Sophia Bevarly Instagram: Best Photos & Must-See Pictures

They say you either day a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Now, while I’m not saying that Dan Bilzerian has become a villain — because he’s still a dude hero — but he’s certainly evolved. Or devolved, depending on how you look at it.

That’s right, folks, the King of Instagram is officially wifed up.

via Square Mile:

“Bilzerian is experiencing something of a lull. There’s this misconception – not entirely dissuaded by his Instagram – that he’s wasted every other day. In truth, he barely even drinks anymore. He hasn’t played poker for six months: “When I won I didn’t give a fuck, and when I lost I’d be really irritated. It was just a recipe for unhappiness.” Perhaps the most surprising development is Sophia – the man who once slept with 17 girls in a week is currently in a monogamous relationship.

Even Bilzerian sounds a little confounded. “Yeah. Got a girlfriend. First time. Well, I had a girlfriend before, but I was still fucking other girls.” He met Sophia at a marquee pool party. “Wasn’t exactly your storybook love at first sight. I think I fucked like three girls before her that day. We just started hanging out… She’s a little different, you know? She’s smart, she’s cool, and she liked a lot of the shit I like. So here we are.”

In all seriousness, though, it’s tough to blame the guy — you can’t be popping bottles in Vegas clubs until you’re 50. Well, you can, but it’s not necessarily the best look or lifestyle.

So if you’re going to get locked down, might as well have it be a smokeshow blonde who’s 16 years younger than you.

Daniel William Michaels, a 18-year-old freshman at the State University College at Oneonta, died on Sunday, December 3.

According to an email sent to all students and faculty from SUNY Oneonta President Nancy Kleniewski, Michaels, 18, was a business economics major from Dix Hills on Long Island. While specific details surrounding the death were are not available, several students said Michaels had been at a fraternity party on the night of Saturday, December 2.

The Daily Star reports that about 300 students and faculty gathered for a mass in his honor in the college’s Hunt Union Ballroom.

Michaels was reportedly pledging the Alpha Pi fraternity, a Greek group not officially recognized by the university. A preliminary toxicology report indicates that Michaels had a mix of amphetamines, benzodiazepines and alcohol in his system.

via The Daily Star:

Daniel William Michaels, an 18-year-old from Dix Hills on Long Island studying business economics, was found unconscious on a couch at 34 Academy Street shortly after midnight, Brenner said. Students interviewed said that Michaels lived in Tobey Hall on campus and was pledging the Alpha Pi fraternity, a Greek group not recognized by the university.

A group of students picking up a friend at the address noticed Michaels and alerted someone who lived at the house. A student called 911, but as police officers were responding Michaels was transferred to A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle. He was in cardiac arrest on arrival and died a short time later, Brenner said.

A preliminary toxicology report was positive for amphetamines and benzodiazepines, but the amounts of the drugs will not be available until a full report is released in about four weeks, according to Otsego County Coroner Terry Knapp.

Michaels had a relatively small amount of alcohol in his system below the legal limit, Knapp said, adding that the drugs may have been ingested separately or combined as an ecstasy or “molly” capsule or powder.

The University says that counseling services are available at Tobey Hall from staff members in the Counseling Center and Office of Residential Community Life.

A GoFundMe was launched to create a scholarship in Michaels’ name. At the time of this writing, $13,000 has been raised.

A full toxicology report is set to be released in four to six weeks.

Following Terrifying Monday Night Football Injury, Ryan Shazier’s Prognosis Is Looking Positive

In the first quarter of their Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier was carted off the field with an apparent back injury that appeared to be life-altering.

As he was attempting to make a tackle, Shazier’s neck folded like an accordion, causing his legs to go limp and for Shazier to immediately grab his lower back. Simply put, it was one of the more gruesome-looking scenes in the NFL that I can remember, leading many fans — myself included– to believe that we had just witnessed a man become paralyzed a la Eric LeGrand.

While the game carried on without a positive update about Shazier, not long after the final whistle, news broke that Shazier’s condition was improving.

According to a statement from Steelers GM Kevin Colbert, Shazier’s injury will NOT require surgery and he hopes to return to Pittsburgh today. Given the severity and visceral nature of Shazier’s injury, this news is nothing short of a miracle.

Shazier’s injury was truly horrifying– so much so that some Steelers are reportedly now “scared to play football”— so hearing that it turned out to be not as bad as it looked is a massive relief for football fans, and human beings, nationwide.

Get well soon, Ryan.

Harvard Is The Latest University To Consider Doing Away With Greek Life

Yesterday, we brought you the news that Indiana University had decided to suspend all Greek Life activities until the spring semester, becoming the latest major university to make a major decision regarding fraternities. Today, we bring you an update from Harvard.

In July, a Harvard University committee proposed a ban on all student fraternities, sororities, and single-gender clubs. According to The Crimson, the proposal, which aims to ban groups the committee says have had a “pernicious influence on undergraduate life”, would apply to incoming freshmen.

The proposed ban was created by a committee formed to study whether new rules could make the prestigious university more inclusive. The ban is largely aimed at secretive all-male social clubs, which administrators say have problems with sexual assault and alcohol abuse.

via The Crimson:

In a 22-page report released Wednesday morning, the committee proposed that the policy—which would replace existing penalties for members of the social groups that are set to go into place in the fall—apply to students entering in the fall of 2018.

“All currently enrolled students including those who will matriculate this fall will be exempt from the new policy for the entirety of their time at Harvard,” according to the report. “This will lead to a transition period, whereby USGSOs would be phased out by May 2022.”

The committee suggested that Harvard model its new social group policy very closely on those enforced by Williams College and Bowdoin College, both of which forbid students form participating in social clubs during their time as undergraduates.

According to the committee, the ban could prevent hazing and alcohol-related tragedies similar to those seen at other colleges recently. The ban was modeled after similar bans at Williams College and Bowdoin College. Until the proposal is reviewed, the university’s current social group policy, which is slated to last until the Class of 2021, is still in effect.

Harvard becomes the latest major university to consider major Greek life overhaul, after major schools such as joining the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State.

The latest update came a couple of weeks ago as the Faculty of Arts and Sciences continued the debate over unrecognized single-gender social organizations (namely, fraternities and sororities). You can read the full report on the on-going debate about Greek Life at Harvard over on Harvard Magazine.

University Puts Bus Company On Blast For ‘Racist’ Ad Telling Students “You Won’t Feel Like You’re In China”

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has condemned a bus company for an ad they claim to be “racist.” On Sunday, the university charged the busy company Suburban Express with expressing opinions that “are offensive, bigoted, insulting and in direct opposition to the values of this university.”

The privately-owned Suburban Express provides shuttle service in the Chicago area. Now, they’ve been put on blast by a nearby college for an ad that was sent out to students. The ad addressed the students as “Passengers like you” and suggested, “You won’t feel like you’re in China when you’re on our buses.”

Suburban Express “distributed an advertising message that once again demonstrated the company’s disregard and disdain towards the values of inclusivity that define our university,” according to a joint statement from three university officers.

The bus company has since apologized for the ad, saying that their intention was to target a competitor, not as a statement of racism. However, it has not named the competitor they were targeting.

“We made a remark based on the fact that our competitor mostly handles Chinese international students,” said Suburban Express in their second e-mail addressing the incident. “The remark is being interpreted as a slap in the face of all non-Caucasians for some reason, and that is not how it was intended.”

“In any event, we did not intend to offend half the planet,” said the bus company at the end of one of their e-mails regarding the controversy.

The Asian Pacific American Coalition has also condemned Suburban Express’ bus ad, labeling it as “dehumanizing and disgusting to our Asian classmates and friends.” The coalition also remarked that they would not accept the bus company’s “racist non-apology.”

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign maintains the position that Suburban Express expressed opinions mirroring a full-blown racist.

“We cannot prevent a private company from operating in our community,” said the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. “But we can, loudly and unambiguously, say that the opinions expressed by Suburban Express are offensive, bigoted, insulting and in direct opposition to the values of this university.”

On Sunday, Suburban Express released a statement to their Facebook page, publicly apologizing for their bus ad that has been called “racist” by both the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Asian Pacific American Coalition.

“Suburban Express welcomes students of all nationalities on our buses.

Suburban Express was founded in 1983 by a sophomore U of I student who was dissatisfied with transportation options on campus — schedules, equipment quality, driver attitude, and other attributes. Since the founder was a student, he knew exactly what students needed and wanted, and he took on Greyhound and other companies and won.

Suburban Express grew and grew, and the University of Illinois grew and changed. As the University changed, Suburban Express services changed. Computerized ticketing, automated ticket machines, and then Internet ticketing were introduced — before other companies even considered them.

Along the way, Suburban Express encountered cheaters who cost Suburban Express and its customers thousands of dollars — bad check writers, people who reverse credit card charges for services they used, people who made and used counterfeit tickets. Suburban Express believed that it would be doing a disservice to the world if it did not hold the budding new adults who cheated it responsible for their actions.

Suburban Express has therefore consistently held students to their commitments and promises. This approach has not been popular with cheaters. With the advent of social media, a small number of cheaters have the ability to amplify their complaining and anger, and convince other cheaters that they have been wronged. Suburban Express has received many black eyes over holding students to their commitments and promises.

In 2013, an employee of a subcontracted bus company made an inappropriate comment to a non-english-speaking customer. We agreed that the comment was inappropriate and we promptly apologized. Nevertheless, a student agitator made it his full-time job to tell the world that Suburban Express is racist based on the comment which we agreed was inappropriate, and for which we apologized. He filed a lawsuit against Suburban Express and went so far as to convince Highland Park Police to arrest the founder, for online comments which the agitator himself may have posted. The judge in the matter, who found the founder not guilty, essentially stated that she had no reason to believe that the agitator had not posted the comments himself.

Unfortunately, the 2013 episode caused many students from countries in Asia to abandon Suburban Express and ride a competing company. We were very saddened by the loss of those riders. We meant them no harm, and we felt we were being unjustly punished.

When we wrote a recent promotional email, we mentioned that Suburban Express riders would not encounter Chinese exchange students on our buses. That’s because they all ride our competitor now. It was an ill-advised statement to make, because it upset the very people we were sad to have lost.

Suburban Express welcomes students of all nationalities on our buses. Anyone who says otherwise is trying to further their own agenda.

We apologize for our insensitive statement, and we hope to do a better job of unifying the campus community in the future, from our office in the heart of campustown.”

What will be Sami Zayn’s consequences for striking Randy Orton with a chair and costing him a match against KO? Zayn clearly violated the rules of SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon who instructed “The Underdog of the Underground” to stay away from ringside during the main event. Technically, Zayn wasn’t at ringside, he was in the crowd where he struck Orton with a steel chair.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will have a big challenge to contend with tonight as she is set to battle the fierce Tamina Snuka.

Dude Goes All Food Network On His iPhone After He Promised He’d Eat It If Georgia Made The CFB Playoff

Ah, the art of the scolding hot sports takes — what a true gift to mankind.

Skip Bayless somehow comparing anthem protests to Tim Tebow’s run with the 2011 Broncos. Stephen A. Smith wondering if referees’ black and white uniforms are actually a subtle social commentary about race in this nation. Jim Rome literally getting assaulted. All of these glorious moments, both real and fake (Jim Rome literally got beat up), are a result of sports takes.

Except, as we all know too well, far too often ludicrous sports takes (and takes in general) go unpunished and unchecked. Perfect example: a couple of weeks ago, John McAfee (the dude who made McAfee anti-virus) literally said he would eat his DICK (his DICK!!!) if Bitcoin didn’t hit $1 million by 2020. And why was he able to stake such a preposterous claim? Because no one would hold him accountable if he didn’t follow through, and frankly, no one would have the right too, as we’ve all backed out of prior proclamations in one way or another (“Sure, let’s TOTALLY chill next weekend”)

Well, internet, it appears that we have found our White Knight — it appears that we have found a man who sticks to his word.

Andrew Stephens, the creator of Armchair All-Americans, said prior to the 2017 college football season that he would “eat his phone” if the Georgia Bulldogs earned a berth to the college football playoff. Fast forward 4 months, 12 wins, and one SEC Championship later, and those very Georgia Bulldogs find themselves as the #3 seed in said playoff.

Now, a lesser man would have buried this hot garbage take, acting like it never happened and hoping the internet forgot.  But not Andrew — Andrew stepped up to the plate to not only eat his damn phone (which, true story, I once drunkenly bit into my iPhone in college & it was NOT fun) but made a wildly hilarious video in the process, going all Food Network on his Apple technology.

So stand up and take a bow, Andrew, because you are what few people are in this world — a man of his word. Are your college football takes maybbeeee a little too hot for your own good? Probably, but dammit, we respect it.

Sports Illustrated

Beyonce made a surprise appearance at the Sports Illustrated Awards to present Colin Kaepernick with the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award, who promised that “with or without the NFL’s platform, I will continue to work for the people.”

Brought out by presenter Trevor Noah (host of The Daily Show), Beyonce said she was “proud and humbled” to present the award to Kaepernick, who she said ” took action with no fear of consequence or repercussion, only hope to change the world for the better.”

Kaepernick, who began kneeling during the national anthem while quarterback the San Fransisco 49ers in 2016,  sparked a wave of protests by NFL players during the anthem that repeatedly have been denounced by President Donald Trump.

via ESPN:

He spoke Tuesday about continuing Ali’s legacy of fighting social injustice, saying the boxing great “mentored me without ever meeting me.”

“The footprints he leaves are large,” Kaepernick said, “and his life is and has been a multitextured tapestry that is rich in love, wisdom, life lessons and human kindness. I can only hope that I’m taking steps toward walking on the footsteps that he has left behind for the world to follow.”

The show will be broadcast Friday night on NBC Sports Network.

Official Proof That Mike Pence Is A Treasonous Bastard: He Once Ratted Out His Frat Bros For Having A Keg

This dude Mike Pence may be the biggest weenie on the face of the Earth.

He can’t be alone with other women who aren’t his wife. Doesn’t believe in evolution. And now we find out his most damning quality of all: he’s a f*cking rat. And not just any rat, people, but the kind of rat that rats on his OWN rats. That’s one rat f*ck.

According to Newsweek,  Pence once reportedly snitched on his Phi Gamma Delta fraternity brothers for having a keg at a party on his college’s dry campus, getting the entire house in trouble. Folks, if you didn’t think Pence was a psycho before, well, here’s your proof, because you gotta be some kind of lunatic to stab your own fraternity in the back.

It’s … it’s almost like an agent of a foreign nation infiltrating a glorious brotherhood in order to undermine their way of life. Sounds a little familiar, eh?

via Newsweek:

Pence, then a sophomore at Hanover College, alerted the dean that his brothers were violating the small Presbyterian school’s strict no-alcohol policy, his former fraternity brother Dan Murphy told The Atlantic in a profile published on Tuesday.

At the time of the incident, the fraternity was reportedly having wild parties re-creating its favorite scenes from Animal House, which had recently been released. Pence “was not a particularly hard partier” but oversaw his brothers’ complicated plans to sneak alcohol into the house and was in charge of ironing out any issues with adults if things went wrong.

During one rowdy bash, the brothers found out a dean was coming to the house and tried to hide evidence of their illicit activities, according to the article. The future vice president greeted the dean at the door and proceeded to direct him straight to the kegs, telling the official they belonged to Phi Gamma Delta, his former brother said.

This was a major departure from the fraternity’s usual practice: Whoever answered the door took the blame for the booze so the whole house wasn’t formally disciplined, according to Murphy. But after Pence allegedly snitched, the entire fraternity was handed a harsh punishment.

So leave no doubt about it, folks, Mike Pence is a snake. We’ve all met that dude before, and unfortunately, our Vice President is that dude.

Week 14, Fantasy Football Start ‘Em 2017: Who To Start This Week

The Playoffs are finally here! For those that received a coveted playoff berth, congratulations on making it this far. However, for those that just missed or were nowhere near making it to the playoffs, do not fret, we’ve all been there. While it can be easy to quit participating and quickly put this season in the rearview mirror, it is almost always more satisfying to continue on and keep setting your lineups. Although winning your league may be out of the question, there is almost always something worth fighting for in the final weeks of fantasy football. Whether it’s to avoid last place or to knock down a playoff contender down a peg in the standings, there are still a multitude of ways to make a serious impact on your league even if you’re not participating in the playoffs.

Marcus Mariota, QB, Tennessee Titans (vs. Arizona Cardinals)

While it has been tough sledding for the Titans offense this season, Mariota is performing at a much higher level than he did earlier in the season. Besting his fantasy point projections four out of the last five weeks, Mariota has been much more accurate recently (completed no less than 65% of his passes in his last three games). While Mariota’s overall touchdown to interception ratio is a glaring concern (10 touchdowns, 12 interceptions), a favorable matchup against the Arizona Cardinals (have allowed 31 passing touchdowns this year) should allow the finicky quarterback to be highly productive this week.

Dion Lewis, RB, New England Patriots (vs. Miami Dolphins)

Since the Patriots bye week, Dion Lewis has scored double-digit points in his last four games. Effective as a rusher, pass catcher and special teams returner, Lewis’ versatility has made him the top back on the Patriots roster. Rushing for no less than fifty yards since week 10, Lewis is fantastic at making the most out his somewhat low volume share (5.3 yards per rush). With the best juke rate amongst running backs (42.5%), Lewis should be able to easily gash a Dolphins defense that is particularly porous when it comes to stopping the run.

Josh Gordon, WR, Cleveland Browns (vs. Green Bay Packers)

Despite a lengthy hiatus from football, Gordon picked up right where left off against the Los Angeles Chargers (four receptions, 85 receiving yards). Considering Gordon was targeted 11 times against a formidable Chargers secondary, his production and target shares should increase fairly dramatically against a Packers team that allows the third most points to wide receivers.

Hunter Henry, TE, Los Angeles Chargers (vs. Washington Redskins)

Since week 8, Hunter Henry’s target shares have steadily increased from two to five to nine last week against Cleveland. Catching 12 of his last fourteen targets, Henry is extremely reliable and has been a go-to target for quarterback Phillip Rivers when he is not throwing to wideout Kennan Allen. With an impressive catch rate of 71.7% (4th amongst tight ends), Henry should have no problem earning his tight end one status against a Redskins team that has struggled to cover tight ends all season long.

In “Duh, No Shit” News, NBC Employees Are Scared To Go To South Korea For The Winter Olympics

Where are the top three places in the world you wouldn’t want to go right now? Is the same island as Kim Jong Un one of them? So I thought.

And apparently, you and I aren’t the only ones who feel that way, as reports indicate that NBC employees are hesitant to sign up for the Winter Olympics because they are “afraid to get nuked”.

Now, let’s think about this logically (somewhat logically, at least): first, an Olympic event does present a unique opportunity for a psychopath to launch a nuclear attack, no doubt about it. But, because it is the Olympics, it is a worldwide event, which means that if Lil Kim really did have the sack (he doesn’t) to attack an Olympic event, he would literally be waging war against the entire world, which, objectively, would be a ballsy endeavor.

However, NBC staffers don’t seem to agree.

via Page Six:

NBC staffers are gun-shy about volunteering to work at the upcoming 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games, sources tell Page Six, because of tension in the region.

An insider told us that usually NBC staffers are enthusiastic about being sent to the games for work. But with the upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang — a remote South Korean city 40 miles south of the demilitarized zone that’s changed the capitalization of its name for the games, so as not to be confused with neighboring Pyongyang, North Korea — some workers are choosing to stay home.

“They usually all want to sign up for the Olympics, but they’re afraid to get nuked,” said a source. But another insider told us, “If NBC News employees have concerns about attending, they are not required to go, as was the policy with [the Rio Summer Olympics in 2016] and Zika fears.”

Kim Jong Un is an idiot but is he stupid enough to not only attack America but most of the world’s most powerful nations? Unlikely. Either way — you won’t catch me in either of the Koreas anytime soon.

Wisconsin High School Teacher Arrested For Allegedly Having Sex With Student In A Hotel

Ripon Police

Samantha Fitzpatrick, a 28-year-old former Ripon High School teacher, has been charged with child enticement and sexual assault of a student after she was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.

According to the criminal report, Ripon Police received a tip on April 24 from someone who said she had information regarding an “inappropriate relationship” between Fitzpatrick and a student. The unidentified student told police that the victim and Fitzpatrick had “done stuff” at a hotel in Ripon.

Following this, police spoke with another teacher at Ripon High School who said she noticed the victim was in Fitzpatrick’s classroom a lot. While Fitzpatrick denied that she was having a sexual relationship with the student, police say they found “extensive electronic communication by phone including the use of Facebook Messenger.”

The student also denied having a relationship with Fitzpatrick, telling police that she had given him rides and he “had joked about having sex with her.”

via Action 2 News:

The victim denied having a relationship with Fitzpatrick. He told police that she had given him rides and he had joked about having sex with her.

Phone records show 67 phone calls from the victim’s phone to Fitzpatrick’s phone. The victim’s phone number had been deleted from Fitzpatrick’s phone, but investigators were able to extract data. Officers were able to view Facebook messages between Fitzpatrick and the victim. The messages were sent between Nov. 2016 and May 2017.

The criminal complaint states that an officer saw “sexually graphic messages” between Fitzpatrick and the victim. The messages include descriptions of sex acts they would perform on each other. Some messages refer to apparent sexual encounters between the teacher and the student.

In some messages, Fitzpatrick expresses her love for the victim, according to the complaint. In one set of messages, Fitzpatrick appears to be soliciting sexually-explicit images from the victim.

Fitzgerald resigned from Ripon High School back in May and an arrest warrant was issued on December 5.

The Ripon Area School District released the following statement about Fitzpatrick’s charges:

“In May of 2017, the district shared the attached information with high school parents about an investigation regarding allegations of improper conduct by former employee Samantha Fitzpatrick. We are sharing this information with all district parents today as we are aware the investigation involving former employee Samantha Fitzpatrick is complete and a criminal complaint with charges has been issued. We have just received this information and will respond once we have an opportunity to review and understand the criminal complaint.”

This is the latest in a string of teacher/student sex scandals this year. In November, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers was arrested. Former nutrition teacher LaToya Parker was also arrested for a relationship with a student. Florida teacher Caroline Lawson was charged with sexual assault. 26-year-old Allyson Moran was also arrested for similar crimes. The 23-year-old high school teacher Katherine Ross Ridenhour was also arrested for an inappropriate relationship.

Furthermore, Hunter Day, 22, was also arrested after a sting operation. Megan Kotarski was also arrested on similar charges. Michelle Schiffer, a 23-year-old history teacher in Texas, was also charged and arrested for allegedly having sex with a teenage student. 29-year-old Alyssia Marie Reddy was arrested in Maryland for her crimes in New Jersey.
