Jimmy Drake added, “I hope he didn’t feel any pain.”

This Cleveland News Anchor Learning Of The Browns Trade Mishap Is Almost Shakespearean

Few things truly surprise me in this world anymore.

Humanity is on the verge of unleashing A.I. Goofy ass A-Rod is dating J-Lo. Chipotle sells queso. There’s that whole “President of the United States” issues. Point being, in 2017, nothing really blows me away anymore since life has truly become a parody.

Except for the Cleveland Browns.

Somehow, someway, the Cleveland Browns find ways to consistently blow my mind with their ineptitude. Whether it be passing on a litany of talented quarterbacks in the draft (Watson, Wentz, etc), to constantly pulling and reinserting (wink wink) their starting quarterback in the middle of games, to their literally sh*t colored uniforms, the Browns always find ways to surprise people with their level of suck.

In fact, the Browns are in such a constant state of disarray that they’re even causing Cleveland spots anchor — who have presumably covered the team for decades — to be taken aback by how truly cursed the Browns are.

On the mound for the visiting Astros will be Lance McCullers Jr. McCullers got the win in Game 3, allowing three earned runs in 5 1/3 innings while striking out three. He has used his curveball even more often lately, throwing it for more than two-thirds of his pitches over his last two outings.

Starting Game 7 for the Dodgers is midseason acquisition Yu Darvish. Darvish stumbled in Game 3 after entering the World Series on a hot streak, yielding six hits and four earned runs while recording only five outs and one swinging strike. Chennel “Jazzy” Rowe Photos: Full Story & Must-See Details

University of Hartford student Chennel “Jazzy” Rowe has accused her roommate, Brianna Brochu, of systematically poisoning during the first few weeks of school as a means to get Rowe to move out, who she dubbed as “Jamaican Barbie.”

Rowe posted a 100-minute video recording of her allegations against Brochu via Facebook Live:

Brianna Brochu was arrested by the West Hartford Police Department on October 28. She has been charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief, both of which are classified as misdemeanors. She also faces hate crime charges, and Hartford police announced that she “will not be returning to the institution.”

In an Instagram post, Brochu appears to be bragging about poisoning her roommate, as she writes, “Finally did it yo girl got rid of her roommate!! After 1 1/2 month of spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons (on) her backpack, putting her toothbrush places where the sun doesn’t shine and so much more I can finally say goodbye Jamaican Barbie.”

Brochu’s Facebook has since been set on private, but screenshots were taken of her comments regarding Ms. Rowe:

The story soon took off after she posted her 100-minute Facebook Live video. On Monday, the victim made a written statement regarding the crimes allegedly committed against her roommate. Rowe wrote, “As a young African American woman I don’t want to become another statistic. When it comes to college incidents/crimes and racial cases justice needs to be served. Colleges are known to just sweep issues that happen within the campus under the rug, making the issue disappear and not doing anything about it. Now this isn’t right at all and this is where the public gets involved to push for things to be done right. I’m not holding my tongue any longer about my situation because this is just ridiculous to hear nothing back from my school about this situation. As a African American woman I have to fight for myself and others to not become some statistic. I’m not making this known. I’m giving you guys the option to choose where you would like to hear this information either through Facebook live or Instagram. I will then go on live and let it be known.”

University President also released a statement regarding the incident, saying that, “I am writing to you this evening to send a strong message regarding an incident that is deeply upsetting to me, our students, faculty, staff, and alumni. One of our students was the alleged victim of bullying and her story was shared across social media.”

“Let me be clear: the accused student’s behavior was reprehensible and does not reflect the values of our institution. Let me also be clear that I am confident the University has taken all steps to pursue this matter seriously, and will continue to do so.” Rowe believes that Brochu’s actions were likely racist in nature, saying that, “I don’t understand why, which is why I think it’s a whole racial/hate issue.”

Disney

The second trailer for the much anticipated new Star Wars movie was released during Game 7 of the World Series. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2017.

First, the official synopsis for Star Wars: The Last Jedi:

Luke Skywalker’s peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he meets Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force.

However, it appears that the director of The Last Jedi is advising fans to avoid trailers if they “want to come in clean” and watch the film not knowing what will happen. Basically, he’s warning fans against the real dangers of a spoiler alert.

Back in 2015, tickets for the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens immediately went on sale after the trailer was revealed during a game between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. A surge of Star Wars fans bought tickets, as AMC sold out 1,000 screenings across the nation only 12 hours after tickets went on sale.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, written and directed by Rian Johnson, is the second film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, following Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The film is produced by Lucasfilm and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis in returning roles. New cast members include Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.

The Last Jedi is scheduled for release on December 15, 2017.

This ‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Has Bad News About The Season 8 Premiere

0

HBO

Production on Game Of Thrones eighth and final season began last month (the cast’s first table read was on October 9!), meaning the long, dark night that is a Game Of Thrones-less world is heading our way, but not before we get 6 final episodes of Westerosi excellence.

Sure, the final season of the world’s biggest show will only consist of six episodes, BUT, those six episodes are rumored to each be feature length, and each cost upwards of $15 million dollars. Not only that, but we now know who will be directing those final six episodes, and let me tell you, it is the murderer’s row of Thrones directors.

That’s the good news.

The bad news is that it’s going to take quite the long time until the eighth and final season is in our hands.

via Uproxx:

In previous seasons, Game of Thrones set up shop in Ireland, Croatia, Morocco, Spain, and Iceland, among other real-world destinations standing in for Westeros and beyond. But now that most of the main characters are together, and there’s no need to film North of the Wall now that the White Walkers have broken on through to the other side (“Hold the door”? More like, “Hold the Doors”), shooting will slow down. Filming simultaneously is impossible.

The rumor is that it will take 10 months to film season eight, or almost twice as long as normal.

Speaking at Comic-Con Stockholm, Iain Glen, the actor who plays Ser Friendzone Lord of the Cuck Ser Jorah Mormont Jorah, Glen says that the biggest factor in how long production will take is location.

“We’re all starting to occupy the same territory. We’re all starting to be in the same storylines and so they can’t [have two filming units] anymore,” Glen explained. “I think this last season will take much longer to shoot because they can only use one unit because we’re all in the same sort of scenes.”

Based on all this information, it’s becoming likelier and likelier that the final season of Game Of Thrones won’t air until 2019, which is a huge deal, because at the rate this world is going, we may not even make it that long.

College Of The Ozarks Implements Mandatory “Patriot” Class For Incoming Freshman

The College of the Ozarks, a private university in Missouri, has created a mandatory class for freshmen meant to teach patriotism.

The course, which is being offered at the College of the Ozarks, an evangelical Christian college in Missouri, is called Patriotic Education and Fitness. According to the Associated Press, the new course will teach students about topics including flag protocols, military customs, and U.S. politics.

Jerry Davis, the president of the College of the Ozarks, believes that understanding the military is now more important than ever.

“We have 99 percent of the population being defended by 1 percent who are in uniform,” Davis said.

Terrence Dake, a board member for the college and retired general, said that he thinks “if you give a person the tools of an education, the patriotic yearnings inside of themselves and the leadership tools that can be taught — they will be leaders.”

via AP:

College President Jerry Davis said he believes “understanding the military now is more important than ever because we have 99 percent of the population being defended by 1 percent, who are in uniform. We should be more intentional about patriotic education, and from our point of view that needs to occur from kindergarten all the way through college.”

The required class builds camaraderie among students, according to Talan Saylor, a freshman at the college. The move comes amid a backdrop of some U.S. athletes protesting racial injustice by taking a knee during the national anthem. The college announced last month that its teams won’t compete against other teams whose players don’t stand for the anthem.

“We want to make it clear that we are not going to participate in a game where we think disrespect for the national anthem or the flag is being displayed,” Davis said. “I don’t think it’s a partisan issue. It’s an American issue, how we feel about our country.”

The College of the Ozarks held an event in late October to introduce the new course.

Thorton Police Department

Police are searching for Scott Ostrem after three people were killed due to a shooting at a Thornton, Colorado Walmart on Wednesday, November 1. The shooting took place at the Walmart Supercenter at 9901 Grant Street.

According to police, the lone gunman, Ostrem, walked into the Walmart “nonchalantly” and opened fire randomly on a group of people near the cash registers, according to a spokesperson for the Thornton Police Department. Police said Ostrem walked into the south doors at the Walmart located at 9900 Grant St. around 6:10 PM Wednesday and “nonchalantly” began firing.

The Thorton Police Department says the wanted suspect, Scott Ostrem, is a 47-year-old white man who wore a black jacket, maroon shirt, and blue jeans armed with a handgun. Police are warning civilians to consider Ostrem armed and dangerous. Ostrem reportedly fled the scene in a red 2017 four-door Mitsubishi Mirage with license plate #882TQB.

The three people who were killed were the only ones who were shot by Ostrem. Thornton police said a nationwide extradition homicide warrant has been issued for the 47-year-old Ostrem.

Hundreds of emergency responders were on the scene after the shooting.

via 9News:

As a matter of precaution, the public should be cautious until the suspect is taken into custody. There’s no known motive for the shooting at this time. The call came into dispatch at 6:10 p.m. to report a shooting inside the Grant Street Walmart location, police said.

According to authorities, two men were killed and a woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died.

The names of the victims have not been released though Tiffany Wilson, Director of Walmart Communications, did confirm that all Walmart staff has been accounted for.

While investigators have no idea why the man started shooting, they did say the shooting is not known to be an act of terrorism. However, a Thornton PD spokesperson did refer to the shooting as a heinous act.

According to Aaron Stephens, a witness who spoke to the Denver Post, he was in the self-checkout line when he heard a single shot fired, followed by more bursts of gunfire. He said at this point, customers started screaming and running for the exits.

“I was scared,” Stephens said. “I feared for my life.”

According to Colorado court records, while Ostrem declared bankruptcy in 2015, he does not have a lengthy criminal record. In 2013, he was arrested for driving while ability impaired.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact police at 720-977-5069 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

Top 20 Most Offensive Halloween Costumes This Year

0

Ah, Halloween. The greatest time of year for kids and adults alike. For kids, it means dressing up as your heroes, getting free candy with friends, and realizing just how powerful the crash after a sugar high can be. For adults, it’s a lot of the same, but with alcohol instead of candy, the power of the November 1st hangover, and dressing up in your most topical, sexy outfit. Or even a classic sexy outfit. You’ve got the staples; sexy nurse, sexy witch, sexy comic book characters, etc. Hell, there’s even sexy crayon costumes these days.

But amongst all the different versions of sexy costumes, you’re bound to come across some that are just awful. Maybe they’re intended as jokes, but some of these are the kinds of jokes only people like Milo Yiannopoulos would laugh at. Whether it’s the cringe-worthy “Border Babe” costume that made headlines a couple weeks back, or any of the too-many college frat bros who decide blackface is the way to go for costumes.

The List Of Movies, TV Shows & Files On Osama Bin Laden’s Computer Is Beyond Fascinating

Yesterday, the Central Intelligence Agency (the CIA for short, if you’re into the whole brevity thing) released nearly 470,000 additional files recovered in May 2011 raid on Usama Bin Ladin’s compound.

Bin Laden, who was on the run for about a decade until the time of his death, infamously lived in various places, including caves, while hiding from the justice of the United States. But even piece of shit terrorists like Bin Laden get bored like the rest of us, meaning he had to pass his time somehow.

Now, thanks to the notion of transparency, we know what Bin Laden used to keep himself entertained, including, but not limited to: the YouTube classic “Charlie bit my finger”, Ice Age (?), Cars (??), Chicken Little (???) and Resident Evil.

Am I surprised that Bin Laden had the same interests as a 12-year-old (porn, stupid viral videos, Pixar movies)? Not in the slightest. Osama Bin Laden was a mental midget and his taste in leisurely materials only affirms that.

via CIA:

With today’s release, the information remaining in the Abbottabad collection that has not been released publicly includes materials that are sensitive such that their release would directly damage efforts to keep the nation secure; materials protected by copyright; pornography; malware; and blank, corrupted and duplicate files. For example, some of the material being withheld from public release are the following copyrighted videos:

  • Antz
    Batman Gotham Knight
    BBC Great Wildlife Moments
    Biography – Osama bin Laden
    Cars
    Chicken Little
    CNN Presents: World’s Most Wanted
    Final Fantasy VII
    Heroes of Tomorrow
    Home on the Range
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

    Resident Evil
Storm Rider – Clash of the Evils
    The Kremlin from Inside
    The Story of India

In an Instagram post, Brochu appears to be bragging about poisoning her roommate, as she writes, “Finally did it yo girl got rid of her roommate!! After 1 1/2 month of spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons (on) her backpack, putting her toothbrush places where the sun doesn’t shine and so much more I can finally say goodbye Jamaican Barbie.”

The story soon took off after Channel “Jazzy” Rowe posted her 100-minute Facebook Live video, explaining her case against her now-former roommate.

West Hartford Police Department

She’s a 18-year-old freshman from the University of Hartford. However, West Hartford Police announced that Brochu “will not be returning to the institution” after her arrest for allegedly systematically poisoning her roommate Chennel “Jazzy” Rowe.

Brochu graduated from Lewis Mills High School in 2017, according to the Republican American newspaper. She’s a resident of Harwinton, Connecticut, a town in Litchfield County roughly 35 minutes away from West Hartford, where the University of Hartford is located.

In April 2017, Brochu took to the University of Hartford Class of 2021 Facebook page, writing about looking for a roommate. The freshman wrote, “Hey my name is Breezy I’m from Harwinton CT and have committed to University of Hartford. I’m looking for a roommate so if anyone is interested let me know. I love going out and having fun and can’t wait to start off the year.”

Brochu has been accused of putting her roommate’s toothbrush in her rectum, spitting in her coconut oil, “putting moldy clam dip in her lotion,” and more. She was arrested on October 28, and has been charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. On November 1, authorities decided to add a hate crime charge to her list of offenses; intimidation based on bigotry or bias, which is a second-degree felony.

In an Instagram post, Brochu dubbed her roommate, “Jamaican Barbie.”

Paid Internships 2017: 5 Colleges Offering Aid To Unpaid Interns

It is usually best to take unpaid internships while you’re in school so you could at least earn college credit. Working for absolutely nothing after you graduate can get demoralizing after a while. Many schools, however, are giving you another reason to be an intern, as they are developing ways to help students earn an income while involved in these programs, either making sure paid internships are available or offering stipends. Some schools are even trying to help low-income students.

At least five schools are helping students make bank!

Macalester College

Macalester College has offered subsidies for interns involved with social missions, such as those involved with Georgia’s health system. 50 interns were said to be involved in these internship programs.

“This is an opportunity to try on a career no matter what their interest or major or their economic situation is,” said Mindy Deardurff, dean of career development at the St. Paul campus, adding, “Especially for our students who have socioeconomic need, if we can get them in and let them try out some of the things they are so passionate about, it might get them over that hump of worrying about whether they can afford it.”

Colgate University

Unpaid interns at Colgate University have the alumni on their side, who have donated $4 million over the past five years to help students in unpaid, or even low-paid, internships. Reportedly, Colgate students can even develop their own grant proposals, complete with the ability to start their own internships with a host.

“We do allow students to do a self-designed summer,” added Michael Sciola, the associate vice president for institutional advancement and career initiatives.

University of Chicago

This school recent guaranteed their Odyssey Scholars will have a paid internship for their first summer. Reportedly, 232 students participated in this internship program.

Reportedly, this was done to prevent students from choosing internships over if they will be paid, essentially determining a career path over its convenience. “We don’t want our students to pick a field because it pays and overlook another field because it doesn’t pay for an internship,” explained Meredith Daw, executive director of career advancement at the University of Chicago, according to The New York Times.

Pace University

Pace offered 4,000 internships last year, with less than half being unpaid. “We’re not trying to proselytize with these students, but we’d like their eyes to be open to the second and third sectors in our economy,” stated Phyllis Mooney, the executive director of career services.

Wanting to help promote careers in nonprofits throughout New York City, likeHousing Works and the Legal Aid Society, the school’s own Wilson internship program helps students earn $16 an hour, or $4,480 for eight weeks.

Georgetown University

According to the student paper, The Hoya, “is working to develop a program that would provide low- and middle-income students with stipends to support their work at unpaid internships. Though the details about the program are limited, the funding would ideally allow these students to receive stipends commensurate to what they would earn if they took a job instead of the internship.”

Castleberry Police Department

Heather Bard, a 33-year-old Castleberry, Florida, woman, was arrested on Tuesday, October 31 and accused of having sex with her friend’s 16-year-old son.

Bard of was arrested after the boy’s father found Facebook messages between his son and Bard. The messages discussed an event where they drank alcohol and engaged in sexual activity.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, upon seeing the messages, the boy’s father called his ex-wife, who was there the night the incident occurred. While the mother acknowledged that Bard and her son were “drinking and touchy with each other”, she asked him not to call the police.

On October 17, the father contacted the police, who opened an investigation. After the investigation, Bard was arrested on charges of sexual battery on a victim of 16 or 17 years old and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Bard was arrested and transported to the Seminole County jail and held on a $15,500 bond. The state attorney’s office is considering whether the boy’s mother should also be charged in the case.

Social Justice Unit: University Of Michigan Gives SJWs Free Room And Board To Investigate Bias

At the University of Michigan, Social Justice Investigators are on the scene to examine “bias incidents” and promote “inclusive language” within the study body and on campus. A total of 20 lucky SJWs have been given room and board at the University of Michigan, and in exchange have agreed to act as officers for Social Justice, working 20 hours a week on Ann Arbor campus. Their duties include promoting the University of Michigan’s “Inclusive Language Campaign,” taking part in “bystander intervention,” as well as seek out and communicate with people who claim to be victims of “bias incidents.”

Assistant director of diversity and inclusion, Nicola Saliendra, has confirmed that 20 students have been granted free room and board on the condition that they spread social justice propaganda and act as SJW investigators, according to a report from Campus Reform.

But the participants in the programs won’t be titled “Social Justice Investigators,” that’s just a cute name tag I’ve applied to this bunch of proactive bias busters. Instead, each participant will have the prestigious title of “diversity peer educator.”

The University of Michigan is a public research university in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The school is tax-payer funded.

What do Diversity Peer Educators do?

Instagram Photo

This group of SJIs will look to investigate and resolve “bias incidents” by way of contacting the alleged victims and assisting them to “rebuild the community” through “restorative justice principles.”

However, it isn’t clear whether or not this group will contact – or have the authority to contact- those who have been accused of perpetuating or instigating a “bias incident.”

Just in the month of October alone, students at the University of Michigan reported 23 “bias incidents.”

Diversity Peer Educators also work to stamp out “offensive language” by promoting Michigan’s Inclusive Language Campaign. In 2015, the university spent $16,000 on that campaign, which could have covered a full year scholarship for a resident of Michigan.

Here are words that are unacceptable by the language police over at the University of Michigan: “insane,” “retarded,” “gay,” “ghetto” and “illegal alien.” These words are said to offend the mentally ill, the disabled, homosexuals, economically-disadvantage minorities, and undocumented immigrants/persons.

The useful charts are available to inform you which phrases not to use. “That test raped me,” for example, “carelessly diminishes the experience of survivors of sexual assault.”

Even the phrase “I want to die” (when not used seriously) could have life-threatening implications to others, as it can “can make survivors feel silenced by implying that self-harm is laughable or not a real problem.”

The Diversity Peer Educators will also host social justice-related trainings and other education programming in dormitories and other places on campus.

University of Michigan’s PC Culture

Instagram Photo

Last year, the President from the University of Michigan, Mark Schlissel, sent out an e-mail, taking a jab at students who are Trump supporters. He wrote that he found it “ironic” that these students felt “marginalized and ostracized” following the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election.

In August of this year, the university opened up a job position for an overseer of their “Bias Response Team.” They are looking for someone to “enact cultural appropriation prevention initiatives.” The official title of this job is “bias incident prevention and response coordinator.” This job offers a starting salary between $46,000 and $57,000.

The school also tried to let their students chose their own pronouns during the last academic year. However, this venture turned out to be a failure.

Over the past few years, “bias reporting systems” have been popping up around 230 American colleges and universities – 143 of them are publicly funded schools (such as the University of Michigan). According to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), roughly 2.84 million students in the United States can be put under the microscope regarding their speech and conduct as a result of the bias reporting system evaluations.

These “bias response teams” are usually made up of law enforcement officials, school administrators and public relations staffers. If found “guilty,” students will be summoned for hearings regarding the incident. These hearings are described as “quasi-disciplinary” and “intimidating.”
