If you haven’t heard by now, the United States Men’s National Soccer team suffered it’s biggest defeat in history on Tuesday night, losing to pitiful Trinidad & Tobago by a score of 2-1, failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in the process.

While Team USA missing the 2018 World Cup in Russia is a huge blow for soccer fans, it’s mainly a crushing blow to the youth of the nation playing the sport. A kid who could have been the best soccer player this country has ever seen may not even play the sport now because of Team USA’s absence from the World Cup.

Just imagine an 8-year-old boy watching Christian Pulisic score a World Cup goal — kid will probably be glued to a soccer ball for the rest of his life. Now? Nothing.

BBC interviewed a bunch of kids to see how they feel about Team USA not making the World Cup and let’s just say they didn’t mince words.

While we’re all laughing at Team USA’s plights now, as a true soccer fan, let me tell you, it is going to SUCK not having them in Russia next summer.

A shooting incident in Chula Vista, California has sent nearby schools into lockdown mode. Nearby college students report seeing an increased police presence on campus, while their lecture halls and classrooms are locked off. Schools such as Eastlake High School and Olympic View Elementary have also been placed on lockdown as of 8:30 A.M. PT.

Update (10/13/17; 1:09 P.M EST): The lockdown has been lifted and the robbery/shooting suspect has been arrested, according to Sweetwater Union schools spokesperson Manny Rubio. However, the details surrounding the incident robbery/shooting at the nearby pharmacy is still unclear. The gunman reportedly fire shots at employees at either a Walgreens or Walmart (depending on the source) after they had tried to prevent the suspect from stealing alcohol. Rubio said that the lockdown was a precautionary measure, and there was no immediate danger to students. The lockdown lasted for roughly 30 minutes. At around 9:30 A.M., the lockdown was officially lifted.

Update (10/13/17; 1:28 P.M. EST): Chula Vista police Capt. Eric Thunberg said that the robbery/shooting incident occurred just before 8:20 a.m. Friday at the Walgreens pharmacy at 1430 Eastlake Parkway, less than a mile from the high school. The shooter had a handgun, and was apprehended by police.

Update (10/13/17; 1:28 P.M. EST): “Our investigation found that the suspect tried to steal alcohol from the Walgreens,” Thunberg said. “When employees prevented him from doing so, he exited the store, pulled out a handgun and fire a round back towards the store and fled. No injuries were reported, and officers found the suspect and took him into custody “a short distance away.”

The shooting is said to have occurred near either a Walmart or Walgreens in Chula Vista, San Diego. At around 8:30 A.M., police responded to a shooting incident at the Rancho Buena Vista apartment complex across the street from the Eastlake High School campus, which is located at 1120 Eastlake Parkway.

After months of teasers and trailers, the release of Stranger Things season 2 is a mere two weeks away and we couldn’t be more excited.

Picking up where season 1 left off, Strangers Things season 2 seems to be doubling down on all the things that made the first season so enjoyable.

With creatures from the Upside Down making their way to Hawkins, it seems that the fate of the small Indiana town will be in the hands of Will Beyers and Eleven.

Set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, the first season focuses on the investigation into the disappearance of a young boy amid supernatural events occurring around the town including the appearance of a psychokinetic girl who helps the missing boy’s friends in their own search.

Season two  is set a year after the first, and deals with attempts of the characters to return to normal and consequences from that season.

Stranger Things is an American science fiction-horror web television series created, written, directed and co-executive produced by the Duffer Brothers, as well as co-executive-produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen. The first season, released in July 2016, stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, and Matthew Modine, with Noah Schnapp and Joe Keery in recurring roles.

The second season, to be released on October 27, 2017, will see Schnapp and Keery promoted to series regulars, along with the addition of Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery.

Facebook has formally revealed a new feature that will allow user to order food from local restaurants using an app. The new option is called “Order Food” and can be found in the Explore menu in the Facebook app.

Before you worry about it competing with your favorite delivery service, Facebook is actually working alongside some of them for this new service: EatStreet, Delivery.com, DoorDash, ChowNow, Olo, Zuppler and Slice.

It is even working with some popular restaurant chains directly: Jack in the Box, Five Guys, Papa John’s, Wingstop, TGI Friday’s, Denny’s, El Pollo Loco, Chipotle, Jimmy John’s and Panera.

How do you use the app?

As with most similar services, you can make orders for takeout or delivery, and you can use it if you already have a Delivery.com account; otherwise, you will need to sign up for a Delivery.com account, said the company in a statement, according to TechCrunch. In addition to purchasing food, you’ll also get to read reviews from your friends about restaurants in question.

Reportedly, the idea to introduce the app came about when Facebook realized people would leave the app for other tasks. Similar programs being introduced include weather information, instant games, and even a jobs board. That said, the new service is not a direct revenue driver for Facebook; the company has said that it does not charge any fees or obtain a portion of the profits through the orders.

Forget the grind of getting to class or work in the morning–the future of transportation is now. Unlike those gimmick-type scooter or electric skateboard that seem to come out every month, I can say that the Alva Rides Reflex is here to stay. You may recognize this type of e-bike as the one that Casey Neistadt reviewed recently, but the Reflex is better (and cheaper).

We’ve been kicking around the Alva Rides Reflex since the company’s founder, Doug Kaufman, dropped one of at our office a few weeks ago. You can check out COED’s impromptu Facebook Live video here (Part 1 | Part 2).

I for one enjoy the Reflex because it’s a ton of fun to ride it around, and I see that other commuters are curious about it. Seeing the look on people’s faces as I carve though streets of NYC is priceless. Thankfully the Reflex also cuts some time off my commute because as soon as I fold it up, people ask me questions about it. How does it charge? With a two-prong plug. Where is the engine? I don’t know. Is it scary to ride? No. Where can I get one? Kickstarter.

In those Facebook Live videos above, you can see an example of a pedestrian asking questions within less than a minute of us being out on the streets with the Reflex.

Keep in mind that I’m 6’3″ and 225 (on a light day) and that I don’t have any issues riding around the city. I’m a big Citi Bike guy, so I know my way around the bike lanes, but when my legs are tired I just take this puppy out. I know that some part of me enjoys it for the novelty, but you’re crazy if you think that the Reflex isn’t going to be popping up more and more.

I compare it to getting an iPhone (or the Samsung Galaxy) for the first time. Once I got my first one, I was hooked. This is the direction that the world is moving.

The Alva Rides Reflex gets up to 16 MPH in seconds, and takes me a week before I need to charge it. I got 17 miles on one 3.5 hour charge. The Reflex has a mode to go at a walking speed if you’re hanging out with your friends who don’t have one. It also fits right in the back of an Uber if I end up out late.

It’s rare we find a new gadget that actually serves a real purpose and delivers on something you didn’t know you needed. Forget the “hoverboard,” this is actually a way to arrive in style and refreshed. You heard it here first, I expect to see everyone using these soon. The future is now.

Welcome back to another cool batch of Esports Now News! The Overwatch Contenders season one came to a close, leaving the competition with two winners, one from Europe, and the other from the U.S.A. Meanwhile, Team Rogue has decided to drop out of the Overwatch League completely.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s going on in the world of Esports…

We have two new champions for season 1 of the Overwatch Contenders

Team Gigantti (Europe) and Team Envyus (North America) have both won season 1 of the Overwatch Contenders series in their respective territories. Gigantti took Euope, while Envyus swept North America. Envyus ripped through the series, with a flawless record of 7-0. Meanwhile, Gigantti was also impressive during their dominant showing in Europe, with a record of 6-1.

Gigantti beat out their rivals (former first place team) Team Misfits in a close seven-game encounter to win the series. Envyus quickly took out Team FaZe Clan to win the North America tournament.

Team Rogue will be disbanding their Overwatch team

On Sunday, Rogue announced that they’ve decided to release their players after initially trying to set up an Overwatch League team and failing. Rogue reportedly went through the approval process and received the buy-in money, but were still denied. What was Rogue to do?

On October 8, 2017, Rogue released a statement on Twitter, officially announcing the disbandment of their Overwatch League team. The statement said, “Today we’re sorry to announce that we will be breaking up the current #RogueOW roster to allow the players to pursue spots on OWL teams. We did everything we could to get the team a spot in OWL, including procuring the buy-in money and going through the whole approval process. Unfortunately, we were not accepted for Season 1 and had no option but to break up the most accomplished Overwatch team in the game’s history so that the players could accept offers. We will continue to pursue putting together more great teams in the future and hope next time to be able to keep what we’ve worked so hard to build.”

Rogue decided to break up the team, as to open up the former team members to other offers.

Team Rogue was reportedly full of the most accomplished Esports players in the world. Now, the team has decided to disband.

Luke Ferguson has been arrested for allegedly shooting four people and killing two in in an upscale Aliso Viejo neighborhood. A manhunt was issued, as authorities searched for their suspect. He was reportedly apprehended by West LAPD on Hill St. just west of Lincoln.

Here’s a photograph of the suspect, who is reportedly a 26-years-old white male, who is 6 foot 1, and weighs roughly 200 pounds.

The shooting reportedly occurred at 2:48 P.M. (PT) on Thursday in Ashbury Court in the Hamptons community of Aliso Viejo. Ferguson allegedly shot four people, fatally wounding two.

One of the people killed was 51-year-old Lisa Cosenza, who was initially identified by the corners, and then by friends of the deceased. Here’s a photograph of Lisa (check the gallery for more)…

A man was also killed during the shooting, but he has yet to be identified. Authorities report that one of the people Ferguson killed was his own family member.

Two other men were wounded in the shooting and taken to a hospital while in critical condition. The ages of the men are 23 and 48-years-old.

Authorities recommended that residents in the Hamptons community do not leave their homes, while the shooter was still at large. Officials even offered to provide residents with transportation, so that they could safety be escorted in and out of their neighborhood.

Ferguson reportedly lived in the Aliso Viejo community where the shooting occurred.

Neighbors reportedly heard an argument and gun shots on Thursday.

Stephanie Reynolds, an area resident, said, “It’s more just shaken us a little bit, knowing that something happened in our neighborhood that was so close to us.”

The motive of the shooting is still unknown, according to authorities. Check back as the story develops…

With episodes that cost $15 million a pop and will run over 90 minutes each, despite there only being six episodes, production on Game Of Thrones final season will take longer than any of the previous, meaning that it may not be released until late 2018 or even early 2019 (if Planet Earth even makes it that long).

Nevertheless, production is officially underway as the cast has started to pour into Belfast. So far, most of the show’s principal cast such Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau have arrived. Actors who play supporting characters such as Dolorous Edd, Tormund, and Samwell Tarley have also been spotted.

One fan spotted a bunch of cast members on location in Belfast, including Hivju, whom she photographed standing alongside Dolorous Edd actor Ben Crompton.  Fans have already spotted most of the show’s principal cast as well, including Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Now that the Thrones train is running once more, nothing can stop it—well, except Harington’s wedding to former Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie, which will evidently halt production for a day so that the cast and crew can attend the festivities.

The Hivju sighting is by far the most exciting beginning-of-production development so far. Sure, for all we know, the actor could simply be filming a flashback, or an extended death scene in which he slowly bleeds out thanks to a fallen icicle—but at the very least we know he’s got at least a few moments of screen time left.

Going into its final season, the HBO juggernaut’s plot points are all, as always, closely guarded secrets. But in the wake of the massive hack the company faced earlier this year, even more secrecy precautions are being taken than ever before.

Given the sheer scale of the final six episodes, no official release date for Game of Thrones season 8 has been released, but it’s looking like best cast scenario is Fall 2018.

What follows is one of the most acclaimed horror movies of our time and marks the start of a bloody and trap-filled horror series.

Using the main character’s lack of hearing, this great slasher puts the audience in the shoes of our hero and allows us to fully look for audio clues and gives us actually frightening scares!

10. The Nightmare

Release Date: January 26th, 2015

The only movie on this list to feature real-life horrors, this 2015 documentary looks into the terrifyingly real phenomena of sleep paralysis. Telling the stories of eight people affected by it, this documentary takes things up a notch by fully recreating the scenes the affected are telling. Sleeping after watching this one won’t come too easily…

9. We Are Still Here

This criminally underrated horror film takes evil and sets it within everyone’s safe space…their home. After coming back from a 2-0 deficit against the Cleveland Indians in the ALDS, Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees head to Houston to take on the Astros in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series.

On the hill for the Yankees is Masahiro Tanaka, who pitched a gem against the Indians in the ALDS. In a topsy-turvy season for the righty, the Yankees got the dominant Tanaka when they needed him in Game 3 of the ALDS. Now he will test his mix of pitches on the road, where he was markedly worse (6.48 ERA to 3.22 at home) this season.

For Houston is former Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel. Keuchel tossed 5 2/3 innings against the Red Sox in ALDS Game 2, giving up one run on three hits, walking three and striking out seven in Houston’s 8-2 victory at Minute Maid Park. The left-hander has a 0.96 ERA in three career postseason starts.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have arrested the suspect who allegedly assaulted a fan at a Panthers-Eagles football game Thursday night. The assault was caught on video and spread throughout the internet, quickly becoming viral. A panthers fan is seen repeatedly punching a man sitting behind him.

Kyle Adam Maraghy, 26, has been arrested in connection with the assault at Thursday night’s game between the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles. Here’s a video of the incident:

Early Friday morning, Warren Carrigan posted footage of the bloodied encounter on his Facebook and Instagram pages. Carrigan claims that the fight broke out in section 541. He said that a man wearing a Panthers jersey and a woman standing next to him were both standing up for the entire game. Corrigan wrote that, “The dude took offense to the couple never sitting down and obstructing his view.”

Shortly before 6 P.M. on Friday, CMPD sent out a tweet, confirming the arrest of Kyle Adam Maraghy in connection with Thursday night’s assault.

The video shows the sucker-punch in action. Blood was dripping from the man’s face at the end of their exchange. The victim is a 62-year-old who got into an argument with the 26-year-old because him and the woman standing next to him refused to sit down, and were obstructing his view of the game.

Carrigan wrote, “Just so the general public knows, just about every agency that has contacted me requesting permission to use the content, I’ve given as much additional information as I could and have not requested to be compensated. I just want justice for the poor old guy who just wanted to watch a football game.”

The Carolina Panthers have released an official statement on the incident:

“We have reviewed video tape of the incident and have identified the perpetrator. We are working with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law. The Carolina Panthers are committed to a fan-friendly and family-friendly stadium experience. The behavior exhibited by the perpetrator is unacceptable and will not be condoned at Bank of America Stadium.”

The NFL are also investigating the assault.

Maraghy and his girlfriend reportedly escaped the stadium following the incident, hopping over multiple rows before exiting the arena. He was later identified and taken into custody by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

After a wild series against the Washington Nationals, the Chicago Cubs head to Los Angeles for an NLCS rematch with Clayton Kershaw and Dodgers this Saturday at 8:08 PM. The Dodgers are coming off a sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks making them a team that will be playing on a lot of rest.

The last time these two teams faced off the Cubbies got the best of LA, beating them in the 2016 division series 4-2 behind the stellar pitching of Jon Lester. With Lester being the probable start for Game 2 of the current series, we are not sure who we will see on the mound Friday night although it will probably be either Jose Quintana or John Lackey. Quintana is yet to give up a run this postseason while Lackey has not made an appearance thus far.

The Dodgers, on the other hand, have a pitching staff whose well rested with the league’s long-running top pitcher as their ace. Kershaw has been dominant for the majority of his career but never seems to pitch as well in the playoffs. Over his 15 postseason appearances, he holds a 4.63 ERA with 113 strikeouts. With an offense led by the likes of Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant Kershaw will have to bring his best stuff.

With the first round of the 2017 MLB playoffs in the books, there are only two teams left in the American League who are still standing. Those two teams are the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros. Both teams have faced each other seven times this season and Houston won five of them. The Astros are currently favored to win this series and reach the World Series for the first time since 2005. However, the Yankees have embraced the underdog role this season and look poised to pull off another upset behind their powerful bats and elite bullpen. It should be a very competitive series throughout.

For game one of the series, the Astros will be sending out ace Dallas Keuchel. This season, Keuchel had an earned run average of 2.90 along with a 14-5 record. Despite those impressive statistics, Keuchel has even better numbers against the New York Yankees in particular. In his career, Keuchel has an earned run average of 1.24 against the Yankees and has never allowed a home run against the Yankees in over 50 career innings. Back in 2015, Keuchel pitched against the Yankees in the AL Wild Card game and pitched six shutout innings in a 3-0 victory. If Keuchel pitches like his normal self, there is very little that the Yankees will be able to do.

The Yankees will counter Dallas Keuchel by using Masahiro Tanaka. This season, Tanaka had an earned run average of 4.74 along with a record of 13-12. Tanaka has also struggled against the Astros this season by giving up eight earned runs in less than two complete innings of work. However, Tanaka was unbelievable in his only playoff start this season and shutout the Indians for seven innings in game three. One can assume that Yankees’ manager Joe Girardi chose Tanaka as the game one starter in the hopes that he can duplicate that gem against the Indians. However, it is clear that the Astros have a huge pitching advantage in game one of this series.

As for the lineups, I have to side with Houston. Houston’s lineup is full of young talent that possess ridiculous talent. The offense has the perfect blend of speed and power. Led by American League MVP candidate Jose Altuve, this team has the ability to score runs in bunches and overpower opposing teams. Altuve, in particular, had 24 home runs and 81 runs batted in while having a ridiculous .346 batting average. Joining him is teammate George Springer who hit 34 home runs this season and is now the leadoff hitter for the Astros. The Yankees do have a tremendous amount of power throughout the lineup. Led by rookie Aaron Judge who hit 52 home runs this season, this offense led the American League in home runs this season and will look to hit a couple of them off of Keuchel in game one. However, the Yankees are a little bit too dependent on home runs. The Astros have the speed and depth to score runs even when they are not hitting a lot of home runs. The same cannot be said about the Yankees. The Yankees have lived and died via the “long ball” all season long and one has to wonder if the Bronx Bombers can maintain their home run production.

As for predictions, I have to side with the home team. The Astros won 48 of their 81 games at home in the regular season and have a huge pitching advantage for game one. Tanaka has struggled mightily this season on the road and against Houston so one can expect him to struggle throughout the course of this contest. Having said that, the Yankees are riding a strong wave of momentum after overcoming that two game deficit in the first round in order to advance, so I can see this team making game one closer than most people anticipate.

As for score, I will take the Astros by a score of 6-4.
