Florida State is a heavy favorite against the Golden Eagles in this bowl matchup. If Southern Mississippi is to score a wild upset, quarterback Kwadra Griggs must avoid making mistakes against the Florida State defense. Griggs has thrown 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions all season. Running back Ito Smith has rushed for 150 yards or more in each of the last three games, but doing so against Florida State may be difficult.

Iowa vs. Boston College Live Stream: How to Watch Pinstripe Bowl Online

In the second set of weekday bowl games, there is a game between two defensive-minded teams. These teams are the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Boston College Eagles. Both teams had average expectations this season and managed to fulfill those expectations by qualifying for a decent bowl game. Now, both teams will want to add a bowl victory to their resumes in what should be a very close game.

Iowa’s success is due to star quarterback Nathan Stanley. So far this season, Stanley has thrown for 25 touchdowns and only six interceptions along with over 2,300 yards passing. Stanley was a huge factor in his team’s victory over top ten foe Ohio State as he threw for 226 passing yards and five touchdowns against the Buckeyes back in November. Assisting Stanley is running back Akrum Wadley. This season, Wadley ran for over 1,000 yards and had nine rushing touchdowns. With 20 degree weather in the Bronx, expect the Hawkeyes to use their senior running back early and often in order to potentially win this contest.

Boston College’s success was primarily due to its strong defense and running game. This season, Boston College’s defense allowed 22.5 points per game which ranked 36th in all of college football. Furthermore, its defense averaged 2.1 takeaways per game which is the 16th best in all of college football this season. However, its defense could not originally compensate for the team’s inconsistent offense when starting quarterback Anthony Brown suffered a season-ending leg injury. Eventually, the Eagles relied heavily on its star running back AJ Dillon who carried the team offensively down the stretch. This season, Dillon ran for 1,432 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. If Boston College plans on winning this contest, expect Dillon to touch the ball frequently throughout the contest.

As for my prediction, I have to side with Boston College. Both teams play extremely similarly which should make for an extremely competitive game. However, Boston College won five out of its last six regular season games and is clicking at the right time. I expect Dillon to have another big game as Boston College wins this extremely low scoring contest.

Famed actor Val Kilmer just recently opened up about his tough struggle with throat cancer, and he told the media that it changed his outlook and fame and life. Val Kilmer has had a reasonable amount of success in Hollywood for over three decades now, he is most famous for his roles in the films “Top Gun”, “Heat”, and “Batman Forever”. Val’s substantial success in Hollywood over the last thirty plus years gave him the ability to be featured in big time Hollywood blockbusters, TV movies, and animated movies.

Val Kilmer’s Net Worth as of 2017: $25 Million

Val’s long journey from the Broadway stage in the early 80’s to the big screen gave him the opportunity to make $25 million dollars U.S.D. . His early days on Broadway helped him get gigs on TV movies and big time blockbuster films.

Now lets check out how Val Kilmer became such a success story on the big screen….

1959-1981

Instagram Photo

Val Kilmer was Born in Los Angeles, California on the last day of the 1950’s decade (yes, he was literally born on December 31st, 1959). In his youth he attended Barkley High School in Los Angeles, although after his freshman year of high school he switched to Chatsworth High School in LA and attended Chatsworth with the famed actress Mare Winnigham. Later Val would attend the Hollywood Professional School, and afterwards the famed Juilliard School in New York City, where he would become the youngest person ever to be accepted into their drama program.

1981-1990

In the 1980’s Val’s Career really took off. In 1983 he scored a role in the play “The Slab Boys” with at the time up and coming actors Kevin Bacon and Sean Penn. In the same year he also acted in an ABC special called “One Too Many” with aspiring actress Michelle Pfeiffer. Val hit the big time when he scored the gig in the famous movie “Top Secret” in 1984, the film opened the door for Val to have the opportunity to score roles in future Hollywood films. In 1985 he played the lead roll in the comedy film “Real Genius”, and in 1986 he scored a roll as one of the main characters in one of the most famous army/military movies ever made, the famed “Top Gun” film. Val Kilmer continued to star in big screen and TV movies throughout the decade.

1990-1999

Instagram Photo

Throughout the decade of the 1990’s Val continued to get roles in major Hollywood Blockbusters. He held major roles in the early 1990’s films “Thunderheart”and “The Real McCoy”. In 1995 Val had a huge year on the big screen, playing Batman in the film”Batman Forever” and having a major acting role in the famed 1995 thriller “Heat” in which he acted along side the legendary actors Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Even tough “Batman Forever” got decent reviews at best, while “Heat” got overwhelmingly positive reviews, both films racked in $336 million dollars and $187 million dollars respectively at the box office. Trowed the end of the decade Val would be the voice of Moses in the famous animated film “The Prince of Egypt”, which made over $200 million dollars at the box office.

1999-Present

At the turn of the century, Val was one of the lead actors in the highly anticipated film “Red Planet”, but the movie turned out to be a huge flop. Despite the disappointment of “Red Planet” Val continued to get rolls for movies on the big screen, including in films such as “Wonderland”, “Spartan” , and “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” with Robert Downey Jr. . In 2015 Val was diagnosed with throat cancer, but after two years of treatment he was thankfully reported as being cancer free. Now that Val is healthy once again, hopefully we will see him back on the movie screen sometime in the near future.

Credit Union Holiday Bowl 2017: Predictions & Details For ‘Washington St vs. Michigan St’

$

Ahh the forever exciting Credit Union Holiday Bowl. This year we are treated to one of the most interesting coaches in the sport Mike Leach, and his Washington State Cougars as he takes on The Spartans of Michigan State. This game will be fun because its an offensive coach (Leach) vs a defensive coach (Dantonio) and I really don’t know what to expect. The line is at Michigan St -2.5 and the over under is at 47.5 for this one.

The Washington State Cougars (9-3) saw their season peek when they defeated USC at home 30-27, following that game Washington St ranked inside the top 10 and their QB Luke Falk was in the Heisman conversation. This is why I say they peaked after USC they were 5-0, they finished 4-3 with all 3 losses coming by 20+ points and Falk plummeted out of the Heisman conversation. Falk still did well though leading the Cougars to the tune of 374.8 passing yards per game ranking 2nd in the entire country! This pass attack mixed with the uncommon speed they have from their down lineman on defense creates for a perfect storm if you’re a cougar. The key for Washington St will be getting their “speed rush” to make sure they stop the run, the Spartans will try and keep the ariel assault of Washington St to a minimum by running the ball and killing clock.

The Michigan St Spartans (9-3) come into this game ager a very impressive season their only “bad” loss came on the road to North Western where they fell 38-31 to the Wildcats. Otherwise that the Spartans lost to eventual Big 10 Champs Ohio St and to a healthy top 5 Notre Dame team. The spartans like all the other big 10 teams rely on a strong defense and a heavy dose of the run game to beat opponets. The Spartans run game is lead by RB LJ Scott who ran for over 800 yards and 6 touchdowns on the year, but the Spartans have one of the better low key dual threat QBs in the county in Brian Lewerke. Lewerke is completing just shy of 60% of his passes, tossed 17 TDs, Ran for 5 more, and is 2nd on the team in rushing including a 61 yard TD run. The Spartans will take care of the ball and their 23rd ranked defense will do their best to keep the Spartans in it.

Prediction

This game is so tough to pic because I love Mike Leach, I think he’s hilarious and a pretty good coach as well. But I can’t ignore what the numbers show and thats that Washington St. struggles against mobile QBs/running teams. With that being said I think the Spartans win 31-24.

Michigan St -2.5

Josh Rosen Quotes: Best Quotes & Most-Famous Sayings

Josh Rosen is one of the more out spoken and opinionated players we’ve seen in college football. Rosen has shared his thoughts openly and willingly from his views on how School and Football mix to his political views. Rosen is one of the more thoughtful opinion sharers giving full bodied answers to questions, which shows his intelligence as a person not just a football player. I have decided to make this post because Josh Rosen quotes are already causing uprise so why not have them all in one place. I will have all the hot new Josh Rosen quotes here in the Rosen Talking Timeline:

Football

This is one of the best answers I’ve ever heard, I think this quote not only is dead on but it really showed people Josh Rosen knows what he’s saying and doesn’t just answer questions for the sake of it. I hope this woke people up because he’s so right, if a player gets hurt in the final bowl game it could end up costing them millions of dollars! how many people would actually risk millions of dollars on one game that you play for free? not too many

Instagram Photo

“I’d rather be a lower pick at the right team than a higher at the wrong team”

Some people actually got mad at this one… like c’mon are you kidding? why would he want to go to a dumpster fire like the Browns or the Colts when he could go to a team at the end of the 1st round like the Steelers who will be competitive right away? If we were in his shoes we’d say the same thing

Not really a quote but more of a piggy back Rosen also reportedly made comments he’d much rather play for the Giants than the Browns

All I have to say for that is DUUHHHHH YA THINK!?

Academics/Life

Instagram Photo

“Look, football and school don’t go together. They just don’t. Trying to do both is like trying to do two full-time jobs. There are guys who have no business being in school, but they’re here because this is the path to the NFL. There’s no other way. Then there’s the other side that says raise the SAT eligibility requirements. OK, raise the SAT requirement at Alabama and see what kind of team they have. You lose athletes and then the product on the field suffers.”

He’s got a point here. Think about the tremendous workload NCAA Football puts on these 18-22 year olds. Most 30 year olds couldn’t handle that kind of work load. From early in the morning to late at night these kids are working, wether its lifting, school, studying the playbook, practice, class, etc. Josh Rosen here making sure you all stay woke

Josh Rosen proving a point in a big way. I love the sarcastic passive aggressive caption on his instagram post. He’s so right, these college athletes make 100’s of millions of dollars for these institutions and they barely see any of that. Yes theres the counter argument of Shcolarships and Stipends players get but still none of that comes anywhere near the revenue the college makes from the team itself plus the sponosrship deals.

Virginia vs. Navy Live Stream: How to Watch Military Bowl Online

In the second set of weekday bowl games, there is a game between two average teams. These teams are the Virginia Cavaliers and the Navy Midshipmen. Both teams had average expectations this season and managed to fulfill those expectations by qualifying for a decent bowl game after winning six games in the regular season. Now, both teams will want to add a bowl victory to their resumes.

Virginia’s success is due to quarterback Kurt Benkert. This season, Benkert has thrown for 25 touchdowns and only eight interception. Benkert’s accuracy is a huge reason for the team’s success and that trend will need to continue if the Cavaliers plan on pulling off this upset. Another reason for their success is their deep receiving corps. Virginia has several receivers with multiple touchdowns and over 600 yards receiving this season. Expect Virginia to air it out against Navy in the hopes of generating big plays in the passing game.

Navy’s success was primarily due to its strong running game. Navy’s triple option rushing attack was successful again this season as the Midshipman ranked second in all of college football in rushing yards per game.  This season, Navy had two players with over 1,000 yards rushing along with at least nine rushing touchdowns. Those two players were Zach Abey and Malcolm Perry. If Abey and Perry find open running lanes, the Midshipmen will likely blow this game open.

As for my prediction, I have to side with Navy. I expect Virginia to struggle when it comes to defending the option and I believe that Virginia’s offense will be unable to keep up. Expect Abey and Perry to have big games on the ground as Navy wins by double digits.

Military Bowl 2017: Predictions & Game Details For ‘Virginia Vs. Navy’

$

0

The 2018 Military Bowl will feature the Navy Midshipmen taking on the Virginia Cavaliers. You might not have had this one circled on you calendar and by the end of this you’re going to be hitting yourself for not being eager for this one. Neither of these teams are considered premiere programs, but thats exactly why this game will be so good! Both teams are licking their chops at the chance to bring home a bowl win and have something to build off for next year. Navy is a 1.5 point favorite and the Over/Under is at 51.5.

Navy (6-6) comes into this game following a crushing loss to their biggest rival Army. Navy is the definition of a run first offense, they averaged a pathetic 83.8 yards per game while averaging 343 YPG on the ground. Navy has lost 3 straight including two road games to then #8 Notre Dame and a very tough Houston team who in fact just blew West Virginia in their Bowl game the other day. Navy relies solely on Zach Abey for their offensive output, he leads the team in Passing and Rushing yards. Navy’s game plan is simple run the ball, don’t turn it over and play good defense aka the big 10. If Navy can develop their run game early to open up Abey to make plays they will look to grind the ball and chip away at Virginia.

Virginia (6-6) has a very different philosophy offensively, they are all about throwing the ball. Virginia is not a very toughed offensive team averaging almost 100 less YPG offensively compared to Navy. They average less than a 100 yards on the ground per game as well as only 257.3 passing yards per contest. Virginia is a loser of 3 of its last four bul 2 of those came agains ranked opponents (Miami and Virginia Tech). Despite not being known for lighting up the scoreboard I expect UVA to have success in the air vs Navy with several big plays coming at the hands of playmaking RB Olamide Zaccheaus. O. Z (as his friends call him) had 80 catches this season which was 49 more than then the second leading receiver AND HES THIER RUNNING BACK!

Prediction

This game was not an easy pick and the bookmakers agreed only making navy give up 1.5.

I think the physical nature of Navy will be too much for the Cavs to handle and their lack of playmakers worry me. With that said I expect this to be an old school grind it out kind of game resulting in a 20-13 victory for the Navy Midshipmen

Navy -1.5

Military Bowl 2017

As the college football season continues its extravagant and engrossing farewell tour with a bevy of postseason affairs, fans and pundits alike will be continually be treated to one thrilling contest after another en route to the penultimate games of the College Football Playoff. A battle of two polar opposite programs, the Cavaliers will attempt to crush the prolific rushing attack of the Midshipmen with their formidable defense. The Military Bowl begins at 1:30 PM E.T. and will air on ESPN.

Pregame

Although the well-disciplined Midshipmen are unabashedly one-dimensional in their offensive approach, it has been a deadly one trick pony that has worn down opposing defenses on several occasions (343 RYPG). Led by a quarterback in Zach Abey, who has more rushing yards (1325) than passing yards (805), the Midshipmen are perfectly set up to run-wild with a triple-option offense that is exhausting to shutdown when it is running smoothly. However, Navy will need their inconsistent defense to prevail during at least a few drives if they hope to win out over a well-balanced Virginia program.

Unlike Navy, Virginia plays a much more conventional style of football in that they rely upon a solid defense (26.7 PAPG) and a fairly potent passing game (257.3 PYPG) to help them seal the deal. Incredibly, quarterback Kurt Benkert has thrown for more than one interception only once this season while throwing two touchdowns or more in all but four games this year. Yet, for everything the Cavaliers do well when it comes to passing the football, they struggle mightily when it comes to running the football consistently and effectively (98.8 RYPG).

Without question, this underrated matchup will be incredibly intriguing to watch mainly because both programs implement completely different strategies and styles to their advantage. While Navy’s relentless triple-option offense should not be underestimated, the Cavaliers have the defense and a trustworthy quarterback that will allow them to outscore Navy by a fair margin when all is said and done.

Prediction: Cavaliers 34 Midshipmen 24

First Quarter

-14:48. Virginia gets its first points of the game via their special teams. Joe Reed scampers for 98 yards on the opening kickoff.

-11:08. Navy overcomes a 3rd & 16 by running the football at the teeth of the Cavaliers defensive line.

-8:43. Navy answers the Cavaliers opening kickoff touchdown by methodically utilizing their triple-option offense. Score: Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 7

-7:22. Cavaliers Quarterback Kurt Benkert sacked for a massive loss. Navy forces a three and out, will start their second drive on their own 45-yard line.

-5:20. Personal foul penalty called on Midshipmen erases an electric 31-yard option run.

-4:18- Midshipmen continue to abuse the Cavaliers defense on the edges. Malcolm Perry dashes for 22 yards and Navy’s second touchdown of the day. Score: Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 14

-1:07: Kurt Benkert throws an errant, incomplete pass. Cavaliers promising drive sputters in enemy territory. Punt by the Cavaliers results in Navy having to start their next drive from their own 1-yard line.

-0:00. Undaunted by their poor field position, the Midshipmen continue to pound the football at the Cavaliers defense.

Score: Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 14

Second Quarter

-15:00. 143 yards of total offense for Navy through one quarter (all yards accumulated via running game).

-12:56. Cavaliers get a much-needed stop on defense and force Navy to punt from deep within their own territory.

-11:37. Cavaliers continue to struggle on offense. Kurt Benkert throws an ill-advised deep ball on 3rd & 20 and it is intercepted by Midshipmen defensive back Sean Williams.

-9:56. Virginia’s defense gets another big stop on third down! Navy is now struggling to run the ball effectively outside of the numbers.

-7:05. Virginia attempts to convert a 4th & 4 at Navy’s 30-yard line and fails to do so. Kurt Benkert is looking a bit flustered when attempting to find his open receivers (5 of 14 passing so far).

-5:47. Navy’s rushing offense continues to attack a worn out Cavaliers defense. Malcolm Perry rushes for 33 yards.

-3:12. Malcolm Perry continues to be the Midshipmen’s go-to playmaker on offense. He rushes for 19 yards and a touchdown. Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 21

-2:54. When it rains it pours. Cavaliers running back Joe Reed fumbles and loses the football to Navy at their own 36-yard line.

-1:39. Navy strikes again. Zach Abey rushes for a one-yard touchdown. Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 28

-0:33 Virginia attempts a 48-yard field goal. The kick is short off the leg of A.J. Mejia.

-0:00 Passing game continues to be abysmal for the Cavaliers as halftime begins (Kurt Benkert: 8 of 20 passing for 69 yards).

Score: Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 28

Third Quarter

-11:42. Cavaliers successfully stifle a Midshipmen rushing attack that has been practically unstoppable today.

-11:03. Just like that, the Cavaliers muff a punt return and give the Midshipmen the ball right back on their own 10-yard line.

-9:46. Navy easily rushes the football on a power run by Zach Abey for five yards and a touchdown. Score: Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 35

-6:32. A dead ball personal foul penalty on the Cavaliers prevents them from sustaining what appeared to be an efficient offensive drive.

-1:57. No Malcolm Perry? No Problem. Zach Abey rushes for another touchdown to put the Midshipmen up big over the Cavaliers. Score: Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 42.

-0:00. Navy continues to roll against the Cavaliers. Virginia will need a miracle of epic proportions to come back in this contest.

Score: Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 42

Fourth Quarter

-11:11. The Midshipmen keep rubbing salt in the wound of the exhausted and outmatched Cavaliers. Zach Abey rushes for one yard and a touchdown. Score: Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 49.

-0:00. And that’s that. The Midshipmen completely dominate the Cavaliers to win the Military Bowl.

Final

Score: Cavaliers 7 Midshipmen 49

Aside from an opening kickoff return for a touchdown, the Virginia Cavaliers were dreadful on both offense and defense in this contest. Cavaliers quarterback Kurt Benkert (15 of 34, 133 passing yards, one interception) was woefully inaccurate and was constantly under pressure from a Navy defense that used complex blitzes to fluster the veteran passer. Despite losing starting quarterback Malcolm Perry in the third quarter, the Midshipmen rallied around their back up and former starter in Zach Abey (13 carries, 88 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns). From there, Navy’s fresh defense kept the Cavaliers offense off-balance while the Midshipmen’s offense continued to run the football relentlessly. Simply put, it was a dominating effort by the Midshipmen, who effectively controlled this game from start to finish.

Alamo Bowl 2017: Predictions & Game Details For ‘Stanford Vs. TCU’

Pac 12 vs Big 12! were going to have a reenactment of the actual Alamo because this game is a shootout! Neither conference is known for thais stout defenses and both these teams can sure light up the score board. Im extremely excited to see how TCU goes about stopping Bryce Love and that powerful Stanford rushing attack. The lines for this game are TCU -3 and 48.5.

Stanford (9-4) comes into this one after losing a heartbreaker to USC in the Pac 12 Championship Game. You can’t even begin to talk about Stanford without first mentioning Heisman Trophy Finalist Bryce Love. Bryce Love has stepped in and made everyone forget Christian McCaffrey by totaling just under 2,000 yards on the ground (1,973) on only 237 carries, thats 8.3 yards per carry! Bryce Love is the engine that makes this Stanford team go, his 17 touchdowns are 6 more than their QB has even thrown for. The Stanford Defense hasn’t been its normal game controlling self this year, but their stellar running game has helped them tremendously. If Stanford wants to win the Alamo Bowl they will have to run the ball effectively, not turn it over, and try and keep TCU out of the end zone and hold them to FG’s.

The TCU Horned Frogs have had an up and down season to say the least. The TCU offense was once looked at as their strength with former Texas A&M QB Kenny Hill at the reigns, but that wasn’t the case. Kenny Hill has been up and down all year, battling injuries, sitting out for unknown reasons,  etc. The inconsistency from their QB position hasn’t slowed down their defense though who is only allowing 12.1 points per game which ranks them 12th in the country. This number is a little skewed because TCU has played some pretty lack luster offenses to say the least. TCU’s defense will have to find a way to stop Love and the rushing game of Stanford.

Prediction

This game isn’t easy to ice because you really don’t know what TCU team you’re going to see. That being said I’m rolling with Stanford and the Under. I know it seems like their will be a lot of points but I think Stanford will slow the game down with their running game and control the ball for long efficient drives. Stanford wins 20-13

Stanford +3

Under 48.5

Freelance photographer Betsy Bissen has joined the #MeToo Movement on Thursday, claiming that Minnesota Twins star Miguel Sano grabbed her by the wrist and tried pulling her into the bathroom while at an autograph signing in 2015. The 37-year-old photographer says that Sano flirted with her, but she didn’t reciprocate. She said that Sano grabbed her by the wrist and forced her to walk with him and their colleagues. She didn’t want to cause a scene at first but then began to struggle as he was about to bring her into the bathroom. She said her body was very sore the next day as a result of fighting “off this athlete that thought he was entitled to take advantage of me against my will.”

On Thursday, Bissen took to Twitter to share her #MeToo story, writing, “This is not easy for me to share, but I feel I need to share it. This is my story.”

Bissen added that “Every day new stories come out. More women come forward about their sexual assaults and rapes. When will it end? For those of us who have been thru a similar situation, hearing each of those stories is another reminder of what we went thru.”

The photographer said, “I’ve been a huge fan of baseball for the majority of my life, so naturally, I like doing sports photography and working autograph signings of Minnesota athletes. I’ve shot in the Twins camera well on many occasion, and this is where my story starts…it ends with working at an autograph signing.”

Here’s Betsy Bissen’s Story

Bissen recalls her encounter with Miguel Sano in 2015, who first noticed her while she did photography work for the Minnesota Twins during games. The alleged altercation happened at an autograph signing at a store where Bissen volunteered.

“[Sano] made a comment while we got our picture together that he had seen me during the games. During the signing, he kept trying to flirt with me (I didn’t reciprocate),” she wrote. “After the signing was over, he decided that he wanted to go to the Apple store before he left the mall. As him, his agent and the guy I worked for walked away, he grabbed my wrist and made me go with them.”

The photographer wrote that she didn’t “want to cause a scene,” so she went along with Sano. In her tweet, she said that they spent the next 30 minutes inside the store before it was time to go.

“Their car was pulled around to a back hallway door. As we got outside [Sano] decided he needed to use the restroom. I asked my boss where it was and pointed to the door we just walked thru,” Bissen wrote. “Apparently I was too close and [Sano] took that as a signal that I wanted him to grab me and try to take me back thru that door.”

Here’s what happened next…

“I pulled back as he held onto my wrist. It hurt, how badly he was grasping at my wrist, but he wouldn’t let go. I wasn’t going to give up my fight though. He then leaned down and tried to kiss me, more than once. Every time he did, I said no and kept pulling back. I was in a squatted position with my wrist throbbing, I screamed, no one came to help me. He finally gave up after a solid 10 [minutes] of fighting to pull me thru that door. I don’t even want to think of what he may have done, had he got me thru that door.”

Bissen wrote, “No he didn’t rape me, but he sure did assault me. When I said no, it should have been the end of it. He should have respected that and stopped. Instead, he hurt me and kept going.”

She said that “the next day, my body was sore all over from having to fight off” Sano. She said, “he thought he was entitled to take advantage of me against my will.”

Fans of Sano took to Twitter to shoot down Bissen’s allegation. But the photographer was quick to respond, saying that “The trolls are out in full force on [Instagram]. Most saying how he would never go for a girl like me when he can get models. How a 200lb man could pull my ass thru a door (I box, so I do have strength to fight back). Or that I want fame/money from this. Let me assure you, I don’t. I want nothing more than to feel free of this burden I’ve carried with me since 2015. I have NOTHING to gain from this. It’s been hard enough for me to come forward knowing there would be backlash, but it was time.”

One Twitter user questioned Bissen, asking her how long did the athlete attempt to pull her into the bathroom before giving up. Bissen responded by writing, “It’s not like I clocked it. I felt like an eternity that I was pulling with every bit of strength I had in my legs, in my arm. My wrist was red and purple when I got home that night. (not a bruise, just sore).”

Bissen said that she told friends and family about the incident, but wasn’t ready to go public with the allegations at the time. In her statement, she said, “all I want from this is to tell my story.” She didn’t tell the public what happened then because she was “afraid that (she) wouldn’t get the access to shoot baseball that (she) got before.

“I did tell people, including my family,” she wrote on Twitter, responding to a question as to why she didn’t come public with her claims sooner. “I wasn’t quite ready to share with the whole world. It’s overwhelming and terrifying because there are people like you who will cry for proof. Thanks for making it harder for women to come forward.”

When pressed for proof, she responded by writing, “well the two people who heard me scream and were there have something to lose with siding with me. What kind of proof do you think I need? Should I record any interaction with people I have so you can hear me say no? No means no. Period.”

A friend of Bissen who uses the handle TCAnelle took to Twitter to defend her friend’s story.

“For anyone doubting her, she told me and other friends/family right after it happened,” TCAnelle tweeted. “It was her story to share on her own timetable. Stop before questioning why she waited until now. There have been enough #metoo stories that illustrate why women wait to speak out.”

Bissen said that she continued working with the Minnesota Twins as a photographer following the incident.

“It happened in 2015. I did actually go back and shoot more games! It was hard, especially the first game after it happened,” she tweeted. “I’m not asking for anything from this other than to relieve myself of this horrific night. There’s no case/trial. Just a woman who wants this event to not hold any power over her. … The other brave women who have had similar things happen to them have shown me I’m not alone. I can only hope to offer than to someone else. It’s just a burden I didn’t want to live with anymore.”

The photographer also claims that first base coach Butch Davis hit on her “almost every game I was at.” She said, “I could ignore this. The first base coach didn’t bother me until he tried to ask for my phone number. A married man, around 20 years older than me, I didn’t oblige.”

Davis was fired from the Twins in 2016 and hasn’t responded to Bissen’s comments.

What is the Reaction from the Minnesota Twins and the accused Miguel Sano?

The Minnesota Twins are taking these allegations very seriously. While Miguel Sano has completely denied these allegations.

The Minnesota Twins released a written statement on Twitter which said, “Today the Minnesota Twins were made aware of allegations involving Miguel Sano at an offsite appearance during the 2015 season. The Twins, along with Major League Baseball, take these allegations very seriously. Until more information is gathered, the Twins will have no further comment.”

MLB spokesman Mike Teevan said in a statement, “We are aware of the allegations and are now in the process of looking into it.”

In August 2015, the MLB and the MLB Players Association created a domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy, which gives commissioner Rob Manfred the authority to decide the punishment in those cases with no maximum or minimum penalty.

Miguel Sano is a 24-year-old native of the Dominican Republican. He’s been playing with the Twins since 2009 and has been living in Minnesota since 2015. He “unequivocally” denies the allegations of assault against him by photographer Betsy Bissen.

He told TMZ Sports, “I unequivocally deny the allegation made against me today — it never happened. I have the utmost respect for women, especially those working in professional sports, and I deeply sympathize with anyone who has experienced sexual harassment. There is no place for it in our society.”

Rob Plummer, Sano’s former agent, spoke with ESPN about the incident. Plummer said that he was at the mall for the signing, but wasn’t in the position to see what happened between Sano and Bissen.

“I was outside next to the car, waiting for him to come out on the other side of the loading bay dock, so I don’t know what happened inside,” Plummer told ESPN. “I didn’t see or hear anything. I wasn’t anywhere near Miguel.”

A Show of Support for Betsy Bissen

Despite the harassment and probing questions, she has also received her fair share of support. Two former Minnesota Twins players took to Twitter to show their support for Bissen.

Trevor Plouffe, who played on Twins alongside Sano in 2015, wrote to her, “I’m so sorry about this. I understand why you didn’t, but I wish you would have come to me.”

Another former teammate of Sano took to Twitter, writing “I’m sorry” to Bissen. His name is Trevor May, a former pitcher for the Twins.

Nick Nelson, one of the owners of Twins Daily, took to his website to write, “I’ve known Betsy for a long time. She related this experience to me and others many months ago. There is no reason to doubt its veracity. I speak for the entire Twins Daily ownership group in saying we believe her story, and respect/support her for making the difficult decision to share it publicly.”

Bissen responded to the overflow of support by writing “I’m so overwhelmed by all the support! Thank you to everyone for your kind words. This has taken me a while to get here (and I’m still nervous)!”

The photographer has also Tweeted out some of the negative responses she received as a result of her #MeToo story. “This was a great FB message I got: “you are a stupid b*tch! you got hit on by an athlete and you want to cry about it. c*ut” Can’t wait to report that one!”

In the second week of bowl games, there is a game between two ranked opponents. These teams are the Michigan State Spartans and the Washington State Cougars. Both teams had above average expectations this season but managed to exceed those expectations by winning nine games and by qualifying for a respectable bowl game. Now, both teams will look to prove that they are truly a top 15 team in college football by winning this bowl game.

Michigan State’s success is due to sophomore quarterback Brian Lewerke. This season, Lewerke has thrown for 17 touchdowns and only seven interceptions along with 2,508 yards. Lewerke is also averaging 4.5 yards per carry and has over 480 yards rushing along with five rushing touchdowns. Assisting Lewerke is running back LJ Scott who had 788 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns this season. Expect Lewerke and Scott to contribute a lot in the ground game as the Spartans will attempt to out-physical this Washington State defense.

Leading the Washington State offense is senior quarterback Luke Falk. Falk is one of those quarterbacks who has had insane statistics in his college career but never received the national recognition that he deserved. Last season, Falk threw for 38 touchdowns along with over 4,400 yards. Falk is an extremely accurate quarterback and has always boasted a high completion percentage as a result. This season, Falk continued to be extremely accurate and threw for 30 passing touchdowns along with over 3,500 passing yards. If the Cougars plan on winning this contest, expect Falk to have a huge game through the air.

As for my prediction, I have to side with Michigan State. Although Falk is a great quarterback, I think that Washington State’s offense is extremely one-dimensional due to its inability to run the ball consistently. Michigan State has a better defense and a more balanced offense which I think will lead the Spartans to a victory in this bowl game.

In the second week of bowl games, there is a game between two ranked opponents. These teams are the Stanford Cardinal and the TCU Horned Frogs. Both teams had above average expectations this season but managed to exceed those expectations by winning at least nine games and by qualifying for a respectable bowl game. However, both teams will want to add a bowl victory to successfully culminate their seasons.

Stanford’s success is due to star running back Bryce Love. So far this season, Love already has over 1,900 yards rushing along with 17 rushing touchdowns. Love also averaged a whopping 7.3 yards per carry and looked like one of the best running backs in all of college football. However, Stanford’s offense was truly unable to take that next step until K.J. Costello became the starting quarterback in November. This season, Costello threw for 11 touchdowns along with over 1,300 passing yards with only two interceptions. Expect Love to get the ball early and often as Stanford will try to make third downs more manageable for its sophomore quarterback.

TCU’s success is due to quarterback Kenny Hill. So far this season, Hill has 21 passing touchdowns with only six interceptions. Hill has been extremely accurate in the pocket this season and has a completion percentage of 67.2 to prove it. Last season, Hill threw 13 interceptions and was pretty poor in the realm of ball security. However, those issues look to be behind Hill and TCU finished the regular season in the top 15 as a result. Hill’s job has been made easier by running backs Kyle Hicks and Sewo Olonilua. Both backs have scored at least four rushing touchdowns while averaging at least 4.5 yards per carry this season. Expect both backs to play vital roles in the red zone as TCU will need them to finish off touchdown drives.

As for my prediction, I have to side with Stanford. I believe that Stanford has more talented players than TCU and also has a huge coaching advantage. Stanford’s coach David Shaw is one of the best coaches in all of college football and has won his last three bowl games with this university. I expect him to organize a phenomenal gameplan and I also expect Love to have another big game as Stanford wins by a touchdown or so.

New Years Memes 2018: Best Jokes, Funny Photos, GIF’s & Images

New Years represents a time where a new calendar year begins, which in most cases occurs on Jan. 1. Although most calendar systems use the Gregorian calendar, some other parts of the world go by a different one. This means that their new year starts on a different day than ours. Some parts of the world count years numerically, while others don’t.

The Roman Empire, for example, used to enter the new year on May 1, before 222 BC. From 22 BC to 154 BC, they marked the new year on March 15. The Romans didn’t start using January 1 as the new year mars until 153 BC. This date  became the official first day of the new year in 45 BC when Julius Ceaser’s new Julian calendar took effect.

Although many different parts of the world took their own paths to get there, January 1 is the universal start of the civil year, even though some places like Turkey and Thailand didn’t adopt this standard until much later. Turkey made January 1 the start of the new year in 1926, followed shortly after by Thailand in 1941.

Regardless of your time or place, New Years is quickly approaching and what better way to ring in the new year than with some memes? We all know that memes pretty much complete the internet, so why not end 2017 right with some of the best New Years GIFs and memes.

Sure New Years is about new beginnings and resolutions and reflecting, but it can also be about memes, if you find the right ones of course. Don’t worry, I’ve gathered some of the best New Years memes and GIFs around and put them all right here for you! You’re welcome.

With that being said, put down your noisemakers and get ready for memes, one of the only things that didn’t disappoint us in 2017.
