Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis Will Move On After This Season

Marvin Lewis has been the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals for 15 seasons, the second longest tenure behind Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. According to ESPN’s NFL reporter Adam Schefter, Lewis plans on leaving the Bengals at the end of this season.

Lewis took over the team in 2003 two years after he won the Super Bowl as a defensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens. The Bengals were coming off a 2-14 season, when Lewis took over and was able to turn things around and lead them to back to back 8-8 seasons.

In 2005 Lewis would lead his team to their first winning record (11-5) and their first division title in 15 years. They would go onto to lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card Game, a trend that would haunt Lewis throughout his tenure.

After a three year absence from the playoffs Lewis was able to get his team back on track in 2009 where they would go 10-6 and he would win Coach of the Year honors. But once again they were not able to win their playoff match-up against the New York Jets.

From 2010-2015 the Bengals would go onto make the playoff five out of those six seasons, but were never able to capture a playoff victory. His inability to win in the playoffs has been the main issue in Lewis’ coaching career.

Also much was made about the lack of discipline his players had in crucial situations during games. In a key play late in their 2015 playoff game against the Steelers, the Bengals were assessed two personal foul penalties which put Pittsburgh in field goal range and would cost the Bengals the game.

The last two seasons have been a disappointment for the Bengals, it is clear Lewis has not been able to motivate this team like he has in the past. Schefter also reported that Lewis will be on the short list for many teams for a head coaching job or even a front office position.

No matter how the rest of the season plays out Marvin Lewis will leave with the most wins by a head coach in Bengals history.

College Basketball Power Rankings 2017: Week 7 Rankings

NEW YORK, NY – DECEMBER 11: Malik Monk #5 of the Kentucky Wildcats drives to the basket against the Eli Pemberton #5 of the Hofstra Pride in the first half of the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival at Barclays Center on December 11, 2016 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. (Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)

Despite this past week being somewhat lite on the intriguing ranked vs. ranked contests, there were still plenty of close calls and shocking upsets. With the exception of Wichita State losing to Oklahoma, the top five programs in college basketball held serve due to playing some relatively easy opposition. Nevertheless, the likes of Villanova and Michigan State took care of business against tenacious although supremely inferior opponents. With that being said, there were still plenty of upsets near the bottom of the rankings as the Gators, Fighting Irish and Seminoles all succumbed to unranked opponents. As a result, several newcomers were able to break into the top 25 rankings and assert themselves (at least for now) as some of the most competitive programs in college basketball.

1. Villanova Wildcats

With Big East play commencing in just a couple of weeks, the ruthless scorers of Villanova will get to display their Showtime capabilities in the national spotlight consistently. Although the Wildcats are not particularly efficient at rebounding the basketball, their propensity for hitting outside shots and driving the basketball to the hoop consistently has allowed them to not be dependent on this typically essential facet of most elite programs.

2. Michigan State Spartans

Unquestionably, the Spartans have the elite talent on their roster to shut down any opponent on defense (62.4 PAPG). However, if they can establish any type of consistency as an offensive unit, they will inevitably become the best program in college basketball. While the Spartans have yet to reach this lofty potential, the fact that they have yet to play their best basketball and have lost one contest (vs. Duke) this year, future opponents that have to contend with this program should be shaking in their boots.

3. Arizona State Sun Devils

While it’s difficult to view this Sun Devils program as anything but a high-octane offense, their most recent victory over Vanderbilt was particularly impressive in that it proved that Arizona State can play decent defense when their offense is not firing on all cylinders. Although the Sun Devils will most likely not be considered an elite defensive program at any point this season, if they can get enough stops down the stretch while their offense hits clutch shots, this is a team that will continue to baffle and defeat almost every opponent that they match up with.

4. Duke Blue Devils

Considering the Blue Devils were on furlough this week, there is not much to unpack for what is obviously a highly talented and well-coached program. The only thing holding this perennial National Title contender back is a killer instinct on defense and offense, something that should emerge as a natural facet for this Blue Devils team that is still establishing the necessary continuity amongst its freshman-laden roster.

5. North Carolina Tar Heels

Playing in a tough environment against a hungry Tennessee program, the talented Tar Heels pulled out the necessary stops on defense and hit clutch free throws down the stretch to come out with a highly impressive win. Although the Tar Heels could play better team defense (71.3 PAPG), their prolific offense has done more than enough this season to overshadow their imperfect defensive play.

6. Kentucky Wildcats

Despite being the youngest team in college basketball, John Calipari and the Wildcats have slowly but effectively established a strong offensive identity (81.3 PPG). Although the defense has been prone to being inconsistent from time to time, Kevin Knox and Hamidou Diallo have stepped up as the Wildcats clutch shooters in tight games. While the SEC looks to be particularly deep and competitive this season, the Wildcats have all of the necessary elements to eventually be the top team in the conference by the end of the season.

7. Miami Hurricanes

Although their offense has been completely erratic this season, the fundamentally sound defense of the Hurricanes has been able to pick up the slack without many issues this season (56.3 PAPG). Although the one-dimensional style of play of Miami could cost them some tight games in the ACC this season, they have the benefit of being one of the most well-coached teams in the country while having a highly athletic and talented starting five that has the potential to be prolific on offense.

8. Texas A&M Aggies

Aside from a loss in a defensive grudge match against Arizona, the Aggies confidently utilized their size and unselfish offense to shut down their respective opposition. With one of the more competitive non-conference schedules in college basketball, the Aggies will most likely begin conference play with just one loss on their record and will have comfortably established themselves as a physical defensive program that almost always converts their extra opportunities into crucial scores on the other end of the court.

9. West Virginia Mountaineers

A 10-game winning streak. They have allowed their opponents to score more than 70 points only twice during their win streak. These pithy statements epitomize the dominance and well-balanced nature of a West Virginia program that has overcome one overly confident opponent after another. Scoring 85.4 PPG and holding the opposition to 65.4 PPG, the Mountaineers have yet to look anything less than elite since losing their first game of the season to Texas A&M. With Big 12 play commencing in a couple of weeks, the versatile Mountaineers will get a chance to sharpen their teeth against arguably the deepest conference in college basketball.

10. Xavier Musketeers

Aside from a near upset against Eastern Tennessee State, the Musketeers have been a dominant scoring program (88.4 PPG) that has recently stepped up on defense (have held their opponents to 76 points or less during their five-game winning streak). Although the Musketeers recent lapse offensively is slightly concerning, this one loss program has proven on more than one occasion that they are capable of playing to their strengths while improving their weaknesses as the season progresses.

11. Kansas Jayhawks

Although the Jayhawks were able to avoid disaster in a too close for comfort win over Nebraska, this is a program that has looked incredibly inconsistent on both offense and defense recently despite leading college basketball in assists per game (20). The most glaring weakness for the Jayhawks has been their lack of efficiency when it comes to rebounding the basketball, something that has robbed this prolific offense of the necessary opportunities needed to be competitive in what appears to be a well-balanced Big 12 conference.

12. Gonzaga Bulldogs

After escaping in a close call victory against North Dakota, the Bulldogs are fortunate that their most recent lapse on defense did not result in an embarrassing upset at home. Offensively, the starting five for the Bulldogs are capable of both scoring (all five starters average double-digit point scores per game) and rebounding the ball (starting five average no less than 3.4 RPG) with impressive efficiency. If Gonzaga can minimize their lackadaisical nature when it comes to silly turnovers (14 TPG), this is a program that has all the intriguing pieces to make another run at a National Title.

13. Wichita State Shockers

Despite the elite efficiency of the Shockers on offense (86.5 PPG, 17.9 APG), their inconsistent efforts on defense have cost them two crucial games against the highly competitive opposition. In particular, the Sooners overwhelmed the Shockers defense to the tune of a 91-83 drubbing on the Shockers home court. While the aforementioned loss does not diminish how well-coached and disciplined this team is, their lack of a dominant athlete on their roster could be to their detriment against prolific scoring programs.

14. TCU Horned Frogs

Although the Horned Frogs defense has been decidedly average this season (72.4 PAPG), their tenacious offense (87.3 PPG) coupled with their talented capabilities as a passing unit (19.2 APG) has allowed them to rise quickly to the top of the BIG 12. With Kenrich Williams fearlessly leading his team on both offense (14.2 PPG) and defense (2.7 SPG), the Horned Frogs have rallied time and again behind their athletic leader and have rarely taken ill-advised shots as a result of Williams exemplary efforts every game (53.1 FG%, 43.1 3P% has a team).

15. Purdue Boilermakers

Competitively fierce on both offense (85.6 PPG) and defense (65.3 PAPG), the white-hot Boilermakers have put their back-to-back losses to Tennessee and Western Kentucky way back in the rearview mirror. During their seven-game winning streak, the Boilermakers have allowed their opponents to score more than 70 points only once and have themselves produced point totals of less 74 points only once this season. If the Boilermakers can maintain this type of well-balanced efficiency on both offense and defense, they could feasibly challenge Michigan State for top honors in the Big 10 conference.

16. Virginia Cavaliers

From the first game of the season to now, the Cavaliers have lived and died by their soul-crushing defense (53.3 PAPG). Despite a 9-1 record, the Cavaliers have been overly reliant on Kyle Guy (17 PPG) and Devon Hall (13.3 PPG) to carry this team offensively. While both of the aforementioned athletes have been fantastic, this team needs much more production from their three other starters when it comes to scoring if they hope to avoid an inevitable slide, which almost always occurs when a team is completely lopsided on either offense or defense.

17. Baylor Bears

While the Bears have been defensively sound program throughout the season (66.7 PAPG), they have struggled to produce offensively against ranked opponents (scored points totals of just 63 and 62 against Xavier and Wichita State respectively). Still, the Bears have dominated their lesser opponents, suggesting that this team has the talent and fundamentals to be great. However, the Bears will have to put up a much more concerted effort on both offense and defense if they hope to stay relevant in a highly competitive Big 12 conference.

18. Cincinnati Bearcats

Teetering on the brink of falling out of the rankings, the scrappy Bearcats got back to what made them an intimidating defensive force earlier in the season (60.8 PAPG) in their last two victories. Winning in dominating fashion over both UCLA and Mississippi State, the Bearcats confidently oppressed the opposition thanks to the opportunistic defensive play of Jacob Evans (1 SPG, 1.5 BPG) and Gary Clark (1.5 SPG, 1.5 BPG). Inevitably, the Bearcats will need to be more consistent on offense at some point this season if they hope to contend with an ultimately overcome the elite programs in college basketball.

19. Arizona Wildcats

The mark of a truly great team comes when what appears to be insurmountable adversity actually strengthens the resolve of a talented program. Since losing three games in one week earlier in the season, the resurrected Wildcats have emphatically forced themselves back into the national spotlight as they have won five games in a row (two of the five wins were against Alabama and Texas A&M). If the immensely talented Wildcats can overcome a nearly flawless Arizona State program at the end of the month, it will be incredibly difficult not consider them a sleeper National Title contender.

20. Oklahoma Sooners

With a decisive win over a third-ranked Wichita State program recently, the offensively tenacious Sooners have proven (for now) that their scoring dominance (93 PPG) is enough to overcome a less than impressive defense (80.4 PAPG). Thus far, Trae Young has almost single-handedly carried this program as the teams leading scorer (28.8 PPG) and passer (8.9 APG). However, the Sooners have several unsung heroes on their roster when it comes to rebounding the ball, the most notable of which are Khadeem Lattin (8.4 RPG) and Brady Manek (5.3 RPG).

21. Clemson Tigers

Despite being a dominant albeit one-dimensional defensive program (64.4 PAPG), the surging Tigers have rarely faltered this season en route to a 9-1 record. Although the Tigers do not possess anyone on their roster that averages more than 15.5 PPG, all five of their starters are averaging double-digit figures when it comes to points per game. As a result, the Tigers have been able to rely on multiple shooters at any given time and have not been beholden to one particular superstar to carry them to victory.

22. Seton Hall Pirates

Just when it appeared that the Pirates were emerging as one of the best teams in the Big East, they lost in devastating fashion to defensively stout Rutgers program. Although the aforementioned loss is by no means an indictment against the talent and versatility of the Pirates, it has exposed this team’s occasional deficiencies on offense. If the Pirates still have ambitions of taking over the Big East at some point this season, Desi Rodriguez has to show up as the teams consummate rebounder against the reputable opposition (pulled down just two rebounds apiece in both of the Pirates losses and garnered less than five rebounds only once in all of the Pirates victories).

23. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Although the Red Raiders may not be undefeated (see TCU) and lack a reputable pedigree (see WVU), they have actually been one of the more well-rounded and tested teams in college basketball this season (have defeated two top 25 programs this season). With an impressive blend of scoring (81.6 PPG) and defending (60.3 PAPG), the Red Raiders have consistently and effectively played their style of basketball even in their lone loss to Seton Hall (have yet to allow an opponent to score 80 points this season).

24. Louisville Cardinals

Despite the tumultuous internal issues surrounding this severely maligned program, the Cardinals have been one of the most resilient teams in college basketball. Since losing back-t0-back contests to Purdue and Seton Hall, the pesky Cardinals have won their last four games fairly soundly. Assuming Deng Adel can continue to lead by example with his impressive shooting capabilities (16 PPG, 49.2 FG%), the Cardinals could actually be an intriguing sleeper program in the ACC as the season progresses.

25. Creighton Blue Jays

Quietly, the Blue Jays have won three games in a row with an impressive combination of a developing defense (71.6 PAPG) and highly prolific offense (90.2 PPG). Although Khyri Thomas has essentially been the Blue Jays lone elite defender (1.4 SPG), Creighton has been able to do enough as a team when it comes to taking high percentage shots from the field (51.6 FG%) while consistently scoring points from the charity stripe (73.3 FT%). With a matchup against UT Arlington coming up next, the Blue Jays will need to be particularly efficient on both sides of the court to overcome this vastly underrated non-conference opponent.

As Christmas Day rapidly approaches, the multitude of high profile college basketball affairs will diminish rapidly. However, this is not to say that there is a dearth of competitive contests this week. In fact, relatively unknown programs that play in lesser conferences will get unique opportunities to garner some impressive non-conference wins before they fade back into obscurity until March Madness commences. With non-conference play wrapping up this week, reputable programs will valiantly attempt to bolster their resumes before they face familiar albeit highly-competitive opponents who will all be seeking to get a leg up in their respective conferences any way they can.

Dude Gets Invited To His Tinder Date’s House, So Naturally, He Stole Her Dog

If I was a chick, I would absolutely never be on any form of a dating app. Just too many dog-stealing psychos out there. Now, while a stolen dog may not have been a woman’s first concern when bringing home a stranger before, it should certainly be at the top of the list now. Money? Replaceable. TV? Buy a new one. Panties? Well, that’s weird, but you have thousands. But your dog? That’s some real sick shit.

According to reports, a family dog was stolen from a home in Leonia, New Jersey after an unidentified 18-year-old woman, who was dog sitting for a neighbor, invited a stranger she’d met on Tinder into the home. The Leonia Police Department says that the woman met the man through Tinder before inviting him to the home. When he arrived, he was with another man.

CBS New York reports that while the woman was distracted by one of the men, the other was able to steal a laptop, an Amazon package, and, that’s right, a 2-year-old white female Maltese named Maggie.

via CBS New York:

On Sunday, August 20, the Leonia Police Department received a call from an 18-year-old woman who reported a theft.

Police say the woman used the social media app Tinder and met a man online whom she had not previously met. She invited him to the house and he arrived with another man, police said.

While she was distracted by one of the men, the other was alone in the house. Shortly after they left the home, she noticed that a laptop and package from Amazon were stolen — along with a 2-year-old white female Maltese named Maggie.

Unfortunately, the dog or the men responsible for stealing her have not yet been found. The Leonia Police Department is asking for anyone who may have seen Maggie or who has information about this case to call (201) 944-0800 or email tips@leoniapd.org.

There’s hell … and then there’s the place where dog thieves go.

Josh Hart- NCAA Tournament Five players to watch

Although Christmas Day is still a week away, there are plenty of early gifts in the form of highly competitive college basketball affairs to enjoy. While there may not be any perceptible elite contests to view, the plethora of intriguing non-conference contests that will be vital in strengthening the resumes of several programs will be intense and notable in their own right. As conference play looms large, this is the crucial time for lesser-known programs to garner essential victories so as to give themselves a fighting chance of receiving an NCAA Tournament berth. While euphoria and holiday cheer will attempt to creep in, every team that competes this week will attempt to stave off these complacent emotions and compete valiantly before the holiday season officially commences.

UT Arlington Mavericks vs. Creighton Blue Jays (25)

Although the Mavericks should rightfully be considered an under the radar program to a degree, they have played well enough on offense and defense to be considered legitimate competitors. Led by two-way standout Kevin Hervey (23.6 PPG, 1.6 SPG), the Mavericks have an intriguing combination of scorers, passers, and rebounders. Despite looking inconsistent at times this season, the tenacious offense of the Blue Jays (90.2 PPG) has prevailed more often than not. While both programs have prolific shooters, the Blue Jays three opportunistic playmakers in Marcus Foster (18.6 PPG), Khyri Thomas (15.7 PPG) and Martin Krampelj (12.4 PPG) that are difficult to contain consistently. Although the Mavericks are on the rise and have some intriguing pieces on their roster, the talent and abundance of shooters on the Blue Jays roster will ultimately underwhelm an outmatched UT Arlington program.

Final Score: Mavericks 80 Blue Jays 89 Spread: Crieghton -13.5

Marshall Thundering Herd vs. Xavier Musketeers (9)

Despite having a horrific defense (83.9 PAPG), the Thundering Herd have been able to come out on top in the majority of their contests thanks to a relentless offense (90.2 PPG). With four out of their five starters averaging double-digit points per game, the Thundering Herd are the constant beneficiaries of a dynamic offense that can effectively move and shoot the basketball. While the Musketeers defense has not exactly been optimal either, they have been much more resilient during their five-game winning streak (have held their last five opponents to 76 points or less). Combined with their sharpshooting offense led by Trevon Bluiett (21.4 PPG), the Musketeers have a distinct edge over an electric albeit very predictable Thundering Herd offense.

Final Score: Thundering Herd 83 Musketeers 94 Spread:

South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Clemson Tigers

For once, there are now several SEC teams that you can point to and see immense improvements from just a year ago. Although the Gamecocks set the bar incredibly high last season when they reached their first Final Four in program history, this is a team that still has aspirations of getting back to that pinnacle and then some. Underrated defensively (65.2 PAPG), the Gamecocks are reliant upon the rebounding and shot blocking skills of veteran forward Chris Silva (8 RPG, 1.5 BPG). Similarly, the Tigers have a stingy defense of their own (64.4 PAPG) as three of their five starters average at least one steal per game while four of their five starters average at least 4.4 rebounds per game. While the rebounding prowess of the Gamecocks is intriguing, the Tigers are a bit more opportunistic when it comes to forcing turnovers and have a much more potent offense to take advantage of the extra opportunities.

Final Score: Gamecocks 73 Tigers 78 Spread:

Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks vs. Missouri Tigers

Notorious for being March Madness spoilers, the pesky Lumberjacks look to have assembled another sleeping giant thanks to an efficient offense (81.5 PPG) and defense (67.6 PAPG). Averaging 13 steals per game with a team field goal percentage of 48.1%, the Lumberjacks have a well-balanced roster that can affect the outcome of a game in a multitude of ways. However, the Tigers have a dynamic roster of their own as they can play the glass effectively (41 RPG) and shoot high percentage shots from inside the arch (48.8 FG%). Although the opportunistic defense of the Lumberjacks will keep this game very close, the Tigers have the advantage as far as garnering rebounds and moving the ball effectively to find the man with best opportunity to score (17 APG).

Final Score: Lumberjacks 69 Tigers 71 Spread:

Connecticut Huskies vs. Arizona Wildcats (18)

Although the Huskies have yet to look like an American Conference contender this season, their aggressive albeit inconsistent defenses has shown flashes of greatness. Snatching 38 rebounds per game, the physical Huskies have the fearless playmakers that can keep the opposition off-balance by taking away coveted second chance opportunities. While the Wildcats have had their issues with rebounding and overall defense (73.8 PAPG), their offense has usually been stellar this season thanks to the scoring abilities of Alonzo Trier (22.3 PPG) and the rebounding prowess of Deandre Ayton (12 RPG). Even with their scrappy defense, the Huskies inept shooting capabilities will ultimately see them succumb to a Wildcats program that has rarely struggled to score big this season.

Final Score: Huskies 75 Wildcats 89 Spread:

Gonzaga Bulldogs (12) vs. San Diego State Aztecs

Although the Bulldogs have stuttered occasionally this season, their offense has almost always been prolific enough to save the day (91 PPG). Despite several unimpressive defensive performances (75.3 PAPG), the Bulldogs starters have been able to tap into their elite shooting capabilities on a regular basis as all five of their starters are averaging double digits when it comes to points per game. Conversely, the Aztecs have been at their best when their defense is firing on all cylinders (64.2 PAPG). Averaging 41 rebounds per game, the vigilant Aztecs are exceptional when it comes to bringing down contested rebounds and are above average when it comes to shooting from the field as a team (45.1 FG%). While the Bulldogs elite offense is difficult to bet against, the fact that the Aztecs can both prevent shots and take away second-chance opportunities gives them a distinct albeit very slight edge in this contest.

Final Score: Bulldogs 74 Aztecs 78 Spread:

Northwestern Wildcats vs. Oklahoma Sooners (17)

While it’s obvious that the Wildcats have failed to live up to their initial top-25 preseason ranking, it is somewhat noteworthy that they have not lost in back-to-back contests. With a strong defense that has been their saving grace (64.8 PAPG), the Wildcats have done just enough in stifling their opponents to remain in the middle of the pack in the Big 10. Unlike the Wildcats, the Sooners are dreadful on defense (80.4 PAPG) but have been able to make up for it with a gifted offense (93 PPG) that is led by one of the deadliest shooters in the country in Trae Young (28.8 PPG, 8.9 APG). Although the Wildcats should be able to score consistently against the porous defense of the Sooners, Oklahoma is much better at rebounding the basketball (41 RPG), which will all but extinguish the Wildcats chances of pulling off a massive upset.

Final Score: Wildcats 78 Sooners 95 Spread:

Xavier Musketeers (9) vs. Northern Iowa Panthers

As mentioned before, the Musketeers are supremely talented on offense and are slowly but surely improving on defense. While the Panthers have a top-five defense that has kept them competitively relevant this season (59 PAPG), they are, to put it lightly, anemic on offense (68.6 PPG, 10.7 APG). As fans and pundits know all too well, an elite defense can cover up a lot of deficiencies, but rarely is it enough to overcome elite opponents that know how to make the most of their opportunities when it comes to shooting the basketball.

Final Score: Musketeers 86 Panthers 70 Spread:

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. North Carolina Tar Heels (5)

Although the Big 10 conference has been trending downward this season, the sneaky Buckeyes are currently third in the conference right behind Purdue and Michigan State. Despite their constant struggles offensively, the Buckeyes defense has finally turned the corner as they have held their opponents to 67 points per game or less during their four-game winning streak. Since losing to Michigan State in embarrassing fashion a few weeks ago, the now dynamically dominant Tar Heels have looked much more disciplined and confident on both offense (87.2 PPG) and defense (71.3 PAPG) during their five-game winning streak. Although the Tar Heels weak link is still their stumbling defense, their two consummate playmakers in Joel Berry II and Luke Maye have proven to be the catalysts for the Tar Heels when they need a final push to win in tight game situations.

Final Score: Buckeyes 77 Tar Heels 84 Spread:

Kentucky Wildcats (7) vs. UCLA Bruins

As always, John Calipari has done a fantastic job at praising and disciplining his young roster at just the right moments to get the most out of them. With their athletic offense trending upward (81.3 PPG) and their once inconsistent defense starting to look at least competent (69.2 PAPG), the Wildcats are clearly hitting their stride and will be especially deadly once SEC play commences. Until then, the efficient rebounding unit of the Bruins (41.7 RPG) will attempt to spoil the good times for the overly confident youngsters of the Wildcats. Unfortunately for the Bruins, their offense performs erratically and their defense is decidedly below average at best (75.6 PAPG), which should allow the tenacious Wildcats to score early and often en route to another impressive victory.

Final Score: Wildcats 91 Bruins 75 Spread:

Kit Harrington Reveals The Worst Part About Being Jon Snow

HBO

Look, super fans are super weird, and it doesn’t really matter what industry we’re talking about. This much we know.

Whether it be music groupies or comic book nerds of Game Of Throners (throners = Thrones + boner), the people who get dressed up in costume and go to conventions and chase the actors around the world are plain weird. Sorry if you’re one of them, but you need to find a way to better spend your time then camping outside of Kit Harrington’s Belfast hotel.

Now, all that said, Harrington just needs to have a little self-awareness and keep these concerns to himself, which he generally tends to do. Trust us, Kit, us normals understand how much it would suck to be Jon Snow-famous. I wouldn’t wish that level of fame on my psycho ex-girlfriend.

But you know what else sucks? Poverty, dude. You know what also kind of sucks, Kit? Living paycheck to paycheck — definitely blows.  So yes, while his gripes are understandable and legitimate, they are comparatively laughable to the problems us normals face.

via The Guardian:

Thronesmania is, he acknowledges, “bizarre and weird”. “Like, being in Spain and there being a crowd of 500, maybe 600 fans camped outside the hotel every day, and you have to get through them. It feels like being Bieber or something.”

When Snow became the brooding heart-throb of the Thrones world, Harington became a kind of boyband pin-up, too. “Yeah,” he sighs. “I don’t particularly enjoy that.” He catches himself. He speaks of his “privilege” often and is acutely conscious of anything that sounds like he’s whining. “I don’t know. Do I? I’m glad I’ve experienced it, but that’s what I mean about it being eight years, then it’s done. You couldn’t go on for much longer. It’s a bit incessant.”

In all honesty, Harrington does seem like a good dude who gets it. But, when you’re making more money than 99% of the world, you have to be very, very careful with where, how, and when you complain.

Seriously, Kit, by all means, bitch about the pervy fans who creep you out, just do it behind closed doors. We get that being wildly famous, rich, and handsome can be a mildly annoying sometimes. Plus, is anyone actually sure this guy can actually act? Or is he going to be stuck in a Friends/Seinfeld scenario where he never lands another role because people only see him as Jon Snow? Only time will tell.

Top 25 College Basketball Rankings 2017: Week 7 AP Poll

Although there was not an immense amount of shakeup within the top five (only Wichita State, ranked third, lost this past week), there were still plenty of intriguing upsets that noticeably altered the bottom of the rankings. Most notably, the well-disciplined Pirates fell eight spots from 15th to 23rd after losing to an unranked Rutgers program. Similarly, the Wichita State Shockers were overwhelmed by a then-unranked Oklahoma Sooners program that was relentless at shooting the basketball from start to finish.

Top 25 College Basketball Rankings 2017: Week 7

While the red-hot Sun Devils only jumped from fifth to third in the rankings, their gutsy, defensive victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores was noteworthy for a team whose success has largely been predicated on an accurate and efficient offense. In terms of unranked teams that emphatically forced their way into the top-25, the Oklahoma Sooners proved that their style of shoot first and ask questions later is more than enough to overcome some of the top teams in college basketball. While the Sooners will need to improve on defense to hold a coveted place in the top-25, their high-octane offense should be able to carry them for the foreseeable future until they can establish a much more well-rounded competitive identity.

As the fearless Sun Devils continue to rise upwards in the rankings, those who have doubted Arizona State’s competitive legitimacy have been quickly shamed for their disbelief. This is the Sun Devils first time being ranked third in the country since 1981, a notable milestone that could be outdone in the coming weeks if this program continues to perform this well consistently.

Irish Dude Goes To Thailand And Yup, You Guessed It, Gets Drunk & Raises Hell

Don’t get me wrong, being Italian is great and all, but god damn do I wish I was Irish. Those bastards just have more fun. Have you ever seen their fans at a soccer game? The Irish team absolutely STINKS, but despite that, every fan treats every game like its the World Cup final. That’s what some good ale will do for ya.

However, as fun as a drunken Irishman, or any drunk person, maybe, there’s also that dark side. Take me, for example. In high school, I accidentally drank lighter fluid and in college, I gave a $50 bill to a homeless guy (in my defense, he claimed it was for his daughter, which was a lie). My point is, we all do stupid shit when we’re drunk, but the key is to make sure its harmless stupid shit.

This is an example of the opposite.

Agust Gudmundsson (hell of a name) was arrested while visiting Thailand after he pepper sprayed checkout girls to steal cigarettes and something called “alcopops.”

via Daily Mail:

Gudmundsson, 49, stormed into the Tesco Lotus store, demanding booze. Staff refused to serve him because he was aggressive and drunk – which sent the middle-aged man into a rage.

He fired a bottle of pepper-spray at the two girls before walking behind the counter and grabbing packets of cigarettes and several bottles of ‘Spy Wine Cooler’, a sparkling wine. But the robber failed in his getaway bid and was caught a few metres after stumbling and falling over outside the store in Pattaya, Thailand.

Footage shows the man, who police said was Irish, handcuffed on the ground spitting and swearing at the reporter while yelling ‘hey, f*** you’. Shaken shop assistant Wassana Haru, 28, said: ‘We saw him walking outside then he came in and asked for alcohol.

Pattaya City Police kept Gudmundsson in the drunk tank until he sobered up before charging him with drunken behavior.

Look, I don’t care how tough of a drunk Irishman you are, Thailand jail is NOT a place I would like to end up under any circumstances. You ever seen The Hangover 2? Place is a human jungle.

The Atlanta Falcons (8-5), who currently own the 6 seed in the NFC playoffs, head down to Tampa Bay to take on the Bucs (4-9), who are looking to play spoiler and ruin the Falcons postseason chances.

The Bucs, who were a trendy preseason pick to reach the playoffs this year, have been nothing short of a disaster this year, as Jameis Winston and Mike Evans are both having their worst seasons yet.

As for the Atlanta Falcons, while they’ve shown glimpses of the Super Bowl team they were a year ago, what they lack is consistency. If the Falcons lose tonight, they will fall to 8-6, putting them even with the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. If the Falcons win, they’ll have a crucial one-game advantage in the ultra-competitive NFC.

While the Bucs are out of the playoff race, tonight’s game won’t be lacking intensity, so make sure you find out how to live stream the Atlanta Falcons take on the Tampa Bay Bucs here.

No one has been identified yet as the conductor of the Amtrak Cascades Train 501 that derailed in Washington that left multiple people injured and at least six people dead. The train, operating from Seattle and Portland, derailed south of Tacoma, Washington. 77 patients were taken to hospitals in Pierce and Thurston counties with injuries. There were approximately 78 passengers and five crew members on board the train.

The new train service, the Cascades Point Defiance Bypass route, just began today. Reportedly, Lakewood city council members were concerned about the speed of the train. It is unclear at this time how fast the train was moving at the time of the accident. The train, which runs between Tacoma and Olympia, was traveling south out of Tacoma before derailing onto Interstate 5. The train was traveling at about 80 MPH at the time it derailed, with traffic below traveling at around 70 MPH.

Early reports indicate that track obstruction is seen as the possible cause of the crash. An official says “preliminary signs indicate that the Amtrak train may have struck something on the track before going off the track

Amtrak is instructing individuals with questions about their friends and family on train 501 should call 800-523-9101.

Audio of the conductor’s radio transmission call was released by CNN:

“We were coming round the corner to take the bridge over I-5 there uh, right north of Nisqually and we went on the ground.”

President Trump politicised the fatal accident, saying on Twitter:

“The train accident that just occurred in DuPont, WA shows more than ever why our soon to be submitted infrastructure plan must be approved quickly. Seven trillion dollars spent in the Middle East while our roads, bridges, tunnels, railways (and more) crumble! Not for long!”

Gunpowder premieres tonight on HBO. Kit Harington stars in this gruesome and critically acclaimed drama that is set to premiere tonight on HBO. The three-part BBC miniseries, Gunpowder,  will be introduced to American audiences tonight. The show is based on the Gunpowder Plot which unraveled in London in the year 1605. That plot was a failed assassination attempt on King James I of England and VI of Scotland by a group of English Catholics led by Robert Catesby (Harington’s character). The series has already been criticized for scenes of torture, nudity, and disembowelment.

Gunpowder has already aired in the United Kingdom. Here’s a Tweet from someone who feels traumatized after watching an episode…

Harington says that viewers will accept “a greater level of violence as long as it’s justified”.

He added that “We can’t avoid the executions that the people around these men suffered. And I think it’s wrong when showing a torture scene or execution, I think it’s wrong to shy too far away from the reality of it. You need to feel the reasons, to know why they go and do the things they do.”

Episode 1 takes place in 1603 during the war between England and Spain. Meanwhile, the persecution of Catholic grows to a fever pitch and a young nobleman steps in to defend his faith and avenge his kin by any means necessary.

Last week, we brought you the story of Rutgers Sigma Chi being accused of allegedly spiking the punch at a mixer with a sorority with Xanax.

According to documents obtained through the Open Public Records actby the Daily Targum, members of Sigma Chi allegedly used Xanax to drug members of a sorority during a mixer at the start of the 2017 Fall Semester.

The Targum filed the records request following the fraternity’s closure in November. At the time of the closure, no reasons were specified, but the fraternity was no longer authorized to display the organization’s letters or operate out of the fraternity house.

While the sorority’s name was redacted from the report, a source for the Targum said that it was Sigma Delta Tau that was at the mixer with Sigma Chi on the night in question.

via The Daily Targum:

At the start of the fall semester, she said Sigma Delta Tau, was invited to attend a mixer with Sigma Chi at one of the fraternity’s satellite houses.

“We used to mix with Sigma Chi a lot,” the source told The Daily Targum. “We had a lot of important mixers with them, like our big/little mixer, so as a sorority we were pretty comfortable with the fraternity. Then one night, at a mixer the weekend of Sept. 16, they put Xanax in the juice.”

The source said the brothers of Sigma Chi were the only ones who had access to the communal container of alcohol that night.

According to the written testimony, the mixer started out as a closed event between the fraternity and sorority. Around 11:30 p.m., Sigma Chi opened the event to the public, allowing approximately 100 people into the basement of the venue. In addition to a 30 pack case of Keystone Light, the fraternity reportedly provided an orange athletic container filled with a mixture of alcohol and fruit juice.

A number of women in Sigma Delta Tau mentioned this juice “tasting funny” and having a “chalky” texture, according to the report. Within the next few hours, individuals who had consumed as little as half a cup of the substance began reacting negatively to it.

While Rutgers University did not confirm the details for the Targum’s report, they did say in a statement that Sigma Chi has been suspended due to “policy violations.”

The national Sigma Chi organization responded to the allegations against the Rutgers chapter, releasing the following statement:

“All operations and activities of the chapter are terminated until August 2020, after which the national organization may consider establishing a chapter with new members, without the involvement of suspended members,” Rutgers University Spokesman John Cramer said in the statement, adding that officials found no evidence to support the drugging allegations.

“The suspension is unrelated to allegations that Sigma Chi members spiked punch with Xanax during a party in September 2017. The university’s student conduct and police investigations found no evidence to support those allegations,” the university said.

Rutgers Sigma Chi has been shut down until August 2020.
