A junior student at the Fox School of Business, James Orlando, was found dead in an off-campus apartment, making him the second student at the school to endure a sudden death this week.

Two students, James Orlando and Michael Paytas, have been found dead within a week’s span

Orlando had been pronounced dead after police came to the scene. At this time, foul play is not suspected, although his official cause of death is still under investigation, through the city’s Medical Examiner’s Office.

Orlando is not the only student attending the school to have died this week. Another student, Michael Paytas, attending the school, was also found dead earlier in the week at the school’s Paley Library the previous Monday. He had initially been found unresponsive but was later proclaimed dead while at the hospital.

In a statement, according to Temple News, university officials have released the following:

We are extremely saddened by the passing of James Orlando, a third-year business student from Reading, Pennsylvania. He was 20 years old. We grieve alongside everyone who knew James and encourage all members of the Temple community to think of and pray for his loved ones.

A friend of Orlando, Zach Williams, had set up a GoFundMe page to help his family, called the “James Orlando Memorial Fund.” As the page reads:

James was a carefree fun loving [sic] guy, he cherished moments with his friends. He was always first to crack a joke to ease tension and the first to make someone feel welcome.

Marcus Peters is an American football player, a cornerback, for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League.

Over the years, Peters has shown to be quite the valuable player, earning awards very early in his professional career. That said, even before his professional career started, Peters had also developed the reputation for letting the stress of the game getting the best of him, even causing him to once be dismissed from a team over disciplinary issues.

In a December 2017 game, Peters went viral after throwing a penalty flag into the audience.

Marcus Peters’ Net Worth 2017: $9,584,160

Peters’ salary cap charge is $2,613,862, with a total contract value and guarantee of $9,584,160. Despite having such money burning a hole in his pocket, stress can get to the best of players and it can lead to interesting situations. Regardless, let’s look at Peters’ career on the field so far.

The Early Years

Peters attended high school in Oakland, California, where he played football and track, ending up to a three-star recruit as he reached college age. Starting at the University of Washington in January 2011, he got his first foray into college football, although he was eventually dismissed from the team as a junior.

2015-2016

In spite of that, Peters was recruited in 2015 for the Kansas City Chiefs. Even in his rookie season, he proved himself winning various awards, including the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. By 2016, he later ranked 32nd on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017.

2017-Present

During a Week 13 game, against the New York Jets, Peters threw a penalty flag out of play into the crowd, causing him to be flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, although the penalty was later declined. While it initially appeared that he had been ejected from the game, it was later confirmed he retreated, later returning to the field without playing for the rest of the game. Interestingly enough, he was seen not to be wearing socks at the time. According to ESPN, coach Andy Reid explained the situation:

That’s why he left the field. I don’t know what was said to him or not said to him. But he thought he was. That’s why he came back out.

Regardless of the situation, the Jets lost 31-38.

College Football Playoff Final Rankings 2017: Must-See Team Ranks

With the final week of the college football regular season in the books, the landscape for the postseason has been firmly cemented in place. For the likes of Oklahoma and Clemson, it was a foregone conclusion that both programs would receive a place in the Playoff after two dominating victories over their respective conference championship opponents. However, Alabama was one of two teams that were on the outside looking in and were fortunate enough to be the beneficiaries of some slight chaos. Although there were some pundits that believed the battle-tested Ohio State Buckeyes should have been in the final four despite two losses, the Crimson Tide earned the benefit of the doubt as their lone loss came against a formidable SEC opponent in Auburn on the road.

College Football Playoff Rankings 2017: Final Week

For both Ohio State and Wisconsin, it was a highly disappointing turnout for the BIG 10 as the Buckeyes victory over the Badgers kept both teams from receiving a Playoff berth. Considering the Badgers were one crucial victory away from clinching a spot in the Playoff, the end result of being 6th overall has to sting tremendously. While Buckeye fans will vehemently exclaim that they were unjustly snubbed from the Playoff, the fact is that Ohio State was rewarded with a spot in the top four last year despite not participating in a conference championship game. Now, Alabama has understandably been given the same opportunity to prove that their reputable pedigree as a competitive football program is for real.

After another exhilarating season of college football, the highly anticipated contests of the postseason should be a thrilling send off. With Clemson and Alabama squaring off for the third year in a row in the Playoff, dedicated fans will get to witness what is an unprecedented showdown between two perennial Playoff contenders. On the other side of the bracket, the crushing defense of Georgia will face the best offense in the country in the Oklahoma Sooners.

Alvin Kamara

Source: YouTube/NFL Game Recap

Alvin Kamara is an American football running back for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL, formerly playing college football for the University of Tennessee.

Although he only started his professional, post-collegiate career in 2017, he became the third rookie in NFL history with over 600 rushing yards and 600 receiving yards in a season.

Alvin Kamara’s Net Worth: $964,443

Kamara’s 2017 salary cap charge is $708,193, while his annual contract is valued at $964,443, with a guarantee of $972,772. Let’s take a look at his career and see how he has earned his money!

The Early Years

Kamara was born in Georgia to Liberian parents. Growing up, he got his first shot on the field playing high school football. Starting his college career, Kamara originally attended the University of Alabama and Hutchinson Community College, before ultimately going to the University of Tennessee.

2015-2016

At the University of Tennessee, Kamara originally played under Butch Jones. By the conclusion of the 2016 season, Kamara certainly proved himself, being able to forgo his senior season to enter the 2017 NFL Draft, although he only started in around a third of his games.

2017-Present

In early December 2017, Kamara had been able to score a third-quarter touchdown against the Panthers. According to SB Nation, this could help him score the title of “Offensive Rookie of the Year.” As described on social media, the situation helped paint Kamara as an underdog.

According to ESPN:

Kamara leads the NFL with 7.0 yards per carry this season. And he has already become just the third rookie in NFL history with more than 600 rushing yards and 600 receiving yards in a season — with four games still to play.

But the number that means most of all is 9-3. That’s where the Saints are now, sitting alone atop the NFC South standings.

Madeline Entine, a sorority sister at Ohio State University, is suing the school after officials told her to move out of her dorm because her service dog was causing another student to have allergic reactions.

Entine, a sophomore who suffers from panic attacks, lived with her support dog Cory who knows when she is having an episode, cause her to she have fewer attacks.

The student and her dog were forced to move out after OSU sophomore Carly Goldman complained that the inflamed her allergies and triggered her Crohn’s disease.

Both students Both live in the Chi Omega sorority house at The Ohio State University.

via CNN:

Madeleine Entine, a sophomore, sued the school’s ADA coordinator for forcing her and her service dog to move. She says the school violated the Americans with Disability Act and the Fair Housing Act in making its decision. Entine says she suffers from panic attacks, ones so severe they interfere with her daily activities.

“The panic attacks restrict her breathing ability and cause her to hyperventilate. They also cause her muscles to lock up and prevent her from walking on her own,” court documents said. So Entine gets relief from Cory, a service dog. Cory is trained to climb on her stomach and apply pressure. That helps bring her relief so she can restore her ability to breathe and move, court documents say. He also helps her have less frequent attacks.

Court documents say Cory exacerbates the other sister’s “allergies and asthma, which, in turn, causes a flare-up of Housemate’s Crohn’s disease.” According to court filings, the dog is regularly played with by others throughout the house.

The university offered to move either student to other housing, however, they both refused.

Alyssia Marie Reddy, a 29-year-old New Jersey English teacher, has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old student.

Reddy, 29, was arrested on Friday, December 1, on charges institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility and corruption of a minor.

An English teacher at the Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey, a school which charges $38,100 per year for tuition, Reddy was arrested by the Baltimore County Fugitive Task Force in Maryland and is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania. Following Reddy’s arrest, St. Paul’s School for Girls — located in Baltimore County — terminated her employment.

According to reports, the unidentified student said in he received messages from Reddy saying, “I want your hands on me.”

via NBC:

In December 2016, Reddy gave the student her cell phone number and then added him on Snapchat, according to the police records. The student said in February 2017 he received messages from Reddy saying, “I want your hands on me.”

About three weeks after that, Reddy picked up the student from a friend’s house in Solebury, Pennsylvania, drove him to a nearby park and had sex with him, according to the police report.

Police received the first report of the incident on November 20. In a statement to parents, the school said they had reported the case to prosecutors after being made aware of it. The school said it is cooperating with law enforcement, and that the head of the school plans to meet with students Monday.

Reddy had since left the school and moved to Maryland. A Baltimore television station reported that Reddy had been teaching at the St. Paul School for Girls near Baltimore, and that she had been fired.

Reddy was charged with institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility and corruption of a minor.

St. Paul’s School for Girls, the school that Reddy was working at when she was arrested, issued the following statement about the allegations:

Dear Members of the St. Paul’s School for Girls Community,

We have just learned that one of our Upper School teachers, Alyssia Reddy, who joined our faculty this year, has been charged with a felony involving sexual assault of a minor. The alleged events took place in Pennsylvania this past school year with a male high school student before she came to St. Paul’s School for Girls. This news is deeply disturbing to all of us and saddens us. We have terminated Mrs. Reddy’s employment with St. Paul’s School for Girls, effective immediately. Mrs. Reddy is barred from campus and we discontinued her access to the school’s computer network. Before today, we had no information suggesting any prior improper conduct by Mrs. Reddy.

The safety and well-being of all our students is our top priority. It is our most sacred trust.

What is most important for you to know is that our policies and procedures, as well as the professional training for all members of faculty and staff are comprehensive and reflect our steadfast commitment to protecting our students. Prior to hiring Mrs. Reddy, we performed a thorough background check, as we do with all new employees. Our training includes a code of conduct, with clear definitions of what is – and is not – acceptable behavior. We discuss the importance of maintaining appropriate boundaries between faculty and students.

A professional from Baltimore Child Abuse Center conducts annual training regarding the duty to report so that members of our faculty and staff, including coaches, know and understand that they should immediately report behavior by any member of the staff which they find inappropriate.

A separate message to our Upper School families regarding staffing changes is forthcoming.

We understand that this news is troubling and that you may have questions. Please know that I welcome your call and would be happy to talk with you. And if you have any concerns regarding student safety, please share them with me immediately.

We are deeply grateful for your continued trust and confidence in St. Paul’s School for Girls. Thank you.

Dr. William S. Hawkey, the headmaster at St. Paul’s, met with all students on Monday, December 4, to answer any questions regarding the incident. Furthermore, school counselors and advisors will also be made available.

This is the latest in a string of teacher/student sex scandals this year. In November, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers was arrested. Former nutrition teacher LaToya Parker was also arrested for a relationship with a student. Florida teacher Caroline Lawson was charged with sexual assault. 26-year-old Allyson Moran was also arrested for similar crimes. The 23-year-old high school teacher Katherine Ross Ridenhour was also arrested for an inappropriate relationshipHunter Day, 22, was also arrested after a sting operation. Megan Kotarski was also arrested on similar charges. Michelle Schiffer, a 23-year-old history teacher in Texas, was also charged and arrested for allegedly having sex with a teenage student.

College Basketball Power Rankings 2017: Week 5 Rankings

As non-conference play continues, programs from lesser conferences will attempt to bolster their resumes with wins against college basketballs elite power five programs. In particular, the Xavier Musketeers asserted themselves on both offense and defense with impressive wins over two ranked opponents in Baylor and Cincinnati. Early victories such as these will be vital in the Musketeers being ranked favorably in the NCAA Tournament, assuming of course that they are able to maintain this level of dominance when they have to go up against conference opponents in the Big East. While there is still plenty of time for under the radar programs to garner impressive wins, establishing the necessary continuity to become a title contender by the end of the season has to be essential for every competitive team.

1. Duke Blue Devils

While the Blue Devils have played from behind more often than not, their talent-laden roster has allowed them to overcome what would usually be considered insurmountable deficits against great teams. Although the Blue Devils will not face a ranked opponent until mid-January, this is a great time for the best team in the country to become even better before conference play commences.

2. Michigan State Spartans

In their last two contests, the Spartans have stifled their opponents defensively (62.3 PAPG) while looking especially efficient on offense (scored 80+ points in their last two games). Given the depth and elite talent of Miles Bridges, the Spartans have to be considered a favorite to make the Final Four and to potentially win a title by the end of the season.

3. Kansas Jayhawks

Since winning a tight contest against Kentucky at the beginning of the season, the Jayhawks have cruised to one victory after another. Thanks to their potent and disciplined offense (91.9 PPG, 20.3 APG), the Jayhawks have looked the part as being one of the best teams in the country. With a fearless Arizona State program coming up at the end of the week, the Jayhawks will need everything they have on their roster to keep pace with the feisty Sun Devils.

4. Villanova Wildcats

While it’s difficult to currently gauge the ceiling of the Wildcats due to their relatively easy schedule thus far, their steady contributions on both offense (86.4 PPG) and defense (61.6 PAPG) appear to be legitimate. Led by Mikal Bridges (17.9 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 2.5 SPG) and Jalen Brunson (17.9 PPG, 4.5 APG), the Wildcats clearly have the talent to be highly competitive on both sides of the ball and will get to prove their greatness against Gonzaga coming up.

5. Miami Hurricanes

With their defense performing at an elite level this season (57.6 PAPG), it was impressive to witness the Hurricanes offense step up to take down a dynamic opponent in Notre Dame. The Hurricanes uptick in their offense has been the result of the rebounding prowess of Dewan Huell (5.6 RPG) and Bruce Brown Jr. (8.6 RPG). If the Hurricanes can be this effective at rebounding and inside shooting, they will have a well-balanced team that can take them to incredible heights this year.

6. Florida Gators

The best scoring team in college basketball (99.5 PPG), the Gators have been relentless when it comes to outshooting their respective opponents. While the Gators have not been great on defense when it comes to allowing points (80.7 PAPG), they have been consistent when it comes to rebounding the basketball (40.2 RPG), something that has been vital in providing extra opportunities for their offense to score at a torrid pace.

7. Wichita State Shockers

Despite playing in a new conference and starting off the season being ranked 6th in the country, the scrappy Shockers have faced every daunting situation with impressive poise. A jack of all trades program, the Shockers have been proficient at shooting (87 PPG), rebounding (46 RPG) and passing (18.7 APG) the basketball. While the Shockers do not have a player on their roster that is averaging more than 14 PPG, they have proven that playing unselfishly and intelligently is more than enough to overcome the more athletic teams in college basketball.

8. Kentucky Wildcats

With the Aggies nipping at their heels, the Wildcats need their youthful roster to establish the elite continuity that has allowed them to be the best program in the SEC for years. Impressively, both Kevin Knox (16.6 PPG, 5.9 RPG) and Hamidou Diallo (13.6 PPG, 4.8 RPG) have come along nicely as immensely talented two-way threats. As the season progresses, the obvious inexperience of this team will become less and less relevant as coach John Calipari continues to craft one of the youngest rosters into one of the best.

9. Texas A&M Aggies

Barring serious injuries, the Aggies have the size and talent to be one of the best programs in the country. A sensational rebounding program, the Aggies massive duo of DJ Hogg (16.9 PPG, 7.7 RPG) and Tyler Davis (13.6 PPG, 8 RPG) has been instrumental in allowing them to shut down great offensive programs consistently. If the Aggies can continue to wear down their opponents as they have thus far this season, the Kentucky Wildcats will have some serious trouble at winning the SEC by the end of the season.

10. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

After looking nearly flawless on defense, the Fighting Irish were overwhelmed by the size and physicality of Michigan State last week. While this does not condemn the Fighting Irish as being pretenders, it’s obvious that their abilities on offense will be what wins them tight games against elite opponents. Simply put, the performances of Bonzie Colson (18.8 PPG, 9.8 RPG) and Matt Farrell (15.9 PPG, 4.6 APG) will dictate the future success of a Fighting Irish program that has the potential to be a serious contender in the ACC.

11. Xavier Musketeers

One of the most exciting teams to watch in college basketball, the Musketeers have looked highly impressive since relinquishing 102 points in a loss to Arizona State. Defeating both Cincinnati and Baylor with relative ease, the Musketeers displayed their ever-rising ceiling on both offense (89 PPG) and defense (69.9 PAPG). If Trevon Bluiett (20.8 PPG, 5.6 RPG) and J.P. Macura (4.9 RPG, 1.9 SPG) can continue to be this effective on both sides of the court, the Musketeers could feasibly sustain their current success as non-conference play continues.

12. North Carolina Tar Heels

If you want to figure out which teams have the best chance at being competitive at the end of the season, look no further than the confident Tar Heels. After losing in embarrassing fashion to Michigan State earlier in the season, the Tar Heels regrouped and emphatically dispatched their next three opponents, scoring no less than 85 points in those victories. With Luke Maye (20.8 PPG, 10.3 APG) and Joel Berry (16.5 PPG) rightfully leading this team to consistent success, the Tar Heels will only get better as their younger players continue to develop.

13. Gonzaga Bulldogs

Aside from a shootout loss to the Gators, the Bulldogs have been sharp offensively (92.9 PPG) thanks to their impressive ball movement capabilities (18 APG). Guard Josh Perkins (4.5 APG) has been impressive as the Bulldogs leading passer while Johnathan Williams has been vital for Gonzaga as a consistent inside scoring threat (15.9 PPG, 54 FG%). Undoubtedly, the coaching of Mark Few will allow this team to fix any deficiencies in a timely manner before they face Villanova next.

14. Cincinnati Bearcats

After looking nothing short of merciless at the start of the season, the well-rounded Bearcats hit a road bump against a red-hot Musketeers program. While the Bearcats displayed compelling efficiency as far as field goal percentage (42% ), their ineffectiveness from three-point range (28.6%) and inconsistency from the charity stripe (62.5%) cost them a prove it win against Xavier. With Florida coming up next, the Bearcats will have an opportunity to right the ship and display the dynamic dominance that made them an intriguing program to start the season.

15. Minnesota Golden Gophers

Despite a close loss to a well-coached Miami program, the Golden Gophers should still feel great about how well they have performed at both shooting (89.4 PPG) and rebounding (43.7 RPG). Similar to the Duke Blue Devils, the Golden Gophers are heavily reliant on their big man in Jordan Murphy to be an exceptional rebounder (12.9 RPG) and paint scorer (21 PPG). If guard Nate Mason can become more assertive as a shooter in big games, the Golden Gophers can take the next step from being great to becoming an elite program in college basketball.

16. Virginia Cavaliers

Unsurprisingly, the Cavaliers have been exceptional on defense (50.6 PAPG)  and not so great on offense (70.5 PPG). Nevertheless, the Cavaliers physical albeit one-dimensional style of basketball has been incredibly effective despite having just two players that average double-digit numbers when it comes to points per game. While the Cavaliers recipe for success will never be a pretty sight, it has proven to be decidedly dominant this season and will likely remain that way until an opposing offense can decipher how to penetrate their defense consistently.

17. USC Trojans

If the Trojans continue to be this inept on offense (75.7 PPG), the potency of their defense will be irrelevant as the season progresses (67.7 PAPG). With Bennie Boatwright (has shot less than 35% from the field in last two games) and Jordon McLaughlin (has shot 30% or worse from the field in two out of his last three games) struggling to shoot effectively against stout defenses, the Trojans should feel a sense of urgency to make adjustments, lest they become lost in the Pac-12.

18. West Virginia Mountaineers

After a rough start to the season, the Mountaineers have demolished their opponents on defense (66.6 PAPG) and offense (89.6 PPG). Led by Jevon Carter on offense (19 PPG) and defense (4.5 SPG), the Mountaineers have a fantastic leader that can take over games as both a ball facilitator (5.5 APG) and shooter. With Virginia coming up next, the Mountaineers will have a fantastic opportunity to prove that their recent dominance is not a fluke.

19. Arizona State Sun Devils

A prolific shooting program (92.7 PPG), the Sun Devils have emphatically emerged as a relentless offensive team early in the season. With the Sun Devils top scorers shooting no worse than 42% from the field, it’s easy to see how this team has rallied to take down the likes of Kansas State and Xavier. If guard Tra Holder can continue to do it all for the Sun Devils on both sides of the court (22.1 PPG, 6 RPG, 1.9 SPG), this program should continue to excel as the season continues.

20. Baylor Bears

While the Bears are elite defensively (63.1 PAPG) their ineffective offense (73.6 PPG) has been to their detriment against worthy opponents. With point totals of 63 and 62 in losses to both Xavier and Wichita State, the Bears have lacked essential production from Manu Lecomte (FG% has varied from 25% to 46.2 % in last five games)  and Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. (had just four rebounds in each of the Bears last two games). Without the dynamic skill sets of the aforementioned players, the Bears will continue to struggle against the reputable competition.

21. Seton Hall Pirates

With two vital victories over Texas Tech and Louisville, the one loss Pirates have leaned on their stingy defense (68 PAPG) while their offense has stepped up just enough to win close affairs (80.6 PPG). Active as both a consistent scorer (20 PPG, 53.1 FG%) and defender (1.1 SPG), Desi Rodriguez has been the dynamic spark for the Pirates thus far this year and should continue to be the consummate leader for a program that has lofty aspirations of potentially winning the Big East.

22. TCU Horned Frogs

Quietly, the Horned Frogs are still undefeated (8-0) and are anxiously awaiting an opportunity to prove their worthiness of being a sleeper Big 12 program. While the Horned Frogs lack a dominant scorer, this has more to do with their exceptional ball movement skills (20.1 APG) rather than being ineffective on offense. With Jaylen Fisher at point guard, the Horned Frogs have a consummate playmaker that possess a strong feel for the game and has the capabilities to take high percentage shots (5.8 APG, 49.3 FG%).

23. Purdue Boilermakers

Since losing back to back games against Western Kentucky and Tennessee, the Boilermakers have looked like the defensive juggernauts (67.1 PAPG) everyone expected them to be this year. Holding three of their last four opponents to under 70 points, the Boilermakers have been consistently opportunistic at taking away possessions thanks to the tenacity of P.J. Thompson (1.5 SPG) and Dakota Mathias (1.3 SPG). If the Boilermakers can continue to be this instinctual on defense while Mathias (15.5 PPG) and Carsen Edwards (16.3 PPG) carry the team offensively, Purdue could easily compete for a Big Ten title by the end of the season.

24. Louisville Cardinals

With back to back losses to Purdue and Seton Hall, the Cardinals are barely hanging on to their place in the rankings. Since last week, the Cardinals already anemic passing abilities looked noticeably worse against stiffer competition (14.5 APG during week 3, 12.7 APG during week 4). However, the most glaring issue that the Cardinals are dealing with is their inability to score consistently (76.8 PPG), something this program has to fix quickly if they hope to stay relevant in the highly competitive ACC.

25. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Despite a tough loss to Seton Hall, the Red Raiders have continued to be prolific on offense (82.7 PPG) while their defense has the potential to be one of the best in the country (60.1 PAPG). Assuming veteran guard Keenan Evans can continue to be a skillful two-way threat (15.9 PPG, 2 SPG), the Red Raiders should be a constant nuisance in the Big 12.

Indiana University’s Interfraternity Council has announced that they are suspending fraternity social events and unsupervised new member activities until the spring semester.

The Indiana University-Bloomington’s IFC met with chapter presidents, releasing a statement saying that the vote to self-impose a three-month suspension was unanimous. While under suspension, Phi Delta Theta is not allowed to participate in any campus activities or have any social events.

According to the chapter’s profile on the university’s website, Phi Delta Theta fraternity has a “zero-tolerance hazing policy as well as alcohol-free housing.”

“We are suspending all social activities in which alcohol is present and unsupervised new member education programs effective immediately until February 28th, 2018. During this time, we will be having active conversations with the key stakeholders in our community to arrive at concrete solutions to enhance the health and safety of this community,” IFC president Andrew Cowie said in a statement.

The university-wide suspension comes after multiple IU fraternities have been suspended over the past few years.

via The Indy Channel:

While it wasn’t immediately cleared what precipitated the vote, the move comes following the suspension of several fraternities at IU over the past few years – most recently the Beta Eta chapter of the Sigma Nu fraternity.

In October, the Sigma Nu national organization said its IU chapter was expected to serve a three-year suspension over violations of the school’s alcohol and hazing policies.

“I think this is a great example of students having self-governance over their own communities. I applaud them for being proactive in addressing the issues that our greek community faces before we have an incident like Penn State or FSU,” said Dan Niersbach, IU’s student body president.

The suspension will last until February 28, 2018.

IU becomes the eighth university to suspend Greek Life this year, joining the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Texas State, Florida State, Ball State, Louisiana State and Penn State.

As the calendar changes from November to December, the competitive elite in college basketball will look to establish some distance between themselves and the rest of the country. However, programs such as Xavier and Wichita State will look to battle fiercely in non-conference play to keep themselves at the top of the weekly rankings. Between now and mid-March, there will be a plethora of programs competing for supremacy while others will seek to garner impressive wins now to have a chance at simply making the NCAA Tournament. Undoubtedly, upsets will abound and unknown programs will become competitive sleepers as this week unfolds.

NCAA Football Conference Championships 2017: Highlights & Must-See Details

Conference Championship Saturday once again was one of the best Saturdays of the year. There was non stop action and excitement from the first kickoff to the last kneel down. There were so many great games on it was hard to watch them all. Maybe you missed a game or 2, or you don’t really care for college football but want to sound like you know what you’re talking about at work. Im here to help so here’s a little cheat sheet so you can keep up with all that happened and not make a fool out of yourself at the water cooler.

PAC-12 Championship

Stanford 28, USC 31

Sam Darnold. Thats all you ever have to talk about when it comes to USC. Darnold had another fantastic game throwing for 325 yards and 22 TDs. He controlled the ball and orchestrated a 99 yard drive in the 4th Quarter to lock up the game including a 65 yard pass out of his own end zone. Bryce Love still got his rushing for 125 yards and a TD on 22 carries but it wasn’t enough. USC won their conference championship with only 2 losses but does not seem to be receiving much love to make the Playoff. If the Trojans don’t make the playoffs it will be interesting to see what happens with Sam Darnold.

Conference USA Championship

North Texas: 17,  Florida Atlantic: 41

Lane Kiffin led his team to a 24 point victory to claim the Conference USA Championship. Usually this wouldn’t be big news but anything with Lane Kiffin is worth talking about. FAU was the better team clearly even leaving a ton of points on the board with bad blunders, such as when John Franklin III started celebrating before scoring and dropped the ball short of the goal line. The FAU fans started chanting “We Want Bama” after the game, Lane Kiffin found this amusing. When asked what he thought about it in the post game presser he responded “I would love to play Bama, I’d feel sorry for our players, but I’d like it.”. Lane knows that the athletes Alabama has our far superior and the coaching is just as good if not better. Kiffin will have his shot at Alabama eventually… if he takes the Tennessee job.

AAC Championship

Memphis 55, UCF 62

Holy points! this game did not lack scoring. This might be one of the best conference championship games I’ve ever witnessed. The over in the game was set at 81 the highest ever for a championship game! and they demolished it scoring 117 combined points! the most ever in a conference championship. Besides just the points some of these players just had themselves a day. Ryan Ferguson of Memphis was 30-42 for 471 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INTs. That one pick came in Overtime and lost Memphis the game, besides that Ferguson played his ass off. Only to be outdone by his favorite target Anthony Miller, who went berserk hauling in 14 catches for 195 yards and 3 TDs! Too bad those heroic efforts came up short. Mekenzie Milton threw for 494 Yards 5 Tds and 3 INTs, while Tre’Quan Smith had 6 catches for 161 yards for 2 TDs. The real stand out for UCF was Shaquem Griffin, he had 6 Tackles including 2 sacks, did I mention that the dude has only 1 hand!? During the 4th quarter news broke the UCF Head Coach Scott Frost would be taking the Head Coaching position at his alma mater Nebraska. When Asked about it Frost deflected from it not wanting to take any attention away from what his team had just accomplished. UCF handled it the best way possible (Insert tweet)

BIG 12 Championship

TCU 17, Oklahoma 41

Baker and the boys took care of business. They quickly jumped out to a 10-0 lead following a scoop and score and they did not look back. Baker had 243 yards and 4 TDs on only 15 completions while also scampering for 65 yards on 6 carries including a 54 yard run. Everyone knew Oklahoma was going to win even TCU head coach Gary Patterson said “it’d be best for the conference of Oklahoma won” This was basically a live practice for a team who has its sights set on a much bigger prize.

SEC Championship

Georgia 28, Auburn 7

This game was close for the first 3 quarters. Auburn jumped out to a 7-0 lead right away and looked like they were about to make it 14-0 when Sonny Michel strip sacked Stidham which lead to a Georgia TD. Georgia never looked back taking a 10-7 lead into the half. entering the 4th it was 13-7 Georgia when Aubrun star RB Kerryon Johnson fumbled. to Kerryon’s credit he’s been battling a serious shoulder injury and was clearly playing hurt. That fumble lead to another Bulldog TD making it 21-7. On Georgia’s next drive D’Andre Swift took it 64 yards to the house on what is the longest run even in a SEC championship game. Georgia avenged their only loss of the season and will be rolling going into the college football playoff.

ACC Championship

Miami 3, Clemson 38

The U was finally back in the ACC Championship game and looking to try and claw their way into the playoff. But Kelly Bryant hard other ideas, The Tigers came out firing and seemed to catch Miami off guard. Clemson went into halftime up 21-0 and in clear control. They came out in the 2nd half the same way defeating Miami by 5 touchdowns! It was the Tigers rushing game that really stood out running for 4 TDs. Clemsons defense showed why its one o the best in the nation recording 4 sacks, forcing 3 fumbles and reeling in 2 picks. Clemson will take the #1 seed going into the College Football Playoff.

BIG 10 Championship

Ohio St. 27, Wisconsin 21

Despite having the worse record Ohio St came into this one a 4 point favorite. Wisconsin’s Offense looked completely overmatched failing to score its first offensive TD until the 4th Quarter. The Buckeye’s QB JT Barrett who had knee surgery 6 days prior to the game looked fairly healthy making plays with his arm and his legs, including a huge 4th down late in the 4th Quarter. He did make some bad throws including a pick 6 early in the 1st quarter. Ohio St were in control the whole game but the Badgers found ways to stick around. At the end of the day the speed and athleticism of Ohio St was just too much for them to handle.

Josh Brolin Says The Still Untitled ‘Deadpool’ Sequel Is Better Than The Original (Of Course)

20th Century Fox

Back in 2016, Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool took the world movie and comic book worlds by storm.

A superhero film unlike anything that had come before it, Deadpool breathed new life into the comic book film industry with it’s comedy, self-awareness, and R rating. In fact, the original Deadpool was so hilarious, that some people consider it more of a comedy than an action film.

But despite the fact that Deadpool was one of the funniest movies of the year, one of the biggest stars of the sequel seems to believe that the upcoming, still untitled Deadpool 2 is actually funnier.

Josh Brolin, who stars as Cable in the upcoming sequel, said he thought the script for Deadpool 2 was funnier than the original:

“It’s not that I don’t break the fourth wall. There’s a lot of stuff going on in [Deadpool 2] that’s very surprising and that will be very satisfying when you see it. To me it’s even funnier than the first one, to me. […] I read it and I laughed harder than I’ve laughed in a very long time.”

Similarly, TJ Miller, who starred as Weasel in the first film, shared a similar sentiment, telling Screen Rant that he laughed so hard he dropped his iPad while reading the script:

“I was crying so hard laughing that I dropped an iPad in a public restaurant when I was reading the script. […] I think it might actually be funnier than the first one. I’m really, really excited.”

However, Miller was keen to insist that it’s not going to be a Hangover 2 scenario, where they do the same thing with the same people in a different location:

“It’s not going to be like Hangover 2; it’s not going to be the same movie in a different location, for instance. It’s got different stakes. Different things happen. Some pretty tragic, dark sh*t happens in the first part of the film, in the beginning, and the rest of the film is kind of dealing with that, so that’s interesting. But Weasel remains just absolutely the most selfish individual on the face of the planet.”

Deadpool 2 will be released in theaters on June 1, 2018.

Tonya Harding Net Worth 2017: How Much Is Tonya Worth Now?

$

0

Tonya Harding is an American figure skating champion who is also a two-time Olympian, and a two-time Skate America Champion, winning the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and placing second at the World Championships, in 1991. She is also the first American woman to complete a triple axel jump in competition.

Harding became a controversial figure after her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, contrived with Shawn Eckhart and Shane Stant to break the leg of her competitor, Nancy Kerrigan, in 1994. After pleading guilty to hindering the prosecution concerning the attack, she had been banned for life from the U.S. Figure Skating Association.

A film adaptation of her life, I, Tonya, has an expected December 2017 release.

Tonya Harding Net Worth 2017: $30,000

Tonya Harding’s net worth is estimated to be around $30,000. Since leaving her skating career, Harding has tried various faculties to start a new career over the years, from music to boxing.

The Early Years

Harding started her skating career at some point in the 1980’s, notably placing sixth at the 1986 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The following two years, she placed fifth both times and went on to place third in 1989.

1991-1993

It was in 1991, she landed her first triple axel at the U.S. Championships, winning the title with the event’s first 6.0 ever given to a single female skater for technical merit. That same year, as Fall 1991 Skate America, she also became the first woman to complete a triple axel in the short program, successfully execute two triple axels in a single competition and complete a triple axel combination with the double toe loop.

1994-2000

Harding was a member of the American ice skating team for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Norway, where she finished in eighth place. In January, however, Harding’s competition, Nancy Kerrigan, was attacked by an assailant after a practice session during the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit. The attack only bruised Kerrigan’s leg but forced her to withdraw from the competition, with Harding winning the event. The attack also soon became a tabloid event at the time. During the aftermath, Harding eventually took a guilty plea with conspiring to hinder prosecution of the attackers, leading to three years probation, 500 hours in community service and a $160K fine. In addition, she was stripped of her  1994 U.S. Championships title and banned from USFSA events, after the organization concluded she was aware of the attack beforehand. Towards the end of the 90’s, Harding toyed with careers in music and acting.

2002-2010

In the early 2000’s Harding toyed with a boxing career, even appearing on the Fox TV network event, Celebrity Boxing. Eventually, she went on to boxing professionally. However, Harding would end up giving up boxing after a few years, attributing the shortness to her asthma. In 2010, she also toyed with a racing career.

2011-Present

A film adaptation of Harding’s life, I, Tonya, had been announced in 2016, with actress Margot Robbie playing Harding. Filmed in Georgia, it retold the events of the 1994 attack against Kerrigan, with the following aftermath ending Harding’s professional career. The film was released at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2017, with the United States release coming on December 8, 2017.

In a statement, as seen above, Robbie said that Harding had good things to say about her performance:

She was so gracious, she was amazing about [seeing the film]. Really, really amazing. She was very complimentary about what we pulled off, and she was really kind about my skating even though I’m nowhere near as good as I should be. Yeah, she was great.

As director Craig Gillespie said in an interview with IndieWire, the film attempted to portray Harding as an empathetic figure:

I really felt like it was there in Steven’s script that, by the end of the movie, we should empathize with her. I know it’s a tall order with such a huge public persona that we have, but I really felt it was possible with Margo’s performance, with this script … I heard [Tonya] was actually happy with it.
