shape or form. Impressively, this one-dimensional style of play has only cost the Sooners two games this season, which is thanks largely in part to the MVP caliber play of sensational playmaker Trae Young (29.4 PPG, 10.2 APG). While you cannot dimish the gifted offense of the Sooners, the Red Raiders are not beholden to any one athlete and are proficient at forcing turnovers (nine SPG), which is the only area where the legendary Young Struggles (4.5 TPG).

Final Score: Red Raiders 82 Sooners 78 Spread:

Purdue Boilermakers (5) vs. Michigan Wolverines

Say what you will when it comes to the Big 10’s struggles as a conference, but that notion in no way applies to what the red-hot Boilermakers have accomplished this season. Since losing back-to-back contests to Tennessee and Western Kentucky earlier in the season, the Boilermakers have gone on to win 11 games in a row, holding all but one of those opponents to under 70 points scored. With four of their five starters scoring double-digit points per game while pulling down at least four rebounds per game, this is a physical team that plays the boards with ease and is always looking to take high-percentage shots on offense (50.2 FG%). Although the Wolverines have struggled to be effective on offense (76.9 PPG), their severely underrated defense has been spectacular this season as they have held their last seven opponents to under 70 points scored. However, while the Wolverines are capable of scoring in bunches and move the ball decently well (16.4 APG), they do not have the big bodies or deadly shooters needed to overwhelm and defeat a well-rounded program like Purdue.

Final Score: Boilermakers 79 Wolverines 70 Spread:

Xavier Musketeers (10) vs. Villanova Wildcats (1)

For a program that does very little when it comes to playing defense (72.2 PAPG), the Musketeers have been incredible in every way that matters on offense. Scoring 85.6 points per game while rebounding the ball 40 times per game, the Musketeers are tenacious and precise when it comes to making the most out of their opportunities on offense. While the Wildcats are not known as an intimidating gang of physical rebounders (35.3 RPG), they more than makeup for it with a plethora of sharpshooters (51.4 FG% as a team) led by Jalen Brunson (19.4 PPG) and Mikal Bridges (17.8 PPG). Although the prolific offense of the Wildcats should not be underestimated, the Musketeers proficiency at garnering rebounds consistently will deprive Villanova of the offensive opportunities they need to outscore their respective opponents.

Final Score: Musketeers 87 Wildcats 81 Spread:

Oregon State Beavers vs. Arizona Wildcats (17)

Outside of Arizona and Arizona State, it has been decisively underwhelming season thus far for the Pac-12. However, the defensively sound albeit offensively inconsistent Beavers have played well in their last five games as they have held all but one of those opponents to less than 70 points scored. Unfortunately for Oregon State, their lack of ball security skills has prevented them from closing out tight games as four of their five starters turn the ball over at least 1.7 times per game. Despite not having a decent defense to fall back on, the offensively gifted Wildcats have fearlessly and effectively shot the ball well from the field (50.4 FG%) and three of their five starters are currently scoring 15 points or more per game. Although the Wildcats have been prone to relinquishing wins to clear underdogs, the Beavers turnover issues will ultimately allow the Wildcats to win a close contest even if their offense fails to perform at a high level.

Final Score: Beavers 73 Wildcats 76 Spread:

Michigan Wolverines vs. Michigan State Spartans (4)

Although this highly anticipated contest may not have the cache that it has had in years past, any affair that pits two hated rivals against each other almost always results in a very close and contentious conclusion. With a top-12 ranked defense, the Wolverines have been able to win fairly consistently even when their up and down offense has gone cold (77 PPG). With Charles Matthews (15.6 PPG, 56.7 FG%) and Moritz Wagner (14.1 PPG, 55.6 FG%) being the Wolverines only consistent high-percentage shooters, it is paramount that both of these athletes play at a high-level if they hope to topple a highly versatile Spartans program. Speaking of which, the Spartans have rarely faltered this season, with their most recent loss to Ohio State being the only time Michigan State has looked out of sorts. Scoring 86.5 points per game while holding their respective opponents to 62.5 points per game, the Spartans have consistently been able to implement their impressive game plan on both sides of the court. This will certainly be a physical and close contest throughout, but the Spartans simply have more playmakers and a proven defense that will do enough to win this game in the waning minutes of the second half.

Final Score: Wolverines 70 Spartans 75 Spread:

TCU Horned Frogs (16) vs. Oklahoma Sooners (9)

With two offenses that will continue to shoot until the final buzzer sounds, this contest between TCU and Oklahoma will be a high-scoring affair that will most likely come down to who has the ball last. Averaging 19.7 assists and 86.9 points per game, the Horned Frogs are a cerebral offense that is designed to find the open man regardless of where they are positioned on the court (50.5 FG%, 40.3 3P% as a team). It also helps that the Horned Frogs are physical enough to play the boards effectively to garner extra opportunities to score more points (38.1 RPG). However, as great as the offense for TCU is, the Sooners are far and away the best shooting team in the country (94.4 PPG). Equally as efficient at shooting the basketball from a percentage standpoint as the Horned Frogs, the X-factor for the Sooners is unquestionably the playmaking and gracefulness of Wooden Award front-runner Trae Young. As both defenses have been largely ineffective this season, this contest will come down to who can put up the most shots. Fortunately for the Sooners, they will have the best player on the floor in Young, a vital contributor that will do more than enough to provide his team with a shootout victory.

Final Score: Horned Frogs 89 Sooners 93 Spread

Creighton Blue Jays (25) vs. Xavier Musketeers (10)

Seemingly, every time the Blue Jays find a way to break back into the top-25, they ultimately lose a competitive shootout that slightly demotes them to a position of a team on the outside looking in. Still, Creighton has effectively maintained a fast-paced and prolific offense that has rarely faltered even in their losses (90.2 PPG, 19.9 APG). Comparatively speaking, the Musketeers are nearly identical to the Blue Jays in terms of their over-reliance on a gifted offense that is predicated on scoring points quickly. Normally the best rebounding team in most contests they participate in, the Musketeers are actually neck and neck with the Blue Jays in that particular department (Blue Jays: 40.1 RPG, Musketeers: 40 RPG). Undoubtedly, this is an evenly matched contest that could go either way, but the Blue Jays have been playing a bit better defensively as of late and should be able to get enough stops and rebounds to eventually win this contest.

Final Score: Blue Jays 83 Musketeers 80 Spread:

West Virginia Mountaineers (2) vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders (8)

Arguably the most important and competitive contest of the week, the top two teams in the Big 12 will go to battle to determine who deserves to be the clear leader in the conference this week. Since losing their first game of the season to Texas A&M, the Mountaineers have been tremendous as both a high scoring offense (84.5 PPG) and a suffocating defense that has worn their opponents with a frustratingly effective full-court press (65.7 PAPG). However, from a statistical standpoint, the defense of the Red Raiders has actually been much better than that of the Mountaineers (59.2 PAPG). Furthermore, Texas Tech has been able to transform from a defensively reliant unit to a proficient offense that can score with the big boys in the nation (81.1 PPG). While both teams are gifted on offense and defense, the Red Raiders appear to be ever so slightly better on defense, a critical albeit slim advantage that will allow them to win this incredibly important contest at home.

Final Score: Mountaineers 76 Red Raiders 77 Spread:

Miami Hurricanes (18) vs. Clemson Tigers (19)

A notable ACC contest that does not feature Duke, North Carolina or Virginia, the under the radar but an ever important matchup between Miami and Clemson should an exciting defensive grudge match to behold. Although the Hurricanes have struggled mightily when it comes to scoring the basketball consistently (73.8 PPG), they have usually been able to overcome this deficiency thanks to a formidable defense that never quits (59.9 PAPG). Although Clemson is slightly better when it comes to shooting the basketball (77.9 PPG) they are just as reliant on their stout defense as the Hurricanes are to win close match ups over elite opposition (63.5 PAPG). While it may not always be pretty, this will certainly be a close contest that will see the streaking Tigers win down the stretch thanks to their marginally better passing game (14.3 APG).

Final Score: Hurricanes 67 Tigers 69 Spread:

David Bowie Net Worth 2018: How Much Is David Bowie Worth Now?

David Bowie was an English singer, songwriter, and actor. He was a leading figure in popular music for over five decades, acclaimed by critics and other musicians for his innovative work. His career was marked by reinvention and visual presentation, his music and stagecraft significantly influencing popular music.  Although he passed away on January 10, 2016, at 69 years old, he impacted several people around the world with his love for music.

David Bowie’s Net Worth 2018: $230 Million

David Bowie, over the course of his career, released 26 studio albums and 120 singles. In fact, 61 made the Top 40 charts while five of which went to No.1. Bowie would make more than he had back in 2016 if he were alive today; however, since his death, his net worth has been a whopping $230 million.

1962-1967

Instagram Photo

In 1962 Bowie formed his first band at the age of 15. Dissatisfied with his stage name as Davy (and Davie) Jones, which in the mid-1960s invited confusion with Davy Jones of the Monkees, Bowie renamed himself after the 19th-century American pioneer James Bowie and the knife he had popularised. His April 1967 solo single, “The Laughing Gnome”, using speeded-up thus high-pitched vocals, failed to chart. Released six weeks later, his album debut, David Bowie, an amalgam of pop, psychedelia, and music hall, met the same fate. It was his last release for two years.

1968-1988

Dressed in a striking costume, his hair dyed reddish-brown, Bowie launched his Ziggy Stardust stage show with the Spiders from Mars—Ronson, Bolder and Woodmansey—at the Toby Jug pub in Tolworth on 10 February 1972. The show was hugely popular, catapulting him to stardom as he toured the UK over the next six months and creating, as described by Buckley, a “cult of Bowie” that was “unique—its influence lasted longer and has been more creative than perhaps almost any other force within pop fandom.” The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972), combining the hard rock elements of The Man Who Sold the World with the lighter experimental rock and pop of Hunky Dory, was released in June. “Starman”, issued as an April single ahead of the album, was to cement Bowie’s UK breakthrough: both single and album charted rapidly following his July Top of the Pops performance of the song. The album, which remained in the chart for two years, was soon joined there by the 6-month-old Hunky Dory. At the same time the non-album single “John, I’m Only Dancing”, and “All the Young Dudes”, a song he wrote and produced for Mott the Hoople, were successful in the UK. The Ziggy Stardust Tour continued to the United States.

Station to Station (1976), produced by Bowie and Harry Maslin, introduced a new Bowie persona, “The Thin White Duke” of its title-track. Visually, the character was an extension of Thomas Jerome Newton, the extraterrestrial being he portrayed in the film The Man Who Fell to Earth the same year. Developing the funk and soul of Young AmericansStation to Station’s synthesizer-heavy arrangements prefigured the krautrock-influenced music of his next releases.

Scary Monsters and Super Creeps (1980) produced the number-one hit “Ashes to Ashes”, featuring the textural work of guitar-synthesist Chuck Hammer and revisiting the character of Major Tom from “Space Oddity”. The song gave international exposure to the underground New Romantic movement when Bowie visited the London club “Blitz”—the main New Romantic hangout—to recruit several of the regulars (including Steve Strange of the band Visage) to act in the accompanying video, renowned as one of the most innovative of all time. While Scary Monsters used principles established by the Berlin albums, it was considered by critics to be far more direct musically and lyrically. The album’s hard rock edge included conspicuous guitar contributions from Robert Fripp, Chuck Hammer and Pete Townshend. As “Ashes to Ashes” hit number one on the UK charts, Bowie opened a three-month run on Broadway on 24 September, starring in The Elephant Man.

1989-1998

Bowie shelved his solo career in 1989, retreating to the relative anonymity of band membership for the first time since the early 1970s. A hard-rocking quartet, Tin Machine came into being after Bowie began to work experimentally with guitarist Reeves Gabrels. The line-up was completed by Tony and Hunt Sales, whom Bowie had known since the late 1970s for their contribution, on bass and drums respectively, to Iggy Pop’s 1977 album Lust For Life.

In 1993, Bowie released his first solo offering since his Tin Machine departure, the soul, jazz and hip-hop influenced Black Tie White Noise. Making prominent use of electronic instruments, the album, which reunited Bowie with Let’s Dance producer Nile Rodgers, confirmed Bowie’s return to popularity, hitting the number-one spot on the UK charts and spawning three Top 40 hits, including the Top 10 single “Jump They Say”.

1999-2012

On 25 June 2000, Bowie made his second appearance at the Glastonbury Festival in England, playing 30 years after his first. On 27 June, Bowie performed a concert at BBC Radio Theatre in London, which was released in the compilation album Bowie at the Beeb, which also featured BBC recording sessions from 1968 to 1972. Bowie and Iman’s daughter was born on 15 August.

Bowie was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award on 8 February 2006. In April, he announced, “I’m taking a year off—no touring, no albums.” He made a surprise guest appearance at David Gilmour’s 29 May concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The event was recorded, and a selection of songs on which he had contributed joint vocals were subsequently released. He performed again in November, alongside Alicia Keys, at the Black Ball, a benefit event for Keep a Child Alive at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. The performance marked the last time Bowie performed his music on stage.

2013-2016

Instagram Photo

On 8 January 2013 (his 66th birthday), his website announced a new album, to be titled The Next Day and scheduled for release 8 March for Australia, 12 March for the United States and 11 March for the rest of the world. Bowie’s first studio album in a decade, The Next Day contains 14 songs plus 3 bonus tracks. His website acknowledged the length of his hiatus. Record producer Tony Visconti said 29 tracks were recorded for the album, some of which could appear on Bowie’s next record, which he might start work on later in 2013. The announcement was accompanied by the immediate release of a single, “Where Are We Now?”

In August 2015, it was announced that Bowie was writing songs for a Broadway musical based on the SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon series. Bowie wrote and recorded the opening title song to the television series The Last Panthers, which aired in November 2015. The theme that was used for The Last Panthers was also the title track for his January 2016 release Blackstar which is said to take cues from his earlier krautrock influenced work. According to The Times: “Blackstar may be the oddest work yet from Bowie”. On 7 December 2015, Bowie’s musical Lazarus debuted in New York. His last public appearance was at opening night of the production.

Blackstar was released on 8 January 2016, Bowie’s 69th birthday, and was met with critical acclaim. Following his death on 10 January, producer Tony Visconti revealed that Bowie had planned the album to be his swan song, and a “parting gift” for his fans before his death. Several reporters and critics subsequently noted that most of the lyrics on the album seem to revolve around his impending death. The day following his death, online viewing of Bowie’s music skyrocketed, breaking the record for Vevo’s most viewed artist in a single day. On 15 January, Blackstar debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart; nineteen of his albums were in the UK Top 100 Albums Chart, and thirteen singles were in the UK Top 100 Singles Chart. Blackstar also debuted at number one on album charts around the world, including Australia, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand and the US Billboard 200.

Top 25 College Basketball Rankings 2018: Week 10 AP Poll

SATURDAY (ESPN | 7:00 PM EST)

With all of the upsets that occurred this week, it’s completely unsurprising that there was an immense amount of shakeup from top to bottom in the AP Poll. With top-five programs such as Duke, Michigan State, Xavier, and Arizona State all succumbing to their respective opponents this week, the new kings of college basketball look decidedly different than they did last week. Most notably, the defensively stout Virginia Cavaliers moved up five spots from eighth to third. Beating both Virginia Tech and an offensively sound North Carolina program, the fundamentally sound and resilient Cavaliers proved emphatically that their reliance on an elite defense is more than enough to dispatch the perceived juggernauts in college basketball.

Top 25 College Basketball Rankings 2018: Week 10

After losing out last week, the once intimidating and physical Texas A&M Aggies dropped out of the rankings completely after being ranked 11th in the country only a week ago. On the bright side, the one loss Auburn Tigers finally forced their way into the AP Poll. Winning back to contests against Arkansas and Tennesse, the Tigers garnered the impressive wins that they needed to be ranked in the top-25 for this week. Although many of the lower ranked SEC teams have struggled to hold their place in the coveted AP Poll rankings, the high-octane offense and elite rebounding capabilities of the Tigers could allow them to not only remain ranked for weeks to come but could also allow them to ascend slowly but surely to new heights this season.

Ranking Team (1st place votes)
1  Villanova (52)
2  West Virginia (12)
3  Virginia (1)
4  Michigan State
5  Purdue
5  Wichita State
7  Duke
8  Texas Tech
9  Oklahoma
10  Xavier
11  Arizona State
12  Kansas
13  Seton Hall
14  Cincinnati

18  Miami
19  Clemson
20  North Carolina
21  Kentucky
22  Auburn
23  Florida State
24  Tennessee
25  Creighton

With numerous top-ranked programs losing this week, it was inevitable that most of the elite programs in college basketball would be punished with ranking demotions in varying degrees. The biggest drop among the well-known teams was North Carolina’s drop from 12 to 20th in the AP Poll. While it is still early in conference play, the Tar Heels need to establish a stronger defensive presence if they hope to reap the benefits of their gifted and prolific offense.

Dropped from rankings: Notre Dame 121, Florida 85, Texas A&M 62, Ohio State 29, Rhode Island 7, Michigan 5, Baylor 2, Nevada 2, New Mexico State 1, Georgia 1, Arkansas 1
Others receiving votes that did not make the poll: Texas A&M 11, Arkansas 22

Towards the end of his life, David Bowie produced two groundbreaking albums and a musical. While many documentaries would look at an artist from the very start, the HBO documentary, David Bowie: The Last Five Years, took inspiration from Bowie reinventing his career towards his last few years and made it the focus.

This isn’t to say that director Francis Whately entirely ignored Bowie’s early life. In fact, the piece is intended to be a follow-up to his previous 2013 documentary, David Bowie: Five Years, reflecting the artist’s life during the 1970’s and early 1980’s.

As mentioned, three major projects are the focus this time around: Bowie’s last two albums, The Next Day and Blackstar, and the musical, Lazarus, inspired by the 1976 film The Man Who Fell to Earth, in which Bowie appeared in.

Viewers can also expect to see excerpts from Bowie hits like “Fame,” “Rebel Rebel,” “‘Heroes’” and “Space Oddity,” as well as music and studio performances from the final projects.

In an interview with Variety, Whately described the inspiration for the project, realizing that Bowie’s last years often got ignored by the mainstream:

“When David passed away, the BBC showed the full 90-minute version of [“Five Years”] — which I gather has been seen by 100 million people, which is incredible — and they asked if we could do something new. At first I thought, ‘I don’t know whether there’s anything new to be done,’ but then I thought the last five years of his life were fairly fascinating and I didn’t think anyone else would approach that. The BBC gave me carte blanche, really, to make the film I wanted to make — but yes, it was tricky.”

With Whately serving as director, Phil Dolling serves as executive producer and Ged Murphy serves as the film editor on the project.

Stories like this pop up all the time when it comes to major Hollywood success stories.

Jesse from Breaking Bad was supposed to die in the first season, but once Vince Gilligan saw Aaron Paul’s talented, they decided to keep him around.  Jack from Lost was supposed to be killed off during the pilot for “shock value”. Hell, even Star Wars screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan considered killing off Han Solo halfway through Return Of The Jedi to raise the stakes.

Point being, these creative types never really have a concrete plan — they just write shit down and hope for the best.

And as it turns out, the Duffer brothers, the dudes who created Stranger Things, are the same way, as they had zero clue their show would turn into the cultural phenomenon that it has become, evidenced by the fact that they had originally planned to kill off Eleven (AKA the main reason everyone is obsessed with the show in the first place).

via CinemaBlend:

Ross Duffer revealed that Eleven was originally supposed to stay dead when she sacrificed herself at the end of Season 1:

“Maybe I shouldn’t say this because I like to pretend that it was all planned out, but it was originally pitched as a limited series. So it was like, Eleven was gonna sacrifice herself and save the world and then that was gonna be it, because there was a moment where limited series were a big deal.”

What saved Eleven was that Netflix didn’t want Stranger Things to be a limited series. Duffer continued:

“This is where the business side comes in. When we started pitching it it was like ‘we don’t make money off of limited series.’ And I remember when we went into Netflix and we pitched this they were like ‘well, we like this but how could it keep going?’ And you’re just sort of riffing in the moment and we were like ‘well Will’s back from this other dimension and he’s not doing very well.’ And they were like ‘great!'”

So instead, Season 1 ends with a little tease about Eleven’s potential return, and Season 2 quickly reveals that Eleven didn’t stay in the Upside Down for long.

While it’s easy to understand the decision making behind killing off Eleven initially, the fact that the Duffer Brothers didn’t have an inkling that their show would be a massive hit is everything you need to know about the nature of life.

Love Magazine

Okay, so, we guess LOVE Magazine has completely thrown their “Stay Strong” theme out of the window because this is like the 12th day in a row where the video has absolutely NOTHING to do with their supposed them. After a month straight days of some of the world’s most famous women exercising in some way, shape, or form, LOVE has now dropped a couple of curveballs that don’t relate to exercise in the slightest.

All that said, I still absolutely *love* (wink wink) LOVE Magazine’s Advent Calendar, no matter what the theme may be, especially when Alessandra Ambrosio is involved.

Appearing in Day 9 of January of LOVE Magazine’s always spectacular (seemingly never-ending) advent calendar, Alessandra Ambrosio’s video is a departure from the previous exercise inspired videos. But just because it’s different, doesn’t mean it’s worse, especially considering that Ambrosio is involved.

We have no idea when LOVE Magazine plans on ending their Advent Calendar, but at this rate, we don’t care. If they want to release a video of the world’s most beautiful women doing something bizarre every day for a year, that’s just fine with us.

As Ambrosio says, live long & prosper.
