Paul Manafort Net Worth 2017: $50 Million

Paul Manafort Jr., an American lobbyist, political consultant, and lawyer who served as Donald Trump’s campaign manager from June to August 2016, is worth approximately $50 million.

1975-2000

Manafort graduated from Georgetown University in 1971 with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and from Georgetown University Law School in 1974 with Juris Doctor degree.

Between 1977 and 1980 Manafort practiced law with the firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease in Washington, D.C.

In 1980 Manafort was a founding partner of Washington, D.C.-based lobbying firm Black, Manafort & Stone.

2000-Present

In 2007 and 2008 Manafort was involved in investment projects with Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska and Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash. Manafort reportedly negotiated a $10 million annual contract with Deripaska to promote Russian interests in politics, business, and media coverage in Europe and the United States.

Since 2012, Manafort has taken out seven home equity loans worth approximately $19.2 million on three separate New York-area properties he owns through holding companies registered to him and his son-in-law Jeffrey Yohai, a real estate investor.

Manafort disclosed that he made more than $17 million between 2012 and 2014 working for a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine.

According to a 2008 U.S. Justice Department annual report, Manafort’s company received $63,750 from Yanukovych’s Party of Regions over a six-month period ending on March 31, 2008, for consulting services.

Paris Games Week Sony

Sony

At the end of October, for one week game developers and publishers descend onto the city of Paris, France for the start of the Paris Games Week. The convention, which draws crowds from all over Europe and the world, aims to highlight and spotlight games currently in the works and what’s coming next in the world of gaming.

Sony, who has made an appearance at the convention in 2015 and 2016, has announced their second major “Media Briefing” for the convention (the first was back in 2015). After their impressive showing of new titles for both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation VR at last year’s Paris Games Week, the pressure is on Sony to deliver a great and worthwhile show… especially after the underwhelming conference that took place at this year’s Tokyo Game Show 2017.

Read on for more details on how to watch the next Sony Press Conference live:

Paris Games Week 2017: Sony Press Conference Live Stream Details:

What: Sony’s 2017 Paris Games Week Media Briefing
When: October 30th, 2017
Time: 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PDT
Watch: YouTube

With E3, Gamescom, and the Tokyo Game Show behind us already, fans have been wondering what Sony will be detailing in this press conference. Whether its a whole brand new slate of exciting and fresh new games or brand new looks at games we’ve already seen, this press conference will be one not to miss.

Right after the company’s E3 2017 conference, Sony announced that the majority of games shown would be released in the first half of 2018; so just from that bit of news we can expect to see new footage from: Insomniac’s Spider-Man, Quantic Dream’s Detroit: Become Human, and Sony’s juggernaut God of War. If these games are to come out by Summer next year, Paris Games Week will be our first indications of release dates!

Back in 2015 for Sony’s first Paris Games Week conference the company pulled out all the stops to show off what they were working on for their systems. Highlights from that year included: the announcement of DLC for the smash hit Bloodborne, new trailers for Horizon Zero Dawn GT Sport, the full reveal of PlayStation VR and the games coming to it, and finally the reveals of Michel Ansel’s Wild (which still has no new info) & Detroit: Become Human.

While we wait for the start of Paris Games Week to start, keep it locked on COED.com from all the hottest gaming news!

Natalia Dyer, the actress who plays Nancy on Stranger Things, actually looks like she was ripped out of a 1980’s movie where she played the girl next door.

Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Dyer made her on-screen debut in 2009, playing Clarissa Granger in Hannah Montana: The Movie. It was a helluva way for her to get her start in the industry, as the film ended up making $155.5 million at the box office.

After Hannah Montana: The Movie, Natalia kept busy with roles in various projects. Some of her most notable performances were as Lily in The Greening of Whitney Brown (2011), Grace in Blue Like Jazz (2012), Davina in I Believe in Unicorns (2014), and Banshee in Don’t Let Me Go (2016).

But without question, Natalia is best known for her role as Nancy Wheeler on Stranger Things, where she plays the girl we all wish we dated in high school.

Dyer, a student at NYU, studies at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

Strayer Education and Capella Education will merge together in a $1.9 billion all-stock deal, that will come complete with doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s programs for people throughout the United States.

Virginia & Minnesota Will Come Together In This Merger

Strayer shareholders will own 52% of the ultimately combined company, with Capella shareholders will have the remaining 48%, according to a statement made this Monday. Aiming to help working students across the country, the new for-profit education company expects to help 80,000 students.

According to Fortune, for-profit colleges have had problems trying to increase student enrollments over the past few years, with new roles being placed on student debt causing them to bind admission standards. Strayer had a market value of around $1.02 billion this past Friday, with over 45,000 students enrolled in their programs for the 2016 fall term. Meanwhile, Capella Education had a market value of around $764.5 million.

‘Committed to maintaining standards of excellence across both universities’

According to Forbes, the companies hope to retain a “significant presence” in Minneapolis, where Capella University is mostly based. Capella CEO Kevin Gilligan will take on the role of vice chairman for Strayer, with the company being able to nominate three directors to a board of 12.

The merger is hoped to garner an annual cost savings of around $50 million. By 2019, it is hoped that the deal should be accretive to Strayer’s per-share earnings by around 20% to 25%.

“We are committed to maintaining standards of excellence across both universities and our non-degreed businesses,” added Kevin Gilligan, Capella’s chief executive, in a released statement, according to Star Tribune.

College Football Power Rankings 2017: Week 10 Rankings

$
0
0

Yes, we all love rankings. The allure of getting to controversially anoint our favorite teams as being superior based on a fairly useless numerical system that attempts to quantify a respective team’s competitive nature (or lack thereof) is undeniable. With that being said, subjective rankings (like this one) give credence to the under the radar programs that perhaps would not get their deserved recognition without a numerical stamp of approval. While every ranking system is fallible, the purpose of these pieces should accomplish one essential thing: inspire thought-provoking discussions about this emotionally riveting sport. With that in mind, here are COED’s top 25 rankings for week 10.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

Similar to Georgia, Alabama has overcome a fairly weak schedule by blowing out the majority of their opponents. However, unlike Georgia, the Crimson Tide no longer have a reputable win on their schedule considering how far Florida State has fallen in recent weeks. Still, it’s hard to argue with the elite defense and fearless rushing attack of the Crimson Tide. The consummate juggernaut will have a chance to garner a legitimate win against an LSU program that is on the rise.

2. Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs are scary good. Aside from a close win early in the season against Notre Dame, the Bulldogs have crushed their opponents on both offense and defense. While the schedule as a whole is not very impressive, the way they have manhandled the opposition every week suggests that the Bulldogs are a hungry team that is mercilessly competitive. A convincing win over Auburn in two weeks could push them past Alabama for the top spot in the rankings.

3. Ohio State Buckeyes

J.T. freaking Barrett. 16 straight completions to win a nail-biter against a Goliath in Penn State. Say what you will about Barrett’s struggles against top competition, but the veteran quarterback did what he needed to do to lead his team to an insanely impressive win. As a result, the Buckeyes have vaulted themselves into the playoffs and can further bolster their already impressive resume by running the table.

4. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

After winning in dominant fashion against two ranked opponents over the last two weeks, the Fighting Irish are showing no signs of slowing down. With just the one loss against a dominant Georgia program, Notre Dame has the right blend of a competitive schedule along with the impressive victories to make them a serious playoff contender. While the schedule does not let up with two out of their next four matchups against ranked opponents, the Fighting Irish are a team that has proven to be unintimidated by elite competition.

5. Wisconsin Badgers

You can get away with a lot when you’re undefeated. Such is the case with a Badgers team that has one of the weakest schedules of a playoff contender. Yes, going undefeated is difficult, but when you consider that the Badgers barely beat Purdue and won unconvincingly against Illinois, you have to wonder how they would have fared against the likes of Ohio State or Penn State. Still, the Badgers record is without a blemish and will keep them in the playoff conversation until the Big 10 championship game.

6. Penn State Nittany Lions

Wow. Just when it looked like the Nittany Lions were going to walk out of the Horseshoe with an impressive win over Ohio State, the Buckeyes pulled a fast one and put together two legendary touchdown drives down the stretch. While the loss in itself is devastating, it does not necessarily knock the Nittany Lions out of the playoffs. They still have one of the most dynamic passers in Trace McSorley and perhaps the best overall player in Saquon Barkley. They’ll need some help to get there, but if the Nittany Lions run the table they could certainly help their cause.

7. Miami Hurricanes

The Hurricanes last four wins have not been pretty. Nevertheless, a win is a win and if nothing it else it showed that the Hurricanes have a playoff caliber defense. Yet, while Malik Rosier has been up and down statistically, this is due in part to the Hurricanes being wildly unbalanced in their running game as running back Travis Romer’s yards per rush number has gone from 8.5 versus Georgia Tech to 2.5 against an abysmal Tar Heels team. If the Hurricanes can establish more continuity offensively, their definitely a fierce opponent that no one will want to face come the postseason.

8. Clemson Tigers

Yes, the Tigers pulled off a solid win against Georgia Tech on Saturday night. However, at 24-10, it was not quite convincing enough for me to put them in the College Football Playoff. Sure the defense is great, but I need to see an emphatic win by the Tigers offense for them to be worthy of being a top-four team. If the Tigers can beatdown the Wolfpack in their next game, I would feel more than comfortable at possibly placing them in the playoff limelight.

9. Oklahoma State Cowboys

Similar to their arch-rivals in the Sooners, the Cowboys have had their issues defensively. Nevertheless, the Cowboys are privileged to have one of the best offenses in the country led quarterback Mason Rudolph. With Oklahoma and Iowa State coming up next, the Cowboys could quickly vault themselves into playoff consideration especially if they win both contests convincingly.

10. Oklahoma Sooners

All of the sudden, the Sooners lone loss to Iowa State looks pretty good when you consider what the Cyclones have accomplished this season. Yet when you consider the fact that the Sooners had trouble dispatching Texas, Kansas State and Texas Tech recently, you have to wonder if Oklahoma is for real. While their certainly gifted offensively, their defense has struggled at times and is clearly their Achilles heel going forward.

11. TCU Horned Frogs

Without question, the Horned Frogs loss to the Cyclones was brutal. After scoring at least 28 points in all of their previous contests, the once prolific offense of TCU was held in check. While it was a close loss at the hands of a scorching hot Cyclones program, it definitely was disconcerting to see quarterback Kenny Hill struggle so mightly under pressure. If TCU wants to bolster any chances of making the playoffs, they’ll need to run the table and beat a veteran Oklahoma team on the road.

12. Virginia Tech

Although Virginia Tech did not look great against a formidable Clemson defense, the Hokies have looked like the real deal in all of their other matchups. Quarterback Josh Jackson is one of the most exciting college football athletes that will be seriously considered as a Heisman candidate going next year if he can continue to make big plays for his team. With Miami on the schedule next, the Hokies will have a great opportunity to take the lead in a wide-open ACC Coastal division.

13. Washington Huskies

Aside from a loss to the Sun Devils two weeks ago, the Huskies have looked fantastic albeit against vastly inferior competition. Still, the Huskies have emphatically won all but one of the games they were expected to win and have a brutal schedule coming up with two out of their four next opponents being ranked. If the Huskies can win those next four contests, they could feasibly sneak back into the playoff conversation.

14. Iowa State Cyclones

When you consider the dubious legacy of the Cyclones against both Big 12 and ranked opponents, it’s almost unfathomable to comprehend how Iowa State has dispatched two top four teams. Yes, the nearly unthinkable has happened as the Cyclones have become the bullies of the Big 12 and dashed the hopes of both Oklahoma and TCU to make the College Football Playoff. With contests against West Virginia and Oklahoma State coming up next, the Cyclones could become the kings of their conference and force themselves into the College Football Playoff conversation.

15. UCF Knights

While a quick look at the Knights schedule would seem to suggest that they are vastly overrated, a more in-depth look at their individual matchups shows us one of the most well-balanced teams in college football. When you consider that they held offensive juggernauts in Memphis and Navy to a combined score of 34 points while their offense combined to score 71 points in those contests, it’s pretty clear that the Knights are for real. If the Knights can run the table, they could feasibly garner a New Years Six Bowl berth.

16. Auburn Tigers

If any team has two “good” losses on their resume it has to be the Auburn Tigers. Their two losses have both been by single-digit point spreads against two of the best defenses in college football in Clemson and LSU. Even in those losses, the Tigers stout defense looked great for the most part and quarterback Jarrett Stidham has allowed this team to have a viable offense this season. With Texas A&M and Georgia coming up on the schedule, the Tigers need to live up to the hype and prove they can put it all together against legitimate competition.

17. NC State Wolfpack

You have to give the Wolfpack a lot of credit for what they have accomplished this year. Considering the Wolfpack held their own in the first half against a relentless Notre Dame offense, it’s hard to downgrade this program too much. Still, the loss to the Fighting Irish ended up being a blowout and the Wolfpack were exposed as having a fairly weak defensive secondary. Sadly, this may not be the end of the devastation for the beloved Wolfpack as they take on Clemson this week.

18. LSU Tigers

Out of any fans in college football this season, those of the LSU Tigers have suffered from the most heart palpitations. Since losing to Troy in week 5, the Tigers won their next two games by a combined score of five points and won their most recent contest against Ole Miss convincingly. However, the Tigers and their devoted fan base will be in for another anxiety fueled affair as they go on the road to face an elite program in Alabama.

19. USC Trojans

Just when it looked like the Trojans were on the verge of being knocked out of the rankings as they took on Arizona State in the Saturday nightcap, Sam Darnold and the Trojans put together their best offensive performance of the year in a rout over a red-hot Sun Devils program. Aside from their next game against Arizona, the Trojans have a favorable schedule and should be able to finish strong.

20. Stanford Cardinal

Stanford’s win over Oregon State was not pretty. Granted they were without their superstar running back in Bryce Love, but given the fact that the Beavers have just one win this season, the Cardinal should have won more convincingly. Still, the Cardinal have performed well on defense in their last four games and will get a chance to redeem themselves as they face Washington State on the road this week.

21. Washington State Cougars

When the Cougars have lost, they have been absolutely crushed in embarrassing fashion. After relinquishing 58 points to a highly-talented albeit one-dimensional Arizona offense, the Cougars have continued to fall precipitously in the rankings. Considering their last three games are against Stanford, Utah, and Washington respectively, it’s hard to imagine the now-woeful Cougars staying afloat in the rankings in the coming weeks.

22. Memphis Tigers

One of these days, the Tiger’s dreadful defense is going to start costing them games. Until then, college football fans get to be treated to one of the most exciting offenses to watch this season thanks largely in part to the connection between quarterback Riley Fergurson and wide receiver Anthony Miller. Aside from an intriguing home game against SMU, the Tigers have an easy schedule the rest of the way and could very well finish out the season with just one loss on the season.

23. Arizona Wildcats

After getting off to a wildly inconsistent 2-2 start, the Wildcats have looked nearly unstoppable on offense. While the Wildcats have struggled to throw the ball, quarterback Khalil Tate has been able to run the football effectively while making big plays with his arm only when he has to do so. The biggest concern for the Wildcats going forward is a poor defense that has allowed 30.3 PPG this season (88th in college football).

24. South Florida Bulls

For a one-loss team, the Bulls do not have a ton of room for error. Although their heartbreaking loss to the Houston Cougars may seem like a ranking death sentence, consider that both Quinton Flowers (two rushing touchdowns, a season-high completion percentage of 60.5%) and the Bulls defense (lost on a late touchdown run) played fairly well. While the Bulls certainly have their issues, they played well enough in this loss to stay in the rankings…for now.

25. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Admittedly, the Bulldogs have not looked great against ranked teams. Aside from a blowout win against LSU earlier in the season, the Bulldogs lost back to back games against Georgia and Auburn by a combined score of 80-13. Still, the Bulldogs have looked great on both sides of the ball during the last three weeks, especially against the likes of Kentucky and Texas A&M. Can the Bulldogs continue to remain consistently competitive down the stretch?

New Hampshire College Student On Verge Of Modeling Contract After Gorgeous Photos Go Viral

A New Hampshire college student has earned herself a modeling contract after a stunning photo of her at a music festival went viral.

Anok Yai, a 19-year-old sophomore at Plymouth State University, went viral last weekend after a photographer snapped a couple pictures of her while she was attending Howard University’s popular homecoming festivities in Washington, D.C.

via Boston Globe:

A New Hampshire college student’s dreams to become a model may be one step closer to coming true with the help of a viral photograph and a flock of supportive new social media followers. Anok Yai, a 19-year-old sophomore at Plymouth State University, was at a homecoming event at Howard University in Washington, D.C., last weekend when a photographer took her photo for his Instagram account, theSUNK.

Yai, who grew up in Manchester, N.H., after moving from Egypt with her family in 2000, said fashion and art have always interested her, but modeling just felt like a far-fetched dream. She studies biochemistry, but said she could see herself modeling now as a part-time gig. Three modeling agencies have already reached out to her, she said Tuesday night. Yai said she was genuinely surprised by everyone’s reactions. When she first saw the photo, her initial thought was that she disliked the way her face looked and considered it “an average photo.”

“At first, I questioned what everyone was seeing because I didn’t really see it,” she said. “Honestly, I think that people get so used to seeing themselves that people don’t see their own beauty because they see it every day.”

Yai, a biochemistry student at Plymouth State University, moved to the United States with her family from Egypt in 2000.

So far, Yai said she’s heard from three different modeling agencies.

Quavo & Offset Tried To Fight What Could Be The Largest Human Being On Earth

Look, I don’t know how big The Mountain from Game Of Thrones is, but whoever this dude is, he looks bigger. Maybe not taller, but certainly wider. Either way, this dude that Quavo and Offset of Migos tried to jump probably weighs as much as the two of them combined.

What’s strange is that I’m actually a little torn on where I stand on this mini-brawl.

On one hand, jumping someone in this way is a bitch move, no matter the time or place. That said, to jump THIS dude, takes some serious, dare I say, Quavos (that’s a huevos joke).

via TMZ:

Quavo and Offset from Migos took a couple of hard swings at a guy twice their size … and came up short. The 2 members of the rap trio got into a scuffle Thursday night at the W Hotel off Lexington Ave. in NYC, after their show at the Power 105.1 Powerhouse concert.

It looks like the man was in an altercation with another group of guys before Quavo and Offset jumped in. Some of those dudes might have been in Migos’ camp, especially by the way Quavo and Offset reacted. Unclear what exactly set things off.

Law enforcement sources tell us cops were not called to the hotel, so it would appear this one got handled in the streets. We’ve reached out to Migos for comment … so far, no word back.

While no serious blows are landed, the highlight of the video is the preposterous first swing and miss by Quavo, who has to leap half-a-foot off the ground to even come close to reaching this monstrosity’s face.

Southern Illinois University Annual Unofficial Halloween Bash 2017

The Southern Illinois University Halloween tradition continued with the 2017 edition of the ‘Unofficial Halloween.’ This October bar crawl took place at the Stix and Traxx on October 16th and 17th. This is an annual party that could match the level of excitement Octoberfest brings. With this event, however, we got to wear costumes making it as much of a spectacle as it is a party.

In the town of Carbondale, many bars close and kegs are banned for the Halloween shenanigans that come with this event. This is a result of rioting that has taken place throughout the town’s history as a result of students partying a little too hard. So in response to this, the good students at SIU take to the streets and boo-ze it up all night. Attendees stumbled around like drunk zombies last weekend enjoying good music and even better company making this year another successful ‘Unofficial Halloween’ that was ‘officially’ a great and wild time.

While some may have regretted some decisions in the morning I’m sure most agreed there time at SIU this week was well worth it. Here is a recap video filmed and edited by our College Ambassador at SIU – Rashad. Follow Rashad on Instagram and Snapchat @xRashadx.

Macon County Sheriff’s Office

Allyson Brittany Moran, a 26-year-ol former substitute teacher and soccer coach at Stockbridge High School, has been scheduled to face trial on charges that she sexually assaulted a teenage student in April.

According to Michigan State Police, Moran, 26, was arrested Thursday, October 26, in Illinois. Moran, who worked as a substitute teacher and girls soccer coach at Stockbridge High School in Mason, Illinois, faces three felony counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a student and one misdemeanor count of fourth-degree criminal sexual involving a student.

Moran, a Decatur, Illinois, resident, was contracted as a long-term substitute teacher at Stockbridge High School during the 2016-2017 academic year.

According to the victim’s testimony, the victim, a teenage boy, was a student in Moran’s class last fall. The boy told his girlfriend about the incidents in July, he said, and a family member called police in August.

via Lansing State Journal:

The boy said he frequently ate lunch in Moran’s classroom and hung out in her room after school even when the fall semester was over. Sometimes they were alone, and sometimes other students were present, he said.

In March, the two began exchanging messages on Snapchat, a social networking platform that typically erases messages and multimedia after they are viewed. Moran and the boy eventually exchanged nude pictures of themselves via Snapchat, he said.

In April, while the school was on spring break, Moran invited the boy to her home in Dansville but told him to park away from the home so her neighbors wouldn’t see his car, he testified.

When he arrived, Moran led him into a basement “man cave,” then took off her robe and kissed him, the boy said. They then went to an upstairs bedroom.

Her arraignment in Ingham County Circuit Court is scheduled for November 8.

If convicted, Moran faces up to 15 years in prison.

Week 10, College Football Picks 2017: Spread & Predictions

Are you ready for potentially the best week in college football? After a week where upsets and thrilling contests were enticingly common, week 10 promises to supersede those moments as there are a plethora of ranked vs. ranked contests to enjoy. As pundits attempt to predict how the College Football Playoff will turn out, top-tier college football programs will battle fiercely against formidable conference rivals for supremacy. While there are some initial favorites that could very well clinch a playoff spot, several programs that are on the rise will look to make a serious push for a chance to compete for a national title. Will the likes of Alabama and Georgie remain at the top or will those on the outside looking in get a chance at a coveted playoff spot?

Auburn Tigers (16) vs. Texas A&M Aggies

Instagram Photo

Aside from Alabama and Georgia, there has been a ton of movement in the SEC in terms of early competitors becoming pretenders and vice versa. While the Tigers have looked fantastic on both sides of the ball more often than not, a recent loss to LSU on the road suggests that the Tigers still have issues on offense and lack the killer instinct to close out big games. The Aggies are a young team that is still trying to find an identity on both offense and defense, especially with freshman quarterback Kellen Mond still going through growing pains. Although the Aggies have some nice wins on their resume and are the only team that was able to compete with Alabama earlier in the season, the Tigers have too much firepower on both offense and defense for this scrappy Aggies program to overcome.

Final Score: Tigers 36 Aggies 20 Spread: Auburn -15.0

Penn State Nittany Lions (7) vs. Michigan State Spartans (24)

Instagram Photo

With both teams coming off brutal losses last week, it goes without saying that each program is going to come into this game with a fiery attitude. After being considered the best defense in college football in terms of points allowed, the Lions were gashed on back to back drives as Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett looked every bit like the quarterback the Buckeyes need to go the distance. Similarly, the once stout defense of the Spartans gave up 39 points to Northwestern on the road, something that the Spartans had not allowed since losing to Notre Dame earlier in the season where they relinquished 38 points. Certainly, this contest could be fairly close early on as each team tries to shake off their respective losses from last week. However, the Nittany Lions have the offensive power to overwhelm a Spartans squad that is overly-reliant on their defense to bail them out.

Final Score: Nittany Lions 31 Spartans 19 Spread: Penn State -8.0

Stanford Cardinal (18) vs. Washington State Cougars (25)

Instagram Photo

Without Bryce Love, the Cardinal are completely inept on offense. While their defense is fundamentally sound, it’s not quite elite enough to suppress an opportunistic team. Although the Cougars are that and more, their once disciplined and underrated defense has looked dreadful recently, especially against the run. The only thing that has kept the Cougars afloat in the majority of their victories is the confident quarterback play of Luke Falk, who thrown a combined seven touchdowns when his completion percentage was under 50% (three games). Even though Luke Falk and the Cougars have been far better at home than on the road, the Cardinal have one of the best rushing games in the country and also have an exceptional defense, which should be enough to take down the Cougars.

Final Score: Cardinal 38 Cougars 33 Spread: Washington State -2.0

Clemson Tigers (6) vs. NC State Wolfpack (20)

Instagram Photo

Despite losing 35-14 to Notre Dame last week, the Wolfpack still possess one of the most defensively sound front seven in college football while having an intelligent quarterback in Ryan Finley. With that being said, if we learned anything from Saturday it is that talented teams that have depth will usually overcome a feisty underdog that makes few albeit crucial mistakes in big moments. Comparatively speaking, Clemson is the far more talented program on both sides of the ball and now have a healthy Kelly Bryant who can make big plays both through the air and on the ground. While the Wolfpack are certainly going in the right direction and could feasibly be a conference contender down the road, the lack of elite talent will do them in against Clemson.

Final Score: Tigers 29 Wolfpack 20 Spread: Clemson -7.5

Oklahoma Sooners (8) vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys (11)

Instagram Photo

Regardless of respective records, both of these teams undeniably play with a different edge when they face each other every year. Considering both teams are both exceptional offensively and have veteran quarterbacks, it’s hard to imagine this game being anything other than a highly-competitive shootout. The difference in this game will ultimately be which inconsistent defense breaks first. While both defenses have looked spectacular in certain moments, they have almost always succumbed to solid opposing offenses and are overly reliant on their prolific passing attacks to bail them out. Although this is clearly a toss-up affair, I’m giving a very slight edge to the Cowboys as they have a star wideout in James Washington and the better featured running back in Justice Hill.

Final Score: Sooners 38 Cowboys 41 Spread: Oklahoma State -3.0

UCF Knights (15) vs. SMU Mustangs

Instagram Photo

While the American Athletic Conference has been shunned by pundits as being uninteresting due to a lack of competitive teams, the Knights and the Mustangs are actually two of the best offensive teams in the country. Knights quarterback McKenzie Milton has quietly put up eye-popping numbers (72.9 CMP %, 19 touchdowns, three interceptions, 11.28 yards per pass attempt) while the Mustangs have a great receiving corps led by wideout Courtland Sutton (nine touchdowns). The most notable and obvious difference between these two programs is that Knights are defensively sound and the Mustangs are particularly poor in that regard. While this has not affected the Mustangs negatively for the most part, against a program like UCF, the Mustangs will have their work cut for them trying to keep up with the Knights on both defense and offense. For this reason, the Knights will win a fairly close contest and remain undefeated on the season.

Final Score: Knights 37 Mustangs 29 Spread: UCF -13.5

LSU Tigers (19) vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (1)

Instagram Photo

Finally, a contest where Alabama will actually be tested. While this statement does not suggest that the Crimson Tide are overrated, it does emphatically put pressure on a highly talented albeit largely untested SEC program. Ever since losing to Troy, the Tigers have been ferocious on defense and have persevered on offense with quarterback Danny Etling playing just well enough to allow running back Derrius Guice to do his thing. However, against a stout Alabama run defense, the Tigers are overmatched and will be forced to be reliant on Etling way too often. Combine that with the fact that the Tide have a dominant rushing attack themselves and you have a matchup that is interesting but ultimately favors Alabama for obvious reasons.

Final Score: Tigers 23 Crimson Tide 37 Spread: Alabama -21.5

Virginia Tech Hokies (13) vs. Miami Hurricanes (9)

Instagram Photo

The Hokies, in their wins, have looked fairly dominant thanks to an elite defense and a well-balanced offense led by future college football superstar Josh Jackson. While the Hurricanes are still undefeated, their last four wins have been anything but convincing, especially their most recent victory over a woeful Tar Heels program. The lack of continuity in the rushing game for the Hurricanes has put all the pressure on quarterback Malik Rosier. While Rosier can make impressive plays with both his arms and legs, he’s not quite confident enough to single-handedly lead this team to wins over well-balanced ranked opponents. Although the Hurricanes have a physical defense that can endure a lot of punishment, it simply will not be enough to allow the Hurricanes to sneak past the big play Hokies.

Final Score: Hokies 30 Hurricanes 21 Spread: Virginia Tech -2.5

Oregon Ducks vs. Washington Huskies (12)

Instagram Photo

Despite being completely reliant on their elite running game led by running back Royce Freeman, the Ducks have a winning record and took care of business against a formidable Utes defense last week. However, the Ducks have not faced a defense as stingy as that of the Huskies. Giving up 20+ points only once this season, the Huskies have had their way in all of their wins with a typical margin of victory being three scores or more. On top of that, the Huskies have a highly efficient passer in Jake Browning who has completed nearly 69% of his passes this season while throwing just four interceptions. While the prolific rushing game of the Ducks could frustrate the Huskies initially, their defense is just too elite to be fooled by that type of predictability for long.

Final Score: Ducks 28 Huskies 37 Spread: Washington -25.0

Arizona Wildcats (23) vs. USC Trojans (17)

Instagram Photo

With two contrasting offensive styles in this contest, it will be compelling to see which team perseveres in what should be a high scoring affair. For the Wildcats to succeed, they will need quarterback Khalil Tate to continue to work his magic as a rusher, something that has not been a problem during the Wildcats four-game winning streak. While the Trojans have had their issues with protecting the ball in the passing game, all of that goes out the window when Sam Darnold is feeling confident. With both teams having weak defenses, this game should come down to who has the ball last. Considering how consistent and dominant the Wildcats have looked offensively, I’m giving the edge to an Arizona rushing attack that no one has been able to stop recently.

Final Score: Wildcats 42 Trojans 38 Spread: USC -7.5

Wales Farmhouse Fire: Full Story & Must-See Details

Seven family members are feared dead after a fire tore through their farmhouse and burnt it to the ground while they slept. The inferno occurred at a rented home in Llangammarch Wells, Powys, Wales, where a couple lived with their eight children. Authorities confirm that three of the five children (ages 13, 12, and 10) were able to escape the blaze when the fire spread in the early morning.

The roof of the farmhouse had completely caved in, according to photos of the aftermath. Firefighters, police, and forensics scientists searched through the rubble, looking to locate the bodies of the seven missing family members: five children and the married couple.

Shortly after midnight, emergency services were called to the burning farmhouse.

Chief Inspector Martin Slevin said, “There are a number of people unaccounted for at this time and we can confirm that there are known to be fatalities.”

The total number of fatalities is currently unknown, according to a police spokesman. However, locals of the area fear that the couple of farmhouse and five of their children died in the blaze.

“Due to the severity of damage at the scene we are unable at this stage to identify any of the deceased or confirm numbers,” said Slevin.” Specialist scientists and fire investigators are still assessing the scene prior to further investigation.”

One neighbor said, “All I know is they had lots of kids and seemed like a big happy family. It is possible that one or two weren’t there because of the school holidays. But if all eight children were at home it’s too dreadful to think about.”

Another neighbor at a close-by caravan holiday park said, “I woke up at about 2am to get a glass of water and I could see the place was floodlit by police and emergency services. There were helicopters there a bit later. We’ve heard a number of people died.”

Chief Inspector Slevin said, “Upon arrival the house was ablaze and three children aged 13, 12 and 10 years were able to escape. They are being treated in hospital but do not have life threatening injuries. At this time we are treating the cause of the fire as unexplained.”

According to Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the flame was fully-formed when firefighters arrived at the farmhouse. Four crews of emergency ambulances, Hazardous Area Response Team, and the Brecon Mountain Rescue team were sent to the scene of the blaze.

Kirsty Williams, AM for Brecon and Radnorshire, said, “This is devastating news in such a close-knit community. I’d like to express my deepest sympathies to those affected and thank the emergency services for their assistance.”

Harris, who graduated summa cum laude from Towson University before starting her graduate career at Marymount University, wanted to help kids combating depression. Harris’ mother said it was “ironic”, saying the boy who killed her is a kid Marisa would’ve helped.

The unidentified boy was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

via WUSA 9:

According to police, Harris was driving her 2005 Ford Escape, traveling east on I-66, when the boy jumped from the Cedar Lane overpass in Fairfax County, incapacitating her.

Harris’ family said her boyfriend, who was in the passenger’s seat, took control of the car and steered it off of the interstate.

Police responded to the accident at 4:18 p.m. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. Her boyfriend was not injured. Police transported the 12-year-old boy to Fairfax Inova Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Towson University released a statement about Harris’ tragic passing:

Marisa was a caring, giving person who intended to devote her life to helping children in crisis. We also send our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the injured 12-year-old, who apparently was seeking an escape from this world for whatever reasons. The crash is still under investigation and there is no further information at this time.

Florida Gators Next Head Coach: Top 5 Options After Jim McElwain

Florida Gators New Coach

Source: Shutterstock.com

Jim McElwain has been fired at Florida, via Football Scoop’s Zach Barnett, after news of McElwain’s own family getting death threats over Florida’s slow start.

According to SB Nation, the school released the following statement over the death threats, saying, “The University Athletic Association takes the safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and families very seriously. Our administration met with Coach McElwain this afternoon and he offered no additional details.”

With McElwain’s dismissal from the school, we have decided to make a list of the top choices they have for the next possible coaches.

Here are top coaches we think could fill up McElwain’s shoes…cleats?

1. Scott Frost, UCF Head Coach

A former quarterback, Frost has built up the Knights, who are averaging 47.3 points per game, helping him to lead one of the best mid-major teams in the country. Besides, Florida’s too hot, it needs some Frost.

2. Willie Taggart, Oregon Head Coach

The list admits that Taggart might need to take his time in order to build up a team, which put Florida in this position to begin with, but Taggart has shown that he still can build up a team when he has had his few good years, and Florida is currently in need of a good turnaround.

3. Mike Norvell, Memphis Head Coach

He’s a former Arizona State offensive coordinator, with America’s No. 8 scoring offense with the Tigers on his side.

4. DJ Durkin, Maryland Head Coach

Okay, Durkin might not have a lot of wins attached to his name just yet, but he has five years under his belt as Florida’s defensive staff

5. Les Miles, Former LSU Head Coach

Over his career, Miles has earned a 72% win percentage, with him being known for his desire to coach again. Also, who doesn’t like the novelty of the name “Les,” combined with a last name that sounds like a first name?

Who would you want as your choice?

Detroit: Become Human

Developer: Quantic Dream

One of the most surprising trailers shown during the show was the latest trailer for Quantic Dream’s next “interactive storytelling” game, Detroit: Become Human. Set in the real city of Detroit, Michigan the game follows multiple story lines all involving the uprising of an android revolution. How the events of the story are fully left to the actions players make in the decisions they are faced with. PlayStation 4
Release Date:
 TBA

Naughty Dog’s HIGHLY anticipated sequel to one of the most acclaimed titles of all time finally showed off a new look at The Last of Us Part II with a heart-pounding and an intense trailer showing off new characters in this universe. Starting with the attempted  hanging of an unnamed woman, three “cult-like” people are picked off by two people coming to stop the hanging. Not much is said but the trailer shows a pretty brutal attack on one of the rescuers, I honestly had to look away for a second. New questions have been raised especially due to the trailer’s dialogue hinting at two factions rising up and clashing with each other.  The game still has no release date but all signs point to a 2019 release.

Tomi Lahren Instagram: Best Photos & Must-See Pictures

$

Tomi Lahren, 25, is a conservative Fox News pundit who has garnered a bit of controversy over the weekend for an Instagram post where she is wearing the American flag like a cape. Lahren is well-known for her criticism of NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem, particularly regarding Colin Kaepernick. And now flag defenders are coming against Lahren as well, citing the U.S. Flag Code 36 U.S.C. 176, which reads, “The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery.”

In the now-controversial Instagram photo, Lahren is seen wearing a blue “Make America Great Again” swimsuit, with arms up in the arm above a flowing American flag cape. She is also wearing a stars and stripes fanny pack.

Instagram Photo

The caption on Lahren’s blazing hot and intentionally patriotic photo reads, “Oh LA get ready to find your safe spaces! What am I? Well if you’re a conservative, I’m America AF. If you’re a lib, I’m “offensive.” Let’s go. #TeamTomi #Halloween #MAGA #Merica #makeHalloweenGreatAgain”.

The reason why I wrote that the photo is “intentionally patriotic” is because I believe Lahren was attempting to demonstrate her love for America, draping herself in old glory, while dressed in red, white, and blue from wrist to thigh (at the very least). However, as it turns out, wearing and/or draping the American flag is considered a violation of the U.S. Flag Code 36 U.S.C. 176.

One Instagram user, tn.stephen, wrote on her American flag photo, “Don’t kneel for the anthem, disrespect your flag by wearing it as clothing. Hypocritical much?”

But Tomi Lahren can take the heat. She’s a conservative afterall. Definitely no snowflake.

Who is Tomi Lahren?

Instagram Photo

Tomi Lahren was born on August 11, 1992, in Rapid City, South Dakoka. In 2014, she graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a double major bachelor degree in broadcast journalism and political science. She currently resides in Dallas, Texas.

Lahren is a contributor to Fox News, and also works as part of the Great America Alliance, an advocacy organization which supports President Donald Trump. The 25-year-old conservative political commentator first gained national attention, as the host of On Point with Tomi Lahren on One America News Network, which first aired in August 2014.

The political pundit received a ton of controversy back in July 2016, when she compared Black Lives Matter to the Klu Klux Klan. As a result of her remarks, over 56,000 people signed a petition to have her fired from her job at TheBlaze. Despite the public outrage, the petition was unsuccessful and she retained her job with the company.

Lahren hosted Tomi on TheBlaze until she was suspended from the organization after appearing on The View and stating that she believes “woman should have access to abortion.” She was suspended with pay following her comments, as the owner Glenn Beck is pro-life and openly criticized Lahren for her opinion on the issue. She later filed a wrongful termination suit, and settled upon an agreement that she left her Facebook page intact, but had to remove videos she had made with TheBlaze.

She is a former supporter of Marco Rubio for president, as she endorsed the Florida politician in January 2016 during the Republican National Convention. However, she is currently a supporter of current U.S. President Donald Trump.

On October 28, 2017, Lahren garnered even more controversy when she posted a photo of herself on Instagram, wearing the American flag as a cape.

On top of the announcement of the game’s official release date, Nintendo decided to take fans into the studio of Psyonix to take a tour and to see the game in action! Sporting a few technical downgrades from its PC, Xbox One and PS4 versions, Rocket League for Nintendo Switch will invigorate Switch owners as they get fully addicted to the game’s gameplay.

Set in an arena that somewhat resembles a real-life soccer arena, two teams of three players drive and crash the ball into their opponent’s goal. Blending these two completely different sports on paper sounds a bit odd but when you jump into a match of Rocket League, it becomes easy to understand and hard to put down.

Since the game is releasing on the Nintendo Switch (one of the first huge third party games to launch on the console), both Nintendo and Psyonix decided to treat Switch owners to a special treat when they buy the game: not only will the game but completely up to date with its other versions but players will get three Nintendo themed cars to take out on the field. Two of the cars are modeled after the Super Mario Brothers themselves, Mario and Luigi, while the third takes on the sleek and stylish persona of Metroid protagonist Samus Aran! Players can get these cars ONLY in the Nintendo Switch edition of the game.
