WWE Survivor Series Kickoff Show

Kickoff Match: Elias vs. Matt Hardy

“The Drifter” Elias Samson comes out victorious against “The Broken One” Matt Hardy in the first match of the night.

Elias defeats Matt Hardy

Kickoff Match: WWE Cruiserweight Championship match: Enzo Amore vs. Kalisto

Enzo comes into this match like a great ball of fire, going on the attack. But Kalisto turns the tide with a flurry of kicks. Kalisto springboards off the ropes and performs an insane flip-powerbomb-pinning combo to Enzo who somehow kicks out at 2. Kalisto looked strong in tonight’s match, but Enzo still pulls off the win in the end. Just as I predicted, Enzo Amore went over Kalisto in tonight’s Cruiserweight contest.

Enzo Amore retains the WWE Cruiserweight Championship after defeating Kalisto

Kickoff Match: Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens vs. Breezango

Tonight’s the night for the villianous bbfs KO and Zayn to go over the ultra-fashionable Breezango.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn defeated Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango)

The New Day vs. The Shield

It’s going to be hard to top this one. After a back-and-forth match, it appears as if The New Day were going to come on top. They dominated The Shield, and Big E was about to put away Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins with a double Big Ending. But then Roman Reigns comes out of nowhere with a spear to break up the pin. The Shield and The New Day duke it out. Reigns nails a spear on Kofi Kingston. The Shield finish him off with a powerbomb from the top rope.

The Shield defeat The New Day

Women’s traditional Interbrand 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination match, Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown: Team Raw (Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Asuka) vs. Team SmackDown (Becky Lynch, Naomi, Tamina, Carmella, and Natalya) (with Lana)

Alicia Fox and Bayley square off to start tonight’s match-up. Fox goes wild, but Becky turns the tide and dominates. Bayley comes in to battle Becky who continues the punishment. Becky hits a becksploder, but Bayley rolls her up for the pin and elimination. Becky Lynch has been eliminated.

Natalya and Bayley battle. Nattie suplexes Bayley then tags in Tamina who keeps on her opponent. After more back and forth, Tamina takes out Bayley with a Superfly Splash. Bayley is eliminated.

Nia Jax and Tamina battle. Jax imposes her will on her opponent, dominating her smaller opponent. Tamina is a pretty big lady, but she’s no match for the monstrous Nia Jax. But Tamina somehow gains the edge and knocks Jax out of the ring with two consecutive super-kicks. Naomi takes out Jax with a splash from the top rope. Tamina comes out to fight Jax and ducks a clothesline. Snuka hits a superkick and then a splash from the steel steps. Tamina enters the ring and referee counts out Jax. Nia Jax is eliminated.

Alicia Fox is not the next opponent eliminated, as she’s pinned by Noami. Then almost immediately, Noami is eliminated via Sasha Banks’ Bank Statement submission hold.

Natalya and Sasha Banks clash. Nattie hits Sasha with a slap which only pisses off “The Boss.” Sasha kicks Nattie’s ass, but “The Boss” slips up and gets kicked in a Sharpshooter. Banks taps out. Sasha Banks is eliminated.

Asuka is truly unstoppable. She makes both Tamina and Natalya tap out to win the match.

Asuka wins.  She is the sole survivor for Team Raw

WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin

The Miz is very pissed off at Baron Corbin for talking about his wife. Miz threatens to knock his “f**king teeth down (his) throat” if he mentions Maryse again.

Miz hits the first shot to start off the match and then retreats. Corbin and Miz trade control of the match, but it appears as if “The Lone Wolf” Corbin has the edge over the “A-Lister” Miz. But with a little help from Bo Dallas, Miz turns the tide and dominates Baron Corbin. Miz locks in a Figure Four leg lock, but Corbin grabs the ropes, and then hits a Deep Six slam out of nowhere. Corbin goes for the cover. 1…2…kick out!

Baron Corbin continues the punishment. He even pulls Bo Dallas into the ring and takes him out. Corbin secures the first win for SmackDown with an End of Days finshing move.

WWE U.S. Champion Baron Corbin defeats WWE IC Champion The Miz

Raw Tag Team Champions The Bar (Sheamus & Cesaro) vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso)

The Usos reign supreme after a long, hard-fought match.

The Usos defeat The Bar

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair

Alexa Bliss dominated the lion’s share of this match. Bliss really kicked some ass. Her fatal flaw was taking a risk on the top rope, as Charlotte Flair put her knees up, hitting Bliss in the gut. Flair capitalized with a big boot followed by a Figure Eight leg lock for the win.

Charlotte Flair defeats Alexa Bliss

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Champion AJ Styles

Brock Lesnar completely annihilated AJ Styles’ for much of the match. Lesnar unquestionable imposed his dominance on his opponent. But Styles still fought back hard with a Phenomenal Forearm, and almost made Brock tap out with the Calf Crusher.

But then as AJ Styles springboarded off the ropes, he was caught by “The Beast” Brock Lesnar and sent crashing back down to the mat via F-5.

Brock Lesnar defeats AJ Styles

Men’s traditional Interbrand 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination match, Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown: Team Raw (Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe, Finn Bálor, and Triple H) vs. Team SmackDown (Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode, and John Cena)

This match was absolutely insane. In the end, Shane McMahon was the last man standing for Team SmackDown. Kurt Angle quickly dominated the heir to the WWE throne, trapping him in an ankle lock. Shane lasted in that submission a long time before “The Game” Triple H came in to break up the hold. He nailed a pedigree on Angle and then threw McMahon over the fallen Olympian. After Angle’s elimination, Triple H dispatches of Shane with a pedigree to win the match.

Triple H and Braun Strowman are the sole survivors of Team Raw

Post-Match: After Triple H and Strowman celebrate their victory, Strowman turns on Triple H, choking him into the corner and warning “The Game” not to mess with him. When Strowman turns his back, Triple H attacks. Strowman turns around and takes him out with a running powerslam. Triple H manages to get up to his feet and is leveled with another running powerslam for good measure.

College Football Power Rankings 2017: Week 13 Rankings

$
0
0

Despite the lack of competitive marquee matchups this week, several of the top tier teams were severely tested against perceived inferior opponents. Although many of the aforementioned “elite” programs ultimately ended up being victorious, several highly ranked teams (see Wisconsin, Notre Dame) were lucky to come away with wins that should have been easily achieved. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable to witness another competitive weekend in college football that on paper did not appear to be particularly intriguing. With the final regular-season matchups upcoming, programs that are comfortably in the College Football Playoff will attempt to hold serve while those on the outside looking in will valiantly fight to topple the accomplished opponents in front of them before Conference Championship contests commence.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

While the undefeated Crimson Tide are deservedly the best team in the country, they can firmly cement their dominance this season by dispatching a fierce Auburn program that now has a great quarterback to go along with an unforgiving defense. If Jalen Hurst can make enough big plays with his arm while using his athleticism to shake a relentless Tigers defensive front, the Crimson Tide will once again be the heavy favorites to win the National Title.

2. Clemson Tigers

Since their loss to Syracuse earlier in the season, the Tigers recent wins over Georgia Tech, NC State, and Florida State have been less than convincing. While Clemson’s defensive line is arguably the best in the country, their secondary has been much more porous as they have regularly given up big touchdown plays to quarterbacks that are not highly regarded as gunslingers. Still, the Tigers are deserving of a Playoff spot given their impressive resume and can make believers out of the most cynical critics with a convincing win over Miami in the ACC Championship Game.

3. Miami Hurricanes

Although the Hurricanes ultimately beat the Virginia Cavaliers 44-28 in their most recent contest, this team has to be better at evoking their killer instinct against inferior opponents. Luckily, Pittsburgh will be the last such team that the Hurricanes will have to contend with as they will face a championship-caliber Clemson program in the ACC Championship game in two weeks.

4. Oklahoma Sooners

While some may have issues with quarterback Baker Mayfield’s obscene gestures and abrasive disposition on the field, his competitive nature, and natural talent have resulted in him being the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. Completing more than 70% of his passes for 34 touchdowns and just five interceptions, Mayfield is a fearless gunslinger who has rarely put his team in a difficult position when it comes to winning tight football games. Assuming the Sooners beat West Virginia this week, Mayfield will most likely get another shot at dismantling one of the best defenses in the country (TCU) in the BIG 12 Championship Game.

5. Wisconsin Badgers

As has been the case for the Badgers this season, they are an undefeated team that still needs a decisive victory over a top-tier program to have a chance at making the Playoff. With a 24-10 victory over a formidable Wolverines run-defense, the Badgers should be pleased. Yet, considering the win was not particularly convincing, they will need to get over the hump of winning a BIG 10 Championship Game, something that has just eluded them in recent years.

6. Auburn Tigers

With a gifted quarterback in Jarrett Stidham (67.8 CMP%) and a top-10 defense (16.6 PAPG, tied for 8th in the nation), the Tigers are easily the best two-loss team in the country and could vault themselves into the Playoff if they win their next two contests. With top-ranked Alabama to contend with in the Iron Bowl, the Tigers will have to play top-notch football to defeat the best team in the country en route to an eventual rematch against a Bulldogs program that will be looking for blood.

7. Georgia Bulldogs

If the Bulldogs defense (14.4 PAPG, 4th in the nation) and their dynamic rushing attack (267.4 RYPG, 10th in the nation) can be as productive as they were before they faced Auburn, they will have a solid chance of winning the SEC Championship game. However, quarterback Jake Fromm has to be willing to take more shots downfield if the Bulldogs hope to overcome the elite defenses in the SEC.

8. USC Trojans

Despite quarterback Sam Darnold throwing one interception and zero touchdowns in a huge rivalry game against UCLA, running back Ronald Jones II (122 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Bruins) and the Trojans won a close one in thrilling fashion. With the PAC-12 Championship Game looming large, the Trojans will need to a complete performance to defeat their opponent in two weeks.

9. TCU Horned Frogs

With a win over Baylor to finish off the season, the Horned Frogs could feasibly get a chance at redemption against a Sooners program that picked apart their exceptional defense. However, TCU needs more production out of quarterback Kenny Hill (did not play against Texas Tech) and running back Darius Anderson if they hope to put pressure on an Oklahoma team that has proven to be supremely potent on offense. With a well-balanced approach, the Horned Frogs could surprise and defeat the Sooners, effectively spoiling their chance of making the Playoff.

10. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Considering how vulnerable the Fighting Irish looked in their close win over Navy recently, they could feasibly be on upset alert come this week when they face Stanford in their final regular season contest. While quarterback Brandon Wimbush was able to throw for two massive touchdowns late against Navy, their once dominant rushing attack looked fairly anemic compared to what it was before they were ripped to shreds by Miami two weeks ago. Although it’s hard to be sure at this point, it’s more than possible that the Fighting Irish have been exposed as being a one-dimensional offense that simply cannot overwhelm the top defenses in the country.

11. Ohio State Buckeyes

Since an embarrassing loss to Iowa, the Buckeyes have played with a merciless anger as they have demolished their last two opponents by a scoring margin of 100-17. When this team is firing on all cylinders, it’s easy to see why this program was selected by numerous pundits to make the College Football Playoff before the season started. With Michigan to finish out the regular season, the Buckeyes will need to bring the same no-nonsense attitude to take out the Wolverines while keeping a close eye on the defensively stout Wisconsin Badgers, who they will ultimately face in the BIG 10 Championship Game.

12. Penn State Nittany Lions

Even though the Nittany Lions scored 56 points in their victory this weekend, they needed nearly every bit of that offensive output to beat a decidedly below average Nebraska program. Once the best scoring defense in the country, the Nittany Lions have relinquished 27 points or more in three out of their last four games. Luckily quarterback Trace McSorley (24 touchdowns, eight interceptions this season) and running back Saquon Barkley (14 rushing touchdowns this season) have played at a high enough level to bail out a now porous defense.

13. Washington Huskies

While it has not always been pretty for the Huskies, their formidable defense (14.5 PAPG this season, 5th in the nation) and dynamic offense have looked like the real deal more often than not. Led by quarterback Jake Browning (69.1 CMP%) and running back Myles Gaskin (six yards per rush, 15 rushing touchdowns this season), the Huskies offense has been consistently efficient and has been held under 30 points only once this season. With the Cougars coming into town this week, this Huskies will get a chance to finish off their season with an emphatic win over a hated in-state rival.

14. Central Florida Knights

I don’t care who your opposition is. When you have the best scoring offense in college football (47.5 PPG) that is complemented by a great defense (20.5 PAPG, 27th in the nation), it’s simply impossible to discredit that type of balanced proficiency. Quarterback McKenzie Milton has been exceptional all season long (69.6 CMP%, 31 total touchdowns this season) and wideout Tre’Quan Smith (19.3 yards per reception) has been one of the most reliable and explosive playmakers in the country. With a highly-intriguing contest against South Florida to cap off the regular season, the Knights have a grand opportunity to finish out the regular season undefeated while putting themselves in a great position to garner a New Years Six Bowl bid.

15. Washington State Cougars

Without quarterback Luke Falk (66.8 CMP% this year, 3224 passing yards), you have to wonder how this Cougar program would have faired this season. Still, Washington State has been fortunate to have Falk this year along with a better than expected defense (22.9 PPG this season, 40th in the nation) that has kept this team in close games against the upper echelon of the PAC-12. With the Apple Cup against Washington upcoming, the Cougars can finish off what has been a very impressive season with a win against their fiercely hated rival.

16. Michigan State Spartans

With only one loss at home to Notre Dame this season, the scrappy albeit wildly inconsistent Spartans have allowed their fan base to be more euphoric than disappointed this season. While a blowout loss to Ohio State two weeks ago was perplexing, their resilient defense has been great for the most part and sophomore quarterback Brian Lewerke has shown signs of greatness this year, something that this relatively young program should be immensely excited about in the years to come.

17. Mississippi State Bulldogs

While you have to admire the unshakeable resolve of the Bulldogs, their losses to ranked teams in combination with their close victories over vastly inferior opponents (see UMASS, Arkansas) diminishes the aforementioned sentiment severely. As it stands, the Bulldogs will finish with a fairly impressive record, but cannot be considered anything more than an intensely competitive albeit slightly above average SEC program.

18. Oklahoma State Cowboys

Unlike Memphis, the Cowboys have not been able to overcome their defensive issues, despite having one of the most prolific offenses in the country (383.1 PYPG, 1st in the nation; 45.2 PPG, 2nd in the nation). Even with veterans such as quarterback Mason Rudolph (4115 passing yards, 33 passing touchdowns) along with wide receivers James Washington (21.6 yards per reception) and Marcel Ateman (18.8 yards per reception), the Cowboys have still struggled mightily to dispatch conference opponents (recently lost to Kansas State 45-40).

19. Memphis Tigers

I hate to sound like a broken record, but the Tigers defense is absolutely dreadful (32.6 PAPG this season, 100th in the nation). Yet, in spite of their woeful defense, the Tigers electric offense has had its way with nearly every opponent they have faced this season (42 PPG this season, 6th in the nation). Thanks to the tremendous connection that exists between quarterback Riley Ferguson (29 touchdowns, eight interceptions this season) and wideout Anthony Miller (14.2 yards per receptions and 13 touchdowns this season) the Tigers have been able to cover their defensive deficiencies with relative ease.

20. LSU Tigers

Since their inexplicable loss to Troy, the Tigers have shut down the opposition on defense (18.8 PAPG this season, 17th in the nation) while running back Derrius Guice (5.5 yards per rush, 10 rushing touchdowns this season) has carried a predictable but physical Tigers offense to one hard-fought win after another. Without a competent quarterback (Danny Etling has a completion percentage of just 59.9% this season) it’s hard to imagine the physical but noticeably incomplete Tigers going much higher in the rankings this year.

21. Stanford Cardinal

Despite a poor passing attack (184.4 passing yards per game, 96th in the nation), the Cardinal have been able to win their last two games thanks to the prolific rushing abilities of Bryce Love (8.8 yards per rush, 16 rushing touchdowns this season). Defensively, the Cardinal has been one of the better programs in college football (20.7 PAPG, 29th in the nation) and will need all of that and then some to topple the aggressive rushing attack of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this week.

22. Northwestern Wildcats

During their last four games, the Wildcats defense has been otherworldly as they have improved at a torrid pace (allowed 31 points in a win over Michigan State one month ago, have allowed points totals of 24, 13 and zero in their victories since then). While the improvements for the defense have been majestic, its been the tenacity of running back Justin Jackson (averaged five yards per rush in two of last three games, averaged the same or more yards per rush only two other times this season) and the newfound discipline of quarterback Clayton Thorson (six touchdowns, two interceptions in last four games; four touchdowns, six interceptions in the previous four games) that has allowed the now well-rounded Wildcats to succeed where they once failed.

23. South Florida Bulls

Since losing a nail-biter to Houston three weeks ago, the Bulls have quickly and impressively recovered in two straight wins in which they have held their respective opponents to just 20 points each (19.9 PAPG this season, 19th in the nation). Offensively, quarterback Quinton Flowers has performed admirably by making big plays with both his arm (17 touchdowns, five interceptions this season) and legs (10 rushing touchdowns). Despite not being an accurate passer (53.5 CMP% on the season), Flowers has used his off the charts athleticism to carry his team to one well-earned victory after another. With the UCF Knights coming up to close out the regular season, the offensively tenacious Bulls will have their work cut out for them.

24. Boise State Broncos

Similar to their conference rivals in the Fresno State Bulldogs, the Broncos got off to a slow start with a 2-2 record. However, the Broncos have persevered since then as they have won seven games in a row. Holding six out of their last seven opponents to 19 points or less while scoring less than 30 points only twice during their win streak, the Broncos have become a well-balanced program that can effectively compete on both sides of the football. Considering how well quarterback Brett Rypien has played this season (14 touchdowns, four interceptions this season), the Broncos should feel incredibly confident going into their final regular-season matchup against Fresno State.

25. Fresno State Bulldogs

After starting 1-2, the Bulldogs have dug deep throughout the season as they have compiled a highly impressive record of 7-1 since their poor three-game start. This is due largely in part to their stingy defense (17.3 PAPG, 12th in the nation) and the improved quarterback play of junior passer Marcus McMaryion (has thrown for five touchdowns in last two games, only recorded seven touchdowns in his previous appearances). With a ranked Boise State program on the schedule to finish the regular season, the Bulldogs will face their toughest challenge yet.

Vizio M50-E0 Review: A Stunning & Affordable 4K UHD LED TV

Vizio M50-E1

Note: Vizio provided us with the Vizio M50-E0 at no charge in order to conduct this review.

Recently, the awesome folks at Vizio hooked COED up in order to review their latest television in their M-Series line, the Vizio M50-E0 at no cost to us. Naturally, we had to say yes because this 4K Ultra High Definition television is a beauty and possibly one of the best and most affordable options for getting into the 4K television game.

The California-based electronics makers, widely known for their production of flat-screen televisions, were kind enough to send over a Vizio M50-E0 to our office in New York City for this review. After the quick and easy set-up, we were off to the races and testing this bad boy on everything it could do!

For this review, we sampled how the TV held up by testing its 4K functionality in Netflix and by testing out how games look on it by playing a couple rounds of FIFA 18 on the Xbox One (Note: Since the Xbox One X was not available while writing this review, the standard Xbox One version was used).

Read on for our review of the Vizio M50-E0 4K UHD LED TV:

Picture Quality:

The Vizio M50-E0 displays gorgeous, vibrant and deep pictures on its screen. When testing out the TV on Netflix with the newest season of Stranger Things, the TV not only blew our minds but looked completely jaw-dropping. The colors are high-quality and almost lifelike thanks to the television’s High Dynamic Range, which supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats so there is no need to fight over the formats!

When playing FIFA 18 on the Xbox One, we noticed that the TV picked up the fast motion blur of the game like a champ and displayed the field stunningly (even if it wasn’t the 4K patched edition). Also, the TV’s 120Hz refresh rate makes gaming and watching sports the experience worth every penny!

One highlight of the picture quality is the Ultra Color Gamut panel in the TV, which is the color gamut that allows the TV to reach 98% of the P3 standard, making this TV as super close to Digital Cinema as possible at the moment.

One downside: Even though the TV does have Auto Brightness Control for when light is hitting the screen, it doesn’t do the trick all the time and may require a lighting adjustment.  Thankfully, the TV’s screen has local dimming spots which help liven up colors and lighting across the screen in some well lit spots. The feature works with the image displayed on screen by dimming the TV’s backlight so that black images can be even darker while increasing it in the brighter portions of the image so that the highlights are still bright and crisp! Plus, most televisions at this price range either do not have local dimming or it is not as powerful as it is here!

Sound Quality:

While most people will no doubt have this TV hooked up to their best sound system, we decided to forgo that and test the built-in speakers for our review. We did notice that while the sound may not be the best, it is definitely serviceable and usable… but we do suggest hooking it up to a sound system entirely.

Smart Features:

Smart Features
Packed to the brim with features and things to do with it, the Vizio M50-E0 is a solid “Smart TV” that can get all your content quick and easy thanks to its simple yet amazing home screen. The system is packed in with Google’s ChromeCast support, which basically means this TV comes with a built-in ChromeCast that allows you to stream all your favorite content straight from your phone! By downloading the app that comes with the TV, you can cast content from various different apps without ever needing to connect an HDMI cord, essentially making this TV fully usable straight out of the box! This alone makes the TV worth a purchase, especially for college kids who aren’t paying for cable or the cord cutters who finally let go of cable TV.

Casting content to the TV is quick and painless thanks to the VIZIO “SmartCast mobile” app that users can download for either iOS or Android devices. The app helps organize all the different applications and subscriptions that you can cast to your TV. Users can also cast content directly from their respective apps thanks to Google’s ChromeCast technology. Once the TV is hooked up to your home internet network, the Chromecast-enabled apps on your phone or tablet, (including: Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and thousands more) will show up with a “Cast” button, allowing you to stream your favorite content immediately. Also, we noticed that the internal wireless card that the TV uses works surprisingly fast when we installed the Day One update for the TV which means… NO MORE BUFFERING!

Vizio outdid themselves with the Smart Features on this TV, making sure that it’s future proof as we continue to rely on our content through streaming methods and others rather than cable TV and with the ability to control/cast from your phone. Rather than sticking to the past, Vizio has propelled themselves to the future with the features on this TV.

Our Verdict:

Vizio’s commitment to making affordable yet amazing televisions has not been broken yet. Each year their TVs get bigger, brighter, and better than the last and the Vizio M50-E0 stands as one of their best models yet. Sporting one of the best screens for its price, this TV stands out as one that will blow everyone away, but still feels inviting and friendly thanks to its amazing smart features. The ability to start watching content from across various platforms thanks to built-in (and downloadable) apps and to be able to stream from your phone as soon as it’s hooked up makes this one of the best TVs on the market right now.

Final Score: 8.5/10

Pricing:

The 2017 Vizio M Series is available in five screen sizes: 50″, 55″, 65″, 70″, and 75″. Here’s how the other sizes compare in price:

50-inch (Vizio M50-E1), $599.99 – (Currently $575.99 on Amazon)
55-inch (Vizio M55-E0), $679.99 – (Currently $675.99 on Amazon)
70-inch (Vizio M70-E3), $1,999.99 – (Currently $1,756 on Amazon)
75-inch (Vizio M75-E1), $2,499.99 – (Currently $2,099 on Amazon)

All five of these models share most of the same specs, including an advertised 120Hz refresh rate (60Hz native), HDR10/Dolby Vision support, and a wide color gamut.

Charles Manson, the infamous mass murderer and former cult leader who led what became known as the Manson Family, is dead at the age of 83-years-old. Upon being hospitalized a week ago, it was reportedly “only a matter of time” until his passing.

Manson brought to a Bakersfield hospital on Sunday, November 11 and was kept there until his passing. Manson had health problems in early 2017. In January, Manson was hospitalized for severe intestinal bleeding and needed surgery to repair a lesion.

After being convicted, Manson was originally sentenced to death, however, his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment when California invalidated the state’s death penalty statute in 1972. Manson served nine life terms in California prisons and was denied parole 12 times.

Manson was serving his multiple life sentences at California State Prison in Corcoran.

Charles Manson Cause of Death

Charles Manson, 83, died of natural causes.

About Charles Mason

Charles Manson was the head of the cult known as The Manson Family. He taught his followers that they were the reincarnation of “the original Christians” and “the Romans were the establishment.”

The Manson Family was a quasi-commune that arose in California in the late 1960s, gaining national notoriety follwoing the infamous murder of actress Sharon Tate and four others on August 9, 1969 by Tex Watson and three other members of the Family, who were acting under the instructions of Manson.

The Manson Family was also responsible for numerous of other murders, as well as the attempted assassination of President Gerald Ford.

Manson believed in what he called “Helter Skelter”, which he believed to be an impending apocalyptic race war. Manson took the phrase from the Beatles’ song of the same name.

Unsurprisingly, The President Of Rutgers Said Something Very Stupid

Back when I went to Rutgers from 2011-2016, the University’s president, Robert Barchi, was constantly putting his foot in his mouth.

Whether it be the handling of Mike Rice (remember, the basketball coach who was throwing balls at his players) or just other general day-to-day happenings at Rutgers, Barchi always seemed to say the exact wrong thing at the exact wrong time. Also, look at the dude: total goober.

Anyway, speaking during a student government town hall last week, Robert Barchi said: “If I’m a Ku Klux Klan member, and I’m going to burn a cross on a vacant lot, that’s a constitutionally protected right.”

via Tap Into New Brunswick:

At the November 16 student government town hall, Barchi noted the protections to incidents such as the anti-Semitic posts allegedly shared on the Facebook of a food science professor, the swastika graffiti on a Rutgers dorm, and an international law professor who accused Israel of trafficking human organs.

“If I’m a Ku Klux Klan member, and I’m going to burn a cross on a vacant lot, that’s a constitutionally protected right,” Barchi said, although the act of burning something would likely be prohibited by local ordinances.

“You put that cross on my front yard, and you light it, that is not constitutionally protected, that’s harassment. It’s an exception to the First Amendment. It is free speech, it’s not hate speech,” Barchi said, prompting a loud and visceral response from student activists who attended the meeting and insisted that it was in fact hate speech.

“If it’s a general building on the university, that’s First Amendment rights,” Barchi said.

President Barchi also spoke in support of three professors who have come under fire for their comments, arguing that what they’ve said is protected by academic freedom and the First Amendment. Those rights would extend to Michael Chikandas, a microbiology professor in the food science department, who allegedly shared dozens of anti-Semitic posts on his Facebook. Thousand of students have since signed a petition calling for his removal from the university, which so far, has garnered over 5,000 signatures.

Now, while what Barchi is saying is technically true, it doesn’t mean he should go around saying it. Like, you know when your girlfriend looks tired, and instead of saying “hey, you look like shit” (even though its true) you just keep your mouth shut? Barchi should try the same.

Athens-Clarke County Police Department

Hunter Ty Wilkerson, a 19-year-old student from the University of Georgia, was arrested on Thursday, November 16, after a high-speed chase where he reached speeds up to 110mph.

Wilkerson was arrested early on Thursday while speeding down a 35mph zone in Athens, Georgia. According to local police, Wilkerson was speeding because he stole five traffic signs off the campus at UGA.

He was spotted by Athens-Clarke County police traveling at 90mph in a 35mph zone around 3:30 AM. Epifanio Rodriguez, a police spokesman for the Athens-Clarke County said that “At that point in itself he’s reckless,” and that Wilkerson is “putting lives in danger, to include his own and anyone else who’s on the roadway.”

University police chased Wilkerson for approximately 10 minutes before his vehicle went airborne and crashed, slamming into several cars that were parked in front of the UGA police headquarters.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, when Wilkerson was in handcuffs, another officer found his cellphone in the truck. Wilkerson was still logged in to Snapchat, where police said he’d zoomed in on his speedometer hitting 110 mph. Wilkerson allegedly bragged that he was leading a police chase.

“An officer looks through his phone and sees he was active on social media, Snapchat, and was sending out updates saying that he was in a pursuit with the police officer,” Rodriguez said.

Wilkerson faces 25 charges, including fleeing a police officer, DUI and reckless driving.

Hunter Day: Full Story & Pictures of Yukon High School Teacher

Hunter Day has been arrested for allegedly having sex with one of her students.

Day, a 22-year-old science teacher at Yukon High School in Oklahoma, was arrested for allegedly having sex with one of her male students. Day, who was in her first year of teacher chemistry at Yukon, is also accused of sending the unidentified student illicit photos.

The teacher, who was married while teaching at Yukon High School, was arrested on Wednesday, November 15, following a sting operation. The Canadian County Sheriff’s investigators posed as the boy and found Day waiting for unidentified teen surrounded by lit candles. Investigators asked Day if the meeting was still on, and she allegedly said it was but added that he should hurry before her husband got home from work.

The investigation began after local parents who suspected that the teacher was having a sexual relationship with their son. The parents became suspicious after his behavior changed, prompting them to go through his phone, finding texts between him and the teacher.

via News9:

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies began investigating after they were contacted by the boy’s parents. Evidence of the relationship was found on the boy’s phone, including explicit text messages and nude pictures.

“This is a classic case of a serious breach of public trust. School teachers are entrusted to protect and educate our children, not to engage in an unlawful sexual relationship with them,” said Chris West, Canadian County Sheriff.

Investigators say Day and the boy had also arranged a meeting on the day of the arrest. When deputies arrived at the home, they sent Day a message from the boy’s phone, saying, “I’m here” to which they say Day responded, “The doors [sic] unlocked as usual.”

Authorities say when they came inside the house they found Day sitting on the living room floor with the lights turned off, candles lit, wearing a Christmas cat T-shirt and workout shorts. When confronted they say she admitted to sending “bra and panty” pics of herself, and admitted that she had received photos of the boy’s genitals.

Day was arrested and charged with second-degree rape, possession of child pornography, and soliciting a minor using technology. She was booked into the Canadian County Jail with her bond set at $85,000.

According to authorities, Day cooperated and admitted to the allegations.

News 4 reports that Day was hired at Yukon High School with no prior teaching experience through an emergency teaching certificate. Day, who had only been working in the district for six months, is married to a football coach at Yukon High School.

Yukon Public Schools released a statement regarding Day’s arrest:

Yukon Public Schools was informed late Wednesday afternoon, November 15th, that an employee of the district was arrested for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a high school student. This behavior was representative of a very poor decision by a person entrusted with teacheing our students.

The safety and well-being of our students is our number one priority. Yukon ultiizes application references, interviewing protocols and state background checks prior to hiring an employee in the district in an effort to protect our students. None of these security checks revealed anything that would have alered the district to the possibility of this event.

Yukon Public Schools is fully cooperating with local law enforcement officials during this ongoing investigation. The district is not at libery to discuss any further details of this incident or divulge names of any of the paties involved. All questions pertaining to this incident should be directed to the Canadian County Sheriff’s Department.

The Canadian County Sheriff’s also released a statement about their investigation into and arrest of Day:

“Day, a school teacher with Yukon Public Schools was arrested by investigators at her Yukon residence after the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint by the under-aged boy’s parents who brought their son’s cell phone to the Sheriff’s Office, and asked for a forensic review of the phone. The parents told investigators they had already been through the phone and discovered text messages and nude photographs, and were concerned Day had already had sex with their son. They were also extremely concerned because they believed Day was their son’s Chemistry teacher. In June 2017, Day had written to the Yukon School District, seeking the chemistry teaching job, saying that she has a “love for others and truly wish for everyone to succeed. I learn very quickly and adapt to an ever-changing environment.”

This is the latest in a string of teacher/student sex scandals this year. In November, Tennessee teacher Janet Smothers was arrested. Former nutrition teacher LaToya Parker was also arrested for a relationship with a student. Florida teacher Caroline Lawson was charged with sexual assault. 26-year-old Allyson Moran was also arrested for similar crimes. The 23-year-old high school teacher Katherine Ross Ridenhour was also arrested for an inappropriate relationship.

Lindsay Menz Photos: Full Story & Must-See Details Of Al Franken Accuser

Lindsay Menz, a 33-year-old woman who now lives in Frisco, Texas, says Senator Al Franken inappropriately touched her in 2010 at the Minnesota State Fair while taking a picture.

According to Menz, she attended the 2010 Minnesota State Fair with her husband and father, almost two years after Franken was elected to the Senate. Her father’s small business was sponsoring a local radio booth, so Lindsay spent the day meeting various elected officials, political candidates and celebrities and taking photos with them as they stopped by the booth.

Menz claims that while her husband was taking a picture of the two, Franken “pulled me in really close, like awkward close, and as my husband took the picture, he put his hand full-fledged on my rear.”

Menz said she wanted to share the “uncomfortable” interaction that left her feeling “gross.”

She posted the photo with Franken on Facebook on August 27, 2010. After a comment from her sister,
Menz responded by saying: “Dude — Al Franken TOTALLY molested me! Creeper!”

via CNN:

When Franken walked in, Menz and her husband, who also spoke with CNN, said they recognized him right away. Menz said she had a brief and cordial exchange with the senator.

Then, as her husband held up her phone and got ready to snap a photo of the two of them, Franken “pulled me in really close, like awkward close, and as my husband took the picture, he put his hand full-fledged on my rear,” Menz said. “It was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek.”

“It wasn’t around my waist. It wasn’t around my hip or side. It was definitely on my butt,” she said, recalling that the brazen act lasted three or four seconds. “I was like, oh my God, what’s happening,” Menz said.

“He reached around her and kind of pulled her into him,” said her husband Jeremy Menz, who didn’t see what happened behind his wife. “He pulled her in and pushed his head against her head. It was over pretty quick.”

On Sunday, Franken released a statement to CNN, saying he did not remember taking the photo with Menz and that he felt “badly” that she felt disrespected.

“I take thousands of photos at the state fair surrounded by hundreds of people, and I certainly don’t remember taking this picture,” Franken said. “I feel badly that Ms. Menz came away from our interaction feeling disrespected.”

Now a stay-at-home-mom of three children, Lindsay and her husband moved from Minnesota to Texas in 2014. Menz said “the reason I want to say something is if someone sees that I said something, maybe it would give them the courage to say something too.”

Menz’s father, Mark Brown, said he didn’t witness the moment but said that Lindsay told him about the incident right away. Menz’s mother, Jodi Brown, also told CNN that she discussed the incident with her daughter immediately after it happened. She said she distinctly recalls her son-in-law saying to her: “Our senator just groped my wife right in front of me.”

The allegations from Menz come days after Leeann Tweeden, a local radio news anchor in California said that Franken forcibly kissed and groped her in 2006. Tweeden provided a picture of the incident.

Following Tweeden’s allegations, Franken issued an apology and called for an investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee. In his original statement, Franken has said he intends to fully cooperate if there is a Senate Ethics Committee investigation into his behavior.

“I respect women. I don’t respect men who don’t. And the fact that my own actions have given people a good reason to doubt that makes me feel ashamed. I understand why we need to listen to and believe women’s experiences,” the statement read.

Former NFL wide receiver and Patriots draft pick Terry Glenn had lost his life in a car accident in Texas. He was 43 years-old at the time of the accident. His fiancee had been with him at the time of the car crash, although she is believed to have survived the accident and is currently hospitalized, while officials found Glenn dead on arrival. At this time, however, details concerning the accident are said to be unclear.

Glenn got his start in football while playing in high school

A native of Columbus Ohio, Glenn got his start in the sport while playing in high school, where he also got involved with basketball, tennis, and track. Attending Ohio State University, he became a walk-on player for the Buckeyes football team, later winning an athletic scholarship, as well as the Fred Biletnikoff Award.

Drafted as a Patriot & eventually became a Packer

Glenn had originally been drafted the seventh overall in the 1996 draft by the Patriots, for whom he stayed with for six seasons. Afterwards, he went on to play for the Packers. In total, he caught 593 passes for 8,823 yards and 44 touchdowns in his NFL career.

Glenn has left three children behind

At this time, Glenn is believed to be survived by his fiancee and three children, according to 247 Sports. Some of Glenn’s former teammates have also offered their condolences over the accident on social media.

Updates on Glenn’s accident

Update: According to TMZ, the car crash that claimed Glenn’s life involved a single-car, with Glenn ejected from his vehicle. Glenn had passed by the time officials arrived at the crash, with him officially announced dead on arrival.

His fiancee had been with him in the car at the time of the accident, but she had survived the crash and is currently being treated in the ICU of a local hospital.

Officials have said that they will hold an autopsy for Glenn, to try to make sure what had caused the draft. At this time, however, details about the accident are said to be unclear.

Terry Glenn Cause Of Death: How Did Former New England Patriots Wide Receiver Die?

Former Ohio State and New England Patriots wide receiver Terry Glenn has died in a car accident in Irving, Texas. He was 43-years-old.

Glenn was drafted by the New England Patriots seventh overall in the 1996 NFL Draft, and also played for the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. Glenn made the Pro Bowl in 1999 and was traded to Green Bay before the 2002 season. Glenn only played with the Packers for one season before he was dealt to the Dallas Cowboys, where he played his final five seasons from 2003 to 2008. In total, Glenn played 12 years in the NFL.

Officials with the Irving Fire Department have confirmed that Glenn died following a wreck early on the morning of Monday, November 20. The Dallas County medical examiner’s office said Glenn died at Parkland Memorial Hospital at 12:52 AM.

He leaves behind a fiancee and five children.

Terry Glenn Cause of Death: Traffic Collision

Terry Glenn, the 43-year-old former Ohio State and NFL wide receiver, was killed in an automobile accident in Irving, Texas.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Glenn attended Brookhaven High School in Columbus, and was a three-year letterman in high school football, basketball, and track, and a two-year letterman in tennis.

As a walk-on player for Ohio State Buckeyes football team, Glenn would eventually earn an athletic scholarship. After having just 15 catches for 266 yards during his first two seasons for the Buckeyes, Glenn exploded during his junior year, catching 64 passes for 1,411 yards and 17 TD. In 1995, he was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American and won the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top wide receiver.

In 1996, Glenn was drafted seventh overall by the New England Patriots. Glen would play six seasons for New England, catching 329 passes for 4,669 yards and 22 touchdowns. Glenn also caught Tom Brady’s first career touchdown pass.

During his NFL career, the former Ohio State All-American caught 593 passes for 8,823 yards and 44 touchdowns during in his NFL career.

“Man…..#RIP to my former teammate Terry Glenn, who passed away this morning due to a car accident. Praying for his family,” tweeted former NFL offensive lineman Damien Woody, who played with Glenn in New England.

Leeann Tweeden, 44, is a model and radio host who was born in Manassas, Virginia to Bill Tweeden, a retired Air Force Chief Mechanic and her mother Catherine.

After graduating from Osbourn Park High School in 1991, Tweeden moved to Hollywood to pursue a career in modeling. In 1992, while working at Hooters restaurant in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tweeden won first place in the Venus International Model Search, which led to national exposure. Following her Model Search win, Tweeden began a regular role as a fitness model on the TV show Fitness Beach. Tweeden then began modeling promotional work for Hooters, Venus International, and Frederick’s of Hollywood.

From 2001 to 2007, Tweeden was a correspondent for Fox Sports Net’s Best Damn Sports Show Period, and in 2008 Tweeden became the hostess of the NBC late-night television series Poker After Dark. Also in 2007, Tweeden was featured as the cover girl on the final print issue of FHM. In 2009, Tweeden became the public face of the website Rethinking Autism, which uses a series of videos to educate the public about autism

Beginning in February 2017, Tweeden became the host of the Los Angeles morning radio show ““McIntyre in the Morning” on KABC.

On November 16, 2017, Tweeden published a story saying that Senator Al Franken had kissed and groped her without her consent.

via KABC:

“He repeated that actors really need to rehearse everything and that we must practice the kiss. I said ‘OK’ so he would stop badgering me. We did the line leading up to the kiss and then he came at me, put his hand on the back of my head, mashed his lips against mine and aggressively stuck his tongue in my mouth. I immediately pushed him away with both of my hands against his chest and told him if he ever did that to me again I wouldn’t be so nice about it the next time.

The tour wrapped and on Christmas Eve we began the 36-hour trip home to L.A. After 2 weeks of grueling travel and performing I was exhausted. When our C-17 cargo plane took off from Afghanistan I immediately fell asleep, even though I was still wearing my flak vest and Kevlar helmet. It wasn’t until I was back in the US and looking through the CD of photos we were given by the photographer that I saw this one [the photo]. I couldn’t believe it. He groped me, without my consent, while I was asleep.”

Tweeden met her husband, Chris Dougherty, a retired Air Force pilot for the California Air National Guard, during a USO tour. They married in 2010. They have two children, son Kane and daughter Kaia.

Who Is Lindsay Menz? Al Franken Accuser Info

A week after Minnesota Senator Al Franken was accused of groping and kissing Leeann Tweeden, a second woman, 33-year-old Lindsay Menz, is accusing Sen. Franken of grabbing her buttocks while the two posed for a picture.

According to the mother-of-three who now resides in Frisco, Texas, Senator Franken groped her during a photo op at the 2010 Minnesota State Fair.

Speaking to CNN, Menz alleges that “pulled me [Lindsay] in really close, like awkward close, and as my husband took the picture, he put his hand full-fledged on my rear.” Lindsay’s husband Jeremy, who took the picture, corroborates the story, saying that Franken “reached around her and kind of pulled her into him,”

“He pulled her in and pushed his head against her head. It was over pretty quick,” Jeremy Menez said.

Menz said she wanted to share the “uncomfortable” interaction that left her feeling “gross” because “if someone sees that I said something, maybe it would give them the courage to say something too.”

via CNN:

According to Menz, she attended the Minnesota State Fair with her husband and father in the summer of 2010, almost two years after Franken was elected to the Senate. Her father’s small business was sponsoring a local radio booth, and she spent the day meeting various elected officials, political candidates and celebrities and taking photos with them as they stopped by the booth.

“I was like, oh my God, what’s happening.”

Menz’s father, Mark Brown, told CNN that while he did not witness the moment, he said Lindsay told him about the incident right away. Menz’s mother, Jodi Brown, also told CNN that the two discussed the incident immediately after it happened. Jodi Brown said she distinctly recalls her son-in-law saying to her: “Our senator just groped my wife right in front of me.”

In a statement to CNN Sunday, Franken said he did not remember taking the photo with Menz and that he felt “badly” that she felt disrespected.

“I take thousands of photos at the state fair surrounded by hundreds of people, and I certainly don’t remember taking this picture,” Franken told CNN. “I feel badly that Ms. Menz came away from our interaction feeling disrespected.”

Menz’s allegations against Senator Franken, a junior United States Senator from Minnesota, come just says after Leeann Tweeden, a 44-year-old radio host and former model, accused Franken of kissing and groping her during a 2006 USO tour.

Coming off a relatively dull week in terms of reputable competition, week 2 ramped up the excitement with the Champions Classic, pitting several of the top-ranked teams against each other. In the end, both Duke and Kansas came away with fantastic victories against Michigan State and Kentucky respectively, establishing themselves as the two best teams in the country…for now. With each subsequent week, every notable program will have to face obvious and unforeseen tests that will ultimately determine their final seeding in the NCAA tournament. However, until that momentous day, die-hard fans will be rewarded nearly every day of the season with improbable buzzer beaters, unthinkable upsets and miraculous performances made by both the young and veteran talents of this mesmerizing sport.

1. Duke Blue Devils

The return of the dominant shooter in senior guard Grayson Allen (21.8 PPG, 53.1 3P%) along with the addition of number one recruit freshman forward Marvin Bagley III (18 PPG, 9,3 RPG), will allow the well-coached Blue Devils to be dominant on both offense and defense this season. Barring serious injuries, the Blue Devils will be rightfully considered the program to beat throughout the season.

2. Kansas Jayhawks

Although the Jayhawks lack notable depth, their starting five is as disciplined as it is proficient on both offense and defense. Senior guard Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk will be the obvious precision shooter for the Jayhawks (19.7 PPG, 47.8 3P%), while sophomore center Udoka Azubuike will do the dirty work as a physical rebounder (5.3 RPG) and defender (2 BPG). If the Jayhawks can remain this well-balanced, there will not be a limit to the multitude of ways this program can win basketball games.

3. Arizona Wildcats

Assuming the off the charts shooting accuracy of junior guard Allonzo Trier (30 PPG, 70 FG%) and rebounding prowess of freshman forward Deandre Ayton (11.7 RPG) remain this elite, the Wildcats could have the deadliest one-two punch in the country. As their non-conference schedule heats up, the Wildcats will attempt to produce at an immensely high level and be the team to topple in the PAC-12.

4. Michigan State Spartans

Despite a tough loss to Duke, Michigan State should not be at all discouraged as their defense combined with their skilled athletes will keep them in the conversation to win a National Title this season. The obvious benefits of returning sophomore guard Miles Bridges (19.7 PPG, 7 RPG) combined with the prolific shooting abilities of sophomore forward Nick Ward (19 PPG, 75.9 FG%) will be a constant hassle for opposing defenses to contain throughout the season.

5. Villanova Wildcats

The percentage shooting and ball movement of the Wildcats have been fantastic thus far and will be vital to their continued success going forward. With two guards that can both pass and shoot in juniors Mikal Bridgers (18.3 PPG, 3 SPG) and Jalen Brunson (17.7 PPG, 4.7 APG), the Wildcats have the ideal leadership intangibles and coveted depth to be dominant once again in the Big East.

6. Wichita State Shockers

While the Shockers high ranking in the preseason was a bit surprising, the first two contests for the Shockers this season have been indicative of a dynamic program that can potentially compete with some of the best teams in the country. The rebounding and scoring abilities of senior center of Shaquille Morris (17 PPG, 7.5 RPG) in conjunction with the high-volume shooting attack of senior forward Darral Willis Jr. (16.5 PPG) could prove to be consistently deadly as the Shockers progress through the season.

7. Florida Gators

With another great rebounding roster, the likes of senior guard Egor Koulechov (8 RPG) and junior forward Kevarrius Hayes (4.7 RPB, 2.7 BPG) will be instrumental in keeping this program competitive in what now appears to be a highly talented South Eastern Conference. Combined with the shooting abilities of junior guard Jalen Hudson (18.3 PPG), the Gators should have enough of an offensive output to allow their lengthy rebounders to do what they do best.

8. UNC Tar Heels

As long as senior guard Joel Berry II can continue to be an exceptional passer (6 APG), the Tar Heels will have an extremely potent offense that will be able to overwhelm some of the better defenses in college basketball. With the dynamic abilities of junior forward Luke Maye (23 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 1.5 BPG) and senior forward Theo Pinson (11 PPG, 4 RPG, 5.5 APG) on the roster as well, the Tar Heels have an experienced starting lineup that will look to defend their National Title this season.

9. USC Trojans

While the Trojans needed every bit of their offense to overcome a persistent Vanderbilt program, it was a great test for senior guard Jordan McLaughlin (19.7 PPG, 2.3 SPG) and junior forward Chimezie Metu (18.3 PPG, 2 BPG) to prove that they were ready to be featured more prominently for this USC program. With Texas A&M coming up on November 26th, the aforementioned dynamic athletes will get a grand opportunity to elevate their team to top-5 status early in the season.

10. Kentucky Wildcats

There is no denying how young (youngest team coach Jim Calipari has ever had) or raw this Wildcats program is right now. However, as is always the case every year, the Wildcats always find a way to be one of the top contenders in college basketball despite their inexperience. Freshman guard Quade Green (11.5 PPG) will most likely be the Wildcats go to sharpshooter while freshman forward Kevin Knox (15 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 1.5 SPG) will be this programs gifted two-way athlete that will lead this team to several well-earned victories as the season progresses.

11. Cincinnati Bearcats

Although it’s difficult to become too excited over the Bearcats overall numbers considering their easy schedule thus far, the fact that they are a top-four program in scoring (102 PPG), rebounding (54.3 RPG) and assists (23.7 APG) cannot be completely discounted. The overall depth of their roster, combined with their versatile starting line up that is led by sophomore guard Jarron Cumberland (16.3 PPG, 6 RPG, 50 FG%) should allow this program to be consistently competitive as the difficulty of their schedule ramps up in December.

12. Miami Hurricanes

With this type of defensive dominance (53 PAPG, tied for 7th in the nation), the Hurricanes should be one of the top contenders in the ACC. Thanks to the tenacity of sophomore forward Dewan Huell as a rebounder (12.7 PPG, 7.7 RPG) and junior guard Anthony Lawrence II (6 RPG, 1 SPG), the Hurricanes have been able to dominate the opposition without a true scorer to carry them offensively.

13. Minnesota Golden Gophers

As far as being versatile is concerned, the Golden Gophers do not appear to have any issues in that department as their proficient offense (94.3 PPG, 20th in the nation), skillful ball movement abilities (19.3 APG, 36th in the nation) and aggressive rebounding capabilities (45 RPG, tied for 24th in the nation) look to be consistent attributes for this program going forward. As long as junior forward Jordan Murphy can continue to be dominant as a scorer (24.8 PPG) and rebounder (12.8 RPG), the Golden Gophers will be in a favorable position to compete for a BIG 10 title by the end of the season.

14. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Although the Fighting Irish have not exactly been tested this season, the proven offensive efficiency of senior forward Bonzie Colson (20 PPG, 11 RPG) and sophomore guard Temple Gibbs (17.7 PPG, 50 3P%) cannot be denied. Luckily, the Fighting Irish will get to emphatically prove that their prolific offense is the real deal as they will take on a defensively oppressive Michigan State program by the end of the month.

15. Xavier Musketeers

The relentless offense of the Musketeers (94 PPG, Tied for 22nd in the nation) was on full display on the road against Wisconsin as senior guards Trevon Bluiett (25.3 PPG, 54.2 3P%) and J.P. Macura (17.3 PPG, 69.2 FG%) attacked the Badgers defense with a seemingly endless shooting barrage. With two important contests against Baylor and Cincinnati coming up at the end of the month and going into the month of December, the Musketeers will continue to confidently overwhelm opposing defenses with their incredibly talented shooters.

16. Texas A&M Aggies

Although the Aggies have only played two games on the young season, their formidable starting roster that is highlighted by junior center Tyler Davis (18.5 PPG, 9.5 RPG) and Junior forward DJ Hogg (21.5 PPG, 6.5 RPG) are physical and tenacious on both sides of the court. With an intriguing test against Oklahoma State coming up, the Aggies will look to continue their versatile dominance while increasing their already impressive notoriety.

17. Gonzaga Bulldogs

An elite rebounding program (49.3 RPG, 6th in the nation), the Bulldogs have been able to consistently keep the ball out of the hands of the opposition thanks to sophomore forward Killian Tillie (8.7 RPG, 1.3 BPG) and freshman forward Corey Kispert (6 RPG, 11.7 PPG). However, in order for the Bulldogs to be truly dominant going forward, they will need senior guard Silas Melson (11.7 PPG) and junior guard Josh Perkins (13.3 PPG) to be consistent ball-facilitators.

18. Purdue Boilermakers

Scoring more than 100 points in three out of their last four games, while holding their respective opponents to 74 points or less in all four of their victories, the Boilermakers currently possess one of the most opportunistic teams on both offense and defense in college basketball. Senior center Isaac Haas has the size (7’2″) and ability (13.5 PPG, 6 RPG, 1.3 BPG) to lead this team to new heights while sophomore guard Carsen Edwards (18.5 PPG, 58.7 FG%, 47.4 3P%) has the makeup of an elite scorer. With a relatively tough stretch upcoming on their schedule (Tennessee, Louisville, Maryland), the Boilermakers will look to continue their dominance over the opposition.

19. Seton Hall Pirates

What the Pirates lack in rebounding efficiency (38.3 RPG, tied for 155th in the nation) they make up for with a strong defense (63.5 PAPG, tied for 59th in the nation), which is led by senior center Angel Delgado. With an intriguing matchup against Rhode Island coming up, the Pirates will look to quietly continue playing their brand of basketball until they face a tenacious Louisville program in early December.

20. Louisville Cardinals

While the Cardinals have two immensely talented forwards in juniors Ray Spalding (10.5 PPG, 2 BPG, 2.5 SPG) and Deng Adel (20.5 PPG, 6 RPG), their lack of a true ball-facilitator (12.5 APG, tied for 240th in the nation) could come back to haunt them when they have to play a defensively disciplined Purdue program (62.8 PAPG) by the end of the month.

21. Saint Mary’s Gaels

As has always been the case for Saint Mary’s, the success of their program is predicated on their players being efficient on the defensive end (65 PAPG) while being unselfish when it comes to finding the open man on the offense (18.5 APG). With versatile junior center Jock Landale being the Gaels leading scorer (17.5 PPG) and rebounder (8 RPG), this program has one of the most underrated anchors in college basketball. If junior forward Calvin Hermanson can continue to be the consummate sharpshooter for the Gaels (19 PPG, 71.4 FG%, 60 3P%), this program could potentially challenge Gonzaga for a conference title by the end of the season.

22. Creighton Blue Jays

With a shootout win over a ranked Northwestern program, the offensively tenacious Blue Jays looked like the real deal as junior guard Khyri Thomas (17.7 PPG, 5.7 RPG) led his team on both sides of the court. However, while the Blue Jays aforementioned superstar will be essential to this teams continued success, it is their impressive depth led by freshman guard Ty-Shon Alexander (47.1 FG%, 46.23P%) that will allow this program to flourish as the season progresses.

23. West Virginia Mountaineers

After a surprising blowout loss to Texas A&M earlier in the season, the Mountaineers were grateful to have an opportunity to take out their frustrations on two cupcake programs (American University, Morgan State). While senior guard Daxter Miles Jr. has been electric as a mid-range shooter (18.3 PPG, 60.6 FG%), and senior guard Jevon Carter (16.3 PPG, 4.7 APG, 6.3 APG, 5 SPG) has the potential to be one of the best two-way players in college basketball, neither of these veteran stars will be tested until they take on Virginia on December 5th.

24. Baylor Bears

If the Bears can continue to play this brand of defense (57.7 PAPG, 19th in the nation) and offense (85 PPG, tied for 80th in the nation) they will be a serious force to be reckoned with in the BIG 12. Senior forward Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. (12 PPG, 10.3 RPG) provides the physicality and length to rebound consistently while senior guard Manu Lecomte (20.7 PPG, 46.2 3-Point%) is a deadly sharpshooter that can demoralize opposing defenses. However, the Bears have not been tested this season and their next three games (Wisconsin, Xavier and Wichita State) will be strong indicators of just how dynamically dominant this program actually is.

25. UCLA Bruins

While the depleted Bruins did not succumb to any of their two respective opponents this week (Central Arkansas, South Carolina State), the ongoing distraction of how this program will discipline three of their star freshmen will likely affect this teams success at some point. Although freshman guard Jaylen Hands has performed valiantly in his teammate’s absence (15.3 PPG, 54.8 FG%), the Bruins lack of depth cannot be ignored as their next matchup will be against an offensively potent Creighton Blue Jays program.
